Had an electrician to install it but it was a quick job. It’s a lovely feature and gives a sense of security because it comes on when anyone is near my house (which is of course what it’s supposed to do!)

Very easy to install, gives off a good light but that’ll be more down to the bulb used. Even got delivered here in Spain as Amazon.es prices for this sort of thing are extortionate!

I have given 4 stars for motion detection only because I cannot find how to adjust the length of time it stayed in for. I would like to extend this. 5 stars for ease of installing.1 star for brightness no bulb was supplied so I had to purchase one. Not a great deal but you choose the brightness when you purchase the bulb

This is a great light, and is fairly easy to install, depending on what light it was replacing. The motion and timing that the light is on works well and is easy to adjust. I have to add though, that the instructions were rather poor, and neglected to make clear how you adjust light/timing.
Another negative was that although the light is a Philips, it is very clearly marked ‘made in China’
    All-in-all 9/10

Good for placing on wall beside door. I was looking to place it above the front door so in the end the housing blocked some light below and couldn’t get bright enough clear bulb. In end I sprayed the underside of the lid with white paint and it hugely increased the amount of deflected light below it. Motion detector good as well. Only downside is you cant force the light to come on when you turn the switch off and on quickly. Only works when motion is detected.

I bought one, liked it and bought another. It’s a good looking light. And once installed easy to configure ( the controls are little screw heads at the side of the sensor, this is not clear from the instructions, but is on the box of you look closely). Not super easy to install in that I found the bolts that hold it together are not quite long enough once it’s wired up inside. I had to use my own slightly longer bolts both times.

This is my second one of these lights. Reasonably easy to install with plenty of room for wiring.
My only gripe would be the lamp front face fixing capped screws are just about long enough to be able to tighten correctly which is quite fiddly for sausage fingers like mine.

Fitted this months ago but was not going to write a review until it has lasted. Works well, looks good and most important has replaceable Led lamps. Low power use and you get to choose brightness. This replaced an all in one lamp which failed to light after 13 months ie just out of warranty. The whole unit had to be replaced. Phillips is a name I thought I can trust. Correct so far.

As others have said it’s a great light motion sensor works well for its size but the coating on the light corrodes within a year of use had to paint it otherwise it’s good. I first thought it was made of plastic as it feels plasticity but it’s some sort of alloy under the coating that reacts with weather. Would buy again at the right price.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOverall a well made product. Looks fantastic with the Amazon Basics 7W E27 LED bulb. Following the other reviews I added some mastic to the PIR wiring to minimise the risk of any water ingress and associated damage in future. I also taped the rear bolts in place prior to mounting the back plate in place to make it easier to fit the light fitting. This light has replaced a simple up & down light fitting and does a far better job in lighting up the front driveway of the house.

    Would recommend.

Philips myGarden Creek Outdoor Wall Light with Motion Sensor is an overall great product in regards to quality, price and installation ease.

It would have got a full 5 star rating if the product actually included some wall screws and plugs and also a manual which had more in depth information about setting the “timer” and “ON duration”
Whilst trying to adjust these 2 setting the turn knob seems to do absolutely nothing as you could spin it round and round.

Though works great out of the box I wish it could be adjusted.

Easy to fit and lid is designed to be easily removed as it screws from underneath so bulbs are easy to swap. On many other outdoor lights of this type surprisingly the lid is attached above which makes bulbs much harder to replace.

Decent outdoor security/visitor light. Obviously not super quality at this price, but seems robust enough, and the Philips name gives a bit of confidence. There are cheaper ones from Chinese brand names, but “you gets what you pays for…”

As mentioned by others, it is a bit of a faff to install single-handedly, up at a height. I managed it, but there are some very small screws which I recommend you remove first and place in a pot. I lost one but luckily had a similar sized one spare.

I ran a ‘twin core and earth’ power cable down the external wall, branched off from the waterproof junction box of another existing security light (I didn’t drill straight through from inside the house into the back of the base unit as the instructions suggest – far too much work and mess for my skill level!) In order to do this, I scraped a shallow horizontal channel in the mortar between bricks, which allowed the cable to run under the back of the base unit. This is better than running the cable in a vertical channel from above, as it would have a greater risk of water entering the base unit.

