What’s the difference between the Smart Outdoor Camera and the Smart Outdoor Camera with Siren?

The Smart Outdoor Camera with Siren comes with an alarm – a built-in Outdoor Siren, whereas the Smart Outdoor Camera does not. All the other features of the Outdoor Camera with Siren are included.

How does the surveillance work?

The Outdoor Camera is a highly effective security camera. It keeps a close eye on the outside of your home, both during the day and at night thanks to its 15 metres infrared night vision and its 100° field of view.

How does the Outdoor Camera’s built-in Siren work?

When a person or vehicle enters your property/home, you immediately receive an alert and video on your smartphone. If it’s an intruder, you can scare them away by triggering your security Camera’s alarm through the Netatmo app.

What are the smart notifications sent by the Smart Outdoor Camera?

Infrared night vision, person detected, Car detected, Animal detected, Movement detected, Camera connected, Camera disconnected, Surveillance suspended, Surveillance resumed

Can I customise the alerts of the Camera?

Yes, in the app’s menu for the Netatmo security Camera, you can choose if you want the Camera to:

Record a Full HD video and send an alert

Only record a Full HD video

Do nothing, and ignore the event

Easy to install (if you have an existing outside light for electrical connection). Picture quality good and options for capture work well. One off price. No monthly charge

Good relatively inexpensive solution considering it does not need servers or subscriptions. The adjustable flood light a nice touch. The viewing (wide) angle & monitoring perimeter setting could have been better but still works for me (I have installed a camera at each corner). There must be a reason for the lack of face recognition (available on the indoor camera) but it would have been a nice to have.
I noticed that not all event are captured and some video clips are slightly truncated (I cannot figure out why although it is fairly rare to have an event not recorded).

I had to put a WiFi range extender on the insider of wall very close to where the camera was mounted.
Easy installation, easy to move the unit to adjust picture area.
Good picture quality and movement sensor responds well. The unit has a built in movement activated light so is very good on the steps leading up to front doo

I recommend this – it is easy to use. Pictures much clearer than my previous camera of the same pixels. Night light on motion detection is really good, bright but not overly so – useful when coming home. Ability to save images without subscription is a bonus.

Easy install to existing wiring. Very easy set up with HomeKit. Remote notifications on iPhone, iWatch and Apple TV work perfect. Outside speaker very clear too for two way comms. As a bonus, no subscription required to store and review footage as stored locally on supplied micro data card.

Have bought 5 so far and returned 2. I should have returned 3 as a 1/3 had a crack in it but it is fine. Absolutely fine from Amazon as they have no quibble returns, but I wouldn’t buy from anywhere with no returns policy.

The problems were SD card related. Seems to be very common for these cameras.

When they do work they are amazing and seem very reliable.

Firstly, I’d recommend temporarily wiring the camera so you can set it up indoors, on a convenient desk, and near a Wi-Fi router that uses different SSID for 2.4 and 5 ghz signals (Netatmo only works on 2.4). Temporarily suppress other Wifi repeaters around the house. When running the setup from you phone app remember to use that same 2.4 SSID.
Once you get it working then install it where it’s needed. Obviously this needs to be in range of a Wi-Fi signal!
Secondly, most of the problems I’ve experienced have involved the SD card. Get good ones and reformat them regularly

I found the camera connected to my BT internet with no difficulty. Pictures are good although a little yellow on my phone. Very good at identifying and marking separately the humans, the animals, and the vehicles that it sees. It recorded clips of deer, foxes and a hedgehog, correctly marking them all as animals. I have set it up so that it only alerts me when a human comes into the detection zone, but records animals at night as well. So I can see the wildlife without being annoyed by false alerts. Many recording options, none of which need a subscription, unless your Dropbox useage already pushes you into the subscription area.

