This is such a useful appliance , lightweight manoeuvrable and the battery lasts for ages. We keep it upstairs, now wife wants one for downstairs.

It’s a little heavy so for elderly and disabled may not be great. Charges fast, picks up very well and easy to empty and store.

I live that it’s cordless and you can easily hoover any room. I do tent to keep my finger in high pier mode but I maybe just feel it’s better on high suction. It is a bit too heavy and can fall over easily but you can fold it down to store. I’m happy with the hoover. Recommended.

Good vacuum. Nice and versatile on flat surfaces. Not great for stairs as vacuum head is quite but and heavy product. Overall very happy with purchase. Charge last longer than rival machines.

Best customer service going. 2 years after purchasing this vacuum, a part stopped working. I expected to have to purchase a new one but Shark have sent out the replacement part without any issues.

Also, cordless vacuum works well too. 2 years down and I wouldn’t go change brand. I have previously had VAX and Dyson and prefer this!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent Vacuum cleaner, light weight, no more carrying heavy weight vacuum cleaners and getting out of breath.

Reasonably priced, this light vacuum cleaner you can take upstairs or down without any difficulty. Will get the dirt under furnitures and nook and concerns difficult to teach for heavy models as it lay straight and reach the dirt point.

Sufficient battery life. Once rolled down, it becomes a handy tool. Will highly recommend. Worth the money. Especially from Amazon, the best price and if you want to return in highly unlikely case, easy Amazon returns. No hassle.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been really impressed with this Hoover as I’ve always had dysons I would say the main difference and draw back to the shark is that it’s quite heavy compared to a dyson. I have fibromyalgia so this does really matter to me but on the plus side you don’t need to hold the power button down while using which did cause me pain in my hands. It also has lights on it so I can see the dusk earlier. I’m definitely really happy with it as it was much cheaper than a dyson and would probably stick with Shark in the future. Plus you get a really good battery life guarantee which was my main reason for switching brands

Really pleased with the hoover, I was shocked by how much dirt it collected on the first time I used it. Glides easily from carpet to wooden flooring. Good choice of attachments too.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is my first Shark hoover. This is a great hoover with good features and is very easy to use. It looks really good and stylish. Suction is good and there is a boost button for extra dirty spaces. The only thing is it felt quite heavy compared to my Dyson when it first arrived. It has taken a bit of getting used to as not as lightweight as I had hoped. Apart from that it’s a great hoover just be aware if you have switched from another brand it may be a little heavier than you expect.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI have joint and muscle pain so have been struggling to keep up with our floors in a fairly large house with 4 people and pets. Lugging the hoover up and down the stairs every day has just not been possible for me. The Shark arrived on the weekend and it’s great. Took me a little while to work out how to get the dust/dirt catcher on but once I figured it out isn’t quite easy. Fills ups quickly but once you figure it out it is easy to empty and both my son and my elderly father have vacuumed their rooms today. The shark is a hit. I like the fact that it can turn into a hand-held vacuum as well for the car, sofa and stairs. I find the carpet vacuum is much better than the floor vacuum but will try the other attachment to see how that is and possibly use the suction attachment for the sides i.e. against the wall/skirtings. Overall, I am very happy with it. I used Barclays Finance which was very easy and quick and even though I had to return another item in my order the instalment plan was adjusted.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersSeen these advertised on TV many times but the price has always put me off. Tried several other much cheaper cordless but their dust buckets are too small and/or low suction. Definitely a case of ‘you get what you pay for’.

The Shark is quite heavy but very efficient at what it does. Boost button for more suction and it stores away great. Very good maneuverability on the head (which even has lights so you can see in dark corners).

I have a shop within an old building with 10 rooms – cables get in the way which prevent hoovering when customers are on the premises in case they trip. With the Shark, we can nip around really easily, keeping out of they way of customers. It doesn’t get heavy use but certainly does the task well for us.

I would certainly recommend and, in fact, I am considering buying one for home use as well. It won’t replace my trusty Vax which is great for pet hair but, it is easier for spot cleans and the kitchen floor.

