Had a bit of difficulty setting the thing up as my cat was very unsure about its loud clicking when operating. Easy to install otherwise as it replaced a manual version. At least my cat can only get in now and not a very bold stray.

Abdolutely thrilled by this cat flap. Not expensive but great quality. Cat was just so easy to tune in with the help of some treats. Extremely sturdy and big cat from over the road can no longer acccess my house, bully my cat, eat his food and scent mark. It looks great too. Had to get a neighbour to install it as I’m 73 year old disabled lady, but it was very straightforward. I love the way it gives a little click when he’s outside and walks past it….getting ready to let him through..
Maybe one thing I would highlight more, (for folk like me), is why you have to take the batteries out and put back, once it’s installed. We couldn’t understand that instruction, till I asked my neighbour how other cats with a chip couldn’t just use it too. Ahhh, the penny dropped.
    Regards Eilee

every year we get four foxes and every year the four foxes destroy the cat flap. NOT this year and the foxes were proper desperate because all the take aways turned into deliveries and all the street waste dropped. They still try every night like the Aliens trying to get into The Med Lab but so far defences are holding

Easy to install (especially if you get your son-in-law to do it!) but it did take a few days to get the cat to use it. Treats eventually worked. Best thing is I now know it’s my cat rather than next door’s cat who has eaten the food!

Love this cat flap, so does the cat because if he’s being chased by another cat he can dart in knowing no other cat can. This is our 2nd one as we have just moved house.

My cat is a touch in the thick side and quite portly. It took him around 2 months to work out how to use the flap and because of his size it’s still a struggle. Initially the issue is the noisy click when the cats chip activates the lock, my cat just used to recoil. Once he got used to that it has been difficult for him to coordinate his limbs to get through, he got stuck in the middle quite a lot but now he’s worked out how to get past that. It was a long road. However the neighbours cat which is lithe and skinny jumps through in one go. I had to have the door cut professionally and the flap fitted. The only annoyance is at night when the mechanism activation click wakes me up because it can go off 3-5 times as my cat is trying to get in.

    Works Well

Hi, we brought this because we had manual cat flap on the inner door and a microchip version on the outer door. Our new puppy, kept escaping through the inner door cat flap and then out of the microchip Petsafe cat flap.
We have now replaced the inner door one, with this microchip version and fitted it in reverse, so that puppy can no longer escape and the cat is fre to go in and out.
Early days, but it looks like the answer. It took only a short time to setup and programming was easy.
The other good thing is that it feels well made, definitely not flimsy.

I bought this particular brand of cat flap purely because it was on offer.
Since I had a brown one already (another brand) in a white PVC door, which was being moved elsewhere, it seemed logical to pick the white one so it didn’t stand out as much.
Luckily the hole from the previous flap was only marginally smaller so it was easy to cut it a little bigger for this one.
As we soon found out however, the similarities between the 2 brands are fairly minimal.
The other brand requires my cat to put her head into the tunnel to activate the catches, whereas this one appears to have some sort of radar for whenever she passes within 10 foot of it. That wouldn’t be a problem if A) she didn’t like to sit and look out of it without actually going out & B) it wasn’t the noisiest cat flap on earth.
All night all we can hear from the kitchen is CLUNK, CLICK as she goes anywhere near it or like most cars, takes 10 minutes to decide if she is coming in or not. And this seems to be going on all night. The whole thing is so noisey and I can’t imagine why since the other brand isn’t.
Thankfully I haven’t had the battery drain problem others have reported but I’m wondering if the fact it lights up every time something. Goes anywhere near it is what’s causing the battery issues for most people. I’ve no idea what it’s doing since my leg clearly doesn’t have a microchip (well, unless I’ve been implanted and didn’t know it) so I wouldn’t expect it to light up when I go near it to open the door, but it does. Granted, it doesn’t CLUNK CLICK at me, but it’s doing something if it’s lighting up.

So, as far as microchip cat flaps go it’s working fine. It was quick and easy to set up and so far no issues with its operation.
Just wish there was some way to make it quieter as I’d never realised how indecisive my cat was until we got this as now watching TV or trying to sleep comes with an background soundtrack if the cat is anywhere near it.

I’m not sure if this is normal or if I got a duff one since no one else has really mentioned the noise, but unless you have had previous microchip flaps to compare it too maybe people assume this is normal?

So 4 stars as it’s works fine but losing 1 star for the noise of operation.

