Just like the doctors use. So easy to use and understand.
THE CUFF WAS TIGHT AT FIRST. BUT EASES AS IT IT USED AND IS CORRECT AS A DOCTORS READINGS.
I like the simplicity of the monitor. Check my blood pressure daily. Found it to be accurate and gave same reading as the one used in our surgery.
USED TO MONITOR BLOOD PRESSURE AND PULSE. VERY GOOD MACHINE
What a great product. It works really well. The cuff which is the most important bit is simple to use and is a very good fit. The cuff itself wraps round your arm and there is just a small velcro flap to hold it. Nothing like the other cuffs where you have to tighten them up round your arm. Very pleased and working well.
Very easy to use, consecutive readings do differ but this is to be expected. Is it accurate, I have no way of knowing without using many other machines and comparing the figures
Bought to replace an old machine which had a wristband.
This is very easy to use and very good quality.
This is a replacement for a monitor we have used for many years. The arm cuff is slightly uncomfortable, as it is extremely stiff, but other than that, it’s a great little machine.
Our previous machine was beginning to provide some questionable results so good time to update.
Happy with the new machine, cuff size much better.
Only criticsm is the guide is written in many languages and is somewhat difficult to follow
Does the job
Like that it has two simple user options so both the wife and I use it.
Fits in a small bag (supplied)
Easy to use
Having read previous reviews of this product, went ahead and ordered one. Very accurate and straight forward. good to have a memory function to refer to.
Easy use monitor that I suppose is accurate. No way to prove it but looks better than average product.
Very good item.Very accurate. The only fault I can find is that the armband is very stiff and as I have arthritis in my hands,I find this not so easy to put on as soft armbands.Failing that,I am very pleased with this product.
Reaching that age where I need to monitor my health more closely, I wanted an easy to use blood pressure monitor to check this myself. This Omron product is very easy to set up and the instructions for use are clear. I like that it stores readings, including the date and time taken, so that I can review my blood pressure over time. Highly recommended!
Impressed with this monitor. Neat machine, easy to use. Very useful that 2 people can store their data.
The cuff does not “explode” as it expands as in monitors in previous purchases I have made (and as a consequence, sent back).. Easy to use and read results. Success at last!
I ordered an upper arm pressure monitor but you sent a wrist monitor, not my fault I am returning it However I have now received the correct one which I am very pleased with
Lots of features that I don’t use but perhaps others would. Pretty accurate but I would personally advise users to use the average of three readings feature.
Great for monitoring blood pressure at home so you can let your GP know if blood pressure is not good. Easy to use and reliable
I had been told by my Doctor to get one of these Bp meters and so far its been extremely accurate. Just foll the instructions its so easy.
Decided to purchase this monitor as my existing expensive wrist monitor was repratedly providing variable readings over short periods and error messages primarily because my wrists are rather large.
The upper arm Intellicuff is absolutely foolproof and although the machine is far bulkier, its proving to be far more reliable, very accurate and easier to read. The only minor points is the size & ensuring the tube is in the correct position.
I was advised by my doctor as my blood pressure was a little high , for peace of mind I brought this one as the cuff was larger, (don’t forget those bingo wings) this is so easy to use and read the monitor is in large numbers , I’m glad with my choice .
It’s a really good product I would say about 98% accurate. The problem I found was in structions not much in English, but after a few uses I got the hang of it. Came on time well packaged. Thanks.
Really delighted. Bought for my mum who needs to take her blood pressure at home daily. Very easy for her to understand and use
This is the 2nd one I have bought, this time as a necessary gift for a relative. I bought my own about 4 yrs ago and it has given excellent service and has been recallibrated just once so far.Good price for this model which is the same as used at my health centre. Highly recommend.
