Almost 5 stars apart from its very difficult to see inside when working. It’s only a problem when boiling milk or similar when you need to see a precise moment to stop the machine.
Adjusting the time is also a bit basic as no key pad to type in time and relays on rotating dial I should have noticed before ordering
Apart from those points it seems reasonable good quality time will tell
We bought this model microwave in 2013. Has served us very well in that time. A couple of weeks ago, something went wrong and when you closed the door, the power would start up. Could only stop it by unplugging. Probably a simple fault, but I don’t have the knowledge to repair it. So looked for a replacement. After scouring reviews sites, including Which! magazine, this model popped up again. It’s still a Which! Best Buy. At 100 it’s a bargain. So we bought the same model again and am very happy that we did. We don’t multi cook in it, we have an Ninja AirFryer for most cooking. But this is great at giving a couple of button presses – 30 seconds each, to warm up a cup of coffee or heat up some chilled indian. Which is all we need it for. It’s still one of the cleanest best looking microwaves out there. Not too many confusing buttons or clutter. Yes, the glass is dark, but seriously if you’re staring into the glass to watch your food cook – ask yourself why you are doing that! Simply no need.
I bought this microwave to replace our old microwave which had gone rusty. It arrived with good packaging. Looks really well with ceramic interior which stops the rusting. It’s very easy to use product. Also easy to keep clean and the power saving turn off option is too handy. Only issue is can’t see inside while cooking, due to colour. It has standard size of plate. Has variety of function, sturdy and made with good quality. Doesn’t take long time to heat up food.
Prior to acquiring this microwave, I invested some time in reading reviews and conducting research. It’s an ideal size for our compact kitchen, ensuring it doesn’t occupy excessive counter space. While the appearance is pleasing, the visibility of items inside is slightly challenging due to the dark door. Nevertheless, it boasts all the features one would seek, performing precisely as expected and equipped with modern conveniences. Overall, it’s a worthwhile purchase—easy to use and hopefully a lasting addition to our kitchen.
What I like:
It’s nice looking.
Cooks evenly.
Loud beep.
Powerful fan expelling moisture (so reduces buildup of condensation internally), but that means you certainly know when it is on.
It has 5s time steps (my previous Panasonic had 10s steps).
Easy to clean (ceramic interior finish).
I like the fact they the interior has a five year warranty – they must have faith that it won’t rust like most do.
Bright display.
Has power saving feature (but manual).
Not quite so good:
Power saving should be automatic – it should shut off power after a short time.
You pull the door to open rather than press a button, and it’s quite noisy closing.
I didn’t experience an issue with the door being stiff to open as some reporte.
The internal light is okay when the door is open, but I wish manufacturers would put a light on both side. With the door closed, it’s almost impossible to see inside unless you turn all the room lights off (and close the blinds!) – as many report. I fail to understand why it was not designed to make it possible to clearly see what’s cooking – useful if you want to ensure your coffee or porridge doesn’t boil over! The wire mesh needs to be their to reflect the 3cm microwaves back into the oven and let none out but other manufacturers have managed to do this and have good visible light transparency too.
The light comes out of the back of the unit (so more could have been done to channel all the light into the cavity!)
This ‘defect’ is mentioned in many reviews (not just Amazon), but I will live with it – the advantages outweigh this disadvantage.
I was going to include a picture showing the view inside with the door closed to show how difficult it was to see the contents but bizarley with a phone camera you can see quite clearly into the machine!!!
The fan could stay on a bit longer to reduce condensation buildup when you don’t remove the contents straight away (minor point).
Overall, a very good microwave and I have no regrets buying it. I certainly do recommend it.
Time will tell (of course) how long it will last, but generally Samsung products are well made.
Delivered quick and efficiently. Packed well.
Bought as a gift, so cannot comment on how it is operating, hence why I gave 4 star rating rather than 5.
The product’s appearance looked good quality and excellent value.
