For the price, they have a surprisingly good IR light, range and picture quality even in darkness. My biggest complaint is the viewing angle. When looking through them, it seems as if you are much closer to the object due to the narrow viewing angle. This makes them very difficult to use indoors but suitable for outdoors. I would also like to be able to turn down the brightness of the screen so it affects your pupils less and creates less light on your face for others to see.

I live in a rural area very little ambient light first night off my deck I was looking about 150 yards out across a field and clear as day I could see a mouse on a log was so surprised I bought these for my property up northern minnesota due to bear issues I’m wondering if I really want to see what’s out there. But that being said great product easy to setup and learn no complaints except maybe a would prefer a auto focus but the manual works fine

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI saw many YouTube videos before committing to this product. Unlike the Nightowl, there are no design faults that you have deal with and make allowance for. The hood, framing the vision field, seals well against the face preventing entry of stray light.
There is no problem using NiMH batteries and a charge indicator is always visible on the screen
It allows viewing from as close as a few meters and the image is clear and distinct.
I would recommend this product to anyone fence sitting over another competitor.

Brilliant product. Came a day early. My only issue is How do you attach the strap? As you can see from the pics, there’s no clip. Other than that, no problems.

    Good piece of kit.

Bought as a treat for myself.
Never had night vision goggles before but I had spare money and price was reduced.
    Good enough for home use.
No good for war use as the infrared night vision can be seen by other night vision
So no good if considering buying for Ukraine it does say that on the company’s website page.
It’s good enough for what I wanted it fo

For the price it’s an amazing bit of kit. I have bought 2 different night vision goggles but they were made in china and were rubbish so sent them back at great expense to me.
So don’t be fooled by the low prices of these made in china it’s like a lucky dip what you get I bought one and half the parts were missing it’s obviously been set back before they tried to parm it of to me

A very bizarre feeling to begin with but once you get used to them they are great quality although the zoom is digital so don’t expect anything like a good pair of binoculars. They do take a lot of batteries so be prepared for this!

The screen is very bright, so if you are a glasses where and trying to go ‘covert’ this will light you up like a Christmas tree and you’ll end up with freaky ghost face just like looking at a mobile phone in the dark.
Will work through glass too if you turn the IR off which is a nice touch if you are out and about in the car looking at ‘wildlife’ or even the local dogging spots.

Overall decent quality, it should be for the price though – the night vision is great, the zoom is average but as a first introduction into night vision they are pretty good.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersi was thinking of adding a video or two but to be honest, that is well covered already…i have tried a couple of night vision monoculars in the past and have to say the quality on these is far better, the ‘ambient light’ with no IR is also much better, in fact it is probably better than some i have seen in the past with full IR on.
while i understand when people have said a built in rechargeable battery would be a welcome addition i feel the removeable battery pack is the better option (built in rechargeables have a habit of ‘dying’ rapidly if not charged/discharged regularly)
now the one draw back and for most it will not be a ‘biggy’ and not a great problem for me but it is there, it is for spectacle wearers who, like me, prefer large lens glasses…i am due an eye test and new glasses so will choose my frames with care, everything still works find and it is easy to find a ‘sweet spot’ although if using for hunting the glare from the screen will light some of your face up like blackpool illuminations to any animals, i did read a review where the owner turned the screen brightness to it’s lowest setting, i might try that soon.
i would not be put off by this, it is a minor thing that i am sure we, as spectacle wearers, can overcome and it is not a fault with the item, for the price these offer a very good image which imho is superior to others i have tried although obviously not as good as much more expensive equipment and for ‘back garden’ spotting or for a camping trip etc they will certainly do the job.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI received these and briefly tried them out during the day where they seemed to focus OK. I waited until dark and found they couldn’t focus and only had a little more than a half a turn from stop to stop on the focus wheel. I was about to package them for return, but first examined it and could clearly see that there was room for more travel on the focus wheel. I just put some firm force on the wheel and it broke free to continue turning for 2.5 full turns. It appears that for daytime viewing with the cap in place (with the small aperture), the focus range is smaller and there is an indent on the focus wheel. Night viewing requires focus past this indent. It seems that my indent was quite stiff at first and took more effort than expected at first. After repeated travel through this indent point it now moves smoothly while still providing a stop point. This could be avoided by quality checks, where this travel is ensured to be free and also a better explanation in the manual under the focus wheel description.
So after that was taken care of, I’m actually really impressed. These work pretty good.
One concern that I had that nobody seemed to ask or report on was the visibility of the IR light. The IR light that it emits is invisible when you are looking out into the illuminated view, however when you look directly into the light it is a soft red glow but it’s not really relevant at all. There are 7 levels of IR illumination power. At level 1 you have to be holding it in your hand to see it. At level 7 it is still just a soft, not obvious, red glow that is not easily seen beyond 10 yards. I walked out about 70 yards then walked back (in the dark) only having an idea of where the light was and looking hard for it and didn’t find it until at 20 yards. I backed up until i couldn’t see it any longer at about 30 yards. This was out on my archery range so those distances are accurate.
The IR power at level 1 is good for seeing objects clearly out to 30-40 yards. Using a higher power will overexpose and objects become washed out. Level 7 seemed too much even out at 70 yards. I’ll have to go out to another field to test it out to 200 yards.
So if you use the correct IR illumination level I would say that there is no way the red glow will be an issue at all. For animals that are close in, use a low power setting and they won’t see it and long range animals won’t see the high power IR setting either.
The viewfinder has a rubber shield that forms to your face. If you wear glasses, this rubber shield sorta sucks, but it is removable, however with it removed the screen backlight (even on low) will reflect on your face which can be seen (it really spooked my horses). As I generally wear contacts this won’t be problem for me, but it might for others.
I just went out and got some good pictures of my horses at about 50 yards at IR level 1 and am very impressed, however when trying to upload these pics to my computer, it won’t recognize the drive. This may be my PC fault though as this is an old one in my workshop. I’ll troubleshoot this later as I’ve already spent way to much time on this review.
So yeah, once I got the focus issue figured out, I’m pretty happy with these.
Edit; Added photo of horse at about 50 yards on a dark moonless night. But he is a light grey horse. I’ll go up the road next to find a black horse in the dark and see how that works.
Even a newer PC doesn’t show the SD card as a drive when connecting directly to the NV unit. The SD card can still be read by removing it and reading it directly.

