Cardioid Pickup PatternThis pattern is most sensitive to sound coming from directly in front of the mic, while rejecting sound coming from behind the mic. This is great for streaming, podcasting or vocal performances. | Omnidirectional Pickup PatternPicks up sound equally from all directions â in front of the mic, behind the mic, off to the sides, etc. This pattern is great for recording a number of people around a single microphone, like a multi-person podcast. | Figure-8 or Bidirectional Pickup PatternPicks up sound directly in front and back of the mic, while rejecting the sound on the left and right sides. This setting can be used for capturing two performers singing a duet or a cross-table interview. |

I got it for my wife and she like it so much!
It’s the best USB Mic
You can record voice using a laptop or with phone using USB Adapter Cable!
Very good one …
There is clarity in sound, and the listener has zero complaints
Amazing product on samsons part its all metal and very sturdy and nice just how i would like my mic and props to audio savings for the lowest price possible and the speedy delivery time
hands down this is one of the best microphones i have ever had ..i recommend it to every one
I LOVE THIS MIC!!!! I’m not a sound expert by any means, but this microphone changed my video conferencing experience for the better. I tried a blue yeti, it felt cheap and almost like a kids microphone. I wasn’t a fan of the audio either. The G track pro feels and looks like it belongs in a professional recording studio, very premium materials. I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!
Sound quality is fantastic. Easy to setup and use. Build quality is sturdy and heavy. It even makes the sound in my headphones from games way better. The monitor mode is really nice and having enough patterns for anything you’d need. I love it. Best purchase I’ve made in a while.
For the longest while it had the sound settings processing sound at 48000 Hz when it shouldve been set to 41000 Hz. Before I fixed it in settings I thought the mic was just stupid and making everything like 5 octaves deeper than it should’ve been. Took me awhile to find that I needed to just change it’s sound processing setting!
Other than that user error, the mic is amazing. It’s heavy so it sits firmly on my desk. On the right settings it doesn’t pick up ANY background noise, not even my old in wall air conditioner from the 80s that sounds horrendous. It’s so good!
Is not Ideal the right mic for streaming/gaming if you don’t use instruments because it makes it overpriced and there might be some problems with Mounting Options:
1. Desktop (includes desk stand)
-a bit heavy ( the stand is heavy not the mic itself) and takes space from your desk so its like in middle between keyboard and mouse and might be a problem if you have small desk.
2. Shock-mount
-you need a Samson SASP04 Shock Mount for G-Track Pro(if you find one make sure the sellers confirms is compatible with Pro, the G-Track >>PRO << -the SASP04 Shock Mount is hard to find, here in UK there isnt and almost cost half price of the mic with because of Shipping from somewere else and might take a month or longer to recieve. I've tried the Rycote 044903(Universal Shock Mount for Large Mic) and it doesnt fit. 3.Boom Arm - the mic isnt that heavy but I would advice a boom arm thats sturdy enough and not the cheapest boom arm but to use have this microphone on a boom arm you need the shockmount or the adaptor or maybe both. So personally for me if I knew how hard is to get a shock mount then I wouldnt bought this. If you fine with desk stand then buy it but dont change your mind in future only if there will be shock mount available.
For podcast and entry musician tho, this is the way to go, not to mention the build quality is exceptional and the look is industrialized, well done!
Not the best for gaming cuz it picks up everything, especially your keyboard, so unless you have a very well treated room, I wouldn’t suggest this mic for game streaming.
This mic is an outstanding piece of gear for recording. Works as described, plug and play. Will be used to record vocals and guitar. Professional grade. Highly recommend. Note: I do not have an affiliate account so this is an unsponsored review.
Wow!!! I am using this microphone for teaching my online classes!! And the sound quality is amazing!! Super easy to use!! I just plugged it to my Mac… and it just work!! The microphone and its base are very well constructed and very robust!! I am very happy with the product and the way it works!!
We have an online ministry (The Way Remnant, check us out on FB and YT) and our broadcast were suffering. We typically have me and my wife on the broadcast and we did not want to buy a mixer and have 2 misc.
This has been perfect for us. The sound quality is amazing. Great find and well worth every penny.
The audio quality is good, the monitoring feature is amazing too.
One thing to mention though, when you replay your voice through the mic monitor audio jack, there is some weird artifacting but the audio file has very crisp audio.
The noise capture is quite high for my taste but nothing you can’t fix without some post processing.