I used a Philips LED lamp, which looks like an old traditional filament lamp.

It’s been up for 4 months now over the winter, and is still working fine and looks good when lit. Touch wood!

Had a few issues setting the darkness for when it comes on at night but I found turning the dial with the sunlight on it all the way anti clockwise as a good start then I can adjust it back to suit otherwise it comes on during daylight hours when triggered. There were no instructions for this but for the price you can’t really moan. All in all very impressed.

For the price, this is a decent lamp. Was fairly easy to do a swop over with an existing lamp. The only let down for me is the lamp comes on at all times of day and night – whenever anyone passes. It doesn’t seem to operate on a darkness only basis (the instructions provided were not at all good on explaining the settings, so lots of trial and error – and patience- needed with this). Would I buy it again? I’d Probably look around for one with a better sensor – and better instructions!

This is a good quality product, very well made, and looks the part. In all good value for money.
It is easy to install and the instructions are good enough even for the a novice DIYer to do themselves.

I did look though the questions and reviews before buying, but not deep enough. This light has adjustable sensors for Light/dark – in that when the sensor is active and will light, so you can easily set it to be a dusk to dawn security light. It also has a sensor for the time the ight stats on once he motion sensor is triggered. However it does not have a motion sensor sensitivity adjustment. One question said that they had set it to about 4 metres, however this is not possible. If you live on a busy street this light will come on often as the motion detection is very good. Mine is always coming on. I am slightly disappointed with this as this is not what I wanted. It is a good deterrent through for any would-be burglar. I then went through the reviews and questions again and see that there are more posts that confirm this fact.

Installation carried out by electrician to existing wiring. Didn’t take long so easy to install. Used the bulb that came with it. That provides enough light but a bit more would be good. Will be investing in a better bulb for future use, perhaps something that gives off clear white light.

I bought this expecting something of good quality from the brand ‘Philips’ but was disappointed. Though the unit works well and is easy to set up it is made of thin cheap plastic including the window which is a single moulded piece. I could have bought something just as good for half the price that would have had glass. Lesson learned.

Fixed to garage brickwork everlooking drive. Because of the irregular surface the two fixing bolts for retaining the front assembly did not protrude far enough for the nuts to engage. Be better to secure front assembly with two screws from the front to avoid installation issues. Also, to the unitiated some of the installation/usage diagrams are hard to comprehend. Works fine once installed.

Nice looking lamp bought to replace a bulkhead PIR lamp in the garage that recently took to staying on permanently. I’ve fitted 4 of these of various makes at different times over the years and their life seems now to be only a few years before needing replacing…the exception being the first one which I fitted in my porch over 10 years ago and, at the risk of tempting providence, is still going. The design of this one is fairly easy to install although the small facia retaining nuts are extremely fiddly as there is not enough thread protruding to grip. Small tip… secure the bolt at the back with tape before attaching the lamp to the wall to prevent the bolt sliding back into the body. The lux and time adjusting screws to either side of the PIR unit are virtually impossible to see in what inevitably will be low lght conditions. Black print on black background about as useful as white printing ink. In the end had to go by feel and previous experience of how these work. Apart from the fitting leaflet, I found the instructions for adjusting the light length and time confusing and went by T & E as to which way to turn the adjusting screws.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersWith nights closing in I thought I would replace the broken old lantern light with a replacement. Made by Philips makes me feel it’s not a cheap and nasty product. I was pleased with the unit overall only thing that could be better would be to use real glass not plastic.
FITTING TIPS! The light is a bit of a fiddle to fit and I ended up with a lost screw down the drain! so be careful undoing the top!
    1. After punching out the screw hole use any liquid spray to mark out on the wall where to fit the plugs/fitting (not supplied)
    2. Before fitting I urge that you seal the wires to the PIR with a silicon or sika flex as I feel water over time could ingress into the PIR unit. I also added seal to the wire inlet area.
    3. There are two small nuts that lock the lamp to the wall fitting I would urge that you pack behind the screw and cover with some tape to stop the screw going backwards towards the wall when fitting the lamp to the wall-plate.
The whole job took me around 30 mins to fit.
    4. Add and coating of grease or oil to the locking screws to gain easy access to the lamp lid and cover in the future.

Nice Light but read my tips on fitting!

