This little tool is a must if you have a toddler that loves playdoh. Comes with some shapes so that they can create ‘worms’ to cut up. Leaver isn’t too stiff so they are able to use for themselves and make their own masterpieces.

We got this as a stocking filler, it well made but doesn’t come with that many extras so it’s just a little add on kit really.

Bought the Play-Doh Basic Fun Factory Shape-Making Machine with 2 Non-Toxic Colours for our 3 year old granddaughter’s birthday.

She already has loads of play-doh, rolling pin and a range of cutters (from Poundland) but wanted to get one of the machines she can make shapes out of. The syringe type is too difficult for her to push through the play-doh but with this plunger/push down type she’s able to easily push through the play-doh to make different shapes.

Only critisicm is the play-doh get’s stuck in places you’re unable to reach to remove from the plunger so can take a few minutes to clean it up and you’ll never clear out 100% of the play-doh, hence reason for only 4 stars, but still great fun.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood value on offer but the play doh gets stuck in various little crevices and is very hard to get out (I tend to use an old business card) so only buy it if you/little one don’t mind getting the colours mixed together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only but if you don’t mind mixing colours

Comes with two slides bits so you can do a variety of different shapes.
Only downside is that so much playdoh gets stuck inside the pusher. But absolutely loved.

Great addition to our ever growing playdoh toolkit!
Because if you have children under 6 you need to own an entire range of tools for your kids to stick that poop coloured dough through.

I bought this for my great niece as a present. She has played with one at a friends and loves it. It is very good for developing fine motor control in children.

Produces great shapes from Play-Doh and it works very well, but the plastic feels less study compared to a similar item from a few years ago. But probbaly strong enough for many hours of happy play and fu

Bought to replace a finally worn-out earlier version. Not QUITE as well-engineered as the previous model (this one leaks Play-Doh from the seams) but still up to the job of providing children with creative fun. A definite winner at a fair price.

    It works well.
The only negative really, it is very fiddly to clean and seems to take an age.

Good value and provides hours of entertainment. Can be fiddly to clean after use, if you don’t get all the bits of play doh out after use, it dries up and makes sliding the shape ruler in very hard for next use. Otherwise a brilliant little toy.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy 3-year-old loves this and has no problem operating it by himself. He does use it standing up at the coffee table though so gets good leverage. It keeps him occupied for well over an hour which is a long time for him.

One small niggle is that the play doh comes out through the adjacent shapes and through the gaps so it’s not perfect. It doesn’t bother my son at all though and for 6-7, it’s still excellent value for money.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought this for our 3 year old to occupy himself whilst I try and school his sister. It’s a nice compact size and comes with 2 pots of play doh. The reason I’ve put it down a star is because it is quite difficult to push down. Our son needs help and he’s quite strong. I wish they still did the one I had as a child- this was a much bigger and sturdier machine but never mind, this is a good substitute.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsing household items like plastic cookie cutters, rolling pins, children’s scissors, image stamps, we continue to enjoy playing with playdough. This addition took play to another level. Buying just the “factory” was reasonable. Very sturdy and child friendly even for 4 and almost 3 yr olds. Parents will need to take the time to carefully clean the “factory” when play is finished. I’ve seen instructions on YouTube to take the factory apart for cleaning but I think a toothpick does the trick well enough.

With two kids that both love play doh, this press is still in one piece months later so it’s built well enough and they still play with it so it was worth it.

Lovely item for my son to play with. I had one very similar as a kid and it lasted years and years. I can’t give 5 stars simply because it took longer than expected to arrive even with express delivery.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersIt’s the Play-Doh Fun Factory, a toy as classic as they come. I have a degree in Early Childhood Development and Play-Doh is one of the best toys for tactile play, which is super important for young children. Forget all the expensive character-laden Play-Doh sets, all you need is this, a rolling pin and some cookie cutters, and you’re good to go. (Though, the Play-Doh hair salon is pretty good as well.)

Fast delivery, good robust tool. Bought this to replace one we’d been using for over a year – so far, holding up well to enthusiastic and regular use by a toddler… Keeps him occupied for ages! 😉
