A neat machine with a good solid feel and small footprint so it can fit easily onto most worktops. It makes a good coffee, but I’ve had better and the process is quite noisy although it is fairly fast. The process is very simple and the price is reasonable. If your not looking for a really top flight coffee, I’m happy to recommend.
Great little coffee maker, just makes plain coffee, nothing else.
My coffee machine died and this was the perfect replacement it’s quick effective and stylish! I have it on my desk, creates no mess or steam very happy with i
I bought this to use in the motorhome since it has a small footprint and would not impinge too greatly on the rather small worktop. It makes too mugs of coffee from one filling of the water tank, so is ideal for us two. The container for the used capsules hols about four before it needs emptying, so, again, ideal for us.
he nespresso is very good. It is just the pods which are very variable in performance and quality. good buy
Takes up almost no space on my countertop and makes a delicious shot of coffee in less than a minute. I turn the dispensed drink into a latte by adding 200 ml of microwaved milk. Easy to use, easy to clean, and my local shop sells the pods. 10/10
After many years of various coffee machines the coffee from this machine is delicious, easy to make and the machine very easy to clean. There is a special offer of 100 free capsules that comes with it.
his is by far the best coffee machine i have ever owned. The flavour is excellent and its a nice compact size. You have to get one because for this price its so good. Much better than the others and trust me ive used them all. Amazon also have there own pods for this which are a great price and taste awsome
Love it – although it is quite fiddly to use. The pods have a mind of their own and sometimes go shooting down to the bottom without producing coffee.
My only fault of this machine is that it is not big enough. That was my purchasing error. For someone who doesn’t need quite as much coffee as me in the morning it would be perfect.
Bought this machine for my partners birthday as he really wanted one. Its brilliant and does the job, stylish and compact looking which we like because we didnt want anything too bulky. We’re happy
Product itself is great.
Buying experience not great as it didn’t arrive with the capsules as promised in the description.
Only a small thing but frustrating to have the one element missing that stops you from using the machine straight away.
I had the previous model, which did seem more robust, however it broke after 3 years as I didn’t clean it regularly. This model seems just as good and hopefully will last longer with regular cleaning
We replaced our much more expensive machine with this after using it in an Airbnb. I can’t emphasise how perfect the coffee is, much hotter than before for starters and perfectly creamy. It’s also very compact and sleek. Absolutely love it.
This is really neat! Bought to replace old leaky Krups. We were worried it would be too small but is perfect for 2. The reservoir is easy to fill and attach and it takes up less room than our old one. You can even stand a mug under. It’s brill, well worth the money. Best coffee eve
Great, easy to use Nespresso machine. Very compact and tidy. Holds 5 spent capsules so be ready to empty regularly. Great free pod offers from Nespresso when you register the machine, as well as free pods with the machine in the box add up to a value greater than the cost of the machine. Produces a great crema and hot coffee. I have the original milk frother and can make a cappuccino as good as any high street coffee, and even at 35p a pod from Nespresso, it’s still almost 10 times cheaper, and you can still get your MacBook out and pretend to be writing your next novel in your own kitchen!
Bought on offer and with the free pods. Lovely tasting coffee. It’s going to take me a while to go through all the different variations.
Great little device.
Bought it during the lock down as I found myself drinking more coffee while working from home.
It’s a stylish design and quite compact so shoul fit well in any free space.
Easy to use with two options for cup size.
No problems so far it’s been very reliable.
It’s a bit noisy when working but not too bad.
The flavour is quite good but depends on the coffee pods you use.
It’s not the most advanced so best used for begginers or someone who wants a quick coffee option.
It’s not to difficul to clean either but best to buy some specialised tablets.
Overall for the price is recommended it. Definitely a good option for no fuss home coffee
I liked very much because it is very easy to use very Happy
I have one of these in black. Bought a white 1 for my parents who are in their 70s. They love it and haven’t drunk instant since!
Nice small machine and have been using Amazon own coffee which is really dece
Can’t fault the product but I was very unhappy with the state the item was delivered (see pictures). Luckily the packaging of the item inside the box was good as the damage on the outside would have left the item marked and possibly broken if it wasn’t.
