Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAs an individual who relies on the convenience of a microwave oven for my daily cooking needs, I recently acquired the Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ Solo Inverter Microwave Oven. Overall, this microwave oven has proven to be a reliable and efficient addition to my kitchen. Here’s my first-person review based on my personal experience:

    Impressive Power and Speed:
The Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ Microwave Oven boasts a powerful 1000 watts, which allows it to handle cooking tasks swiftly. Whether I need to warm up leftovers or prepare a quick meal, this microwave oven gets the job done efficiently. It significantly reduces cooking times compared to lower-powered microwaves, saving me valuable time in my daily routine.

    Button Overload:
Similar to most microwaves on the market, the Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ is equipped with numerous buttons and pre-set functions. While some of these buttons prove to be useful for specific cooking tasks, I found that a significant portion of them are unnecessary or rarely used. This button overload can make the microwave appear daunting and complex for individuals seeking simplicity.

Quick Start and Easy Time Setting:
One of the standout features of this microwave oven is its quick-start function. With just a press of a button, the microwave starts immediately at full power, allowing for fast heating or cooking. Additionally, setting the cooking time for longer durations is straightforward and hassle-free, thanks to the intuitive control panel. This simplicity ensures that even those unfamiliar with microwave ovens can operate it with ease.

    Reliable Performance:
The Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ Microwave Oven consistently delivers reliable performance. I have encountered no issues with uneven heating or hot spots, ensuring that my food is heated or cooked evenly. This reliability gives me confidence in the oven’s performance and allows me to rely on it for various cooking tasks.

    Conclusion:
In conclusion, the Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ Solo Inverter Microwave Oven impresses with its powerful 1000 watts and speedy cooking capabilities. While it shares the common issue of unnecessary buttons, the oven compensates for this with its quick-start feature and easy time setting options. Its reliable performance ensures consistent heating and cooking results. If you’re in need of a microwave oven that gets the job done efficiently, I recommend considering the Panasonic NN-ST48KSBPQ as a reliable and convenient kitchen appliance.

I bought this microwave to replace a Belling microwave that lasted 40 years! I wanted a simple to use microwave that would last a few decades. I liked the idea of sensor cooking where you could press one button and start and the microwave would cook or reheat the food automatically. This microwave reheats soups, chilled meals or frozen meals or cold beverages really well without it being superheated and impossible to eat without burning your mouth. Cooking baked potatoes and other vegetables is so simple.
The only negative thing is that the labels for the buttons are not easy to read. However, I have learnt the location of all the key buttons in a few weeks. This is an excellent microwave. I just hope it lasts as long as my last one!

What can I say but it’s a good powerful microwave, with a big interior. Easy fits a full size dinner plate. My old Panasonic was a flat bed, but I’m glad I went back to a revolving turn table.
I’ve not explored all the settings yet, but no problems in operation this machine, and I’m 70 next birthday. Not too heavy to move around.
Further to above. Someone asked a question about how big a casserole dish, this will take. Well, my Pyrex casserole dish is 28 cm diameter by 14 cm tall with lid on, and it looks list inside it. There is ample room inside it.

    Good powerful, microwave.

In my life, I think I’ve now been through about five or six microwaves of various brands, and this is the best and most powerful microwave I’ve owned. Big interior, but not a huge footprint size on my counter top. The neat table of buttons on the control panel look very clean and organised. I like the little details like a light that turns on when you open the door (not just when you run the microwave), which helps you see whether your food is ready. The fact that it’s an inverter microwave means it defrosts things much more evenly than my old microwave, which would only “pulse” between 100% power and 0% power (to simulate a lower power setting). I also like the fact that the program numbers (for sensor heating and “chaos” defrosting) are printed on a label around the door opening, which saves me looking up their meaning in the manual.

Amazon did a great job of delivering it on time, and in perfect condition.

