Whilst not the cheapest product out there this is well worth the money and solidly constructed, it works well and claims to operate for about a year on good AA battery’s, I’ve installed this in my caravan toilet so it switches on automatically when entering and only operates during the darker hrs.

Bought one of these for my en suite and place under the on the wall next to the sink unit plinth. The light is pretty bright and lights up plenty of the floor space. Really easy to install with the double sided tape. Replacing batteries is easy because the unit simply unclips from the plastic back plate which is stuck to the wall. Will buy another of these for my downstairs toilet.

These are brilliant (pardon the pun) and so easy and versatile. Stick one in a dark cupboard and another on the stair landing for those toilet visits in the middle of the night. They are my best buy for a long time.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersLast one lasted four years by our front door and did a great job. Time to order another as its just stopped working.

It was very sensitive to passing cars, so I put a large blob of bluetac next the the sensor and it worked perfectly well, still coming on when you walk up to our door. Plenty of light.

As I type this my Mum is in our bathroom at night, no need to turn on the main light (and noisy fan) as we have another Mr Beams in there. Daughter stays asleep. Perfect for middle of the night visits too.

Cancel that, the old dear just pulled the cord on the big boy light and likely will wake up our daughter. Maybe Mr Beams can make a granny attack alarm…

Needed a light at the top of our stairs as it is so dark that it is dangerous. Saves turning the main light on and waking family up. It works well on movement and lights the area you need lit up.

Bright enough to illuminate a bathroom at night but not so bright that it dazzles. Time-out is a bit on the short side (10-15 seconds) but bright enough. Movement sensor is sensitive enough.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe’ve had a larger light from this range for our garden shed so thought we’d try these in the house. One is in the cupboard under the kitchen sink and the other is in one of the loft spaces where we store the Christmas decorations.

Both are perfect for each space. They don’t glare but do give a broad spread of the light (unlike some LEDs) which is plenty both for the small cupboard (my wife loves it) and for the loft it floods light around a 10’x8′ space so I am happy too.

They are motion activated which is handy for saving batteries. They fit to the surface either with a (supplied) sticky pad or with a couple of screws through the base plate.

Tried to cancel this order mainly because of delivery time, but was not quick enough, as it had already been dispatched. However glad I didn’t manage to cancel the order, as it arrived before time and not only that it is quite bright when it is dark. I set it up in daylight and it didn’t look as if it would be any good, but it is just perfect not that bright that it dazzles you but just right for what I wanted it fo

So easy to fit & works like a dream to add light to our dark doorway without having to wire it in. The PIR function is smooth and well-timed; the adhesive strong; the unit is good looking, discreet and looks robust.

Bought several of these now. Very pleased with them, they are well made, relatively substantial, and have a surprisingly long battery life. These are excellent for navigating dark corridors and overnight trips to the toilet. They are an absolute must to take away with us on vacation……Highly recommended…..

Does e actly as it says. In our family we have one in the main bathroom so the toddlers can go to the loo at night without having to switch lights on. Very impressive movement detection, good spread of light and it is certainly quite a good fairly bright light. Its not mains bright obviously. I would like to be able to change the duration for longer because when the kids sat on the loo and it goes out…approx 30 secs I think u have to tell them to move a little bit to switch it back on. Bearing in mind they are half asleep lol. If using as a foot light I reckon u won’t go far wrong. One of these in the bathroom does the job for us 🙂

I needed a sensor light to light up some dark steps but when received I discovered (in the fine print) that the light was for indoor use only. I tried to use it through a window but it wouldn’t work. Eventually with a bit of ingenuity and thin clear plastic I have the light in position and a set of well lit steps.
Could I suggest that you put the term “for indoor use only” more prominently on your packaging and instrutions.

arrived in good time, well packaged and reasonably priced. gives a good bright light in the en suite and saves turning on main lights. stays on for probably a good ten seconds or so after movement ceases.

We have an understairs cupboard which is a little dark so got one of these to light it up, works perfectly – open the door and the light goes on and stays on whilst in there and the goes off after 20 seconds or so once the door is closed. Easy to fit.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersA good buy as our wet room has a fan attached to the light switch and therefore the fan comes on when you switch the light on. It’s no big deal in the day but in the night it can wake people up. We use this light instead of the main light in the night and it is fine. Not a very very bright light but enough to see by. Also, be careful of the positioning as either it will come on when you walk passed it or it will go off when you least expect it to and you have to wave your arms or legs in front of it to make it come on again. If you get the positioning right though, it is good to use and easy to start using.

