It was a direct replacement for the unit that had failed which made installation easier.
Shower was easy to fit as screw holes and plumbing connections were in the same place as my previous Mira Sport Shower which lasted 11 years. Hopefully this one will have the same longevity. Excellent product.
This is the second Mira sport shower we have had installed. The first lasted 10 years. To save any additional pipe work we opted for the same model again as it served us well previously.
Bought this shower on May 11th 22, and it has just broken!!! I live alone so its only used once per day, the temp is out of control this morn ot went from scalding hot to freezing cold continually!! And nothing i did would regulate it!! I always bought mira showers but never again!! Disgusted!!!
We had same model Mira Shower so replacing it was straightforward – previous Mira Sport shower lasted 20 years
It’s an expensive electric shower which I had to install to replace an older version of the same model. Everything works fine and the fitting was easy but it looks ugly. Now I have to order other fittings to replace white plastic fittings. The previous version had chrome fittings which made it bearable. I tried other models which look better but had to replace the water pipe or extend wirings.
Looks good and more to the point it works well
Not quite as user friendly as the previous model only just fits in place
My 8.5kw shower was too powerful for the 6mm2 power supply I have so I was quoted between 550-1000 by a couple of companies to chase out walls, etc in order to upgrade the supply to 10mm2. Before I shelled out all that money and hassle of redecoration, I thought I would take a chance & replace my old shower with this less powerful 7.5kw shower. Works perfectly and we hardly notice the difference. At the time of writing, this was the best looking 7.5kw shower I could find after several hours scouring the Internet. I didn’t install as I got a plumber to do it so I have given it 3 stars as out to him a couple of hours but that included removal of the old. IMPORTANT he did forget to commission it which caused the shower to have erratic temperatures at the slightest touch of the thermostat on first use. To commission, simply go through each setting starting at the coldest temp and slowly turn up to the hottest. After I did that, it worked perfectly.
It can’t be installed if the piping comes straight out of the wall. For no apparent reason. It’s just in the instructions.
Really pleased with the shower, has more water pressure than our old one.
Bought to replace a Triton shower and I am very happy with this!.
Fitting is straight forward and should take max 1hr to install.
Very easy to use with various heat and spray settings.
Very nice quality and comes with 2yrs guarantee
This is brilliant, bought to bath the dogs but I love it!!
Installation easy even for a novice like me.
Temperature control is about sensitive and hot is scalding, but medium heat is comfortable.
Overall happy with the showe
Replaced my old Mira Enthuse. Very happy with the product. Works perfectly.
This was a like for like replacement due to old shower heating element packing in. Could have replaced element, but by the time I purchased that and then get an engineer out to fit, it was working out cheaper to replace the whole shower.
Great shower, always liked Mira they are so easy to install if you have a existing product. Performance wise it’s great if there was any bad points it would be that they seem to last about 3 years then they fail, overall this one seems superior to the old Mira sport shower.
Was easy to install as it was replacing previously installed with all plumbing and electrical.
Great little shower as only 7.5 KW. Had to buy this capacity as cabling would require major upgrade to accommodate a more powerful model. Provides an efficient flow and is ideal for the smaller shower cubicle.
This unit slotted right over his 10-year-old predecessor. I gave it a free uninstall because I didn’t install it myself but I’m told it was quite easy. The water pressure isn’t great but I think that’s the house as opposed to the shower.
Shower has not worked probably since installed.Amazon tells me to send it back. It has already cost me to have it installed also to have it examined. It will now cost me the same again to have it removed. Have asked Mira and Amazon to have service engineer to check same .Apparently this is not possible.
Replaced the older version of this shower. Easy to install as the connections were all the same. Only needed to drill one extra fixing hole.
Has worked fine since installing so happy with my purchase.
Bought this to replace a 15 year old Mira Sport. Works really well, and is so much nicer to look at than the old one. Shower head is great, with all the settings I need.
The shower unit is so easy to fit. Though the water inlet was on the opposite side to my old unit, the actual fitting was no problem. Excellent temperature and water control range.
Very happy with product and delivery.
Easy to order in sale, quick delivery. Easily installed by electrician. Temperature control not as gradual from warm to piping hot. Would have preferred thermostatically limited heat setting. Possibly why was sale item as usually find this a VG make.
Previous shower: Mira Sport 10.8 model J92C manufactured 02/01.
Our new shower functions very well, and we like it (function-wise) (so far). But…although their insides look almost identical, this new one is not quite the same as the old one.
1. NONE of the mounting holes lined up with those in the wall. The J92C had 4, for either three holes or a two-hole stud wall option.
2. This new shower’s water inlet is about 3/16 of an inch closer to the wall and a bit off to one side, relative to my J92C installation.
3. My supply pipe has an isolation valve located about an inch below where the bottom of the old shower was. Its upper nut falls inside the supply pipe opening in the bottom of the new shower, where there’s a some necessary structure. Mine requires a new pipe about an inch longer (not necessarily the new shower’s fault) and, if I could have done it, bent to fit precisely.
But, I am not tooled-up for bending 15mm copper tubes accurately and without damage, so I mounted our new shower roughly 3/16″ proud of the wall with three tap washers (extending all the other points of contact equally with soft non-porous stick-on chair leg feet). I made a new supply pipe about an inch longer than the original. I was careful to snug up the compression fittings with the new section of pipe aligned at both ends, and without straining the soft pivoting connection between the inlet elbow and the flow valve assembly, all the while making periodic adjustments to the shower unit’s position as and if required. No sealant was used in the gap behind, by the way – heed the manufacturer’s warning: NEVER seal around an electric shower!
