So first time using manic panic hair dye, so wasn’t really sure what to expect, but definitely wasn’t disappointed.
I lightened my hair prior to using, but only to a dark blonde level (I’m naturally dark brown), and was really impressed at how well the dye took and the overall finished look.
The dye is very very heavily pigmented which is great, but have to admit it did look like a crime scene when washing the dye out. The only negative I would say is despite rinsing my hair with cold water till nearly clear, I’m finding that there is some colour transference. I’m hoping a second wash will sort tha
I bought blue and pink so could do my hair half and half, it turned out great and very bright. Doesn’t last 6 weeks as it says on product mine lasted for about 2 weeks before I had to redo it.
gorgeous colour but be prepared to scrub your bathroom after using this!
I have used many hair colours over the years but nothing lasts as long as Manic Panic vampire red! I love it!! Best red hair dye I have ever used! Long lasting and leaves my hair in amazing condition. Even though the instructions say to leave it on for half an hour I leave it for longer as it just conditions the hair and intensives the colour, in my opinion. Best to be used on blonde/bleached hair for full colour impact, but does give dark hair colours a slight shade difference. I highly recommend Manic Panic colours!
Barely works. I have 2 other colors from the same brad that are amaaaaazing, but this one? More like a pale gold (on platinum white hair) and if you leave it in for a long time it’ll trick you making you think it’s finally orange but then less than a day later it’ll be all gone.
It’s okay and does work just wasn’t expecting it to be so small for the price
My natural hair was dark brown. After leaving the dye on for half an hour my hair is now a bright red in sunlight and a dark burgundy in any other lighting. Im so pleased with the colour! It also left my hair feeling very soft.
But I did have to dye my hair outside because this red hair dye gets absolutely everywhere and stains everything! It’s even stained the cracks within the tiles in my bathroom. My own fault of course. So just be careful where you apply the dye and wash it out.

Having never used this before I had
no expectations, I didn’t use any lightener it’s just on my natural mousy brown hair and wow I never expected this kind of colour!
Only negatives, I found the seal on the pot hard to break and lift off, and it took me 30 minutes to wash out the excess colour (not great while your head is upside down over the bath tub)
I have included 3 pictures, outside in the sun, outside in the shade and indoors – pretty vibrant in all settings.
If your on the fence just do it.
Good dye hair was 3/4 ice white 1/4 black before the green and the green took wonderfully in most areas but in some spots it hasn’t took and its slightly more yellow as you can see. I give it a 8/10. Fades quite quickly even with cold water washing
he colour is amazing, great value for money. i will say that it washed out almost fully within about 2 and a half weeks however it does say on the tub that it washes out of damaged hair quicker which mine definitely is. i managed to cover my whole head (just over shoulder length) with one tub however it was close
I have naturally light brown hair and didn’t fancy bleaching my hair before dyeing it for the first time. I wasnt really expecting this to show up very well but this dye was amazing. Very easy to apply and the colour has not faded so far. Very happy and i recommend this!
I absolutely love the colour, very bright but doesn’t last long. I’ve washed my hair twice since I dyed it and it’s went from an almost neon orange to orange but with a peachy tone to it.
I will buy more of this when I need to, it smells good, leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny and looks amazing. Thankfully didnt stain my skin or my bath unlike some other dyes.
The only con is how small the pot is. As you can see from my images, only half of my hair is orange and my hair is shoulder length. The pot only JUST covered it. I definitely reccomend buying multiple pots if your hair is longer or youre doing a full head!
Honestly so happy with how well my hair turned out.
Great colour, easy to apply, non-damaging. HOWEVER this will colour EVERYTHING it touches even more than a week after application. I have to cover my pillow at night with something black. Any lighter coloured clothes turn pink during wear. My nails turn bright pink every time I was my hair. Each time I shower it’s like someone killed a unicorn or something. On the plus side it comes out of fabric easy in the wash. Great colour but not worth the hassle afterwards. I won’t buy again. Shame because it’s a great colour.
If you’re looking for violet this is not the way to go unless your hair is really bleached and you use 2 jars for long hair.
I find it doesn’t stain as much as other manic panic colours though it washes a bit quicker too.
Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a nice blue hair colour and/or to reduce/correct green/teal hair then this is a good alternative if you are willing to experiment 😉
Thought I’d try Manic Panic just to add a streak of colour to my bleach blonde hair. The result is bold and bright, and it hasn’t damaged my hair either as it’s really conditioning too. It doesn’t take long and the intensity can be adjusted by leaving it on either more or less time… as I left it on for less than 10 minutes. Very long lasting too, as some 21 washes later (and counting), the colour is still just as vibrant.
Brilliant colour! I dyed this over faded silver/blonde hair with long exposed roots and didn’t bleach beforehand to achieve a rich and vibrant colour.
It arrived next day and application was simple. Obviously it stains your skin and pretty much everything it touches but nothing a little tea tree oil and some gloves can’t fix. I stand by Manic Panic however had recently dealt with a dissapointed “Blue steel” experience. I’m glad to say that this isn’t a disappointment and I definitely reccomend it.
Will update with colour longevity as it’s only been in a day
I have used this product for over a year and I have been really pleased with this, I love the colour vampire red and will continue to use it, I started using this as it is vegan and kinder to your hair. The colour goes on very easy and I tend to keep it in for longer than it states so the colour is more vibrant, I also put this in my conditioner to keep my hair colour topped up.
Brilliant dye for the price and will totally use again!