Lovely looking piece of kit. Very smart and easy to use and fits anywhere in the kitchen. I’d easily give this a five star in all areas but the coffee simply isn’t hot enough. It needs drinking within a minute whether it’s an espresso or large cup etc , which is disappointing in my opinion. Needs a quick microwaving or just gulp it dow
I am so glad I bought this coffee machine. I don’t know how I have managed to do it without a coffee machine for so long. It’s easy to use, takes little space, easy to clean, easy to use for cups and mugs of different sizes. Also there is such a great selection of pods available in the supermarkets. I love it so much.
beautiful handy little machine, comes with 20 separate capsules (all different), of which ive sampled 6 in the last hour, so i have caffeine jitters. Amazingly simple to set up. And if you buy it within the next month, if you register your serial number on nespresso’s site, you get 100 free capsules and 25 free coffee club credit.
Hands down the single best lockdown purchase! The only thing I missed about going to work was getting my morning coffee from Pret. This was a great solution. And easy enough for my 8 year old to operate and bring me coffee while I’m working. Genius!!
Like the machine it is small and compact.. like the machine it is small and compact. But trying to find my favourite coffee .
Only downside with this product is that the water container is a little small and the drink is a little slow to pour.
It’s quiet though, much quieter than the magimix machine it replaced. For the money you can’t go wrong.
It’s not really White, more a bright cream colour. Ok granted there are 1000’s of whites but compared to my old Lavazza that is WHITE – this is not. If I could get another of those (in white again) I wouldn’t have brought this NESPRESSO they’re a bit Blah … but cheap enough.
Haven’t slept in days!! I need to stop drinking espresso!! Bit damn it tastes so good!! Also so small it fits in the back of my va
So small it fits neatly into any kitchen but it certainly does the job well. I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to making coffee any other way. Why would I? this is so simple & no mess. We’ve had the Nespresso for a couple of months now and it’s working just fine (& it gets a lot of use)
Replacement for my almost eight year old model.
This one looks better. Sleek, slimline and minimalistic.
Flavour obviously depends on type of pod used.
I use strength 10 or 11 and always perfect.

Easy setup instructions, takes 5 minutes to set up and get started. Fast and easy to use. A little louder than other machines, but overall not bad.
Great little machine. I had a Nespresso Le Cube that I loved and then a hight end bean to cup machine. I love this one best, stylish and small footprint but coffee not at all compromised. Very clever design. So perfect I’m going to buy another.
I guess the hint is in the name. This mini coffee machine is tiny! I should have checked the dimensions when I bought it to replace my previous Nespresso machine…
The upside of its diminutive size is that it takes up very little space, the downside is that it needs filling with water and emptying of pods very regularly (at least it does if you drink as much coffee as I do).
This is an excellent machine which feels very solidly made and like all Nespresso machines the coffee it produces is absolutely superb.
Highly recommended.
Saving a lot of space in the kitchen, can fit easily any narrow space. Water & used caps recipient for 1 day use ie: 5/6 coffees max. Adaptable capsules suit perfectly, including refillable ones. Makes very good short expresso with enough Bar pressure to get foam on top as I like. The product I expected, perfect.
Do recommend to anyone liking real short and strong espresso and longer morning coffee as well but no americano or any other fancy kind of coffee.
Purchased for my teenage daughter for her birthday therefore not yet used it. I am reviewing based on my experience of using the exact same one both in holiday homes and at my mum’s house. The machine is easy to use and makes great coffee. Does make some noise but not overly loud. Most supermarkets sell me sores so pods aswell as their own brands which are compatible.
The machine was delivered quickly and packaging seems fine.
It is extremely slow and seems to hold less than the previous machine, however it’s very neat in my small kitchen.
Tiny nespresso machine that can fit everywhere. A year of almost every day use and still going. Price was the best at the time of purchase. Only setback is that the used capsule box needs almost everyday to be emptied
Great machine – small, stylish and works exactly as you’d expect for a Nespresso machine. I bought this to replace an 7 year-old Krups Pixie that started leaking and it’s an excellent update. That old machine did well for a long time – I have no complaints about needing to replace after 7 years.
