I have a selection of different CCTVs around a number of properties, and having several different apps can be a pain.
The app for this camera CloudEdge is not one of the best ones though not the worst by any means. While there is a setting to turn down sensitivity, there is no way to reduce the area it responds to, so if like me you have a road at the edge of the viewing area then it activates every time a vehicle goes past, particularly with lights on at night. You can set the recording interval (unlike just about all the other apps I have) which is necessary with a battery powered camera. If something is still moving in your target area at the end of that recording then it will make another one immediately following on.
Angle of view is about 90 degrees horizontally (maybe a whisper more) so you can cover a wide area. Surprisingly for such a wide view, there is not too much curving of straight lines which is very common with other cameras particularly at the edges of the picture. HD images are not at all bad (SD not so) and you can recognise individual faces at some distance.
Being battery operated, it will gobble power if used for constant live view. It has only been in use less than 36 hours so I can’t comment on battery life but will update my review when it needs to be charged.
The mounting bracket doesn’t feel sturdy enough nor is it particularly reassuring, but it does the job though I wouldn’t mind spending a couple of $/ more to have had a better one… but it will suffice.
There is the normal delay in connecting to the network especially if it is in standby/PIR mode. As it has to ‘wake up’ to start recording, there is a 1-2 second delay between ‘seeing’ something and recording.
At night, once the PIR is triggered, IR lights come on and while not so bright at the edges (none ever are) it is sensitive enough for you to have a good look at whatever is going on for a decent distance.
Used to cover door and parked vehicles. Easy to set up, great quality images and really good at night. The range and definition are excellent and the intercom system is superb. Considering the price value for money, neighbours bought a 300 system and nowhere near as good. Very happy.

I basically am happy with this purchase, although I have some frustrations with the app. It did not take long to set up and install. The picture quality is reasonable, and one is able to zoom on both still and video recordings. I have set motion detection sensitivity to 8 and the recording ‘break’ to 0, as night recording seems a little reluctant, & recording time set to 10secs but found the battery requires recharging after 4 weeks. What is auto recorded seems a little erratic, there are times when people are only recorded once walking away from the door, but not always so not sure why this is??
The app allows downloading to another device & deletion of manual recording files (album) and the automatic still pictures in history, but I can’t find how to download or delete the auto video events, nor how to easily review a specific event of video. in the app, you can chhoose a history day on a calendar, and then see all the events marked on a timeline, but the reviewing starts at the beginning of the day’s 1st recorded event and then goes through every event. Watching a specific event in the day, seems hit and miss with regular reloading of the first event of the day. Overall though, I think the camera mainly does a reasonable job and hopefully also deters anyone up to mischief.
Ideal as my garden is over 10 metres away from my router and I get perfect WiFi connection, picture is excellent and motion alerts are spot on, I’ve tried a few cameras but this is the only one that has the range I need, would definitely recommend

The video and image quality is great, especially with night vision. There is an option to lower the video quality, which we use as we don’t require the high quality.
We have this camera installed above our front door. There is a slight delay in the video recording, which would miss a person running up to the door and running away, however it does take a picture before recording, which is good. For us this might be because we point the camera slightly downward so as not to be triggered by pedestrians along the path right in front of our house. This reduces the camera field for motion detection.
You can either directly use the SD card or pay a subscription for cloud storage, which is what we do.
The battery life is about a month, and this is based on our camera being triggered roughly 15-20 times a day.

This is a nice quality budget chargable piece of kit. I got this mid October, by February, it was still on the first charge. Incredible. I was expecting to take it down every couple of month to charge it but it’s doing a great job.
It’s fast at detecting too and even has a feature to activate a mic, so if you have this at your front door, you can tell someone to go away. Do you know how hard it was for me to just put ‘go away’ then because if it’s the same sales person knocking on my door, it would be a bit stronger language. Haha.
The bonus for me is how easy it is to install and connect on your smart phone. I’d bought a couple of CCTV cameras before which were wired, but couldn’t get the app to work. This, I can get more of these cameras and have them on my phone easily together and all would be great. Am planning on buying more to cover more of my home.
Very happy with the product. One thing I’d recommend is buying some CCTV stickers as well and putting them around the house. A camera and sticker does make people think twice, I think because half the time if a criminal has intent but sees a camera, they don’t want to end up on the Internet looking stupid.