Mine ended up as a light “mermaid vibes” seablue ish colour – which I LOVE!
Also stained my shower and towels blue
The shade is a little more blue that I was hoping for but amazing coverage from just a small amount of product. Would definitely use this brand again based on this experience.

It washed out pretty easy in a few days where as the one I used previously, lasted a lot longer.
It doesn’t smell, it doesn’t stain anything and it is pretty nice.

It is nice hair dye, my hair is soft and shiny but the colour is a lot more pinky than I thought it was going to be but I’m still happy with the result.

I’ve dyed my hair with this twice now, although I think I got a dodgy or old batch the first time that wasn’t neon or even labelled as such, and was a bit lighter?
It’s a lovely shade, but it does wash out quick. I’m not massively bothered by that as I like the way it fades on my hair and goes to a sort of strawberry blonde shade, but I was a bit sad that it faded in only 3 weeks.
The only negative I have found is that because it’s a semi / stain, it does not last as long and the stain seeps into anything light coloured at the nape of the neck and hands when first shampooing. I also noticed couple after a couple of washes it fades and loses the vibrancy. If only Manic Panic could make this in a permanent version. It would be the best hair shade for me.
It just means I have to apply it again every 4-5 weeks.
This product is so easy to use wasn’t as messy I’ve been useing Schwarzkopf live Amethyst chrome and purple punk for a fe en months every 4-5 weeks over dark hair and now after useing manic panic purple haze it’s deffo lighter I’m in love with it will deffo use this again a only half a pot used so some for next top up
Does exactly what it says on the tin!! Tried a live purple but it didn’t take, my hair ended up rose gold.But manic panic came to the rescue. Absolutely love the colour!