Although this cat flap works to keep neighbourhood cats out, which is why we bought it, the batteries drain within 7 – 10 days. According to the description, batteries should last 6 months to a year. I contacted Petsave who advised me to use top rate batteries. The only difference this made was that I had to pay over 3.50 for 4 batteries which were flat after 10 days. This is the second cat flap we have had. I returned the 1st one after a month because I thought it was faulty but the replacement is exactly the same. I intend to return this one and will replace it with a different make.

Getting the right cat flap to replace an existing non-locking one is MUCH more difficult than your think! It would probably be easier to install through a wooden door but we don’t have a suitable door so it had to go through the outer double wall of the house.

Great idea with the lock feature, as this saves me loads of money because I am not feeding the stray cats that used to sneak in and steal the food.

Very easy to install on a normal wooden door, special kit for glass is available.

I use rechargable batteries and these seem to last a month. There is a light that turns red when the batteries are getting low.

Fun getting the chip reader and cat aqainted, use treats as a bribe.

This was easy to install through our front door.

I have 3 cats and they are using this with ease. Tge unlock/lock sound did scare them to start with. Now they are used yo it.

You can have as many cats as you want to use it just by setting up the cats microchip.

I did have a cat not mine trying to get in the flap but he was unable to as his chip was not registered.

Also because it locks when it is windy the flap doesn’t blow open like others I’ve used in the past.

It is a bit noisy with the mechanism tge clicking of the release system. If the cat doesn’t go in straight away then it relics.

I get through batteries quickly but that could be because I have 3 cats. I have started to use recharge ones now to keep the cost down.

Excellent product, I have four cats and they are able to come and go as they please. I do not know how long the batteries will last though.
Setting the chip reader was very easy, we’ve not had any other cats being able to enter the house.
I needed the flap to work in a cavity wall in the conservatory so it was necessary to purchase several extenders for the wall to create the tube. These were fairly expensive for what they are, a simple piece of plastic.
Drilling through the wall was not that easy and a hammer drill was required. If your good at diy and have the correct tools you’ll be fine to fit it yourself.
I do find the outside part of the flap rather strange as you can see into the end of the tunnel, there is no flap on the outside. The flap you see on the advert goes on the inside. The flap has a large surround it not the smallest on the market but the look is ok.
    I would however recommend.

I recently purchased and completed a poor review since then I have been in contact with petsafe and the unit was at fault and they replaced it, my battery life has improved so far. Just a note for you , yes it has a loud click, It’s not completely draft proof around the locks, they advise certain batteries, and be aware if installed in pvc doors and panels if you have a thin sheet of metal for security/ strength this could also impact its operation. I’m content now based on its price point and functionality my cat got used to the click and comes and goes and so far no other cats have been in.

I bought this model because I thought it would be easy to swap for the ordinary pet safe flap. Unfortunately the screw holes were all of differing places so needed drilling again. That said, it fitted in the previously cut hole fine.
Works ok but takes a second or so to open and my cat took a little while to get used to it.

We had a similar product before, which we had to replace. Went with this brand this time and found thoughtful design features. For example, the lock to get out does not have to be activated by the chip. This makes sense, since there is no need to. Our cats love sitting near their cat flap just looking out. In the previous product that meant the lock activating, then timing out, then activating – ad infinitum. We were getting annoyed with the “click-click-click-click….” you get the picture – while kitty was staring out the window.

The manual lock know is so much easier to use also.

Fitting is easy and they even supply a cutting template.

We (humans and cats alike) like this one.

Finally i can keep all those cats away from my house. Its been nightmare to figure out what to do. And Microchip seems to work well. Been using it over week so far. Battery works, my timid cat got used to clicking sounds almost too ( she still take a time to get through ). She is not microchipped but got her collar of here too to match it. Only difficulty I had it was very difficult to install it. So had to use hammer To put it in place. Probably my fault but after fighting for over 40 mins…….. EDIT: Nope this does not work with super smart cats which they pull door towards them with a claw . Had to return this one and got myself Dual Scan which is difficult for cats to outsmart and nothing will pass by

I’ve had this cat flap for 7 months now, wuith one battery change so far. Our cat got used to it fairly quickly and keeps the local tom cat which has been bullying her out succesfully.

The only problem came when our cat had kittens (due to lockdown). When the kittens reached 7 weeks they were big enough to try to follow the mother out of the flap. For some crazy reason there is no setting to only allow chipped cats out. So today, two of the kittens followed the mother out into the garden and couldn’t get back in.