Once you work out how to get it working, its great, i didn’t even need to stick it just propped it up in the cupboard so i can move it if i want to. It comes on as soon as the cupboard is opened and goes off after 20 seconds when you close it.

This does what is says on the tin. I use it ion a bend in my stairway for my family’s safety at night. It’s good and bright. Only niggle is that it continues to work in daylight which wastes the battery so if I remember I turn it round to face the wall in the morning which effectively temporarily disables it.

I needed to replace the light in our under stairs cupboard! When I read reviews for this item I knew it would be better than the old one! I wasn’t wrong as it is brilliant!
Being motion detector activated you don’t have to scramble about trying to find the switch and the brightness is amazing for such a little unit ! Well recommend to brighten up your cupboards etc!!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersRRP very high but it IS a very good product. PIR works from 4m and works well! Only activates in the dark to save on battery power. Apparently can be used outside but haven’t tested this yet. I have this one inside a cupboard and it activates as soon as the door is opened, basking the entire 3mx1m space in bright warm-white light :).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery good. I bought one of these to use in a store cupboard that I use to store shoes in. It lights up when I open the door. Great product – dependable motion/light sensor and a reasonable time that it stays on. I chose to use 3M command strips to mount as opposed to the supplied double sided mounting adhesive or screws, and it has remained mounted above my main entry door with no issues.

  36. GladisSaucedo says:

     United Kingdom

Works perfectly as it is advertised. I bought it with intention to avoid main halogen light visiting bathroom at night. It subtly lights the room not hurting unnecessarily my eyes and distributing my night’s state of bliss. The movement sensor responds very well even in pitch black darkness.

  37. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

I cannot comment on the longevity of the device yet, but the initial reaction is that its a nice bit of kit.
The sensor senses general movement rather than “body movement”, so will also trigger when the door opens etc.

Comes with a handy mounting plate.

The only downside is that it takes quite a few batteries

No adjustments but does its job admirably: rechargeable AA’s last for months. Far superior to cheaper alternative bought at Swedish furniture/homeware chain (whose unit drained batteries perhaps five times as fast). Only real downside: the adhesive fixing tape failed to hold the unit onto tiles after a couple of years

This gizmo was in use on our garden shed to cover the bin area before we got an outdoor light fitted. It did a fine job there for over a year, and is now on active service in our smoking shelter at work. Everyone who sees it in action there wants to know where I got it, so Mr Beams will probably do well out of this little light’s new role!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our Usershese are great for me as we have an issue with lights on the landing and the stairs (apparently mice like eating electrical wire and apparently I’m too cheap to re-wire the house). There are reviews that say they are quite dim. Well, I bought a 3 pack and then subsequently bought 2 separates (I’ve only received one so far because I only ordered the 3rd yesterday) and I can confirm the first pack of 3 were all about as bright as the light on an iPhone 5. The one that came separate, however, is only about 3/4 of the brightness of the others. When you compare the 2 you can see a much darker yellow filter over the LED. So I suspect there are some quality control issues.

Mainly this sin’t an issue. It is, however, and issue if you put them close(ish) to each other as you can see the difference in the light colour. This is why I have only given 4 stars. That issue aside they are great.

One thing I will mention is that in the picture it looks like the front panel lights up. This is not the case. The front panel is just a white plastic sheet. The light is a small LED in the top (just below the sensor) that shines onto the white plastic and the reflection casts the light.

Still very good though. I’d definitely recommend them.

    Really happy with the product:

    Pros:
Can be attached to a wall
The amount of light output is perfect for our bathroom
    Great value

    Cons:
The timer seems quite short, and it goes out mid toilet break haha
The sensor isn’t super sensitive and sometimes you have to wave your arms around to get it to come back o

Excellent handy light. We needed a light for our porch but had no electrical access so bought this as a cheap alternative so that we could find our keys.

This light is attractive, small & has a right LED light.

The light was easy to attach to the wall (we stuck it on). The battery life is good & the sensor sensitive. It works just as we hoped & is a great little gadget. Very pleased.

