I wouldn’t buy it again. The fixing for the jug electrics which sit on the base are joined through 6 holes protected by plastic. The plastic wears over time leaving the electrics vulnerable to faults.

I use this for smoothies and soups mainly and I use it a lot. One slight niggle I have found is with the lid in that it’s a little difficult to take off, especially when the jug is hot.

The glass jug is ridiculously heavy when full, the jug, weighs in at about 4kg.

It is good at making soup though.
    It makes great smoothies too.

    It’s not really a blender .

It’s first and foremost a great blender.Smothie maker, ice crusher, blended drink maker. The fact that its also a soup maker is a bonus. You can’t just make soup the way you would in a pan and have to tailor quantities/recipes accordingly. Pay attention to the markings for the Max fill levels, particularly with hot items. If you do not, it can get messy! The fact that you can’t submerge the base because it contains the heating element is a bit of a PITA but, you get used to it. The jug might be unusably heavy for some people. All round a good gadget. Built like a tank. Just understand what you are buying and if you only want a blender there might be better more practical and cheaper options including other Ninjas.

    Great product.
Sturdy, strong and effective. Great for smoothies to soups.
Large display with lots of speed buttons for whatever you want to prepare: just click smoothly, smooth soup or chunky soup and the machine does the rest. Just wonderful.

Heavy glass container that cannot go into the dishwasher. However the cleaning function does it die you. Easy.

    Love it!

I don’t often bother writing reviews but I was hesitant to buy this, but I am glad I did.

The settings are self explanatory, the self clean is actually worth a damn unlike most “self clean” products and it’s produces wonderful results for soups

If I had to make a couple negative points I could say it’s quite noisy, and quite heavy.
That said, the heaviness comes from the quality of the build, being built to last, and frankly all blenders are noisy so both those negatives are pretty weak but they are the only negatives I can think of.

If you want what this offers I don’t think you will be disappointed

I bought this since my previous experiences with Ninja products have been good.
I had two soup makers prior to this one from different manufacturers. One did not clean properly, and the other one’s chopper/mixer rushed off. I am looking forward to Ninja doing neither of these things.
I have made both chunky and smooth soups in the Ninja. They have all cooked beautifully.

This was a big purchase for me. I have had a soup maker before & loved it but had been hard to clean. This is brilliant. It’s easy to clean, you can see what’s happening during the cooking process & add to whatever you are making during cooking time. The timer is great too. Easy to use. The soups are great. The ice cream is easy to make too! Great (heavy) machine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMakes really good soup. Unfortunately keep warm facility which turns on automatically after soup is cooked and keeps it warm for 60 mins does not work independently, so as soon as the lid or jug is removed it turns the keep warm off.

This machine is an absolute game changer!
I’ve had 2/3 in my time and they have ended up in the back of the cupboard.
Not this one!! I’ve used it everyday since I purchased it last year.. the whole family love it.

This is a great bit of kitchen equipment! Cut out the ingredients, throw them in and leave the soup maker to get on with things. You can add a little, use the functionality to blend more or just use it to do what a normal blender would do. Very study so should last for a long time.

This machine is a fantastic purchase. The soup function is most used the moment but when it hits up outside then I think we be making cool drinks and milkshakes. It’s also a great smoothie make and blender.

ok so a bit of a mixed review. would i buy it again.. YES. do i love it YES. after working all day i really CBA to cook. our household usually has a very “unhealthy” diet. introducing the ninja.. bought cheap fresh veg, <5mins of prep and the whole family have fresh meals. (even if they protest pmsl).. all love the recipe's from the book (is all we've tried so far).. the thing feels like it's built like a tank, but.. here in lies the (only?) issue we found so far. cleaning.. the heater is built in to the jug so it can't go in the dishwasher. i mean it's 2022 and it can't be dishwashed. it's the only real flaw we found so far. it has a cleaning cycle but when your used to convenience it's a faff. other than that and cost.. i love it.. oh and the family get thier "fresh" 5 a day now somedays rather than frozen meals everyday.. without the cook (i.e. me!) being tied to the kitchen after a long day...