I am pleased with the machine, as both my husband and I have high blood pressure, so we can now monitor it at home. Machine is easy to use, also not too large, so good for storage
Takes a while to understand the readings and sometimes even a small mistake can be made but its a very strong machine and when used properly perfect
I like this because it shows so many reading for heart etc and also tells you if you either need to consult a doctor or you have used the machine incorrectly so a great produc
This OMRON Blood Pressure Monitor works really well and is easy to use. Comes with instructions and a bag to keep it in, Very pleased with my purchase. Does not contain batteries though. Had to buy some separately
Excellent, bought this one to replace an older Omron version that was 12 years old and still just about working. This one is far better, far fewer Err readings, in fact not one yet. The cuff works better too
Generally speaking I find the monitor to be as I expected. The only disadvantage is that the rigid cuff is uncomfortable but it does stay in place.
After trying a couple of cheap blood pressure monitors I finally gritted my teeth and bought this one. Absolutely no regrets – the shaped cuff makes it easy to use and the readings are clear and accurate plus I can store two sets of readings for myself and my husband. Well worth the money!
Used these in my Doctors cuff is so much easier to fit than in surgery, very pleased with the Product, will start using it tomorrow. Great service as always from Amazon thank You
Machine is simple to use and understand. Very clear readings. Chose carefully and would purchase agai
Much better than my old one.
The arm band is much better.
Easy to use, same reading as doctors when checked together. Well worth it for peace of mind.
Use for tracking blood pressure. Very sensitive – flags up an error if not worn in correct position or if pope connection isn’t perfect. Also records pulse and you can record the results. Can be used by two people.
I like it because it does pick up and show a warning sign for your heart beat, also I need to keep a check on my blood pressure and it is very accurate with this too, clear to read and understand.
I had already tried another brand which was rubbish. This is the one my Nurse uses and it is great and very accurate, not cheap but you get what you pay for, highly recommended.
Really pleased with this BP monitor. Although early days it appears to be very simple to use, read and accurate. Still have to learn how to store and read historic readings but instructions are pretty explicit so don’t foresee any problems.
Appears to be good quality and easy to use and can take readings for two people as a record. Don’t know how accurate it is but believe accuracy must be pretty close, good easy to read info screen with instructions provided.
Pros. Came well packaged. Easy to use straight out the box, batteries included, records results, clear read-out and instruction manual if detailed analysis needed is enclosed.
Cons. None observed.
Summary: It seems reliable and ‘solid’, giving ‘peace of mind’.
Excellent value for this important machine made by Omron. I now monitor my blood pressure regularly and feedback to my GP surgery.
So easy to use and the built in memory functions is an added bonus.
Easy to use with ability for two people to store 6 results. Batteries ok for occasional use otherwise buy the additional mains plug. Comes with a pouch for storage. Would recommend
This product is must have if you are a high blood pressure patient. This machine is same as used by my g.p. Its very accurate, easy to use and stores two persons BP history. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It’s a high quality product. Got this for my mum. She is absolutely happy with it.
Unlike conventional cuff monitors, this one with its semi-rigid ‘cuff’ is far easier to use, particularly for someone who has trouble both positioning and tightening simultaneously.
Expensive, possibly, but still an excellent machine.
The unit arrived in the display carton, which had all but burst, it is very lucky every thing was still in the box, and not damaged. The display box is not suitable for shipping.
The actual unit seems to work really well, and the cuff is easy to apply one handed. Measurements are displayed clearly.
Nice feature is the user switch allowing two people to keep track of their own measurements.
I’ve only used a coupe of times since delivery so time will tell.
Day one of use.
POSITIVES:
It was easy to apply the cuff and take the readings.
The cuff is reasonably comfortable while taking the readings.
The readings are done quite quickly.
Readings are clearly displayed and the memory is easy to access.
NEUTRAL:
I have nothing to compare the readings against, so I can’t say how accurate they were.
NEGATIVES:
I can’t find anywhere in the Instruction Manual how to set the Guest Mode. Also searched the online version – no joy there either.
(minor) Instruction Manual Part 2 has 7 other languages side-by-side with English, which makes it cluttered – Part 1 is better, as you can discard the pages for languages you don’t need.
(minor) The carry case could be sturdier, with separate compartments for the reader, cuff and manuals, and a carrying strap.
