Upgraded to the 2023 version.
I had the 2020 version and was happy with them after customising the EQ settings. Reason for the upgrade was I needed alerts from my phone to come through. I decided to stick with Razer as my experience with their products is a good one. The improved mic, USB C and battery life I’m happy with.
Comfy with little to no discomfort during long use
I have tried many head phones ranging in prices including similar priced ones and they all seem to cause irritation if being worn for an hour or 2.
I bought this headset and noticed I had watched a movie and played games in 1 session without feeling I needed to give my ears or head a rest from the device.
Great headset, especially if you can catch a deal.
I got this headset on sale for 60, with amazon’s sale giving me a 25% off coupon since I bought used. For the 40 it is an incredible deal.
Pros:
– Can connect with 3.5mm aux cable or USB A
– Detailed audio
– Simple yet in-depth software
– Great mic quality
– Sleek design
– Extreme comfort
– THX Spatial Audio
Cons:
– Fully plastic build
– Slightly loose feeling adjustment mechanism
Overall a great headset, very comfortable, very good audio quality and extremely sleek design.
Amazing
Really lightweight and comfortable, sound quality is impeccable and the microphone quality is good for the price range. It’s very versatile both sound wise and size wise (can adjust to ur preferred headsize)
Wow... looks so cool
Bought as a Christmas gift so can’t comment on the use and features but they look amazing. Boxed and a perfect gift.
Bought for gaming so hopefully they will love it.
:0)
Alright headse
Nothing too special about it but overall it’s a great headset with decent enough software. Sound is what you need and it’s very comfortable to have on for long periods 8-10 hours.
Good quality headset with a top tier mic
Bought this as an upgrade from the wired Blackshark V2’s. Overall it’s a great headset. Very comfy (once you’ve worn it in a little). The sound quality took a while to sort out. For me, the default EQ presets are awful. Way too bass heavy and muffled mids. I had to do a bit of digging online to get something that sounded good to me. Everyone will be different. By far the biggest upgrade over the Blackshark V2 is the mic . It’s excellent and doesn’t sound too far off some of my friends mid-tier arm mics. You can adjust the EQ of the mic to suit your preference too.
Haven’t had any issues with the wireless connection. Stays connected, no drop outs, crackling noise or intermittent mic cuts. This was mentioned in some of the early reviews but I think they’ve fixed it with firmware updates (bought it in July 2023).
Battery life is good. I’ll get 1-2 weeks out of it depending on how much I’m gaming. Doesn’t take too long to charge either.
The only major negative for me is the sidetone feature. This was excellent on the wired Blackshark V2 but the wireless model is a substantial downgrade. Even at 100% the sidetone is less noticeable and when it’s around 90-100%, you get a slight static/hissing noise. You won’t notice it during most gameplay though. Your voice also doesn’t sound 100% natural with sidetone, takes a while to get used to. I can’t live without it though as I always end up shouting with sidetone off.
There’s no active ANC so you only get passive. It does a good enough job as the cups fully seal your ears.
An excellent, comfortable and lightweight set of headphones
I managed to drop my old headphones on the floor and break the microphone. I needed a high quality pair of headphones, and fast for professional reasons. Ordered these as they were available for next morning delivery. I do not regret buying these. Maybe not as good as some of the really expensive audiophile bins but works very well for video game developments and general use.
Outstanding!!
I had the older version of these which I smashed over my monitor when I failed at Elder Scrolls Online Veteran Mailstrom Arena for what feels like the 50th time.
And I’m glad I did, because these are ton better than the old ones. The sound stage is unreal, I can hear details in games that wasn’t there before.
You need to install Razer Synapes 3.x, enable THX Spatial Audio, Sound Normalisation, Bass Boost and Voice Clarity and your mind will be blow in games like the above – I can hear ever distant cricket chirping that I couldn’t before and the experience was quite emotional for immersive play.
Razer nailed it this time. That’s saying a lot.

Holy Grail of headphone mics and sound quality
Okay so off the bat this headset is awesome, great sound quality, thx surround sound supported, sexy silhouette (makes you look like a true pilot!) and the mic. Ooooooh the mic, in 15 years of gaming and using all kinds of different headsets and microphones this one is really something rivalling that of some standing microphones in my opinion, on base settings the mic is crispy and clear, so clear in-fact my friends say I don’t sound like me while speaking, they say I sound too good (if that’s an issue or you already have an alluring voice then be weary!!)
