This little unit can cool my entire flat down in about an hour. Not frosty cold, but much more comfortable than the hot sticky mess I’d be otherwise.
If I close the bedroom door, it’ll chill the room right down to 16c in minutes.

Best thing I’ve bought in a while.

I don’t find the noise all that loud either. Video is of it at full tilt in a room at 23 degrees with it set to go to 16 degrees and it has been on for 5 minutes.

Overall it’s fine . Will cool a small room . Say 12ft x 14ft. Quite noisy so not great in a bedroom . I run for an hour to cool room then turn off .

It cools down the room nicely, quickly in fact. The noise level is as advertised 60 to 65 dB, the bedside fan I was using prior to this is 50 to 55 dB highest setting, so it’s noisier but only just!…..all portable air conditioning units make slightly more noise than a conventional fan!…so don’t expect anything that quiet, personally I could sleep with it on, and also watch TV in the lounge with it going
. I have the extractor hose poking out the dog flap in the lounge, with a blanket wrapped round it to create a gap free seal. Works a treat! … I have purchased the window kit for the bedroom though. The AC unit is definitely worth the money in my opinion, even if I only use it half a dozen times a year!….total relief from the heat when you need it.

Absolutely brilliant cools the room down fast and keeps it cool, only criticism is it’s a little noisy. It could do with a ultra low speed like a sleep setting. The de humidifier function is amazing it dried over a liter of water from a small room in just a few hours

Brought this in early spring ready for potential heatwaves to help my 48kg GSD dog who suffers in the heat. Now summer has actually arrived It really does do the trick. Cools air fairly quickly and gets a large room back to a comfortable temperature.

    Only cons/personal observations:
Hose is very short: unless you have access to put it straight next to a window, get an extension hose.

Speed modes: even the low speed is quite strong, so if you want something quiet on in the night this might not be the one for you

Timer: Can only select hour intervals for auto-shut off.

Weight: whilst this has wheels which is useful, it is super heavy.

Overall for the price I would expect the hose and different speed modes as standard. Would I recommend? Yes.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAir con unit itself was easy to put together and instructions very clear. Does what is says on the tin. Cools the room down quickly. Wouldn’t need it on all night as it cools the room so we switch it off before bed. Cons are that it can be very loud, especially when compressor kicks in and the window adaptor kit is not really suitable for your usual opening windows that aren’t sliding, so I feel some air is lost when the nozzle is out of the window. Other than that we are really pleased with it and it’s been an absolute god send in the UK heatwaves!

This unit certainly does what it is supposed to do. I purchased it for use in my bedroom that is approximately 16 square meters, as I really struggle to sleep in the heat. The unit after about 30 minutes of being on brings the temperature right down arguably to a temp colder than you would want for sleeping in (but my Mrs always said I’m a penguin).

The timer is a useful feature, shutting the unit off after a preset period, meaning it isn’t running all night.

I have seen others mention the running noise as an issue, yes it does make a hum. If you were watching TV you may nudge it up a notch or two, but I manage to easily sleep with it on so it’s not that bad.

The remote is handy if you are having a lazy moment and cant be bothered to walk over to turn it on / off.

I don’t have any negative points apart from it being quite heavy, which given the components in an AC unit they all are pretty heavy.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersLooking for a quiet air conditioning unit for the bedroom this one stood out with good reviews and a quoted 50 dB noise level.

Got it going, the cooling was impressive but with sleep mode selected it drowned out the TV. Would probably just about be able to sleep with it on, but would have to be very tired to drop off without being disturbed.

I did find the fan mode very quiet, so will try AC cooling of the room and change to fan to sleep.

All in all sleek design, great build quality and cooling is top notch.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m not overly impressed with the ability of this unit to bring the temperature of a room down, but if you’re sat in the air flow then it is a lovely cool breeze. The noise is louder than I expected. It is a drone that you can ignore and as long as you’re not close to it then turning the TV up a notch or two is sufficient and it doesn’t take long to tune out the hum. But when I had it in my small office I found myself really raising my voice to drown out the noise when I was sat about 3-4 feet from it, even when it was on it’s lower fan setting. As long as you can sit at least 6ft from it and you don’t get aggravated by droning noises then it’s bearable… more than the sudden humid heat we get in this country! Worth the money, but I really wish someone would invent a silent fan!!!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have a young child, so a warm bedroom at night means no sleep for anyone. Straight out of the box and set up it cooled their room down quickly and dehumidified the warm air.

The noise on start up is loud but it quickly gets quiet when in bedtime mode, and they slept soundly with it on.