Great, after solving the focus issue.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis product is easy to use and works great for seeing far in daylight or at night.
However, the vision field is set to view a pretty significant distance. You are unable to view at least 20 feet in front of you. This is only for far distance use. Also, product doesn’t capture well if there is a screen or window in between the vision field. I bought this for fun to just look around at night and overall it meets expectations.

I did like these as a item to use for recreational or hunting purposes. However, they would not suffice for say security or investigative purposes. The NV quality became deteriorated the more you zoom.

Also the use of AA batteries to power this does not fall under what I would call practicality. It would be wiser to devise a type of rechargeable quality battery.

Overall the functions like I say are good quality for common usages. Not exactly recommended entirely for professional use.

I have been putting off this review because I wanted to make a video showing how well it works. Well, I keep procrastinating, so I figured I better at least get on here and give my 2 cents. I don’t really need these. I don’t hunt and I really have no reason to own a set. I do fish at night, so maybe they will be fun to take out and play with. I can definitely see taking them out if I am on a boat at night. Anyway, I tried them out a few times now and they work very well. I was surprised at just how well they worked actually. I am a former soldier and we used some of the best night vision devices made, and while these are certainly not as good as those, I assure you that they are a very capable product. My sons had never seen night vision before and needless to say their minds were blown. They must have played with them for hours (they ran the batteries out). This device has some great features, like recording and taking photos. They are not military grade durable, that is for sure. They feel kind of fragile. They are lightweight, but material is cheaper than your more premium devices. I am not sure how well they would survive a drop or two. You can use these over your glasses, so that is a plus, but I actually didn’t need to. I wear contacts, but i put my glasses on to see and while they fit over them just fine, I was surprised to see that I could see without my glasses or contacts on. I am blind as a bat, but I guess that the screen is close enough to my face that corrective eyewear wasn’t really a factor when using it. The biggest con I can see with these is the batteries. It uses a lot and you have to change them out. It would be nice if it was rechargeable, but you can use rechargeable batteries, so no biggie. It would just be nice to be able to plug it in and not have to worry about switching batteries.

These really are not binoculars because it has one optical eyeglass. If you wear glasses you won’t be able to get your glasses into the sight area with them on. So if you are nearsighted like I am and are not wearing contacts, well you won’t be able to use these at all. There is a focus adjustment for the camera lenses, but no adjustment for viewing the screen. You have the ability to record and download stills and video via USB.

These are awesome for being able to see the coyotes in the wetlands behind our home at night! We’ve been able to hear them but now know how close they actually get. We’re able to see where they are and even where they have been bedding down to keep warm right behind our place. The goggles are super clear and easy to use. They work great!

