I read the reviews before purchasing as it is a lot of money to spend and get it wrong. My (adult) daughter has been going on about a keyboard recently and I caved to get her this as her Christmas present. I am delighted. Looks great, sounds great and the features seem unending. I know she will be thrilled with it. Some reviews say it is cheap and to be fair, if you are a professional musician, it is. For a sometime, wannabe rock star however, it is a fab piece of kit.

The keyboard has a good sound, useful accessories for beginners. By end of first day son was playing a tune.

Prefer this to the previous RJ661SK keyboard, as this one has a MIDI interface on it.
Using an Apark Midi Cable – USB Type C Connector to Type B Midi Interface (like a USB printer), to the port on the keyboard. Using the Simply Piano app on Fire Tablet HD 8 it worked no problems. Please note that you specifically need to use a MIDI cable and not the cable that came with your tablet /phone as I believe they are wired differently.

A great product for a beginner, except for the stand, which is rather wobbly – at least on our carpet. The sound quality is, as they advise, best if used with headphones – and linked to my iPad via the Midi link at back for lessons on Simply Piano (extra cable needed). Best thing about using headphones is that no one can hear how dreadfully I play!

I bought this for my granddaughter’s 9th birthday and she loves it. Her mum downloaded the app which has been brilliant and easy to follow. The tone of the keyboard is lovely so all in all a good purchase.

This keyboard was easy to set up and has a good range of instruments rhythms sounds etc. It’s easy to play anything but hard to play the piano properly! I’m struggling to find a way to record directly into my computer via a usb cable!

Really nice keyboard for an affordable price considering it came with the chair, stand and headphones and note stickers for beginners! (A4 sheet music not included, I printed that myself). The sound quality is great (of course not the same as a piano but that doesn’t matter for me as a beginner to be honest). Would recommend!

Bought this due to lockdown boredom having never played an instrument before, but its fairly easy to pick up if your willing to put the time in. Really lightweight but the equipment seems decent quality, plus you get a lode of extras so for the money its a great buy. Thanks!

This is a wonderful rock jam keyboard its got so much tones and rhythms 100 of each its big strong and great value for money my granddaughter was so happy when she saw it and i also have been having a go on it. Which all what as been going on this year with the virus it was so lovely to see my granddaughter happy as it made me happy too. THANK YOU

Great for people just starting their piano learning as well as intermediate. I am a piano teacher and it is great for online lessons to present something to my students. If you’re advanced or a concert pianist, of course you should look for a wider note range and sound quality but for harmonising/teaching the beginners/basic presentation is absolutely great for such price

Brought this keyboard for Christmas and my son loves it he has non stopped used it i think it’s perfect for a child learning even my partner had a go we have so much fun trying out our skills on Christmas I felt sorry for my neighbours but on a good note does come with head phones which is perfect if you have heard it for 4 hours straight sound quality is good to thanks for a great service arrived on time

Brilliant piece of kit. Bought for my 8 year old daughter so beginner level; even my 15 year old son has got in the act so definitely a fab buy. Not planned but it’s given my two kids a shared interest and it’s lovely to see the both of them teaching themselves tunes. Price extremely reasonable too considering you get the keyboard, stand (which is height adjustable) and stool.

I’m a beginner trying to learn keyboard. I find this one very easy to learn on. I love that it comes with note stickers so it’s easier to remember notes. The simply piano free month trial is really good and I’ve continued using it now, paying only a small price each month. It is the easiest way to learn for me. It comes with a stool and stand which are easy to put together.

I got this for my daughter who is 8 for Christmas. It is her first keyboard and it is amazing, love that it comes with all the accessories including headphones so she can play as much as she likes. The stand and seat are great too. It’s been the most played with item she received for Christmas

I bought this for my 12yr old daughter after she showed an interest in Music at school. So far, it has been the most sucessful christmas present! She opened it at 5:30pm, and hasn’t stopped playing since – hours go by!
The earphones are a really nice touch, but be careful, she managed to break hers within 4 hours so keep them safe. The app is brilliant, she was able to read simple music within a day, it even surprised me! Best present this year!

Excellent. Bought for my beginner 13yr old son to eventually move onto a piano. This keyboard came in good time and well packaged. The key stickers came crumpled but my son made good of them as he couldn’t wait for replacements. I like the headphones to allow him to practice and give me some peace.

Very great value for the money. Especially great for beginners. It came with everything advertised and had stickers to put on/ identity the keys. I bought this specific keyboard because it has the ability to connect to my laptop and record. Keep in mind you need to buy the cord that connects to the keyboard to your laptop separately.

Brilliant for beginners and practising, my 6 yr old loves it, Comes with everything you need to get started. Keyboard stand, seat, book stand, pedal, headphones and 3 months free access to simply piano, decent sound, and lots of added features built in with record and playback function.

As a gift for my son (who is a beginner), this was a great buy – particularly as it comes with various accessories. This is not, however, a great keyboard. It feels cheap-and-cheerful to the touch, and I actually think it tries to do a bit too much. The sounds/voices are all fine (some are very good indeed), but most of the 200 available rhythms are unusable or redundant. When using the rhythms, there is also a slight delay between changing chord and hearing the chord change – which would make quick changes in fast paced songs impossible. HOWEVER… I am a keyboard player, and this is not intended to be a gigging instrument. I am giving it 4 stars because it does everything I wanted it to do, for now, for my son – and for what you get, this is seriously good value for money.

I like the package with the stool and, more importantly, the headphones as you can practice without disturbing others. i would recommend this for beginners.

At less than 90 including delivery this keyboard is excellent value. It come complete with a stand, stool, sustain pedal and even a set of headphones. It is simple to put together – I was using it 20 minutes after it arrived! It is NOT a Steinway but for someone like myself – on a budget but wanting something suitable for an absolute beginner – it is an excellent package. It even qualifies the buyer for free (on-line) lessons.
I am no expert but the default “Grand Piano” tone sounds sufficiently piano-like for my purposes and at this price I will accept any shortcomings until I reach the stage when I need something better.
My only criticisms so far are: 1 the volume control is not very good – it goes from off to too loud in two clicks. A more graded control would be better. 2. the keys are extremely sensitive – a note is played at the slightest depression of a key. This is far from ideal for beginners and takes a bit of getting used to. 3. the keys are not touch sensitive – music can not be played softly or loudly by varying the pressure on the keys.
I have not had it long enough to give any assessment of it’s durability.
As far as I am concerned these criticisms do not detract from the usefulness of this instrument as a tool for learning the basics at a cheap price. Fingering, scales, chords etc can all be learned and practised and some of the other functions of the instrument can be used to help with speed and timing.
It would be stupid to expect Casio or Yamaha quality and features from an instrument at this price – but if you are a beginner on a budget this package will be hard to beat.