I bought this camera 3 montha ago and had been very pleased with it except for the fact that battery life was diminishing. I phoned the Amazon helpline to ask advice and was told to press reset and tuen the camera off before charging and that should sort the problem, not only has it not sorted the problem the camera does not work at all now. It takes and holds the charge, initially appears to turn on but will not connect to the internet and then turns itself off quite soon, despite being fully charged. I phoned Amazon again and was advised to contact ctronics direct, despite several email backwards and forwards no satisfaction and I get the impression that the replies are standard as they do not address my questions. I can’t send the camera back as I dropped it and damaged an antena some time ago, it had been working perfectly well ever since until this advice.
I have purchased three of these and now only one is working. Two were replaced by Ctronics which means that 4 have failed. In all cases this was after recharging when they wouldn’t restart despite using the reset button.
Pity because the cameras were good when they worked but clearly there was a design fault. I hate throwing things away but there seems to be no way of resurrecting them

For the money, you can’t really complain.
Once you install a micro SD card your ready to setup for use. App works very well once you know your way around it.
Good field of view, good camera quality and motion control. Motion control can take 5-10 seconds to activate but pretty much most camera do these days. If you buy more than one the multi-camera view is quite nice.
So far battery life has been good but we will see how a cold winter effects this.
Should note that these require a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network to work.

Seamless setup, great picture quality; enough to detect faces or number plates on HD quality, day and night. Motion detection is ok but after a few weeks of using can advise that the alert time can be delayed by 30sec-1min with a good WiFi connection, however detection range is great and is pinging at around 12-15m, night and day. Battery life is fantastic (yet to charge from purchase > full charge > install) and I find the app is easy to use and share, contrary to other reviews. Wouldn’t hesitate in buying additional of these cameras and plan to in future.
Highly recommend works flawlessly and the battery is brilliant. I charge it every 2 weeks but I don’t need to as it’s only dropped to 98%.

I’m very impressed with the camera. It’s very simple to setup. The app can be used for free, allowing you to use the app to view live and the sd card recordings. The motion alert sends you a notification and you can easily rewatch the cause of the alert. There are sometimes false alarms during bad weather at night though. The battery life is incredible, not sure how it manages it.
Tip: When viewing footage on the app, the default stream quality is SD, make sure to change this to HD for a much better picture.

Fantastic camera. Only issue I have is that motion detection could be made to activate further, we have it on the highest setting and you near enough have to be by the camera for it to activate. Night vision is fantastic on it and the picture quality is great. I will be buying another one for the rear of my property
I am so glad we chose this camera in the end. The night vision on it is so clear and the picture quality is amazing. It connects to our phone easily and puts our mind at rest knowing we can have instant access to our footage.
It is waterproof and easy to install. The batteries are easily charged via a USB port which saves us keep buying batteries!
My favourite part is it detects motion and will pick up on people as they walk past so as well as the perfect deterrent for unwanted guests, we can also keep an eye on any motion in our back yard. Really pleased with this camera!!

I brought this security camera to give me extra security when my Husband works away. I’m so impressed at the quality of picture, the night vision is very clear. You can view the camera footage on your phone and it also has a two way audio. It was really easy to install and the camera is water proof too. It also takes rechargeable batteries, which is really handy.
I’ve been wanting a camera for a while to protect our property, being a single parent it’s always worried me not being able to see outside. This camera has given me peace of mind and the picture quality is amazing. It was easy to install ourselves, you just connect it to an app and then mount it on the wall and you are good to go. The camera has a built in rechargeable battery so you do need to be able to access the camera to charge it, however I’ve been using it for over a month and the battery is still 3/4 full. Day and night vision is good.

Another great camera from ctronics. I now have three of their cameras fitted around the house. Two wired and now this rechargeable battery operated one.
I needed a camera that would fit down the side of the house, the problem I had was I couldn’t easily connect to an electrical supply. Problem solved, a battery operated camera that took me 10 minutes to get running and ten minutes to screw to the outside wall.
The app has changed from ctronics app to CloudEdge app. This seems to work well.
Picture quality is good and at present detects movement well.
A usb lead is provided to charge the batteries, which on average last approximately 1 month. I would recommend a long usb lead or a 240 volt extension with the usb lead connected to that to charge the camera. This saves you unscrewing the camera and bringing it into the house to charge. Works well for me.
The app works with the usual, motion detection, night mode, audio etc. Records to the cloud if you have a paid for service or records to sd card which can be viewed on your mobile phone. Alerts are also sent to your phone, giving you peace of mind when away from home. Play back is excellent.
For the cost this is a very good camera anyone could set up. I would highly recommend any of Ctronics camera.