I bleached my hair and tried a semi permanent hair dye from the supermarket but that was just a waste of time and money. Manic panic fixed the mess and my colour is amazing even mixed with conditioner.
It stains everything because the pigments are strong but it worths the trouble.
I’ll order again soon!
I was really surprised by how much the colour turned out on my black virgin hair. I just wanted a purple hue in the light and it came out soo nicely. On lighter hair i’m assuming the colour will pop alot.
As you’ll see from my before and after pics, this shade worked well on my natural brown, thin, unbleached hair. I’m very happy with my dye job. Easy to do at home, left on for 3h after using Noughty clarifying shampoo and blow drying my hair. I wore a shower cap while it was activating, and another couple of minutes under the hair dryer, before rinsing in cold water. Hair left smooth as if it was conditioned.
The finished colour is quite dark indoors, more of a descreet purple (which I was looking for as opposed to a fluo really out there colour), and super vibrant in the sun.
I’m not sure how long it will last, I guess it depends on how often you shampoo and what you use (I am using Noughty colour save).
I used just under a tub (long hair, but quite fine) and when I need a redye, I will mix the little bit of leftover (maybe 1/6th of the tub) with another tub (different shade of purple) I have leftovers of.
Okay so my hair naturally isn’t blonde, but it’s not dark either. I honestly just threw this on without bleaching to see what would happen… And personally, I like it a lot!
It does work, for me, on not so light hair but I’d say that if you have dark hair, you may need to lighten it a bit to get some colour to take.
I have thickish short hair, and I only used half the tub for my hair and it still took great for me. I do personally recommend it if you wanna try a wack colour, just make sure you have some gloves, a shower cap and towel (you don’t care about) ready!
Applied to light-medium brunette hair. Used much less than a full jar to fully cover hair (style is shoulder length, with a fringe; hair type is thick and wavy). Colour was great initially and, whilst it faded within 5 washes – using colour protecting shampoo – traces of green remained for about a dozen washes.
I love bright hair dyes and this is no exception, its easy to apply I leave it to sit for 4 hours and it comes out nice and vibrant. One thing I will say though is that on my hair this has a strong pink undertone that means in some lighting and photos it just looks pink rather than purple, which is a tad annoying as I wanted a true purple colour, but on different hair it might show up different. Otherwise it’s fab.
Bought this hair dye because i wanted a temporary change from normal colour. Dyed on natural medium/dark brown hair and did a good job. I did put the colour on twice and found the colour becomes clearer after a few days. Would buy again in future.
Love this hair dye, I paid 50 for a hairstylist to dye and cut my hair and wanted a brighter purple which I didn’t get so I thought I would try this, and oh my word it’s the purple I’ve been looking for, I have had so many comments on the colour will be definitely buying again, definitely recommend this produc
Great coverage, I dyed over previously dyed brown/orange hair and the colour is vibrant. The process was messy as the product exploded EVERYWHERE even though I tried to open it carefully, although I do think this could have been because it had just been delivered, the package was quite warm and it had been handed to me upside down (so don’t shake it).
It got on every surface and soft furnishing I have as well as spraying all up my arm. It comes out of soft furnishings really easily with washing up liquid but isn’t so easy to get out of skin.
I washed it out in the shower and have slight red streaks down my body despite scrubbing and although I wore gloves to apply, I think I should have also worn to rinse.
Wouldn’t advise using the day before a dressy event but fine if you’re not seeing anyone for a few days.
Would definitely recommend applying vaseline everywhere beforehand, especially neck and face.
Excellent hair dye, really different to box dyes. Applied to bleached hair as stated in all the instructions. Fantastic, vivid shade of purple. Fading now after about 4 weeks but still looking good.
Look brilliant have to leave it for couple of hours to get the best results last up to six washes
Really impressed with this. I had already tried using another product that I bought in the supermarket that came out really dull, even after bleaching the hair. But this dye has come out a really vibrant colour, just what I wanted. Very impressed, will defo be buying again.

Perfect purple. Always wash and dry hair first… no conditioner! Leave in hair for as long as possible. And wash out. Best results dont use hot water. Wash hair once a week in mild shampoo and use conditioner. Purple veteran at this. Colour lasts for ages.
Bought this to colour hair extensions which are a very yellow blonde colour. I used the hot water bath method and the colour came out perfect! I’ve used other brands and I always end up with a gross green-blue tint as there too much blue base in other brands purple dye and not enough red tone, which gets neutralized by the yellow in the blonde. But this colour was spot on! No blue effects! Hair extensions dyed to a rich violet purple. Love it and will be using Manic Panic from now on.
First time using this product. I was worried about staining on my skin, or it not taking to my hair, but I love it and it’s come out a lovely vibrant purple. I’ve been dying my hair for years using permanent colours which have ended up damaging my hair, hence going for a semi permanent this time. My hair is very porous as a result of the damage, hence I didn’t pre bleach. Manic Panic is a bit messier than my previous dyes, so I used a dyeing kit with brushes and cape, and I put vaseline around the hairline to prevent skin stains. I tried to follow instructions and comb into sections carefully, but was taking too long so I ended up using my fingers to put on all over including roots, then combed through. I used about 3/4 of the tub. I then stuck a shower cap on, and used a hairdryer on it for a minute or so (heat helps the colour) then left it for an hour while I soaked in the bath. Then rinsed out with luke warm water, conditioned using a comb and dried as normal. Very pleased with results, let’s see how long it lasts!

