I brought this rather than buying a really expensive baby monitor and to be honest I’m glad I did!! It does exactly the same as a expensive one! Works well! As I’m able to speak through the app on my phone for if she’s crying and if I’m not on the app and she moves around or makes a noise I will get a message saying the camera has picked up motion… I’m so glad I had brought this! Can’t wait to hook it up to the Alexa as well!

    Baby montio

Really happy with the camera, does a lot for a low price. Bought it for my parents and was easy to setup and have all 3 of us access the camera to get alerts. Even though they’re indoor camera I have one pointing at the driveway and it works well with good night vision.

Within the settings you can turn features on or off, night vision, motion detection and noise detection and how sensitive the motion detection is.

    Great little camera, would recommend

Great camera no faults apart from there’s no skill for alexa, which is mainly why I got it, think there used to be a skill but can’t see it in the search or won’t discover it. Otherwise still a really good camera for the price, we will be getting more

You may have seen all the hype for this camera on social media and YouTube. I decided to give it a go and see what it was like and I have to say it’s incredible.

For the money I paid I couldn’t give it less than 5 stars. Admittedly the camera isn’t crystal clear, but for the money. It excels expectation.

Motion sensing is great and you can see with green boxes exactly where the motion triggered.

Night vision is very good and I would say it’s just as good as other expensive night vision cameras.

Finally the app is good. Straight forward to set the device up, using the app is easy and you can set the camera alert system as Armed so you will only receive notification when this is set.

Overall a fantastic camera, I imagine the price will eventually go up from 29.99 so it would be my advise to buy!

Lets be clear this is never going to replace a proper CCTV camera anytime soon but for the money and ease of use its fantastic. The term “it just works” has never been more fitting as that is just what it does it works. The picture quality is more than adequate. Had it delivered, setup and working in the morning before going on holiday so we could keep an eye on our house from Spain! so good we bought another one and used it to keep an eye on the dog whilst we are out after he had been ill. Online support is excellent as well.

I received my 1st NEOS Smartcam today and have to admit that after reading all the comments I was ready for sending it back but as there where also quite some positive feedback I just had to try it myself. It arrived very quickly via Royal Mail. I then got on to installing the camera. It was refreshing how easy it was also I have to say that nowhere was mentioned that the camera can only be connected to a 2.4Ghz so if you are unlucky and have only a 5Ghz modem this camera will not work with your network. However most modems are dual channel and with that the setup could not be easier. During the installation process you get guided through via voice from the camera and the status of the process is displayed on your phone / tablet. After a few minutes I got the picture and was positively surprised of the quality. I mainly be using the cameras (yes, I already bought a second one after having my first camera connected and running for not even one hour) to check on my dogs whilst I be upstairs. As you can see in the picture the camera handles the light from the window very well. I had much more expensive cameras in the same position and all I got was shadows. I don’t know what the night time quality will be like but be sure that it will do its job as good as it does it at daytime. I honestly have no idea why there are so many negative comments / reviews are as I can only recommend the camera.

    So much better then expected

For the money the unit is great, motion detection and noise all work saving clips and sending to your smart phone. Option to add a SD card for recordings, includes a mic and speaker works sort of. Watch live feed either via wi fi or phone network. For the money very hard to beat.

Works great, Android app and IOS app both very similar and work well.
Picture quality is excellent, and was very straight forward to setup.
I only have one for now but will probably buy more and pay the subscription as its a good security solution.
Only complaint is when I use it on my Amazon echo show the picture is delayed approximately 3-5 seconds, but on the phone app is pretty much real time with very little delay.
I needed to replace baby monitor as battery died, this isn’t the best solution as a baby monitor in honesty as unless you have the app open it can take a few seconds to receive a notification and open up the app.
Not a criticism of the camera or service, just a fact that a video baby monitor is better for this purpose, but if you’re child is older and you just like to check in periodically then it’s great.

Night Vision is good, motion detection is good and will record 60 second clips without requiring a subscription but can record longer with the subscription.
To be clear, subscription is optional and not required to use the camera and app.

2 way talk function also works well with minimal delays.

All in all happy customer and will probably buy some more to use around the house.
Looks pretty cool too compared to other products I’ve used, very small and compact.

Good price, easy to setup and great picture quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis little camera has been unfairly maligned in some of the reviews here.. Or the company has taken note and changed its settings [Nov 19]. Its a buy, please read on for a detailed comment on each feature, and do kindly mark this review helpful if you find it so. I normally don’t write this long reviews but someone’s got to correct the record

    0) Overall – if you are buying a cheap camera, please make it this one, and not something shipped over by a company based outside the EU which doesn’t have to comply with local laws or at least EU law isn’t easily enforceable. It ticks almost all the boxes, and you can be assured that coming from an eternal gadget geek, it works for me.

    1) privacy – [TICK] no it does not want your address. See my screenshot of the made up address I put in. If you want to use geofencing and auto arming when you leave home etc, of course they need to know your location and where your home is.. I didnt turn that feature on. I only had to out my email and phone number, which is standard for most online logins with OTP being sent to your phone etc..

    2) Security – [TICK] I haven’t done an indepth ‘phone home’ analysis of the camera sofware but was easily able to turn cloud recording, noise detection etc. off in the app. Obviously to access the stream on your phone while you are out and about, the data does have to go through their servers. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will post a review of their encryption standards, but I for one feel much better know this is a UK based company that has to comply with EU law… Even though the hardware is obv China made.

    3) Setup – [TICK] very straight forward, do make sure your router SSID (WiFi name) is different for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks, so something like mywifi-2g and mywifi-5g etc., as the device is not 5g compatible..most cameras arent.
The instructions are very clear. You have to get the app, setup an account, turn the camera on, give it the WiFi details via the app (granted this always makes me nervous… But I think they are sent to camera via a direct connection and are not later stored in the cloud.. As I had to put it in again for every setup). The camera then connects to Neos and registers itself. There are voice prompts from the camera to keep you updated.
NOTE: if you have the highest (paranoid) level setting on your router firewall, the camera will be blocked. I had this, my Nest cam got setup OK but always had small issues on streaming data to my phone when not on 4g. This ‘high’ setting also blocked some Amazon Alexa features, voip, WhatsApp video calls…so Neos are not alone. Facetime (apple) did keep working flawlessly, and so did Google Hangouts at that security level which blocks almost all incoming connections at all ports. But if you want to use most of the Internet, you’ll have have to decide for yourself. Your router will have the setting at medium as default, and most router makers will recommend the medium setting. When you have IoT devices in the home, your firewall is the last defence.. Please take this seriously and only change settings if you know what you are doing. NEVER have it at low or turned off. Anyways back to the camera..

    4) image quality – [TICK] I use it indoors, it is full 1080p and is comparable to my Nest cam. Both in day mode and in night mode. The camera field of view is enough to cover a 100sq foot area relatively well, similar to nest cam (sorry i am not putting pics of this, but rest assured it holds its own, given its price, with Nest, which is the defacto standard in consumer cameras for me)

    5) sound – [TICK-ish] it’s OK. And the two-way chat is slightly laggy but manegable. I have a ‘geek’ level Internet connection with mega bandwidth (multi-100mbps) both down/up-load so it’s not that. I think it’s the cloud capacity deployed on the neos app. The Nest cam on the same WiFi network had no stutter in two-way speech.

    6) Smart home – [TICK?] Alexa, Google home etc.. Now amazon sell this in a package with their echos (that’s how I first got it), so you do expect it to be compatible. It is. I don’t have Google’s hub, only the minis so I cannot comment. Note you can enable the Google assistant ON your nest cam and talk to it, like an extra speaker! This does not do that with Alex, is merely compatible with alexa skills and let’s me say things like ‘show me xxx camera’, to get a pleasing view on my echo show or fire TV etc..
NOTE: their alexa streaming has had a few issues over the last few days, BUT the company keeps you updated in the app (see screenshot) and tells you what is going on. Their own app kept working without interruptions and I could see the camera feed on my phone. Now this is annoying, but I haven’t dropped a star – mainly because of the price…I can get 5 of these cams for one Nest. Also, they kept me informed, and their core app kept working all the time.. So unless this is an extended disruption to Alexa for Neos, I’ll put up with it..