I do recommend a pop filter, without it, it picks up the plosives very aggressively.
It’s a pretty sensitive mic so it’ll pick up everything, even in the cardioid patter.

I received a defective product.
The grill at the rear side is completely destroyed, the box is in a bad shape and the mute button doesn’t work.
Haven’t been able to use it yet.
Maybe it is good but I’ll update when I get a unit that’s atleast working.
This is a great mic that works flawlessly on my Zoom calls. I am told that sound quality is far superior to the mics on PCs, Macs and IOS devices.
Don’t listen to any reviews but this one. Seriously. I have had this Microphone for a couple of months now, and let me tell you. It is absolutely amazing. The sound quality? Astounding. Features? A huge plus.
It gives your voice a kind of warmth that no other USB microphone will give you at this price point. If you’re also using this microphone to record music like me, this is a really good alternative to a full interface, as it has a 1/4 inch port for your instrument of choice. Again, this microphone is amazing at this price point, truly unbeatable.
This is an excellent and simple to use microphone. No worries about phantom power, or XLR cables, or interfaces. This is USB plug and play microphone. It has a headphone slot for zero-latency monitoring (so you can hear your voice as you are recording it), and with an IN plug allowing you to add an instrument or additional microphone. It is easy to switch between cardioid (for one person talking into to the front of it), to Figure 8 (for two people, one talking into the front and one into the back)) and Omnidirectional pick (picks up everything in the surrounding area). I predominantly use it just for podcasting and video calls so I only use Cardioid but the quality of the recording is very warm. Straightaway my podcast was praised for the quality of the recording – all of which was down to the Samson.
I’m not a tech buff. I don’t know my microphones very well but this has been brilliant for me so far. It might seem a little pricy for anyone starting out, but a) the quality is brilliant and is well worth it, b) cheaper microphones often require you to buy more and more accessories, cables or interfaces to make them work properly so you can up end paying nearly as much.
It is a little heavy, so it wouldn’t really suit anyone who is looking for a portable microphone. It’s one to keep in place at home or in the studio.
Overall: I was reluctant about spending so much to try out a hobby, but I use this microphone almost weekly now – if not daily – and it’s been one of the best tools I’ve bought. Would thoroughly recommend.
all my friends RAVE about how good I sound with this microphone. Before they were complaining about my mic on my budget headset but now their complaints have disappeared! You will love the G Track Pro!
Awesome microphone. Heavy and quality built. Bought a year ago and still works perfectly, very happy with it.
The usb a to b is a bit loose whenconnected but everything else was grea
Geweldige microfoon voor podcast en geluidsopnames.
+ Kwalitatief goed gebouwd.
+ Uitstekende opnamekwaliteit
+ Eenvoudige installatie
I was deciding between this mic and the Rode USB mic for several purposes, but decided on this one ultimately because of the instrument input at the back, gain control, and the heavy and sturdy stand. Unlike other light USB mics, when you put this mic down on the desk it doesn’t go ANYWHERE, and the heavy stand helps dampen some desk vibration. However, if you’re serious about not wanting any keyboard noises and such to be picked up by the mic I’d recommend the shock mount at least, or the boom arm as well.
I use this mic for voice chatting with online friends and during games, voice acting (casual not professional), recording both acoustic guitar and vocals as well as piano or electric through the instrument input at the back. It’s extremely high quality. I am most impressed by how low the noise floor is on this mic. I can turn the gain up to 70% before hearing any hiss, even with instruments plugged in, and this is remarkable considering the internal pre-amp. Everything is very well shielded.
The only aspect I could say should perhaps be improved is the knobs – they are good, but a little loose for my liking. That said, if you take proper care of the mic and the knobs you won’t have any issues. Mine arrived well packaged and protected and the knobs are 100% functional.
This product is useful for any task requiring a microphone with a computer. It was delivered very promptly and was exactly as the seller described.
I was looking for a good Microphone to do PodCasting and YouTube like videos. This microphone works very well, and gives the option to integrate additional sound inputs (guitar, sound board, etc.) into the mix. Great value for the money, and comes with what you need. I would buy another one.
Go for it!
Great materials and quality of sound. My discord friends immediately heard the difference. It was hard to setup as it was my first mic but after watching some YouTube videos it is easy. The ability to change the volume and sensitivity is super convenient. I definitely recommend this product if you want to upgrade from a headset setup to a better sound. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there was no cable provided since its needed to connect to the pc. At this price, I don’t know why they didn’t include it.
