The PureMate PM 520 air cleaning system has its efficient 5-stage filtering system. It’s quiet, easy to use and maintain with its unique 5-Stage filtering ability, it can cover a wide range of air pollutants.
The first part of the 5-in-1 system is the pre-filter which uses activated carbon to trap larger particles found indoors such as dust, lint and hair. Activated charcoal is very porous, and its uneven surface is great for trapping larger pollutants, but there is another benefit to it as well. A carbon layer efficiently eliminates odours stemming from household pets, cooking and tobacco smoke. During the second stage, the air is filtered through a True HEPA filter. True HEPA filters have to meet strict standards which involve being able to collect 99.97% of airborne particles as tiny as 0.3 microns in diameter. For instance, stuff like pet dander, dust mites, mould spores and pollen all fall into this category.
The third and fourth stage involves air filtration using UV-C light. This technology works to help kill airborne viruses, bacteria, mould spores, and with titanium dioxide (TIO2), decomposes odour molecules caused by smoking, cooking and pets.
And finally the last stage the unit releases negative ions which enhances the mood, keeping you alert and active. It eliminate most tiny particles suspended in indoors air. In addition, the air will actually smell fresher because of the Ioniser.
The PureMate PM 520 is suitable for rooms up to 600 square feet of in size which makes it perfect for most bedrooms. It stands 28-inches tall. The unit’s CADR (Clear Air Delivery Rate) is 110+ which effectively means it’s able to deliver 110 cubic feet of clean air per minute with 5 changes of air per hour.
The PM 520 has 5 fan speed settings available. When set on low, the unit is impressively quiet at 20 dB (A). In fact most people won’t be able to tell its working if it weren’t for the large blue LED, and the cleaner doesn’t get much louder when the fan speed is set to medium.

Bought this almost 2 years ago and changed the dust filter only after 1 year, uv still works too. Functions very well. The only thing I hoped was I wish it was true hepa filter but it is not, however, it does the job for larger dust particles I could see that when I changed the filter.
This air purifier is excellent and as I am a smoker certainly works clearing odour. Recommend this product.
Great machine, works well. Only slight worry is, that it is easily tipped. My puppy dog was playing with her toy and as she played, she rolled on her back and her back leg pushed it over. Luckily I was watching at the time and caught it before it hit the carpet – Not a major issue, but notable.
Great product. Needs some upgrades. Wish it had a remote control. Most annoying thing is the light , no sleep mood , no light dimmer or off for the display screen or for the blue ring when UV light is selected.
We bought this air purifier because in comparison to other brands, the replacement filters are more reasonably priced. We are extremely happy with the workings of this machine. Put it on for an hour in a room and the air smells like the fresh clear air you get on high mountains. We are also sleeping a lot better, and wake up without headaches. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic air purification machine, I previously had a vax purifier but it had a dicky fit and decided not to work anymore. So I looked around for something different and came across this one. Great machine seems to be better than my previous one and filters are better looking and half the price, and it’s got the additional UV lamp which at this time is great for killing airborne rubbish. Nice future looking machine, looks like something out of robocop guarding my lounge.

I chose this product to help alleviate my allergies to animals and dust. So far I feel I am experiencing a definite improvement with far less sneezing and runny nose. Fingers crossed for hay fever season. The only negative point is the size of the appliance. It isn’t very attractive! I also need to move it between living and sleeping spaces and the handle at the back is badly designed in terms of getting a grip. This is important given its size and weight.
So far the fan seems to have improved the air quality of our room and seems to take out allergens that we are struggling with. It’s well built and quiet on the low setting it was also ok in the bedroom when tested.
I am using it often and it does what supposed to do. The light (UV) is a bit to bright when enabled over night.
Can use buttons at night (as they are flat).
Is really quiet on low setting and quite powerful. The hepa last longer than I expected.
This product has a flaw. The bottom plastic sensor (a physical button that gets pressed down when the filter is inserted) doesn’t go down all the way. It has caused me troubles ever since I purchased this product, but I only figured out the source of the problem recently (thanks to their intuitive phone support). I thought it was an electrical product fault. Still, I must say that both Amazon (which offered to extend my warranty and offered to give me a full refund when I was finally fed up with the product), and PureMate product support were very helpful and reassuring. When I figured out the problem, I promptly taped down the button with tape and never had a problem again.