I only make black coffee at home (espresso or 250ml long black) and these machines are great for that.
It’s a relatively small machine so it was hard to figure out what size cup will fit on the drip tray – my 80mm (3 1/4″) cups fit great. You can squeeze up to about 90mm or 3 1/2″ high cups in there (bigger if you take off the drip tray, but then…drips on the worktop).
A good, small, stylish, reasonably priced Nespresso machine.
Best decision I made.
I initially went a cheaper route by getting a tassimo machine but did not realise I definitely got what I paid with the poor quality but nespresso is on a different level.. Aside from the great taste in coffee, there more availability of other pods that are compatible with the machine
I bought this nespresso machine to replace my older and much larger nespresso machine. I like the fact that this is far more sleek and takes up far less space than my old machine. My only slight gripe with it is that the coffee does take a long time to dispense. Other than that, it is a great product.
This has been a life saver during lock down, was desperate for good coffee and this certainly delivers.
I really love this one. Had a Tassimo before and you cannot really compare the two. Nespresso makes tasty coffee and there is so many varieties and manufacturers to choose from. Every supermarket, including the cheap ones, makes their own capsules that fit. I froth milk with a hand held frother and even though with Tassimo I could use a milk pod, the actual taste is so much better.
I bought this as a replacement for a Magimix Innissia which I liked but sprung a leak after 3 1/2 years of moderate use. This is smaller, neater and does the job just as well having tried it out. Highly recommended.
This nespresso machine was so much smaller than I expected it to be but very very powerful! Set up was extremely easy and all you have to do is follow the little guide. It came with 14 sample Nespresso pods which was a very nice surprise and it meant I could immediately use the machine. The machine’s job is only to heat water and pass it through the pod and it does that really well – it’s up to you to find the pods that are working for you. Fortunately there are about a million choices out there (I’ve found surprisingly that the Starbucks pods are stronger and richer in flavour and more value for money than the OG pods by Nespresso).
If you’re a fan of milk based coffees like lattes, mochas and cappucinnos, I HIGHLY recommend getting a milk frother with this. I got the Lavazza A La Mode and it’s honestly made my home made coffee through pods and frothers almost as good as a barista style coffee! Well worth it and all you have to make is 35 cups of coffee for you to break even (compared to a Pret/Starbucks in the mornings). I used to own a Dolce Gusto and while those have more pod flavour options, they come NOWHERE close to a Nespresso+frothed milk in terms of depth and intensity of flavour, and overall experience. Really happy I spent my money on a brand that understands coffee.
The best part is that it gives you some control on what you want, without too much! My morning coffees tend to be a couple spoons of hot chocolate powder in the cup, 1 lungo pod and frothed milk and if I want a higher kick, then I put in another espresso pod. Do what you like and do it well with Nespresso!
Excellent quality machine. Perfect size for travelling alone in my campervan. Am still experimenting with flavours at the moment. The ease of use is the main factor although I still prefer a large mug of pour over filtered coffee with breakfast at the moment.
Very easy to use and has made the pain of missing my local coffee shop bearable over the past few months. Can lose it’s temp if poured into a cool cup so either heat up the cup with booked water b4 hand or warm milk
Having considered purchasing a Nespresso machine for a while, particularly after realising how much I was spending on barista-crafted coffee whilst out and about, I decided to go with the smallest of Nespresso’s range: the Essenza Mini.
This machine is compatible with Nespresso’s range of Original Line capsules, of which there is a great selection and variety of flavours from around the world. But does the coffee live up to the same standard as those cups you’d get whilst out and about?
In short: yes. The Essenza Mini has delivered delicious coffee every time I have used it. Having long been a fan of the traditional French press style of coffee, I can safely say that the Essenza Mini delivers a vastly different cup of coffee that’s perfect on its own or as a base for milk-based drinks.