Mic is great, good sound, excellent features, software that comes with it is a little glitchy to start with but a full program well worth having!
Klasse Mikrophon.
(Kernel 5.5.9, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed 20200331, PulseAudio)
Easy enough to set up, had some initial issues with getting OBS and Discord to pick it up.
Sound quality is amazing, really clear and clean.
This thing is massive compared to the Blue Yeti, but I don’t mind it at all.
A heavy duty , crystal clear , studio quality microphone that’s been rocking for roughly 4 months now with no issues whatsoever . all you need is a pop filter and you should be good .
Such a good mic. Really worth the money, I don’t have a soundproof room and the echo is almost non existe
Pretty good microphone. Picks up my voice only. Really simple to set up, I just plugged it in and it worked. The only thing I had to fix was a sound setting so that the Hz of the mic was the same as the Hz coming out of my computer It was a simple fix, just googled it and it got to work. Pretty convenient volume knob and mute button.
So far seems pretty awesome and the fact that you could plug in an instrument such as a guitar through the back of it and play is pretty awesome. More updates to come future
It’s pretty good not going to lie, it’s just good. Sometimes I would have to replug the cable because sound isn’t coming through, but after a reconnect it works beautifully.
Sorry for taking so long for the review, been sick and busy, but this guy fills all i need.
I bought this mic only to record vocals on songs and I was pretty impressed with the sound quality and the build of the microphone. I’m use to xlr mics and audio interfaces so I was a bit skeptical when I purchased this mic. But the quality is crisp and exceeded my expectations.the only two things that I dont like is the usb cable is faulty and the volume and gain knobs on the front are a little bit loose.
I love this mic completely surprised me I use it to record on YouTube and Podcasting. Its a great starter Microphone
The only issue I have is with ps4 use. You cant use wireless headsets in tandem with this. You have to use a pair that plugs into the mic itself.
I’ve had this mic for a little while. I mostly use this mic for gaming, It sounds great. Its perfectly clear. The ability to change the volume whenever on the spot is great. Good for the price, only downfall is that it doesn’t fit in any shock mount I’ve gotten and having it on my desk can get in the way. So if you have room for it, then its worth it.
I needed a replacement microphone for podcasts I do. The audio quality on this is superb, and I like that it’s all USB-based with no extra drivers to install. Works just as described, and the manual knobs and mute really make it so easy to work with.
This mic gives crystal clear quality, I use it on my ps4 and pc and everyone says I sound crisp and clear. The gain control is really nice to have on the microphone and being able to plug headphones into it makes it a must have for anyone looking for a mic. By far the best I’ve ever used.
Best mic for the money. Got it really quick and if you know what you’re doing, it’s an excellent alternative to xlr mic and mixers
Did some songs with it its perfect u just need to eq the high end ..if u don’t like touch high end other than that it perfectly perfec
If you’re like and wanted this to mount onto a suspension stand you’ll need to get the Samson G Track Pro shock mount specifically for these arm extensions.
The “frequently bought with” listing on this page makes you think that the “Suspension Boom Arm” that it shows would be an out-of-the-box solution…it isn’t. You NEED a mounting bracket/shock-absorber so you can even put it on the arm. There’s no screw-mount anywhere on this unit like Blue Yeti, and other Blue mics, have.
Just beware this headache! I didn’t knock off a Star on this product’s review because Amazon is being lame. 🙂
Great clear sound. Even better when you use a pop filter! Definitely the mic to go to start off.
This is a superb USB recording mic! It performs better than my expectations! My only gripe is how heavy it is, mainly due to the scissor arm that I had purchased not being strong enough to hold it. Very minor detail given the overall solid build quality! It’s definitely a hefty piece of equipment.
This unit is very sturdy and heavy. I love the fact that I can plug in headphones to use as a monitor. Zero latency. Plug and play easily to my laptop. Tested with piano keyboard and with an electric uke. Recordings come out crisp. Recording from singing are very good as well. I feel like I’m in a sound studio when I’m plugged in with my headphones and instrument performing. Love love love!
I wanted a good mic that I could just stick into my Mac and go, to record my classical guitar performances. This has not disappointed, and gives a very true idea of what I sound like. It is really solid and has a reliable feel. I would certainly recommend.
half the time the mic works and sometimes it doesn’t connect to the game it will flash yellow and sometimes flash red to many issues shoulda got the blue yeti , im sure if you mess with system settings you can figure it out tho.