    7) Attachments – [TICK] the micro USB cable is long enough. You can only use theirs or a similarly thin one cause of the recessed port. The wall attachment is very handy. The camera has magnetic feet so will happily sit securely on top of my fridge without attachments.

    8) Build – [TICK] plastic but pleasing functional design (for me at least). The magnetic feet are just about strong enough to hold it in place and the hinge is solid to have it angled and not slip.

    9) misc – [TICK] what is with the insurance company website?! Well, if you check it out, it does make sense. Looks like an insurance startup who give smart devices with their policies realised, hey we could sell these things and use the cloud capacity / infra /app investment we are putting in for our insurance customers to have less idle time etc.. Lets also sell our cameras, maybe we can do it cheaper than most others. So this isn’t from their FAQs, but if i was doing a startup like this, I’d have thought the same. Fair enough. If anything, I like that the company selling the cam is also an insurance provider and has to deal with all the regulation that entails in the UK. You can use the cam they supply with the policy directly in the Neos standalone app according to thei FAQs. I haven’t got their policy so can’t attest to it.. But I might get a quote from these lot too at my next renewal!

    10) this is an indoor camera – the porch may be OK (fingers crossed for the foggy nights), but nothing where it can get moisture and certainly nothing where the overhead protection is not adequate.

    12) SD card – [TICK? ] I haven’t tested loop recording but seems to read the 32GB sd card fine

Very easy set up. Solid app. Good build quality. Excellent picture quality and detection. Why buy anything else?
    Things to bear in mind:
    – night vision doesn’t work through glass. The IR lights reflect back. So can’t monitor outdoor spaces at night unless outdoors itself.
    – you get short videos for free. 12s clips and then a 5min gap until next one. You can go unlimited with a microSD card or get longer 1min videos with 5min gaps for 2.50 per month.
    – needs constant power over USB and WiFi

I’m rarely this impressed. It’s great.

They replaced Motorola Focus 35 cameras, which are getting tired.

The App is simple to use and video plays back well. You can record from your mobile, share access, toggle night vision and do generally everything you need (as an amateur for DIY).

There are, however some absent features. You should be able to view on an Echo. Unlike Ring, you can’t set ‘when neos senses movement’s do X either. The former doesn’t work, the latter isn’t an option.

Also, they’ve emailed re pricing of the premium package, its all over the place. Last month one price, this month another, with a whole new pricing structure for 2020. Crazy.

I’m always trying to wait a bit till I leave the review of the product so after months of having one I decided to purchase another 2 on black Friday as they’ve been on even better offer.
Right for 25 you would not expect much right? but honestly for that price this camera blows a mind.
I have it placed in 3 different location around my apartment, which one location it’s slightly poor in wifi signal but camera still works well.
Night vision is alright, got good distance of view and quality ain’t that bad.
streaming to your phone? works fine, although if you put down app and then come back it shows that can’t connect to camera but it’s enough to go back to main interface and go back to camera and it works fine, haven’t even got much latency but that’s may vary of your internet quality.
12 sec clips when motion/sound detected, it’s not bad and can be extended to 60sec when paid subscription which is around 3/month which isn’t bad either, I’ve got them mostly to watch my cat while we’re away for few days. and for that reason they are great.
why only 4 stars for motion detection? in daylight it works great, but on night vision not necessary, you can see cat moving in a background but it won’t detect it until it will get close enough or his eyes will reflect ir light back to cam.
But I’m happy with them, so ended up with 3 after few weeks of checking just one… and can recommend it to anyone who does not expect it to recognise the faces, but give you simply insight/view into what’s happening at the moment in your household etc.

And reviews about address requesting issue? well when I sign up, I didn’t wanted to arm it automatically so I had choice to do not provide my location info, so clearly you’ve got choice on this one, and even so I wouldn’t be so worry, if someone would like to grab you address in most countries it’s public information anyway and your phone tracking you 24/7 anyway… and from what I have found Neos is some sort of home insurance company, that you can use their services so I guess those cam are mainly the addon to service, and to make them cheaper they just selling them also separately. Have fun and enjoy 😉

Very good camera for the money. With an SD card you have 24/7 coverage and the free cloud storage provides enough to be confident you’ll capture “most” things. Not a perfect system but the app is being updated so unfair to judge the software too much. The hardware itself is very good and the night vision is almost better quality than the day, though it does make an audible click every time it switches to night mode. The picture quality leaves a little to be desired but does work.

You’d probably be better off with a higher end camera set up if you were serious about home security but I’m happy this does an adequate job for internally and suits me perfect as a nursery camera.

Have to admit this is a belting camera for the price got it on sale for 20 bought it to test out as a budget security camera not expecting it to be much but I was surprised, so impressed I bought a second now I’m under no illusion that this is an indoor camera but I have set them up to look through the windows front and back and even through glass image quality is great motion detection and auto night vision for 20?? Set up is easy, but updating the firmware took a few attempts but keep trying it will do it, the app is good but has a few kinks which is to be expected as a beta version and I assume the makers will sort out in time, it stores clips to the cloud, the clips are 12s long when it detects movement and or noise, also you can set the sensitivity of these too all for free in the app, brilliant. But if you want more for a small subscription of a cost of a coffee you can extend to recording time to 1min and set area for the detection so obviously it’s a no brainier really, honestly I don’t work for this company I’m just very impressed with this camera note I’ve not added any pictures or videos cause there are weirdos out there hence the cameras

  15. MauricioSimmons says:

Love this thing so far, only downside is the iOS app is in serious need up updating and there’s no ipad version for some reason….
I had to turn the night vision off as I have the camera looking through a window, so when the ir is on all you can see it the reflection of the lights, but as I’m pointing it at my driveway and there are street lights I can see really well, though if you have this in a room I would think the night vision would be great.

  16. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

The camera is cheap and does exactly what you would expect. The night vision is great and the motion and sound detection is very sensitive. I had to reduce it to the lowest setting. The only downside is the limitations on the video clips on the remote server.

  17. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Vary good product, was easy to set up, it can’t be set up on a 5G network so slight downside but as more and more stuff transfer to 5G it will start to declutter the 2.4G network.
Just have to make sure you have a 2.4G network.

App is good and easy to use, very simple to alter sensitivity’s of motion and noice detection plus easy to flip picture for when camera is mounted upside down.

Plus it syncs to Alexa, so can see feeds on fire TVs and echo shows.

    Five stars in all categories!

I already have two Nest Cams for outdoor use that are considerably more expensive than this (and require an ongoing subscription too). While it’s true this only for indoor use so is not as robust as a Nest Cam, in pretty much every other respect this is equally good and comes for an almost “throw away” price. Incredible value for money and HIGHLY recommended.

The way the motion detection is presented (rectangle on image to see what it has spotted moving) is actually better than Nest – it’s good to know what the camera was “thinking”.

The Android app is also pretty good – again does a lot of things similar to Nest.

  19. KandisBriggs says:

Hard to review these cams but I’ll give it a go.. For the money they are a five star cam but.. When you consider it wouldn’t take much to make them better like support in the app to stream and show recordings from sd card to your phone or the ability to adjust focus (because let’s be honest it is better to fine tune the focus on them) the cameras could be amazing but because they had to compromise to keep costs down it keeps them from being a first choice to many. I hope the makers actually read these reviews and improve the features, even if they cost a little more to buy it’d be worth it as reliability and ease of use and small form factor make these really attractive as a budget cctv system

For the price this is amazing! I have bought 4 of these now. Easy to set up and install app on phone, bought a weatherproof mount and placed this camera outside under the eave of the house as inside i got too much glare and reflection from window,I wanted to be able to see outside my house and our cul de sac…perfect! Ive had no problems at all,can see outside anytime i want to…even on holiday. Night vision is good and picture is crystal clear,we have even had the pleasure of watching a bat everynight go past our window and its that clear you can see through its wings! . I would highly recommend this camera.

