I bought a cheap diamond blade to cut paving stones and it just sparked. Thinking the machine was not powerful enough I boxed it up to return back, but then having also brought a Bosch blade thought I would try that. The difference really was chalk and cheese. I’ve now cut 15x 3cm paving slabs and the blade is still sharp.
The only drawback is the battery does not last very long, even with a spare I am having to wait between charges.
The best one on the market !!! & work s like tha t too!!
Good product. Great being cordless. Sharing batteries works well if you have other Makita products.
Started off by buying the Makita DGA463Z 18V Li-Ion LXT Brushless 115mm Angle Grinder which did not really impress us much, returned the DGA463Z and bought this one instead. Soft start and brake on the brushless seemed a bit vague. This one is only a single speed and does not have a brushless motor, however it starts and stops and grinds well. Easy to use switch, and a bit smaller than the brushless. So its only our thoughts, but happy to have bought this, and would buy another.

We have purchased many Makita products this was very disappointing for a major brand watch the switch does not engage as you use the switch Makita need to look at the quality for whhat is thhe best brand
and equipment on the market risk of poor cordless items as the market is flooded with equipment
could lose creditability in you trading position Sorry but lets sell stuff that is value for money
Great little grinder if you have makita batteries
Would have been even better if it had speed control for polishing
What else would you expect from Makita…….great and reliable to use
Standard product. Excellent service from Howe tools ltd. Competitive price and Delivered in 2 days
where if bought from amazon direct it would be 6 days we’ll find Howe tools ltd
Why wouldn’t you buy a wireless grinder!? If you have the batteries already this is well worth the money. No more gunning extention cable just to grind one or 3 things.
Saved so much time and effort.

Really handy tool that lives in our box with combi driller and small impac
Bought this for my partner for work, he loves it. Great durability and quality that you would expect from Makita
Good quality tool, only slight grievance I personally have is switch is a little tricky to use, bit fiddly, after a while it loosens up and works ok
For the amount I use it, I am not sure what extras you get in actual performance from buying the more expensive model. On the other hand when I bought a drill I got the best brushless model because I use drills almost every day. This grinder I use once a month so cannot justify spending more. In use with a cutting disk I have cut bolts and steel round bar 20mm in diameter. It cut out once where I was pushing it too hard. It cut through my old exhaust very easily. For the use I put it to I would totally buy again.

ALL WAYS USE MAKITA GREAT TOOLS LAST A LONG TIME
Ideal for classic car renovation without trailing cables and occasional jobs at stable without power supply.
Clearly up to Makita high quality standard.
Only issue I have with this is the cut out switch, every time it cuts out you have to switch off and on to restart.
Makita replacement for my old one which sadly gave up on me
Next day delivery back in business
Excellent tool. Light enough for one handed operation. Excellent quality as expected from makita.
My only gripe is that a 4ah battery doesn’t last long enough, but I suppose that’s what you get for not buying Brushless.
Either way, I’ll keep using it when I need it on jobs, I’ll just have to keep changing batteries.

Used to chase out walls for running cables. Excellent. Have been using a mains unit but will be sticking with cordless.
Lovely to use and very powerful. I have been using it for light work every couple of weeks for a year and it has been fine so far. This included masonry cutting.

Good grinder but overheats quickly, probably should have gone for brushless
love the tool and arrived next day even though i ordered really late
There’s nothing to dislike so far only used it for cutting down door handle bars and window handle bars but it did the job with ease
Great as all Makita products are but eats through batteries
I use this drill 3 times a week for about some months now and it still works well.
This angle grinder is light and perfect for little cuts. Delivery was fast. So the perfect tool for handyman like me, but maybe not for a great pro!

Versatile , can be used in confined spaces which is perfect if you are a boat builder . excellent piece of kit.
All of my best power tools are Makita – no exceptions, and recently added this to my tool store.
Should you require the genuine Makita case for this particular tool. it is Makita’s 141257-5 Carry Case. Be aware that some tool-dedicated cases are evidently going obsolete and getting harder to find – giving way to Makita’s stackable cases customisable with liner inserts. I managed to source mine with a back-order from “Lawson HIS”, received just several days later.

For light work its fantastic just dont push it too much
So far so Good, plenty of power and doesn’t drain batteries as quick as I though
Nice compact size and weight. I used it for grinding tiles and cutting them .I’ll also use it for numerous other things associated with my trade!!
I’m an electrician and those tiresome cutting jobs done with a hacksaw are a thing of the past. Nice control and so much easier than getting leads and transformer out.

Great little grinder payed for its self in the first day. So much easier then getting all the extension leads out. I’ve a 4amp battery and it works great really please I bought it and a bargain price of 75

Excellent product with cut off overload protection. Not a heavy duty angle grinder but great for portability. I suggest buying two or more batteries for continuous use. Quite strong at cutting as long as you don’t continuously overload it.