I bought this camera to replace an old one, after I purchased a power adaptor and fully charged the camera its now working well, I just run it in detection mode at night to preserve battery life.

This CCTV system is brilliant it’s very responsive to outside noise, clear pictures and videos day or night, you can be anywhere in the country and still be able to see what’s going on at home. There is also an added bonus, you can talk through the camera.

The camera really was easy to assemble and can be used inside and out. Once set up you just download the app and you can watch through your phone. Another brilliant feature is the motion detector, which is great. The camera has a rechargeable battery which can be easily charged using the USB lead provided. You can also screenshot any moment of the live streaming which is so handy. Overall a great camera.
I’ve tested it indoor, while waiting for the proper memory SD card. So far night and day vision, motion are very good. I wonder how long the batteries will last before charging. It works well with the app. You can have constant wiev, take a snap shots; record the footage, replay, rewind.
The cameras arrived in a very sturdy box, which I think illustrates that it is a quality item, yet at a relatively low price. Initially I bought two to test, but increased their number after determining how good they actually are. Previously we had a different system supplied by Derricam, however, this system was difficult to install, requiring 13 amp mains power to operate the cameras, which in an 18th centre thatched cottage is difficult to install and potentially dangerous and therefore a qualified electrician had to be employed to do the wiring.
This item is much easier to install and simply requires as part of the initial set up to be close to a modem/router. Install the app, connect and it is ready to fix using the three screws and raw plugs to wherever is felt most suitable. We have ours set in strategic places covering all doors and windows. The one thing we did also purchase is a Mesh type wi-fi extender system which allowed us much better wi-fi coverage in our house, but also provided these cameras with a strong signal: we needed this as our house is old, has thick walls and solid oak flooring – this added an extra 138.00 to the cost of our system, but we needed it for improved wi-fi anyway – a modern home would not need it I suspect.
So what is good about these items?
1. Picture quality is good both during the day and night. It isn’t fantastic but what is very good is that the camera detects mainly human activity and so we rarely get an alert for anything other than human movement.
2. Sensitivity is adjustable and is far better than the Derricam cameras we have transferred to our outbuildings; we had to switch the notifications off on these as a moth would set them off. We have three external doors into our house and numerous windows and so after careful thought we installed our 6 cameras to cover all aspects. Our back door is the most used and therefore this camera sends us the most alerts BUT only when it detects a human. Our dog and cat doesn’t set off the alarm.
3. Battery life is good, as is the storage option which you can send to the cloud for a small fee, or as we do, store on a micro sd card which you install in the camera itself – transfer from the card to a mobile device is very easy. We use 32 Gb cards for the more remote/less accessed parts of our property and 64Gb for those with the most traffic. A card stores upwards of 28 days for our house.
4. Re-charging is an issue if you have installed the camera in a difficult to access place. We want a visible deterrent as well, so our cameras are visible, but are installed high up to prevent them being removed by a potential intruder. Rather than take the camera(s) down to re-charge it (you would have to re-position it) I have bought a 24,000 mah power bank and simply climb up a ladder, attach the power bank and let it charge the unit: simple and no re-positioning. With a low battery, a power bank will recharge up to 2 cameras.
5. In terms of facial recognition, I doubt if this unit is that good, however, in terms of detecting human movement it is great: particularly as intruders tend to wear hoodies now rather than a striped vest and eye mask.
6. We are an apple home and therefore only use iPad and IPhone – both of which receive notifications of movement and which allow us to use the intercom system – yes you can speak to the delivery man dropping off a parcel, but be prepared for a little bit of a lag between speaking and receiving a reply.
So overall well worth a 5 star review? Yes, very much worth 5 stars. At less than 70.00 each using a discount code, we have a comprehensive CCTV system which alerts us to any human movement in the vicinity of our home, is easy to install, has a good battery life, requires little maintenance, has the option of onboard or cloud storage without having to install a central box or hard drive and simply works. In total, our complete system along with hugely improved wi-fi cost less than 500.00 – which a wired version, professionally installed would have cost far more..
Combine that with the fact that is is easily-located or adjusted as necessary and I think that it is a bargain.
Just purchased another, two months on from the first. No issues at all to date and so far, even on the two very busy routes to our house, no need to re-charge. I would suggest that 3 months summer, two months winter is the likely capacity.