Easy to assemble and use. Looks great too and suction is amazing. It’s not too loud either. Quick release battery enables you to charge from any socket. So easy to empty the container too. If you register with Shark you also get a free 5 year guarantee. They even confirm this to you by post. The battery has a 2 year guarantee. My only tiny criticism is the LED light is unnecessary and could have extended the battery life which is only 40 mins. Overall though this unit is worth every penny.

What a great machine. Does everything we want it to do unlike our previous Dyson waste of money. This is a far better vacuum all round though a tad heavier. Bought a spare battery just in case (never needed it yet) and the dog attachment which is fab, especially good on the stairs. Fab pick up on both carpets and hard flooring.
All for a lot less than a new Dyson.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPros: Lightweight, manoeuvrable, small footprint for storage, pretty good run time, can do the house much more quickly and effectively and with less sweaty effort than lugging my clunky corded old Henry up and down the stairs with me and forcefully pushing it over the carpet. This seems to glide by itself with little input from me

Cons: doesn’t work on shag pole rugs as just cuts out. So going to end up having to keep the old Henry just for that, which means I now have to find storage room for both vacuums which has defeated the object somewhat. Tried using the furniture upholstery attachment on the rug instead but it’s too small to do it. Need a non-brush roller attachment for that really. Attachments could do with having a ball joint for manoeuvring, rather than having to use it at a fixed angle. Would be handy if attachments were on the unit rather than lugging them in a bag with me and finding I’ve lost them. And, why on Earth does it have headlights? Surely that’s a battery drainer? I can’t work out why I’d need those? Is hoovering in the dark a “thing”?

This is so good. And at a fraction of the cost of certain overhyped models…. Really good to use, works very well and am.a convert now to the accessability if cordless. Will never go back. Shark are an excellent company.

This is an attractive colour cleaner with strong suction and numerous adaptations. However it is not light but very top heavy making it awkward to use for a pensioner with limited strength. Also it is complicated to put together if you are not technically adept.
My old Vax cleaner was much lighter, easier to use with the dust receptacle at the bottom resulting in better control.
I am disappointed that for me it is unsuitable so I had to return. It is a very good cleaner and possibly a younger fit person would not experience the problems I did. However I think having the small dust receptacle at the top unbalances it and is a poor design making it less easy to use.

Best hoover I’ve had in ages. Did a lot of research on this and decided to go for it. It’s not as lightweight as I thought it would be but it’s better than most and overall it’s a great hoover. The extra attachments are also really useful. If you’re on the fence about it just do it!

This is my first cordless vacuum. For Shark and the amount you have to pay for the product, I havent had a great experience so far. Its not designed to be very user friendly and for some very basic stuff you have to go over the manual again. I have had much cheaper products that i can easily use out of the box. The head’s quite big. My previous one (not from Shark) had a slim edge and could reach edges and corners much more easily. I have a small space with quite a bit of items lying around. A big head doesnt help much in that situation. Its also heavy which i guess is common in cordless vacuums.

Suction is great and it pulls up all hair very easily. I use it on a tiled floor. It seems better for big spaces.

UPDATE: I have gotten used to it. It’s definitely easier to use and much more portable compared to a wired vacuum. Didnt realize how much hassle a wire plugged in can be until now. Some corners are still hard to reach even with full suction on but for me its still worth the investment. Battery’s running great. I have been using it for over 6 months now and its running well

  36. FelicitasCortez says:

     United Kingdom

Suction is great, it picks up very closely to the edge of the wall and it has two settings – one for the smooth surface (eg tiles) and one for the carpet.
It’s heavier than the Dyson cordless I had before (which didn’t last all that long) but it’s great because it folds in half (see pic) and it can easily be hidden behind something else (if you don’t have a cupboard to put it in). Also, this might sound shallow, but this is also a more subtle green colour and not a bright, almost luminous pink like the Dyson was.
Also, again compared to the Dyson, the power lasts longer and you don’t need to empty the “bin” part of the device so often. I recommend this vacuum cleaner.