Had Omron before and this machine doesn’t disappoint.
Easy to use cuff and good clear display.
Readings seem accurate compared with another machine that was verified as correct by the doctors.
Top product, it’s accurate based on comparison with professional hospital equipment. I also bought the larger strap and there are no issues using it.
One thing I would recommend is to buy a separate wired power supply as the batteries do tend to run out quickly.
Other than that – it`s perfect with all the features you would expect (memory etc.).
Do not bother with cheaper fancy products – this is and has been the industry standard for years…
Having to keep an eye on BP as we age is now more important – this is the second Omron BP home monitor we have had – the first did 15 years excellent service but eventually needed replacing – this one is far better with a really comfortable cuff that doesn’t pinch. Delighted with it.
Clear display, good instructions, perfect.
In all respect good value for the cost. Accuracy is unknown at this stage.
I do however have a question about the long-term serviceability with the connector seal of the armband to the monitor.
I suspect that repeated plugin /plug-out of the connector every time the unit is used will cause premature wear of the seal, resulting in inaccurate readings.
As a result, until I receive clear advice to the contrary, I intend stowing the unit, after use, with the armband in the connected position.
May I please receive a response to my comments from the supplier? John Wisema
Nice machine but does not show the high or low indicators, just show the actual blood pressure.
Easy to fit strap around the arm. Does save previous readings.
Not good for some 1 who does not understand the blood pressure number because it does not show if the pressure is normal, high, mild or low like some other machine available.
Works perfectly when instructions are followed. Great product, not made in UK but Vietnam, at least it’s not Chinese.
We had a high street chemist “own brand” one, which was not a lot cheaper but seemed to give fluctuating results that were never close to the sphymomamometer used by the doctor. This gives reproucible results when several tests are done cosecutively. The two person, 30 reading memory is fantastic.
Tis was bought as a replacement for an old Omron that finally died. The previous version had a hard case which protected the machine and cuff very well. This one came in a very cheap and nasty nylon zipped bag which fell apart very quickly. Sadly the new machine did not fit in the old case (smaller and different shape). As a blood pressure monitor it seems to work well, though my wife thinks it gets too tight!
he previous blood pressure tester i had was not accurate so had to get another, this one seems to read correct as neighbour often compares readings with her own one..looks very well build and competitively priced.
easy screen to read and does not est batteries..audible sounds are very clear and not a sharp shrill sound like some
A requirement for a blood pressure monitor was needed for my dad, and the only brand I could think of was Omron.
There was no option of choosing any other manufacturer.
Omron are the leaders in this industry, and all medical facilities use this brand.
The M3 intelli sense model was the best priced version when compared to the other offerings.
It features an easy to use fascia with just one button. It takes 4 AA sized batteries and an input for a plug in adaptor, however the adaptor would need to be purchased separately if you require this option.
It is easy to use and even has an indication to tell the user whether the arm band is tight enough around the arm.
The device has memory for 2 users with a simple slide button to switch between the users.
The blood pressure indicator is clear and precise on screen.
The kit is extremely well built, and the quality shows. If looked after, it will last for years.
Great bit of kit, forget the other fancy ones which have Bluetooth or phone app capability.
This is all you need for an easy to use, no hassle blood pressure monitor device.
Buy it.
Initially, I was reluctant to buy as there was not much information whether if the monitor wasn’t UK approved.
Came to find out that the hospital that I frequent to had the same monitor.
So far the item has been easy to use and has not failed. The cuff accommodates from small arm sizes to large arm sizes which is perfect if you intend on sharing the monitor with other family members.
Also, the monitor arrived quick and well-packaged.
This is a very good quality product for home use. I have previously owned and used an earlier model from Omron and, more recently, a Chinese branded model. The M3 feels higher quality, easy to use and the readings seem to be more consistent.
The reason for losing a star: The instructions (section 2.2.22) says to use only alkaline or manganese batteries and no other type. Guess what was included: carbon zinc batteries! I am puzzled that that a leading company such as Omron made such a basic mistake?