It’s been a good micro but I miss the confection oven for my baked potatoes . Otherwise good cooking. The door though has never felt sturdy enough but I’ve been careful with it and it has held together up to now ( hence late review ) I don’t really bother with the fixed buttons as I’ve tried a few and food needs more cooking/ defrosting so a waste of time

Looks good and seems well built. Have used it for a few weeks now and very pleased with it. It has way more features than I will ever use but I chose it for its generous capacity and stainless steel body, rather yhan plastic.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe inverter technology in this microwave model gives the ability to put power into the food at a constant rate set by the power settings. Non Inverter microwaves always blast full power into the food but pulsed on and off depeding on the power setting.
With this microwave the constant power at the set level does not over cook food at the edges where it might be thinner that elsewhere so food in this unit is cooked more consistently. For me this is an important feature.
Other things I like are the quick settings for reheating, for example warming up a cooled cup of tea/coffee can be done in just 2 button clicks.
The defost function works very well because of its smooth power input and if you bother to spend a bit of time understanding the settings menu then the recipe functions work well. If you have kids who just want to “nuke” food for fast access to feed hungry tummies (larder and fridge raiding teenagers) then they will quickly work out the fast paths to cooking using this microwave. It’s also nice and easy to clean the inside after they have legged it back to the sofa when they inevitably over nuke something and it splatters all over the place… Think of microwave eggs, boom!!!

The one thing I don’t like is the cooling fan on the rear, I think that bit is badly designed, it has a penetrating hum when in use and as far as I can tell does not shift that much air through the unit for the amount of racket it makes. Still the usability of the microwave outweigh that noise problem. A better fan design on the next model could fix that (I’m an engineer 🙂 ) Thats’s the only reason for a 4 star rating from me

We bought this microwave to replace our 10 year old Panasonic which was likely this ones earlier incarnation . Out of the box it has been easy for us to use, probably because we have changed like for like and the operation and menu system are very similar.
Cooks great and is quite in operation compared to our old one. One thing of note, this microwave has a stainless steel cover and front panel which shows up any and all fingerprints, smudges and marks and can be difficult to keep spotless if that sort of thing bothers you.
Other than that great machine which I hope will last as long as it predecessor.

I had one very similar to this for about 11 years – still worked perfectly but was looking a bit tatty. Was reluctant to replace as it was a fantastic microwave but saw this and thought it was worth the risk. I can say it was definitely a good call, this is great and so much more efficient than my old one, probably as it was so old! If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate!

The Size of this unit surprised me, it just looks very large however, its perhaps one of the easiest to use and if you need to change the power settings then again you can do it – especially if you find the 1000w a bit daunting. If like me its the first time with a 1000w, warming up your morning coffee can come as a little surprise on how little time it takes to refresh it. its Taken me some time to like the hulking chrome beast but its programmes, speed and ease of use has won me round. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGood price for what it is.
I have no idea why they make microwaves so damn complicated. You need a degree in engineering and electronics to understand this beast. The manual is comprehensive enough but I lost the will to live after the section insert the plug.
I worked out how to set the clock and eventually we settled for pressing two buttons to get the 800w mode and then the time and the go button to zap whatever you put in it
Everything else just foxes me and my wife who has difficulty getting the lid off the jam jar was no use at all.
Most foods give instructions for 750W and 900W microwaves and this does 800W and 1000W so you have to calculate it from a chart I downloaded on line.
Why cant they just make a microwave with a dial on it and simple buttons..Im not interested in a clock or Chaos defrosting whatever that is though I`m guessing its when you get guests who turn up for a dinner youve forgotten about and its all hands on the freezer food.
Theres a whole set of menus and sequences of buttons you can press with smart defrosting or cooking and the microwave does all the work.
Great machine for a chef extraordinaire who loves gadgets and can read instructions
Useless for anyone like me who wants to press go and stop to heat up my pot noodle type food .
I dont prepare cordon bleu cookery in it, I mean what chef does….. I simply want to quickly and easily zap my Asda Macaroni cheese to a temperature that makes it edible so I might buy a simple Tommy Tippett microwave when they are next on sale in Lidl and sell this one on.

