The DHP484Z has a variable 2 speed motor for a wide range of drilling, fastening and hammer drilling applications, high speed mode for speedy drilling in light duty applications and low speed mode for heavy duty applications requiring high torque. Powered by 18V Li-ion battery (not included) to deliver up to 2,000 rpm / 30,000 bpm. The brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life, and efficiently uses energy to match torque and rpm to the changing demands of the application. There are 21 clutch settings and drill mode for added fastening control.
Convenient 13mm keyless chuck for quick bit changes, built in dual LED lights and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions.

Only used a couple of times, but had no issue with drilling holes in a brick wall. Seems very solid and well built.

Could do with a magnet on the side for holding screws bits etc that even the cheapest of the cheap drills have nowadays.
I’d also say that the gearbox thumb lever is a bit stiff and I’m hoping some use will help it. Cant move it with gloves on currently.
Si presenta immediatamente robusto, nella meccanica interna in metallo , la presa eccezionalmente ergonomica e piacevole per via delle comode guancette in gomma.
Il trapano avvitatore a percussione DHP484Z ,ha due velocit meccaniche , la 2 ,pi veloce e adatta alla foratura semplice o con percussione ( 0 – 2.000 rpm – 30.000 impatti al minuto con funzione percussione, momento di torsione 30 N*m ) , e la 1, pi lenta e indicata per l’avvitatura ( 0 – 500 rpm, momento di torsione 60 N*m ) .
Acquistato fondamentalmente per aver un avvitatore in quanto il vecchio ha ceduto , mi sento di indicarlo per lavori di hobbystica anche professionali come forare qualsiasi materiale e avvitare viti o bulloni di entit media; Per le operazioni di avvitatura pi sostenuta pi adatto magari il modello DHP481Z ,top di gamma nel segmento ,oppure il Makita DTW285Z come nel mio caso per avvitare / svitare bulloni molto grandi e resistenti ( oltre la tipologia bulloni dei pneumatici per intendersi ) .
La foratura a percussione dei materiali lapidei o del calcestruzzo agevole, bench non ci si debbano aspettare le prestazioni di un trapano tassellatore ,per piccoli fori nel muro pi che valido ,intendiamoci , ma per opere superiori ,pi impegnative come forature multiple in pareti portanti o in massetti di calcestruzzo mi affido al DHR242, mentre per la foratura del metallo con diametri di punte superiori ai 7 mm ,utilizzo l’ HP2071.
A mio avviso Makita rimane sempre una garanzia negli attrezzi da lavoro , il prezzo pagato sicuramente sinonimo di qualit e durata nel tempo , come il motore senza spazzole , praticamente un must per gli attrezzi moderni che necessitano di controllo preciso della maggior potenza erogata rispetto ai motori a carboncini che col tempo perdono in prestazioni e pongono il fastidioso problema della generazione di scintille per il normale funzionamento .

Il motore brushless offre potenza e lunga durata, la coppia che genera sufficientemente elevata per i lavori di casa ,consuma molta meno batteria rispetto agli avvitatori con motore a carboncini ,non disperdendo energia in attrito.
Ottimo prodotto per lavori di piccola e media entit , robusto e maneggevole ,si adatta alle batterie della serie XPT / LXT a 18V .
Il mandrino gira perfettamente in asse ,la chiusura pi che stabile nonostante quanto potessi immaginare per la sua costruzione in plastica, la luce led illumina abbondantemente la zona di lavoro ,il grilletto discretamente sensibile anche per regolare la velocit di rotazione nella marcia veloce.
Non leggerissimo, ed un pregio quando lo si utilizza per forare materiali un po’ pi tenaci, infatti opinione comune ( e a mio avviso pi che corretta ) che un attrezzo pi pesante sia anche pi efficace ,robusto e funzionale.

Goes through brick like a hot knife through butter. Powerful and the battery balances really well. Already having lxt tools it was a no brainer buying this. Well made and fits well in my hand.
I have build my entire tool kit on the Makita platform so I have certain expectations!
Let me first say that the drill arrived on time, well packaged with no visible signs of any damage.
I am very impressed with this little drill. The brushless motor provides ample power and torque. Just to test it out I drilled out a mortise lock for a fire door! I ate through the door without even struggling a little and didn’t flatten the battery. Its fairly small in the hand & lightweight but I can tell its very well built. I would think this is definitely fit for professional use, but at a DIY price – Makita Quality!

it works well with loads of power but the trigger is either on or off which doesn’t help when trying to start to drill a hole

This product was purchased as one of its family (same brand) was made out of plastic and at one point ripped apart while working. This one is clearly more sturdy as it has more metal parts. Does well with heavy duty tasks.

Il y avait bien le mode d’emploi, une pub makita, un embout de vissage dan s la boite (j’ai ajout la batterie sur la photo, qui n’est pas incluse dans le carton.
La perceuse semble trs bien fonctionn, sans dfaut.
Je ne comprends pas cet emballage pour du Makita que j’achte souvent.

If you want a drill driver that just works, get this one. Go for the 3Ah batteries they are lighter and more cost effective than the 5Ah ones.
Good strong drill as long as you use it on the correct settings and don’t burn it out it should last a long time.
I am a biased Makita user. Since having my first Makita drill many years ago I have completely changed all my corded power tools over to the Makita 18volt battery operated tools and I am pleased to say they have never let me down how ever I used them. They are solidly built and dependable.
Reliable, works great, wish the chuck had been metal though since it is plastic and managed to lean the chuck whilst turning onto a metal girder and the plastic chuck got slightly shredded but it still worked.

