I got this because I have the lawn mower from the same manufacturer and it’s very good.
For a low price product this strimmer is great
It isn’t overly robust and the battery life is average but for what you pay it’s worth i
This is a very good strimmer and lawn edger, the only criticism is, when you are edging the lawn there is no indication or mark where there cutters are. I cut chunks of my lawn off trying to find out where the cutters were cutting. There should be an indicator or cutting mark you can work to.

This is cordless, has flexibility with the head orientation and auto spooling of the trimming line. This is much better than my previous one and very pleased with it.
Cannot compare with others and battery life is a critical factor which again I cannot comment on, but this was surprisingly light and well balanced. As you get older this matters and my old one now feels like a lead weight. How easy to replace wire? Next concern really but for now, well pleased. Easy to assemble but 650 page manual is silly!

Light weight and quick to charge the battery. would like another battery.
Love this, the best thing is battery is compatible with other murray tools. Quick charge, good cutting easy to handle.
Great weight wise and battery lasts for as long as I use it for approx 1hr, hasn’t run out yet.
Wire a bit thin doesn’t cut through thick grasses very well. Be better with a larger spool to add thicker wire. I like the fact it refills the wire automatically when it breaks, that was my bug bear on my last strimmer.

New and works well. I am really pleased with the purchase. It was well packaged, with manuals on safety instructions. Using, charging, storing the battery and clear assembly information.
Works well but a bit on the heavy side compared to my old corded stimme
Perfect companion to go with my Murray cordless lawn mower. Works absolutely perfectly, though a little tricky to hold and balance at the optimum position without wrecking your lawn! This is no fault of this strimmer just takes a bit of getting used to. Would I recommend it? Yes I would, the ease of cordless tools is just great no matter how big or small your garden.
Battery life appears to be brilliant and uses hardly anything. I cut the lawn first and then use the strimmer afterwards and there’s bags of life in the battery.
Overall, great purchase
The strimmer is very good quality. However, for me a little on the heavy side.
I tried to contact the seller (Murray) with regard to purchasing replacement string. Unfortunately, the website says that this is out of stock and they have no idea when it will return to stock. As I have had no replay from the company, I have no idea what replacement I can use
What a way to run a business!

Dubious…..
I must admit I’m not a ‘green’ fan, so while looking the other day for a new strimmer, I must admit I did bypass this a few times, but using a filter I got rid of the cheaper ones as I’ve had enough of them breaking after a few years, but this one kept popping up, so I read the reviews and was seriously tempted, and I ordered….
I received the strimmer in Saturday, extremely easy to put together, basically 2 items to add, the battery was 86% charged
Went out today to try it and I must admit I am very impressed, apart from the usual no plugging in, it is so much easier, granted it does slow down with very heavy grass, but it’s going to really with an 18v battery isn’t it.
But for my smallish front and back garden it is totally ideal, and I have totally gone from sceptical to loving
I have used this grass trimmer for my allotment where there is no electricity supply. It is a brilliant bit of kit!

Purchased the lawn mower, now the trimmer. Outstanding. Both the lawnmower and trimmer used only 17% battery power. Major reduction in time Cutting the law
One of the best battery powered trimmers I’ve ever seen.
After buying the Murry lawnmower it made sense to also purchase the strimmer.
It’s lightweight, great run time, easy to use with an additional wire attached to the handle and those interchangeable batteries make imthe whole Murry ecosystem pleasing to use.
I’m not too sure the use for the distance guard nor the odd wheels but I guess that’s because I’ve never had them on previous strimmers.
So much better than being compromised by cables and great result on difficult edges. Quick and easy to use.
Live it gone are the days of trailing a power lead.i like that the same battery powers other Murray tools

Bought this for my dad. The feedback was really positive. Performs really well, battery life is good, no issues at all. He uses it all the time and it’s still performing really well. Can’t fault it. 10/10

I brought this for my son. He is very happy with it.
Great trimmer comes with a very good instruction manual and a charger block that includes USB output so you can charge your phone at same time, it’s lightweight for a trimmer and feels very comfortable to use. Cuts through grass like butte

Well made, lightweight but rugged construction. Uses same batteries as my lawn mower. Bags of power and battery life.