I ordered the M3 intellisense. LED indicators can tell you state of health even if you not sure what the numbers mean. It also has indicators which lights up to inform you if your doing test correctly and irregular heartbeats. LCD isn’t best quality. Can become blury if not viewed at particular angle. LED would have been expected at this price 44. But overall its very accurate.
Really do recommend this machine , but I do advise buy the charger with it. This machine is used quite regular and gives a reliable pressure reading compared to other machines we have used in the past. The money was well spent .
Great product, really easy to use with feedback when the cuff isn’t in the right placement. The memory allows for 2 users to store a lot of results. Accuracy of results hasn’t been confirmed with another test but appears to be correct.
Nice compact unit with a comfortable arm cuff. Seems to be very precise, giving the same readings when you repeat the measurement. Can be used to log readings for 2 users and can store up to 60 readings for each. Nice design too.
Delighted to receive this product one day earlier than expected from Amazon.
My previous cheaper branded machine had failed unexpectedly and I needed a replacement fast!
Looks and feels a quality product with many features to enable accurate readings of blood pressure at home.
For best results, please read the helpful manufacturer’s instructions.
Having many serious Medical problems means I take my blood pressure on a daily basis and this unit gives lots of sensible information. It’s worth paying more money to get this excellent product.
Really happy to recommend this product and Amazon’s really speedy service under very difficult conditions.
My GP practice uses the same brand so I have some confidence in the accuracy. I do however find that 2 readings taken in short succession on this type of equipment result in a different readings. Seems to be a feature that isn’t unique to this brand.
Not Bluetooth!
Little over complicated if you’re wanting to get at memory etc but you get used to it. VERY high quality compared to entry omron models. Well worth the extra money!
Great BP monitor, easy to use and I found the cuff very comfortable. I have slightly larger arms so it is great to have a cuff that is sized for both smaller and larger arms rather than having to buy an extra cuff. I found it reassuring to have the OK light on the machine that tells you if you have wrapped it to the right tightness as well. And will give you an error if it’s too loose…too many machines will just give you a reading anyway even though it’s bound to be inaccurate. For me, monitoring at home unsupervised, this made things a bit more foolproof! It also tells you if you moved too much during the reading.
The only issue I had with this machine is that I cannot take readings from my left arm – it gives me an error. I previously ordered the M6 Omron machine and sent it back because of the same issue. When I got this one (M3) it did the exact same thing which then led me to think that the machine wasn’t the problem…it must be something about my arm and the way it takes the measurement (I’ve had more than one phlebotomist tell me I have weird, deep veins lol!!). As soon as I swapped to the right arm it worked completely normally time after time giving consistent readings. So I always take the reading from the right arm now which my GP says is fine. Overall very happy with it.
My wife and I both use the M3 regularly. Both she and I cannot find anything to complain about! The machine records the last 60 readings for each of us (there is a slider switch to select the user). The only thing I can think of to improve it would be to include a “guest” facility so others could use it without disturbing the records of my wife or myself.
My GP recommended I have my own machine so I bought this brand as it was the same as used at the surgery. So far it hasn’t let me down and I have compared my machine’s readings with those at my GP surgery and found that both are the same. Much better and more accurate than the wrist type, although it takes a couple of tries to get the cuff to wrap effectively. Would recommend this.
Reaching that rough age where you start to consider your own mortality with increasing seriousness I couldn’t remember the last time I’d ever had a blood pressure test and with some concerns I felt I wanted to start monitoring it. Buying a monitor seemed easier than trying to get in at at my GP’s and I felt it might give me an early warning whether I needed to do that or not, peace of mind for my own benefit. With this in mind, I didn’t want to be misled with inaccurate readings so I started with the NHS webpage guide for ‘home blood pressure monitor’, don’t know if I’m allowed to post links in reviews but I’m sure can search for that. This gave good info and said to use the British Hypertension Society’s ‘Validated BP Monitors for Home Use’ to find some models that have been tested and confirmed as accurate for home use… which utlimately led me to this brand and model. It hit a sweet spot for price against features, it says it detects erratic heart beats, and remembers the last 30 tests, and also supports two users worth of memory so both my wife and I can use it. Extra peace of mind knowing it’s been validated as accurate by a third party too. No problems with using it, the instructions are really straight forward. Essentially plug it in, attach it a cm above your elbow crease, just tight enough so that it doesn’t slip by itself, valve positioned toward the inner crease of your elbow, seated, feet flat and arm flat, perfect on a dinner table or sofa arm. Press the button and go. I’m not actually using the included chart as I’m logging the results in an app on my phone, but the chart helps explain what ranges are normal.
