5.0 out of 5 stars Makita quality as usual
Like the tightening mechanism (no need for sockets/screwdrivers). Time will tell if the plastic fins on the tensioner will break, but certainly easier than other chainsaws.
Quiet and efficient.
Just make sure you have a supply of batteries to swap as cutting bigger logs takes its toll (i used 2x 5ah and 2x6ah 18V batteries – though admittedly got through quite a few logs).
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Chainsaw
First chainsaw owned. Thought I would invest in a battery operated for ease of use as petrol ones troublesome and heavy.
Bought Makita as I own several of their power tools and can’t fault them. This chainsaw is very competitively priced. Much dearer ones out there.
What a fantastic piece of kit. Easy to set up.
Chain can be adjusted with one hand.
Very quiet in operation and so far has cut log after log with ease. Some as thick as 12″ diameter. The battery consumption has been very good.
Well pleased and very much recommended.
Get one you won’t be disappointed.

Don’t wait, just get one
Never thought a battery powered chainsaw would ‘cut it’ lol but it’s serious kit. A couple of spare batteries won’t do any harm if your doing a couple of hours work but the joy of manfully pressing a button to start it up is a beautiful thing. Highly recommend this item for general domestic use although I have seen professionals using the same model so says a lot.
Quality products
Well made chainsaw as with all makita tools excellent quality.
If you need a small chainsaw this is the one to have. Small and light and so easy to use . No problems starting like petrol ones. It is as powerful as both the petrol ones i have and so much quieter as well.
Just great.
Fantastic bit of kit from Makita. Bought to chop up some logs. I’d recommend watching a few videos online for safe operation. Generally speaking though, the chain is so sharp that it cuts through wood with ease. Once you get that hang of it, you can get about half hour or more out of two 18v batteries. Don’t forget to buy chainsaw oil, although you do get a small amount for one go. I’d recommend buying some additional so that you can keep the oil reservoir topped up. Easy to clean with very few parts. At first I was a bit apprehensive about it, but you quickly learn how the saw moves and it’s as safe as any other power tool. Definitely recommend it for small domestic duties. Wish I had more logs to chop!
Superb
Brilliant. Been using it to cut roofs on site and cut 4×4 posts and 6×2 framing. Use much more than l thought. It does drink the oil quickly. Battery’s last a good time, the cut is clean enough for carcassing and easy to use accurately. It does produce a lot of saw chippings so goggles and gloves are a must. Not had any kickbacks or issues of any sort. Worth the money.
Wow
The first time I’ve ever used/bought a chainsaw.
Follow all the safety protocols and this baby will not let you down.
Highly impressed, love the slow intro and weight is fantastic. Ergonomically it’s an extension of me to use.
Daddy I’m hungry! More logs please.
I like that I don’t have to mix gas !,
Pull the cord and mess around priming it!.
Just plug the batteries in and away you go!.
Cuts logs like you won’t believe
It’s not as powerful as a petrol version, but it’s quiet, easy to use and great for smaller log cutting jobs like I have. I have compatible batteries from other tools so makes sense to have this model.
Top Produk
Much easier than a petrol saw
Assembly is a bit of a fiddle but it is essential to fit the chain correctly or it might slip off and cause damage. It’s easy to use and I run out of energy before the batteries run out of power.
well designed
It does the job and is handy as no need to keep pull starting a petrol one even though it does not have the ooomph for bigger jobs. Does what it is designed fo
The ability to press the on switch and get cutting is a game changer.
I used with 2 5ah batteries (supplied separately)for limbing and lasts a long time, over 2 evenings probably 4 hours & I did not run out of juice. However show it some trunks 10 inch or so and you will get 15 minutes give or take. The power is incredible considering it’s battery power.
Love i
I think the only gripe I might have is that it turns off a little fast when on standby, but that’s for safety reasons. So far this saw is a beast, well able to hold its own against petrol saws by Stihl and Husqs. I love this thing.
Top!!
Accensione facilissima.
Top. Super super consigliata
beste Maschine günstig gekauf
Wirklich starke, handliche Maschine.
Quiet effective easy to use replacement for my petrol versio
For me this tool is so much easier to use than a petrol chainsaw. It is so much quieter easy to start. No stalling. No pullcord. No engine set up to worry about. No petrol/oil to mix. I use mine for cutting up firewood and it copes extremely well with the logs of various widths. The batteries do drain fairly quickly but i can get more than enough done on a single charge. For me it is a complete replacement for petrol. depending on how much you use a chainsaw would dictate whether or not it would suit. I love i
plenty of powe
First job, cutting up a large tree that had half blown down. 15″ diameter trunk. Used 2 sets of batteries to chop it up to manageable sections. So much easier than using a petrol chainsaw as it was always ready for action. The only thing I missed was the smell of the burnt two stroke oil!
It has a thinner chain than it’s petrol counterpart so only time will tell if this requires more maintenance. This means it removes less material when making a cut, so this thing goes through even thick branches very quickly.
It took some time for the cutting oil to start flowing, so I would advise pre lubing the chain and sprockets prior to it’s first use. I liked the chain tension clamp.
Bought this mostly for quiet running. It is surprisingly good though: I went through a pile of six to ten inch logs to fill a ton bag and more. Maybe 1.5m. The saw flattened two sets of 5ah batteries, and was on the third set when the overheat lights flashed and I put it down. The saw ran almost non stop in that time, as I had a friend sorting logs to keep me cutting. I suppose it’s not the kind of use the tool is for, but it goes to show it can work hard. Some of what was cut were beach logs, other bits were very hard willow stems. The saw has also been used for cutting at almost the full bar, and so long as you go slow and ket the saw work, it’ll get there.
Klare Kaufempfehlung. Gru
Value for money
Tree cutting, and it worked as well as a petrol chainsaw
Was ist da ideal? Wieder nichts in der Gebrauchsanweisung. Also nach Gefhl.
Also maximale Vorsicht!