    Great vacuum cleane

This is my third cordless cleaner. Both needed replacement pieces which either cost as much as a new one or couldn’t be replaced and both had a 2yr guarantee and only lasted that long, and I look after my machine.
I have only had this one about a month so early days but having a 5yr guarantee makes me a little more confident. It is a powerful machine which is easy to empty and the filters are easy to clean. Best of all is the flexibility of the main cleaner head, it is fantastic . At the press of a button is glides under and around my chairs and tables going from hard floors to carpet with ease. I would have given it 5* but it is fairly heavy however I have got used to that and it also has a long handle which unfortunately isn’t adjustable but the cleaning results outweigh the minor problems.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI am overall incredibly happy with this vacuum. The suction power is brilliant, the anti hair wrap works well it is very easy to use.
There are however some things that got it to 4 stars instead of 5 for me.
Disclaimer; I’ve got two golden retrievers and I myself have long hair so we’re really pushing the limits of the anti-hair-wrap system.

    Pros:
-Suction power is brilliant, can clean my dark carpet totally free of dog hair and other dust in one go.
-Battery time is really good, lasts about 40 minutes with mostly hardwood floor and some carpets
-Attachments are versatile and easy to use
-It’s quite lightweight, but rolls easily which helps with the weight.

    Cons:
    -It’s difficult to clean
I found that the wheels quickly get wrapped and tangled in hair. The wheels do come off with a little power to be able to get it off but I find I have to do this every time I clean it. The little roller in front also tends to get quite dirty and some larger pieces gets stuck in the anti-hair wrap which means you have to get your hand and manually get it out which is a bit bothersome. I’ve also had the long handle get blocked up quite easily occasionally when hoovering carpets with a lot of dog hair so dog owners keep in mind to always check the entry of the filter and long barrel for blockage.

Live in an old house, mainly floorboards with animals – so lots of dust and animal hair. Quickly charges and picks up all of the detrius with minimal effort. I can do the whole house in one charge. The “bendy” shaft is absolutely priceless and allows me to get under the furniture without having to move everything around. Recommended buy.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI agree with all comments in other reviews. We have a corded Henry whom we still use for proper deep cleans and heavy duty vacuuming, e.g. cars.

The Shark is brilliant, but not made for picking up little bits of stick that the dog has dissected I have to add! But it does a decent job for a daily clean and picks up the dog hairs well – the attachments are easy to exchange if you want to get into small spaces, and it’s not too heavy to get into the high window corners or other awkward spaces.

We had a blockage which meant the motor was starting to sound different – I contacted Amazon about this. We’d been cleaning the filters regularly but not the long stick part. Help was offered immediately and resolved the issue, much to my relief. I had feared that the motor was damaged, but all is smooth and slick again now.

All parts were relatively easy to disassemble and we managed to clear it so it sucks and sounds great again. The blockage was caused by some of the bits of stick the dog had chewed into pellet sizes… though now we know what to look out for 🙂

To clean the stick, you’d need to insert a longer object to remove the blockage though it also separates into enough small parts for you to get it with a little knock to move whatever lumps are in there.

For easy charging you can just remove the battery and place that on any surface so no need to find a big space to plug the whole thing in – this I also only discovered more recently and we can now charge it anywhere. The battery generally lasts us a week or so for a daily quick 10 minute once-over.

Overall it’s obviously not quite as strong as Henry in terms of suction but enough for our purposes, and the children actually enjoy vacuuming these days!

I had to research before buying , I’ve had a dyson for years but it decided to die tried to fix it with no joy. I quite like how much easier cleaning up with this machine is compared to my old one. It does have a slightly smaller head unit but in return it fits into tighter bays between the furniture. Head lights are cute but I want pop-up headlights!

The stick joint feels a little wobbly at the folding joint, holds up well but with thicker carpet flooring it flexes a tiny bit. I have some question marks above my head about how long it’ll last. The dust tank, in my opinion could be a little bit bigger, I don’t have a big house but I had to empty it 3 times to get it all done.

