Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFirst, there was a ton of struggle during set up. I have a 12.9″ iPad Pro and had to buy the additional adapter, not a big deal but I didn’t realize it when I bought the Osmo kit.

Next, the story time game did not want to work. It took a lot of finesse to get it going but then it worked well.

It is fun but a bit limited for the low end of the age spectrum (3y.o), however, the bigger kids can get a bit more fun out of it but it doesn’t have a ton of replayability for them. This is only a review of the Osmo and the Starter Kit for young kids though so it makes sense that big kids would be bored.

Simple but really clever and gives a lot of fun. My youngest (4) loves it. The older two occasionally play it with him. He’s fascinated. Thinks the dude actually lives in his tablet and takes the drawings in. Great learning aid for preschoolers.

Be ready to play with the mirror, if you put it on against the iPAD it won’t work, you just have to pull it up a little to get the mirror in the right place. Then it’s perfect. Kids love creating shapes.

I bought this for my special needs adult granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. We always find it hard to get a gift for her level that doesn’t look to babyish. Although it is aimed at the younger age group, being used with the iPad it doesn’t really look it. It was a great hit over Christmas with the younger grandchildren too. It’s a brilliant starter to the Osmo products. I would highly recommend i

I find it crazy the amount of kids I see glued to iPads watching video. Whether it’s at friends or just at a restaurant, they’re often used as a tool to keep them occupied. Don’t get me wrong, I love technology but I do think kids spend way to much time on these things. What I like about this is that it takes the iPad and turns it into something useful and educational which they can use to learn. The set consists of a iPad stand and a special reflector for the camera that in combination with the app and other physical elements provides an interactive learning experience which is pretty cool. It’s a good quality set and it’s great for kids. The only thing that let it down a little was the camera reflector, it doesn’t work with the case I have on my iPad so I have to take the case off every time I want to use it. It’s not the end of the world I know, but they could have easily made it more of an adjustable reflector which would have made it usable with all cases. Anyway, other than that it’s great and my niece really enjoys using it.

Consigliato!

The ABC’s game is a little fast for my 3 year old but she did just turn 3. My daughter loves playing with it but the game requires me to help her every step of the way and she is a pretty fast learner. Works well on the tablet and easy to navigate. I didn’t realize I would have to download an app for each individual game but that’s not an issue. We still have yet to open other games, we’re just opening and finishing them one at a time. Thank you!

My 3 year old is pretty into Ed Tech, and loves Osmo. Some of the tasks are a bit difficult (i.e. building the letters), but they basically just find a way to play with it that is fun, and some of the tasks are a perfect difficulty level.

Main complaint is you can’t buy a lot of the extra things as “separates” – almost everything comes in a kit somehow. Would love to just add the creativity set and pad, for example, but from what I can tell it’s only sold as part of a set. Same with the math numbers. Wish I could just add-on the pieces I want and need!

This is Osmo – Little Genius Starter Kit for iPad. This set is compatible with most modern iPads and unlike the osmo kit compatible with fire tablets, this one would appeal to many people since most people have iPads these days. The kit functions offline so there is no need for WiFi while using the kit. Below are the main features:

    – This kit is suitable for kids between 3 to 5 years old.
    – It is really interactive and makes your little ones think, collaborate, solve, and do activities with physical items.
    – The main activities include shape-building, counting, language learning, outfit matching, and adventure solving.
    – It improves problem-solving skills, collaboration if played with family, critical thinking, mathematics skills, and provide an interactive learning experience.

All in all, very happy with this kit and would make a perfect Christmas gift if your little one is into solving puzzles, math, and knowledge-seeking.

Firstly, you need an amazon fire tablet to start with. It is a different education tool from the traditional one, its more fun and learning maths when we play with it, a great tool to interactive play and learn together with kids, but too expensive.

A different way to the traditional education toys, worth to have.

I got this educational toy for my niece and nephews to use when they visit, and I’ve been really impressed with how cool this is so far! I’d never heard of Osmo before and was a bit skeptical about the price, but once we’d actually played with it I realised how smart it is and the range of games you can get makes it so worth it and makes the possibilities endless in my opinion – it will last many years and many ages!