Really easy to use makes great soup. I’ve always made soup just in a pan and used a blender if I want a smooth soup I suppose this is a bit of a gadget but it really does a great job.
There is just the 2 of us in the house now so its perfect for us but probably not good for a family of 4 it wouldn’t make enough, the jug is very heavy but thats to be expected when making hot soup or sauces, I haven’t used it really for anything other than soup so can’t comment on its other uses such as ice cream but I would hope it would perform well based on the soups I’ve made. Very pricey bit of kit but I love it and would recommend.

A great addition to the kitchen appliance list, since purchase it has been used virtually everyday to make a variety of soups of lunch time consumption. Chunky or smooth, makes no difference, gives you excellent results in a little more than 30 minutes.

This is a great piece of kit. I use it daily for a morning smoothie, and make a soup a week. It’s got great capacity, but doesn’t feel like an overly huge piece of kit on the kitchen counter. It’s super easy to use – the first soup I did, I followed a recipe in the book that comes with it, but honestly once you master the steps – base, spices, liquid – you can do what you want. Being able to choose chunky or smooth soup is great. The cleaning function is great as you can’t submerge the jug. It’s a lovely solid piece of kit, feels really high quality.
This will also be great for jugs of frozen cocktails when we’re allowed to have people over again!
My nutribullet which I’d been using to whizz soups and make smoothies for years, had started to leak engine into the juice and make it taste weird (common issue apparently) – so this is an amazing find to replace it.

I have only used this to chop veg and make soup so can’t comment on the features but it makes great soup! Really easy to use and comes with a handy guide with suggestions. The jug is very heavy and the clean function doesn’t clean it perfectly so you do have to hand-wash it which is tricky. The final minute of the soup function is very loud! It sounds like it’s going to explode. Overall this is a great blender so I would definitely recommend i

Its brilliant for soups, smoothies, sauces, nice cream etc- I use it every day, sometimes twice a day. Its easy enough to clean too. Only downsides are its a bit heavy and I wish it was bigger. As a family of 6 we need one twice the size for making soup- or perhaps to buy another!

Just love my new Ninja soup maker and the pros far outweigh the cons. Yes it is a little heavy but the self clean option means you are not handling it too often. The blending is so powerful it is a bit scary the first few times you use it but oh my it gives you silky smooth soup. Love having the saut function. I have tried it with fry light as well to keep the calories down and it works absolutely fine with it. Havent tried the sauce or Ice cream function yet but if they work as good as the soup I will be very pleased.

I love this blender but there’s 2 things which I don’t like. The self cleaning is useful but it takes 6 minutes which then has to be rinsed out afterwards. Hand cleaning it would be done much quicker the only problem is the jug is so damn heavy and you can’t submerge it so you find yourself holding it in the air. Besides that the blender is great.

I was rather sceptical about this appliance initially, as previously having owned a soup maker years ago I thought it would be similar.
How wrong was I…..this is a great addition to the kitchen, fast, easy to use and clean.
Admittedly I have not used all functions just yet.
The jam function is good, however it does chop the fruit quite small and is not the consistency to making it in a pan.
The soup functions are great , as are the sauce features too.

So glad i bought this machine, i am eating alot of soups lately due to being health concious and it makes me enough soup for lunch daily to last for the week. I am a lover of smooth soups and it blends whilst it cooks so you do have lovely smooth soup with no lumps. The only thing i dont tend to use is the saute option i tend to saute onions and garlick in a pan before hand as i dont feel it really does the job for this. But apart from that i am pleased with it and would recommend it.

This is an absolutely brilliant blender . I will never go back to a traditional one, my only gripe is the loudness of it but thats a minor issue. I especially love the self clean button it saves me standing around the sink to clean it.

It’s a big beast to have in a small kitchen, but honestly it’s awesome. It’s great that it does hot and cold, chunky and smooth. The machine is quite easy to use and it’s nice to experiment. I think all the buttons are pretty much self-explanatory but you can easily look at the instructions to know what programme to use depending on what you want to do. It’s very easy to clean, as there is also a programme that helps with that. It’s a heavy machine and not the easiest to put away if you have a small kitchen like mine. Either way I am very happy with this purchase. Definitely recommend.