It gets rid of smells quickly, although in my apartment I need the device at level 2/3 out of 5, for complete odour elimination. It is easy to use. The only thing I do not like are the glowing blue lights that the device emits when you utilize the UV-light option. It’s the worst color to have at night – it disrupts your biological rhythms/sleep-wake cycle. Both the uv bulb (unavoidable) as well as another set of bright blue light go around the top of the device, when you select the uv light option (for killing mold spores/other microorganisms). This makes my bedroom glow in blue light at night disturbing my sleep. I place a hat on it at night, to cover the lights.
You have 2 filters for this product that come as a package – black that you can wash, and white hepa. Note that the black one loses shape a bit after you wash it. The little velro strips might also loosen after washing it. You can still place them inside the cleaner though.
This product has really helped our household with asthma related breathing issues! I wasn’t hopeful when I bought it, how wrong was I?! The air feels less ‘oppressive’… cleaner, less dense when inhaling, so there is far less irritation and wheezing. We live in a bungalow and with the bedroom door open, it is effective in both the bedroom and hall. I really notice the difference when it hasn’t been on now – the inhaler is out far more often! My Son jokes that our Puremate is his best mate lol. Filters are easy to clean and replace, customer service is excellent if you run into any difficulties. Thank you!
What a difference it made in my living, no bad smell of smoke, cigarettes and good for my hay-fever.
Product works well in filtering air. Since I got this product, air quality in my room greatly improved. I usually wake up sneezing badly and this isn’t happening after using this unit.
Fan speed goes from one to five, highest setting makes noise but I just set mine to three. After a few hours, your brain just consider it as white noise.
In addition, the customer support from seller is superb. I contacted their number after the fan inside the unit failed, they arranged a swap via courier at my convenience.
Great fan ioniser and has been invaluable during the steamy nights this summer. Put in on at full speed with ioniser and UV in the bedroom two hours before bed time and turn it down to speed 4 with the UV off during the night for a great nights sleep. Only minor complaint is that when the UV function is on it has a bright blue light which is not conducive to sleep.
I was given one of these as a present (purchased on Amazon) and have been quite surprised how good it is and PureMate as a company are.
The first one I had was faulty so I contacted PureMate and gave them the order reference and a new one was on my doorstep the next morning and the faulty one taken away. Can’t complain at service like that.
I’ve had the replacement running for 6 weeks now and no problems with it. I use it for an hour a day to freshen the room which I find is enough but also use it as a fan when it is hot.
Not the kind of thing I would have bought myself but now I have it I wouldn’t be without one.

Super product that has helped to reduce my hay fever symptoms. Had a small issue with the first unit I had, however this has been replaced and now working fine – fantastic customer service from the manufacturer.
Bought this as a last ditch effort to try and improve my night time asthma. I was sceptical at first, but it has really helped, my night time asthma attacks that used to wake me up several times a night have now nearly stopped since using the air purifier. It is easy to use and when set to number 1 is almost silent which works well overnight. Number 5 is very effective but also quite noisy. My only criticism is that running it all day makes the room a bit warm

Easy to use, the air does feel fresher I have to say. I don’t have a pollution monitor, only a nose so I’ll have to guess at this point! Yes there’s a faint smell of plastic when it’s been on in a room for 4 hours, but that soon disappears and as you use it more and more it goes away completely.

The PureMate works well and seems to result in fresher air around the house. I live in a plouted area, and having it on does seem to make a differemce, at least to the amount of coughing and spluttering. I say this, but I suppose I will know for sure when I replace the filter. It is a smart lookimg machine and the blue glow is soothing.