If you’re aiming for quality sound and voice output then this headset is hands down the way to go, nothing will be sneaking past you anymore
Not the sharpest tool in the box
This headset is just ok nothing really special about it. It does what it needs to and no more, on hindsight I should have opted to get ones which have volume control for either game or chat so you can adjust to what suits you best these headphones don’t have that hence why I’m writing this, my advice If you are a PC gamer spend a little extra and get ones that do what I have mentioned. Apart from that they are just headphones for gaming and nothing more.
sturdy build quality, great sound but bad ear cushion quality
pros: great build quality, ok microphone, nice responsive tactile volume dial
cons: mic could be better, ear cushions stain from 1 month of use “if you use the white colour version”, non replaceable headband
Fantastic
This headset is fantastic, sound quality is great and very comfy… the drivers which can be installed gives the user a chance to change everything about the sound to tailor-make it for them…. highly recommend to anybody.
Happy
Had issues with some did a exchange this one works perfectly so happy thanks
Good headphones.
Headphones used for gaming on a PS5 & PC.
Headphones are designed to be used on PC with Razer software, unsure if customisations made in the Razer software on PC, carry over to PS5.
Initially had problems with the microphone not working, however this has resolved itself.
From music, to traveling to gaming and competing in Simulator gaming sports, I have gove through so many headsets in the last 20+ years. I have tred many brands and am always dissapointed when very expensive headsets fall apart and break after a short period of time.
After my trusted Turtle Beach Elite Pro V1 died, it was time to do the research and look for the next replacement. I found the BlackShark V2 and V2 Pro’s by Razer, and looked at countless youtube videos and written reviews, and I was surprised to find a product with unamimous decison in reviews, with so many saying this product is one of the best headsets ever owned.
I initially bought the BlackShark V2 Pro (wireless) and I was blown away by them. Price wise at the time they were very reasonable compared to other headsets I owned. The comfort, the qaulity of build, the software, the functions and most importantly the SOUND… everything was great. I was so impressed I had to buy a second pair as a spare set.
I found the differnce between the BlackShark V2 (wired) and V2 pro (wireless) editions is mainly this version (V2) is wired with a 3.5 audio jack. Mostly everything else is the same. Same 50mm drivers, same sound, same software… but these I can go out with and use on a phone, laptop, ipod with 3.5 jack, where as the more expensive wireless ones you can only use with USB as it has a dongle.
One differnce I discovered was the microphone. On the V2 Pro, the microphone (which looks the same between both models) provides mic monitoring on both PC and PS4/PS5… the mic monitoring is configured via Razer’s PC software, and then it just works on everything so you can hear what you are saying. However, on these V2 wired edition, although it looks like the same microphone, it only provides mic monitoring on PC. So, configuring the mic monitoring via Razers Synapse PC software, provides mic monitoring on PC, but not on Mac or Playstation 4 and 5… This I feel is a big shame. It would have been good if Razer used the exact same mic (or internal software) so the V2 could proide mic monitoring just like the V2 Pro.
So in this case I use my V2 Pro if on Playstation, or Mac, and I only use these wired V2’s for ipod or 3.5 devices where I do not need a microphone with monitoring. If it had the same mic as the V2 Pro, I would have given 5 stars.
Overall I am very happy with them. I have since bought them for friends and reccomended to others
Don't know how long they will las
Went for these after the wireless ones didn’t work out. The wireless pair felt better to wear but unfortunately kept disconnecting/reconnecting to the computer randomly. After setting these up I was very happy with my buy, sound is great and they are very comfortable to wear. Until recently these worked brilliantly, but the last few weeks it appears the usb wire has started to go, with a few disconnects and now a static buzz only fixed when I move the lead about a bit. I got these 9months ago, I would expect for the price the headset to last longer than that.
Audio quality great.. However it does not come with the THX Spatial audio feature mentioned. You have to pay an additional 20 to activate this feature.
Amazing headset and very comfy
Everything about this headset is very good, but the cable is a bit sho
Scam. Made to break.
Bought these at the start of 2022. It is now 20/1/2023.
Since buying the product has had software issues, causing audio levels to be completely unbalanced between each speaker, and has recently started being caused by moving the headset wire VERY slightly.
In addition, the wire, coils insanely easily, and mine arrived with serveral sharp kinks in it, which is what I believe to be the original source of the damage. As they arrived, with volume levels misbalanced, and now leads to cut outs in volume when the wire is at certain angles.
I will be filing for a refund, if not replacement.
I am exceptionally careful with my tech, I have little money, and cannot afford to be replacing things, so I make so I don’t have to.