I only really use the soup and frozen drink setting, but I do really enjoy this blender /soup maker. Great for making frozen cocktails but the clean up is always a bit of a faff as you have to be careful not to get the bottom of the jug wet. I have tried a hot drink in this but it takes too long and the milk burnt to the bottom. It makes lovely soups and is very convenient that it chops and sauts the veg. Overall, I think it’s worth the price if your going to use it often enough

Pros – easy to use, actually cooks soup, chops ingredients. Chops ice, versatile.

I previously had a morphy Richard soup maker and found that even giving it an additional cycle the smooth soups with root vegetables were never smooth.

This however, can just absolutely obliterate food and give you some seriously smooth soup. I like to always try and include a carrot or other root veg in soup and this cooks and blends sufficiently.

Favourite go to soup is some saute onion, red pepper, carrot, cumin and paprika with some stock. Super smooth and super easy to make.

It’s also great for smoothies but if using ice or fruits like banana with little or no juice, make sure you layer them properly or it will just create an air pocket.

The cleaning function is great but you’ll see need to sponge and rinse the lid and jar.

It can be pretty noisy when it is blending but it gives you a wee warning beep. It’s noisy enough to wake up my 1 year old upstairs though.

In the end I’d definitely recommend it, I’ve been eating healthier because of it as its easier to use up veg.

Brought this to make soups, super quick and easy to use, just through it all in, add stock and bosh 30 mins later lovely warm soup!
Also made hummus and other dips but found out it struggles to blend with small portions so better off doubling the recipe.
Makes perfect smoothies and milkshakes too which even got my fussy partners approval as no lumps or bits!
Only downside is that I find the jug heavy to lift and I’m quite strong on my arms so may not be suitable for everyone.

I really like this product. It’s easy to use with the push of a few buttons. The little booklet that comes with it gives you some recipes that you can try out to start with which is great whilst you get used to it. I like the cleaning function on it – it helps to loosen anything up and gets most of the debris off. It is quite a loud machine when it’s on full blend and the jug is heavy which means cleaning is not as easy as it could be, as it can’t be submerged in water due to the motor. But, once you’ve used the clean function it’s not too hard to give it a final wipe out/rinse. Overall, a good product.

For making soup you can saut beforehand or just pop in the veg and choose chunky or smooth soup, only downside it is loud when blending for smoothies so wouldnt recommend using when people are asleep –

I use this mainly for making Frappuccino’s – slightly indulgent, but it is amazing for it – really haven’t used it to saut anything yet.

Easy to clean – very pleased with my purchase

Made 3 soups so far and can honestly say this is brilliant. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a pre made soup ever again.

I like it. I bought it mainly for smoothies and it does the job well.
    Lots of nice functions.
Not used the soup maker yet so looking forward to trying that.
It’s easy to clean. I just rinse it and use the cleaning brush and it works well. It has a cleaning function too but I haven’t needed to use that.
It is bit heavy due to glass jug and heater element but not too bad.

This product is fantastic! Makes great soups and even keeps them warm after they have been made. Can do so much with this item. It is a high quality product. Would highly recommend.

This is a nifty little machine which I am generally very pleased with. Only downside to it is its weight. It is quite heavy and need to use two hands especially when full to empty out contents.

I use mine more as a blender than a soup maker. It crushes ice and frozen fruit easy peasy. I have made a tomato sauce in this before however it seemed to take me ages to get rid of the garlic smell so now I just use it for my fruit/non extra smelly sauces. It heats as it cleans which helps and seems to do a great job especially after a few swills of clean warm water.

Pros. It makes beautiful soup. No need for saucepans and food processor etc.
Cons. If I was inventing this I would have put the heater and controls in the base to make the jug lighter, it is VERY heavy and you still have to wash spillages around the top after pouring but you can’t get the base wet.
Also if you make, say mushroom or leek and potato soup where you chop etc. manually at the end you can’t keep it warm, it should have a separate keep warm button.

1 month in, very impressed, lovely smooth soup. Significantly better than our previous soup maker which had less powerful motor/smaller blades