This comes with everything you need, except for batteries! I just ordered it for fun and to have around. The picture I see through the lense is better than what comes out in the pictures and videos but for me that’s not a deal breaker. It’s amazing what it shows when if I am looking out I can see absolutely nothing.
It’s so easy to use, anyone could do it! I think I prefer the batteries style rather than charging, as you don’t have to worry about it dying as long as you keep extra batteries with you. It seems to be well made and is half the price of others I have seen and I can’t imagine how much better they would be. Love that it comes with an SD card because I never remember to keep some around. I appreciate the carrying case. My boss saw I ordered these and he already wants to borrow them for hunting!
I’m definitely pleased and can see how these would come in very handy. I would recommend them.

So fun, great quality for the price!

I’ve tested a couple of pairs of night vision goggles from Nightfox, and while this is the cheapest I’ve used I’m not unimpressed. This is a nice entry level unit that will suit those who don’t need to gaze at stuff half a mile away across a field. It’s small and sleek, but with a maximum range of a little more than 200 yards it falls well short of the range of more expensive goggles. For most users, I think, 200 yards is probably plenty.

The build quality of this device feels pretty good. It’s maybe a little plasticky, but it’s solidly built and feels as if you could toss it in a bag or hang it around your neck without having to worry about it knocking against stuff.

All in all I’m pretty impressed. For $150 this offers most of the functionality of more expensive units without the eye watering price tag. I’d recommend it.

This pair of night vision binoculars impressed me. I have tried other night vision devices and been disappointed. The image quality on this one is pretty good for the price. I was even able to see deer at night without using the IR illumination. Yes, they are dark shapes on a gray background, but the binoculars were picking them up by starlight, so I was impressed. Of course, for practical purposes, I would be using the IR most of the time at night, but it was an interesting test to see if one could actually see the animals using just starlight. The dark image I posted is the starlight photo and you can make out the silhouette of the deer.

These binoculars feel comfortable in the hand. They are coated with a rubbery coating that feels soft. No edges to catch your hand or scratch you. The rubbery coating is not very “grippy” so your hands do slip on it unless you hold it tight. There is an included neck strap. There are two lenses on the front. One is for use during daylight. For night use, you have to remove the lens cover from the second one. During the day, keep that one covered with the lens cap. There is no lens cap for the daylight lens, which seemed odd to me. The binoculars work well for daylight bird spotting. There is a rubber eyecup that accommodates both eyes, but not glasses.

The menus are easy to use once you get used to which button to press for each feature. I recommend learning them before going out at night to use these. Learn to find them by touch. Switching between modes means you have to go through all the menus, which is a tad inconvenient. I would prefer that the control panel menu not come up with the setting for formatting your SD card listed first. (Just in case you accidentally press the wrong button.) But, there are not that many menu options to scroll through, so it does make sense.

You can record video clips or take still photos with it. An SD card comes installed in the binoculars out of the box. You do need to provide batteries though. It uses AA batteries. The door that holds the batteries in is a bit hard to remove since you have to pinch two tabs to remove it. I thought it was a bit hard on the fingers, especially with cold hands. The images are good enough, but not high resolution. When you are zoomed in 3X the images become more pixelated. At 1X zoom, the images are fine. See images of birds I included for examples of 1X and 3X zoom photos in daylight. The night images of the deer were also taken at 1X and 3X zoom so you can see examples of both. There is a standard hole for a tripod, which would be useful to hold the view steady when you zoom in.

The IR is not visible to human eyes, but I don’t know if animals can see it. It did not seem to bother the deer I watched using the IR. The lens seems to gather enough light even at night. You can set various levels of brightness on the IR when using at night. Scroll through the levels up to level 6, the brightest. Battery life seems good so far. I have not completely run through a set of batteries yet. The IR does a good job illuminating distant objects, although they tend to be more out of focus than nearby ones. That has more to do with atmospheric distortion and possibly fog in the air than the device itself, in my opinion.

Focus is not automatic. You use a dial on the left lens to adjust the focus. I found it more difficult to focus at night because it’s harder to see the edges then. It was much easier to focus during daylight use. You do move the view around when you focus since you must move the dial. I found it easier to zoom out to focus, then zoom in and fine tune it.

Downloading images was the only problem I ran into. I used the provided USB cable and plugged into my computer. However, the device was not recognized by the computer at all. I attempted it on two different laptops and had the same result. I emailed customer service on their web site and got a response within 24 hours. (Good job!) Their suggestions had to do with resetting the driver on my USB device on my computer. I tried that and it did not work on either computer. I did notice that the USB connection on the binocs is a bit loose, so I am assuming that is the issue. I knocked off one star due to this defect. I can download images by removing the card and placing it in an adaptor. Images are JPG and videos are MP4 format. The rubber covering over the SD card slot is also a bit tough to get to line up and close properly. It has a tab that has to go into a hole on the body of the binocs. That tab has a tendency to stick out and not go easily into the hole. If you press to hard on it, you end up popping out the SD card, which is an annoyance. I think the rubber cover was poorly designed.