Fantastic bit of kit. Can ruin battery’s if you aren’t careful, if your battery is showing signs its running out take it off immediately or risk destroying your battery.
Good grinder, does the job of cutting metal containment well, I will have to admit that the yellow ones are better made with more features like a quick release guard and a better handle. It is quite large in the hand and a colleague mentioned it looked like a large adult toy.
The BL version is a lot better but this does the job nicely without being too flashy, Ive always had Makita tools and they arent as well made as they used to be but still up to the job.

Great tool handy to have, but you need to have 4amp or 5amp batteries for it as 3amps don’t last long
Great angle grinder uses standard 18v LXT Battery & charger from drill/impact driver se
Quiet, sturdy and does the job really well. Very pleased with it.
Love the fact its cordless speeds jobs up so much would recommend has auto jam so very safe
The on – off switch can get stuck otherwise its good
Makita. Works perfectly. Eas to use no cables to get in the way. Excellent.
How we have all been waiting for this battery powered revolution. I believe Makita make some of the best battery powered tools around and this angle grinder is no exception. It feels good to use. It feels safe to use. The usual Makita build quality.

My second one of these as the last one gave in after 5 years of hard graft. This replacement was cheaper than having the old one repaired.
Birthday present for my son who is an electrician, he was over the moon with i
Well pleased, powerful little tool. Unlike many other cordless tools, this one actually performs well. Worth investing in a higher strength battery as does use significant power (4ah+) Comes with a grinding disc so need to buy cutting discs extra.
Overall a very satisfactory purchase and can well recommend

its a makita, only downside is they kill batteries in no time. good produc
Nothing wrong with product apart from round nut that holds disc on jammed on tight WELL DONE to the moron that screwed it o
Very good value item. Dispatch though was slow and failed to meet deadline
Very pleased arrived on time.Used to cut patio slabs, done the job extremely well, easy to handle. For small jobs would recommend
Great, nice not to have wire trailing everywhere – just pick it up and use i
I was a little sceptical about a battery operated angle grinder, but having used Makita products before I thought I would take the chance…….excellent product. Whilst it isn’t the best tool for cutting metal, it’s angle grinding quality is superb. Being battery it is quieter and not as feisty as a mains powered grinder, which means it is lighter, easier to handle and less chance of it taking your face off when using in a very confined space. Really pleased I took the chance as it’s a great tool.
GOOD BIT OF KIT , DOING WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO
Bought as a present for my son in law who rates this very well
This is a great bit of kit. Sturdy, feels good and well made. As the others have said, it really drinks the juice! I am running it on 5amps and it needs all of that I would say. However, I only use a grinder occasionally and normally when I just need a quick cut so it cerainly saves all the faff of having to plug a mains one in.
This was a bit of a treat and luxury for me as I just brought it to add to other Makita stuff….and glad I have for all those annoying jobs where you can just wizz away easily. Just watch the battery power though. However, as said, nice quality and I am pleased.
I stuck a wood cutting blade in the grinder and I can now cut floorboards with ease
Also I cut pallets up for my wood burner as well
Marita Marita well that is all I will buy last forever does as it should I have had my tools for years same old battery’s still going strong still as good as new apart from normals work where on it thanks
use this a lot more than i expected, good tool
delivered on time, not sure of performance as was for farther in law, he seem happy
As an electrician this is the perfect tool for cutting metal trunking etc. So easy to use and handy being cordless.
It’s okay, but I have a mac one too which was 20 from b&q and 10 x the power of the makita. Expected for a battery machine
Very good tool do not bother buying if u have any less than a 4ah battery if ur planning on using it for a long time it will eat your battery
A great piece of equipment, well designed and easy to use. The battery life is good.
Nice but uses battery up to quick need to have a spare or two
Great price. Quick delivery. Will buy from you again thanks
Usual Makita quality, extremely convenient to have no trailing cable have found performance pretty effortless so far, been used to cut medium density thermalite blocks and facing bricks to size, haven’t had any issues with running time when used with 3mah batteries.
I had this tool in my kit but was made redundant so i bought this and it is brillia
Totally happy with this grinder usual makita quality at a great price and really fast delivery
Ordered this item on a Wednesday evening and it arrived on Friday morning. A nice piece of kit. Quieter than the electric versions and so handy. Doesn’t run for long on a 3ah battery but will go for a while on a 4 or 5 ah.
My husband said that this was a great buy, it cuts through tiles very easily.
Excellent tool, not as agree dive as my mains 240v makita grinder. Very pleased.
Brilliant of course. Go brushless if you use it everyday, but this will last me for years.
Its a good bit of kit but it sucks the battery dry in no time at all
4AH battery on full charge lasted me about 8 to 10 mins grinding out mortar from a brick wall
For quick jobs two charged batteries will get you there.
I have Four 4ah packs and two charge units and the constant
switch over got so tedious I went back to my mains powered grinder to finish the job.
I don’t regret the purchase though
Haven’t used it much but does exactly what I want with no hastle of needing an extension lead
Am really happy with it a must have for any tile
EXCELLENT GRINDER MAKES LIFE EASY HAVING TO NOT USE A LEAD ON SITE,GOOD FOR CABLE TRAY,BASKET TRAY,UNISTRUT, WILL EAT 3AMP BATTERIES THOUGH BUT WORTH IT