Samsung appliances likes to sing! They all have crazy alerts when the job is doing whether that is the microwave, washing machine or oven! It’s a nuisance tbh! Also this microwave has a fault with the door turning on the heating if slowly opened up. Weird
Very good microwave, fast heating , easy to use , reliable so far
Massive downside is the internal light which is very dim , if you need to monitor your food whilst cooking I would give this one a miss
I liked the style of the microwave very good and easy to use would have preferred to have had the main manual to come with the microwave to start we do not have a printer and had to wait for family member to print it so now i understand it .
Would have liked the control panel to have light up and oven light to be brighter.
Overall pretty good and main selling point is the 5year warranty shows Samsung rate there product to last as other manufacturers only give 1 year I do like Samsung products .
This microwave smashes all of the expectations you would have for a microwave. You put the food in, press the +30 second button a bunch of times, the food gets hot and then it beeps to let you know the time is up!
As mentioned in other reviews the door is a bit tricky to see through but that probably means it provides a higher protection against stray radiation and in reality this doesn’t cause any issues in day to day use.
I love this microwave, it has a very exclusive way of saving energy by being able to turn off the time so you are saving energy. It looks lovely and with a blue ceramic interior which is easy to clean. It’s quiet and not as annoying as other microwaves. The only downfall if you can call it that; is that the light inside is very dull, but that’s just me being picky. I’m pleased with this purchase.
Good quality attractive looking Microwave oven which is easy to clean. The instructions provided are poor and the full manual requires downloading once you get the correct model number.
The oven is effective although the controls are a bit fussy.
Nice microwave easy clean with enamel lining little bit noisy when running
Excellent microwave
Smaller than expected but can fit a large plate
Heats evenly
East to use
Good quality product with stylish look. The blue digits are fancy.
My new Samsung microwave has certainly made me fall in love with cooking all over again. It’s easy to use, elegant esthetics, money for value microwave. It’s easy to clean , with numerous settings able to help cut usage time cost of electricity, am no expert at advising whether its helped cut my bills but what I can say is that am still putting in through It’s paces and so far so good. The brand name says it all ,easy pay option certainly helps in this financial climate.
Very Happy with this Samsung Microwave. Don’t have a problem with the view through the door, you can see enough that you haven’t forgotten to put something in it! Good Value & love how easy it is to clean inside.
Great microwave easy to use, great looking and lots of different options, like the cleaning function and the presets..
Only bad thing is the light is very dim you can’t see what you’re cooking without opening the door.
Compact size – easy control panel and easy to clean!
Always concerned when buying a new microwave that I’ll struggle to figure out how to use it. This was just so easy. There are still buttons that I haven’t pressed yet, but I can use the microwave no problem. A good buy, would recommend to anyone!
Practical and robust. Super rust proof interior. Off switch for when you want to turn off the clock.
WELL DESIGNED AND EASY TO USE WITH PLENTY OF ROOM INSIDE. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY IF YOU JUST WANT A BASIC MICROWAVE.
Good, sturdy microwave. Last one I had was Sharp and didn’t last a year, hopefully this will do a few years
I ordered this Samsung yesterday and it arrived today Sunday. Very fast delivery. Not used yet but looks great. Went to Currys yesterday but most reasonable priced ones were tiny. This Samsung is normal size and fits in perfectly under my Units. The reason I needed a new one was I mistakenly set my microwave off empty. Thought I had put potatoes in a bowl inside. Completely ruined my microwave. So it is worth checking before setting off your microwave.
It has good dimensions and easy to clean and overall is very good.
2 years after use though the light display has already broken which is disappointing
Cooks well and evenly
Easy to use, good value for money
Quie
Great quality.
Good value for money.
Easy to use regularly and clean.
No problems so far after over a year. Hopefully, it will last half as long as the second hand microwave I received previously.
Quality is great. I’ve used only two functions so far, but it does the job. Easy to clean and looks grea
Ideal, easy to use.
The only problem is the door front is quite dark, which makes it hard to see what’s happening .
I love that I can switch the beeps off. I hate things beeping 6 times when they are done. You can also save energy by turning the clock off. Takes a bit of getting used to the settings, but I’m lazy with that stuff. Cooks my jacket perfect.