After an extensive research I ended up getting this product. I am very happy with it. Easy to install, as a replacement of any outdoor light fitting. The setup process was seamless and it worked straight away. The notification system is working well, and I like the integration with Apple HomeKit. No need of a monthly subscription and overall an excellent product that I would recommend highly. I ended up getting the Smart Ring Bell and another one of those for the garage area… Great produc

Great smart Camera to replace any outdoor light you have!

It’s not designed as a porch light or video doorbell but it pretty much does the same job and better than the alternatives. The motion detection is superb, you can set it to notify you if it sees people, cars, animals, or general motion, but you can also set those things individually to off. It will still record them but not bother you with a notification. It’s super easy to share recordings to your photoroll, and the integration with Homekit is very good too.

The floodlight is dimmable and can be set to only operate in the dark when motion is detected, which makes it a reliable porch light. The camera records in IR at night so it doesn’t matter how bright you have the light set. Smart lights on Homekit have slightly dodgy geo-location detection so the Phillips Hue porch light I replaced with this did not always work when I came home. This works 100%, plus it notifies me on my Apple Watch almost the exact second it sees me approaching the house.

A feature I wasn’t expecting was a built in microphone, so it records audio too. It has a pretty good field of view and was easy enough to install. It would’ve been nice if Netatmo had included a cut-out in the plastic cover for running surface mounted power to it neatly, but I managed to drill and saw my own for a neat finish. It’s tough plastic though.

I went fo this rather than their video doorbell because it is cheaper, easier to install (no bell wire or chime required) and includes a light. If Netatmo were smart, they’d work out that pairing a wifi bell-push with this item would make a better video doorbell/porch light solution than their existing video doorbell and a separate porch light.

It has local storage for recordings, so even if your internet is out of action it will still record. A power cut is its only vulnerability.

Fairly easy to install and set up. Any subsequent ones will be really easy.
I already had an account and the app for my doorbell and adding the camera was no problem at all.
I set the camera to record animals and discovered that badgers visit my garden at night. Wonderful!
My only niggle is that setting an alert area doesn’t work. I still get alerts and recordings from areas well away from the target area.

It’s working and doing what I want. Records when motion detected – But includes a few seconds before the sensor triggered.

I bought four of these cameras for placing around the outside of my home, as yet have only set up two but overall reasonably happy with how things are working.
Set up was straightforward but you will need a pretty robust Wi-Fi signal around your house.
If you have weak signal inside there no chance its working when you get outside.
I use 3 EERO pro’s to provide my mesh Wi-Fi signal and suspect I will have to purchase maybe one more to increase the Wi-Fi signal.
I bought these cameras because I was sick of subscription fees and poor performance, I also wanted them to link to Apple HomeKit.
So far so good. may add another review when the other camera are installed and had more time to play with all the features of HomeKit has to offer.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI was bought this doorbell for Christmas by the other half after talking about it for about a year after it was unveiled.

I didn’t have a doorbell at all prior to this so was starting from scratch. I bought a chime with built in transformer listed as compatible on the Netatmo support page and connected this to a standard plug which is plugged into a socket.
I then ran the cable from the chime to the doorbell.

Set up was painful as the doorbell was refusing to connect however after 5 hours of trying it eventually worked. No idea what made it work. It just did.

Once working it stopped after 15 minutes. I followed the instructions and reset it and went through the rigmarole of it refusing to connect again (I disabled all but the main 2.4ghz network but this made no difference). Eventually Netatmo support told me to connect it using USB and try to set it up whilst powered through USB which worked!

Then after 15 minutes it stopped working again! Different issues each time. On one occasion it was that it worked through the Home app but not in the Netatmo app and was not recording. The next time it was nothing working.

I went back to Netatmo support and they remotely restarted it and hey presto – it’s working fine.

    So onto the verdict:

I have a Netatmo presence which detects and differentiates between people, vehicles and animals and records and detects from incredible distances which is amazing!

The doorbell however only detects and records people and they have to be very close to the camera to detect them (it won’t detect or record people walking past on the street) so it’s certainly no substitute for a CCTV camera.