That being said, cleaning up is made much easier for me so I’m quite happy with this machinery.

I bought this as I already have a corded Shark anti hair wrap, which is amazing, does everything it says it will. So imagine my disappointment the first time i used this, the brush was just wrapped in all the hair it had picked up (I should have listened to the other reviews). On the plus side it is every bit as good as the corded for suction power. It was a bit heavier than i expected, having had a dyson cordless before, but once you are using it you don’t notice. Another good thing is the dual setting for carpet and hard floors, and that you don’t have to hold the switch down unless you want extra power. Over all I am really pleased with cordless vacuum. Although it lost a star due to me having to clear the hair from the brush each time i use it.

This handheld vacuum cleaner literally changed the way I clean. It is so quick and easy to use and tucks away by folding in just a few seconds.

As I don’t have to pack it in it’s box after every use I can just pick it up and use it every time I want to.
Vacuuming is no longer a chore, but is actually enjoyable.

Has great suction power and really cleans and sucks the dust out of carpets. The extra power function works well for carpets.

The battery is also decent when it comes to usable time. I have 2-bedrooms and open space living and the battery is just about enough to vacuum the whole apartment and one of the bedrooms with extra power. I don’t mind having to recharge the battery though. It’s worth not having to carry bulky hoovers and trying to find a suitable plug to clean my house.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am used to using the leading brand to hoover but after having numerous battery issues I decided to give this a go as there was 150.00 discount from the RRP.

I must say initially I was a bit wary because I used to just heavily rely on the reputation of the other brand but I felt like I had to be careful with this because it was new and unknown.

I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a little bit heavy to start with but moves with ease. I don’t believe I have used all its capabilities yet but it has plenty of potential.

My only disappointment is with the anti hair wrap technology. I admit that this was a huge selling point because the leading Serling brand do not have this and me and my daughter both have long hair that clogs the brush up. Unfortunately this hoover still clogs the brush which it claims not to do. Albeit not as much as other brands. Please see pic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than I expected!

I’ve been wanting a Shark for quite a while now, after several friends/colleagues recommended them. I actually bought mine from Amazon Warehouse so it was cheaper than the regular retail price, and an absolute bargain.

It’s really easy to put together. I didn’t need to look at any instructions as it was very intuitive. It’s easy to change the attachments. Easy to fold. Easy to unfold. Easy to charge. And overall makes the job of hoovering so much more of a joy. We have ours in the kitchen and I now hoover every night and it’s no effort to do so, so our flat stays nice and clean.

The suction is very good. Almost too good in that it literally will try to hoover up anything in its way (eg my thin rug, dressing gown tie, socks…). Thanks to the mechanism of the head, none of this actually got suctioned up. It just makes the hoover stop and then you pull the item out and begin again.

The only reason I have dropped a star is because it doesn’t vacuum so well when you pull the Shark towards you. When vacuuming forward, it’s great, but I find I have to cover an area by going over it in this way.

    Overall, I would highly recommend.

It’s a really impressive stick vacuum. The battery life is inconsistent – but this varies on usage pattern (hard flooring vs carpet and boost usage). Suction is good. The tool is good for the carpet. Using it on the stairs is tricky. Good in handheld mode, but more fiddly that our Miele C3, minus the handling.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWas so excited to get this hoover (showing my age I know) putting it together takes seconds *check* comes with lots of nifty attachments *check* and straight out the box kinda feels heavy….. however when you switch it on the magic happens… with the front roller on it kinda drives itself; eating up the carpet and you just gotta hang on!! … that my friend I give a 10/10 anything that’s less effort on my part is a winner.
When I first got it I thought the little light on the head was laughable, I mean wtf right… just using battery power that you’ve never got enough of anyway…. well I’ll tell you now I was WRONG if I hoover without my glasses on it becomes the most incredible little toy detector in fact they should rename it the lego finder 3000!!! So another *check*
Right now I do have a massive problem with this hoover and it’s a big one….. if you live in a normal house, with kids and pets and those fully grown men (or women) babies that make mess for fun; then you are going to be unblocking this thing 100times a room…. why oh why can’t they just make the tube wider there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of girth guys!! Baring in mind that this was probably designed by men I’m surprised!! It reminds me of my ex all the promise with none of the prowess!!!
Get yourself a unblocking stick and get ready!! Luckily they at least made it slightly easier for you by being able to take different parts apart to get in easier… if you live in one of those immaculate hinch type show homes I’m sure this won’t be a problem for you…. (lucky b*ggers)
I can’t comment on the bend in the middle doberiewotsit as all our furniture is too low to allow the head underneath as I’m sure most modern furniture is… meaning that part is useless and it’s still a pull it all out and hoover underneath job!!
That being said I’m not put off this hoover… I don’t hate it…. its just infuriating, I’m forever hopeful an XL model will come out and then I’ll be all over it!!!