Microwave works great, no issues with it’s operations so far. However, it only came with a single rubber foot to stop it from sliding on the counter, so I added 3 more. Another thing I noticed is that it never keeps the correct time.
A value for money, easy to use & clean , would thoroughly recommend, an absolute quality product. Very Pleased.
Big enough for a big plate. Easy to use. Looks realy nice.
Easy to use arrived earlier than expected and looks fine
Obviously better microwave’s on the market but the inside is ceramic which is excellent, if you want to spend 80 on a microwave without a doubt buy this one
The microwave is a great size. It works very well and it is very easy to clean!
simple to use, simple to clean. Not a single problem after months of daily use. No condensed water rusting at the bottom of the unit. Powerful enough for most tasks. There is enough light to see inside if looking level with the machine.
If you press the start & stop buttons simultaneously, it switches the microwave to ‘silent mode’. No more beeps. No more waking people up because you need to use it at midnight or 05:30. For this alone it deserves 5 stars, because this feature is really difficult to find in microwaves.
Fits fullsize dinner plates.
Single button start & go (auto 30 second increments with the start button)
Cons: Just one – there’s no extractor to remove moisture after use, at least that I’m aware of, meaning you have to leave the door open after cooking something steamy. But this is the case with most if not all microwaves unfortunately, so it’s no good looking elsewhere, this feature just doesn’t seem to exist.
Nice looking, solid, easy to use and clean microwave. My only gripe is that the internal light is so dim (or the door glass is too dark) that you can’t see whether anything is boiling over during cooking.
Smart appearance although a slightly loose fitting door and a dial knob that seems to rub, fall short of what I have come to expect from Samsung. The oven functions well and has some nice features. But it really irritates me when you have to download the full user manual, I can’t see why when they can supply a ‘Simple User Manual’ that they can’t just provide a full comprehensive Manual instead, is getting people to print their own instructions really all that more environmentally friendly?
We needed a new microwave after the old one went rusty inside and was not big enough for large dinner plates. I was attracted to the ceramic lining, which my 20yr old grandson noticed and commented it looked really smart. Once you read the instructions it is easy to use. I always read negative reviews before buying and, surprise, surprise, EVERY microwave, whatever the cost, appeares to have the same negative reviews so ignoring them I decided to go for a microwave that I liked the look of and which went with our black granite worktops. The light issue is something all modern microwaves will have. I can see things inside but why do I need to? Once programmed you leave it to cook. As for heating milk and melting butter, I always open the door & check even though I can see it clearly.
Great microwave, compact and black door handle easy to open as I have arthritis. I have download the instructions. They are very easy to follow. We previously had a different make and it kept on leaking, it was a Toshiba. So it went back. Very happy with the Samsung. I like this company, and I’m very happy to recommend this model and the company. Good value for money.
This machine replaced a smaller one and the extra capacity is very useful, even though it’s only used for two people. It features a wide handle rather than push buttons to open and close, so no finger marks to spoil the appearance. The lack of instructions for use is a big problem.
Having a new kitchen fitted gave an opportunity to go with a more modern stylish look; the Samsung solo does everything we need it to do and does it perfectly while at the same time looking good.
I’ve received it today and only used it for heating up ready-meals but so far it works just as perfectly as my last samsung. At first I was put off by reviews saying that it takes longer to heat, not really 800watts, turns on by itself when you open the door…etc. but had no such problems yet. The only thing that’s stuck is the fact that yes, it’s difficult to see your food cooking in there but it performs great so I’m willing to look past that. I can actually see enough through the tinted glass to know that the rotary is functioning but wouldn’t notice any spillages.
Love it Love it Love it
The only problem is you can’t see inside while in operation
Light is very low
Which is a shame really
But still a great ove
I bought the Samsung MS23F301TAK Solo Microwave, 23 litre as it takes large dinner plates, which had been a problem with my previous microwave. I like the features of this item which is very easy to use. In retrospect I should have chosen a 900w version. Hence my 4 star award for value and 5 star for other features.