Apart from this kitten issue it’s been a great product and a lifesaver for the mother cat.

Great for keeping a rogue tom cat out of our house after a move, which had been upsetting our cats. It has more of a tunnel opening, which took one of our cats a bit longer to get used to as they’d been used to a flat panel, but a small price to pay. Programming the catflap was easy and remained saved, even after the batteries dropped out, which was a relief because we didn’t want to have to catch them all again. Good value for money. Can’t comment on durability because I haven’t had it that long yet.

There were a couple of things I wish I’d known such, as the fittings are designed to be screwed in from the back. This proves tricky if the cat flap is in a wall with a 30 cm tunnel! Anyway, with some serious glue it’s been stuck in place and the wall is more likely to come down before the cat flap!

The instructions helpfully suggest programming the microchips before installation, which I did. However, somehow it forgot them in the process of fitting/sticking the cat flap to the wall. Reprogramming seemed impossible when the button is inside and I was trying to force a VERY reluctant cat through a tunnel from the outside!! My attempt was spectacularly unsuccessful.

Anyway, eventually I called PetSafe support for some help and the assistant was brilliant. Very friendly, patient and systematic. At first she was concerned there was too much metal in the wall but managed to rule this out with a quick test. She suggested I got the cat flap to relearn the chips (I have two furry friends). I was not looking forward to the prospect until she revealed that programming can be done from the inside. While it still cost me some blood and some Dreamies, this was a much more successful method and now my cats can come and go as they please. Little does he know, but my neighbours cat is about to start a diet!!!

This cat flap has helped loads with straying cats from the neighbourhood. Only draw back is that when it picks up the microchip and unlocks it scares my cat as its a loud click. So 1 darn cat took 2 weeks to use it and the other one refuses to come in it but happily go out of it. and it locks after a few seconds so if the cat is distracted she has to sit and wait for it to stop locking and unlocking. But when the weather changes hopefully will all be great.

Bought to replace the magnetic version as our cat kept losing his collar. It was a straight swap (same size hole in door). The two screw holes were in a slightly different position, but far enough to allow the screws to bite. I bought this for 44, it is a little pricey, but it means that our cat no longer requires a collar. The device easily recognised the cat’s microchip. The locking mechanism is quite loud so if you have an active night cat, be aware.

Installing it was easy, if your exchanging it from another cat flap, which was what I did. it does stick out a bit on the outside but cat soon got used to it. You must check cats chip is compatible with flap (do online at Petsafe) And you may have to force your cats head into flap to get flap to register chip,(ours did not seem to mind). Now we can go out and only our cat ,can eat her food ,sleep in her bed. Its a must buy for cat owners.

  60. FranKKEsgc says:

This was straight forward to install, seems robust and works well. However I did not thoroughly read the details of the product so there were some surprises and extra expense that I did not expect.

    1. I installed the flap in a double glazed glass door. Apparently for this the flap requires an extra “adapter”. Which is a larger plastic surround. To be honest I can’t see why this is needed, but I got one as instructed.

    2. As the flap is meant to work with “chipped” cats, I should have realised that it did not come with a chip. I had to buy a chip
To hang on the cat collar.

    3. I rather naively thought that I would be able to cut the hole in the double glazed door myself. Not so. I had to order and install a new panel for the door with the required hole included.

If you are installing in a double glazed door and using the adapter, be careful when installing the screws. I found myself screwing though the external plastic and stopped just in time to avoid making a hole.

Although I am happy with the product. it turns out the electronic cat flap seems to have been a waste of money. I purchased it because before getting our cat, another cat would take every opportunity to get into our house, so I assumed that once a car flap was installed it would continually come through. As it turns out the presence of our new cat seems to be enough to deter it, so I have not used the chip at all.

I can not comment on the installation as the glazing company fitted it for me. It is easy to use, but register the chip before it is installed is the biggest peice of advice i took, as I chased my cat round the dining room trying to get her head in the hole while keeping the button impresses, queue the Benny Hill music!
If you are buying it for a double glased unit make sure you buy the surround as well.

Easy to install in plastic rear door. It took the cats a couple of weeks training to get used to the microchip activating the ‘clicking’ on the cat flap.

Did not say on description or instructions that if cat doesnt enter flap at correct angle, chip will not be recognised.
My cat gets out ok but due to a small step on outside making her body ast an angle when trying to get back in, it doesn’t register the chip so she cant get back in. Subsequently she now has to use it on the manual mode.
This means other cars can use it too. If id known that would be issue at point of purchase i would have bought a cheaper manual option as that is cheaper than making the step bigger which is what customer service suggested.