We opted for a second one for outdoors to keep an eye on our hottub area the camera does not disappoint we can link it up via our phones its completely wireless and we recieve alerts to our mobile phone when the camera detects movement. The picture quality is great, a long battery life, you are able to listen to everything happening outside whilst using the intercom to communicate outside too. The night vision is as clear as the day time vision which is amazing & you can link the camera to a few devices at once via their app. Brilliant camera and 100% worth the price.

A very comprehensive unit offering video and sound recording either initiated by the downloadable app or motion sensing by the camera itself. Quality of manufacture really good, with the unit feeling solid and substantial. As it is a rechargeable unit this, together with the WiFi connectivity, eliminates the need of any additional wiring. The fact that it is a rechargeable unit does mean you need to remove the camera periodically for recharging – so you will need to consider access to wherever you place it. However, the good battery life should mean that this is not too much of an inconvenience when compared to the units capabilities.
Very easy set up, easy installation, love that fact its battery operated, few hour charge and you’re good to go. Good battery life! Motion detection picks up everything! Advice you put it some place where people dont walk in its sight every 2 seconds as this will decrease its battery life as I have now moved mine, if you have a big drive ect this will be perfect for you!
I am absolutely delighted with this product. It was super fast delivery and the camera is very good. It is clear and got night vision. It is also waterproof. This is the second ctronics security camera I have brought as the first one is AMAZING! I brought this to over look the side of my property we’re my children’s play area is, so I have extra peace of mine when they are playing. Delivery was super fast as it came at 9am following morning. We had the first model and absolutely loved it and wanted one for the back of the house so went for this new version. The design is great it’s small and compact really easy to set up. It charged quickly and took less than 2 minutes to add to the app. My partner put it straight up and the WiFi reach is great as it’s on the back on the house and router is at the front. The picture quality is excellent and you can zoom in and out. Motion detection is also spot on and we get alerts direct to our mobiles. We have put a memory card in so it can also record just incase we need to look back. I would highly recommend this camera it’s a brilliant price for how great it is. No wires no messing round trying to install it all. We will definitely buy another for the side of the house
I have an Arlo system but find the add on cameras very expensive so wanted to expand my system in other ways. Whilst this camera isn’t compatible with Arlo, it works amazing as a standalone camera and the app it comes with offers the scheduling and motion activation that I use in Arlo.
In terms of video resolution, the camera far exceeds the quality I get from my Arlo system, you can see details such as faces and car number plates from a distance of 10m (and no doubt beyond, but not tested!)
The night vision is simply fantastic, it literally floods the garden with light, far beyond what I have had in other cameras.
Motion detection is reliable and has configurable sensitivity so you can suit what works best for your environment. You can also schedule when motion detective is active so that it comes on for example at night but not during the day.
Set up was as simple as downloading the app and scanning a QR code, super easy and away in minutes.
I’ve had the camera a few weeks now and it’s holding up well to the weather.
The speaker built into th camera could be a little louder, but it’s not a feature I’d use, although that said, it is adequate.
A fantastic product and I’ll definitely be looking to expand this system with more cameras in the future to replace my Arlo system as the cameras are far superior whilst remaining affordable.
No issues with the wifi strength, app still shows 55% signal at the end of my garden – not sure how long it is (it’s not big), but it is 6 fence panels long and the camera is at the bottom.
App was the winner here, very easy to use and set up to connect to wifi. Download the CloudEdge app from your app store and enter the wifi network details, it gives you a square QR barcode, point it at the camera (which came with 70% charge already which was nice) and the camera will automatically connect to the wifi network.
Insert MicroSD card if not using the Cloud to record via the app (I used MicroSD only).
Format the MicroSD card if needed, through the app’s settings, and that’s it – all set up in under 5 minutes.
Can recommend, of course been viewing regularly as its a novelty and no issues with app or signal.
I’ve uploaded a video of the recordings, however remember that Amazon compress the videos in reviews so much they always look poor, so its not a fair representation of the camera – it looks a lot better in real life – maybe check out a famous video ‘tube’ to see a better footage?
This camera is amazing. Such good quality, very easy to set up and install, and the app works great too! We are going to buy more to cover the back garden and side access too. It’s great to know they’ll all be linked up in the same app. The product arrived very fast and came in professional packaging with easy to follow instructions. 10/10 would recommended to anybody.
A battery powered camera that just seems to keep going and going and going and going and going………. I’ve had this running for over a week and the bettery still hasn’t ran out! Very very very impressed. It’s on 47% after a week!
Overall the camera offers great video quaility and a fantastic battery! The only downside is motion detection, it seems to be a bit poor on that but I put this down that I currently have it behind a window rather than ‘out in the open’. Whenever I’ve turned it around to test it’s detected the motion.
The app AppCloud performs well, the only downside is the ongoing notification in your notification bar. You can alter all the settings from the camera in the app, rename it, flip the image (if you mount it upside down), change the speaker volume etc….. it’s great. You can see the camera information too, IP address, MAC etc….
Motion detection is saved on the SD card, I’ve used a 64GB Samsung one, one wasn’t supplied so bare it in mind if you haven’t got one. All in all it’s a good camera and works well, the battery means it’s more portable and can be mounted anywhere you want it to be and don’t have to worry about cabling it in, setting up took 3 mins and that includes downloading the app and registering.
Perfect camera for anyone who doesn’t want to do any cabling, the battery charges fairly quickly too, my camera was at 87% when I got it and took less than an hour to top it up to 100%
I bought this to replace a wired camera that was unreliable, and only mediocre image. This one is solid, well built, and sleek. It took just a few minutes to get it started, identify the 2.4Ghz network, and then it recognized it and began functioning. Intercom is acceptable quality. Have yet to test its night vision. But I highly recommend it.