I really like these nightlights for the stairway and bathrooms. During the night their light is ample for navigating the bathroom and the child-safe stairgates without turning on the big lights and disturbing the good (i.e. sleeping) children! The build quality is excellent. I use them free standing so haven’t tried the supplied fittings. I get best results with non-rechargable batteries.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersExcellent little light – gives off a HUGE amount of light which makes going to the loo so much safer for we doddering old 80 year-olds! In fact I will order some more to replace smaller and less bright ones before winter and longer nights really set in. Another case of “you get what you pay for!” An extra advantage (so simple I`m amazed that every manufacturer of similar lights hadn`t already made it as standard) is that it has a small plate that you stick to the wall, so that the actual light fitting is EASILY removable and replaceable for maintenance. You can, of course, screw it to the wall – everything is provided. The plate has two small studs which fit easily into two corresponding holes in the back of the light – you just slide it upwards a fraction to release it.

I intend to replace ALL my old motion sensor lights with these. If you have pets – suggest you place them high enough so that pets don`t set them off – they give a bigger area of light that way in any case.

1 star lost as the IR detector’s performance a little unpredictable, but it’s cheap and does the job. Light is okay to get dressed in a dark bedroom without startling anyone.

I was looking for a compact battery light for my under stairs cupboard and found this on Amazon. Easy to fit and I run it of some rechargeable AA batteries which have so far lasted for over a month without a recharge. The motion detection works great and there is no danger of forgetting to turn it off. Ideally I would of liked it to be slightly brighter but it does the job fine.

Great Night Light, the greatest thing for me is that it stands up so can literally put it anywhere. Great range well made, the only downside is it doesn’t have a off button so have to turn it round when not needed.

  51. WendellClouse says:

You wouldn’t think these would make a big difference in your safety and comfort, but they do. They work exactly as advertised, coming on when they detect motion for about half a minute and giving a very bright light. I have one sitting discretely on the floor a the top of a stairs and another tucked in the corner on a landing. Now when I go down there at night all I do is start walking and the lights come on ahead of me, no fumbling for the light switch or having to put down what I’m carrying.

My mother uses them on her stairs for her dogs, so they can come down the stairs to the dog door at night and she doesn’t feel she needs to get up and turn on the light for them.

A truly remarkable little light.I bought it to use in the bathroom as the normal lights are connected to a loud extractor fan capable of waking up the entire household! This unit does the job perectly and in complete silence! It has a very good motion sensor and great illumination and is still using the original batteries. Mr Beams products may be a little more pricey than others advertised, but in my opinion well worth it.

  53. Anonymous says:

Great product. I purchased one for between the landing/bathroom and this is just perfect as it gives off a bright but not dazzling/blinding light – which is just want I wanted for this part of the house. I have since purchase a couple more for other areas of the house and all work really well. All lights are regularly in use and the batteries have lasted over 6 months – which I think is good considering how much use the compact lights get used.
I would highly recommend this product and would have no hesitation in purchasing additional lights should I require.

    This has been absolutely brilliant.

I first bought this light about 3 years ago, for my little boys, so that in the night they can go for a pee without me leaving the bathroom light on. They thought it was magic when I first got it haha. Now they are older and I have just replaced my old one as my youngest dropped it and it stopped working. Lets hope this last 3 more years. We all think its great for the toilet at night, and so do friends when they stay over. Brilliant for toilet training. All mums should get one :).

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBrilliant bit of kit. Put it in an en-suite so it comes on at night when you go in the room and doesn’t disturb my partner. Stays on for 30 Secs which is fine to see what you are doing or you can wave your arm around and it will come on again for another 30 secs. Would be great anywhere that you need short term light just to get your bearings e.g. an outside porch (I imagine it isn’t weatherproof so would need to be sheltered) or top or bottom of stairs. I’ve been lazy and stuck it on the wall with the sticky pads temporarily but it comes with screws and backplate so is easily removable to change batteries whether stuck on or screwed to the wall. Amazing just how much light it gives in a dark space, may well get another for the other en-suite so guests don’t have to stumble around either if they don’t want to disturb others’. Really good value and saves messing around with re-wiring etc. Neat enough to be unobtrusive. A good buy imho.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat product. Wasn’t sure how good it will look or how well it will work. I bought them on sale in December as I needed somthing like this. The amount of light from it is perfect for what I need. These are not supposed to provide a large amount of light but enough to see when it is dark and in this it performs perfectly. The motion sensor works really well. It picks up motion really well and from a good distance. Also, it stops lighting up if there is sufficient light. I initially bought two and am getting more. I would recommend this to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHaving previously owned a Philips SpotOn LED Motion Sensor Light which broke after 2 years I bought this Mr Beams based on the high number of positive reviews and I am glad I did.