Looks classic and modern which is exactly what I wanted. My uncle fitted for me but he seemed to do it with ease. It does pick up movement within approximately a 1-2 metre distance which is more than sufficient. If your door is close to a path just turn the light sensor down so the light doesn’t stay on as long. (see other peoples reviews with picture, it helped me!)
Seems good quality and well built. Water rolls off so unless the birds wreck it I imagine it’ll last for years to come

Have been looking for outside lights to replace a couple of stainless steel units that had rusted badly (very poor). These units are made from aluminium so there should be no rust. They look great, classical shape but modern at the same time. Relatively easy to fit but it would have been easier still if the manufacturer had drilled out the two holes through the plastic base plate so you can put screws into the wall. The PIR sensor can be adjusted for time and light level.

Looks great, and the sensor works brilliantly. Fitting was a breeze if you have a drill. Bought an LED E27 light bulb to use with it 8W which is equivalent of 60W old money. It does click when it switches on, not annoying, but unusual. The sensor picks up pedestrians on the pavement 10m away! The bolts to fix the housing onto the unit are too short. Removing the washers fixes this issue, but only just. Poor design there, but otherwise a great product and looks more expensive than it is.

A little fiddly with the wires and the internal rear rubber grommet, for the wires to come into the lamp, kept on coming out. Also as somebody else mentioned, the 2 bolts to hold the lamp front on are a little too short…this made it very fiddly and I was doing this above grass so was dreading the retention washer and bolt were going to fall into the grass while trying to get them on literally 2-3 mm of thread!! In the end I put a spoon handle behind the lamp and behind the bolt to push as much thread out as possible…that gave me an extra few millimetres. All in all a nice looking lamp though

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersQuite simple, straightforward installation. Product is great for the price.
With regards to the motion sensor it has quite long range and it is not adjustable(you can’t tilt it or move it sideways), so it’s not ideal for short driveways as pedestrians and passing vehicles are switching the lamp on.
But it should serve you well for long driveway or garden.

Does what it sets out to do, as mentioned by others the holding screws are very short and a pain to do up, also no screws to put in to the wall, not a big issue, but would have expected a company such as Philips to supply these.

A very modern looking light, a twist from the traditional style of a fire within a lamp well. The shell is made from aluminium and the windows made with plastic so it is pretty light weight compared to the metal casing and glass windows alternative. The windows being made from plastic can make it feel cheap but you wouldn’t be able to tell it was plastic just by looking at it. It also means it is less likely to shatter on impact.
This light is also compatible with LED bulbs so you can save some wattage while getting the most lumens. I’m currently using a 4W LED E27 SES bulb which is equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. Luohaoshi Dimmable 4-Pack 4W G45 E27 SES LED Filament Mini Globe Bulb Warm White 2700K 40W Incandescent Equivalent Edison Screw E27 LED Antique Clear Golf Ball

    Installation
Not as simple as it should be, but ultimately there weren’t any complications if you know a few details.
First off I want to mention that mine didn’t come with the back screws or raw plugs to the back wall. It could be that these type of lighting don’t normally come with any screws or raw plugs, but you still need to be aware before you start installation and removing any old lighting. The back panel also didn’t have the holes needed to screw into the wall so you will need to make your own either by drilling into it or cutting it out.
The electrical wires are colour coded (as they should be nowadays) so wiring any existing wires from your house to the light is not an issue. I suggest you disconnect the lighting from the back base so it’s easier to screw the base into the wall. Take a picture before you disconnect or refer to the manual so you know where the wires should go when you reconnect them.

Other reviews have mentioned how “fiddly” it is to screw on the caps to fit the lighting onto the base unit. They are not wrong. The screws these caps are suppose to be attach too are about 1-2 mm too short, and unfortunately can be pushed back into the base unit if you are too forceful. These caps are also tiny, especially if you have big hands, and so if you drop them outside you can so easily lose them. To overcome this, I would suggest you put a large light colour sheet or blanket on the ground beneath where your light installation will be to catch the caps and prevent them from bouncing around too much. I would also remove the existing washers on the screws to gain back about 1mm and give you some more leg (finger) room.

