Rechargeable Camping Lantern, Retro Outdoor Portable Lantern with 4000 Power Bank, 3 Modes Outdoor Searchlight for Emergency, Portable Ultra Bright USB Tent Lights for Fishing/Garden/Power Cuts
Build: This camping lantern is mainly made from durable plastic, with a decently basic design. It has a metal cage that protects the clear plastic covering the LED bulbs. Portable and can be hung as it has a handle. The silicone covering the USB A and C ports is snugly fitted, making it water-resistant.
Function: Straightforward to use and rechargeable. It has three modes, and each mode is dimmable. The brightest level is good enough to illuminate a small area. And it has a charge and discharge function, which is suitable for charging devices during an emergency.
Overall, it is too early to say if it is durable, but I am glad it comes with a lifetime warranty. Recommendable.
I am actually surprised as to how good this lamp actually is. There ar many similar products but they tend to be produced from almost 100% plastic, they are as bright / dim and they don’t have three white colour modes as this does.
This does have a plastic top and base buit the lamp itself has a nice metal bar cage around a “glass” covered lamp.
This is a good lamp to have around the home , it is good for night trekking with and it is good for camping but for me it is ideal for travelling with.
There are many nations that still have energy issues, with regular power cuts wether intentional or not. Those nations are located in Africa, Asia and South America, with some nations rationing the electricity. Where electricity rationng is there are many issues such as not being able to recharge one’s Smart Phone and whole areas being blacked out at scheduled time and remaining without power for many hours, sometimes days. That is where this nice little lamp comes in handy as not only will it provide light where needed, as long as it is always kept charged up one can use the USB Port to recharge a phone as the internal, rechargeable battery is not only a power source to provide light it also has a secondary use of being a power bank.
When this lamp is fully charged it can easily fully recharge a Smart Phone and still hold 1,000mAh of energy to provide lighting until one gets the next opportunity to recharge the lamp.
This lamp is also very good for use in garden sheds and even greenhouses. It’s a nice little lamp to have on a garden table for late night drinks in the hot, sticky summer nights.
Overall, this little lamp has imressed me with it’s brightness, it’s useablility and it’s quality. This is a good value product and I am recommending it.
This rechargeable lantern has 3 different modes of lighting.
Cool White
Warm White
Natural light
The lighting output can be controlled by a twist dial on the top of the lantern.
To turn on or off, you need to press down for 2 or 3 seconds on the dial.
To change colour, you need to quick press the dial.
You receive a charging wire with the lantern (no adapter or cigarette port charger included).
This doubles up as an emergency charge bank, plug your smartphone into the lantern with a charging cable.
The life left in the lantern can be determined by the 4 blue lights at the top of the lantern. Each blue light representing 25% charge.
It can be freestanding or hung with the metal handle.
The charging port is covered by a rubber stopper, which I would presume would make this lantern waterproof, although I have not had chance to experience if it is affected by any heavy rainfall yet.
Like the idea of the emergency charge bank though. Especially if you have no access temporarily to any mains powered electricity.
Great camping latern. Portable and lightwight.
Works great, have build in power bank.
Easy to use it and its have 3 modes.
Such latern perfect for camping or garden use.
Price is good to. So surely I can recommend it to all.
This is a brilliant campsite lantern. It’s bright or as dim as you want. The brightness is controllable and is easy to operate. The battery is incredible. I gave it a precharge before my first use and then once complete left it running on full brightness. It lasted over twelve hours on full brightness.
The lamp light is bright. It also switches between three settings. The yellow lamp is very traditional and looks like a realistic old school lamp. The two others are white and daylight. They’re great for reading by.
The build quality is exceptional. It’s built well and is aesthetically pleasing. It looks like a proper traditional lamp.
I’m going camping next week and I’ll be taking this. I’ll update this review after.
Super stylish and high quality outdoor lamp. Rechargeable and comes with wire to charge; arrived charged so I was able to use straight away. Different light settings and brightness so perfect for a lot of uses: BBQs, gardens, camping, even indoor use as it really is lovely. I wish it was waterproof though (that said I’ve just left it outside in the rain for three days before realising it wasn’t and it does still work!).