The light emitted from the Mr Beams is more diffuse than the Phillips which was very direct light. This suits me better as the Mr Beams is used in our under the stairs cupboard and the unit tends to light more of the space. It appears that the LED light is directed to an angled plastic part of the case which then reflects the light out and down. If you’re lighting an area you’ll want to mount the unit high up on a wall to get best light from it.

A minor criticism is that the unit isn’t very stylish – it looks like the case was moulded in a vacuum forming machine – the sort you had in A-Level D&T. It is robust and well-built though. The sticky pads supplied have kept the unit stuck for the last 2 months. Am considering a couple more to light the pathway in the garden.

Bought one for a coat cupboard that needs a light but has no source nearby. Over a year ago and I haven’t needed to change the battery yet. However, as a cupboard light it really isn’t bright enough. Probably best used outside, as intended.

Design is odd. This picture makes it look like there’s a frosted diffuser in front of the bulb. There isn’t; it’s just an angled plastic background in white, like a wedge in a frame, if you know what I mean, that bounces the light from the LED bulb.

Brilliant….our guests can find the toilet without putting on the main light at night. Everyone who comes remarks on it. Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is the fourth one I have purchased, 1 in the shed, 1 in the cupboard under stairs, 1 in garden store and now one by front door as nights get darker. Bought the first one about 2 years ago and been in shed ever since, not changed batteries (used fairly cheap AA) since having any of them. I originally bought a solar light for front door for about 20 which was rubbish as it went off if the wind blew or anything moved within 20 metres. 100% recommend this product, it’s got a very good balance of sensitivity. Not sure if it’s strictly weather proof but been in a cold damp shed for 18 months

Having already fitted an MB530 version from Beams in my porch, I got this similar version to put at the top of the stairs for night-time trips to the loo etc. No wiring required and rapid switchoff when no movement and so I expect the batteries to last. Good product.

Its tricky to undo and then you pop in the 4 batteries It can be screwed in place or luckily for me a sticky pad it comes with holds it up. My shed is like a little shop with pet food loo rolls tinned foods etc but no electric to have a light in so i have this. Its light enough to root around at midnight for a jar of coffee and turns on when you enter and turns off shortly after you leave.

I fixed this into a ‘standard’ airing cupboard, which was not much bigger than the hot water tank. It switches on very well when the cupboard door is opened, The only point to note is that this consists of a single LED and therefore does not produce as much light as say an LED torch.

Will be a short review as let’s face it, it’s a light.

The battery powered item has been installed for quite some time now (about a year) and works very well, is still on its first set of batteries and not failed. The light is sufficient for its size and the sensor works well only after dusk. Recommended if you need a little light in a difficult place.

I bought this for night-time use in my Bathroom. As a replacement for a similar “LavNav” Traffic-Light(Red &Green LED’s)style light that had become erratic in operation after several years useage due to moisture damage-corrosion of the Battery-Contacts.
The Mr Beams MB750 LED light seems well designed with a highly sensitive IR-Sensor and single LED giving a soft Downlighter type effect. and the Battery-Compartment is protected against corrosion by a Rubber O-Ring type Seal. So hopefully should last.?

  73. Kim Bullock says:

This light is very basic but absolutely perfect. It only switches on in low light and for approx 30 seconds when triggered. We have a step in our corridor and if I get up in the night I am forever either tripping up or down it. This can detect you far enough in advance to provide a very low light which is more than enough so you can see where you are going without waking everyone else up! We bought two and put one in the bathroom to save switching the light on in the night and risking waking our babies. Doesn’t need to be wall mounted. One of ours sits against the skirting board and the other sits on top of the loo!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have just bought another of these lights for a second bathroom in the house. My bathrooms have noisy pull-chord lights which also activate an extractor so we avoid using them at night. These motion-activated lights are an excellent alternative : they give a soft light but it’s enough to see your way around at night. They remain on as long as you’re moving so the battery isn’t wasted. They are easy to attach with the sticky pad which is very strong, although mine are sat on top of the toilet and the sticky pad just helps to keep them in place. This is a highly practical and affordable item ; I highly recommend it !

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was after a night light for our bathroom for when our 3 year old twins got up in the middle of the night for the toilet but thought that aplug in type situated on the landing (facing the stairs and not the bathroom) would not throw enough light in to the bathroom. But then I found this little beauty and after reading some of the reviews thought that I’d give it a go and I am so glad that I did!!!

Forget about the reviews that say this product is poorly made or isn’t bright enough because it isn’t either (unless you are expecting it to be made of gold or light up the whole back garden in the dead of night!!!!!).