I’ve used it in various rooms of the house and it’s been great every time. Happy custome

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith a little adjustment it fits on my window, (be careful tho it is a bit heavy) . I have a small room and if cools quick. I’m gonna use it for every uk heatwave haha, can easily fit in the cubby when not in use , not too loud compared to a normal fan. Be careful with the back plugs and the front flaps, they can be a bit stiff,Overall it was worth beating the heat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing!, works well .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI would highly recommend. Great air-con machine does the job. Really quiet. Very east to set up. Controller provides so much comfort easy to use. Great appearance blends well in to the appearance. Get the room really cool very quickly. All in one need to invest for the summer coming up.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWorks exactly as advertised, cold air flow begins moments after you turn it on. For those who have never used an a/c unit before, you’ll never get a truly quiet one unless you have an outside unit. This unit, being portable and installation-free is surprisingly quiet when you have the fan set to Low. Combining portable+quiet is hard as you would need to have a dense, thick covering to make an a/c unit quiet, which would then make it very heavy — I was impressed that this unit manages to be portable and fairly low noise at the same time. Only one drawback was that the tube could have been made using a more flexible material, as the 3M length is not fully usuable due to the tube taking such a wide corner, so be advised that though it’s 3M, really about 2.5M is really usable, though this is likely not an issue for most people who are using middle-of-the-floor windows.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersUpdate 30/07 – We’re deep into July and the unit works great even in the very hot weather. The only drawback and why I’ve reduced it from 5 stars to 4 is that it is so noisy and it’s hard to sleep with the noise.

Previous review – We bought this air con unit after some very hot evenings. The instructions are straight forward and it really does cool the room down. The true test will be during July/August but we’re confident it’ll do the trick! Good purchase so fa

Got for the bedroom after some hot nights. The air on works well from 22 degrees down to 16 it’s a god send.

Only problem is the window fittings won’t work with your average UK window style more European style so you need a uk window seal ki

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersBefore I say what I think it’s important to give some context. I live in a a top floor flat, in London, and my bedroom has this huge window and get head on exposure on a sunny day. Even when the temperature outside is mild, let’s say 23C, inside the bedroom is 29C with all windows open. And now in June the temperatures only start to dip around 2am in the morning (I’ve got a high precision thermometer in the bedroom, and can see graphs on my phone from all the temp reads. I’m a data freak). So by 2am in the morning temperatures inside the bedroom would still be 27C (on a sunny day).

So I’ve bought this unit to try to remedy that. For my bedroom specifically. What I’ve seen so far is, and we’ve had quite a few sunny hot days now in late June/23, I turn the unit on full power around 6pm when the sun is still blazing, blinds fully shut, but yet it take full 3 hours for the temperature in the bedroom to go down by 3 degrees. So it 6pm it was like 28C, by 9pm shortly before sunset it was 25C. Around 1am in the morning it was reaching 21C so that was the time when I usually turn the speed down and put the temp up a bit as it starts to get actually cold.

One could say that this is not much. But it’s important to note just temperature readings are not the whole story. Even though the temp reading is quite high, 25C, but the fact the unit has been on for a while it does create this pleasant cold breeze inside the bedroom. So it’s totally more comfortable to stay there with 25C than somewhere else with the same temp and no AC. My bedroom is 25m2 by the way.

That’s why I’m still happy with this purchase. At the bare minimum, I can point the thing directly at my bed and it also becomes a fan that actually blows cold air and not like my normal fan that feels like I’ve turned on the oven in my face.

About the noise, I’ve taken measurements with my Apple Watch and in full speed/power, from 2.5 meters distance, it measured 56dB. One could say it is loud. I think it’s normal and actually my cheap fan that I bought from John Lewis when in top speed is around 53dB. So almost the same thing. When in lower speed, it measured 52dB. At least for me, the noise is bearable and expected for a unit like this.

Two things I don’t really like. The window kit or whatever they call it is absolutely useless. I do have sash windows, but still I had to improvise and fill a gap big enough to fit a kettle through with some old duvet covers I have. Creating a seal is really important to prevent warm air coming back in. So do try to seal as good as you can, and shut the door from your bedroom. If you don’t have sash windows, the DIY necessary will be like space exploration kinda stuff. Beware.

The other one is the remote contains no display. So it’s hard to know what you’re actually doing without getting up and checking the display on the unit itself. You have to hope you’ve done the right thing.

So yeah, bottom line, still happy with this purchase. If you have a room bigger than 25m2 go for a 12000 BTU unit.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought the air con unit well in advance of the current UK heatwave and it has been ideal. It’s a neat unit that’s been tucked away in the corner of the room until needed, and now helps take the edge off my very warm living room (south facing and the upstairs of the building, with two large velux windows which turn it into a greenhouse otherwise)

Noise wise it’s medium – I’d prefer it a tad quieter but it’s also not too disruptive. You can watch TV by turning it up a tad but not drastically so.

All round, great product for a great price.

Bought this air con cause I was tired of suffering through the summer heatwaves here in the uk. I had purchased multiple fans in the past, but it just wasn’t worth it as all they did was push hot air around my bedroom. So, I bit the bullet and bought this little machine and I couldn’t be happier. I have quite a small room so cooling down doesn’t take long at all and the noise definitely isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. All in all, I’m very pleased and would recommend this product to anyone

My room is upstairs, on the south side, so the sun is heating all afternoon. Last year, during the heatwaves, it was 30-31 degrees in the room. That time I decided to buy one of these. One of the best decisions I ever made. The delivery was fast. I tried it out today, the first hot, sunny day of the summer, and it worked perfectly. Could be a little quieter, but quid pro quo, right? Anyway, it was a good choice, I recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought the air conditioner in March, in anticipation for summer, because last year we had such a warm summer. And now we are in June and the weather hasn’t been too warm yet. I have used the aircon only a few times but it is very efficient. I have used the fan and cooling functions and they work as advertised. It is very compact and takes up little space in my home office. It is a little bit noisy but not so much that I need to turn it off when on calls. I’m looking forward to really trying it out later in the year. Highly recommended.