Great sound quality in definitely worth the money, and is great for streams and YouTube content!
However mine personally does have a issue the mute button unfortunately doesn’t work for me, I’m not sure how to get into contact with the seller.
My voice has never sounded so clear. This thing is completely metal and you could slug your cousin with it without leaving a scratch on the mic. You could use this thing as a mortar round and it would damage the machinery before you damage the mic. I can’t believe it – it saved my marriage!
Easy to use, no drivers needed. Good quality. Solid build. Only complaint is that it is only compatible with its stand.
I love this mic. It sounds great and easy to use and it feel durable. My only concern with this mic is the distance between base and the cord. The cord is pushing against the base and I believe that over time the cord or the input of the mic will be damaged. I use this mic to record vocals on my tracks and I don’t have to set up a stand and it takes up little room.
Definitely the best USB mic I’ve ever had (even though it was my first one). Hands down an extreme step up from a gaming headset mic. My friends thought there was a noticeable difference in my voice and a good one at that. Easy to mount to a stand (if you buy one) and easy setup too. Otherwise if you just want to keep it on the desk stand it came with, that works too, but I recommend an overhanging stand to get better quality sound.
Great product. Only problem is sometimes it stops working. So I have to unplug and plug it back in.
This is an excellent USB mic that sounds almost as good as my Rode XLR mic. I have only used it with my existing software so far, but had no trouble with it.
The only limitation is that the sensitivity is super high, so even on the cardioid setting and with a soundproof screen around it, it picks up a TON of ambient noise, even sounds outside that are not audible to the naked ear. Definitely use in a sound-treated/sound proof room, unless a little ambient noise is acceptable. (Ok for gaming, not for sterile music recording unless in soundproof booth or room).
PROS
– Easy setup
– On-the-fly volume control
– Instrument port
– Quality sound
CONS
– Non-Standard mount threading
– No Gain control
I have had this for a couple months now and my only issue with this amazing Mic was that there is no true boom stand for it. The base you get in the box is advertised that is all you need… Granted for an interview or around the table discussion it is great and able to pick up all the voices.
I use this for gaming and for work confrences and with mic tests it really sounds crisp and even picks up whispers as I am messing around with my friends. So overall the price hurts but like all other reveiws the material is built to last. If you want versatility and a plug and go system I believe this is a good choice.
Es buen producto. Buena compra.
The mic is great and really deserves 5 stars… However, it really ticks me off when you get such a good product with such a crappy cable. I had an issue with this mic flashing red which indicates clipping. I looked up the issue and it seems to be pretty common with this mic. It is caused by the USB 2.0 a-b cable. Issue is fixed with a quick trip to your local Walmart, but still.
Works great. Only thing is the indicator light kept blinking red as if it were clipping. Using it solely as a mic and not both input and output seemed to solve it.
Always loved Samson and Hartke. I stream video games and also make youtube videos and found there is nothing this mic cant other than the dishes.
Trees performant.
I’m probably not getting the fullest use of the mic, I don’t have any inputs I’d use for it and I rarely move from the cardiod setting.
But I’ve found the mic and quality absolutely superb for my use case, I t was easy to set up, the stand is appropriate quality and the controls are easy to use. Although if you have bigger hands you may find yourself interacting with two controls at the same time, but you get used to avoiding this quickly.
One recommendation I have would to be includ a slightly nicer cable, this doesn’t get awkwardly bent depending on the angle of the mic. This isn’t a deal breaker but I am conscious of this given I do move it around when I’m not using i
The audio from the microphone is not bad, sounds a bit fuller in the tone than a headset for example. My biggest dislike is that amazon’s “Frequently bought together” suggestion is wrong (first hand experince) as the arm’s microphone holder does not fit this microphone.
The Samson G-Track Pro really is a fantastic microphone for the money and I was very pleased to have purchased it while it was on offer. It is important to understand the limitations presented by this equipment before you purchase it however, so i’ll start with the negatives:
– It’s a condenser microphone, so if you’re using this for gaming it is going to pick up any background noise like keyboard and mouse clicking, even when picking up sound in the cardioid pattern. There are steps you can take to reduce this but it’s hard to eliminate entirely.
