It says on the description not for plastering however I bought it with that in mind, as I wanted something that took up less space, but could do a 2 bag mix. Once the paddle has been changed this is great for a 2 bag mix don’t think it would be to good with bigger mixes as it does lack a bit of power when compared with the dewalt cordless mixer. But this is a fraction of the price.

    Great tool.

Im leaving this review for other plasterer’s like me. I love this mixer. Cordless is really helpful and the drill is powerful and fast. I’ve used it to mix skim, dot n dab, hardwall and thincoat. not struggled or let me down once. I have only owned it for about 10 weeks so I can’t comment on the longevity but Makita make decent tools so im not worried. One piece of advice is to make sure you use proper batteries. I have a couple knock offs that I use in my radio and they don’t last 5 minutes in this drill whilst a Makita 5ah does plenty. Definitely recommend it.

Best thing I bought for a long time. We don’t use alot of cement on roofs these days. So a mixer is too much to carry round. The makita works brilliant with the ready mix we use. Makes my life alot easier . Easy to carry around. Easy to clean.

I’m a floor layer and use this for mixing latex screed. Eased through 34 bags the other day no problem. The whisk that comes with it is good aswell. For reference a 3amp battery got through 9 bags before it needed charging

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPlasterer for over 18 years. I’ve been through a few mixers. I’ve had collomix, megamixer, plus a few cheap and cheerful ones over the years. A few of my mates in the trade have splashed out on the dewalt cordless mixer but at 600 plus, and as someone who is doing a bit less spreading these days, I didn’t fancy spending that much. So I did my research and as I already have plenty of batteries for the makita kit, I thought I’d give it a try for the sake of 240 and I’ve just done my first week with it.

On the whole it’s a really great little mixer. This week it’s done about 8 bags of hardwall and about 12 bags of multi finish with no problem at all. My batteries are 18v 3ah and are years old so I am definitely going to invest in a few new 5ah as it’s probably about time anyway. Even so, 2 of my old 3ah batteries are enough to get me through a day. It looks a bit like a toy and I wasn’t sure if it would be up to the job, but I am well impressed and love the convenience of cordless mixing.

Here are the negatives. The mixer has 2 speed settings. 1 is slower with more torque and 2 is fast with less torque. My only issue is speed 1 is a little slow and speed 2 is much faster than it needs to be. Couple of occasions when washing off the paddle and water has splashed out because it spins too quickly. There is a bit of speed control in the trigger but it’s very sensitive and a slight squeeze too much and it’s off. Would be the perfect machine if the speed control was on a separate dial or if you had a bit more control over the trigger. Also, if you’re knocking up renders or something a bit beefy, this probably isn’t a big enough mixer and I would recommend splashing out on the dewalt for the perfect all round cordless mixer. However this is me at my most critical and all in all, I’m really happy with the makita mixer. Great bit of kit and I highly recommend it and just a smidgen off perfection. Glad I chose this one. Thanks makita.

While this is light to use it struggles to mix heavy board adhesive. I am sure it will be great for multi and board finish. I’m disappointed …

Great cordless mixer, I’ve used it to do tape and jointing at work so far, makes life easier than mixing by hand and i didn’t like the idea of using my standard drill for mixing. I’m not a full time tape and jointer so this suits me fine. Even my 2amp battery lasts plenty for the size mixes i do.

I’m a Professional Plasterer. The DUT130Z is half the size of my 110v whisk, but mixes a bag of Multifinish just as easily. You can mix numerous bags with one battery too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent machine, very efficient, used for plastering and has no problem mixing 2 to 3 bag buckets. Much better than most battery mixers. Splash guard works better than I thought it would. I’d recommend buying a refina paddle though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWicked little mixer, does the job it’s meant to! I’m a tape and jointed/plasterer my self, took me around 2 and abit 5.ah battery’s to do 5 mixes… Which is pretty good! If you’re skimming on site you’d probs get away with only needing 2! Went with this over the DeWalt mixer because I already had a Makita impact driver and also purchased the Makita drywall sander and backpack hoover.