Really nice quality lamp , for camping, or general outdoor activities.
Mine came fully charged.
It shows the charge on the top with the green dots..
It charges via USB and comes with the cable..
You turn the knob on the top for brightness.
Press once for white light, twice for warm white, three times for a mixture of both, and press and hold to turn off.
My only criticism would be that the plastic comes in a protective film. Its really hard to get the film off, as its behind the cage, and they don’t come apart.
This does not affect its performance though, its simply a fiddly process upon opening.
Recommended.
This metal camping light has a great retro look and feel. It’s rechargeable and you can adjust the brightness and light modes using the silver button/ dial on the top. It can be a warm or bright light both of which look really cool. You can sit this on a table or hang it up. It’s far to nice to actually use for camping. It works much better as an outdoor table lamp for evenings on the patio.
We live in the countryside and whenever there is a strong gust of wind, we have a power cut. This little lantern is going to sort us out next time. It’s sturdy, retro in style and easy to charge – holding on to the charge until it’s required. There are three different shades of light and a range of 360 degree beam strength. Depending on how it’s used, a full charge can last between 5 and 50 hours. It would be great for camping, for sitting in the garden or saving the day when the lights go out. Great item. Recommended.
Press and hold the top button for 2 seconds to turn on/off, and turn the button clockwise or counterclockwise to change the brightness of the light. It has 3 lighting modes: white light, warm white light and natural light.
The adjustable light can provide bright lighting effects or warm light at night.
This outdoor light charges via type-C, while the base’s USB port can be reversed to charge your phone.
The outdoor lighting is of good workmanship and light weight. The handle design is convenient for carrying and hanging.
Rechargeable Camping Lantern, Retro Outdoor Portable Lantern with 4000 Power Bank …….
Brand: Lionight
Short version:
Looks nice, 3 lighting modes, brightness control, USB-C charging takes about 2 hours with a fast charger, lasts 3 hours on full brightness, 4,000mAh power bank, (I got 3750mAh).
Longer version:
This is a great camping light, it comes in a retail box, has the lamp, a USB-C charging lead and instruction leaflet. On the base under a rubber cover is the USB-C charge port and a USB-A port for using it as a 4000mAh power bank. On the top is a single rotary control, press for 2 seconds and it turns the light on / off, a short press with switch between lighting modes, these are bright white, warm white and natural. Inside the lamp are two sets of lights, in the top behind a white diffuser are the bright white lights and vertically around the reflector are the 3 warm white LEDs. The ‘natural’ setting is just both sets of lights on at the same time. The brightness of the lights is adjustable by rotating the knob on the top. There is also a row of blue LEDs on the top to indicate battery status.
In use I found it to be very bright, this is not like a torch though and doesn’t have a beam but is much brighter than an old-stye paraffin lamp which it is designed to look similar too, (To me it looks more like the top of a light house).
From fully discharged the battery took 2 hours to fully recharge at 5-volts, 2-amps. From fully charged with both sets of lights on full brightness it lasted just over 3 hours. (This could be useful to know as it doesn’t mention this in the advertisement). I checked the capacity of the battery, and this was found to be 13,300mWh (it is rated at around 15,000mWh). The battery lifetime maybe limited to just 3 hours but note that this is on full brightness ‘natural’ setting so selecting just one set of lights and reducing the brightness should extend the battery life considerably. If you are camping or out fishing etc, you are more likely to need a power bank to charge the lamp rather than using the lamp as a power bank.
This is an excellent lamp for camping or for when you get a power cut but won’t last long on full brightness. It can also be a great ambient light for your dining room table.