The quality of the actual doorbell is very good however video quality leaves a lot to be desired. Compared to other doorbells and even Netatmo’s own other products the quality is poor. The field of view vertically is very good. It shows the very narrow lip on the roof above and the floor below however horizontally the field of view is pretty poor. I’m consistently only getting a view of the shoulders of people at the door.

I’ve got it linked up to HomeKit so my HomePods chime when someone rings the doorbell and when it detects motion the lights at the front of the house go on.

You could easily power the doorbell using a usb cable and then it will wirelessly chime on HomePods and phones negating the need for a chime.

I’ve also got a network hard drive which I am using to back up CCTV to through WI-FI which saves each motion detection (including a period after) as an MP4 video as well as on the micro SD card on the doorbell which saves the video encrypted and can only be accessed through the Netatmo security app. There is however no pre-record and the motion detection is quite slow so it generally started recording a few seconds after someone approaches the door.

Overall. The doorbell is by no means perfect however the lack of subscription fee unlike other video doorbells, the ability to back up to an FTP server and the HomeKit compatibility (as well as the promised HomeKit secure video compatibility) mean the positives of this outweigh the negatives and I would say this is the best Video Doorbell available today.

Best Video Doorbell Available but Needs Some Improveme

Very good CCTV camera that doesn’t require ongoing monthly storage payments. Once you get this camera set up correctly with good WiFi connected it is a really high quality camera. I have recently bought a second one to capture a different angle of my drive. The only minor downside is the sd card is only 8gb so will only hold a couple days footage before it gets full and stops working due to insufficient storage capacity. I would definitely recommend buying a 32gb micro sd card. Since doing so, I’ve never had any problems with storage. It is very good at detecting animals, people, cars etc and each of these can be turned off if for example you only want to be notified when the camera detects motion from people. There is a lot of other personalised features such as being able to turn the camera light on or off with motion, being able to select a section of the camera view that you want to detect motion. For example this is really handy for adjusting so it doesn’t go off when neighbours leave the house. Also detects sound so footage can be watched back with clear audio. Pretty good camera if you ask me and doesn’t require ongoing payments.

Replaced this for an existing normal flood light, setting up was fairly easy all done via the app, the live streams can be un-pixelated sometimes although still okay, however once it’s recording something or someone the downloadable version is always perfect full 1080p HD quality. Clips are saved on the app or cloud I think, Sound is also very easily picked up even from a distance not muffled or anything it’s quite impressive, You have activity zones which only allow the camera to alert you and record within your chosen Area, the light is very bright lights up my full drive no problem you can also change the intensity of the light stronger or dimmer. Notifications when someone comes into contact with the device is around 2-3 seconds so you’re alerted rather fast, it can also connect with Amazon echos as security monitors for you’re home, asking Alexa to show you will display a live feed, this lasts for random periods of time not sure why, sometimes well over a few hrs others 20 minutes but you can always ask Alexa to show you again and it’ll pop back up. The Delay with the echos is slower around 6 seconds from someone triggering it, might not sound long but I managed to get from my car and into the back door to scare my Mrs as she was casually watching me close my boot. The Picture quality on the echos is always spot on however always in high detail unlike the phones slightly downgraded look on live stream. You can manually turn on and off the light via the app or set auto for people, cars, pets or random things or tune for what you want to be notified about, the camera can only be seen close up anyone further away wouldn’t even know it’s a camera which explains the weird things I spot when people don’t realise. The Picture angle of the camera is okay if it’s pointed precisely where you want it it’s not wide angled like some other cctv systems but it covers a good field of view. The light can also be turned left, right up and down Before locking into into position.