    Pros:
    * Good starter set: comes with accessories you need for a few of the games (we’ve used Osmo World and Osmo Squiggle Magic) and the stand for the ipad itself
    * Smart design: being a tech-nerd, I think the design is really clever. The top has a mirror so the front camera faces down on the floor… it’s such as simple but great idea. You follow the instructions and put accessories infront of the stand and as if by magic, poof, it appears on the screen!
    * Fun games for a range of ages: both my 2 year old nephew and even my 7 year old niece found these games fun. My nephew mainly liked watching me play and my niece loved matching the clothes and painting them on Osmo World. We made smiley faces and robots with the squiggles and played dress-up for ages
    * Fairly easy to set-up: you have to register your Osmo product with your email, and it makes you input a code and then you can install the 6 games (it did however ask for the code loads of times throughout this process which was a bit annoying)
    * Sturdy stand: luckily, given the nature of my nephew, the stand holds the ipad nice and securely (it would topple with force mind you)
    * Will last as your child ages: you can get lots (and I mean it… There’s so many) of games for the stand so you can keep adapting this to your child as they grow and get games more suitable for their age and development. It will cost but they are less than the stand costs itself

    Cons:
    * No storage case for main stand: it would have been nice to have some sort of protection as we know how kids don’t look after things! The official case is quite expensive and I’d definitely want to invest in it to keep this all together and safe. For now I’m storing it all in the box

So my general take-away from this product is extremely positive as an auntie and parent. It is quite expensive but to be honest I would definitely say it’s justified due to the fact you can keep adding to your game collection and it’s a sort of lifelong toy for them as they learn. There’s even games for coding, drawing… so much, it’s pretty mind-boggling! It’s great for sensory play, for learning shapes, colours, reading and problem-solving… it will definitely support key skills during school years.

I’m going to start my little girl on it when she’s old enough to hone her skills and aid her development as soon as possible as I think she’s going to be a little genius. In the meantime it’s an amazing tool to keep any visiting children busy. I’d really recommend it for anyone who appreciates teaching and learning with technology, which is the way most kids are being taught now in this era. It’s extremely clever and I appreciate it on many levels. Fantastic!

I can't believe how cool this is! Perfect for all ages

This Osmo little genius starter kit is made to be used on a fire tablet, which is not included and is a really educational kit full of games for kids. There is a lot included, like the base for the tablet, certain costume pieces stickers, and rings.

There are 6 games that are really educational and great for small kids. There are also Maths games included which are good to start teaching the little ones about numbers. As well as being educational, they are also fun and attention-catching for the children so they stay attached to them whcih is god.

Overall, it may seem a bit on the expensiveve side but it is really good quality and very educational for children so I highly recommend it.

This is the second Osmo toy we have tried and really enjoyed this set for younger ones. We had no problems setting it up on a Fire 7, but do check compatibility before buying.

You will need to take the tablet out of the case to play, but once it’s set up it doesn’t need to be moved around so should be fairly safe. Each game is downloaded separately. If giving this as a gift I would recommend getting it set up on the tablet in advance – register, download the apps etc, so you are ready to go as there will probably some excitement to play immediately!

The great thing about the Osmo toys is the mix of on screen and in real life. I find the kids don’t get so engrossed in what’s happening on screen that they forget about reality as they have real game play pieces to use as well as watching what happens on screen. We found the apps worked smoothly and had fun with them all, there’s a good variety to develop problem solving skills as well as letters and numbers (although only up to 10).

If I had a niggle it would be that some of the games, like Stories, are solved using logic, but some of these are a little random and rely on trial and error rather than logic! Older kids will also memorise the solutions relatively quickly and may grow bored with some of the games. This set is suitable for 3-5 year olds, although a bright 2 year old could probably manage some of the games with letters and numbers with help. I think by 5 there’s less to keep them interested, which is a shame because the stories are fun and engaging, it would be great to see updates to the apps to be able to progress further and add more to keep this game fun for longer.

For a way to introduce screen time in an engaging and productive way I think the Osmo toys are fantastic. For the price it would be nice to see some further development of the apps or more “levels” added, but overall they are well thought out, quality learning toys.

This is a great way to make screen time educational. We’ve struggled with home learning and have used this kit as a tool to spark some interest in learning with our son. He’s taken well to it and he enjoys the games and they feel very much like games rather than that he’s ‘learning’ something.