The Essenza Mini is very easy to use and maintain. It quickly heats up and and swiftly prepares either Espresso or Lungo sized coffees; some capsules are better suited to either of the two sizes. Once the capsule has been used, opening the lever dispenses it into the storage facility below, which is easily removed by taking out the front drip tray. If you have a larger mug, you can easily remove the drip tray to accommodate it. At the end of each day, you can remove the drip tray and storage facility to empty out your capsules and rinse and clean them. The machine also has a feature where it can quickly heat up again after being inactive for three minutes, and will automatically switch off after nine minutes.
It’s worth noting that, in order to qualify for Nespresso’s warranty and premium after-sales service, you’ll need to purchase an order of capsules from their website. However, delivery on orders over 100 capsules is free and very swift; I placed an order in the evening and the capsules arrived the following afternoon. When you order capsules online, it’s also worth getting some free recycling bags, which you can place your used capsules in and either arrange to have collected free of charge or take into any Nespresso boutique. After placing your order, you’ll receive three years warranty on your machine as well as the free Machine Repair and Loan Service.
The machine also comes with a small selection of capsules for you to discover which you like. The variety of different coffees will certainly mean I’ll be spending way less on coffee outside of the house, since it’s very cost effective to purchase capsules in advance.
Independent coffee shops will always provide you with a good quality cup of coffee and a great environment to spend time in, but for those times when you’re at home or want to try something different to the usual coffee brewing methods, the compact and easy to use Nespresso Essenza Mini is certainly a great addition to any coffee lover’s kitchen.
Its great coffee machine, with the right coffee blend you get a very good shot with crema. We had to watch a few videos to configure the settings on how to time the coffee shot and how long it should be for it to come out!
Got there in the end. It’s super easy and taste just like coffee shops coffee!
Replacement machine for my old Tassimo. Size is almost half, the quietness is great for a decent pessure machine in such a small package, and it looks a lot more expensive than it is. Would recommend highly. Plus, you get a complimentary sample of nespresso pods – bonus. Enjoy!
Bought as a gift for my daughter, she adores it.
I have the same model, it’s about a year old and works perfectly.
Nespresso is easily better than tassimos offering, but as an entry level coffee machine, this is not a bad offering at all.
If you’re not an idiot and put the water holder on correctly it won’t leak(listen for the click). Coffee pods are the usual expensive one time use things as normal.
As it’s overlooked by many on here, hold either of the two buttons to set the desired fill amount, once set it’ll hit that roughly 90 percent of the time. Also remember it’s mainly an espresso machine, if you want cappuccino or the like, get a milk frother.
I’ve found all the pods have roughly the same taste as a coffee connoisseu
Great little machine works much better with 3rd party capsules than my previous machine.
A single star taken off as the model I was shipped had obviously been returned by a previous customer. None of the usual packing or protection in the obviously reseated box and the unit has multiple small marks.
The unit is black and they are not noticeable at distance but if you had bought a different colour it would have been.
Arrived all in one piece. Easy to follow instructions. Was drinking my first delicious coffee within 10 minutes. Fabulous. I have so missed not being able to go out for my cappacinos.
Easy to use espresso coffee maker brews excellent cup of coffee. Of course, the quality of coffee drink depends on quality of capsules used. This small machine with its small water reservoir is just right for 2 or 3 people. If many people are going to require coffee at the same time, then I would suggest buying a different machine with a larger reservoi
Got my Nespresso very quick next day delivery but it was faulty could not program the settings therefore i returned the item , got a new one next day and i have never looked back great machine , the Coffee taste outstanding well happy
Neat looking machine and easy to use.
The plastic cup holder and pod catcher seem a bit fragile and fiddly but makes very good coffee with Crema which my previous machine didn’t.
very smart in white, looks cool.
my previous Nespresso/Krups is still going 12 years later so i’m hoping this will last as well!
As a caffeine addict I love my Nespresso machine. Easy to use and makes a far nicer coffee than my old Tassimo.
I buy L’or Nespresso capsules in bulk from Amazon. If I want a flavoured coffee I just add a little coffee syrup.

Brilliant coffee machine, great coffee quickly!!, especially first thing in the morning.
