This is great value for a household to get online on the Switch. It’s a bargain.
You kind of need it if your switch is for you (not your family), I really only bought it for animal crossing
I kind of wish it was like PS4’s ones where u can get like free games or cheaper deals and stuff.
Simple as it gets, I use this with my switch so others can join in on my games and I can also download/play additional content I would recommend especially if your playing a multiplayer game.
I bought 2 x 3 months online subscription for my twin boys for there Nintendo switch when I purchased it I got the 2 codes sent straight to my Amazon account and was able to put the codes straight on to there Nintendo switch which meant they could go straight online to play there favourite game fortnite

Obviously the code worked , but how do you get to the code? Well you go onto your orders on amazon the click onto the 12 month membership card that looks like the picture up top , you then click on the link , and there you have it your code

Whilst an online subscription isn’t required to purchase any content from the eShop (at least that I’m aware of), a subscription IS required to use any online services of ANY game that has them.
Thirdly, it gives you access to free SNES and NES apps; whilst the selection of games are somewhat limited in comparison to the Library of each of the respective system’s games, they are both being constantly added to by Nintendo, and are definitely worth a look at.
In summation, I would personally recommend taking the week free trial of the online subscription that Nintendo offer in the eShop BEFORE purchasing this (a LOT of people seem to miss this before they commit!), but if the use of an online subscription is for you, this is the best value for money for a single account (If you believe a multiple account subscription would be better for you, a family service is offered in the eShop).