The binocs come with a hard case with a zippered closure. There is one mesh pocket inside to hold accessories. Overall, I think this is a good deal for the price. It does a great job at night and I like that you can record both video or still images with it.

Excellent night vision binoculars, good for daylight birding too

I have been impressed with the quality of this product for the price. Don’t buy this for the magnification, picture isn’t great past x1. Also I cannot put the unit flush on my face. In order to achieve focus I must hold it about 8-10 inches away no matter what I do with the focus wheel. Not a deal breaker for me, but may be for other people. I contacted NIghtfox and they confirmed that this may be an issue for certain people depending on their personal eye focal length (irrespective of whether you wear glasses or not). Something to keep in mind. These are easily the best night vision product I have ever tested and the only one that has lived up to its advertising.

I picked these up on a whim – I’d always wanted a set of night vision…well, they’re not what I would call binoculars, but we’ll run with it.

The picture quality is okay, albeit a bit grainy. The zoom is…not so much. It’s a bit of a chunky unit; 6 AA’s add a bit of heft to the overall weight.

The controls are pretty easy, I’d say my only gripes here are that the unit gets a mite weighty after awhile, and the battery life is not the best (maybe 3 hours). Add in that the SD card isn’t included (although they’re reasonably cheap these days) and we’ve got a reasonable setup at a decent price.

I’m satisfied with it. We’ll see how they hold up over time.

In the 1990s, I was happy to have a set of 8x magnification binoculars with a built-in digital camera. They were indeed binoculars because I could adjust the focus of each eye independently, although the camera was fixed-focus. These Nightfox binoculars are nothing like that. Although the case says “Digital Night Vision Binocular,” the ocular is essentially a cell phone screen that both eyes view simultaneously, and the focus is for that screen. This configuration seems odd at first, but I came to like it because it is always a single image and never splits into two, floating images like ordinary binoculars sometimes do.

Optical zoom leverages the physical change in a lens to adjust the distance between the camera sensor and the subject. In contrast, digital zoom uses magnification technology to enlarge an area of an image (thereby compromising the picture’s integrity by cutting down on the megapixels). The optical magnification for this Nightfox is fixed at 3x and then has a digital zoom for an additional 3x. During the day, I read license plates from across a wide street and recognized people from 100yds away, although the image was undoubtedly more grainy than with a good, lens-only binocular. When downloaded to the PC, there were enough pixels to work with even at max zoom. The Nightfox is much more impressive at night.

A primary goal that I had for these was to understand what my dog sees at night. In the pitch blackness, I see nothing, but he does, and then there is the rapid scraping sound of hoofbeats on the trail. The Nightfox definitely helps with that.

    Quick comments on features:

    Controls
Take the time to memorize the buttons before going outside. The controls are easy to find by feel, but you cannot see the button labels in the dark. I found the Nightfox very easy to experiment with on my various trips outside.

    Connecting to USB
Simply connecting the Nightfox to USB causes a USB icon to appear on the screen, but nothing on my computer. I unplugged the USB cable, used the ‘M’ (Mode) button to move to the settings screen, then plugged the USB cable back in. This approach instantly popped up an accessible DCIM folder full of images on my computer screen.

    Memory Card
The NightFox comes generously shipped with a 32G Micro SD card. This is more than enough for several hours of experimental JPG photos and AVI videos.

    Power Requirements
The battery magazine takes six AA cells. It might be nicer to have a Lithium cell that is charged via USB, but I’m fine with using my own NiMH AAs that I recharge with my separate smart charger. It is annoying that the time/date settings are lost the moment the battery magazine is removed, but I was able to use this for several nights without recharging.

    Photo and Video examples

I have two photos of the stick tree far outside my backyard. The fence in the background is six feet high if that helps comprehend the distance, which I wildly guess at 50yds. The daytime photo is in color for comparison and taken from the same spot. At night the yard is pitch black, and I can see only a hint of the tree. I was very impressed at how clear the Nightfox made this. I used the IR illuminator buttons for this.

I have one photo and one video of a deer that was about 25ft away. I was in the middle of the street looking at a neighbor’s front yard. They had a porch light on, but the deer was only somewhat visible to me with my naked eye. I did not use any IR illumination for this and was impressed by what the camera sensor could see just in those very low light conditions.

Overall, I rate this as five stars at this price. The high-tech look, the impressive performance, the ease of use, and the compatibility with my existing tech (Linux PC, AA rechargeables, SD card reader, etc.) impressed me. I even came to like the “new tennis shoe” smell of the neoprene shroud.