Bottom line: It wasn’t a 10 minute job.
Knocked off a star for the flimsier and cheesier front cover with its chromed plastic and Hong Kong toy-style melted rivets
EDIT: restored the 5th star. Got used to its cheezy “design”. Also, I wanted to add that this shower works brilliantly with our old single spray shower head. I have also reduced our mains pressure at the tap (for another reason) and it still works brilliantly. Those negative reviews on Amazon that mention how you can’t have hot water and high pressure at the same time show that the reviewers do not understand how electric showers work. The water heaters have either one or two heating elements and whichever one is chosen will always just be full on. You cannot adjust their output. The only means of controlling the output water temperature is by the rate of flow, which you control with the control dial marked with hot and cold markings only. The water heater element is always either full-on or full off.
If you increase the “heat” with the dial you are actually turning the water down to a lower flow rate. It flows slower and so is exposed to the heating element that much longer. The reverse is true for reducing the water temperature. The faster the water flows through, the less is picks up heat. The water comes into your house plumbing at a warmer or cooler temperature depending on the seasons. I labeled my old shower’s medium and high buttons with summer and winter Dymo labels, and it was handy. It saved the whole bathroom from being sprayed in the summer. On this one, they have changed the labeling on the top control dial for the two heating elements (high power and medium power) with the Eco and High. The Low position still means “off”, i.e. no power to the heating elements.
Hope this helps people confused by the complaints in the negative reviews. You can’t complain about something that is physically impossible.
Just needed a direct replacement for an old Mira sport so went for this so that I didn’t have to change the plumbing or electrics. Hence it was easy to install and is working ok
Fitted really easily and makes a great replacement for my old shower. On the down side the water pressure does not seem as good as with the old shower but nevertheless still fine.
Bought this to replace a previous Mira Sport which would have almost as much to repair as the new one cost. so no brainer replace. The new one is a lot better than the old model. A really high quality item. Happy to recommend the Mira Sport 10.8 kw.
Superb shower – properly powerful, and looks less “plasticky” than many (even though it is clearly made of plastic!) We’ve only just installed it, so hopefully it will continue to be as good as it seems in the first few weeks’ of use.
My previous Mira Sport shower had done me well, lasting for 10 years, so I replaced like-for-like. It was installed without any additional holes in my tiles and looks fresh and clean. The shower head has more choices in flow. Overall very pleased.
Looks clean and smart, does the job. Nice range of sprays from the shower head. Simple set of controls: three heat settings (‘Eco’ is just included, as always, for people with the opinion that having a cold shower will help save a planet that needs saving) and a dial to control the force of the spray (which of course also affects the heat).
There’s also a separate power button. After powering the shower off, it continues to pump out warm water for a few more seconds – apparently a health-and-safety feature to avoid scalding if the shower is immediately turned back on again.
The shower head is enabled to slide up and down the pole easily with the push of a lever, then locks in place when the lever is released. Easily operated with one hand. A plastic soap dish attaches to the bottom of the pole.
That’s about it.
This was a replacement for a 12 year old Mira Sport 10.8kw shower. We were happy with the original shower and the replacement, if anything, seems slightly better. So no complaints about the shower.
My only concern is that the plumber who fitted the original had connected the water supply straight into the back of the unit, whereas Mira recommend fitting a bend so the water is either rising or falling into the shower unit. However, this would have been a major job to accomplish when fitting the replacement. Therefore, I have not fitted it in compliance with manufacturers recommendation.
Mira were very helpful when I asked why this was the requirement, and they said it was to relieve strain on the pipe work and connection point. In my opinion, the plumber had aligned the pipe work so the strain is very minimal, so I’ve taken a chance with keeping it the same (maybe famous last words, and I will get a new wet room instead).
Mira are just simply a better made shower with over run so the elements don’t burn out. Even the on/off button is better quality. The water pressure is quite good for an electric shower however the only negative point is the soap holder as this is not nearly as good as its competitors.
Original new shower at 9.8kW bought from a major who provided a bespoke installation service. Electrician examined wiring and was not rated for such a powerful shower. This Mira was bought as a rush job via Amazon Marketplace. It looks a treat and works well indeed.
Very pleased with the shower performance. However a part was missing which caused me to go to a supplier and het the part ehich enabled the plumber to install the item. Albert Trebilcock
When my old shower failed to work and parts no longer available I needed to find a suitable replacement without alterations to the shower cubicle. My old shower had electric mains terminated at the bottom left of the shower and water mains at the top left. Most modern showers have the opposite configuration. The other problem was the electric capacity as my distribution board and shower cable would only take a 30amp rating. This new shower allowed me to retain the electric supply and with minor alteration to the plumbing we fitted the shower without retiling. The description supplied by the vendor gave me the trust to order and fit this shower with the minimal disruption and cost. This is way I rate the transaction as 5 star.
I am a big fan of Mira sport showers. Always find them to be reliable. This is a newer design looking one and it looks great..The water gets lovely and hot even on the lower setting. Shower head has selection of settings..Its a lot of dosh but definitely value for money..Speedy delivery too.
Delivery time excellent from this company. Would have liked a more powerful shower but our cable didn’t support that so just replaced like for like. Looks much more modern though and we are pleased with the product.
Very pleased with the shower, it was even better than I thought it would be. It looks good too. Not very powerful, however this is to be expected from a 7.5kw shower. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs to get a 7.5kw shower.
Bought this to replace exactly the same shower previously fitted in 2005. The main body casing is slightly longer than the old version, so had to drill one new hole in bathroom tiles (‘old hole’ covered by the unit). That was it – easy to fit, fantastic performance !