I have been interested in the Shark vacuums for a while and bit the bullet with this model as it was on offer. I haven’t regretted it. The anti-hair wrap technology is great and I haven’t got/had any hair caught around the mechanics. I did look on the Shark website and they say if this does happen, to hold the power boost button for a few minutes and this should dislodge any hair caught. As yet, I haven’t experienced this. The house has never felt so clean. The hoover has fantastic suction and the lights at the front are great for showing up the dust, enabling you to pick up so much more than a conventional vacuum. The bag for the accessories is a really nice touch for storage too. I like the fact that you have a separate setting for hard or soft flooring. The battery life is excellent. I followed the first use instructions in the manual to ensure that I set the battery up properly. The five-year guarantee is very easy to set up via Shark’s website too. I am hugely impressed with Sharks offering and this model of vacuum. Shark is definitely now my choice for future appliances.

Well what can I say I was super excited to get a hoover that worked but it is not as lightweight as mentioned, certainly not for someone who is 7stone in weight and 4’11” with emphysema and other health issues. So if you are healthy it’s great and if not you will just have to let your husband do the hoovering to get him excercised.

Not as good as I was hoping for or what the reviews I’d read had suggested. It’s light and easy to use. Good for stairs and maintaining the cleanliness of the home. It’s also handy for the car but doesn’t in my opinion compete with our Dyson.

Love love love this hoover, it has great suction, can be folded to be stored neatly which is fab if you’re like me and like in a flat, it’s so easy to use and cokes with lots of attachments and a bag to store them in, just two things, the first is despite it being anti hair wrap, you do get hair in the hoover brush that needs to be pulled out, but that’s not too much of a problem and tbh is a lot easier to do on this hoover than a lot of others I’ve used, the second point is that I can’t comment on how it is to use on stairs as I live in a flat, but my mum has one similar and uses it to hoover round the whole house everyday and is thrilled with it.

Although heavier than my previous stick vacuum it feels more robust as does the job very well. I like the light on the front as you can see what to pick up. Also helpful not having to change heads between hard floors and carpet. Would recommend.

We have waiting a few days to write this review as before purchasing as lot of reviews we saw mentioned that the batter life wasn’t the best.

Before I say anything, I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with only our living room and bedroom being carpeted, the rest of the place has laminate. We also have no kids but 2 cats.

For us, this vacuum is amazing. It’s light weight and powerful and a full charge can last us 2-3 days. That being said I think if you have a busy household I would defiantly recommend you go for the corded model.

Either way, amazing vacuum, powerful suction and I like the fact it can go to a handheld. It came boxes really well and we even have a tote bag that we are using to keep the charger and all extension pieces i

I bought the IZ201UKT pet hair version in blue. It seems that the reviews of different shark models amalgamate into similar models.
However, the reason for my review is that they were quite mixed and I was in two minds whether to buy.
I have to say, it’s pretty awesome! I didn’t think my house was that dirty, either that or I thought my old trusty plug in was really good and it’s not. Other reviews mention this is heavy and it is but I wasn’t put off by this because we have thick pile carpets so I figured the weight will stop me pushing down so much making it easier and it does. However, those with arthritis may struggle!
The power is perfectly fine, pretty strong actually for a cordless and I saw a photo where someone had cable tied the power boost – this is not needed unless perhaps they were used to a black hole vacuum! (No offense!)
All the extensions were included with a handy bag to store them in.
The battery seems plentiful for day to day hoovering too. I noticed some reviews mention there not being a wall bracket, for us we wanted to be able to charge anywhere as we don’t have space for a wall bracket but it will be down to personal preference.
Overall, it’s perfect for what we need (a secondary upstairs hoover). I would recommend it, it’s built well, meets most desires from a cordless that is affordable!