    Are these binoculars or goggles?

The night vision device is very good. This is really different from the telescope. This is the magical device for viewing things in the dark. It is very powerful and can see two or three hundred meters. It can also record video and see through the glass. The image resolution is 1920*1080.
It can be used during the day and night. The display is in color during the day and the infrared black and white image is displayed at night.
Very good at night, I accidentally see animals in the woods, rabbits within 30 meters can see
I believe it will be very helpful for people who patrol at night or observe nocturnal creatures

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have always wanted a night vision camera. This one was so easy to setup out of the box. I had to put in 6 AA batteries, not included. The battery compartments can only come out, since it is so deep, with both hands pulling up on it. It comes with an SD card. I put the strap on, which is nice and hefty with a rubberized side to help the camera stay put around your neck. I turned it on then switched it to camera mode and pushed the camera button. I took a pix in a dark room with my phone of part of a weight set then took it with this camera, attached. I then went outside and took a picture of the farm across the road. I swear the image in the the camera lens is so much clearer than what the photo shows. It certainly is not a high resolution camera but for me it is just what I need. It is also nice that it comes with a firm case to protect the it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a good set of entry-level night vision goggles. Those familiar with military-grade night vision it is somewhere between ANPVS-4 and ANPVS-7.

Disappointed it did not come with batteries and an SD Card. Also, the IR on/off is tricky. Finally, would have been great if the function buttons were slightly luminescent, as cannot see them in low light. Reason for the 4-Star rating.

All in all was able to see objects clearly in almost total darkness.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have tried a few IR night vision cameras before and always with disappointing results. This set of night vision binoculars also has a picture and a video function built in that are far superior to the night-vision cameras I have tried.

The pictures included in this review were done on a cloudy night with no starlight and so pitch black except for ambient city light. It was so dark that you could not distinguish the island with the birds on it from the water or the buildings behind it. For all I could see, it was just one black blob and you could not even tell that the island existed. The binoculars were able to show the island and allow me see the birds living in the rookery. White ibis and anhingas everywhere. It was about 75 feet away when the picture was taken.

After that I turned my attention to a set of Peppertree bushes that were also unidentifiable as even existing. On my first look I was able to see a good sized water moccasin lying in the branches, its curving body standing out from all the straight lines of the brush. I looked at a different part and it was also clear and then turned up the power to the IR and was able to see much deeper into the brush with greater detail (see picture attached to review). This was all in pitch black conditions and about 50 feet away.

Although the binoculars are designed to fit well around the eyes, I wear glasses and so that would not work for me. Holding them just in front of my glasses still worked very well and I was able to see everything very clearly.

The camera comes with a 32GB memory card to hold the photos and videos. The card can be removed and put into a reader to transfer them to a computer or printer. But the binoculars also come with a USB connection (cable included) so you can connect it directly to a computer or laptop and transfer the files. I did have some difficulty getting this to work but found that if I turn on the binoculars and change the mode to either pictures or video and then connect the cable it works flawlessly.

The manual that came with the binoculars appears to be for an older version. It indicated that it would do 2x magnification when in fact this on will do 3x. Needless to say, photos at that magnification are difficult as the slightest movement makes them blurry. However, it does come with the ability to attach to a tripod and get better results.

The only issues I have with the camera are pretty minor. First, the small rubber cover for the USB connection and memory card location is not easy to close once you have opened it. The latch is made of rubber and when trying to get it to go into the small hole it often bends instead of going inside the hole. Also the thin rubber piece that keeps this cover from being lost is very flimsy and can easily cause the cover to be torn off.

The buttons to turn the camera on, change IR levels, increase magnification, etc. are a little strange to get used to. I would press them and nothing happened and then press again and they would work. After several minutes of using it, I got used to how to make them work right every time. It appears to just be more of an issue of feeling for them in the dark and then pressing them. They are all the same black as the binoculars and cannot be seen at night but must be felt for. Again, it was easy enough after some experience with it.

The batteries do not seem to last long but given what they are doing and the amount of IR that has to be emitted to get this good of a view, their life is reasonable. The higher you set the IR level the less they last, but I can do what I want to do at a level 3 and they last well there instead of the maximum level 7. Still, if you need it, level 7 can illuminate a significant distance.

These are easily the best night vision product I have ever tested and the only one that has lived up to its advertising.

Wow, does a really good job

Works well n daytime and night time.
Easy to use. Needs 6 AA batteries, not included on the package.

At daytime, it can be use as regular and at night vision for night time.

Having the cap is for color and removing the cap is for night vision.
It has a focus ring for clarification.