    – video quality is average, it’s like they push heavy compression on the sensor
    – always start recording late, I only see the person back leaving most of the time ( that’s really frustrating )

The Netatmo ecosystem offers a compelling option in the home security arena. I find facial detection is quite good and has improved in the 4 years I’ve used their security of cameras. Style wise, not the best and memory cards wear out so all facial data is lost. Data is stored locally and can be stored in the cloud.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI installed this is 15 minutes, added it to the app and optimised the settings in another 15 minutes. I am very happy with this unit after 1 month of use. Great image quality, very responsive and no subscription fees. The talkback near instant with great voice quality. It comes with a backplate and a 25 degree mounting plate to suit most mounting requirements. Envy of neighbours who keep asking what it is, how much, where from; especially as there’s NO monthly SUBSCRIPTION costs. They spent 1,000s on CCTV systems that aren’t portable.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now. It picks up movement, correctly distinguishing between vehicles, animals and people. The only time I get false alerts is when there is dappled sunlight on the side of the car – it thinks it is a person or animal. Links nicely to my Dropbox folder to save the images.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersOk, so I’ve got several other Netatmo cameras and currently use them with iOS devices, so not commenting from an android perspective. Waited months for this doorbell to come to market and tentatively ordered within a week of it coming out. I was worried as like most new products I was expecting issues. Which I got.

I’m only going to talk about my chime setup, so yours may vary – there are so many different combos. Mine was an 8v 1A transformer which according to Netatmo should have been enough power, but it wasn’t. I ended up having to buy a 12v 2A transformer and that did the trick. Next was getting the Netatmo power regulator wired in correctly. My chime set up wasn’t described in their web site, so after hours of trial and error I had to get in touch with their support.

Now this is where I’ve got my biggest gripe, took about a week for them to respond, after I’d sent though the request and photos of my setup. This is no way to run a support business. That said, the details they provided confirmed how to setup the power regulator and to do a full reset. Any wiring changes mean you have to fully reset via usb power and the reset button. I ended up having to reset twice before the HomeKit setup finally worked. This was really frustrating as it kept failing. However once setup, their app and HomeKit work well together with each bringing their own config/settings/options. There’s absolutely no lag when talking with people and the notifications to your devices are within 1-2 seconds of the bell being pushed. Picture quality in day and night is excellent.

Like all Netatmo products, their wifi signal strength is abysmal and the doorbell is no different. So make sure you’ve got good wifi strength. My phone showed 4 bars and the bell only shows two. If you’re running wifi that has 2.4 and 5Ghz on the same SSID, I’d highly recommend you create a second SSID purely for the bell (or other Netatmo products) as it will help with the setup. Why in this day and age they can’t support 5Ghz is beyond me.

One thing I’ll say about Netatmo products is that they do keep their firmware updated regularly and this one will be no exception with some additional features coming soon.

I do like the no subscription premise that Netatmo have. I can testify that their cameras do work as we got burgled, handed over the footage to the police and it helped to convict the burglar.

I really struggled on giving this a 3 or 4 star, but plumped for 4 as their support did get me sorted out, eventually, and once setup, it does work very well.

Managed to get camera working, through Apple Home kit, with no issues. However to setup detection zones etc, you need to use Netatmo App / Web Interface – these always reported “Camera not connected”, you recieve motion alerts etc, and thumb nails in the Netatmo App, but no video. You can see Live video via Home Kit. After much googling etc, found that if using a Billion Router you need to changes: Nat Settings: NAT >> ALG >> IPsec (disable this). After Rebooting router, live video works in the Netatmo App. So what was going to be a 2 star review, I’ll not give it 4 stars for now…

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOttimo prodotto della linea Netatmo.

Got two of these, I like that they work with Apple home kit. In the year I’ve had them I’ve had a few issues, needed to replace the memory chip, which was simple to do with the instructions. I’ve needed to upgrade my WiFi because they require a good signal to work best which isn’t easy when they’re on the other side of a brick wall. Bought an Eero system with multiple access points and they’ve been no trouble since. Apple Home improves the alerting over the Netatamo software in that it will alert you only when you’re out, if you use the Netatamo alerts then it bombards you while you’re outside gardening or washing the car 🙂

Fiddly to put up but fairly straight, best to remove the u-bracket from the camera when bolting everything together. Setup is straight forward if you have good Wi-Fi signal. Would help if during setup there was a live signal checker so you don’t have to ages to see the updated signal level.