    This osmo little genius starter kit is designed to be an add on for fire tablets (not included). In the box you get;
Osmo Base & Reflector for Fire Tablet, 19 cardboard pretend play Costume Pieces, 38 silicone Sticks/Rings (BPA Free and Dishwasher Safe) to practice letter, number & shape forming, silicone game play mat, stackable storage for game pieces & 6 Game Apps: Shape Builder, Counting Town, ABCs, Costume Party, Stories, and Squiggle Magic.
It comes nicely boxed and it is suitable for 3-5 years. I would recommend buying whilst the child is in the bottom end of the age bracket (3) as this is quite a basic maths, pre reading, story telling and fine motor skill programme.
Overall I think this is a great way to get children interested in learning, without even thinking that they are doing work. As well as 6 game apps, you can draw in front of the tablet and scan the table so that the drawing comes up on the screen.
Very clever and overall I really like it. We have come across a couple of minor glitches on the fire tablet (although to be honest this is universal with most apps!) but I do think it has a very high price point.

Easy to get up and running, and it’s so nice seeing my boy interact with it
It’s incredibly good for early years

Great set of educational games with the Osmo Little Genius Starter kit the target age group is 3-5+ Year olds.
Great interactive games that your younger kids enjoy doing because the perception is it is just play but all the time they are learning with the ipad and not just playing!!
Yes it isn’t an impulse buy given the cost it has to be a considered purchase but if the finances check out well worth it.
Super easy to set up and use (provided you have something other than the models listed as not working Generation 1, iPad Air 4, iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch)
The pieces in the kit are sturdy and shouldn’t break for younger kids you may need to sit with them while using the product.

The only con as with all ‘toys’ is will it engage the kid(s) for long enough to justify the expense? and in all honesty possibly not (depends how many use it) as we must have all experienced where the child has more fun with the boxes than the items at christmas 🙂

my son is 3 and he loves this osmo. He learns well when told in detail and “Mo” the character does just that. My son is a creator and osmo let’s him create a whole story.

This is such a great game. All four of our children love it! They love making their own objects and creatures etc out of the rubber shapes and they love making different stories with the characters. Would recommend!

Great product for learning. My autistic son has trouble focusing for anything school related. Will use this for about an hour before taking a break. Fire tablet set requires a reflector adapter. Totally recommend just make sure you buy adapter if needed. Comes with everything in images

Absolutely amazing, my 3 yr old loves it and I enjoy playing along too. It’s great for all the family and there seems to be a lot of potential to grow with them. I bought it on a deal after looking at them for months but having used it now, I’d definitely pay full price for it.

(Tried to upload a video but couldn’t. )
It’s a pretty great little program. Takes some getting used to with the little one, but once she got the hang of it she just took off!

And I love that they have different programs for different ages and stages. They also have games and art programs. My 4 year old has almost all of the programs that were age and ability appropriate for her (: thanks for making a great program.

Great preschool program. Even I was pretty entertained.

My 3-year-old absolutely loves it, we have spent countless hours playing with this kit. I believe it helped him with development and now he is school ready! The only downside is that you have to buy additional sets to have more fun!

Very good educational learning games for kids, might seems too easy for kids over 4, but it is so much for my 2.5 years old girl.

Great product for learning. We have issues with ABC and Squibble we have been only able to use squibble 1 time and since then the app will not work! I have had to buy a newer fire tablet and if that doesn’t issue isn’t resolved we will be returning for the Apple versio

Fun games and great learning toy. My child is a little rough on the pieces and still puts things in her mouth so she has unfortunately ruined one of the costume pieces and at least two of the shape/letter pieces. Not sure yet if it will hinder our playing the games. Great for most kids.

Bought for our 4 year old daughter. She loves it and is really helping her commit letters, shapes and numbers to memory. There need to be more learning products like this for kids. Only complaint about these are prices on everything. Have bought a few kits and have spent well over $300 so far.

Bought this for my soon-to-be 4-year-old and he really loves playing with the costume setup for this. I can’t wait till it gets more into making the alphabet. He tried it but I think he’s still a bit young but he’s really enjoying the rest of the parts to the set up in this set.