Regalato a mia madre.
Good garden tool with an interchangeable Briggs and Stratton battery. Very easy to use, if you’ve got the mower super combo with the two batteries and double charger. Be aware, no battery supplied.
Simple and easy to use but not really for very long, tough flowering grass stems which it finds hard going. Shortish grass is no bother. I recommend buying a second battery if you have a large area and edge to trim

This was bought as a replacement for a corded trimmer, as the cord was making trimming the front grass very awkward. I am pleased to say that this really is a great trimmer and the battery duration is more than enough for a couple of trimming sessions

I have seen some reviews criticising this for not being a very good brush cutter which seems foolish as it is not advertised as one. It is a battery strummer which has styling with a nod to brush cutters. Mine was delivered 90 minutes ago, it took 5 minutes to put together as I had to find a screwdriver, it would have been 2 minutes if I’d had one to hand.
I’ve tried it out on some fairly thick grass and, while it’s not the quickest, it cut it and is 50 times better than the Bosch battery strimmer that with those silly little plastic blades, that it has replaced. The battery came 77% charged and took about 15 minutes to charge to 100%.
I have also ordered the Murray 44cm electric lawnmower which uses the same batteries. That arrives on Tuesday. I have bought it to replace a Cub Cadet self-propelled petrol mower with key start which is very heavy. When we bought it, we had a slope from the top of the garden to the bottom. Thanks to my Wife’s garden design, this is now steps which I now have to carry the Cadet up and down. I am not a delicate little flower but I can do without the weight-lifting. I am really looking forward to the new mower as it will be easy to carry between the 3 lawns. I am not an avid gardener but I like my grass reasonably short however, it doesn’t have to be stripy or as flat as a bowling green. If I’m as impressed with the mower as I am with this strimmer, I’ll be a very happy man.
I have given Thickness and Sheerness 5 stars but I have absolutely no idea what these markings mean in relation to a strimmer.

The strimmer cuts most grasses, nettles etc but not brambles.
The strimmer line is quite thin and therefore not for those who want to tackle dense brambles or Woody growth, but if you want to cut back nettles grasses etc and tidy up borders this will do this easily.
The batteries fit the Murray lawnmower so you can save money by buying both but only batteries for the lawnmowe
Love this tool same battery as mower plenty of power dose a great job
Instructions from this company are poor, and writing very small so make sure you have a great pair of glasses. And they never helped anyway you end up having to guess were things go.
Bought this after buying the lawnmower. Batteries interchangeable. Great piece of kit. Feels solid, yet light. Allowed me to tidy our wee garden pretty quick.
I already have the lawnmower and hedge trimmer so this was a no brainer really. the build quality is exceptional on all counts. Murray clearly make fantastic products because they have transformed the way i look at gardening, it is enjoyable now rather than a boring chore. Great piece of kit! Don’t buy the battery if you already own another one of their devices because they are all interchangeable.
I like this all-in-one garden trimmer system from Murray a great deal. The trimmer requires a small amount of assembly before use, but this is clearly detailed in the accompanying literature. The battery charger is easy to use, and although the connector system involves exposed pins, these are quite chunky and don’t damage easily. The battery clips in place securely, and squeezing the sides releases the connections – either to the charger or the trimmer. The battery has an inbuilt charge status indicator – press a button on the end, and it gives a percentage charge left reading.
The grass trimmer is nice and light – even my Mum, who is a little south of 5’2″ and in her 70s has no problem using it. The trimmer is effective and line doesn’t seem to snap every few seconds, even when used on some quite challenging weeds. Indeed, this powers through chunky weeds I would have expected to need a (petrol) metal-bladed brush cutter for – but is much easier to manage than a brush cutter and significantly easier to start. I like the fact that this has a storage slot on the handle for a spare spool of line, even though the line lasts well, it’s useful to have a spare to hand, and this system serves as a reminder to buy more before its absence becomes an issue.
The only things I’m not so keen about with this system are that spare and larger capacity batteries to increase run time don’t seem to be as widely available as those from other manufacturers.

The product turned up earlier than expected which was great , easy to assemble and easy to use very happy with produc
Very easy to use, ideal for what I need it for.
Whizzing round the edges of my over average garde
Prodotto ottimo: efficiente in tutto, taglio, precisione, leggerezza! Qualit- prezzo eccezionali.

Item arrived and does work exactly how you would expect. Let down by one part missing when unboxed. Despite it clearly stating in the description that – Automatic feed head- Includes a bonus trimmer spool – there was no spare trimmer spool in box so for this reason the overal rating looses a star.