    Configurability
Two rotating screws on each side – one to adjust for how long the light stays on, and the other for it’s daylight sensitivity before the motion sensor begins to work. Because it’s a rotating screw you can’t get the exact timing or daylight sensitivity and so you must do it by trial or error. I wished it had more settings to adjust for the motion sensor range and angle (as it is slightly too short where I have put it up) but I knew about this when I bought it.

    Conclusion (TLDR)
Very nice modern looking light, supports LED, simple settings but have moderate installation issues. It’s a high rating because once it has all been installed it looks great and works as intended even if the controls can’t allow for precise settings. Loses a star mainly because of the caveats during installation.

A good product when you use a decent energy saving bulb. 2 issues I had with it….1- fitting- had to use a block of wood as my 240v feed was NOT coming out the wall, and I could not chase a front facing brick work, so you need to mount OFF the wall. 2. the sensor is pretty crap. Yes it comes on/off but the sensor is not great at the time of day…dawn/dusk. Maybe a fault on it, but I was not too bothered about that TBH.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI really like these outdoor wall lights and specifically bought Philips as I trust the brand.

Installation is a breeze and one thing that worth noting is that they have built in support for pass through which is great. It means I have a motion sensor one and connected to the same switch an non-motion sensor one. Triggering the sensor then switches both lights on which is superb.

Build quality is good and mostly metal and to be honest having looked around these came in cheaper than ones at a certain DIY chain and in my opinion are better. They take E27 bulbs and I bought some Philips 1000lm LED bulbs which work really well. What would also look nice in these are the filament style led bulbs.

You can control the sensitivity of the air and the duration of the light easily.

Overall a superb and reasonably priced outdoor light which looks great.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI bought this lamp unit two years ago, to replace an existing door lamp that was getting distinctly tatty. This is a problem that most metal units with black paint finish end up suffering from (the paint eventually flakes away from the metal due to all the hot/cold cycles that the lamp is subjected to both in operation and with the weather). I was actually drawn to the idea of a lamp that would potentially stay looking nice for longer, and which does a better job of being weatherproof than some outside lights we have used in the past.

We’d usually gone for a more ornate style of lamp in the past, so it was a bit of a departure for us to opt for a more contemporary look, but it works really well and doesn’t draw the eye. It’s “just there” when you most need it and the rest of the time you almost don’t notice it.

Putting it onto the wall was the usual fiddle, especially since our walls are textured stone and therefore not level surfaces on which to mount a light like this. That said, this went on more easily than our previous two lamps, although I found myself wishing that lamp manufacturers could for once agree on the spacing between the wall fixing screws! With the various lamps we’ve had there over the years, the wall is looking more like it was used for an Iron Woodworm challenge. The separate “back plate” idea worked well for me, since it saved me from trying to drill/screw/etc while trying to keep the whole lamp steady in place.

In operation there is a distinct “tick” sound as the PIR switches on the light, and the angle of the sensor, while not adjustable, is sufficient for us to activate the light from about 8 feet away even though we approach our front door from one side – where we’d usually expect to be at the edge of PIR coverage. Our path is also covered by another PIR light Mr. Beams MB360 LED Spotlight Dark Brown 8ft up the wall, which gets us into range of the door light without leaving us in the dark. The controls are simple to use although the instructions are very basic, and are the usual light-level sensitivity setting, and the illumination time. A little experimentation is usually needed to find the sweet spot for the controls, but we find that setting light sensitivity down to the bottom (the moon rather than the sun setting) gives us light only when we really need it on dark nights, and we set the time to just off minimum (set to minimum and then given about 1/8 turn back up from there). If you have a family, or tend to loiter at the door a bit longer getting organised (I know the feeling) you may want to gradually lengthen the time out from there with experience. The controls are easily accessible for experimenting. I got bored trying to test for the maximum illumination time, I was only doing it for curiosity’s sake anyway.

There is little to no false triggering on our light. Our front door is on one side of the house with a hedge just over a metre away. A neighbour may trigger the light if the hedge is not in leaf, and strong winds can sometimes agitate the hedge enough to make the light activate (we usually switch it off from the indoor light switch on nights like that), but generally we get no false triggering and, due to the siting of the light, we have no need to cover the upper part of the sensor with tape to prevent it from “seeing” passing cars and people.