You can capture pic/video on it.
32gb micro sd (class 10) is included on this package. Class 10 is high speed. That means it can record faster.

    Price is reasonable.

Works well on day and night.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have been impressed with the quality of this product for the price.

So, I was expecting some low quality, small sensor, just with infrared filter removed. In a way I was right.

Look at the video and you can see me manually focusing – that’s the only way to focus, but it is easy.

You can see the quality of the zoom on the video. Don’t bother – it is digital zoom, it isn’t great. I guess it shows you what the picture would be like if you cropped it, but I would recommend cropping in post production if you bother to do that.

The video and photos were taken on IR7 setting the strongest infrared setting. You can’t look through glass with that (it lights up the area with infrared and picks that up), but there is an IF off setting that is just, I assume, a high ISO setting and you can look through windows with that.

If you look at the still pictures, you can see that there is a lot of noise and noise reduction. Also, focus is difficult to get right for a still image (but easy if just looking through the view finder).

Battery life is ok. I used 2800 mAh NIMH batteries and is gives maybe 20 minutes on time.

The micro SD card is hard to get out unless you have long nails or tweezers.

Given these comments, why 5*. Well when not recording and just looking through the eye piece, the screen appears large, bright and clear. View a recording on your computer monitor and you’ll see where it falls down, but through the screen it is absolutely fine and much better than I expected. The menu controls are easy. Overall, if you are going to try and see some wild life in your garden, this’ll do well. If you want to take great photos, spend a lot more on a second hand dSLR, remove the IR filter and get a very fast, expensive lens.

Some caveats (see video and text), but this works! Who'd have thought!?

The binoculars are fairly easy to use in terms of using them just as binoculars, but it takes a little bit of time to figure out all of the settings such as taking video and pictures. Brilliant that it comes with an SD card too. They’ve been great to have play with down the allotment in the dark, watching what wildlife is about and up close, as well to take fishing camping to see what goes on across the lake once it goes dark. Not too heavy and easy to hold,. They are clear and do what they are supposed to do so fantastic for anyone that likes to do anything outdoors once the sun goes down.

The binoculars are light and small and can be carried with you when hiking, long-distance walks and bird watching. Now we can better see the ducks and geese in the pond behind my house. My wife said I should be careful not to let the neighbors across the pond think I was peeking at their windows. The materials and optics are of good quality, so you don’t need to read them. Easy to focus and a lot of adjustments. It also comes with a protective cover for all lenses and a protective cover. Easy to adjust and clean.

A decent product, but not binoculars. This is really a night-vision camera – one lens is the infra-red light (adjustable for 7 levels) and the other is the camera. A digital display gives reasonable detail, which can zoom to three times magnification.
I’m not sure why it claims 180 metre range – I could make out details far in excess of that.
The focus ring on the camera lens is a little fiddly. If you’re wearing gloves then you will probably need to take them off to adjust the focus.
Battery life is affected by the strength of the IR light – crank it up to maximum and the batteries drain a lot faster, so I’m using rechargeable batteries.
A nice device, useful for watching wildlife at night.

These night vision digital binoculars is really a night vision camera with magnification and manual focus.
It arrived in a useful storage case and the strap to hang it.
All you need is a memory card and six AA alkaline batteries.
They last quite well, I am still on first set, but then again I don’t always record and just use it as a night vision binoculars, not camera. The wrap around soft rubber eyepiece is very comfortable.
The quality of the device is very good, it is easy to set up and straightforward to use.
It is excellent to watch and record the night life. It produces a good quality footage, especially on the tripod, which it can be attached to.
I am not sure what technology it uses for night vision as there are no IR LEDs visible, but it produces a clear, black and white image at the great distance (up to 180m).
There are a couple of things/features I wish it had – rechargeable instead of batteries and optical zoom.
This probably would make it more expensive and it is already not cheap.
I can’t complain though as for what it is promised to be it is very good and I would happily recommend it.

    Good quality night vision camera/binoculars.

My parents have just moved in next to a forest and these Binoculars have been incredible. They are exceptional quality and allow you to have super night vision. Not only that you can record things to show your friends and family the next day. My mum uses it to look at animals in the woods and then gets to show the children what she saw the next morning. It’s an incredible set that comes very well package and is certainly worth the price.

These are nice looking night vision binoculars, except they aren’t exactly binoculars, also they just seem to be lacking a little finesse.

They come well packaged and everything is in a nice case, they would look good as a gift. They come with a USB lead, a neck strap, manual and 32 GB MicroSD card, but no batteries, I would have expected the batteries to be included at this price.