Great little cam does so much for 25.00 Im writing this review after seeing alot of people cant connect to fire stick or show. heres the secret

When setting up the cam you can name it , mine was called kitchen. Trying to connect through my Firestick caused major problems, although it was all paired and i could see the cam on my phone app. Saying ” Alexa show me kitchen ” just didnt work.

Now if you look at the camera settings, little cog on top right of the Neos App. Scroll down to Camera Name.

    Device Name = Smartcam
    Room = Kitchen

So Alexa wants to hear “Alexa show me Kitchen Smartcam” and bang 5 seconds and my cam is on a 32 inch TV. Note that both above names can be changed.

Hope this helps any of you having trouble connecting.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI purchased this camera about a week ago, and i must say I’m pretty impressed the picture quality in the day is very good and the motion detection for movement and sound are also good but a bit sensitive.

I purchased an outdoor housing for it and put it outside facing my back door, I did add some sealant where the wire comes out and where it screws together just to be on the safe side.

Overall rating: I’ve given it a 5 because for the price it costs it’s amazing.

Night vision: I’ve given it a 4 because the night vision works fine close up but unless I have my security lights on I can’t see the top of the garden.(not really a problem as I have a full cctv security camera system as well.)

Motion detection: I’ve given it a 5 I have it set to the lowest sensitivity which seems fine, it does pick noise from a noisy motorbikes going past and the wind if it’s a windy day.(not a problem)

Picture quality: I’ve given it a 5 The day time picture is superb but again the night time is not so good but that might be me I’m used to looking at a higher resolution picture with my main system.

For the price of this camera it’s brilliant, I set mine up on a tablet and got the option to use location for auto arming I didn’t use it and it works fine.

Really impressed for the price, bought this to monitor the interior of my motorhome incase there was ever a break in, tested this week in the house while I was away. motion detection seems really good, although there is a slight delay of a minute or so. picture quality is good and very surprised at the night vision quality.

My first camera. I have it watching outside my windows from the inside. It works brilliant.

During the day when we are at home, it just takes pics of constant movement.
It auto detects when we have left the house and then arms itself, taking videos of moving people and cars in the area.
You can arm it manually before bed.

You can also record live to your phone from the app as well as recording constantly to an sd card.

People in other reviews give out because of privacy concerns but to be honest they are unfounded.
The devices function is to arm itself based on your location so naturally its going to need gps access on your phone to do this. This is completely optional.
It also looks for your address for its location which again is optional.
If you are concerned about privacy then you can just setup the account and do no more than that.
I use all the features and it is great but then again I dont wear a tin foil hat so it is easy for me to do.
I gave it four stars for one reason and that is because of the setup.
The app scans for the closest ssid and auto populates it in the setup. The issue I had with this is that the ssid it populated was for the 5.8ghz wifi which the device is not capable of doing, so why it detected it is a mystery. The setup would fail until I worked out what was going on. As soon as I changed it to the 2.4GHZ ssid, setup worked immediately. The company should change the setup to display all networks so you could select the correct one.
Great product, going to buy another.

I am so impressed with this little camera! The picture quality is amazing for the price. Download the app, follow the on screen instructions, setup is simple and quick and it works very well. I have it pointed out of my front window because I wanted it for security and also to see what wildlife passes by.
It easily picks up neighbours coming and going in their cars and the postman coming up the drive. As others have said there are reflections if you point the camera through a window at night – I will play around with positioning, maybe if I can get the camera flush with the window this would be reduced but I will still be able to see any intruders or wildlife
For the money this is an amazing little camera. I have wanted one for ages but could not really justify the price tag if the more expensive models but I am so happy with this
It detects noise as well as motion so if the tv is on or we are speaking or coughing it alerts us – doing its job and I can see that I can adjust the sensitivity if I want to, which I may well do
I have had it less than a day but it seems good quality and I am very happy with it 🙂

Very impressed - 5 stars from me

It can support 128GB SDCard regardless of what it says in the description. The constant recording can only be accessed by removing the SD Card from the device and viewing it on another device. There is a 5 minute motion and auditorial detection interval when uploading to the cloud: so if something happens in those 5 minutes since previous detection, you will have to manually check the SD Card. Finally the night vision is pretty bad and short range, especially if you are trying to use it out of a window: the infrared LEDs reflect off of the window in night vision.

Perfect to keep an eye on your house, I’ve got mine in the hallway and can easily see who’s come in and out, only downside is it only records 7s and then won’t record for a few more seconds – but I knew this when buying from reading reviews. Great thing is you don’t need a subscription to view on the app and is very simple, also can add cameras to the app so can have all your cameras in the same place.

    Love these WiFi cctv cameras.
12 second clips recorded on movement or 1 min on paying small subscription per month.
Love the ease to set up.
    Easy to affix.
Mains wire a bit short. Had to buy extensions.
    Not intrusive at all.
Turn off night vision if facing outside through a window if you’ve pir floodlighting outside. Else night vision reflects off glass.
Inside it’s good picture and adequate clear not grainy picture for price.
I wish you could turn off the microphone is my only thing like you can the on light.
Got 2 tempted for a third.
Records footage to the app so you can check in anywhere. It can alert you to movement etc.

Had two of these for a few months now and have to say they are absolutely brilliant. Good picture, good coverage, easy to install and the app to view when away from home works every time whether via WiFi or mobile data. Now with the added bonus of Neos boost which stores 1minute clips instead of 12 seconds and allows you to mask part of the cameras view to cut out unwanted triggering. I really don’t know how Neos can keep the price so low when compared to other cams and their customer service (with live chat) is also excellent, with a couple of issues I’ve had sorted out very quickly. Highly recommended

Great camera, fabulous clarity and night vision is excellent. Others have complained about intrusion of privacy, but it uses geofences and needs to know where you live to know when you’re at home and when you’re out. I appreciate this may make some feel uncomfortable.

I’ve found the app extremely unstable though. It crashes regularly, and I’m at the point of having to re-enter my details for the third time today. For a cheap camera, this is kind of enough to stop me using it.

Please sort out the stability, it’s ruining a great product.

  32. Anonymous says:

First of all the reality is that this is a cracking little camera that is almost cute in it’s design – intentional of course – is well made and the system works brilliantly.

However, lets make a correction. The Amazon description is incorrect when it states that recordings are kept for seven days on the cloud. They are not. Each 12 second clip is saved for 24 hours – which of course you can download.

All is not lost of course because, you can insert a microSD card and run on a continuous loop making your own recordings which, you can download. Simple, easy and cheap and will of course avoid the eventual roll out costs of a long term on line storage subscription.

The above advertising niggle aside, this is a brilliant bit of kit. Genuinely well made with an appealing design. Even more impressive is the cost which, is cheap as chips for what it is, especially being UK designed (not manufactured of course) and supported.

Easy to set up. Really easy especially with the no nonsense videos.

Now, I do see some people hating the idea of registering details. Well, if you use the internet and of course IP cameras with online storage it is a fact of life. All IP camera companies want this information but, I trust NEOS more than most because it is a British company based in the UK and is allied to the largest insurance company in the UK as well. You are as safe as any internet based camera system can be. If you don’t want that ‘risk’ then buy a NVR and POE cameras and don’t connect to the internet.

I wanted this for outside to be honest, despite being an indoor camera. So, I bought a small enclosure for it and put it near my hedgehog feeding station to keep an eye on Spiney. Works a treat.

Only one more thing to note, is that on the Neos website it’s sold at twenty quid so cheaper than here.

Good value, a nice little camera. Took me a while to set it up – but that’s because I’m an IT dinosaur! Sometimes it is hard to connect when I want to dip in and dip out to check on what’s happening. Help/Support team could be better. Would have been useful to have had a spare magnetic stick on disc. But overall, I’m really glad I got it.