The Shark is a bit top-heavy with the battery at the top of the handle but, apart from that, it’s a great vacuum cleaner and so much better than any I’ve had previously. Also, the battery lasts long enough to clean right through our carpeted bungalow – a definite plus – and easy to empty too.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersWe’ve had a corded Shark HV320UKT stick since 2018, and it was amazing at first (the power!), but it’s become less convenient over the years (not great for under sofas/tables, loses suction quickly) even though I’ve maintained it well. My BIGGEST pet hate about the old one was THE HAIR! And I was the only one who would get rid of it.

When I got the IZ201 and set it up, it looked too flimsy and small to be able to compete, so I was worried. Charged it overnight and turned it on the next day and just the lack of loud, powerful vacuuming noises made me even more worried. I thought that there’s no way this could compete! I also saw quite a few reviews about the Anti-hair wrap not working as it should. I was starting to get buyer’s remorse!

Well I gave it a go on the hard floor first as we always need to every day (kids – it’s a daily struggle) and to my surprise, it sucked up everything without so much as a sweat, or a do-over. It’s just so quiet in comparison! I did the sofa and it got rid of so much dust too! The flexology is a god-send in my house and it works very well. I like that I can attach the other bits to the long end of the pole for harder/further to reach places. It just sucks up everything, things were looking good, but then came the carpet job…

I’m not going to lie, my carpets are full of my missus’ and her family’s hair when they come to visit (so many girls! So much hair!) and it drives me insane. I literally have to cut the hair out of the old stick with a knife after every extended vacuum. With the new IZ, it was really powerful on the carpet mode, but still comparatively quiet. All the dust was being collected like normal. I was ecstatic to see there was no discernible difference in suction power. Again, flexology and the extended reach came in very handy for the kids’ room (beds, wardrobes in corners, etc!). And the fact that I’m not tethered to a cable is brilliant.

After doing all the rooms, I knew I was going to be disappointed to see all the hairs in the motor head, but lo and behold, there wasn’t a single one – Anti-hair wrap works! This alone is a godsend!

The emptying mechanism is so much easier and less messy than the old stick. The battery lasts longer than I thought it would (I actually got about 35 mins in varied modes) and it’s lightweight for me. I really like its foldable stowaway position (it doesn’t fall over and needs no hooks). Again, cordless is a massive plus! But Anti-hair wrap wins this all day, every day for me!

There’re only 2 things I can say negatively about the IZ. The first is the capacity. I did have to empty the dust bucket twice for the whole house clean – the old stick can comfortably do a whole house without needing emptying, but this is nothing that upsets me. The second is that you have to buy an Anti-hair wrap motorised-head pet tool (30.00) for the stairs to get them real clean. This one irks me a bit more, but the positives greatly outweigh this, so I’ll let it slide!

I know I’m an old man, because I’m so damn excited about this vacuum cleaner – it really is like a sad new gadget/toy for me, but it looks great and does the job fantastically well! Definitely no buyer’s remorse here!

So I read several reviews on several websites before I bought this. Its nowhere near as heavy as a standard corded vacuum, much more lighter. Easy to assemble and use, great manoeuvrability as the head swivels easily. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn’t stand upright, it falls backwards! You have to fold it in half to stand it independently. I vacuumed 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen and hallway all hard floor on 1 charge and there was no loss of suction. The headlight really shows up dirt and dust. It wouldn’t vacuum my deep pile mat as it kept getting stuck and the roller heads stopped turning, but that was resolved by using one of the attachments. The charger is just a mains lead, no charging station or wall mount, but that isn’t an issue for me. Its a lot quieter than a corded vacuum so I thought the suction may not be good but it works just as well. You will need to empty the dust bin after each use as it’s capacity is quite small, again not an issue for me. I am really pleased with my purchase!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersOK it’s not a dyson v15 nor is it as good as our old miele c3 cylinder but it does a decent job and the battery life is fine.