– The cable that comes with the microphone is the cause of a lot of the ‘problems’ experienced when using the microphone for the first time. Do yourself a favour and buy a good quality USB-B cable at the time of purchase, and throw out the one supplied by Samson.
– The microphone can behave erratically if your input and output sample rates are not the same, and they seem to be different by default, so these need altering in your sound settings.
Now for the good stuff:
– The sound quality to price ratio on this mic is outstanding. Not the perfect microphone by any stretch but for less than 150 it’s an absolute gem.
– The built in preamp and diversity of settings makes this a very flexible microphone. Add to this that all the controls are on the microphone itself in the form of switches or knobs and you understand why it’s a pleasure to use.
– It’s a tank. The G-Track Pro is on the list of my top 5 things to use in self-defence in the event of a home invasion, and I’ll still be able to podcast about the experience afterwards. The build quality is so good that the only complaint I can find is that the knobs are a bit wobbly which, lets face it, is not a problem.
– It’s Night Rider black, so looks amazing wherever you use it
I highly recommend this microphone to anyone looking to make the step up from entry level recording equipment. I can confidently say I’ll be using this mic for quite some time. I’ve given it a 4* rating because Samson are supplying a terrible USB cable with the product.
Hope this helped.
I have a large collection of condenser mics and this one is quickly becoming my favorite. I put it up against my Shure, Sennheiser, Rode, Blue and other mics that I run through a Focusrite audio interface, and find I really prefer the rich sound of the Samson G that I can just plug directly into my laptop.
At the time of purchase I couldn’t find a mic arm that works with this mic other than one that costs over $100. Other than that it’s way better than the Yeti or other mics in this price range.
Really nice sound quality even with minimal messing around. I’m sure when I get a chance to fine tune it, it will be even better. Recommended!
Great microphone but Amazon does not provide a boom arms adapter.
Instead buy at Best buy.
The cardioid mode has stopped working all together very odd, other than that it sounds amazing sets up easy enough.
Just very odd that the cardioid went from working to no
Iv owned most of the popular USB mic’s commonly used by streamers, including the Yeti, Yeti Nano and Rode NT. All of these are great microphones but none were perfect. There were features from all of them that I loved but there was no single mic that rolled all those great features into a single unit, until now!
I picked up the Samson G-Track Pro after a recommendation and I can confidently say it’s the best USB mic I have personally ever used. It’s a little on the pricey side but as an investment it’s worth every single penny. Everything you need is on the mic with absolutely no need for software to controll settings.
The front of the mic is where the magic happens with the following controlls:
– 3 way polar pattern switch (figure 8, cardioid & omnidirectional).
– Mono / stereo switch.
– Mute button with LED alert.
– Microphone volume (gain).
– Instrument volume (” input).
– Headphone volume.
On the rear of the mic are the following:
– Monitor on / off switch.
– ” headphone input.
– ” instrument input.
The body of both the microphone are entirely metal with a very premium feel. It is quite heavy at 1.6kg however I feel that weight is an important factor, especially for those who will be using it as a desktop microphone. The stand is nice, heavy and flat and will stay exactly where you put it which was the biggest issue with the Rode NT due to its plastic tripod style design. The stand also uses permanent grip hinges which allows full, secure adjustment without manually needing to adjust screw caps in order to rotate the mic into a preferable position. This makes quick adjustments much easier than the others which is very useful whilst in the middle of a stream.
The buttons and potentiometers all feel perfect too. Some reviewer’s have mentioned that they feel “sloppy” however I found the complete opposite. The pots all had lovely smooth movement making it very easy to make smaller adjustments unlike others which have much tighter pots. The mute button does not click when you turn it on or off which I preferred as click type buttons often require more pressure and can move the mic if you don’t hold it whilst pressing. This is not an issue with the G-Track Pro, the button is nice and easy to push but not too easy that you would press it accidentally. The LED light above the button also changes colour to alert you that mute is enabled. The slide switches on the device are also perfect and sit firmly in their selected positions. One of the biggest issues I had with the Yeti Nano was that I would keep accidentally changing the polar pattern every time I tried to adjust its position.
Specifications:
– Dual back electret condenser.
– 50Hz-60Hz frequency response.
– 96kHz sample rate.
– +6dB FS/PA sensitivity (all polar patterns).
– 25mm diaghragm width, 3 micron diaphragm thickness.