A great product for the price, easy to set up and use and ideal for live streaming (although occasionally this goes down). I appreciate that the company continue to add features and progress the device and its app. But I fell it is 100% missing a trick by not allowing access to the SD card through the app. If this was possible, I’d have bought a couple more.

I have set mine up outside underneath an overarching ledge and the usb cable going through the window opening. I know it isn’t designed for outdoor use, but so far so good. I accept the risk after all the cost is so modest compared to others..
I can easily check who is outside, often getting a warning beep before they get to the door.
Similarly at night I get audible alerts on my phone and iPad.
In the morning I can check to see if anybody has been around outside while I am asleep.
If I am out anywhere, in town over a coffee, or when travelling I still get alerts and can look to see who it is, the postman or something more concerning. I caught a charming clip of a little girl and boy knocking on my door and then running away giggling. Just the sort of thing I used to do when a child.
    I would recommend this product.

I’m so pleased with this product that I’ve instantly bought another lol. It’s everything I hoped for. Easily plugs into a mains socket, connects to your home WiFi. It can record off the cloud or via SD card (I have both) records with motion detection (12 second clips), you can watch live and manually record, screenshot and talk through the camera. It’s so cute and small, fits well on my window sill. It zooms in as well.
Some reflections as expected looking through the window but even then the quality is great.
Hoping to catch the dog owner that keeps letting their dog poop on my property and doesn’t clean it up!
And of course for home security as well.
The pictures I’ve included are day light, dusk, zoomed in dusk and night.

    Couldn’t recommend this camera enough!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI set this camera up to watch my cats while I was away, it was fast to set up and seemed to work well. The next morning though it wasn’t connecting to the app and I had to reset it and start all over again. I was worried that if this kept happening then it would be useless while I was away. But thankfully it only did that the one time. I set it to alert me to movement because I hoped to be able to watch those clips and see the cats as I wasn’t expecting anything else to be moving in the house. The camera was set up in a room and facing away from any windows or doors. Yet I got almost constant alerts, telling me there was movement and so when I checked I was surprised to see no sign of my cats, instead the camera was telling me that changes in light were setting off the movement alert (a small yellow box shows up on the area where the movement was detected), I can only assume these changes came from the tree outside making shadows, or perhaps clouds going in front of the sun. I don’t really know but it was very annoying. Now I’m home I removed that feature which is a shame as it would be good to know if there was unexpected movement in my home, but it is clearly too sensitive. The camera is small and looks good, I wish it was wireless as the cord is annoying, although not short, I’d estimate it to be about two meters, maybe slightly under, but it does restrict where you can put the camera.

Absolutely love this tiny Neos CCTV camera – it’s such a well made item with video quality and features matching many of the big brand named CCTV cameras on the market.

The Neos is extremely easy to set-up via the App and there are a number of monitoring options you can set within the software. I liked the camera so much I now have 2 of them and in the Neos App you can set them as armed and disarmed with a simple switch on the Home overview page.

The camera has a built-in stand which is great if you need to lift it slightly, it also has 2 way speech so you can talk to and speak back to anyone in the vicinity of the camera, the angle of view is very wide, and picture quality excellent. There’s also the ability to record all notifications if you insert a micro SDHC card.

A great device – thoroughly recommended.

Simply put wow… I initially bought this thinking it’s 20 so if it’s no good not an issue but have to admit it’s been one of my best buys.
I have recommended to my family and friends and even bought 4 more for my house as security came.
They are small and discrete yet have all the core functionality your need/expect on a much costlier model.
I bought a Arlo baby monitor for 160 and now wish I had known about this instead.
Since getting these the Arlo has been Packed and these have take over.

The price of this camera is really good, the app is good as well, however there are some features which need sorting out. There is no zoning of movement so you have to play with the settings to get it right, this is a pain. I decided in the end to use an outside mount for it and have it under a porch, camera quality is very good although the IR isnt extremely powerful for excellent night vision, the alerts were impossible though, zoning needs to be implemented. Good thing is the support team seem keen to help and get involved with discussion about improving the camera and its software so maybe in the future there will be improvements which make me come back to the Neos cam, at the moment I am sticking with my Ring floodlight which has zoning, better night vision and solid app, albeit almost 10 times the price!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReceived well packaged and on opening the box you felt like you were opening a premium quality item, taking all of the contents out of the box I was happy with the long usb lead and 3 pin plug giving me the choice to use either USB connection or direct to socket, setting up was a breeze and I totally understand people having issues with the privacy intrusion as it is quite a personal setup but that said, it will automatically arm itself if you forget when you leave home, you can set up a radius from your address, we have had ours some time now and purchased another as I’m using the second one to keep an eye on my 3D printer whilst I’m out and about, I love the picture quality and both sound and movement activation, the two way communication isn’t bad considering the size of the camera but it works.
One of the best features is the personal service from their customer support who will chat with you via the app, I found that setting up the app was easy and straight forward, there’s a decent amount of control and the developers of the product are continuously updating and listening to its users, that’s a big plus for me.
As far as privacy is concerned i sincerely understand the concerns but I’m happy with the knowledge I can flip it on or off and it connects to my WiFi automatically and when i leave home I’m content in the knowing that I’ll receive notifications on any activations Straight to my mobile phone.
May be getting a 3rd just for the shed 😉

There’s no doubt about it, this camera is amazing value for money. I have now bought two – one of them replacing a camera at 5 times the price of this one. In summary:

    Pros:
    * Amazing price
    * Incredibly easy to set up
    * Software very easy to use
    * The link with Amazon Alexa is sweet!
    * Tiny foot print meaning its non-intrusive, I couldn’t believe how small the box is.
    * Picture quality. For the price you could not ask for more. Even night vision is reasonable.
    * Motion detection is very good – no false positives so far

Cons (Are all software and so hopefully sortable):
    * No IFTTT support (for the non technical this is a neat way to link home devices – such as turn on the lights if motion detected)
    * No ability to mask certain areas. The camera has a wide angle lens and so I need to be able to exclude certain areas from triggering a security alert.
    * They say in the manual that they advise using an SD memory card (this provides continuous loop recording rather than the 12 second clip you get from an alert). BUT there is no way of accessing the card files except to take the card out of the camera.

I have no hesitation in recommending this camera at this price point.

I am really hoping this is the start of something big. If this company produces products of this quality in the home security space its going to be quite exciting.

I couldn’t recommend this camera enough. I bought it on sale originally for 19.99 after seeing ads on facebook. very easy to setup. just scan your QR code on the phone once you download the app, add your wifi and that’s it. remote viewing works great, plenty of setting to suit you and the night vision is pretty good.
I set my alarm feature to notify me for movent in the house (you can do audio as well) once notified I just check to see all is ok.

Used to monitor my property during a 2 week holiday. Easy to set up and mount in right location. All working fine. Pic quality is good but don’t go expecting to be able to read number plates at 50M for example. Movement detection is good but the out of the box setting is too sensitive for me which meant I was getting 30-50 notifications per day of activity and when I viewed the clip it would be a branch of a tree moving slightly or similar. However, once adjusted, it is OK. Night vision works pretty well but the IR LED’s are very obviously ON so any real intruder would spot the cameras pretty easily. The App and server works pretty good and I also have an Echo Show 5 and this integrates with the NEOS cams very well too. Overall for 25 its about as good as it gets! Perfect for keeping an eye on delivery drivers, pets, kids etc but it’s no match for a proper wired CCTV system of course.

After a bike got stolen from my garden shed recently, I shelled out about 1500 on exterior/interior CCTV, Alarms & a secure bike store.

From everything I’ve bought, I can honestly say these little 25 cameras were one of my best purchases – Picture quality is very good, night vision is shockingly good & the Application for the most part just works, now whenever I go out I get an automatic “Home – Armed” alert and then when something in the house moves or a doorbell rings I get a notification about movement being detected or a sound being heard and the video clip is sent to the cloud (at no expense) so I can see/hear what happened.