In a matter of days the AQI in my house has gone from over 100 to as low as 4.
purchased one of the PM 520 for the living room which is a fabulous machine that has transformed our living areas in our home will be buying two more for the bedrooms cant recommend it enough
Living in Warsaw, the most polluted Capital in the EU, this air purifier does do the job! While it is a real gaschamber outside and inside during winter times, it helps to clean the air effectively! Highly recommended!
We have it on all the time, agree with the other people that the light is quite bright for night use in a bedroom, but it’s liveable.
After about a month, opening up the back it’s obvious it is doing something as there’s about half a cat of white fluff on the back of the filter, which we’ve been hovering until it’s time to replace the filter properly.
Not sure I agree it’s a “True HEPA”, as we’ve only seen it catch the large fluff in the activated carbon. There’s a large amount of fine dust that collects around the front outlet, which is supposed to be clean air only, and if you accidentally brush past and get it into the air, it releases a cloud of allergens that set my partner off wheezing. Feels like the finer stuff makes it through, which we thought was the whole point of the “True HEPA” to stop that.
I only don’t like all those lights, it shouldn’t shine at night.
Very good, I have a used one on sale for 70pounds, collection only from Manchester city centre.
After sneezing almost nonstop through the first three months of this year I was getting desperate. First I bought a humidifier which helped a little bit. Then I decided on a purifier and chose this one. Now I run them both on low mostly, and I’ve barely sneezed for the last three months. This is what I call a result!
The Puremate is quiet enough to run overnight on the lowest speed. It not only cleans the air but removes smells also. (I can now detect kitchen smells and other odours from elsewhere in the house when I step out of the “clean room”.) Also the sneezing can return in other rooms, presumably from pollen and cat dust. I will probably buy another unit for the kitchen.
The only slight downside was the UVC light, which stopped working after 7 weeks. Puremate immediately sent a replacement, but it only lasted one week. HOWEVER, this hasn’t made any obvious difference to the function. I’m still not sneezing, so basically I don’t care.
Does everything it claims, even without the ultra violet.
The lowest and quietest setting for the fan speed is level 1. This can be increased up to level 5. Level 1 is very quiet but not totally silent. The air being pushed through the front grill sounds like a light breeze. However, at that level it’s sufficiently quiet to allow uninterrupted sleep for most people.
When the HEPA / carbon filter combination is used without the Ioniser and ultra-violet (UV-C) light, only the top control panel illuminates with blue LEDs and a red power light. However, when the UV-C light is switched on, a blue LED strip illuminates just below the front and sides of the top silver trim. Additionally, the ultra-violet light glows through the front grill. This produces a blue night-light effect in a darkened room.
The PureMate PM520 can be operated 24/7, or only as required. I personally would not use either the UV-C light or the Ioniser on a continual basis, However, either or both of these features can be turned off while leaving the HEPA and carbon filter units fully operational. HEPA and activated carbon filters provide the most efficient and effective combination for normal household air purification.
I chose the PureMate PM520 (the 28″ model) rather than the smaller PM510 (22″ model). Most of the internal doors in my flat need to be left slightly open to permit the efficient operation of a dehumidifier, located in the hallway. Therefore, I chose an air purifier that is capable of covering a larger area than a single room.
Since I’ve got a large and powerful cat in the house, I’ve placed the PureMate between two pieces of heavy furniture, without obstructing the airflow back or front. This ensures that the unit can’t be knocked over on its side.
I’m very pleased with this air purifier. It’s more compact yet more powerful than my previous brand. The PureMate also freshens the room faster and more effectively than did my last model; and at lower, quieter fan speeds. Well worth considering if you don’t want your sleep disturbed by an automatic fan speed model!

Bought this (from the manufacturer rather than from Amazon) to help after I seemed to be allergic to our lovely new kittens (wheeziness and coughing). Within a few days of only having this on for the evening (moved between different rooms), I can really feel the difference in my breathing, it is almost back to how it was pre-kitten. Added bonus is that it clears the smell from pongy deposits in the litter tray within a few minutes, handy with the impeccable timing that the kittens have when we are expecting visitors! Loud on the highest setting as you would expect, level 3 barely noticeable with normal levels of house noise and levels 1 and 2 very quiet. I tend to use on level 4 (ioniser and UV off) in empty rooms for an hour or so at a time. Looks smart, and really works so would definitely recommend. Only negative is that it could be knocked over easily due to its small footprint.

I like it! Fan noise is very small on 1 or 2 levels ( even street noise is biger than window is closed), You can see UV light working inside. It gives a bit of smell , as i read its co2, air purifair gives fresh cool feeling in your room, it has nice designe. I think its very usefull especially in a winter , to filter viruses in the air, if someone is sick.
