I spent some time reviewing other products before deciding to buy this McCulloch chainsaw and I am very pleased with my purchase. Product arrived fully assembled ready for use unlike others. Visual quality looks good with smooth rounded case and good hand grips. Saw is perfectly balanced. Filled it with bio oil the saw was then so smooth cutting in use. It sliced through 300mm logs no problem in just a few seconds. Mains lead is a good length. Great product with plenty of cutting power.

It came fully ready except for the oil reservoir, which I filled from the pack I bought with it.
I have had a petrol chainsaw for several years and as I rarely use it now, it became difficult to start. There was also the hassle of mixing 40:1 petrol:oil in small quantities.
Having had an electric saw many years ago I decided to buy another and it works a treat.
The safety guard is also so much easier to operate than the old petrol one, which is reassuring.

This is a great elect. chainsaw. Have used a number of others but this saw is vastly better. Fast cutting, easy and safe to handle and most of all has a vary good safety break. Chain adjustment is easy, my only concern was that the plastic pin which adjusts the bar looked a bit fragile BUT it works and does the job. No need to worry about it. A Great buy why look at others.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWOW is all I can say – simply buy this (plus a large electric extension if you have a large garden like us). We have used this on MANY trees and branches. You MUST buy the oil it is essential if you want to use it many times like me. We have cut down 8 trees (mainly very thick hawthorns that have grown substantially and very large conifers). But fantastic results, this is much quieter than a petrol chainsaw and is much lighter. We had a farmer here the other day asking to try it out as he saw us use it and he had a lot of conifers to cut down and he couldn’t believe how good and quiet it was and he was going to order one when he got home. Now all the trees are down they have all been cut into logs and many very large logs we still had hanging around have also been cut down. After many days of heavy use we have now finally used the 1 litre bottle of oil. I wouldn’t hesitate to get this for anyone looking at a chainsaw. We have had 2 oil chainsaws in the past and both have broken down even when using the correct oils as per instructions. As we are only home owners you don’t get to use them regularly so they seize up and become useless, but I get the feeling this will not be the case with this electric one and in addition to that it is much cheaper than an oil powered chainsaw if it does seize up after being stored correctly for a few more years before it is used again so i won’t feel as annoyed. Although given how easy and light it is to use I am more likely to get this out and use it, rather than using a hand saw for when I just want to cut down the odd large bush / branch.

In stark contrast to my troublesome petrol-driven chainsaw, the Mcculloch is a dream to use. It’s very efficient to use, it’s powerful and does the job perfectly.

Fantastic and powerful compared to other I had tried. Would recommend this to all. MP

I would give this 5 stars if it had more power. Looks and feels great. Light weight, elec motor so hardle ant servicing (chain only). It’s good for light use, but struggled with thicker logs. Got the job done, but slower and definitely less powerful than an equivalent petrol.

A excellent chainsaw, this is the first electric chainsaw I have used, and prefer it to the petrol version. Would recommend this to anyone.

I did a reasonably big over-grown bush and with an hour’s use the chain became blunt. I think the machine is good but sharpening the chain is probably an ongoing need. There is also a need to add oil to lubricate the chain, I was not aware of this but it does use quite a bit and so is an additional expense, it is not a low maintenance garden tool. The electric power source is good and the power is plenty for moderate garden tasks. But the safety gear though and watch the instructional videos on the net if you are a novice.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersCame already assembled so no chance of fitting the chain the wrong way round as some have. At the first press of the trigger this machine felt powerful and ripped through seasoned logs with ease. I bought this to replace a Bosch chainsaw that constantly threw the chain even from new. I got so annoyed having to re-fit it, and having to unplug the cable each time for safety, that I decided enough was enough and went for the Mcculloch.

The one niggle is the chain bar has been fitted upside down. Okay, it doesn’t affect performance but I know I won’t be able to live with it like that for long.

Why Did I persist With Bosch For So Long ?

Glad to have this chain saw, it’s done a good job.

Yes it did as advertised. Set up was easy, putting in the oil was fine and cutting up tree stumps and logs was easy.
Maintaining the tension in the chain is easy to adjust.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWasnt sure what to expect from an electric saw but have been very pleased. The saw is easy to use and handle. I tens to grab this rather than the small petrol one as its just easier.

Needed to down some Leylandii trees in my garden and was being quoted obscene amounts by tree surgeons so I bought the chainsaw and got amongst it. The McCullogh was perfect. Did the job with ease and, as long as you keep the oil topped up, is still going strong after the event. Being electric limits you but if it’s a nearish p[lug job then it works very well

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOnly used it once but it’s brilliant larger than my previous chainsaw and better for it by comparison its lighter and a lot quieter, well balanced and for a saw it looks good I can’t fault it and I m very pleased and impressed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA good amount of power for an electric chainsaw. Has worked well on felling large conifers and pruning other large trees. Chain needs attention regularly to keep sharp and cut smoothly but that goes for any chainsaw.

Nice chainsaw with a 16 inch bar. Comfortable to hold and use at any angle. Good length of cable. Easy method of adjusting the chain tension.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersArrived day after ordering. Straight out the box, read the instruction book, not the best I’ve seen. Filled with oil, safety kit on and off to the first pile of logs. Wouldn’t cut through custard!!!!!!! Couldn’t believe it was so useless. Another look at the book and then off to the local chainsaw / mower specilaist who duly confirmed the chain had been fitted the wrong way round. Once sorted, returned home and thankfully works a treat now.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersAs we know chainsaws are potentially dangerous if the instructions are not followed. In an attempt to internationalise the product instructions are given in hieroglyphics with some written work in different languages. The instructions could/should include a folding card with the basics. 1 – equipment needed before operation, particularly safety gear. 2 – preparing the chainsaw for use before being connected to the mains. Chain oil is not supplied and it is not clear if you should load chain oil before use. It is not clear from the hieroglyphics how the chain brake lever works. The booklet was obviously written by someone who knows how it works. 3 – Safe methods of use – it is not clear from the hieroglyphics how use is recommended. What does the exclamation mark mean? Why not use ticks and crosses? My last important recommendation is that there should be an obvious indication on the saw when the equipment is live. You should not have to rely on running it to ensure power is live. Apart from all that it is excellent, but don’t cut through the mains cable. It is black and I would have thought a bright colour would be highly preferable.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersA splendid chainsaw, cuts better than a wider chain, dead simple chain tension adjustment, unlike a chaisaw made by a famous brand which has just one bolt to hold the chain support and adjust the tension very difficult. Strongly recommend McCulloch, safe simple and effective.