I bought the Omron M3 Intellisense as it is the same model my GP uses, as I always have a higher than normal reading when my GP takes my blood pressure I decided to invest in this to check it myself, as you can store the readings I take it with me to my GP appointments and they can see the readings I get when at home, they now have come to the conclusion it is “White Coat syndrome” that causes my blood pressure to be higher when they take it. The machine is very easy to use and comes supplied with batteries which is a plus, the only faff is trying to get the cuff tight enough when doing it myself (I could do with another hand!) I would recommend this machine to anyone.
Bought this to replace old machine with iffy readings. Easy to set up and use. Appears to be accurate but not checked against doctors readings. Like the green light for correct cuff position. Only downside is the storage case is very flimsy compared with previous monitors that were cheaper.
Great machine. Easy to use. Make sure to read the instructions. Don’t eat, drink or exercise for about half an hour before use. Sit completely still in a chair for 5mins with the band already on the arm for accurate results.
My quick research on blood pressure monitors before I bought this recommended the monitor, be medically calibrated, be used on the upper arm, and have a good fitting cuff. This has all three, and has an irregular heartbeat monitor, an average of three readings option, two memories for different people, and, it maybe this intellisense thing, but it does not squeeze your arm numb like some hospital monitors I have had.
The look and feel seems to be the same as the one my doctor uses. It has everything you need without any silly extras. Just make sure you get the cheapest of the sellers as the best price does not seem to be one the amazon promotes.
Had this for just over 11 months before it went wrong (or so I thought). Tried changing the batteries (twice) but still the display was haywire and the cuff did not inflate. As it was over 6 months old Amazon were disinterested so contacted Omron themselves. They were brilliant. I returned the machine and got it back in full working order within a week or so, all under warranty. What made it particularly gratifying was a call from their engineer who told me that the only fault was flat batteries yet they still didn’t charge for the service. I’ve since checked the 8 batteries left in the box of 12 double A’s I took the replacements from and they were all buggered, every one. Can’t praise Omron enough.
Cuff is quite easy to fit one-handed. Warnings for incorrect fitting and movement. Simple one-button activation. Clear display with additional warnings for sub-optimal readings. Good memory capability that will more than cover a typical GP request for twice daily readings over a fortnight. Averaging of three readings within a 10 minute period is also useful. Adequate instruction manual in multiple languages.
in summary, an easy to use machine at a reasonable price.
bought M3 Intellisense to replace 14 year old model which had recently started to read high. quieter than old model. cuff perfectly ok for standard sized humans in the family. the date & time recording in the memory is most useful when recording the data for the GP. all the other bells and whistles in the larger models are a waste of money.
My 1st impression is that it is a very good piece of equipment. It fits my largish biceps quite comfortably so that’s fine. The readings seem to be much more accurate that the other “wrist ” type I had before , so I’m quite happy there as well. It is very easy and intuitive to use and shouldnt be a problem for most people to operate. A simple press on the “Start/Stop ” button and in a fe seconds later, all your info is clearly shown on the large screen.. If you need one, go for it !
When my GP suggested that I purchase a home blood pressure monitor, I spent a very long time reading all the reviews for all the machines. I eventually chose this one. It is one used by many doctors, is very easy to operate, keeps a record of two people’s measurements and is simple to attach the upper arm cuff. It displays your heart rate as well as blood pressure, and indicates if it is outside the recommended levels. It has been very helpful to note that at home under normal circumstances I do not have a blood pressure problem. It is higher at the surgery due to the anticipation. I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.