Perfect catflap does what its supposed to do. One of my cats was a bit put off by the bleep as she entered but she did eventually get over that but to encourage her I did take the batteries for a couple of days, my other cat was fine from day one.

Easy to set up, quick to program. On the downside it’s very loud when it catch opens and scares the cats.

The cat flap is good to only allow your pet through, the only downside is it makes quite a loud click noise when the cat activates the unlock, which startles my cat so she is wary to go through.

My cat was scared of the clicks initially but he has got used to them now. It’s a relief not to have unwanted cats coming in the house and was surprisingly easy to programme. My brother installed it so I can’t be too accurate on this but it seemed straight forward. We used the extra adapter as it’s installed in glass.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter experiencing another cat gaining entry through our cat flap and eating our cats food, I decided to look for an alternative cat flap that would just let our cat in.. I read reviews about this cat flap and decided to order one.. It came within 2 days, which was good and was well packaged. .. (Doesn’t come with batteries). I read instructions first and says you need to first activate it with your cats micro chip.. This was easy to do and recognised our cats chip.. Now came hard part replacing our old cat flap with new one.. It comes with a template which is good.. The new cat flap was slightly bigger than old one, but we eventually sorted it out.. Now came the waiting game for our cat to use it.. It makes a clicking noise when it picks up your cats micro chip which activates the locking mechanism to open so your cat needs to use their head or paw to push it open.. It has a small green light which comes on too when activated and also tells you when batteries need replacing.. Our cat is slowly getting use to it and thankfully no more unwanted visitors eating her food.. Would highly recommend this product..

    Brilliant cat flap

    Eats batteries for fun.
    Takes 4AA
Having to change them once every 2 weeks.

    Even expensive batteries…

So after complaining to PetSafe about poor battery life (24hrs on some cheaper batteries) they sent me a replacement unit…. new one won’t read my cats microchip, so having to put the old one back in, good job its easy to swap over.

Think iam going to have to bulk Buy AA batteries

Have had this installed now for around 3 months. Not had any issues with it at all. Can’t rate the fitting as I had to get a glazier to cut and fit a new piece of glass as the flap is in a fully glazed door, and they installed it into the glass before installing the new glass. So easy to set up, just popped some treats in the outside gap and pressed the learn button and instantly picked up Ollie’s microchip. Works perfect every time, and Ollie took only about a week and a half to get used to using it (he was always let in and out of the door so sometimes stands at the door waiting for it to open). People are taking about the battery life not being good, but I bought decent Duracell batteries and they’re still working well. I can only presume that the other reviews that are saying battery life it rubbish is because they’re using cheaper batteries. Would recommend.

We were being plagued by a neighbouring cat who was coming into our magnet controlled cat flap, eating our cat’s food and terrorising him. We had our cat chipped and put in this cat flap which took a little ingenuity to fit into the space of the old flap as it is a slightly different shape and this solved the problem.

We’ve had this installed for three weeks now and so far so good. Can’t comment on the installation as it was installed by a professional as they manufactured our new UPVC black door but it looks good and cats have got used to it quickly.
It clicks to unlock when the cats approach it so they can come inside but it takes a second to read the microchip and then click so cats had to get used to waiting that one second! If they don’t enter within about four seconds it clicks again and locks. It will then click again to unlock again if cat is still stood by cat flap.
It doesn’t need a micro chip for the cats to go out as they/any pet can go out through this cat flap but do need a microchip to come back inside.
Pleased with this purchase and can easily be locked manually from inside. Must admit, we thought it used the microchip reader for pets to go out as well as come in. If we had realised we probably would have shopped about for a slightly different version as we are considering getting a small puppy in the future so would have been useful for then.
Set up was quick and easy, just add batteries and pop it into set up mode and hold cat flap to cat and the small light will let you know once it’s read microchip. We set up each cat one after the other with no trouble although I would recommend doing this before you install it to your door for ease.

This is great. Completely resolved the issue of other cats coming into the house and now out cat is much happier. It took a few goes for him to get used to the magnetic lock sound when he when near the fall but he soon got used to it.

It’s a bit fiddly to install. Mainly lining the screws up and trying to not lose thread on the screw head but depends what material you are screwing through. All in all a Greta piece of kit that works perfectly.