Our bathroom is only small (about 6′ 6″ square) but its left on the window sill opposite the door and with the door left open (so it will activate as soon as they leave their room) it will trigger from about 4 meters away and is plenty bright enough to allow you see what you are doing without blinding you and the little ones by putting ‘the big light’ on!!!!! It even adequately lights the landing outside the bathroom.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBright and easy to place as it runs on battery.

I used this for a hallway at night where there is no convenient mains outlet and light switch is out of the way. Brighter than I expected (for a small battery operated light), and more flexible than using a light that has to be plugged in or is on all the time when it is dark.

Bought it for use outside above a back gate, but soon found out it was totally useless there. Now sits on the back of the toilet door and saves using the light at night with the air extractor turning on as well. Now the wife sleeps better at night without the noise. She loves it!

It’s very dark at night where we live and with the coming of winter we needed some way to see the keyholes for our front door. I’d considered wiring in an outside light but then a quick search here threw this little beauty up. It’s small, and the light isn’t terribly powerful compared to wired lights, but it is absolutely perfect for the job.

It was very easy to install with the mounting bracket and it does the job superbly. Proximity sensor works just as expected and the light is more than adequate to guide key to keyhole.

Only been in use a couple of months so no idea how long battery will last. However, just for a quick and easy way to light outside this is perfect.

We bought a couple of these for indoor use in order to help our short sighted little dog find it’s way round the house during the night. We just used the sticky pads provided to attach them to the lower wall and they work a treat. Not too bright and easy to set up. An off switch would be handy though as they tend to start working at dusk. I can see many indoor and outdoor uses for these lights. Very handy

I bought this to put in my en suite so that I wouldn’t wake my partner by turning on full light which also turns on fan. I’m very pleased with it, it’s not quite as bright as I expected but it definitely does the job. Good buy.

This works really well. The only complaint I have is there is no on/off switch. You have to unscrew the back panel and take the batteries out if you don’t want it to be permanently working. Since it’s designed for wall mounting this is a really stupid design error. I am making a black flap to cover mine so I can kid it into thinking no one is passing so it won’t come on.

We have this on the window ledge so we didnt even need to screw or stick to a wall which is fab – means we can move it about. Just right amount of light and duration for a night light! In depth it isnt the narrowest so if you wanted a streamline effect when fixed to a wall, then may stick out more than some would like but that isnt an issue for us at all. Highly recommend!

PS We have since bought more of these – so indication we must be happy!

I’ve had mine for more than two years. It doesn’t get used very often – hence the batteries have kept going until now. BUT when I opened the case I found the batteries were leaking acid! It hasn’t damaged the light, but it does burn its way through paper and the polished surface of furniture if it gets on it!

I guess I’ll make sure I change the batteries more often or go for re-chargeables.

I would highly recommend this item. I bought this as I have a 4 year old and when ever i switched the bathroom light on during the night the noise would wake him up so I bought this light. It was easy to attach to the wall and it comes on automatically when i walk into the bathroom at night. It is very useful for when my son uses the toilet in the night and cant reach the light cord.

I put one in my porch to avoid leaving the porch light on. It detects up to 5 metres away as soon as I get out of the car (or it picks up the heat of the engine). The light is best described and gentle but is sufficient to find your keys and the lock.
Your could use it in a child’s bedroom as it will not wake them up when you go in.
    Good value.

Had this outside my front door at first and even though it wasn’t as bright as I’d hoped, it was helpful. Although, the adhesive attachments were not great, so had to add my own double sided tape as it fell once or twice, but clearly it’s a tough little light as it didn’t damage it. I’ve now got it in my bathroom and it’s great for when you need to pop out of bed in the night without turning on any bright lights! So very happy I bought it. Handy if you can’t connect an electrical light.

Bought this after reading good reviews on Amazon. Wanted something that would provide enough light for our 3 year old to take herself to the toilet in the middle of the night. For such a small light, its very powerful and provides just enough light to see but without waking you up too much. The sensor works perfectly too, as soon as you walk into the bathroom door it lights up. Also good to know you are only using the battery when its needed, far better than leaving the landing light on all night which is what we used to do. Great value product.

It functions fine. Just don’t expect it to light up a wide area. It shines a dim light onto a small arc which is fine for finding the keyhole in the door at night, but it isn’t going to put off any intruders. But at this price you can’t expect much more.

Good sensor – works only at night.
Lights up a porch well enough to find the keyhole.
When I got it,and found only one small SMD led,I thought this looks a bit crap,
but works well enough thanks to the light reflecting off the white panel beneath it.