The perfect addition to my busy working kitchen this Panasonic inverter replaces a similar Panasonic model of ten hardworking years. I use my microwave many times during the day and always as a cooking tool. It has a number of one button press options like ‘reheat’ and ‘vegetables’ with the minus or plus buttons for more control. I make sauces and cook vegetables, defrost, soften, keep warm, reheat and even warm plates. So many different uses, i would be lost without it. I have good normal ovens so a simple machine that just uses microwave power is perfect. It has a large oven which is a good thing and is reasonably attractive. Once again I am very pleased with my new one, the old one has gone into retirement by way of the garden shed where it will heat up lunches and cups of tea!

It is covered in buttons, but is actually very easy to use as a basic microwave. The extra buttons for types of food we have used less, however, the baked potato button is brilliant, put in potatoes, press 1 button it pings when it senses the potatoes are cooked through, so far perfect, no more sticking a fork in and it’s too hard or worse overcooked and rubbery! Perhaps I should try more of the individual product buttons

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI rarely heat food in the microwave at full power, since longer time on a lower setting yields a more evenly-heated result, so when looking for a potential upgrade to our current microwave and learning about the existence of inverter microwaves, I knew this was what I needed.

Having now bought one and having had time to try it out, I can confidently say that the inverter technology is not just a gimmick and definitely delivers the results I was looking for.

Aside from being able to heat food more evenly, the biggest improvement over a “conventional” microwave is the ability to ACTUALLY defrost food. The defrost power setting makes it possible to warm up frozen pastries without drying them out and to thaw out meat without half-cooking it.

I hope this microwave serves us for many years to come, but regardless, it’s going to only be inverter microwaves for me from now on.

Practical. Looks good, very powerful, once set up, it’s easy to use. We don’t use a microwave for cooking only for heating and defrosting food and this it does perfectly.

Bought this as my previous Panasonic Genius lasted over 30 years! This is good but not as easy to use.

As described, works well but control panel markings are very small and hard to read.

This fits on the worktop and takes a normal plate size. This was the most important feature for me. My parcel arrived within two days and this was Christmas week. Most impressed. I could complete dinner easily; as I had been cooking and freezing all December and wanted an easy day. It’s now February and I am still in love with my microwave. What more can you ask?

This does what it says on the packet. Most of my cooking is now in the microwave

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe first microwave oven did not arrive despite being marked as having been ‘handed to resident’ but Amazon came up trumps and replaced it without a problem. We are delighted with the oven. Improved version of our original with extra features but just as simple to use. Very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTray is 34cm. This one has an inverter like our last one so the power is fed constantly instead of off/on in a normal microwave. More expensive but worth it.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI already have one of these ovens and like it so much I have purchased this one to keep by me to replace the one I already have when it comes to the end of its life, which I don’t expect it to do for a good few years yet. I know this is a really silly thing to do but it is so frustrating when you can’t find the exact item to replace something that you really get on with. Manufacturers are always “improving” things and that’s OK, but sometimes they’re not as good as the original was. It was a good price too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had an older style Panasonic Microwave for years which never broke down. The only reason for change was all the details on the buttons had rubbed out.
This updated version seems just as good and plenty of room.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis model was chosen to replace an older ( 25 years) model that no longer works. Overall I am very pleased with the product. The dispkay is clear and controls are very tactile. I have used it now for several weeks every day and have to say it meets my requirements. Display easy to read and controls are intuitive.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersWe purchased this as a replacement to our previous Panasonic microwave which has been relegated to the utility room.

This microwave has very similar features to the previous one and the same capacity but a couple of hundred extra watts available in terms of power.

Being so similar to the previous microwave, it was ready to get to grips with and behaves in a predictably similar manner.