Another great thing to mention is the USB type B connection on the base of the mic. This nice and chunky connection in my opinion is far superior to the micro USB type connection found on the Yeti’s. I can’t even count the amount of times I have had power issues with the Yeti due to how loose and sloppy the micro USB would get after a while.
There is no software included with this mic, everything you need is on the unit, making this really quick and easy to setup without needing to download and create accounts with softwares in order to access necessary features.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a premium quality mic, are willing to invest 150 and want something that can handle any job you need it for then look no further. Samson has taken everything good from all it’s competitors, removed everything bad and mixed it all up into one perfect hybrid device. Buy it and never look back.
Great microphone friends tell me
It sound really good even hey comment some people think I’m a pro gamer or something great for YouTube and podcast, high quality and it shows
For the amount of money spent, the quality of the product is definitely professional grade sound. Paired with proper sound absorption studio foam, everyone who tests it out cant believe how great it sounds. The Gain, Instrument, volume, mute, figure8, cardioid, 2 track etc… controls are all top quality engineered to put the professional feel right at your fingertips.
Like all condensor microphones, this one picks up everything in the room, even . Awesome mike!!! Like OUTSTANDING! But wow the keyboard sounds loud while gaming lol!
It looks sturdy, but it just toppled off the table once and one button came off.
This thing sounds beautiful, if you are about 2-5 inches away from it, it really shines and sounds awesome. I use it for gaming and everyone compliments me on how good I sound.
I am really pleased with the Samson G Track Pro USB microphone. It comes with many recording options (Cardioid, Fig 8 and Omnidirectional) that can all be easily switched within the mic physical buttons. The same goes for the recording in Stereo or Mono. The physical mute button and volume control of the microphone on the microphone itself are really handy to quickly adjust your recording settings without the need for digital adjustment on your computer. There is no need for a pop filter with this microphone. So far I have been using the mic on Cardioid mode within 1m of my face and I am really pleased with the sound quality. 5/5 I would recommend it!
I use this mic with Discord, the Xbox Windows app, Audacity and OBS studio and my voice has never sounded so buttery smooth coming through this mic. My friend recommended it to me and I’ve never looked back since. As an avid gaming enthusiast I highly recommend this microphone for anyone that doesn’t want to sound like they’re talking through a fan online!
Excellent quality. Loads better than the blue snowball I used previously. The sound is amazing and being able to plug guitar in and record two channels at once is brilliant. Love it.
The product is built like a tank and was extremely simple to set up. You literally just plug it up and it works. Just like that. You’ll have a harder time trying to find out where you want to sit it on your desk than you will getting it up and running. Sound quality is good. Build quality is superb. And the headphone output is really convenient. This mic is worth every bit of its price. If you need good quality sound without a lot of clutter, you need this mic. Buy it.
This is the best value & quality desktop mic on the market to date! I really hope that Samson doesn’t change a thing about this product moving forward into the future. (except ‘maybe’ giving it 96K sample rate capabilities? but really NOT a big deal to not have it. 48K sample rates are MORE than adequate for recording & mixing)
I already had a Blue Yeti mic, but I now have a home recording studio and I needed an audio interface for my instruments and a good vocal mic. I was already familiar with Samson’s mic quality since I’ve used a Samson C01 mic in the past to record vocals for 2 songs I made a while back. That mic sounded great with my voice, so I decided I wanted a newer one. I was originally looking for an Audio interface to buy, & was going to by the new version of the C01 separately. But then I stumbled on to the Samson G-Track Pro by accident. An Audio Interface for instruments AND more than decent vocal mic in ONE device!?! for LESS than $300 bucks(CAD)!?! Unbelievable.
And here’s the Bonus:
I’d been using the Blue Yeti as a gaming mic for the last several years, and of course it’s been doing an amazing job for that. no complaints at all. But the Samson G-Track Pro sounds 100 times better than the yeti does for gaming, running it completely dry with no compression or gate on it whatsoever, straight into the game. When gaming with the Blue Yeti, I used to get asked once a week by other players if I was a streamer or youtuber (cause of how good the mic sounded). But now with the Samson G-Track Pro, I get asked that question while gaming literally EVERY DAY. It’s kind of annoying now lol.