I’m also very privacy focused (despite having cameras) so I typically turn off the cameras via Smart plugs when I’m at home, but I’ve also left them turned on monitored the cameras on my network & can say they basically never use bandwidth, so I’m quite confident theres no secretive/pervy things going on the only time they really do anything on the internet is when a clips been recorded or when ‘you’ are watching remotely.

I’ve also spoken to Neos and they’ve told me the data from the cameras is fully encrypted both in live viewing & when being sent to the cloud & can only be viewed by the owner (protected by ID/Pass) – the Cloud services are also provided by Amazon, so all channels seem secure & reputable.

Good quality camera works well in every function, perfect solution for drop in / activity monitoring , however not continuously on for constant viewing. Not suitable for uninterrupted viewing / monitoring. The option of streaming on would be good in order to allow use as say baby monitor or security viewer also. Would be five stars with this feature option .

These cameras are excellent. The quality of phenomenal for the price.
I previously had ‘cleverdog’ cameras and these Neos one a blow them out of the water.
The night vision can be disabled meaning you can have them pointing through a window at nighttime and not have the glare back off the infrared.

Only gripes are you can’t replay video direct from your camera app, it’s SD card out and into a PC.

The detection area for the motion detection is the full camera view. There is no zoning off, so if you’ve got a tree constantly moving in the wind you’ll get constant alerts all day long.

Comes with a plug and a very long FLAT usb cable which is easy to stick into place as opposed to a regular circular cable
Also comes with a metal base that can be double sided onto the camera.

I’m very impressed with this little camera. I had some issues setting up as my phone tried to fill in the Wifi details automatically which resulted in the camera being unable to connect. You’ll need to enter these manually for it to work. Suprisingly easy setup apart from the wifi issue which caught me out. I bought this to keep an eye on my dog whilst I was away, for security and to see what my sister was up to as she often visits whilst I am out!

Arms when I leave the house and records a short clip if it detects motion. I’ve put an microSD card in the camera for this purpose. I can hear the sound very clearly and can talk through the camera remotely too (although my dog is deaf so defeats the object). Picture is really clear. I am now thinking of getting one for the front of the house instead of one of those doorbells (heard there is a massive delay with those). The app is very easy to use. For the price this camera is amazing!

The quality is great for the price, compared to a super expensive camera it isn’t as good, but at this price you cant ask for much more. The night vision is great as well with a clear picture. The app is easy to setup as well, and the support from customer service is great, asked a question and they replied with support within a day.

First things, firts!! You don’t have, to add your address, to the app! This is only used, for the auto arming feature!! If you’d prefer to, arm it yourself, you can do so! Also, Neos don’t have access to your stream, as it’s end to end encrypted!!
That being said… It’s ok, but needs improvement..
Offering, a better record time, to the cloud, and a faster cooling off, period inbetween, is needed!..
Ofcourse you can, put a memory card in, for continued recording, that loops every 2 to 3 days….
Class 10 up to a max, of 32Gb is needed for this.

+ Amazing video quality (for the price).
+ I use it to monitor my pet at home and motion/noise detection works well.
    + Two way audio.
+ Auto records video clip when there is motion/noise detection.
+ Receive alerts via mobile app when there’s motion/noise detection.
    – Doesn’t seem to be able to access live feed on mobile when using mobile data. Have to connect to a WiFi network to do so. Not sure if that’s a device or network issue.
Would recommend if looking for something to monitor your house or pet whilst away.

This is a great wee camera for the price (18 in the recent Prime sale). Free app, free cloud storage of recordings, available microSD card slot, magnetic mounting included.

Very easy to set up; just download the app, provide your name and e-mail (no longer requires you to provide a phone number or address), connect the app to your wifi, use the cam to scan a QR code shown on the app and give the cam a name.

The app is simple to use and, given that the cloud storage is free, provides a good service. Noise and motion detection has worked flawlessly thus far. It records a few seconds prior to the movement/noise which is handy. The camera can be ‘armed’ (ready to detect motion/noise) manually in the app, so automatically if you put your address into the app.

I bought two and they both show up on the app together. Tap on either and you go into the live feed plus access to recordings.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I am really impressed with this camera.
Had a different one before but the software was crunchy, and the camera seemed to emit a noise when it was on so the dog would always bark at it.
But this, this I am impressed with. Compact, has a magnetic base with fixing if needed, nice long usb cable, good picture quality (plenty good enough to zoom in on). Night vision is good too, plenty enough light / spread of light to see the whole kitchen but without any hot spots of light.
Motion and audio detection works well. I wanted to be notified if the dog barked and it has worked perfectly for that every time, and it records a video clip so I can see what is going on.
App is easy to use with really nice layout and features. And you can get to straight to any support through the app. Not had to use it yet but a nice touch.
I haven’t been genuinely impressed with a piece of tech this much in a long time, hence the review! (And the fact the previous camera was such a faff!)

Awesome little camera. Can’t wait to order more and watch as they develop new cameras going for and develop new connectivity. It works well during the day and night giving good picture. Even with the sensitivity dialled down the camera pics up the lights switching on (they’re on a timer) and notify you if movement which is nice but a little annoying. Other than that I can’t find a fault. I got one and I got my mum one and they were both set up in under 5 mins each!

Great little camera for keeping an eye on my dog. I find the sound and motion detection excellent- it’s definitely worth experimenting with sensitivity levels. Could easily be used for security purposes.

I have docked a star because I occasionally find that the connection with my phone fails and can’t be retrieved until I have turned the camera off and on again. This happens even when my phone is connected to a strong Wi-Fi signal.

I can talk to my dog if she is a bit unsettled. I think she finds that quite confusing, but it at least distracts her for a bit!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWow, I’m seriously impressed with this little piece of kit. I know it states it is for internal use only, but I’ve installed it in an enclosed porch way to cover the approach to my door, so there is no chance of it getting wet or damp. (A risk I’m willing to take for the price I paid)
It was an absolute doddle to link up to my home Wi-fi network, which can’t be said of 2 external Ip cams that came at twice the price.
Very good easy to use app on iPhone and iPad. I’ve also linked it up to my Echo Show in the kitchen and Echo Spot in the bedroom without any problems at all and the picture quality is excellent. Unfortunately you can’t verbally communicate between Alexa and the camera, yet, but I can quite clearly via the app on my iPhone and iPad.
I can seriously recommend this brilliant little device, that is also quite cute. I have no doubts at all that I will be buying another very soon to protect my man cave from unwelcome intruders.

Update 26/10/19. Since writing the above review I’ve installed a further camera in my kitchen to watch over my dogs and to cover the back door. Again it was a doddle to set up and fit. It sticks to the side of the fridge with the magnetic base. As with my first camera it works perfectly. I’m now in the process of buying my third camera to cover my man cave in the garden.
Since installing my first camera, I have bought a waterproof housing for it from Amazon and it still works perfectly, even with the torrential rain we have had for the past month or so.

    Brilliant piece of ki

The reason there’s a lot of geographical and personal information required is so you can set up the auto disarm function. Leave/enter a radius area of your house and it’s on/off, if you set this function. This is great to prevent unwanted notifications. But you can turn this on/off. So far there have been a few outages but overall exceptional value for money! Wide angle image and clever motion action traction of trees etc seems to work when facing out. Great as a dog cam pointing in.

Not sure about all these weirdos who won’t provide their location to the camera YOU CAN SKIP THIS IF YOU WANT as this automatically arms the device when you leave your hours that the reason for it – What on earth do they think they’re going to do with this information, after all your ordering it from a mail order company so how did they find you to deliver it??? Some people have weird ideas! GREAT PRODUCT and I can’t see a problem providing the information required.

Excellent piece of kit, the only reason I’ve awarded 4stars instead of 5 is the amount of personal information required in the app setup.
It is possible to lie and it doesn’t check but it would stop the auto arming feature working. Having the option to opt out of providing that information while letting the user know of the limitations would be best.

