I got mine to replace an identicle model that had packed up after about fifteen years use. The old one came straight off the wall and the new one went straight on, all with about half an hour of work. That’s what I wanted and that’s what I got – brilliant. Works fine!
Great unit, and build quality wipes the fllor with similarly priced.
3rd one, last worked for 4 years until mixer valve went, previous older model lasted about 6 or 7 and had a new mixer in that time ( plus 3 TCO and a solenoid)
Plastic does start to pack in/crumble and threads etc go after about 4 years.
TCO valves last about 2 yrs, and are a pain to swap in this model (plumbing disconnect essential).
They have fixed the solenoid issue, last one had 1 solenoid and 2 TCO’s before scrapping.
The Mira Sport has three power settings and a separate temperature control dial, allowing you to choose the combination of temperature, water flow and spray pattern that works best for you. There’s also a soap dish on the shower rail so you have somewhere to keep your soap or shampoo. The water flow rate is reasonable on its highest power setting, helping ensure you get a lovely shower with plenty of hot water to wash away soap and shampoo. And when the temperature changes because someone uses mains water elsewhere in your home, the shower quickly corrects itself. The Mira Sport also has an eco mode that reduces water flow, cutting the amount of water and electricity you use; and therefore reducing bills. This is a huge benefit especially during the current energy / cost of living crisis
I agree with Which? that it
Has good flow rate
Maintains a steady temperature
Copes with a drop in water pressure well
Is easy to use
Well made, functional and does what it says on the tin. Extremely satisfied.
This is a really good shower for the price. It has a large shower head which I really like and really good temperature control. It’s not too bulky either , thin and quite long.
Bought cheaper showers in the past, only last a couple of years. Can see the difference in quality straight away. Excellent unit. Very pleased
Some fiddly bits in new design NOT present in previous model I installed. However the shower works satisfactorily.
I previously owned the earlier model of this shower & while I found it to be reliable with powerful jet, the temperature stability when any other water appliance was used was dreadful. The temperature could vary from freezing cold to boiling hot within an instant.
After reading previous reviews on this site, it appeared that this new Thermostatic version maybe he answer to my prayers.
Although I employed a professional plumber for the install, the changeover from old to new was very smooth, taking him less than 20 mins all done.
While initially skeptical of the claim that this shower could deliver the promised temperature stability. After 4 weeks since install, I have been very impressed with the performance of this shower. It maintains a constant temperature no matter what other water appliances are used. It’s done all it claimed it would. Made showering a pleasurable experience again
Would definitely recommend
Good quality shower which I bought to replace a similar Mira Sport. Very expensive though! Had to get it as it was a direct replacement for the old one. Other brands would have meant a lot of modification inside the shower cubicle. Works nicely and happy with it despite the 250 price tag!
Nice mid range shower. Easy to operate with intuitive temperature controls. Would recommend.
Had the Mira Supreme for Best part of 20 years so had to be Mira again I went for the Sport … I installed the unit and Commissioned it per the instructions….. Spot on! Very pleased with i
Bought to replace previous Mira sprint model. It was still working after at least 15 years of service but the white case was showing its age. I had to alter water ingress but not a big job. Hopefully this new model will be as reliable.
Luckily the description of the damage to the external box was correct, for which I am grateful.
The item is amazing. Good temperature control than the Airboost one.
Only took the plumber 20 mins to take the old one out and put the new one in. Only had to drill one new hole and all not visible from the outside.
Does what it says… Thermostatic Electric Shower, has a decent head size and the 9KW version is sufficient for a reasonable shower. Although I had to change the plumbing around and re-route the supply wires it was simple to install and commission.
Good product, good company to deal with as it arrived next day, would definitely recommend !!
Replaces existing Mira Sport which expired after years of use. Professional installation well executed
Works absolutely fine except for one small design “feature”…
You stand inside the shower curtain, press the button to start, nothing happens because you forgot to turn on the main electricity supply to the shower. So you pull back the shower curtain, leave the bathroom and turn on the main power switch…then the shower bursts into life immediately and sprays water all over the bathroom because you already pressed the start button on the shower!
Assuming the mains power is actually on, you need to hold down the start button for a couple of seconds while the flow gets going otherwise the flow stops as soon as you release your finger from the button.
The mains cable to the shower does get a little warm because it is draining 9.8KW. Can’t blame the shower for that, but make sure that the house wiring to the shower is substantial enough for 9.8KW, (45 amps) and that you have an RCD safety device somewhere along the cable route.
The thermostatic control seems to work quite well. The rate of water flow automatically changes as the unit tries to maintain the temperature that you set on the dial.
The unit almost fitted the same template as my old Mira Sport shower, but unfortunately not quite. I had to drill one of the screw holes in a slightly different place. Luckily I didn’t need to relocate either the cable or pipe entries through the wall.
I can’t tall for the installation, but this shower works well and blows hot. Having used it for 3 months, the temperature doesn’t seem to fluctuate in temperature.
Works well. This is the 3rd we have had since 2006, so they are lasting not quite 6 years.
We were able to replace the old one without too much difficulty.
Very good shower. The pipework options are all a little fiddly though if the pipe is coming straight out of the wall.
his is the better thermostatic version and I have fitted a few of these and never had any complaints. Plenty of power and controls the temperature to the T especially as it is the thermostatic version.Well done MIRA another good shower on your list….j.
This shower is fairly powerful and the head is adjustable between the stops so you can get a nice drenching spray when washing your hair. Only 4 stars because it is not easy to get it to the right temperature without fiddling with the dial. Otherwise recommended.
