Pricey but for a good set of knives you need to invest and dont compare to cheaper knives. Make sure you wash and dry by hand, do not put in the dishwashe
Cuts very well, looks good on the bench top, well-used and a happy purchase. No particular reason for 4 rather than 5 stars, apart from a slight weariness with demands for reviews. 😉
Great look, great feel and, above all, the blades are amazing.
I can’t recommend these knives enough! They’re incredibly sharp (watch your fingers) and have held their edge well in the two months I’ve had them. They feel good in your hand and look great on the counter. Great value for money.
Some reviews complain that the block is a slightly different shade to the knife handles, but this is to be expected with a natural wood product.
Quality before anything, well balanced, very good quality. Very, very happy. Thanks
At first, I was slightly underwhelmed by the apparent sharpness of these knives, but immediately noticed the improved quality during the first use in the kitchen, as confirmed by since slicing my fingertip. So yes, these are indeed sharp enough. I don’t have experience with sharpening knives myself, but with a bit of work, I think these could be absolutely “razor” sharp. I’m doing my best to take care of the steel, so I have no blemishes yet to report on.
The build quality is excellent and the handles feel as though they’ll likely last for years to come. The wood used in both the block and handles looks great and certainly adds to the aesthetics of the kitchen. There were some slight scuff marks on the block, but not enough to drop a star on this rating. The handles match the colour / grain of the block. A few minor inconsistencies in the handles will occur as of course not each cut of wood will look identical.
Although these knives are stainless steel, the chromium content (i.e. the stainless part) is slightly less than typical stainless steel. This trade-off means the knives are a bit harder and sharper than usual stainless, but it does mean you’ll need to make sure the knives are cleaned and dried promptly after use to avoid rust over time – don’t put these in the dishwasher.
I’m very happy with the investment, which has so far added to the enjoyment of home cooking.
Bought these for my daughter who lives some distance away so not seen them yet. She is very pleased with them. Personally I would buy single knives to get exactly what I wanted hence not 5 stars but she wanted a set. They are very stylish, good range and size for her needs. Wooden handles and sharp so you have to take care of them. Not to be put in dishwasher and should protect and maintain the edge for best performance. If you want a set and will take care of them these are the best option I could find in the price range. They are working very well, 5 stars if you want a set of this sort.
Great to hold, beautiful finish, suits any kitchen.
Most importantly, sharp and superb build quality.
These knives are a thing of beauty. Styled as Scandinavian, they look really cool. The ash handles are lovely and the angles on the block add a real stylish look.
They are really nicely weighted and feel well balanced in use. The blades are super sharp and of real high quality. With the right care and sharpening with a whetstone they will stay super sharp and last forever.
The only down side perhaps is that the wooden handles and wooden block will need extra care with washing/drying, and probably treating to keep their appearance and stop deterioration over time with washing. But this doesn’t detract from the quality.
Decent value for money too.
Lovely looking knives just not sure if I made right choice with the wood handles
These are of very good quality, feels good and looks good, Very sharp, but that’s what you want in this type of knives, just keep them out of the way of kids, and be careful yourself.
Look great, work v well, AND made in Sheffield. Whats not to like?
It is a gift so I cannot vouch for their use
At just over 100, this is an excellent value block of knives. Certainly each knife is worth over 20. What you get is two small, multi-purpose knives, a long carving knife, a large chopping knife, and a very decent bread knife. Each knife is beautifully crafted. The wood (carbonised ash) looks and feels great and is even anti-bacterial. The steel is light yet robust and has a lovely matte finish. They are very sharp! I’ve used mine for about a fortnight and admittedly they have dulled a little, but will sharpen up nicely.
The wooden handles are well fixed and smart. The blades are perfect for all size of job. These are of a high quality steel. My favourite is the bread knife. The price is great for the set.
These are a top of the range set. The block is well made and attractive.
Nice knife block. The knives feel nice and balanced when being used. Good quality and look very nice on the kitchen side.
Overall – a wonderful addition to any kitchen, so long as you can keep the knives out of young children’s hands! Highly recommended.