I would say the casual criminals are starting to recognise this camera as a chap came to the door, looked at the light for 5 seconds and turned around and walked off, didn’t knock or anything, I suspect he was going to try and snap the lock to break-in. The Police now have a clear video of this chap.

Like the Person/Animal/Car detection and alerts.
    Good quality video.
Ease of use and quality of the IU/Software.

    Con’s:
Slightly tricky to fix to the wall, given the shortness of my existing wiring.
I felt that I needed to seal the back with “Gorilla 8090001, Clear 100 Percent Silicone Sealant Caulk” as there was a gap due to the uneven brick-work and I was concerned that my existing wiring was exposed to the elements.

I’ve been looking for an outdoor camera for a while, the Netatmo outdoor camera fits the bill especially as it was on offer at the time. It’s not just a outdoor camera it’s also LED light that you can switch on and off as well dim through their app or through Apple’s HomeKit, it can also be set to turn on automatically if the camera detects motion, it can tell the difference between animals, people or cars, and if like myself you live over looking a main road you can even turn of the motion sensor for detecting cars. I found the Netatmo camera easy to set up (I would recommend setting it up first indoors before fixing it to the wall outside) and also buy some outdoor silicone to seal it from the weather. I’m thinking of purchasing a second one to put at the bottom of my garden if my Wi-Fi will reach, to keep an eye on my cars.

I have been looking for an outdoor security camera for a while but many of them are subscription only. I am not paying just so they can store my video/images. Then my outdoor PIR light finally gave up the ghost so I found this. Perfect, light and camera in one.
The light is bright enough to light up my whole back garden but not so bright that it spills into neighbors gardens.
The camera is excellent. It comes with a 16gb SD card and will upload footage to your Dropbox account for off camera security in case the camera is tampered with. The night vision is unbelievably good, again, I can see my whole back garden. The device can easily recognise the difference between car, human, animal and you can set individual alerts/recordings for each. You can have up to 4 alert zones, which is plenty.
The camera was simple to connect to my WiFi and Dropbox and didn’t take long to fix to my wall. I used the existing wiring from my old light.
The one thing that is fiddly, and this is picky. Is the screw to fix the camera to the mount is in a tricky sport and I kept dropping the screw eventually losing it. Netatmo customer service was brilliant and sent me out a free replacement. So top tip in securing the cam to the mount, is undo the camera bracket completely using the 2 small allen screws either side and remove it. Then fix the bracket to the mount before fixing the camera back to the bracket.

I would definitely buy this product again and highly recommend it.

Was delivered quickly. Bought it for front of house but realised on opening that my bungalow wall was too small for fitting ( needs 10-14 ft ), so fitted on back wall of bungalow looking down the garden. Good infrared provides decent picture and light comes on automatically. I like the fact that I can get it to not notify me about animals just humans.
    Really pleased.
Only gripe I have is that using it in back garden it constantly videos me during day ( though at least I can switch audible reminder off) .
Barely up for 3 months and so card problem costing me 20

This was purchased due to its all-in-one design and subscription-free nature.

There are those that will whinge that they don’t want to pay for DropBox or an FTP server; these people should buy a ring or a nest camera if they don’t want to sort their own storage. Failing that you can locally install a 32GB card in the camera that should be good for around a week. Thieves would have to physically rip the camera off the wall or have prior knowledge of the card location to see you off there.

Personally I think the option to set up your own storage is great; I use FTP to my NAS and also then get to make use of a raft of other benefits having a NAS offers.