I’ve used a few different blood pressure monitors over the years. This one is the easiest to use. It tells you if the cuff is not placed correctly. It also tells you if you moved too much. It tells you if your pulse is irregular and lights up to warn you if your blood pressure is too high. (different lights for systolic and diastolic).
Omron is one of the brands trusted by health care professionals, so I feel happy that I can trust it to be accurate. This model can record the blood pressures of two different people at the flick of a switch and also has a guest setting for a 3rd person. The cuff is amply big enough for larger people. Other models I have had in the past I had to buy a separate cuff because the one supplied was too small, and only catered for small to medium build people. Very pleased with this blood pressure monitor. I bought this some time ago now but it still works perfectly. I use it twice per day at the moment and the batteries always last really well.
Works like a charm.
Just be sure you understand the reasons for having your arm the same height as your heart and made sure your back is supported and your legs are not crossed and you have been set quiet (not watching TV or talking or thinking of anything stressful) and rested for a few minutes before you press the button.
All the things above increase BP and yet whenever I get it done by a nurse or a doctor they never adhere to these important things
The idea is to get a “Resting BP reading”
Our BP will spike all day every day but as long as it is not permanently in the high its not too much to worry about. Long term chronic high BP will put too much stress on the heart and this leads to heart disease and heart failure. But as long as your BP is within the normal range when you are “rested” then the heart gets a rest too….
Also, if your peri – menopause woman – your BP may be high due to hormonal imbalances as mine is. I take supplements celery seed extract which thins the blood AND adds elasticity to your veins which helps blood get through them and therefor lowers blood pressure.
Get a good brand – do some research on the brand – read the reviews and try them before resorting to prescription drugs !
Everyone should have one of these I miraculously survived a massive stroke 12monthsago that my cardiac consultant is 100%sure was not caused by high blood pressure but undiagnosed AF irregular heart beat. which my consultant confirmed is very hard to detect Shame my GP at his surgery could not have use a heart monitor that had the ability to identify and as flag up AF irregular heart beat what this brilliant
Piece of equipment does continuously getting the
0))) sign is WARNING that must be acted upon and seeking immediate medical help
is a LIFE SAVER BECAUSE it is treatable condition and could prevent STROKES from happening and because of that fact I recommend this monitor 100% without hesitatio
I purchased this monitor after recently being diagnosed with high blood pressure and wanted to be able monitor at home. I chose the M3 as the mid-range device as it had a more informative display and some additional functionality. Actually, though nice to have, I think the M2 basic would have done the job just as well and saved 15 quid.
The reason I have not awarded 5 stars is because of the irregular heartbeat function. It always displays on mine but the doctor told me that my rhythm is fine. I find the blinking heart icon quite distracting and there is no way to turn it off – another reason perhaps to buy the M2 basic. However, for 40 this unit has many functions which some people may find very useful; for example I like the “cuff fitted OK” confirmation light. All in all, a small price to pay in terms of investing in your health.
We purchased one from Tesco for 40, it was giving variable readings, so I ordered this one. Straight away the quality is fantastic, the tube that goes in to the machine is well held and won’t pop out easily (unlike other ones) you can have two different peoples results stored separately on the machine. Its quick and accurate, a must for anyone looking to buy one.
Seems an excellent product. Acres of instructions but simple to programme & operate when you’ve fought your way through. Very useful memory and average result calculator which will give the user a ‘norm’ to measure against. It has separate usage/memory stores for 2 users, and a ‘guest’ facility. Also identifies irregular heart beat- an unusual feature and a Warning should you move during the measurements, which might otherwise give an inaccurate result. Its predecessor lasted about 15 years before starting to give suspect results. So, if you need to monitor your Blood Pressure & Pulse, in my opinion its ideal for the job.
Delivery was quick I might add- and cheaper using the Amazon ‘Collect’ system.
I do have mild hypertention (controlled) and have 6 monthly checks at my G.P.. I think they use a very similar unit, if not the same make.