  63. NestorMcLeish says:

I was dubious of these but now have 8 of them covering all non-private areas of my property.

The wire leading to them is flat enough to clip with small 3M clips so they aren’t prominent or you could place them in trunking. The base of the camera is magnetic and because of this it is incredibly easy to mount anywhere.

I currently use two as baby monitors, and the other 8 for home security. I have two facing through windows into the garden. With all cameras you can individually set the sensitivity for motion and noise detection, meaning the garden cameras work great and only detect large objects (people) not small objects (birds and bushes).

The setup process isn’t too intrusive – the address information is just use to get a GPS pointer on a map – which you can move anyway. I put a different address and moved the pointer. Setup also takes around 5 minutes per camera, including firmware updates. One thing I did find is that I needed to crash the iPhone app after 5 minutes of the firmware installing because it got stuck. But this didn’t impact the camera or connectivity at all.

Night vision works great and image quality is ok – but not 100% fantastic. For the price of the camera the image quality is amazing. The two way communication works well with minimal delay.

I did use auto arming for a while, but I had currently disable this as the app doesn’t seem to locate my wife’s phone well. We both have iPhones but hers seems to disconnect from the app. Meaning she will go home and I get notifications saying movement in the house. Before this issue it worked well.

The Alexa skills are ok, but slightly slow to load (10-15 seconds). However if you have cameras in separate building or a garage and want to have a peek at midnight it is very convenient. This works on Fire TV and Echo Show.

The app is great and constantly updated. The cameras only take a few seconds to load if you have a good signal. You get a snapshot from the last half hour or so on the home screen then you can go into each camera for a live view. It saves 5 second clips when the house is armed and motion or noise is detected. If you put a micro SD card in then it records constantly and overwrites old data first. These clips are saved into 1 minute files in folders on the SD card. Currently you can only view this on a PC – which is no big deal. I believe the developer is currently looking to introduce a viewing mechanism in the app.

You can turn the power light off from the back (through the app) if you want the camera hidden. Or keep it on – I have the one in the conservatory in to deter intruders.

The cameras work in different networks (I have two WiFi networks) and link to the same account in the app for easy browsing.

I believe these are a fantastic addition to any home security setup. I currently have a monitored alarm, and now if that goes off I can view my entire house from anywhere in the world and call the police if needed. For 25 a camera that peace of mind cannot be matched.

Great product, great price and great customer service when I have needed to ask questions.

This little camera is excellent. Setup is quick and the privacy concerns previously raised (providing home address on sign up) have been address by the developer. The base of the camera (the light grey bit) is magnetised which means it is easy to position – a metal disc and double sided sticky pad are also included for tool free mounting. There is a little lag based on what you are viewing and this should be expected. My router is in the attic so wifi is good downstairs but not strong – the camera live stream was a little patchy as a result but moving it upstairs the issue goes with a stronger wifi signal.

This product has great potential probably.
I have not managed to set mine up with an Echo Show yet. The Neos website gives brief instructions on set-up with an Android tablet – but I would have liked more self-explanatory, step-by-step, and totally unambiguous instructions (written for “dummies” if you will) geared to users of Amazon devices – whether Amazon Fire Tablets, or Echo Show or ideally both.
The Amazon devices user-base is so huge internationally, that I’m surprise neither Neos, nor Amazon themselves, have thought of providing such unambiguous user-instructions for technically challenged customers. My plan is to hang-on to my new camera – unused – until such instructions become available. A shame really – as I would have liked to have given a more glowing product review.

Bought three cameras, after a few small technical issues/queries which were corrected via text chat all three are working superbly. Discussed cameras with our local IT store who thought they were amazing value (I showed him what was happening at home via my phone app). Very sensitive noise detection even on the lowest setting. Alerts sent to our phones in real time. There sometimes can be a delay (or glitch?) in self arming the system when both phones leave the house? Would I recommend this product? – Definitely.

For the money this is a great little camera. I have had a few niggles and issues initially, but all seems well now….

General setting up and connecting to the wifi worked fine. I downloaded the app and all was up and running quickly. I did have issues getting the geo-fencing working with my phone. I’m not sure why but it seemed to take a couple of days to “settle down” and react to whether my phone was in the house or not, but since then has been working fine. I did contact Neos about it, but by the time they had responded it seemed to be working ok anyway.

The other minor issue is that the night vision mode is set to auto, and occasionally it doesn’t seem to reset to normal mode when it becomes day time. It isn’t due to the amount of light in the room as the camera is very near the window and there is plenty of light entering the room. Its not a major issue anyway as the picture quality in both night mode and day mode is ok. It’s only 1080p but this is not an expensive camera so its more than good enough for the price.

The voice communication worked ok – I tried it away fro the home on my 4G phone and I could hear what was being said and vice versa.

It is a shame that you can’t record longer clips, but again, so far this hasn’t been an issue.

I was taken by surprise by how small this was…! For some reason I had expected it to be bigger, but having not taken too much notice of the dimensions. But this means it is quite unobtrusive in the room.

All in all I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great value security camera.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI am going to base my review on what I actually think about the product other than the perceived intrusiveness that has impaired the consumers judgement.

If you are worried about privacy though, I would suggest that this smart cam is not for you as the sign up process requires ‘very personal’ details.

At the time of writing this review 9/06/19 I have owned the Neos Smart Cam for over a month now. (Purchased 8/06/19).

Unrivalled by any other smart cam at its price point, coming in at 25, the Neos Smart Cam in my opinion is revolutionary as it brings home security to the consumer at an affordable price.

The camera is small in size, it’s dimensions are 5 x 5 x 5.6 cm, and it features a sleek, adorable, Disney Pixar like shape with a foldable stand that allows for 360 degree movement which allows you to capture several different angles. The stand has a magnetic base which makes mounting easy, or you have the option to use the adhesive sticker that comes with it. The build itself is made from good quality plastic and is sturdy enough to withstand dropping it.

Its size, and looks alone is low profile, and its cuboidal shape allows it to be housed in many disguises which makes it the ultimate security camera.

    Features:

The camera is intended for indoor use only, however there are various housing brackets that can be used to use it outside, although if rain seeps in it may break it.

For a 25 smart cam, the picture quality is remarkable. Its 110 wide angle lense allows you to capture a wide field of view at 1080p, enough to make out facial features and enables 8X digital zoom to objectively focus the camera.

The Camera has a 1/2.9″ CMOS sensor which enables motion detection with alerts that will alert your phone of any movement it picks up. Believe me when I say this, the motion detector is good enough to pick up flies, or the slightest movement of a curtain which became more of an annoyance over time.

After a motion is detected, it saves a 12 second video clip onto the Neos Smart Cam App which can either be downloaded or saved.

The app itself gives free indefinite cloud footage that saves clips for up to 14 days. Any clip that isn’t saved after 14 days gets deleted from the cloud.

The Camera also has night vision mode, which allows you to see up to 9 metres in total darkness. For its price, the night vision is one of the selling points that got me. The camera will also auto adjust to night vision if it senses darkness, and has the option to toggle it on or off in its app.

The Camera also enables 2-Way audio which allows you to listen or talk to the person on the other end using the SmartCam’s built in speaker and microphone.

The app allows you to take advantage of its “always on feature” which means that if you purchase the Neos Smart Cam’s Micro Sd card, you can record up to 48 hours worth of footage straight before having to wipe the cards memory again. This is something other Smart Cameras don’t do, and force you to pay a cloud subscription which can be expensive.

The most notable features of the camera itself is found in the app which gives you a variety of settings, notifications and other options.

The camera can also be paired with smart devices such as google home, alexa or television.

The only notable con of this Security Camera is the lengthy and intrusive sign up process.

Other than that, it is not water proof or intended for outside. However I found that it makes a good inexpensive alternative to a doorbell camera when cased inside a doorbell case with a doorbell sensor.

Overall, I would recommend this to anybody who is needs home security but doesn’t want to spend too much.

