My wonderful daughter gave me an Amazon gift card for fathers day. Knowing I’m extremely difficult to buy for. I decided that having a great deal of time on my hands with Lockdown, I would try and teach myself a new skill. Having had a little experience at School with music lessons, I know I have quite a good ear for music.

However, little did I know that my Father’s day present would be pulled from my very hands by “she who must be obeyed “.

After the initial excitement of getting it, and getting me to play some simple tunes I remembered from school, I came down one morning to find her sat in front of the keyboard, headphones on, and self teaching herself how to play. Initially just following some guidance on YouTube, she was soon playing some easily identifiable tunes. Bank onto Amazon I purchased a number of various piano books for beginners. Also some key stickers to make it easier for her to follow the lessons.

I can honestly say, it has been a sheer pleasure to watch the smile on her face when she masters another tune. She is currently mastering “bohemian rhapsody”.
I personally believe by Christmas she will be playing like a natural.

Despite this being meant as a Fathers Day gift, seeing the pleasure she gets, is actually a gift in itself.

The keyboard is the 61 key version, has a nice LCD display with numerous features like various other instruments and melodies she can select. I am now continually called into the conservatory and asked if I can recognise the tune she is playing.

An absolute ideal gift for anyone from a child to adult, giving hours of enjoyment. The Rockjam keyboard seems to get the very best reviews, apart from the keyboards that you would need to spend hundreds of pounds to get. At 49.99 this is an excellent keyboard. Especially if you want to see if you enjoy it before purchasing a much more expensive one.

In my opinion it has everything a beginner needs in a keyboard to learn and practice. It would be ideal for, say a child who is taking music lessons at school and needs to practice at home. It has a 3.5 headphones jack allowing you to practice without annoying anyone else.

You get what you pay for but good for beginners. There’s no sensitivity on the keys so one sound fits all but to be expected for price.

This is my best lockdown purchase hands down! The set up is very easy to assemble and the stand is very sturdy.

The piano stool was uncomfortable so I’m currently using a dining chair until I can find something better.

I’ve had this keyboard for around a week and a half and I’ve progressed so much. Using the free months trial to Simply Piano, I was playing with two hands within 1-2 days. The price of this compared to buying it all separately is more than worth it!

I should also add that I’m an adult beginner. I have no previous experience and this has been perfect.

I have played piano for many years, having downsized my son who plays kindly gave my digi piano a good home.
The keyboard arrived today and is amazing. I haven’t stopped playing it this morning.
It sounds good , fits beautifully in a corner , the stool is well made , and for the price , I give this high marks, highly recommended.
This will be my 70th birthday present, in advance. Ha

Really good keyboard. My only criticism is that it turns on at full volume rather than remembering what it was on as its buttons and not a dial. Sadly my children do not seem to care or notice!!

Hi, the keyboard no longer makes a sound. This was bought on the 19th March and even with the volume up high or trying with the headphones it doesn’t make any sound even though it registered like it does. Please help. The keyboard has been very good otherwise and we would just like a solution to this. Thank you

I bought this for my 8 year old son. It has everything you need. The keyboard bolts to the table so its nice and secure. Chair is really comfy and lots of different sound options. The headphones are great when you dont want a headache. Couldnt fault it really as for beginners I cant imagine anything better. Theres more options to record and play different styles which we have not worked out yet.

Bought this for my little boys for Christmas. They really enjoy learning simple songs on it and listening to the pre-recorded tunes. It’s easy to use. I bought some key stickers which makes it easier but realized they can with some which is great! Only issue is our headphones broke after about 3 weeks and am super disappointed as that helped so mom and dad didn’t always have to listen to practise. Ha!

Great i loved it but sent it back because my kid didnt, not as open minded as me. Maybe i will buy a smaller one, less intimidating to a beginner. Also i bought it when it was 99.99

This is just great for beginners. Kncoked one star off as the stand isnt very sturdy, other than that sound and everything else is good. Also wish it had a record button to playback whats just been played.

This was the best product I could have bought – it comes with everything you need: chair, music sheet holder, headphones, stand, keyboard (obviously) and even stickers to place on the individual keys which illustrate the music symbols (not just A, B, C, etc). The app – simply piano – is also a great app to learn how to read music and play at the same time (shame about the price, however).
To sum up, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This was a gift for my adult son. He seemed to like it when he tried it out. He wants to learn piano so I got him this to learn the basics. Apart from a sticky key at the bottom of the lower register I believe it’s okay. He only returned home yesterday so I don’t know much else yet.