I purchased this microwave to replace the only previous one I have owned that lasted around 24 years from Panasonic. It still worked although the door/latch had started to stick and did look very dated. I decided it was time for a new model.
I did consider many machines and read many reviews but this one stood out as was relatively feature rich, the ideal size I was looking for, looked good and was a good price.
I do have a couple of minor irritations which are mentioned in other reviews but did not deter my from purchasing although is the reason why I knocked one star off…
1) The user manual included in the box is going some to be called a manual. It barely covers the basics and generally is of little use. Some of the buttons are not self explanatory and do need instructions on what they are and indeed how they are used. The poor manual is easily remedied by visiting the Samsung website and downloading the full version which in my opinion should have been included in the box. I agree that potentially most users will discard the manual at the bottom of a drawer never to be seen again once they have become familiar with the controls but still, not including this in the box is a poor service to the customer.
2) Secondly… the blacked out door. While I appreciate that one of the selling points is the pleasing aesthetics, the door is blacked out and almost opaque to the extent that even in a darkened room and with the internal light shining whilst the machine is in operation it is only possible to make out a very vague outline of the contents. If cooking a liquid… soup, porridge etc. you would never be able to see if it was boiling over without opening the door. I believe the light is there purely to light up the inside when the door is opened so you can then see the contents… it offers little use whilst the machine is in operation.
All that said… it fits in the space I needed it to, has good internal dimensions, looks good, works well and is a good price. I am generally happy with my purchase and based on my requirements I saw no other model out there that I felt was more suited than this one.
Having rusted through my last two microwaves, I thought we would try a ceramic interior enamel one. I can see why they are more expensive. It is more solid, easier to clean and the surface inside is better. Easy to use- very intuitive. Very pleased.
I bought this just over a year ago. It’s been working fine but the knob you have to turn to set the timer is pretty frustrating. Eg if I want to set the timer for 1min 30, it’ll get to 1 min 10 & then randomly go back to 20secs so you have to keep turning it for longer. My next microwave will be purely push-button.
Received very quickly. The instruction booklet is not very good so it is a bit of trial and error getting your head round. All in all a good microwave. Can’t really go wrong with Samsung.
Bought as a replacement for a microwave that had gone rusty, so I hope the ceramic interior will last. Easy to use, it has more things you can use it for than just heating stuff up, but the light is ridiculous! The glass on the door is so dark, that even in pitch black in the kitchen you wouldn’t know the light was on! I like to be able to see that what I’m heating isn’t boiling over, but it’s impossible!! But so far so good. It works as required. Just a pity about the dark glass on the door.
My last microwave (Swan) died after less than a couple of years, so thought I would try a different brand.
First impressions are good. It looks well made, but all the buttons make it a little complicated to use (I had to go online to fin a manual because 1 wasn’t included). I like the ceramic coating on the inside, so hopefully that wont peel off like happens on other cheap microwaves, and it seems to coat food quickly and thoroughly.
Absolutely brillant it’s so easy to clean very easy to use also great for defrosting doesn’t cook it like my old one did , also with the defrosting it has a sensor which is great. Would definitely recommend it. Really good value for the money.
The light inside the microwave is very dim. It is impossible to watch your food cooking. No good for custard/porridge making etc!
Easy to use and good manual to refer to, I like the deodorising setting that keeps the inside of the microwave free from cooking smells ie, Currys etc, highly recommend
It microwaves just fine. You know? Goes brrrr and makes stuff hot.
It has lots of “features” and “programmes” you’ll never use. E.g. an option to just blow the fan to supposedly deodorise the inside after cooking pungent food. In all your life, have you ever really felt a pressing need to deodorise your microwave after cooking? Let’s be honest: you’re just like me and you’ll use exactly two buttons. 1) The “add 30 seconds” button to, well, cook everything. 2) The “stop” button for when you pressed the first button too many times.
The only other thing of note is that it has a REALLY bright clock which you can switch off with a button press, but it comes back as soon as you next touch the microwave anyway. Just let us turn it off!