Connecting the cats chip to the device was also easy and instant.

Very easy to install very easy to program. Our cat is very skittish it took a while for him to get used to a new cat flap. But we had to.. a neighbours cat was terrorising our cat in our own home.. this was the solution. Good price too..
It took our cat several days to get used to it. Because it clicks very loudly when opening and locking. Also after unlocking it locks back very very quickly (something like 5seconds) he was unsure and apprehensive and smelling etc during this time cat flap would lock again, which meant when he tried to push it was locked back.. I wish there was a way of extending the seconds once it’s unlocked, or even better when the correct chop was around it’d stay unlocked… because this whole locking clicking thing was spooking him and he was running away. And once they’re afraid it’s very difficult to convince cats that this is actually ok… he ended up staying indoors and getting very depressed . So be prepared for some lengthy training sessions if your cat is skittish like mine. A bolshy insisting not giving up cat can start using it straight away though..

I think this one should be really reviewed by the cats and not me! I had a different electronic catflap which made my cats a bit stressed when it came to me unlocking it in the morning and locking it at night. It took some time to do.

This one has a 1 second lock/unlock mechanism. Just rotate and its done. The radio sensor picks up the signal from the cats chip by proximity which makes it even quicker. Many in the market require the cat to stand beneath a sensor or even be so close to the sensor they need to stretch in awkward positions. This cat flap is just natural. Just recommended.

Apart from the loud clicking of the lock opening every time the cat tries to come in or go out, it works absolutely great!! East to fit. Cat loves to sit by it watching the world go by outside.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this in a hurry after we’d suffered a home invasion from a neighbourhood cat whilst I was out, leaving my two very much on edge.

Installation was quick and easy, and programming it to accept the girls’ microchips was as simple as holding a button down for five seconds, and then getting them to peer into the tunnel. They’re cats, so that was the easiest job in the world.

One word of advice: if, like me, you don’t tend to read the instruction booklets before getting to work, please bear in mind that it’s far easier to get the microchip recorded before you install the flap. Don’t make my mistake in installing it and then realising that you need to take it out again. Please also bear in mind that it needs four AA batteries, but doesn’t come with them.

I bought this to replace an older model by the same manufacturer. A little modification was required to the door as holes not exactly lined but overall very happy. Looks great and works well, very easy to setup with cat’s microchip.
Keeps out other cats which I’m pleased about!

Bought this to replace older style petsafe catflap, which used to read cats micro chip. This new one is so much better. You can control it with a turn of the switch, rather than trying to remember how many times you need to press a button and hold it down for. Also, no longer has stupid roof part, which got hit and broken off a few times. Runs on battery rather than mains, which I thought would be an issue, but the light will flash red when batteries need changing. Definitely improved. Would highly recommend if you dont like other peoples cats in your home.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI had to train my shy feral cat for about three weeks before she felt comfortable with this cat flap. (Thank heaven for dreamies an excellent training aid). The main issue is the clicking noise the locking mechanism makes.

Set up was easy, a dreamy on the cat flap, cat ate dreamy and cat flat registered her chip. But then every time she went near the cat flap the lock clicked open and shut which frightened her.

Took the batteries out and propped the door open and she stared to use it. Gradually lowered the door so she had to push it open.

Finally switched cat flap back on and gave her lots of dreamies to get her over the fear of noise. Initially had to coax her in when the cat flap clicked unlocked (more dreamies)

Am pleased to say she now uses the cat flap quite confidently and I’m happy because she has a secure place of her own that other cats cannot enter.

Very pleased with this. We were replacing an old cat flat and the new one fitted in perfectly other than the screw holes were in a different place so had to get the drill out! the Microchip chip feature was easy to set up on the cat and it has worked perfectly.

There were mixed reviews when I purchased this but as it was so reasonably priced I thought there was nothing to lose! Some of the complaints had been about the flimsy locking system which now seems to have been addressed. My cat got the hang of it pretty quickly and I’ve not had any rogue cats come in since it was fitted. My only feedback is the flap is bigger than the previous one and my cat sits there for hours looking through it like a window, looking out for any cats on his territory which gets him stressed. I may have to block his view…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this Petsafe cat flap to replace a previous model which had failed (after 4 years) to read our cats microchip, rendering it useless.
I bought the same manufacturer again In an attempt to make it fit the existing hole in the wall. “Which it did with minimal effort” The new updated model is battery powered (therefore no mains power required.)
This model is so easy to program “it took less than a minute (with minimal anxiety to our cat) and was working immediately.
As it is basically the same dimensions and colour ( but minus the original outside canopy) so our cat accepted it with minimal hesitation and began using it.
I feel this cat-flap is an improvement on my previous model and it’s redesign and simplified operation is very family friendly.

