But this because of its size works every day in commercial kitchen.no.problems
Been using daily for about a month & can confirm it’s better than the bulkier standard microwave (of other brand) we have in the kitchen. The same amount of item (microwave pouch) heats up fater with this compact model and the food comes out piping hot & evenly heated. The mechanical noise during heating is surprisingly quiet low hum concludes with a graceful single ‘ting’ of a bulit-in metal bell (not electric ‘beep-beep-beep!!’). Overall this has been an improvement on my quality of life. Salute to Russell Hobbs.
This is an ideal size and power for a caravan.
Our built in microwave did what they all do in a caravan. They break.
Replacements cost silly money.
I took out the one in the van and bought this one.
I use it in the awning but it would sit on the unit just inside the door on ours.
We use it to microwave packets of rice (lying down not upright )
Heat tinned chilli heat up beans or soup rather than having to use the gas hob.
The internal is not very tall.
I use a plastic bowl that is about the size of a christmas pudding for 4 bowl.
We have some lidded bowls that holds a can of soup and they fit in there.
This microwave did not blow the trip.
It is also about 3kg lighter that the build in was so this works for us.
It’s a nice microwave if it suits your needs.
Oh the tape it was wrapped in came of very easily for me.
do your homework on what you need etc and this one may suit you
Bought this for a motorhome as the wattage and size were perfect for motorhomes where space and power capacity availability can be restricted.
The low wattage setting (600w) is ideal for a camper van, to accommodate the 16 Amp requirement at campsites. Small size fitted well in my campervan. There is no option to set the timer less than one minute but considering the other advantages this is a good buy.
The plug cord was a little loose but other than that, works well, is fairly quiet (the ping is very loud though) and the light is great because you can see if you’ve not placed your dish properly. Very easy to use, various temps, heats food as you would expect.
have just used it once but it cooked my eggs to a trea
Just wondered if the small hole was normal on this microwave
Very basic microwave but if that’s all you need it’s ideal and good value for money
Does what it said on the tin Lots of love will xxx
Light for my camper-van, cheap enough and of course reliable as its a russel hob.
I cant fit my normal meal size plates in it but it has to be compact for my van. If you have the space buy a 17 plus litre one which i have in my house because the exterior dimensions are not that much different other than hight. However for my needs, great little gadget.
Used in my touring caravan, quality build, powerful, value for money microwave
For those that don’t use a microwave for everything! This little machine is great for certain uses and small enough not to push everything off the work surface. Need to get the knack of converting the times to the 600 watt power level. Looks quite cool as well and a very good price.
All is okay and very easy to use ideal for my camperva
Low noise, and good constructed.
Unfortunately it is from UK, the power plug is not Australian ready.
Love this.fits better on worktop.wish door had automatic push to open. Door tricky to open .when you pull door open.it slides on the worktop.but I’ve got the hang of it now
eat, effective, small – perfect for insomniac’s milk heating in the small hours (but don’t make the mistake of getting too small a microfridge. 6l. not big enough for most supermarket 1 pint milk bottles, and Amazon bought little screw top bottles – just in the fridge – not microwave! – leak. Not good to have milk on carpet in bedroom.
I bought This microwave purely because I needed the size no more than 25cm high In my opinion it is rather basic and cheap looking considering I paid quite a bit more for it than some larger ones with more options on them ..
The turn button for your times of cooking, has no seconds just minutes so you have to judge and guess cooking times ..
the microwave ping also sounds so naff ! ..
But that aside it is small and compact and does the job and for me it fits where I needed it to
I’d recommend for neatness but possibly not for quality ..
but for the small amount I use it it’s fine
Brilliant small microwave. Bought to put in motorhome. Building it into a cupboard above. It’s great more powerful than I thought even though read reviews and some said it was rubbish. But it’s not. Good buy. Very cheap price. Easy to clean. Love it. It looks good in motorhome.
Just brilliant. Heats everything up really well, looks very attractive, works very easily and the dimensions were exactly what I needed to fit in my allocated location. Couldn’t appreciate it more.
Use this in Motorhome so excellent choice with manual buttons. Easy to move about as quite light and performance is only slightly under the performance of much heavier, more expensive ovens that would not work in the Motorhome
Arrived within a few days just with a small dent in the side which doesn’t seem to affect function. Bought for our boat so happy with compact size and simple operation especially because it has lower height than normal. Removing the near ‘invisible’ cellophane wrap ( which has to be removed before operating) did seem puzzling although we eventually found that starting at the edges helps. We were worried about how easy it might be for someone in a hurry or with reduced visibility to mss this especially as the wrap covers vents.
Seems to be a good choice for smaller spaces such as a boat or campervan.
Got this for my RV.
You’re only really saving on height; it’s about the same footprint as a regular compact microwave.
The thing comes with plastic-wrap on the whole outside which must be removed before use. However, the wrapping not the type you are thinking of – and took me 35 minutes as it’s incredibly tacky and does not come off in one piece- but 30 -50 small torn pieces that drive you mad trying to get them off with your nails.
As a cheap fairly small microwave, it works great and only takes another 20% time over a regular ‘typical’ 800watt unit for heating times.
I would not have brought it if I had of known about the infuriating plastic removal issue. You think you’re making good progress removing it all – then you get to the air-vent and it shreds up forcing you to peak each of the many fan vents individually.
I would not buy it again because of the plastic being undisclosed but otherwise it works fine and seems well made in this price-point.
The dial, while mechanical with a ‘bell’ works really tightly and it’s easy to get accurate times.
There less annoying choices out there.. but if you must save around 2-3″ on height, or have a low power footprint, then this is for you.
Only 14 litres, but still big enough to take a dinner plate. The cooking space is lower than most other microwaves so you won’t be able to cook anything high (eg packet microwave rice) without laying it down. Controls are super simple, would suit OAP.
Happy so far fitted in my camper and running perfectly. The low power means slower cooking/heating times but allows me to use a smaller lower power inverter. Running fine on a modified sine wave unit 1500w.
Heats food evenly and a nice bright viewing light so you can see what’s going on. Simple manual timer max 35 mins. This has a very small footprint compared to most microwaves .
I will update in a month as using daily.
Update!
Three solid months using this microwave each day and still heating evenly and going strong. Use with and without running the camper but ibfind better whilst running at idle. Very happy with this purchase as I did not have to change my inverter (still using the same modified one I have owned for two years now). In comparison the meal I reheat at home in a 900w microwave for 2.5 mins is 6.5 mins in the camper @600w very acceptable (not sure if it would be any better indoors on 240 as I never tried it (straight to camper from the box ).
Great purchase
Perfect compact microwave. Just what I needed for our small space in kitchen corner. Love how easy it is to use it and it’s nice and quiet. It even fits (just about) my large dinner plate. Definitely recommend this great and good looking microwave.
The size of this microwave is perfect for my needs and fits perfectly onto the racking in my van , its simple to use with no airs and graces . The only problem is the glass dish , it has no indentations to enable it to locate onto the central turntable coupling , I reported this to Russell Hobbs who 1st said this normal and then said perhaps the packaging dept had put the wrong dish in , they agreed to swap it , I waited a week for my replacement only to receive a new microwave with exactly the same glass dish , I have now bought , at more expense a new glass dish that actually works with the microwave
id like to think that a representative of Russell Hobbs would read these reviews and act on them , but I doubt i
What a great piece of kit work fine in the house just got to try it in camper van in October. Thanks