Great camera. Works very well with a good clear picture. Customer support is outstanding and there are no cloud storage fees unlike some rather expensive big brand cameras. It’s not a wyze cam so don’t try installing wyze firmware cos it won’t work. I need to buy another for the back (maybe prime day if it’s discounted). Do yourself a favour and get the mounting kit as well, the extra length provided by the extension usb cable makes fitting so much easier. The app will most likely be regularly updated and will provide more functionality at each update. A bargain for the price.

Super little security camera at a great price I was sceptical when I brought this because it was so cheap however the quality of the picture in both day and night mode are exceptional at this price point.

This works with my amazon show 5 all you need to do is enable the skill with the Alexa app and your video feed can be displayed on the screen you can also access this camera from the smartphone app for both iOS and Android I have an iPhone and the app works flawlessly.

If movement is detected the camera records a 15 sec clip and uploads it to amazons cloud where it will stay for 15days allowing you to view it or download it onto your phone after 15 days clips are automatically deleted and this is all included free of charge unlike some more expensive cameras that require you buy a storage subscription.

    I can’t this recommend enough

A bit sceptical at first due to the low price and lack of reviews. But I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. Fantastic camera, nice easy app to follow and use. I did have one problem where the motion didn’t capture a second movement immediately after the first, however I contacted the company and was told if you insert a memory card into the camera then there’s no downtime at all. Would 100% recommend. Even bought one for our nursery and installed one outside (undercover) and had no further problems!

Excellent camera. Very easy to set up and actually fun to do.
You can add micro sd card if you want constant 3 day recording else you need to set up ” sound and movement ” Recording and It will record these to the cloud (deleted after 7 days). Within the app.

Bought one initially and then added a second for the garage. It connects to 2.4gHz channel only.

Some people moaning about giving personal data. The app has a geo fence so when you’re out it’ll set up the “sound and movement” arm/disarm as and when you leave the house. It cannot do this if it doesn’t know your location.

  73. Lynwood42V says:

     United Kingdom

They are good cameras for the price to have around the house, even outdorrs if they are sheltered from the rain.
I couldn’t get mine to record on an sd card i installed but maybe it wasn’t formatted properly .. it didn’t bother too much so left it alone. the app works fine but does crash if you rush it and doesn’t seem to have all the features as the Wyze cam app, it also needs to know every detail about you before it can be set up so not impressed with that. Night vision is so so, motion detection is spot on and will contact you every time a blade of grass moves if you let it, picture quality is fine and better than some more expensive cameras i’ve had.
If you plan on buying more than one get them direct from the Neos website then you only pay the delivery once… 20 + 4.99 delivery

It’s smart looking, a great stand which means it can be positioned quite well. But the sound quality (both ways) is awful, night vision is pretty poor to unless something is within a metre of the camera and not in pitch black. The picture during the day is okay, but would have expected better for 1080p still. The notifications are good and the app is good also.

  75. LeanneChiaramon says:

I was a bit put off at first considering it used to require your address and phone number, allegedly to do auto arm/disarm when you arrive or leave home. Now it’s been removed and you are able to choose the auto-disarm based on your phone GPS and it’s optional.
    Pros:
The image quality is excellent. Crispy colours and a good angle of view enough to capture a full room wall to wall from a central point.
The night view is good too, the usual black and white with clear imaging.
The camera is a nice super small cube with an extending magnetic base which means you can easily place and adjust it anywhere, vertically and horizontally. You can even place it upside down.
The app works perfectly well, and is simple to use.
Comes with a white USB cable and plug, and is long enough.
Integrates with Alexa just fine. You can view the camera live feed almost real time (maybe 2-3 secs delay).
    There’s 2-way audio!
It captures noises as well as motion.
Motion detector comes with face tracking, although not sure that means anything really.
    Cons:
The motion detector is too sensitive and captures even the glare of the sun in my rooms.
The noise detector can be sensitive too, as my upstairs neighbour steps easily trigger it.

It’s such a good bargain I ended up buying a second one.

I am astonished at the performance and quality of my camera. It does everything that is claimed of it to a fantastic standard. Even the customer support is quick and efficient too. Initially this was a test purchase as I was slightly put off by the extremely reasonable pricing. The reality is that despite being low cost it is extremely good value, easy to use (two minutes to set up). As soon as I finish my decorating I shall be purchasing another couple. Lol, currently I feel omniscient being able to access via my phone livestream images of my property.

At 20 each these are a steal. I would recommend that these are used in a home with MESH wifi as they need a good strong signal.

Setup is relatively easy and the tech support and after sales team seem really keen to keep your custom. All app settings are done through an app (I’ve tested this on iOS) and it is stable and easy to use. It links with Amazon Alexa and through voice commands can show you the camera on you TV if you have a ‘fire tv’ device.

The camera records 12s snippets of video if motion or sound are detected and saves this to the cloud for free. It then stops for 5 minutes. If you want to record all video and audio an micro sd card can be insterted into the camera.

An option to store video to network attached storage would be great, however at the price the feature set is reasonable. considering NEST cameras are 6-7 times this price and that’s not factoring their very expensive cloud storage facilities.

    Recommended.

I was not expecting much for this price tag but I was so wrong.
The unit itself is dinky and the base is magnetic which is very handy.
The camera is really easy to set up. You download the app, plug the camera in, get it ti read a QR code that the app produces and it is done.
The motion and sound detection system works really well and you can set the camera to arm and disarm using the gps on your phone.
The picture quality is great and the app is so easy to use. I am literally blown away by this product so I now have 2 of them.

Very good for the price however if you expand the memory through an SD card, you can’t view the playback from the app. Instead you’d have to plug it into a computer. The motion sensor is very good however it only alerts me to movement via the app 15minutes after it triggered. Can’t complain for the price though.

I have only had this camera for a few days so have not really had time to be in a position to give a full in depth review. However, one thing I can comment on is installation. I notice a few reviews stating that the reviewers met with problems at this stage. I can honestly say that I had no problems whatsoever, I downloaded the app from the Play Store to my phone and then followed instructions and everything worked first time – maybe I was lucky, I don’t know. First impressions are good, the camera shows a good quality picture, motion detection works very well indeed, the sound is okay and the night vision seems to be good. As for everyday use, I need to get more familiar with the software before commenting, so will return at at a later stage and update this review. All I will say is, so far anyway, I have no regrets, especially as I got it on an offer price of 19.99 inclusive.

Easy to setup, connects to WiFi very easily.
I recently spent 70 trying to get a battery webcam and the camera I bought wasn’t great. This along with a USB battery pack (Powers by MicroUSB) works great! Built in magnetic foot stand is nice and strong and you can easily angle the camera to various angles not just up and down. Really impressed, might buy another!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use Nest, Ring and Neos cameras. Nest is the best build but doesn’t integrate well with Alexa. Ring are great but expensive. This is a nice cheap little camera (it also looks and feels cheap). Picture quality is acceptable though the software is a little buggy. That said, support is great (though sometimes a little vague). Love the fact your recordings are free to store, but they’re very short – probably too short. My main beef is the alexa integration- it’s minimal. Sure you can view the camera on your echo show screen (though there can be a lag) but that’s about it. Neos were looking to integrate further by allowing routines (ie Alexa makes announcement and turns on lights if Camera detects motion) but these plans appear to have been shelved. Great if you want a cheap, fun camera in your house, but I wouldn’t really put it in the home security category and I’m surprised they sometimes bundle this camera with the echo show 5 given the limited Alexa integration. If things change, I’ll update this review

This camera is just brilliant. We have a house full of Nest Cams and got this free with home insurance. Was skeptical at first as used to Nest but after a simple install it was up and running and I was blown away. Great picture quality day and night, app works nicely and the fact you get 14 days cloud backup for nothing is amazing!! We used this to keep an eye on the dogs at night in their little house and loved it so much that went and brought another one for the garage. If you are reading this considering buying one I say go for it you won’t regret it.