The algorithms that identify whether a person, animal or vehicle has been seen are usually very reliable, they’re not going to be bulletproof because a computer is recognising real-life events. That being said, I wouldn’t want to go to dinner with the bloke who wrote them!

The spotlight is great, very bright but also dimmable, and you can set it to only come on for certain events (e.g. a person or a vehicle but not every bloody cat that wanders past).

The picture quality is also good. It claims 1080P and I see no reason to dispute this having reviewed old footage. It does suffer a little a night, but it’s not loads, and show me a camera (that doesn’t cost thousands) that doesn’t suffer in poor lighting conditions.

I have never had any reliability issues to date and I’ve had my cameras (I have 5 of them, so pretty well tested) over a year. Fitting was very easy – those who’ve complained obviously have trouble with putting 2 screws into masonry, a couple more in the bracket to hold the device in place and the usual live, neutral and earth.

As for lag and WiFi disconnects, I’ve never experienced any of those symptoms and I live in a busy neighbourhood with plenty of other networks around to cause noise. I can only assume those who have need to either change their WiFi channel or upgrade their router.

The app is both good and reliable, the one thing that’s often overlooked is the extra data you’ll use for push notifications. If your camera is in a high-traffic area and you’ll be getting notified of each sighting, it’s not necessarily a bad thing (I’d still want to know), but it will eat more of your phone’s data plan. If you’ve got more than 1-2GB per month then you’ll probably be fine, including your normal usage, but clearly everyone is different. I’d say my Netatmo notifications use circa 300-500MB of my data a month, dependant of what’s going on around my house. That’s also with 5 cameras bear in mind.

In summary a great, customisable, all-in-one camera & light without the extra subscription fees that come attached to some other manufacturers products.

Designed to replace an existing security flood light.

Has no monthly or annual subscription requirement. You can store via Dropbox for free.

Can detect and distinguish between people, animals and cars. It is good fun seeing what wildlife visitors you have overnight. We have foxes and badgers!

They also feature a built in SD card, so if your Wi-Fi drops, they continue to record and will then back up as soon as Wi-Fi reinstates.

Have two of these, one front and one back.

Only mini criticisms are the lack of programmable schedule and, or geo-location use (e.g turn camera on when you leave property).

These cameras require 2.4ghz Wi-Fi frequency, so when installing (or reconnecting) and therefore you may need to temporarily disable any 5ghz frequency from your Wi-Fi. This can be done easily via your router admin settings.

We installed the Netatmo camera/light to protect the back of our house and were relieved to find that it managed to pick up the wifi signal as it’s about 40 metres from the hub in the living room. It’s quite unobtrusive and worked well for the first few days but completely stopped working following heavy rain. We found that water had entered the casing and contacted the seller. They immediately sent a replacement which has worked well for the past few months, surviving many downpours since then! I particularly like the choice of motion settings which I can set to alert me to cars, people, animals or “other motions” (birds, leaves blowing around, etc.) Good product, very easy to control via the app and great service!

My porch light failed recently and I always wanted a smart home security camera installed so this made sense. No ongoing subscription/cloud storage fees (like other well known brands) was the key reason I went for this Netatmo camera. It was a doddle to install – especially as in my case I already had mains power given the existing porch light – and works perfectly. I can set notifications for cars, people, and disable animals for instance – but it records everything so you can always view it via your phone or online via a browser. Just waiting for their doorbell and external siren but I’m ready to get all in with the Netatmo eco-system.

Great product. It’s exactly what I was looking for. The night vision is great but my only comment is that when the automatic light comes on the night vision turns itself off and the images can then be very poor at night (probably dependant on where the light is placed).

The plus side are numerous. Looks very stylish, excellent app, fantastic recognition between animals, humans and cars. In addition no subscription fee.

The integration with Dropbox is a bonus with automatic upload.

I’ve got mine connected to Google home and can request the feed straight to my tv via Chromecast. Very simple.