It ain’t bad, and can’t complain. But, being honest, if I had to choose again, I’d buy a Lavazza A Modo Mio. The capsules are cheaper, the coffee seems stronger, and it’s quite a bit cheaper. I don’t dislike it, but miss my Lavazza.
Purchased this when our daughter moved into her own apartment and took her Nespresso machine with her.
Everything you want in a very compact machine. Ideal for people like me with limited worktop space. Drip tray lifts off to accommodate larger mugs.
The container for used pods needs emptying more often than on the larger machines and the water tank doesn’t hold quite as much as the full size machines but there have to be compromises if you want a smaller machine. Neither are exactly deal breakers. Warms up much faster than our previous machine.
Works well. The drip tray and used capsule holder are fidely
This is our third Nespresso machine. The first disappeared and mysteriously materialised in our daughter’s kitchen. The second was still in use when we placed this order, but was too big for our needs, so after a little research, we ordered a Krups “Nespresso, Essenza Mini Coffee Machine, which is perfect for making two cups on one filling.
As with all Nespresso machines, when you open the box, even before you take the components out, it screams quality. Everything is beautifully packed, the packaging is high quality gloss black, and there is proper documentation; no need to search the internet. Not only is the documentation supplied, it is printed on heavy gloss paper, with black gloss card covers.
Inside the box is the Nespresso machine and a pack of sixteen assorted coffee capsules. The machine itself is visually very attractive; we chose the white option which enhances our kitchen and is a joy to handle. It’s beautifully and solidly constructed, giving you confidence that it will last for a long time.
On the back of the machine the water container. Lifting the lid disengages two catch, allowing the whole unit to be detached for filling; the hinge is suitably robust to allow the filled unit to be carried by it. Replacing it on its base and closing the lid reengages the catch and keeps it firmly in place.
On the front of the machine is a cup stand/drip tray, behind which is a concealed receptacle for used coffee capsules and a nozzle from which the coffee is delivered. That’s the style covered, how about the substance?
To make coffee; fill the water container and turn on the machine; two buttons on the top one with a symbol for a small cup, the other with a symbol for a large cup, blink for a few seconds; when they light-up, you’re ready to go. Place a cup under the nozzle, pull the lever on the top backward to allow a capsule to be inserted, put in the capsule of choice and push the lever down to close it. Then, press the appropriate button for whichever size cup you want.
If the “large button” doesn’t deliver sufficient water for your taste, you can keep it pressed until you have enough and, when you release it, your setting will be saved for future use.
When the coffee stops flowing, lift the lever and the empty capsule is ejected into the receptacle. You can then, if you wish, insert another capsule and make another cup. The whole process is much like the breach of a rifle, and just as efficient.
The function of this machine is to deliver perfect coffee, and that is just what it does.
Be sure to register your product for a comprehensive three year warrantee and excellent customer service. Unfortunately I couldn’t do this online and had to call the Freephone number. You will need to have your product serial number to hand.
My husband is a nespresso lover and we wanted it for on a boat. Its compact size is great but doesn’t compromise on flavour. Fits perfectly on the sideboard in our compact galley/kitchen and was low enough wattage (1000w) to run off our limited electrics with out blowing the circuit. Would recommend for camper /boat/ caravan.
This is a solidly built tiny footprinted efficient pod coffee machine.
I have friends who bought the larger more expensive machines but I can’t see any advantage.
My wife is happy as it slips inside a unit next to the toaster and doesn’t affect the work top much.
If you like the coffee its a good machine and works well with generic pods which are much less expensive than Nespresso ones.
I was sceptical of capsule coffee machines but actually this machine makes a really good cup of coffee. It’s also discrete taking up very little room in the kitchen. Don’t skimp on cheap coffee though. Now you’ve got something capable of making great coffee don’t put rubbish into it!
This mini is ideal for us as there’s just the two of us. We used to enjoy a milky coffee but our old machine was too big and the rubber gasket tainted the coffee. After not having a machine for some time we saw the Mini and bought one, it was a great decision. We’ Tried a few pods but for the best milky coffee we found the Starbucks Columbia pods to be excellent. Heat a cup 2/3s full in the microwave and add a shot. . We love it.