Every year summer rolls around and there’s a point at which I say ‘I wish we had air conditoning’ on those few extra hot days we get in the UK. This year I finally invested and bought this in early summer.

Needless to say it got it’s fair use through 2022 and in my opinion it has already paid for itself in what otherwise would have been a horrible summer in the city. Whilst friends and family would complain about the sweltering heat in their homes, I was feeling chilly with my perfect portable A/C making my living room a cool 16c.

It’s louder than I expected in A/C mode, but it truly didn’t and doesn’t matter. I don’t have it running all the time, and the benefits far outweigh this.

I chose this particular model based on glowing reviews, and they aren’t wrong. What I haven’t really seen anyone speak about is it’s performance as a dehumifier. Now it’s getting colder, I’ve started using this as a dehumifier in ‘dry’ mode. It is amazing. When in ‘dry’ mode, like all dehumidifiers, the air that blows out of the back is quite warm. I get my clothes out of the washing machine, hang them and face the back of this unit (where the hot air is released) at the wet clothes. It is truly amazing at how quickly it dries them. King-size bedsheets dry in an hour and a half. Loads of laundry, fully dry within 2 hours. It’s far cheaper to run than a drier, the amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is quite amazing.

I absolutely love that I can use this year round as an A/C unit in the summer and to help dry clothes indoors in the winter.

    Worth every penny!

Good unit, easy to use. I cut the box up it came in and taped it to the living room window , put a hole for the exhaust in the carboard. Or you can get a window seal exhaust kit.

Its enough to keep a single room a good temperature and the cold air can drift through the rest of the house a bit. Didn’t use it at night as slightly too loud for me to sleep. It does also use a lot of electricity but for something cheap that only going to use for a week or so once a year its a good cheap optio

Bought this before the second heatwave – was expecting it to be much bulkier so I was pleasantly surprised by just how compact it is. The hose isn’t particularly long but you can buy an extra hose and a joiner to make it much longer to give more flexibility in terms of where you place it in the room. It works really well at cooling even a large room.

  27. Audra2063vrqdf says:

One of the best investments I’ve made in a long time given the summer in the UK

    Firstly!
This item does a great job at cooling down rooms I live in a very open plan two storey house and when placed in the hallway it adequately cools the upstairs however works best in a single room

    Secondly
Yes it makes a noice but it’s no louder than any other air conditioning unit, fix or portable, so don’t let peoples lack of knowledge put you off.
You would need to increase your tv volume by 20% when on but you can still hold a conversation

    Thirdly
The unit is very heavy so unless you work out you won’t be moving it that much but it doesn’t come in wheels if you want to move it around

    Fourthly
The window accessories is useless unless you have sash windows but it doesn’t matter that much

As mentioned in the title there are some improvements need to the remote an LCD screen would help as not always confident I have activated the correct setting so have to get up and look at the machine to confirm and I wish there was a lower fan speed setting for continuous night time functio

This has been a fantastic buy for the recent heatwaves, which has allowed for comfortable nights sleep. It does make a noise, but we soon got used to that. It’s not something that will be used that often in our climate, but it was worth every penny this summer, and will be there for the next hot nights, whenever they may come. It is heavy to carry about, but it can be moved on it’s wheels. The tube going out of the window is a bit unwieldy, as they all seem to be, but it’s all worth it for a good nights sleep.

Buying this has made me so happy. Being pregnant and in my third trimester this summer, people often ask how I’m coping and it’s just taken the uncomfortableness away completely. It’s very cold. Louder than a fan but not enough annoyingly so. Only complaint is that I think they should give options for window adapters as the one that comes with it is only for windows that lift horizontally. I need to buy a cloth window adapter which costs almost 20 which after spending this much on air con (although a good price!) Is irritating.

It cooled the room well on the hottest days.
A small unit for its power.
It’s let down by the poor quality pipe which doesn’t easily return to its original size and tends to go out of shape.
The remote is very basic and you need to see the top of the unit to confirm the mode and temperature

I would highly recommend this air con unit, for the price ill be looking to buy a second unit for the living room once they are available again.

It is a bit noisy but i put it on a few hours before bed and the temp will go from around 30c to 20c in that time (I have a temp gun). Keep my bedroom doors and windows shut and thats enough for me to sleep well, . To be honest, the room feels massively cooler within about 10 mins of it being on!

Cost wise, I’m pleasantly surprised. I am on a fixed 2 year tariff so it might be more for other people but the most I’ve spent is 4 in a day and it was literally on high for about 15 hours. Generally its a couple of quid a day. I only plan to use it on the hottest days of the year so its not expensive in my opinion.

I bought a window sleeve as i have windows that open out, cost 15 from Amazon and works fine, .