Overwhelmed
Purchased these for my son for Christmas, he did have a set of Logitech G733’s but they kept disconnecting and the USB-C charging port was very temperamental and most often then not the headphones wouldn’t charge. I never chose these Razer Blackshark headphones, he actually requested them as his friends have them and are the bees knees apparently.
They come very nicely presented in a typical Razer package, with the lid opened they look expensive, fetched out the build quality is immediately noticeable, very top quality I must say and I would easily say they’re built far superior to the Logitech ones.
Connection was straight forward, just plug in the USB dongle and the headphones immediately connected and were recognised by the PC plus the Razer App picked them up.
I’ve tried these for myself and they’re very comfortable to wear plus even without the volume on the outside sound is blocked out more or less. The sound quality is epic, deep bass, clear vocals, no distortion whatsoever and zilch lag, the microphone isn’t bad either with true voice reproduction.
With the App on the PC one can see the battery level and also change a load of settings plus allow for personalised adjustments based on profile and games played.
My son has said these do live up to the hype that his friends harp on about, they’re also much better than the G733 in all aspects plus they charge once the cable is connected. A full battery will give you a days worth of gaming but I would suggest charging these up overnight as they do take a while to charge which I’m putting down to the micro-USB port, a USB-C type port would’ve been better and offered faster charging.
Overall, a 5 star product and highly recommended by my son and I tend to agree.
Great headset, until you put it on full volume.
These headphones are GREAT. Mic quality 10/10. Audio quality 10/10. Bass 10/10. Surround sound 8/10 for headphones with a 3.5mm jack. Only one problem though, and this might just be a problem only with me, as a defective unit. But if your an audiophile, these MAY sound unbalanced on FULL volume. As in, the left is just a FRACTION of a bit louder than the right. This can be easily fixed by lowering the volume on the headset and increasing it on your computer. The bass completely destroys other sounds if you turn on the provided “surround sound audio” feature so just keep it off since it sounds much better without it anyway.
I researched for two days on which headset I would buy. I’d just gotten an ASUS Strix laptop, a headset is essential due to gaming laptop fan volume! What became very quickly apparent was website, after website, after website having this model at #1 in their lists, often above far pricier models.
This seemed weird, too good to be true so I started doing more research. I went to rtings website and got a list of every headset on the market, and began comparing the specs and reviews of the Blackshark V2 against top end, highest priced sets, and mid range ones in the same price bracket. I also did this process on other well known tech websites. The results were astonishing! This headset got rated better than models 2-2.5x the price! After probably 10 hours of researching and cross referencing I felt there was no other option and decided on the special edition model.
I’ve tested it out now and I am blown away. The sound quality is astounding, the best I’ve experienced with a gaming headset – easily. It was rated as having very good neutral sound (true sound, without muddying from effects and enhancements), and it really does. Everything is crystal clear, bass sounds are punchy without distortion, mid range is all there, and treble sings. Also, the noise cancelling is excellent, it keeps the 49db fan noise of my machine completely silenced to my ears. The headset is also incredibly comfortable, and I have very sensitive ears so make of that what you will. I find the build quality fantastic.
The sound card and synapse app that allow EQ customisation is a true game changer. Any minor shortcomings the audio range may have can be completely rectified and bring out the full potential of these amazing headphones. To that end I found a brilliant guide from a music producer on reddit and I heartily recommend these settings:
In Synapse:
Keep volume below 75 (74 is recommended, this is to prevent audio outs which can occur at higher levels). *This doesn’t affect the physical volume using the knob on the set*
Turn all enhancements off.
Set custom EQ with these in the following order: 0, 0, -3, -3, +1, 0, +3, -1, -4, +8
THX Spacial is personal preference, I personally use “Dolby Atmos For Headphones” on my laptop as I find it superior, but there are a fair amount of games that specifically use the former, so I’ll experiment.
Overall this is a truly exceptional headset, especially considering the price. I’m a solid loyal customer from now on, I look forward to a V3 down the line!
10/10
Having worked in many recording-studios, I’ve used many headphones for recording and monitoring. At home, I’d been using Turtle-Beach, purely for listening to internet sites or a spot of gaming now and again. These Razer Blackshark V.2 headphones are really good, especially for the money.
They have a nice build, braided cord and a detachable mic. The ear pieces fit perfectly over one’s ears and their padding is very comfortable. They are light, but don’t feel cheap.
Straight into my pc, I played some music via Wav files, that I know well and these cans were very good with no tweaking. They have 50mm diaphragms with titanium in the ear pieces, so one would expect a beefy bass sound and they have! The mids aren’t ‘sucked in’ and the trebles are normal, nothing piercing.