I’ve been using Aeropress for a few years, and that still makes better coffee. However, it makes a bit of a mess, takes much longer, and the coffee grounds kept going stale.
I bought the same Starbucks Espresso coffee in pod format for this machine (instead of as beans as I do for the aero press) and it’s about 90% as good while being a lot more convenient. And because the pods are each sealed individually, the coffee keeps a lot longer so you don’t end up paying that much more.
What really struck my about the machine is how small and slim it is. The pictures don’t do it justice. It takes virtually no space at all, is quiet, and just works. Wish I’d bought it sooner. I may still use the aero press occasionally for slightly nicer coffee but this will likely be my daily go-to now.
Compact and doesn’t take up much room on side. The water filling tank is fiddly to remove and replace and the space for cups is very short so measure your cup.
I’ve been using it pretty much every day between mid April and the end of June, and it’s a fantastic little device. It’s about the size of a large book (Secret History of Twin Peaks, and about twice as thick), so it can sit out of the way in my office.
The arm on the top feels very sturdy (I think it’s metal rather than plastic). The capsules are a bit weird, for the first couple of months, I was trying to get the capsule to line up vertically with the part that engages and covers it as you close the arm, which was very fiddly. I was taking the drip tray out and trying to push it into perfect 90 degree alignment from above and below it.
I’ve since found you can drop most capsules in then slowly close the arm and it will pull the capsule into alignment. At first it looks like the capsule is pointing up slightly and it’s going to get squished, but do it gently and the capsule gets pulled down so it’s in the same vertical alignment as the machine (90 degrees to the surface it’s on)
I was using knock off plastic ones, which you can’t recycle, but you can get aluminium ones at a pretty reasonable price too, a bit better for the environment since you can get recycling backs from Nespresso and return the used capsules free of charge, which is a great idea!
Great for quick espressos/lungos. There’s a button for each. An espresso cup is fine, but if you want a lungo, just make sure you’ve got a cup that has a 110ml capacity (150ml is fine hand just leaves a little gap). If you’re not sure what cup size you’ve got, a good trick is to fill the cup with water, then pour the water into a measuring beaker). Lungos are basically “stretched” espressos (I.e. a slightly watered down espresso), but you can get lungo capsules which have more coffee in the apparently. I like them when I’m approaching the lethal does of caffeine, or start to be able to see through time!
It takes about 20-30 seconds to warm up from could (press any button to wake it up, the your preferred cup size). It’s not hugely noisy, about on par with a 1st generation Tasimo, May be a bit quieter, but it only runs for a couple of seconds to produce the coffee.
It’s already had more use in 3 months than my Tassimo had in 10 years (220 pods already!). If you like shorter, stronger coffees, with a lot of varieties, this is a great option. Just please get the aluminium pods and recycle!
The machine quickly comes up to operating temperature to deliver an excellent espresso or lungo coffee. The whole process is clean, quick and simple; and with the aluminium capsules now available, a recyclable end product. Is there a downside? Yes! I am drinking too much coffee!
My old Nespresso machine died recently so was looking for a neat replacement in black. This one is small and therefore unobtrusive in our kitchen and produces the expected Nespresso quality drinks. Being a small unit, it needs its water reservoir replenishing frequently but that’s the only downside.
Surprised at how small and delicate looking this was but it’s a great little compact coffee machine that does a great job. Good price and it sits comfortably in our small compact kitchen. Great buy.
The Morphy Richards machine I bought last year direct and on ‘offer’, was a disaster with customer services totally ignoring me. I decided after a lot of umming & ahhing, to plunge for the Nespresso after comparing all reviews against other makes. The centrifugal design incorporated into this machine was the deciding point and I am not in the slightest bit disappointed. Using both Nespresso pods alongside ‘compatible’ pods, I cannot fault this beautiful little machine. It is quiet, very fast to heat up to readiness and dead easy to clean. The 0.6L water tank means you have fresh water every time without having water hanging around if it were a much bigger reservoir.
All in all most certainly a BEST BUY.