Great little camera for the money, picture quality excellent, ability to record onto SD card, which my Ring devices don’t have, nice to have short clips save to AWS free too.

Streamed video quality smoother than my far more expensive Ring devices too.

Easy setup and app is good, although I’d like to see scheduled arming of the camera as an option, and the ability to arm individual devices manually rather than always as a group.

Very nice to have recordings on noise detection too.

Alexa integration is a little limited, would like to be able to use in Alexa routines but it isn’t yet possible, while asking Alexa to show live video constantly buffers the video although live view through the app works fine, not a great experience hence the loss of one star.

So good though that I just bought two more for other areas of the house to compliment my exterior Ring solution.

    Grate value for money.
We now have 4 of those ( small kids at the house).
    Good points:
    – easy to setup. ( the app freezes when updating the firmware but you close the app and restart it and it works. Keep an eye on the led light on the camera.)
    – app works good 99% of the time. Easy to use. Intuitive.
    – currently using 64GB microSD card and works perfectly.
    – Night vision and motion detection works perfectly ( unlike the Foscams they have now replaced).
    – notifications on the phone are useful – if you need them.
    – cannot get any cheaper!
    – free 2 weeks storage on the cloud. Very useful future.

    Bad points:
    – Picture quality is poor. I compare it on the laptop (from the SDcard) to a 7 years old Foscam and there is a massive difference. Both are 1080p.
It still does the job but not as sharp as the Foscam.
    – app drains the battery if you have location services on ( auto arm when not at home). I now arm it manually every day.
    – cannot view the recordings on the SDcard unless you take the card out and put it in a laptop.
    – microphone is quiet. Could be more louder. I can barely hear conversations 3 ft away from the camera.
    – microphone sensitivity too high. ( sensitivity at minimum and I still get alerts when a truck drives in front of the house)
    – app asks too many personal questions. Some may find it intrusive.
( i.e. exact address. They could have used location services instead)

For this price they are excellent. The app will hopefully improve soon.

I recently found that this has won an award for best gadget under 100 and I can understand why. It’s so good for the money it’s untrue. Great app, intuitive, good features, free backup online, good night vision, audio including 2 way when viewing live (good for front door). Also no problems with wifi – I have had problems in the past with wireless cameras and they were an utter pain.
My only complaint was how difficult it was to setup so I could view it via my Echo Show. I work in IT so this should have been a stroll in the park! I SHOULD STRESS THIS WAS DOWN TO AMAZON ALEXA AND NOT THE CAMERA OR APP.

    [UPDATE]
    – NEOs have decided to add in scheduling to arm/disarm the camera, but for the price of 3.49 a month. This seems like such a basic offering I cannot believe they would charge for it.

That’s a deal breaker for me and so now they’re going on ebay!

You do get extra cloud storage with that – something I’m not particularly interested in.

    [Original review]

Firstly, this is an excellent camera for the price. The image quality is great, motion tracking works well and the speaker is loud enough for a 2 way conversation.

In response to the security concerns, you ARE required to provide your address on signup (although you could provide fake details), but you DO NOT need to provide access to your iPhone’s location, unless you want to use the auto arm / disarm feature. This is true for iPhone, but I haven’t tested Android.

When armed and motion is detected, the camera will send a notification to your phone. It will also record 12 seconds of footage and upload it to the cloud. It will then “cool down” for 5 minutes – it will stop recording and uploading. After 5 minutes have elapsed, it will record and upload again. However you can view the live video feed at any time via the app.

You CANNOT currently set the camera to auto arm/disarm according to a timed schedule so if you don’t want to share your phone’s location, you have to manually arm the camera via the app. Arming to a schedule would be a very welcome addition.

You can insert a Micro SD card into the camera and it will continuously record, while over-writing the oldest footage. Unfortunately you CANNOT access the footage from the app (although an update is promised later in the year to do this), so you have to remove the SD card and insert it into your computer.

Overall I am very impressed with the camera apart from the two issues mentioned above, which hopefully Neos will rectify soon!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI ordered this camera from Amazon after checking out Wyze cam on US store and thinking that I am ordering a Wyze cam. After struggling couple of hours to setup the cam with Wyze app did I realise it infact was not a Wyze cam 🙁

Fast forward 30 minutes and I have a fully set up Neos camera. I’ve tested most of the features including CO & smoke detector (careful here – cam will only detect the sound made by your existing detectors. Don’t expect it to function as a full CO & smoke detector). For the functionalities this camera offers and its well made design, I am loving every bit of the original mistake I have made. Its worth it in every respect. Amazing!!

My only moan for now is lack of IFTTT channel. Without this, there is no much automation capabilities with this product. I plan to use it as part of my home security and automation is very important for me. Reading about the way this company has come so far, I am sure IFTTT integration is just a question of When.

This camera is fantastic, high resolution picture quality, really great value and comprehensive feature set comparable to cameras worth several hundred pounds! The app works really well and is easy to use. I especially like the auto-arming that automatically detects whether you are home (based on your address) and arms or disarms the camera recording functionality and notifications. Night vision and motion detection works really well and I like the green box in the app that focuses where the motion has been seen. It also works with Alexa Spot Integration – just ask to show a specific room the video pops up on screen. The potential for this system is super exciting and I’ve ordered another 4 to position around my flat. Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat camera packed with all the features (and more) of cameras 5x it’s value.

Had x2 Nest cam indoors for around 12 months at 129 each, and while they are great cameras, I’ve never been a fan of a subscription to get at my recorded footage.

Enter the Neos Smart cam, all the features of a 129 Nest cam indoor but at 1/5th of the price how could you say no?

Great daytime and night vision image quality, motion and noise detection that is adjustable in sensitivity or just turn it off completely, onboard SD card storage allowing constant recording, app is a little quirky but I believe updates are on the cards, setup is completed in 2mins tops, although the firmware update hangs for an eternity, force closing and restarting the app after 5mins cured this.

And the biggest positive for myself is absolutely no subscription to access footage.(upto 14 days old)

I’m so happy with them I’ve sold my 2 Nest cams and brought 3 of these with change to spare.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDon’t be put off by the review stating you need to give over your phone number, and location for no reason! The phone number during signup is, in fact, optional and doesn’t need to be provided! The location is asked for but isn’t again isn’t needed to use the camera! The location is used so that it is able to auto arm the motion detection which is again optional!

As for the camera itself, it is well built and small enough to stick in a corner and forget about, love how easy it is to setup up too.

Having the additional option to put in a MicroSD card to keep recording longer is a massive positive too.

For the price, I can’t complain and in fact going to purchase more, not just for security reasons but use them as a way to monitor my 3D prints to make sure they don’t fail.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI was looking for a smart camera for two reasons 1 – to watch our dog whilst out and 2 – as an added part of security for our home. I had looked at the Nest cameras and other high end cameras for a while and always put off the price point. I don’t mind paying 100+ for smart home tech, but when you need to buy multiples for each room it is too much money. These cameras are fab and do everything the high end ones do. I bought two and they were super easy to set up, I had a couple of questions on the motion/noise detection along with the auto arming and customer service chat via the app was super helpful and quick. I’m actually astounded at the quality of these little cameras for such a low price point. I hope the company continues to develop its functions with specifically something like enabling time scheduling for auto arming to come on. With regards to putting in your address details as some others have moaned about, this is for the location auto arming to come on when you leave home and then turns off when you return. I may buy another couple next month!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersConsidering how much all other smart home cameras cost, this is an absolute bargain. The box has the camera, wall plug, USB charging cable, a silver magnetic disc to hold it and adhesive strip. When it comes to smart home cameras, what’s really important is the app it comes with and it does exactly what you’d want it to do.

Set up was easy, the camera has a relatively wide angled lens to see more, and it links to your mobile location to auto activate the motion control on/off if you want.

The only negative is that it doesn’t work with Google Home hub at the moment. Not a biggie though, as most people will mainly be buying it to record/monitor whilst you’re out of the house.