Only had it for a few hours but already love it.I was researching for a week and this one really ticks all the boxes.Easy to use got a quick 30sec button ,doesn’t get rusty, cooks evenly and looks great.I definitely recommend it very good microwave
This microwave oven cooks food very evenly, I think that’s due to the triple distribution of microwaves. It’s noticeably better. I like the controls, though needed to read the instructions to discover the meanings of the symbols above each button. It only arrived yesterday and look forward to using it regularly. Very glad I bought it.
After using it for almost a year I can tell you this one is better than decent. I was looking at a lot of ovens but I bought this one. Good quality, modern and you can turn off the beeps at night so your SO won’t wake up when you have your warm snacks at 2AM. Oh, and it can cook too.
Bought quickly to replace a previously (rather dramatically) expired microwave.
It’s easy to use, as large as advertised and does exactly what you would expect. Looks great on the kitchen counter.
Pros:
Very easy to use, looks good, warms stuff up.
Cons:
Door seems cheap and not hung 100% horizontal (a fraction off, but it kicks in my ocd).
The feet are not level, had to shove instructions under one foot.
It’s ok, but I expected a little better for 100 quid.
So just got this microwave today tried it out very impressed looks nice Popcorn comes out very nice in this microwave , So I seen some reviews about the light yes it is a little dim but who wants to stare into a microwave while lunch is cooking Not me so doesn’t bother me overall works very well great price for samsung products It does the job
The internal light is nowhere near bright enough…. leaving you to guess whether or not you have selected the correct heat/ defrost setting… hence the four star rating other than that … it’s a good value for money item!
This replaced a decades old model of the same make that finally stopped working. We liked that one so stayed loyal. This one looks swish. Weighs much less than the old one. It seems odd that you can’t see inside but so far it hasn’t been a problem. Pleased we got it.
Bought this as the last cheapo microwave I got from Tesco died after less than a year. We’ve had this one a couple of months now and it seems ok, the build and design is certainly less shoddy than the poverty models. Food is heated up quick enough and there seems to be less hot spots which is nice. Cleaning seems to be easier too.
Would recommend.
Only had the microwave a few days but it works well. I wanted a basic model, easy to set up and operate and this fits the bill completely. Biggest criticism is you can’t see inside the oven when it’s cooking. That’s a shame because otherwise I think it would be excellent.
You know when you buy a Samsung product it will work well and the aesthetics are nice.
The catalytic liner within makes this a breeze to clean.
The heating is decent, there is a cold spot (in mine at least) and may take a while longer to heat than usual.
The different types of settings make this a feature rich microwave.
Good for the price but as others have said you can’t see inside while an item is cooking as the internal film on the door is far to dark. You have to keep opening the door to check on cooking progress.
Finally. A microwave that you can not only turn the clock off, but you can disable the annoying beep. Only down side, like others have mentioned, is you can’t see in as well as you’d want when the door is closed!
It’s also great for storing additional items on top as it has a perfectly flat surface.
I like it…but the inside light is way too dim, I have good eyesight but have trouble seeing if the food is not boiling over.
Gravy, Porridge, custard .
I hope someone will take notice of this because if you were elderly, disabilities or have dexterity issues, you can put your hand inside to find you have you fingers in a scalding foodstuff or liquid.
Very easy to set up and use, comes with detailed instructions on all the functions. Have been using it a few days now with no problems, food heats quickly and the interior is easy to wipe clean the only downside is that either the light isnt powerful enough or the door covering is too thick but you can’t really see the inside of the oven while the food is cooking
A very stylish looking microwave but disappointed with the quality of the finish on the door. Being black, it collected dust, so I gave it a soft wipe with a microfiber cloth, only to find that the cloth had left fine scratches all over the door … I used the same cloth on my old microwave and didn’t have this problem. Very disappointed as this was only 1 day old.
Got this microwave for Christmas and I am very happy with it!! Been using it a few days and it is very easy to use. At first it looked a bit complex but a quick read of the booklet and it all made sense!
The size is very good! It easily can have my 12″ plates in it and still have room to turn. I also have some square plates and they are okay in this microwave too!