These are in effect a video recorder and camera which have night viewing capability, granted the night viewing capability is better than what you would find on many of the camcorders that have the IR function, but the recording capability possibly isn’t so good.

Firstly, these aren’t really binoculars, they have one lens and viewing is done through a digital screen; the screen isn’t bad, and in some ways it is nicer than trying to look through eye pieces. The difficulty that I had is that these are not really perfect for glasses wearers, and they are not adjustable for the extra width.

I wear glasses and am long sighted, so in order to prevent light leakage from the screen I would need to be able to hold the viewer against my head, with the rubber tight around my eyes; firstly I couldn’t do this because by glasses prevented me from sealing it tight enough, secondly when it was that tight, I couldn’t see the screen 100% clearly because it was too close, this made it difficult to be sure that the manual focussing was correct.

It is nice that you can use them in daytime in colour, to do this you will need to adjust the IR level using the arrows until it is off.

At night time it does cover a good area (just remember to take the lens cap off), whether it goes as far as 180 m I don’t know, but it did 30 m no problem.

The video is good, but not brilliant, and the zoom, whilst definitely a nice feature to have, does leave photos in particular lacking a lot in quality, particularly at full zoom, this is because it is a digital and not optical zoom I suspect, it is better on the video though than on the photos. Also missing is a microphone, so all video is sound free, this is a little disappointing when filming wildlife foraging for example.

The binoculars require six AA batteries, rather a lot, a USB rechargeable battery would have been better, cheaper (for the customer), and more eco-friendly. All said though, a few gripes aside, these are a good set of night time viewing binoculars, but they seem to be lacking in anything ground breaking; it is nice to have the photo and video capability too, but I think perhaps that at 149.99 they seem a little over priced for what they are.

Good Night Vision, but Lacking Finesse

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBrilliant piece of kit !, I’ve been looking around for some night vision equipment for a while now. The problem with most of these seems to be image quality unless your spending 3 grand ish for 3rd gen.
The Corsac has only just come out and has no reviews yet, so I thought I would take a punt as its full high def.
I took them on a trial run on the county lanes not far from me on a overcast night with no moon ( pitch black ), the image quality is superb, you can see well past the 180 yards quoted with a really clear image, great for watching the local barn owls in flight.
In all a superb product, for a really good price.

I received the Nightfox Corsac Digital High-definition binoculars last week and my husband is very happy with this product. It was well packed. Now my husband can go hunting and keep an eye on the neighborhood easily. It is a night vision camera and has a full high-definition sensor in it. This gives an amazing and crystal clear image. It is operated with batteries and can be operated for 3 continuous hours with a single charge.
Moreover, it comes with a 32 GB card and he can now record videos as well. Apart from this, it comes with a super comfortable eyepiece that is guaranteed to give support and comfort to the eye. My husband can use binoculars without any discomfort. He can see for 180 m in the dark with this product.
Furthermore, it comes with 7 different levels of infrared brightness for a clearer vision. Coupled with this, it also comes with 3 times magnification giving him the best vision possible. In addition, it has a 30-day refund. All in all, it is an amazing, innovative and modern product. It works quite well. My husband is fully satisfied with these night vision binoculars. Therefore, it is highly recommended by us.

Nightfox Corsac Digital Night Vision Binoculars | Full High Definition (FHD) 1080p Sensor

I haven’t used any night vision equipment before and upon first use, when I tried these out, I was absolutely taken aback at just how clear the vision is. In the video, I recorded an alleyway, next to my garden, where you can’t see a thing at night and these binoculars made it look as clear as day. I was standing about 30ft from the end of the alleyway and the detail was stunning, this was my first attempt at using these so maybe an alleyway wasn’t the best example but it gives you an idea what to expect from these binoculars. Without reading the manual, I had these up and running in minutes so they’re very user friendly.

The specifications aren’t really clear on the product page so I’ll list below what they are:

    Fixed optical magnification – x3
    IR wavelength – 850nm
    Digital sensor resolution – 1920*1080
    Infrared power output – 1.8W
    Power supply – 6 x AA batteries
Battery life – Around 3 hrs depending on use
Memory card – 32GB (Micro SD)
    Recording resolution – 1280*960
Unit weight – 650g (without batteries)
    Viewfinder resolution – TFT
    Screen resolution – 640*360
    Screen size – 3 inches
    Sensor type – CMOS
    Aspect ratio – 4:3
    Aperture – F1.3
    Viewing angle – 10 degrees
Viewing distance at night – 180m
    Adjustable digital magnification – x3

These binoculars come very well presented making them very giftable, the packaging has been nicely done. Out the box you will get the following:

1 x Storage hardcase for binoculars which is zipped and has handle
    1 x Binoculars
1 x Strap which is padded
    1 x USB data cable
    1 x Instruction manual
1 x 32GB SD card which is already inserted into binoculars

These look and feel top quality, the outer exterior has been finished in a soft smooth silicon type material which is easy to grip. The buttons on the top of the unit allow for zoom, infrared adjustment, recording/photo taking and power. The eyepiece is made from a soft silicon and provides a comfortable, wrap around, viewing experience which is also designed to stop any light escaping from the image viewer.