I bought this along with the reusable capsules – https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072Q5H75W
It’s compact, great for my small kitchen, easy to use, clean and makes good coffee. It comes with a selection of Nespresso pods for you to try. I like the master origin Ethiopian but it’s a matter of personal preference. I was concerned about waste, hence buying reusable pods but you can request a recycle bag and drop the used pods off at a collection point.
Using the machine is easy, drop the pods in, press the button and go. As I said, it’s compact so large families would need to keep filling the water tank. I live on my own so 1 fill a day is sufficient.
I spent a long time sourcing a coffee I really like and settled on a subscription to Clumsy Goat. The trick to using the reusable pods is a VERY fine grind, pack it into the pod, but not so tight the water can’t get through. You can choose between the 2 settings, lungo or expresso, depending on how you like your coffee. I use 2 pods for a small mug, 1 pod goes through lungo and 1 expresso, this makes the perfect cup for me (I drink it black).
A great machine, I’m happy with my purchase.
I love the machine for its convenience and quickness to make coffee together with nesprosso and lor capsules. The only downside for me is maybe too loud when operating? I’m just happy with the purchase other than that.
I have never used a non Nespresso machine so I can’t compare.
I’m not ultra fussy and critical about coffee machines so I can’t enthuse.
With that in mind, this machine is fine, seems sturdy, works well, easy to use and looks good.
They sell the capsules in Lidl so I bought this one.
Wasn’t performing well at first, re-read the instructions and now its used daily with no problems. Its quiet, efficient and small enough to take on a journey
I purchased this Krups Essenza Mini machine after having a very disappointing experience with another make of machine supposedly capable of taking different types of pod. The Krups Essenza Mini only uses “Nespresso” type pods.
First impressions were… “OMG! It’s TINY!!” This thing is truly very small indeed, and it makes you think it cannot make decent coffee… after all, it looks like a toy…. Not so. The mechanism is firm, and the action of lifting the lever to drop a pod into the top, then closing the lever, takes some pressure. However, you have to realise you are also piercing the pod with three spikes hidden inside the machine when you close the lever down.
On the top, there are just two buttons – one for “Espresso” and one for “Lungo” coffees. They are set to deliver roughly 40ml of espresso and about 130ml of lungo. You can reprogram the buttons for a different volume if you wish, but these volumes seem about right. There is no adjustment available for temperature but I don’t think it is necessary in this case, as it is only going to be used with the Nespresso type pods.
IN USE: I fill a cup half full of milk, put it in the microwave for 80 seconds, switch on the Essenza Mini. By the time the Mini is ready, the milk has heated. Put a Lungo pod in the Mini, stick the cup under (minus the drip tray, as a taller than espresso cup does not fit) and press the lungo button. Out pours a rich, dark liquid into our waiting hot milk. Stir in half a teaspoon of light brown sugar to taste, and you have what is seriously close to a barista cafe latte. More foam? Buy a cheap wand whisk at about 3 quid or one of those electric jug heater/foamers if you don’t use a microwave.
Good points: VERY compact, takes up the smallest of space. Quick to heat up even from cold. Works every time, no crushed pods failures yet. Using espresso pods, the resultant crema is spot on. Easy to clean.
My other half, she loves it when I make her a nice tasty latte.
Bad Points: (These are extremely minor by the way) Water tank holds a pint (0.6litres) of water, it would be nice if it held more, but then the machine would have to be bigger, wouldn’t it!
The pod catching vessel only holds about 5 pods (See above note!)
Taller cups necessitate the removal of the drip tray (See above note!)
In all, I’m very pleased with the lovely tasty liquid this tiny machine makes, I’m even getting used to its diminutive size. Ultimately, I want a machine that makes coffee when you want it, a task this Essenza Mini does very well.
I like it a lot.
This coffee machine is working perfectly fine even though it’s small size. It has a modern design with good materials. However it is not for people who drink a lot of coffee since you will constantly have to empty the used capsules since the machine can stock only ~5 of them
Ignore the description- this item is not the Piano Black version. It’s definitely the Grey one. The pictures are accurate.