This is a good lantern to use when camping or just when sitting out in the garden after dark. It is easy to charge and easy to use with a light that you can alter according to have bright you need it. Well designed
I really like this light. It’s well-made out of metal and it has a retro look with all the convenience of a modern piece of equipment. It arrived with some charge, which I always think is a good thing, as it’s held that charge from the factory, and it has four small blue LED lights to indicate how much charge is left. It’s controlled with the silver knob on the top, with a press to switch it on and off, and you twist it to choose the brightness of the light. The light itself has three modes and you can choose between a natural light, a warm white light and a bright white light, all of which look good. I didn’t realise how useful the choice of light and brightness would be, until we changed it from the natural light that we were using for the evening, to the bright light at its most powerful, so we look for a lost earring. It can also be used as an emergency power bank, which is always useful.
Although the light is practical and can be used when you’re out and about and camping, for example, it also looks really good just sat on a patio table and it will illuminate quite a large space.
At the time of writing this review, the cost is 20.99, which is probably the maximum I would pay for it, but it is worth it.
This is a great lantern. The latern is made of metal and plastic. The handle and the wire surrounds are made of black painted metal and the rest is black plastic.
Brightness
When I turn it on. The light appeared only suitable for a box room or a small tent. However, when I found that you can increase the brightness and it will light up a room of 20sqm. When you first turn it on, the default is at the lowest setting.
Light Colours
It has both cool white (LEDs) and warm yellow light (or you can have them both on).
Running Time
It claims 3.5hour to 50hours working time (I have not tested it for that long).
PowerOn Button
When I first pressed the silver button to turn on. All I saw was 4 blue status light. However, there was no light. I kept turning the knob and nothing happened. However, you need to hold the silver button down for 2 seconds for it to turn on the light. (So don’t assume it is faulty!). I don’t like this design, as people will forget. Or if you lend it to a friend, they will think it is not working correctly. This is not so obvious.
The knob does rotate, so you can decide adjust the brightness.
Powerbank
It also has built in power bank, so you can charge your phone or power another device. You can see photo, I was charging my phone.
Photos
Please note when taking photos, I did not remove the plastic protector, on the plastic glass.
USB Cable
Why do they include a USB cable?. They expect people to have a phone charger, why do they think people will not have a USB cable. If they did include one (perhaps for the power bank). They should include a place to stow it on the lantern. It is just more clutter to me.
Waterproof
I can’t tell if this is waterproof (for outdoor use). The USB power do have a rubber protector.
A basic rechargeable light source that provides a good strong light and three hues. It looks OK given it’ll be in the dark though the dimmer / on off switch is a little cheap plastic.
Came fully charged and lasts an absolute age; easily enough for a night fish, few nights camp read / cook or garden table on a long summer’s evening or two. Great convenience and while not exactly small is still perfectly portable if you have space to carry it.
I have to take the dog out into a pitch black garden in the middle of the night so I ordered this. It’s easy to charge and easy to use. Simply hold the button for 2 seconds and it comes on. Then turn the dial on top to make it brighter or dimmer. It produces a really good amount of light and if I hang it from a tree branch lights up most the garden. There are 3 different modes and a battery indicator light. It would be perfect for camping but also for lots of other uses.
Looks good. Has a classic antique look to it but it modern in terms of performance. Well made. Easy to charge and does not take long. Easy to control lighting. It can be used an emergency power bank for charging the phone. Always useful. The real use though is the lighting. The quality of lighting is good and as I said controllable. It would be useful for working outside if no power supply. Not a bad light to keep in the car for an emergency or in the house for a power cut. Great for camping as light and sturdy. Great for the garden for the bbq or evening party as it gets dark. Practical, useful and works well. I like it.
This rechargeable camping lantern by Lionight is in the style of an old-school hurricane lamp, but with all the convenience of modern LED lighting. This lamp is simple to use with the three lighting modes and dimming being controlled by a single rotating press-button on the top — you can choose between white light, warm white light and natural light at the brightness level you want. This lantern has a built-in 4000mAh rechargeable battery and can double-up as a power-bank for use in emergencies — it is supplied with a suitable USB-C charging cable. Although designed for use outdoors this lantern is not waterproof so should not be used in the rain unless you are in your tent! Currently around twenty-one pounds from Amazon this camping lantern is well-featured for the price and deserves five stars for it’s intended purpose.