Would give 5 stars for another 2 led’s (come on fellas, they’re only pennies each)

cheap plastic, not a good looking product and not something you want “on display” for me its in an airing cubord and lights up the top of this area very well when the PIR senses you.would I buy more – no , not at this price , if it was 5-8 quid i would !

This is a great light, it sat in our bathroom for 4 years and gave enough light that you did not need to switch the main light on when you took a nocturnal visit. It’s also lightweight and so taking it on holiday is easy. It has just failed after 4 years, which is a shame as I would have preferred it to last longer. But we will buy another.

I bought one for my elderly neighbour ofr use between her bedroom and bathroom. Her rating was so good, I bought one for myself for the same reason.

Having had similar devices in the past, I was surprised at the battery usage for the Mr Beam. I’ve had it installed for 2 months and am still on the first battery set.

Also unlike previous units, it doesn’t come on in the day or when other lights are on, hence the long battery life.

Seems like I got a faulty one (maybe not so uncommon seeing the other reviews?) – as my one always turns on in daylight everytime motion is detected and not just in the dark as advertised 🙁

UPDATE 26/01/13: 2 weeks later and it now seems to work correctly – only turning on in the dark – not sure why it wasnt working initally.

i would recomend this light to anyone infirm or sick my husband has parkinsons disease and i have been looking for something like this. as he is no longer afraid to get up during the night. it has also helped me as i used to have to waken up during the night to put a side light on. Now we are both getting a good night sleep. Thank you

This works fine for me as a porch light. It’s not amazingly bright, but perfectly adequate.

I wouldn’t recommend the double-sided sticky pad, though – I stuck it to the inside of a UPVC door, and after less than 2 weeks it fell off. Plan B – use the supplied screws instead.

On the plus side, the light survives a drop onto tiles.

This product is well made and very good value for money. I would gladly buy it again. It worked as stated and met my need perfectly.
It was bought to help someone getting out of bed at least 5 times nightly with an incontinence problem. To begin with the device was attached to the wall adjacent the headboard to illuminate a nearby commode. An initial problem was it would turn on whenever the sleeper moved in the bed. To make it insensitive to this a cardboard panel was stuck (with double-sided adhesive tape) to the bed side of the device, effectively screening it from seeing bed movements. Only when legs swung out of bed did it come on. For trial purposes it was attached to the wall with the adhesive pad. This did not last and after a few days it fell off. It was then screwed in place.

I often wished I could have one of the little nightlights I’ve seen in American homes. They are perfect for any nighttime bathroom visits, because you don’t have to turn on the main light and dazzle yourself, and there’s less chance of waking anyone else up. When we got back from America recently I started searching for an equivalent, and ordered the Mr Beams, and it’s worked out very well. We’ve placed it quite high so that the cat won’t turn it on when she’s roaming around, and it gives enough light without being too bright, which is perfect when your eyes are adjusted to the dark.

I originally bought this for outside but I found it unsuitable. I really needed a stronger light. I use it now in the bathroom and it works a treat. The only hiccup with the product is that the adhesive strip they supply with the product came away from the wall in a couple of days. I like the fact that the motion sensor only works when it gets dark, as there are some on the market that don’t have that function and waste a lot of battery power in the process.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEasy to setup and install.
On looking for a suitable position for my alarm keypad and the sensor light on the landing (turning the alarm on/off when going to bed or getting up during the night) I noticed that the sensor light was prone to coming on randomly, I discovered this only happens when the central heating is on, as the sensor was virtually over the top of the radiator. I positioned it on an adjacent wall and no longer have this problem and works great, although mentioned on other reviews my light comes on when it becomes overcast with the weather, so not very dark but like a dull dingy type of day, during the night it is spot on.

    2 worthwhile notes:
Do not fix directly over a radiator or heat source.
Do not position where it will pickup constant movement or reflection (i.e. directly in front of a window).

This is a great light but keep in mind it is a PIR and is quite sensitive and at a fairly wide span so keep this in mind when deciding a position for a PIR unit before buying it.

It lost a Star because it should explain this to customers.

    Definitely recommend this light.

    Hope this helps.

Very pleased with this little light. It sits in our Greenhouse and means I can still pop in on dark winter evenings to make sure everything’s ticking over in there. Just enough light to see by, a tiny LED shines onto the white backing which then reflects it into the room and comes on instantly when the door is opened. I can’t yet tell how long the batteries will last for but as it’s a little LED being powered by an entire bank of batteries I’m guessing a long time.