We’re really happy with this light. We have no concerns about the fact that the glass is in fact plastic, and that the metal looks plastic too. If anything it seems to be keeping its good looks far better than the previous metal and glass lamps we have had, and it’s also reassuring that a nice solid European brand such as Philips can produce inexpensive and yet sophisticated-looking lights such as this.

Spent a while looking for a replacement for a light that was nearly 20 years old. I had 2 requirements 1 it must support low energy bulbs (the old one couldn’t) and have a sensor that could look down as well as out as the light is about 8- 10ft from the ground.

This was quite simple to fit (I removed the back box from the light taking a note where the wires were, then fitted that to the wall I then reconnected the light before fixing it to the back.

All in all it took about 30 minutes to fit and test.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood quality and at a competitive price. Easy to fit. On reflection I should have bought a bulb with it as I found it difficult to buy a suitable Philips one hard to believe but not all the major outlets stock them !

Excellent product from top brand manufacturer. PIR is very good and adjustable for time and light level. Uses E27 ES bulbs. I use LED so very low power consumption. Things to note – Wire has to come from rear so its difficult or almost impossible to have it coming from side say in the case of external wiring coming from the soffit. One minor problem is the very small nuts securing the unit. The bolts are barely long enough when the wiring is installed and the tiny nuts are so easy to jump off and lose. I was lucky to find mine but I wish the maker had put one or two spares for comfort. Overall very attractive and well built option. I bought three matching ones for my home.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSmart looking light. Metal body, clear plastic ‘glass’. A bit fiddly to put up. If on your own I suggest that you dismantle the lamp indoors (over a table) to remove the top and then the plastic ‘glass’ – this makes that part lighter and easier to manage when connecting. Detach the lamp from the back plate – there are small washers behind the thumb nuts – easy to lose. The instructions are good except that the wiring diagram is in black and white so it is not easy to distinguish between the brown live wire from the mains live feed to the PIR unit and the black wire from the PIR unit to the lamp. If you get this the wrong way round your light will not work. If you get it right your light will work, however, be aware that the light will initially go on once connected to power even if it is broad daylight. Don’t be fooled into thinking something is wrong and the lamp is always on. I suggest making sure that the light sensor adjustment (on side of PIR) is set to night and then when the lamp initially comes on leave it several minutes to see that it does go off. Take care not to drop the fiddly screws, nuts and washers when you put the lamp back together again.

This light was working up until a week ago when it started to oscillate, 5 seconds on 2 seconds off, it only occurs when it is dark. Can I do anything to stop this happening? Purchased on 24th Sept 2015 from Amazon EU S.a.r.l Regards John Kee

Mine has a LED filament bulb in it (LED filament bulbs are amazing, > 500 lumen of warm white light output for just 6W of electricity and of course the filaments look just like old fashioned lightbulbs) and it does an amazing job lighting up our driveway during the past winter. Construction quality is good, it doesn’t mist up, and it detects movement from easily 30 foot away. I also think it looks pretty swish.

I would by the way strongly suggest you insert some tin foil at the top under the hood. It will reflect a lot more of the light from the bulb out onto the ground, it makes a very big difference to seeing where you are walking when it is turned on.

    Pros
    -Good light
    – looks great
    – Works with LED bulbs
    -Adjustment for sensitivity and duration
    Cons
    – No fixing screws supplied
    – Fixing holes(to the wall) – not standard

Good looking wall light – dropped a star as it is not as easy to install as it could be.

The provided mains multiblock is too large for the space it has to fit in – I had to replace it with a smaller one.
Its then fiddly to connect the wires
    Worth the effort though

This is a quality lamp. I was very impressed as It is aluminium so very sturdy with good quality finish white paint. The fitting is straight forward as I had a go having never done it before and was replacing an existing (rubbishy) one. It is a little fiddly with the retaining screws for the lantern part and I wished that I had taken the advice of the electrician review and put some tape over the back to keep the screw in place. It looks smashing I love it. Would recommend this no problem as can’t see anybody being disappointed with it.