I have short hair so this one pot lasted me three dyes. I would recommend having bleached or light hair before applying to get the best results from it but it was a wonderful colour. I got a lot of compliments on it and I would definitely buy it again. For the best results as well, I would make sure that your hair is completely free of any other previous dyes before applying as this will mix up the colours.

I’ve bought a number of the vivid Manic Panic colours and each one has impressed me with its ease to apply and with the colour it achieves. I have found that I need a shade slightly darker to achieve the end colour I want, but that’s because I love the brighter, stronger colours. Lasts well especially if you wash with cool water and sulphate free shampoo and conditioner.
Recommend you invest in protective gloves to apply colouring as they will stain your hands for a few days.

But you don’t get much so I’ll have to see how long this stays so pretty before I decide if it’s worth the cost or not… but to be fair I didn’t use it straight since I mixed it half and half with conditioner. I’m kind of impressed

This is one of the few colours I go back to as it is such a beautiful one; at least fresh after dying it.
After one wash it fades to a dull version of the purple/blue and after the second wash it just washes to a dark blue. And then continues to fade until it is a very pale blue which stains for about 3 months in my experiences. So if you are patient or happy with those colours it’s great but as someone who enjoys switching it up it can be a little bit of a hassle

I leave this on overnight and I get silky smooth, beautifully coloured hair. It goes a bit more yellow than orange, so that could be a watch out.
Absolutely love this product! Super vibrant colour, compliments my dark brown hair perfectly and it holds for up to 4 weeks (I wash my hair twice a week).
The only down side is it does transfer quite a lot before the first few washes.

Awesome! My hair is so bright even without bleaching and this is the longest lasting purple I have used so far. Couldn’t be happier with the results.
Have tried other purple dyes on my hair an they have just left it with a strange tint. This product however, is literally the colour is says it will be and is a love deep purple on my ombr. Have washed hair several times after dying it and it has faded so little I can hardly tell. Will be trying out the range of colours. Also so happy it’s organic and not tested on animals!!
Beautiful colour, it lasted quite a long time (I left it on my hair for around 45 minutes). I recommend it. If you have long hair, it is better to buy two pots.

This coulor has amazing staying power and fades to quite a pretty minty four after about 4 weeks. If you mix in a little of this to your conditioner it lasts ages!
Lasts extemely well. I only had to touch up twice over 4 month period and I still have half of the tub left. It dies the hair without having to bleach it up first too but if you want a lighter colour then you’d have to have it professionally bleached firs

Absolutely love this colour didn’t think it would be as bright as it was.. Only problem wasn’t enough in the pot but I will be ordering again..
Turned most of my hair green as the bleach I used turned my hair too yellow so bear that in mind before you use it, however the roots (which were almost white before application) were perfect. I give 4 stars because the dye worked exactly as it was supposed too and the staying power is incredible! I’ve had it in my hair for over 2 months! And although it was faded after a month my hair is still distinctly green. I’ve ironically knocked off a star because it’s lasted too long. I wanted it to wash out quickly so I could get the bleach whiter and try again for blue but it’s taking such a long time.
After a first failed attempt with Siren Song I tried this shade and left it in a little longer: approx 1hr15 and 3 weeks later it’s still really nice and bright!
The colour does not last very long and washes out as soon as the next wash. Tip protect shower curtains as dye will stain it.
Love mixing this with a bright blue shade, makes a great turquoise when you do that doesnt turn lime green when it fades, i usually mix two thirds turquoise or blue and one third enchanted forest, long lasting, i can go up to 8 weeks before redying, great colou
REALLY fast deliver. Got it the next day and went for the free delivery. Does what it says. You have to have really blonde/bleached hair to get the best results though. I don’t imagine it would do anything to brown hair.