However, these really come alive when using Razer Synapse software. Use the custom EQ and try -2 250hz -1 500hz +1 4khz +4 8khz and +7 16khz (others on 0) (Don’t add any bass boost etc) This is where they really shine, with just a little tweaking.
The microphone is okay, not a premium mic, but fine enough to chat with for gamers. One can alter it’s EQ response with another 10 band EQ. The spacial sound works well in different programs BUT leave it OFF when using your custom EQ to listen to music. I’ve A/B’d various albums from Queen to Zeppelin to Bowie and these are not for the ‘spacial sound’ option.
I picked these up for about 62 and they are worth that price. You can also use just the 3.6mm output into Xbox/PS5 etc.
this headset is one of the best if not the bes
ignore all the stupid reviews about the bad mic and the connection and whatnot ive had one of these headsets since day one and im still using it now and just orderd the siege version just for a different colour really. so connection issue ive never once had a problem at all. the only bugging thing from time to time is the razer app as we all know can be a bit of an annoyance setting the headset up can be pretty difficult to but once set up right in the app my god does this headset bang. you can hear most fps games 10 fold with footsteps no problem and the bass is beyond ridiculously good same as the sound quality as for the mic everyone says is subpar my friends are streamers and they say the quality is just as good as some of their equipment which is probably 3x the price of what a set of these would’ve cost brand new at 180 / 200 rrp. as for the clamp and headset build its one of the best I’ve ever had the head clamp is still as good the headband hasn’t even deformed or gone flat and its 2 years old. really comfy and really light as i wear glasses i struggle to find a good comfy headset that doesn’t hurt my ears and this is the only headset that performs on all those fronts as well as being super reliable. just wish razer had put type c or a wireless charge dock variant of this headset out because its really worth it. 10/10 headset had astros a50s and they broke in 3 days crap headband clamps and same with artic pros they’re terrible
I've used this headset with a hood to keep the muffs clean and every feature has lived upto my expectations excluding the sound card. The microphone and headphones are audiably crisp and the headset itself is light and snug, I'm a big fan of the mic toggle button built into the left side and the audio nob is a nice touch compared to the standard volume adjuster on the cord found on cheaper models.

NOTA 9/10
Qualidade do som tima, fone leve e confortvel.
I spent hours looking at earphones for gaming on my new rig. I was going to spend between 100 and 150 plus or aim for a decent second hand pair. But when it comes down to it for what MOST of us will need then these in the sale at around 55 are all you need. And if you want stupidly good then start with these and upgrade over time when you have the budget. But after hours looking I’m really glad I got these now. And as for comfort hands down brilliant. Really soft on your head and so far haven’t felt too hot or uncomfortable when playing for long periods. Some of the more expensive earphones I was looking at had problems with this!!!!
The only reason these didn’t get a 5 star review is the cable. It twists really easily and is really annoying. definitely feels like from a ware and tear point of view if could get damage more quickly. Seems silly when the same model but in the ‘x – 10th anniversary edition’ has a superior cable but is the same price. I had the X edition but sent it back as though I was missing out on the sound card which comes with these but in hindsight I wasn’t. Come on Razer sort this out. You’re meant to be a premium manufacturer and despite all the good work on sound and comfort you cheap out on a cable!
Installatio

Nice headset for the price
Feedback from 14 year old son – comfortable, good sound quality, and good noise cancelling (can vouch for this as he can’t hear me when I call him down for dinner). Good headset, good build quality. Others have broken quickly but this seems to more sturdily made. Chose the wired version over the wireless version as son always forgets to charge it which means no headset for a couple of hours whilst charging. Having wired version gets over this issue.
100% TOP!
Ganz tolle Kopfhrer.
Great headphones
The headset did come in a slighty tarnished box nonetheless the headphones where safe and im very happy for the price this is great value big step up from my previous headse
O sistema THX no achei to bem elaborado, prefiro usar sem. Microfone tbm superior ao do HyperX Cloud Revolver.

Comfortable
This is up there with one of the most comfortable headsets I’ve ever worn. It’s light as a feather (but still sturdy) and the ear cushions and headband padding are thick and soft. Due to the design of the drivers, the bass, mids and highs are all very detailed as standard. There is plenty of volume and is well suited for FPS games. If using on PC, the included usb audio adapter allows customisation of EQ settings, surround sound positioning and various other settings through the razer synapse software to increase the audio quality to suit the use
Man hrt z.b. Schritte/Schsse von Gegner wirklich merkbar genauer!
—Mikrofonqualitt 5/5—
fr ~80 – 5/5
fr 129,99/119,99 – 4,5/5