The build of the camera is study, waterproof and well designed. I never knew a night vision camera could be so good, it’s extremely clear in HD which is perfect for detecting faces or car registrations.
There are two settings on the motion detection, HIGH and LOW. When activated you get sent a notification to your phone and if you’ve purchased the cloud storage it will record from when the camera was first activated.
(Cloud storage – 3 day history/1 year subscription = $30)
Two way audio is also a great feature! It’s very clear and loud working well as a deterrent if your not at home and the motion detection goes off.
So the main reason I purchased this camera was the battery. I installed the camera 3 days ago from fully charged, it is now on 93% battery which is amazing! Charge time was extremely fast via the included USB.
If you don’t want to drill massive holes in your walls and have an ugly wire power cable down your walls then this is the camera!
I would highly recommend and will be purchasing another one for the rear of your house.
Purchased this for our stables and it is really good . Night vision is a lot better than I thought it would be. The battery life on it is really good. It last over 2 weeks for us and this it picking up us out moving about at least three times a day. The sound quality is okay but not the best . Easy to set up and install .
Good little wire free battery powered camera, dead easy to set up and you can install the anywhere you want with power cables to worry about.
Simple app interface with alerts for movement (includes a snapshot image).
I have not found any options for email alerts as yet but I do have other cameras that provide that function.
This will be going at bottom of the garden where I don’t have any power.

This camera is incredible. The quality and reliability is amazing I feel at ease knowing I can see who is at my door if i’m in the house on my own and I love how I get altered when someone’s close to my house too. I’m so happy i’d love one for the back of my house too!
First of all, delivery was quick and on time.

This camera has a built in battery, which can be charged with a USB plug, so no having to buy and change batteries. All you need is to download the app and connect it to your device. The app is fairly easy to use and the camera was able to be connected to mine and my partners phones, so we can both view at the same Time.
The camera also has sound, so you can hear and are also able to talk through the camera via your phone. The app can send you alerts when it detects movements and also saves screen shots of any movements. You can also record footage, but will need to purchase a separate sd card for that.
This camera has day and night vision and both pictures are very clear.

The camera is very good quality picture wise both during day and night vision.
The camera size makes it nice and discreet, easy to put and and remove off the bracket for recharging.