This device means that I can check myself in the interim period.
Convenient size, fairly quiet operation and very easy to set up and use. Having an “intelligent” function built in means that the cuff does not inflate more than necessary which makes things much more comfortable than an intense strangle hold on your upper arm.
The results seem to be accurate. It’s useful to have an historical and average record too.
I don’t use the included carry bag because it’s difficult to stash in there, it just lives in it’s box.
After having a BP result a little on the high side (much improved now!) I went about looking for a solution to take regular BP readings at home. I first came to this device as it’s the exact same make and model used in my GP’s surgery so felt it must be reliable. Not having a PhD in Medicine I can’t tell you how accurate it is but after using it for over a month, twice a day, the readings matched up with my GP’s own results so am happy.
This is an excellent blood pressure and heart monitor that is used by professional doctors and has a really good rating in which .
It’s really easy to use you just slide it On your arm and let it squeeze.
It comes with its own little pouch and easy to follow instructions
It’s takes batteries it can also use a charger it measures the dia ect….Just like the doctors
I do highly recommend this it’s just like being at the hospital or the doctors and you can keep an eye on your own blood pressure which can’t be a bad thing
Good product available in amazon at nearly 50% of the cost from the pharmacy round the corner . Came nearly packed and is very well built . It’s a pity the small pouch to store the machine in is of such poor quality that I binned it the same day and got a nice bag Lear I insult the equipment . Had the quality of bag been better it would have been a 5 star. Companies forget it’s all about packaging and presenting
I bought it for my mom and dad. They had and old A&D wrist blood pressure monitor which they have been using for 15 years. But lately the display started to show figures not clearly enough. We thought this time we will give a try to some other respectable brand. This brand new upper arm blood pressure monitor exceeded our expectations. It’s a bit bigger than expected with big clear figures on a screen. Although it is a new device designed for two users it is very easy to learn and use it. The main reason why I chose this exact model is because of a cuff size. It fits on thinner and thicker arm. You don’t need to buy additional cuff! And the price for this M3 model is amazing!!! It is a nice gift for older parents/grandparents. I am pleased that they are happy with it.
Pleased that I bought this as my old digital BP gauge had been providing inaccurate readings. That could have led to serious issues later on.
The gauge is easy to use and also comes with clear instructions which must be read before use. The functions offered by this gauge are more than adequate in my view & the fact that it came with four new alkaline batteries was a bonus. It’s simple to use & reliable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is concerned about monitoring their BP. This gauge is well worth the price as it’s an essential aid to monitoring BP. The only negative is if you have upper arms which are more than 11″ (or 28cm) wide the cuff band may be too tight when it inflates with air to measure your BP. In that case, it would be best to choose the next model up in range which has a larger fit for wider upper arms and also offers more functions.
I purchased the “Omron Healthcare M3 Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor” because I had high blood pressure due to another medical issue, the hospital advised me to either purchase a monitor or visit the nurse at my local GP surgery a couple of times a week which I didn’t fancy doing.
This monitor is brilliant and so simple to use, there is a switch that allows you to record the pressure of 2 people if required. The upper arm cuff slides on simply and if incorrectly positioned the unit will advise you, the cuff also allows use on small to large arms, I have used this on my 10 year old son and my 43 year old arm and even on mine there is a lot of space for larger arms.
The monitor will alert you if your blood pressure is outside the normal range, until I had these problems I had no idea what the normal range is.
The monitor takes 4 AA batteries which are included, it also has a port to allow connection of a 6V DC adapter but you will have to purchase this separately.
This product has saved me so much time and the boredom of being sat in the GP surgery waiting for my blood pressure to be tested so it is the best 35 I have spent in a long time.