The digi clock and timer is great also. I haven’t used yet any of the other functions. I defrosted some chicken in it and put the weight etc and it did a great job defrosting it!
I am very impressed with this! Definitely would recommend!
This samsung microwave looks fabulous aswell as being very easy to understand the buttons. Also having a deodoriser built in helps keep any strong odour away. Also the inside is so easy to keep clean due to having a ceramic lining. This was definitely the right purchase, I would highly recommend for any person to buy as its so simple to use and keep clean. Definitely worth the money.
for general use it’s very good, despite being a little difficult to see the interior through the dark glass
I chose this microwave after reading reviews on Amazon. I was not disappointed, this microwave is excellent, looks good, a doddle to use. Highly recommended.
Bought to replace our old microwave.
This is a great machine. Quieter, easier to clean and cooks better than our old ond.
Looks sleek and classy on our worktop.
My old Russell Hobbs microwave had packed up. I was lazy looking after it (cleaning it etc) and so I knew that my replacement microwave was going to be a Samsung one.
The ceramic interior sold me straight away, plus there is the added bonus of the no odour function. It’s easy to wipe down, looks very smart and expensive.
Super simple to use although I haven’t taken advantage of all the buttons, I generally just use the timer and defrost setting!
So far so good, very happy with my purchase.
The only thing I would say is despite there being protective film over all the buttons and shiny bits, when peeled off I noticed a couple of scratches by the dial and buttons. Not a major issue as it doesn’t affect the use and they’re not too noticeable but I like my brand new purchases to look pristine!
*UPDATE*
Having had the microwave for over 2 months now I can definitely say I would recommend this to anyone. Its powerful and heats up food brilliantly. Have tried all sorts and not had any problems.
Had and old 800w microwave before this one and I’m pleasantly suprised how different it cooks. On the old one a burger placed in the middle would leave this white centre starch on the top middle but with this microwave it cooks evenly throughout so it looks like a fresh burger. Maybe that was a sign the old one was on its way out or this one has a much better way of cooking i like to think. The clock display is a really nice blue colour which you can hide in eco mode if you don’t like flicking a plug switch and it has numerous other functions i’ll never use since I only want to heat food up in it, but it’s large, quiet, cooks evenly and it very stylish. Best microwave we’ve ever had.
It’s weird….it’s like a microwave that isn’t s**t! It works great and doesn’t over cook. The biggest test is that it cooks popcorn perfectly without burning .
PROS:
1: 80% Less CONDENSATION than my previous Microwave.
2: Fits a LARGE 28cm Wide Dinner Plate with ease …. Its Very roomy inside with no lumps or bumps to worry about.
3: Very BiG & Stable Glass Turntable.
4: Ceramic Enamel Interior ( should last longer & be tougher than a spray painted surface that flakes & rusts over time … like my old microwave did )
5: Smooth Performance in Startup & while cooking … No Loud Bangs during startup like the Microwave it replaces.
6: Very Quiet in my opinion …. once again it beats the microwave it replaces in this department with ease.
7: Even though it feels cheap, the Door Closes a lot Nicer & Quieter than my old one.
8: The Deodorization Function … hmmmm sort of works lol
CONS:
1: Feels unnecessarily complicated & difficult to use ( Same view shared by other reviewers on Samsung Microwaves )
2: Internal Light very Very Dim .. to the point of being useless.
3: It took me 2 – 3 days of pressing the same 2 buttons to turn the onboard beeper sounds off & i can finally confirm that its worked … peace & quiet at last. Ive also bumped the review to 5 stars from 4 because i’m impressed that a microwave even has this feature, even though its taken a ridiculous amount of time to implement it.
Summary: Overall its a good product with good internal dimensions !
PS: I will upload helpful photo’s with measurements soon
Hope that helps 🙂
I like to warm up smallpastries, sausage rolls and pies. The timing dial allows me to be precise to the second so over-cooking pastry can be avoided. I also cook rice, bulgur wheat and quinoa in a bag and this is great for reducing cooking times. I have tried some Asda sweet dishes, such as sticky toffee pudding and this produced a perfectly cooked sponge.