A tripod mount has been provided next to the battery compartment, this mount seems a standard size, it fits my tripod which is a 3/8-16 UNC thread. This mount can also be used to attach additional accessories which are available from Nightfox.

The memory card has already been inserted by the manufacturer, just the batteries need to be inserted. The battery block is found on the underside of the binoculars. You need to press two clips, found either side, in and pull the block out, it’s easier said then done to be honest, I did struggle to get the battery pack out, it’s difficult to get a grip and lever this from the base, after a little while I did manage, I may attach a small adhesive handle to aid getting this out in the future. The battery pack takes 6 x AA batteries, I used alkaline but you may use rechargeable batteries also.

You then need to hold down the power button for a few seconds to power up, pressing the menu button will take you into settings so that you can adjust date and time, this is explained in the manual.

If using these at night then the lens cap must be taken off, leave on if using in the daytime as it acts as a filter. The viewing screen is very easy on the eye and clear, the manual focus is easy to reach and adjust whilst holding the binoculars, basically all the controls are in reach of your fingers, you just need to get used to where they all are and it will be second nature.

Pressing the ‘M’ button will display video/photo options so that you can take a snapshot or record a video, no sound is included in the recording as there’s no microphone

The video recordings are in the AVI format, the still pictures are JPEG. To transfer videos and pictures you can either take out the SD card and insert it into your PC or connect the included USB cable, the PC immediately recognises the SD card and will open up the folder, from here you can copy the recordings, you can also delete them to clear up space on the card.

The video I took couldn’t be played on some of the video player software that I have, it did play on windows media player. The video I’ve attached to this review had to be converted from AVI to MP4 as one can’t upload AVI files for some reason.

On a whole, I’m very impressed with these binoculars, a solid bit of kit that works marvellously, they’re very user friendly and the manual is nicely laid out and understandable.

Very highly recommended – A 5 star product, well worth the 149.99 price tag!

The night vision quality is amazing - I'm very impressed - A cool bit of kit!

Never used a night vision camera before but i enjoyed playing about with this. This was easy to handle and you do need to read the instruction booklet before using to acquaint yourself with the buttons etc. this came with a 36gb memory card and a lead so you can download the images from the camera to a computer. Once you got the hand of it, it was fairly easy to use. It came in a protective case with a carry handle and a neck strap for the camera itself. This was able to take video or camera and on the viewing screen it told you how many pictures you have left top take. My kids are looking forward to trying this out one dark night as we have a fungi forage to go on with torches.

Woah this is a clever gadget.
    My photo-mad son tested it.
To set it up you insert 6 AA batteries (not supplied)
Then power on and focus using the focus disc around the lens, keep turning ,it goes round much further than first appears possible.
NExt use the IR adjusting buttons to get best view in dark.
The night view is black and white of course and is fantastic and a bit eerie.
Daytime view you leave the lens cover on as it is a filter.
In day mode you can see in colour (you might need to press the IR button to get it to change).
You can take movies in AVI format and still photos in Jpg
There is a closeup button to zoom in ,in stages with, that can double the magnification.
It comes with a USB cable so you can get your pics and videos onto a computer.
The range is about 200 yards.
We tried it down the garden with still photography (see the two outdoor photos) at about 80 feet away and its pretty good but this is really for night time use where it is way better.

Son is well pleased with this as he has been trying to get fox pictures for ages and its quite hard as they like the evenings for their adventures where his camera cant really capture as much due to low light.
This is going to be a very popular gadget for his fox watching from now on.

We watched the videos on the manufacturers website which did explain a few things we had missed in the instruction booklet.

The 6 AAs could last upto 3 hours of use which is easily enough time for watching foxes.
You can use Alkaline or Lithiums . I imagine the Lithiums will be the longest lived of the two types.

There is a 32 GB SD card ready to save your pics and vids .
IT has a tripod mounting screw on the underside.
Comes with a hard carry case and a neck strap.

It doesnt come with a torch of any kind.

    Its a lovely machine.
There are other versions from the same manufacturer and some have greater range but this will be fine for watching ordinary UK wildlife.

Fantastic for watching the night garden visitors
