The DHR281ZWJ features Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) for lower vibration and “soft no load” function to automatically reduce the motor speed during idling to suppress the vibration of the machine body.
The DHR281ZWJ is equipped with battery protection circuit designed to automatically protect the battery from overload current, over-discharge and overheating. The DHR281ZWJ is supplied complete with quick change chuck and DX09 Dust Collection System.
DHR281ZWJ is not compatible with G-Series batteries.

The DHR281ZWJ is a powerful 28mm cordless Rotary Hammer, adapted for SDS-Plus bits, powered by two 18V Li-ion LXT slide type batteries (not included) to supply energy to the powerful 36V brushless motor, variable speed control and constant speed control, to deliver up to 5,000 bpm, 980 rpm and 2.8 J impact energy for a wide range of demanding applications.
The DHR281ZWJ is equipped with 3 operating modes for rotary only, rotary with hammer and hammer only, one touch sliding chuck for quick and easy bit installations and removals, reverse rotation switch operable with one hand, LED job light to illuminate the work area and torque limiter to stop the Drill rotation if the bit jams for increased operator safety.
Makita 199585-2 DX09 Dust Collection System
The 199585-2 DX09 Dust Collection System directly connects to and is suitable for Makita DHR281 Brushless SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer. The 199585-2 DX09 is equipped with one touch easy installation and removal, transparent dust case, large dust box cover, twin LED job light and depth gauge adjustable by a push button.
The 199585-2 DX09 has a filter cleaning mechanism to help keep the filter clean and a HEPA filter to trap particles with an efficiency rating of 99.75 per cent.
The dust collection inlet can be adjusted to suit the bit length with a push button.