Grande quali
Light and easy to use. Ideal for grass etc, not powerful enough for anything heavier. Ideal for light tidy up duties.
+ ausreichend schnittstark
+ neig- und schwenkbare Motoreinheit
+ solide Konstruktion
+ Teleskopvorrichtung zur Lngenverstellung
+ vollstndig automatische Fadenlngenregulierung
+ zwei Fadenspulen im Lieferumfang
+ praktisches Fhrungsrad fr den Kantenschnitt
+ zweckmiger Spritzschutz
+ relativ leises Betriebsgerusch
+ Restkapazittsanzeige beim Akku in Prozent
+ lange Garantie
Se la testa a filo si dovesse rompere durante l’uso, sul manico troverete una bobina di scorta, pronta per essere usata;
Insofern muss das ja was heien!
Like some other manufacturers this garden tool can share it’s battery and charger with other tool in the range e.g. their lawn mower which takes 2 batteries and has a twin battery charger.
Thus if you have their lawn mower you can just buy the trimmer without the battery and charger (Kit Version).
Back to this, the “Kit Version”
Both the battery and charger have USB sockets both rated at 5 volts, 1 amp and I can’t really see a need for this feature.
The battery, like many USB Power Banks has a digital battery charge level indicator which is more useful than four LED’s found on other makers batteries.
The charger comes with a UK lead (actually fitted with the correct size fuse, 3amp) and a euro type 2 pin plug lead.
Where the battery goes on the charger, the vent slots are very large and I think a coin if dropped on top could end up on the circuit board inside.
I was just trying to take a picture of a 20p coin half way in and guess what, yes it slipped inside so I now have a money box charger (it has fancy security screws holding it together). I will of course now have to try and get it apart before I next try and use it.
Done, a T9x50mm screwdriver did the trick and the 20p has been extracted.
Anyway, as lawn trimmers go it worked pretty well with the auto feed actually working.
The spool size is not very big but they do give you a spare attached to the handle.
Doing some big weeds it did snap off twice where the cord leaves the spool container but otherwise the twisted (like old lamp flex) worked well.
I used it for about 10 to 15 mins, garden not that big and the battery indicator claimed 82% remaining.
It would have got 5 stars if the battery charger ventilation slots had been designed properly.

* One half inch+ thick Murray grass trimmer Assembly and Owner’s manual
* One half inch thick Briggs and Stratton Rechargeable battery owner’s manual
* 4x A5 booklets
* Plastic guard
* Plastic handle
* Strimmer unit
* 18V Li-ion battery
* Battery charger
* 3 pin UK plug for charger
* 2 pin (shaver style) plug for charger.
I have a BLACK+DECKER 36 V Lithium-Ion strimmer so there will be some comparisons. The first thing I noticed with the Murray strimmer was the quality/feel of the battery and charger. This was so much better than any Black and Decker offerings that I’ve had — both 18V and 36V). Theis battery has a rubber base which gives it a rugged feel. The battery also has an LED percentage charge indicator. On arrival this showed 87%. I like little touches like this. B&D’s charger feels like a big empty bit of cheap plastic. The Briggs & Stratton charger that comes with this battery isn’t as bulky, and the plastic feels a little tougher. The charger unit also feels weightier. These are just surface impressions, but they do make me feel I haven’t got something that’s just been made as cheaply as possible. One nice additional touch — there is a USB port on both the battery and the charger so they can both be used to charge stuff that comes with a USB charging cable.
That said, the battery and charger is Briggs & Stratton. Everything else is Murray and you can tell the difference.
Before I started assembly I noticed that there was a spare spool of cutting string attached behind the upper handle. Nice touch. The strimming head also has a foot lever that allows you to alter the angle of the head to the handle. Not sure of the value of this I get the feeling that once set this will never be used again.
The handle needs attaching. This is straightforward. The safety guard is attached with four cross-head screws that are in place and need removing then re-attaching through the guard. Again straightforward.
Once assembled, any feel of quality disappears. It is very light. The adjustable handle feels like it has some flex in it. The bump guard is really loose, but it is effective. The guide wheels for lawn edging seem more trouble than they are worth but they do help maintain the correct height and give you a reasonable visual guide to follow the edge of the lawn. The head only rotates through ninety degrees for lawn edging, whereas the B&D rotates through 180. I feel B&D has it right in this instance.
In use it works well. I like the large safety guard. It cuts through quite thick nettle stems without much effort (though it did tend to tangle the stalks round itself). It’s noticeably lighter in use than my B&D. What it does lack is a spring loaded battery holder. On the B&D when you release the clip the battery pops part way out. On this Murray, the battery just stays where it is when you release the clip so you have to drag it out and it’s a little stiff. That may ease with use.
All in all I think it’s an okay strimmer, but since it’s only a tenner cheaper than the B&D I’d go for what feels like the better build quality of the B&D — which I’ve been using for almost twelve months without problems.