This is my second Nespresso machine- the last one lasted 3.5yrs. I hope this lasts the same. I’m a home worker so it gets a lot of use. It’s smaller than the last one which is nice and there’s no ristretto setting but I don’t remember ever using it so it’s not a loss for me.
So far so good. This is the 4th and final Nespresso machine. They seem to be unable to last for more than 10 months. This time I opted for the mini which builds up pressure through the pod rather than slamming straight in. Lets hope this makes it last a full year.
Nespresso have useless customer service and if you opt for a Krups instead, also useless. And their customer service sends you back to Nespresso customer seevice!
On the upside, buying this through Amazon will mean a no quibble return when it conks out!!!
I’ve had all sorts of coffee making equipment over the y4ars but this is the first time I’ve been really happy with the results. The coffee is so easy to make and it’s the best tasting coffee I’ve had. Only had it a month so can’t comment on durability but it looks well made and robust.
As the previous Nespresso machine, also this little one result to be the perfect solution to have your good coffee for breakfast. (if in your area the water have mid-high value of calcium, keep the machine clean with Nespresso decalcium treatment to avoid problem with the pump and internal water circuits).
Sleek design. Makes great coffee. No fuss no mess. Not to keen on some of the Nespresso capsules but great getting a trail box so you can find your favourites.
For convenient, compact and excellent value coffee machine. The pods are now widely available from multiple stores, the best tasting and value we have found is at Costco the Dualit pods 12 for a eighty pods. I read previous reviews stating the machine is noisy, it could be deemed to be, as the pump does its thing but not overly and it is quite quick. It comes out a good hot temperature and I like the way you can program how much water you would like thus allowing room for milk if you prefer, or strength of your coffea. All in all very pleased, highly recommended.
Super simple to setup and operate. Doesn’t take much space and one of the cheaper options for a nespresso machine if you don’t need all the bells and whistles. I have a few Krups machines at home and they’re all solidly built. This little machine is great for the morning shot of coffee, and if you’re after milk just buy the frother separately. Can’t fault it.
Not one downside for me. Easy quick excellent coffee every time.
Look after it and it will look after you. I absolutely love it.
This machine is brilliant in every respect. It is so compact, takes up very little space and looks classy.
It is so easy to operate,is very quiet and speedy and produces an excellent cup of hot coffee.
The complimentary box of coffees is an excellent way of tasting numerous varieties.
I am delighted with this good value appliance.
Bought for office use tp see how we got on before investing in a higher spec more robust machine – probably does 20 cups a day – 2 months in still going strong
I split my time between two houses, a city-centre flat and my main house. In my flat space is cramped and this little machine gives me fantastic espresso every morning and I cannot distinguish it from my larger (and more expensive) main machine.
It’s so small we even take it camping with us whenever we go somewhere with an electrical hook-up. No more instant coffee for me!
This is a very simple machine to use. Clear instructions. Please note however that it does only take small cups or mugs, not standard. To take standard mugs the stand can be removed but then drips are not caught and run over counter (and it does drip). The measurements shown for mug size assume the stand (drip tray) is removed. Lidl & Aldi Pods are great taste and value for money especially the 9s & 10s strength
Excellent product. Especially like the separate ‘frother’ ,special ‘cappuccino’ pods not required.as in other brands.
Good coffee and I love the colour. It is a smaller version that the one I had before so needs watering and emptying of pods more often – but it takes up less space on the worktop – so great!
Perfect gift. Partner very happy. Also purchased the milk frother.
I love this product. Its so compact and makes great coffee. I don’t use the Nespresso pods, I use M&S – the purple one. Lovely.
I’ve used this now for a few weeks to replace my 10 year old Jura bean to cup machine and it is a good little thing, with a small foot print and does pretty much what you would expect. I certainly prefer the coffee to that of the Tassimo variants and have settled for Cosi and Livanto bought directly from the Nespresso store as they are half the price than Amazon. My only criticism is the cup stand is stupidly small and my cup kept falling off, however with the aid of a vernier, Autodesk Inventor and a 3D printing machine it is now perfect.