Now where recording with it is concerned, I’ve been using this as an interface into Cakewalk by Bandlab (formerly known as Sonar 8 SE). I plug my guitar straight in, balance the gain so there’s no clipping, hit the record button & lay my track. Sounds great. No artifacting, buzzing, popping, etc. Just a nice clean quality guitar track with tons of headroom left for further processing, editing, mixing, etc. within my DAW. And the vocals I get out of the mic are every bit as good, if not better, as what I got with the Samson C01. You just have to learn your dynamic distancing while singing. If you’re going to sing very loudly, back of the mic a bit & you won’t clip. For singing normally, give yourself about a foot (12 inches) of distance and of course, always adjust your gain on the mic itself so you don’t clip. You’ll get a nice crisp warm vocal track. (if you find it too ‘warm’ for your tastes, you can easily scoop out the related frequency in the DAW’s EQ in less than a minute. Personally, I think the warmth it has is perfect. not too much. just enough to help your vocals cut through any mix.)
This is hands down the best desktop mic on the market to date. I strongly recommend this to Podcasters, PC Gamers, Streamers, Youtubers, Vocalists, Home Studio Producers & Engineers, DJ’s, Radio Broadcasters, and ALL of the above. Even if you only game on PC, you should still strongly consider investing in this mic.
It’s build quality is just as amazing as its audio quality & feature set. It’s all solid metal, & really should last a lifetime.
Hope this helps someone out there. Cheers.
This is a great USB microphone once I overcame setup. I had loads of problems initially, I couldn’t record and the LED would be flashing red very fast. I tired various Mac and Windows computers and had them same problem on all of them. I almost gave up and arranged a return, however are a bit of googling I discovered it was just a case of the changing the monitoring frequency rate to 48KHz the same as the microphone and it works perfectly. So a fantastic usb mic that could have better instructions
My microphone came in… and I tried it out and it sounded really nice , it’s also very aesthetically pleasing but sadly.. my mic came a little damaged… but I don’t think it affects the quality of the recording .. so I most likely won’t be returning it but it was just sad for me to see that :((
I used this for streaming and recording , it is crystal clear within all aspects .
The only flaw this microphone has is that it doesn’t have mount support .
As advertised. It’s extremely user friendly, well constructed and has incredible sound as both a mic and a monitor. Get this!
I had some difficulty finding how to Split and use the 2 track switch on the Mike.. for Garage Band. I called SAMSON and taled to Mark he plugged in the GB software and called me BACK with the answers I needed to get it going. GREAT SERVICE… I will be looking at other SAMSON products because of MARK…
Im manual steht aber: “Connect the G-Track Pro to the computer using the INCLUDED cable.”.
I’ve actually been able to clear space on my desk with this by removing the Focusrite audio interface. If you just need voice and a single instrument – this is an exceptional value. Even if you just need voice – I think the quality of the mic matches the price. Excellent option.
I do like the mic and playing around with it I find something new all the time, however I am 6ft5 and I normally have my mics on a boom arm as sitting on the desk is quite far from me mouth, all the reviews on YouTube that I have watched had an adaptor straight out the box. Something that mine did not have and now I’m really struggling to find the adaptor. Does anyone know where I can purchase this?
The sound of this mic is absolutely awesome. It connects without any drivers, has multiple pick up patterns and the sensitivity is perfect because I can keep the gain low but still have stellar pickup. The fact that it has in instrument/line interface and you can listen to the audio that was just recorded through the zero latency headphone monitor jack (3.5mm) makes this the one usb mice to judge the rest by. If you want a USB mic this is it. The weight of this mic has to be in lbs. Built to last!
The Samson G-Track Pro is undoubtedly one of the best USB Microphones that I have ever had the pleasure of using. As an Audio Engineer, I have usually been one to avoid the use of USB Microphones in comparison to their XLR brethren, however this is the microphone that made me reconsider this preference. Not only is it super convenient with its plug and play operation (both windows and mac, I’ve yet to test it with linux), the audio it captures (I used the Cardioid pattern), is bright, with excellent clarity for a microphone in this price range (I played with recording at different sample rates and bit depths too and it sounds even more detailed the higher sample rate and bit depth) . The on board latency free monitoring (which can be turned on and off), works as advertised too. I purchased this to be used as my main podcasting microphone, and so far it has simply exceeded expectations. If you’re a streamer, podcaster or budding musician, this is an awesome microphone to start off with.
No complaints. I need to do a bit more to remove background noise, but what do you expect from a studio mic. The different modes work as expected and people are saying my voice is much better than before.