The install is very simple, I simply removed the old external light and put this on. My wall is not flat (rough granite) so I did have a large gap that I simply filled in.

Mine is placed about 7ft up and the downside to this is the light is very bright on full and can dazzle you, worth it being higher. I simply wanted the camera to be plug and play from the previous light fitting so willing to live with this.

Overall very happy, and would recommend. I previously bought a high level alternative well known internet based one but this has been head and shoulders better. As with most there is a lag on the live view. In my case it’s about 7 seconds.

    Reliable, robust and secure.

I’ve had 2 of these cameras, front and rear of house, for 2 and a half years, they are very solid, and heavy. I’ve had a few of issues/frustrations in that time but would re-purchase if they went kaput completely, even with my 4* review, as I’ll discuss. Frustrations have mainly been due to wifi – not the fault of the cameras. Aside from wifi, the problem I had with my front camera (it stopped recording) turned out to be the memory card giving up. This took a little while to work out – turning on off on off etc, troubleshooting over the net. The card was 8GB when I removed it (easily done) – it had become defective due to use. I live on a busy street. I bought a 32GB card, applied the recommended super lube (tracked down in the states) and refitted, it worked again immediately.

I think I’m on to my 3rd 32GB card for this busy camera – I don’t find that an issue – it’s still cheaper than being bound to a monthly cost. I don’t need to link with Dropbox (free version) to store video like I did initially. The 32GB card easily stores a week’s worth of video for me to scroll through on the App. I deleted Dropbox. This front camera is reliable due to a strong my wifi signal, and beside the main router. I have captured all sorts outside, video of my car being ransacked, my security light making someone think twice from trying my car door handle, someone taking a pee at my front door (unbelievable I know), these incidents being at night and difficult to identify people due to the hoody uniforms and grainy picture quality – you only really get an idea of what is going on with the night vision, a policeman told me you would need to spend 1000s to get decent night vision. I’m sure some night video content is not captured, and sometimes there is lag, so a video does not fully capture a person’s journey in/out of shot. To be fair, these are instances outside of my garden, but has been frustrating at times, e.g. camera might capture someone get out of a car on the street, but does not capture them later when leaving. In daylight I captured someone pinching a child car seat that I’d left at my front door to dry in the sun after washing. I took a screenshot of the person (great daytime quality when people are close to camera) and went door-to-door with a pic to find the person as the police were not helpful. I found the culprit and got my seat back.

My rear camera is hit and miss due to my wifi. I installed additional boosters for wifi but these are still hit and miss at the rear of my property. I do have spells of wondering what I’m missing, sometimes I’ll get motion updates, sometimes not. Most frustrating when I have walked in front of the camera and there is nothing captured, or a week without an update. This is not the fault of the camera – I have Virgin Broadband for info, 2x boosters are Belkin. I have had to re-scan the system’s barcode for this camera the most to re-link it to the internet, not ideal going up a ladder. I still use the 8GB memory card in this camera, I have had zero problems with that card – although it is not kept too busy, even when things appear to be fully working. Most frustrating with this rear camera and the wifi problem is that my live stream is generally most likely not working – my front camera is however very reliable for live streaming. I have noticed the rear camera functions better when the kids are not using Netflix etc. So ultimately the camera can’t be blamed for another providers hit and miss wifi signals!

Camera install is easy, I don’t do anything electrical, can’t change a plug for instance, yet installing the cameras was easy – I just followed the YouTube video, I am a confident DIYer though. I already have other fllodlights so I keep the floodlight feature turned off on my cameras so can’t comment on that. The sound feature is good – my driveway is 12 metres and you can just make out bits of conversation if cars are not driving past at the same time, in the immediate area of the camera the sound is perfect, and has been very useful. The App is great, I have the cameras set to pick up people, rather than cars/animals/motion, just to save video space. I find myself scrolling through the App across the day, easy to use, and this has improved over time also with updates. Best of all there are no monthly fees, I’d purchase again.