Got this for my 9 year daughter for Xmas. It’s a Lot bigger than I thought (i didn’t check dimensions ) she is a total beginner and hasn’t stopped playing since Xmas day she’s mastered a few tunes in a Short space of time. Easy to assemble and a really good purchase . Even the apps on iPad to teach her how to play are amazing . The best bit is the earphones so if she wants to get up at 6am and play she can without disturbing the rest of the house .

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter this Christmas as she is really keen to learn to play the keyboard. She absolutely loves it and has hardly been off it since she opened it yesterday! Excellent keyboard to learn and great value for money with the stand, headphones and stool. Highly recommend as a first teaching keyboard and suitable for all ages

Bought this as a beginner. It comes with a free trail for an app and comes with stickers to label up all the keys. The sound is good and you can plug in any headphones so you don’t have to annoy anyone around you. However you can’t use the app when using headphones.

Bought for my daughter who has shown great piano playing skills on a phone app with limited keys. This blew her away, she was so very happy to receive this gift. Easy to set up, open the box, take it out, put the stand and stool/seat together (both very easy), fix the keyboard to the stand (so it doesn’t slip off), plug it in and start playing. Looks very nice lit up with the blue screen which shows you what instrument you are playing. Lots of combinations of instruments, backing, beats, noises, clapping, various other noises and sounds so you can really get creative and have lots of musical fun. Longer sound with use of the pedal. Headphones plug in nicely. One good thing is that the piano sound is a lovely piano sound, not like an electric piano, sounds like a nice real piano. The keys have a nice bounce to them. You can record ONE song/play of your music and play it back. We really do like it a lot.

For a beginner these keyboards are fantastic. Why would you want to spend loads on something you might not be able to get the hang of? They sound decent enough, not perfect but more than good enough to learn on. The stool is of very good quality, and the headphones do the job. I would strongly recommend buying these for a beginner.

My musical 15 year old wants to teach himself keyboards and so have bought him this for Christmas. He set it up very easily and has been really impressed with it so far. Particularly likes that it has a sustain pedal, touch screen style controls and comes with a stool. Sound isn’t bad – that is my only criticism – but for the price, very good value for money. Have just ordered some removable note stickers to help him learn the notes more quickly. Would certainly recommend for beginners.

It’s early days (daughter’s Christmas present), but this Keyboard looks and sounds great. Multiple functions and tones are available. There’s a built-in tutor and demos, and the item came with a 25 card to get a tutorial through my i-pad. The stand and stool seem sturdy enough. And the supplied headphones will be a welcome relief to the rest of the family!

The first system we received had a faulty LCD screen but we had an exchange pretty quickly. The replacement unit seems perfect so far as a beginners keyboard, although some of the tones and rhythms don’t seem to match up with when they are selected.

The seat and stand are sturdy and for the price the keyboard works well. Not one for an experienced player though

I would say if your a beginner you should get this piano keyboard and if your a beginner you should buy the stickers to so you no what note your pressing the stickers don’t come with this piano keyboard but you can buy them on amazon I really enjoy learning how to play new songs the stand is good but it don’t fold up the stool is really comfortable but after a hour or two it does start to feel uncomfortable but what I do is play on my piano keyboard till I start to feel uncomfortable siting on the stool to long then I do some thing else its good to have a break any way then I go back on my piano keyboard its really good fu

This arrived quickly and for the price includes quite a lot. Headphones are cheap sounding which can be expected and the stand is a bit weak. Also you can see that corners have been cut with the keyboard software, i.e. 100 different instrument sounds but a lot of them are all exactly the same (“string1” to “string 6” are all the same). That said, it plays very well and for the money is a great purchase. Easy to set up and sound is very good.

I bought this out of impulse to have a tinkle on plus learn to play something. The missus actually likes it too. I was surprised at how light the keyboard is compared to older ones I had handled before. The speakers themselves are pretty loud when on full volume which surprisingly is set at that level on default when turning the keyboard on! The keys have a solid feel and a nice spring to them. There is a good variety of tunes, rythems and demo songs so there will be something I (and others) will be able to learn and play with relative ease plus music that suits all ages.

Down side: some of the different instruments sound rather tinny and not quite right although this is a minor niggle for a beginners keyboard.

In all, you get a lot for the price and kids will love this. A cheap way to see if learning a keyboard instrument is managable by you.