My husband and I have both had highish bp readings at gp, who suggested we monitor at home. Very pleased indeed with this so far. It seems to have proved what the gp suspected in my case, that I have “white coat syndrome” so my bp is on the high side when doc measures it (often 145+ / 100+) but quite normal when I do it (116/81 yesterday. We suspected this might be the case as there’s a machine in the surgery waiting room, I’d use that while waiting for appointment and get low/normal reading, then very high reading 10 mins later in the gp room! So this could well have saved me from going on medication unnecessarily. Husband not so lucky though, his readings still on the high side at home, which is final proof for him that he needs to lose weight to lower his bp, so very helpful all round. Seems very sturdy and well made, hope it will last us for years. Like fact it has memory for up to 60 readings for 2 people and a guest function so others can use it without storing their readings. Also great as it traces your heartbeat and gives a warning signal if any irregularities detected. Great piece of kit and very pleased went for the slightly more expensive model.
Arrived with everything which is the unit, the large cuff, batteries and instruction booklets. There is a booklet for every language. It is easy to use and even tells you if the cuff is in place properly. It can be used for one person or two and both the readings will be saved. These can be recalled at any time and it holds 60 readings for each person. It is a nice little unit and a good clear screen. The unit has lights down the left side and shows up if the reading is too high for systolic and diastolic or too low. In addition to that it gives you a pulse reading.
This is an excellent machine and easy to use, would definitely recommend this one for anyone.
Bought to check my blood pressure regularly as mine is high and I’m on medication for it.
The unit is very similar to the one my doctor uses. It is very easy to use and I like the fact that it has a light to confirm you have the cuff on correctly. It also has a symbol come up if you move, warning you that the reading may not be accurate. Also a warning light comes on if your blood pressure is high. I take my blood pressure 3 times and 5 minutes apart to see how I’m doing but you can set it to work out an average reading for you if you wish.
The cuff will fit a wide range of arm sizes and is very easy to fit. It all fits neatly into the bag provided.
The unit seems very well built and is being sold for a really good price on here.
Wish I’d bought one before to keep an eye on my blood pressure. Very happy indeed with this purchase.
Omron have a good reputation for consistent accuracy which is what I was looking for in a BP monitor.
I don’t have any specific medical problems but getting on a bit I like to keep an eye on things and this enables me to do so.
I’ve had another, more obscure make of monitor before which was starting to fail, hence this purchase.
I read reviews both here and elsewhere on the internet on professional medical sites and others. The general consensus was that an Omron device was the way to go.
I, therefore made my purchase of the M3 which is a mid-range monitor…I didn’t need a lot of bells and whistles…and provides for my needs.
Great device.
Be sure to check which Omron 3 you get as one model is only for one user and with limited features compared to the one I received. The only way to tell them apart online if not told is to find one in the shop and physically see if the device is one or two users as the name, Omron 3 is the same for both and the price is similar. I as disappointed that of the 6 mains power adaptors I already have none would fit the hole for the Omron.
Seemingly, I am forced to purchase Omron’s charger. What a waste. Otherwise, it performs great. Really like the features.
Works very well but I did find a bug in the software as it refused to give a proper average reading after the new year until I had put the new date in. It obviously only has a basic internal clock. I’m a guy with 30cm biceps and as long as I put the arm pad on snugly with the tube under the arm, it always read reliably. I also found that readings were more consistent if I sat still for a few minutes before taking the first of three readings over which it averaged. I found this basic unit quick and easy to use unencumbered with gimmicks.
This was bought to replace an Omron 711 monitor which was pretty old, bought in Spain for around 60 Euros and had just failed.
This new design is (a) a much more sensible size, taking up much less space in my bedside cabinet: (b) has many, many, more functions and interestingly is (c) much cheaper and good VFM.
The arm cuff is much more robust and larger than the old one; the set up is simple enough and use – particularly for a person familiar with the way these things work. I would imagine the cuff size will be suitable for everyone but those with body-builder’s arm muscles!
Overall, providing it proves reliable, I would recommend this as a very sensible everyday health aid.
I bought this after having my cardiac medications drastically changed.
After a fair bit of foraging through various forums regarding home monitors, I decided on the Omron M3, and it certainly lives up to it’s reputation.
Easy to setup, easy to use, appears to be accurate, and certainty gives me peace of mind.