New assertive cat next door, and ours is timid, so decided to fix the cat flap before we had an extra visitor…. Had the same brand make before, but manual. This one fitted the same door-hole, so no problems there. Don’t know about battery life, have only had it a month – but there’s a light showing the battery’s functioning. Was a bit concerned it would take my cat some time to get used to the new flap and its ‘click’ – but it took about a day. I think (? how do I know?) she likes the see-thru clarity of the door – just like a clear window. The last flap just had a slot which was clear, and she used to sit there and stare thru that – with this one she can see thru the whole window. And instant microchip recognition, not any problem. Very pleased with i

This was very quick and easy to program with my cats microchip, and she uses it with no problems at all. The sensor easily picks up her microchip as she approaches, I’m very impressed.
The different locking options are great too.
Keep in mind if you are buying this to replace an old petsafe cat flap that the screw holes may be positioned slightly differently. I bought this thinking it was the same dimensions as my very old petsafe cat flap and had the same basic shape so would fit like for like. This wasn’t exactly the case and I had to make the existing screw holes bigger so the ones on the new cat flap would match up. However, there is no visible gap, the cat flap is secure and covers the holes completely, was just a bit of a pain.

Got someone to fit so cannot comment on how easy it is to install. Good value for money compared with other sites. Only downside it did take a while for our cat to get use to the noise of the locks going up and down as they are quite noisy when they activate. Now she is used to it the cat flap keeps out all the local riff raff that was sneaking in and eating her food.

Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersWell, 9 months on after my first review (which in honesty was too soon) my cat has now got used to the cat flap, its noises an all, she comes and goes as she pleases & no other cats get in…..yet.
I’ve not given it 5 stars as it eats batteries up like no tomorrow, they last about 18-19 days…..Duracell only lasted 25 days. Also, sometimes, not all times, when she comes back in, the flap does not click behind the tabs properly, therefore allowing a cheeky cat to potentially come in, but other times it closes properly. I have carefully sprayed a bit of WD40 on the hinges, but see no difference.

Golden Review Award: 97 From Our UsersBought to replace the non- chip PetSafe deluxe cat flap. Thought it would just be a simple case if taking one out and putting the new chip flap in. No! Unknown to us Anglian cut a round hole in the back door so, although this wasn’t apparent with the old door, the new one is slightly smaller in dimensions so we now have a gap on one side
(See photo). I’ve ordered the adaptor which it says is for windows and walls but hoping it will sort this problem out too Having said that it was easy to fit (except for the above problem) and easy to programme the cats chips in. One has used it and is ok. The other hasn’t yet – the overall surface area of the chip flap is smaller than the non-chip one and the second cat is bigger so i’m a bit worried he might not fit! Luckily we’ve had him on a diet so …..fingers crossed! We bought the chip cat flap to keep another cat out who comes in in the early hours and causes problems with our two. This third cat is huge so I suspect he won’t fit through the door even if he was able to open it. Mind you this third cat has been known to break cat flaps to get in or out before so…watch this space UPDATE: both cats have now used it and we thinknit’s Keeping the other cat/s out. The adaptor arrived yesterday and seems to have solved the size problem pretty simply. Phew! Update 12 months on – great cat flap now working well. Both cats now using without issues. Unwelcome cat kept out. Circular panel solved the problem and is sue and water tight around the edges. Would recommend

Used to have a magnetic Petsafe catflap but some neighbourhood cats started to get in (also with magnets on their collars) so upgraded to this. It’s excellent, took no time to fit because the hole is the same size as the old staysafe one – even the screw holes. Thought it may be difficult to get the cats to program it but they really don’t need to come too near at all, so we just held it near them and it found their chips immediately. When it locks and unlocks it does make quite a clicking noise but the cats got used to it very quickly. Overall, very happy indeed.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersI had a petsafe manual catflap before and changed today for this super fancy one. Wasn’t too sure the size would be the same but it actually was, so pretty easy to swap with the old one. My cat is scared of noises so he is not that confident in going in very much as there’s a clicking noise when the catflap unlocks but I’m sure he will get used to it eventually. I think it’s great!!! Just hope the battery will last long!!!