The manual isn’t up to much though and we’ve seen an image on the display that isn’t actually documented at all in the manual. In fact there’s no “orientation” section that describes the display at all which is an oversight in my opinion.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe main reason for getting this more expensive oven was to fit it into the kitchen unit where its 25-year old Panasonic predecessor sat. Fits a treat and works just as well as its illustrious forebear.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have just received it and have used it 3x now and it is a lot faster and easier to understand than our Russel Hobbs model that commenced rusting inside.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThe microwave looks fab and I was so excited when I unpacked it and plugged it in. Then it didn’t work but I’d already got rid of the packaging because I never thought for a minute it wouldn’t work. We raced back to the recylcying bank to try and rescue the box but within a 2 hour period, loads more cardboard had been deposited and we decided it was too big a risk to search.

So, we sent it back in a homemade box, including cardboard from ‘Who gives a crap’ loo roll and I was really worried that I might not get a replacement for not sending it back in the original packaging.

I can only recommend this company for first rate service. 🙂

It does what I want – I only need a simple machine so all the buttons on the front are surplus to my needs – I bought it for the size.

I bought this microwave to replace my previous old Panasonic combination microwave. Having realised that I never used the grill/oven etc – I chose this Microwave.
It is brilliant, does so much, though you do need to read the instructions first. Wish I had bought it before.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWe bought this to replace our old Panasonic which sadly died after many year’s service. I really wanted one with a touch sensitive control panel as they are so easy to keep clean but couldn’t find one with the other features I needed.

This microwave is a good size and has lots of really useful features such as automatic sensing. With this you can for example, put your veg in and press 12 and the micowave will cook it perfectly. The beaverage setting has been usd a lot too. It heats things very quickly and has a variable power output which is useful. You can also programme it to cook at one setting for a time and then continue cooking at a lower power output which I find useful. Also has a time delay. There are lots of other features which I haven’t explored yet.

The only thing I don’t like is the interior seems gloomy. Probably because it is coated with grey. (The old one was stainless inside). This coating, while easy to clean, could do with better lighting. This is my only niggle and is a small one as it doesn’t impact on how the oven works. Its just an aesthetic thing.

If this oven is the size you are looking for then I would definitely rcommend it.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersWe have had this microwave for a couple of weeks, it replaces an earlier Panasonic microwave that gave years of service before failing at Christmas
The microwave performs well and has cooked accurately. Care is required with certain settings, for example, the Porridge setting caused the porridge to explode all over the inside of the oven.
I do not like the number code that is shown for each setting. The original microwave had labels showing the setting so Vegetables was displayed instead of 13 (or whatever.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis is a Quality & Expensive looking Microwave – that deliver’s everything the description states! Bought this from another very well known high street & online Outlet in the Black Version this month for 10 cheaper + with a no quibble 2 year FREE guarantee. I would have bought this form Amazon, though the guarantee info was somewhat lacking off the description, and it would have taken longer to arrive even though I am a Prime Member. In addition, I always find Amazon’s returns difficult due to they ‘keep your money’ until they have received the item which can take week’s to receive back! Anyway this was bought to replace a Russell Hobbs Microwave which went wrong just after the 12 month guarantee! I have to say, this New Panasonic Microwave with the Genius Auto-Reheat/Cook is brilliant – no more looking in to see if anything has spilled out – so really no need for a stainless steel interior as nothing over boils. All the other programmes ensure the same ‘faultless’ cooking again – no over boiling spills which is superb, so I do not need to clear any spills or splatters up – as long as you cover the food and make the required vent holes in the cling films so it can ‘Sense’ the cooking requirements which itself adjusts to the steam emitted, and also under the weight cooking pre-programmed choices. We have never eaten any veg that tastes so good when cooked using the Pre-Programmed Vegetable Programme – simply yummy – full of taste, which is lost when boiling on the hob in water! 10 Stars from Hubby & Me!

Bought this in the Black Version - It Looks Expensive!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAlmost the same as the 15 year old Panasonic it replaced, except the display doesn’t scroll words like the old one , it just displays numbers you have to look up on a chart behind the door. Strange. Feels a lot more solid than the Samsung microwaves we checked out. Looks smart as well.