I looked around for a while trying to figure out what the model numbers actually stand for. Even Makita themselves aren’t very clear on their website. So had to go by what the other Amazon users were saying.
And I have to absolutely concur, this item is a beast. And I mean a beast. I’ve a small 18v sds and a brushless impact driver from Makita. Their both really, really good.
But this drill is on another level still. It’s true what some people are saying about broken wrists.
Be very careful on using from the box because this thing can cause damage both to yourself and the material.
It’s very small and just neat and looks and feels quality. At 90 quid it’s not the cheapest but worth the expense for daily use at work.
I apologise for maybe sounding a bit like a fanboy but I think it may now be getting me too!
Really powerful, makes my old 10.8v Bosch feel like a little weedy tool.
Easy to change bits, and the power this thing has, wow. Drills into brick no problem.
One thing to note, it feels a little heavy, and off balance with my 5.0Ah battery. Weight and balance would be much improved with a 3.0Ah or 2.0Ah. Still plenty of capacity in those batteries though.

This product is very good, build extremely well but what do you expect it’s a makita tool and they are amazing! I would highly recommended this product to anyone. It comes with a bit and a belt clip with the drill. The drill is very compact and easy to use. I would always recommend makita tools over any other company.

Htte nicht gedacht, dass eine Maschine mit Akku so viel Leistung herauszaubert.
Habe einen Altbau renoviert und mir dafr eine neuen Akkuschrauber zugelegt. Da ich schon eine kleinere Makita mit zweitem Akku besitze, viel die Wahl weiterhin auf Makita.
15cm Massivholz lassen sich mhelos bohren/schrauben. Selbst 6er Lcher lassen sich mit etwas Geduld in Backstein bohren. Dieser Akkuschrauber ersetzt keine anstndige Schlagbohrmaschine, aber fr einzelne Lcher (vor allem wenn man keine Lust hat ein Kabel zu ziehen, Schlagbohrmaschine + Bohrer zu suchen) reicht sie vollkommen aus.
Die Schraubleistung der Maschine ist wirklich top! Ich habe ca. 150 qm Rigipsdecke mit einer Dachlattenunterkonstruktion gebaut. Dabei wurden lange (120mm) Einstellschrauben in Trgerbalken (Fachwerkhaus) geschraubt. Man musste manchmal aufpassen, dass die Maschine nicht einem die Hand umdreht, so viel Kraft bringt die Makita mit.
Das Gewicht ist sehr angenehm, vor allem wenn man viel berkopf arbeiten muss.
Drehmoment lsst sich sehr przise und auf jeden Anwendungsbereich einstellen (Holzbalken, Ikea Mbel, Metall).
Wrde die Maschine auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Lieber 50 mehr ausgeben und eine Maschine fr viele Anwendungen parat zu haben – und Freude gibt’s kostenlos dazu ;).
Nella confezione presente solo il trapano. Il confezionamento del prodotto non mi sembrato all’altezza visto che si tratta del modello di punta; penso che Makita dovrebbe curare anche questo aspetto. Le parti in gomma del trapano erano impolverate dal cartone della confezione (bastava un sacchetto di plastica) e il manuale tutto spiegazzato.
Il trapano di per se funziona bene e sembra anche molto robusto viste le parti in metallo. Il lato negativo di questa solidit per il peso; ero abituato ad un 12v black+decker molto pi leggero (ma anche molto meno potente).
So far very happy with the purchase. My first brushless. Great torque and speed, comfortable to hold. Put in some 150 pc of 70-80mm floorscrews, battery level dropped only one notch (3AmH battery). 160mm screws went into the wood like into butter. 5 stars, absolutely.

As a plumber, my day can be spent drilling into mostly either wood, brick or concrete. This drill, with a charged battery and a good drill bit is the Dog’s RFB’s (round furry bits). I’m not now reaching for the corded sds for pipe clip setting in concrete. In addition, no need to get my corded Makita percussion drill for 25mm auger bits when doing pipe runs through joists. Watch out though, the torque on this little beast is phenomenal. Even in gear setting 2 (fast speed) it will want to rip your hand out of it socket. So I might yet invest in the strangely oversized handle for this thing?
My last Makita 18V (BHP 452) had its severe material limitations. So far this drill is out performing that by a long way and as mentioned has restricted the occasions I need to reach for a corded device. I obviously already had the 18V Li ion battery system so this was a natural upgrade. That being said I would not use this for drilling any thing larger than 12 or 13mm holes in brick or block. For two reasons; firstly, as mentioned the torque is so great, without a handle and a clutch mechanism this device would in my opinion be dangerous and secondly, I don’t intend to abuse the drill for tasks that are either outside of its design threshold or very close to it. This for any type of electrical device will shorten its life span.
Consequently, if it lasts as long as the old BHP 452 I will be able to get at least 5 years regular ( that means every day in my case) use out if it. By that time, according to how BBC Watchdog portray the plumbing industry, I should have urinated in enough cold water storage tanks in peoples lofts, taken 80 hours to fit a flush handle and unblocked a drain charging 8,000. Which should have paid for the device by then…..unless of course I’m not charging enough!
If your a trade and use hand drills, this is the one to get. If your a DiYer then still get this and imagine that your a qualified and knowledgeable tradesman equipped with the know-how to do your own bathroom. You won’t be. But at least every hole you drill and screw you fit (incorrectly) will give you a semi!

Klar, das ist Profiqualitt, das muss man in den Baumrkten schon suchen.
Ich kann das Ding voll empfehlen. Habe dazu noch das Makpac2 mit Einlage bestellt, so ist alles gut verstaut und viel Zubehr, wie Bohrer, Bits Akku und wei der Teufel, passen auch rein und man hat alles gut zusammen.
Einfach nur wunderbar!