Golden Review Award: 140 From Our UsersI’m an electrician and have fitted many, many luminaries like this one, however I have now fitted 6 of this units for various customers as well as one by my own front door and in my opinion this is one if not the very best I have installed!
Yes the glass is plastic but once its in place you cannot tell it is so. Another reviewer mentioned its fiddly to fit as light unit is attached to base unit but all you have to do is unscrew a couple of cables from the terminal connector, fit the base unit and re-attach cables! Please remember which colour goes where, if you are not sure make a note before you disconnect or take a photo to remind you.
Another tip is to put a small piece of insulation tape over the retaining bolt heads in the base unit to stop them coming out on installation.
Adjustment couldn’t be easier, turn the lux sensor right over to the moon symbol so it doesn’t illuminate during daylight hours, then turn the time right over to minimum time and if you only want it to come on for a couple of minutes turn it back approx. 1/8″.
Don’t forget you LED lamp (I always use a min of 6 watts) and job done!
Yes they are sensitive but they are meant to be! And yes you will get nuisance illumination from outside influences (All sensor lights do!) but if you fit a LED lamp it won’t cost you to much and won’t damage the environment excessively!
I was not paid or supplied with any Free products for this review!
These are sold by Wicks for 19.99 so a bargain price here then!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice size down lighter, well designed, however the screw length is fiddly and, in my case the washer fell to the floor and wasn’t found, If I would give a tip it would be to dab a small bit of vasolene on the washer to hold it in place before you screw the hexagonal nut …..I did this on the 2nd fix….. The dome is plastic, but is adequate, I added a Phillips led light and I’m very pleased with this purchase.

So I have read the other reviews, but choose to still buy one.
Yes the part that screws to the wall is plastic. But that is then covered by the light and you no longer see it.
The sensor works well. It’s not supper bright but there is more than enough light to find your keys and open a door.
The only changes I would make is the underside of the top I would have it reflective. But I’m happy with the look and how it works
Edit. It’s 2022 and still working with same bulb!

A very good light but let down in my opinion by a poor quality grommet used for the wire access at the back; just disintegrated with me and I had to use the one off the light being replaced.

I actually bought the wrong one without the sensor but they exchanged it for this one which was pretty good of them.

I found the instructions very useful and this is coming from someone who never touches electrics.

You can adjust the sensor from basically super sensitive to not very which equates to nearly within touching distance of the light. I set mine somewhere in between so that when I come down my path it comes on automatically.

It’s build quality is pretty good too plus you have the luxury of selecting white or black.

Not much else to say other than its been working fine for the few weeks that it’s been connected.

High-quality lanterns with a very elegant look. At the price I paid (less than 20) they are a total bargain. I installed two at the back of my kitchen extension and they look fantastic.

One bit of advice – these lamps are designed to receive a cable from the back, so have a think about how you plan to mount them. I wanted to run some flex cable in from the side and I had to search around for a 100mm white circular backbox – not easily done!

On the whole very pleased, exactly the type of item you’d expect from Philips.

Our new front door light. Illuminates the path down to the door, the sensor triggers at the end of the path and there is plenty of light by the front door to fumble with keys. Construction appears to be good quality, the mounting and casing seem to be protected from the weather but I’ll report back after the winter. A bit of care is required when cleaning as it isn’t glass but a plastic material. At this price it’s a good compromise as I’m not going to worry about the cost when replacing it, unlike some more expensive ones that have decayed faster than I’d have liked. You can adjust the timings allowing us to avoid burning light when not required.

I do like it, it looks great, but its a shame you can’t adjust the angle that the PIR works at. It’s been installed at a height where nobody will walk into it, but the resulting angle the sensor is at, means that every passing car sets it off. It does only go off for a second though, and I only have it on in the early morning and late evening, for a few hours at a time, so not too much trouble.

Looks fantastic in the porch. I put a 12W led bulb which does the job. It switches on when someone comes within 3-4 meters and only at night! Our previous porch light did not have the only night function. It has a strong sturdy structure. Be aware that the transparent shield around the light bulb is not glass; it is a good quality plastic. Let’s see how long it will last.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a modern replacement for my old lantern. It looks good. The light is bright and the sensor has an acceptable range. One little niggle: it cannot be made to stay on. I had that choice with my old light. It would be helpful if such things were mentioned in the description. However, I am still pleased with this purchase

I like the style but as I haven’t as yet mounted it on the wall, I cannot really rate it. When I find the time and a trusted electrician to do it, I will let you know then. But so far, I like what I see.