I don’t find it heavy but I haven’t tried other stick or cordless cleaners.

You may need to use it in turbo mode for other than light duties.

It is also cheap – and has a 5 year warranty so I am happy.

Had it for a few days now and some more thoughts:

    – the floor cleaning tool just happens to slide under our sofa ( dfs standard build ) useful in conjunction with the bend mode of the shaft.

    – it’s just as well because there is NO flex hose available for this model so that you could use it as a mini cylinder cleaner with a crevice tool at the end.

Slightly disappointed by the latter: it would have been a useful add on. The flex hose that Shark sells will not fit this model. The car detailing kit has a flex hose but it is exactly that – for detailing – not heavier duty work. If you can’t get a straight line of sight to use the crevice tool then tough. I cannot use this IZ201 cleaner to valet a car – can’t get under and around car seats etc.

NOTE: one major advantage of the Dyson V7 etc is that a proper extension hose IS available.

On the anti pet hair claim – it works a bit but like all others that I have tried you still need to untangle hair from the rollers and the bearing at the front often.

The turbo floor cleaner has a tendency to jam on loose fit fluffy carpets – just a minor annoyance.

Still haven’t used a full battery charge – had been wondering about getting a spare battery but no need and they are pricey – about 80 quid.

I still don’t think I should have got a different make of stick/upright cleaner but I notice that you can get a cordless “Henry” which might have been more use to clean car/ caravan but not in the house since we also have a Miele corded which will gobble up anything not nailed down if you let it.

    After 2 weeks daily use:

I only would add that it does a reslly good job of picking up right at the edges using the carpet tool.

Switching it to turbo occasionally I find it does a good job of cleaning all but really heavy mess where I would still use a Miele cylinder. In spite of first thoughts, the non turbo mode is quite effective in most situations.

am getting a second battery for convenience – expensive ! but they all are.

The product was purchased to do general house cleaning. I did get a spare battery which did cost quite a lot. Still I have it now. I would say for general house cleaning it is ok and the steer ability is a nice feature. With what we have vacuumed up except for spilt washing up powder the pipework has stayed clear. The fine powder seemed to get stuck although some was deposited in the dust container. Bag less is good. I would only use it for smaller items to suck up. It did get stuck on half a twiglet but eventually managed to do so. It does suck up peanuts using the lead and pipe.. Any heavier job would need a different style of vacuum. Over all it does the job it was intended for but no more. Suction is ok. Watch out for a small piece of black plastic trim falling off the dust collector. It got stuck in the rotary section at the front of the vac. See pictures. Shark customer services were good and stated they would change the vacuum. I said it still appeared to work ok but had to dismantle the front of the vacuum to get it out. My reason for the contact was to highlight the issue. It was stuck on with not very sticky glue. It seemed to serve no useful purpose and I have not re applied it. This customer services agreed with.

Like I have said great for general cleaning. It looks good as well. Battery life is ok. Steer is ok. Extension is ok. The bag for the tools is a nice touch.

Top tip. Make sure to take the battery off before removing rollers at the front or your fingers will get cleaned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use.

This cordless vacume has very good suction. All the females in the family have long hair and so far it’s handled this well. It’s a little heavier than the Dyson animal cordless and on the stairs you can’t just run it over the stairs without using the tools provided unlike the Dyson. It has a bigger dust collection capability than the Dyson animal. I would recommend this it is good.

Replaced a cordless Dyson with this and although it is noticeably heavier than the Dyson and doesn’t come with a wall mount (which I didn’t use anyway!), it performs equally (if not better) than its rival brand. It does bend in half and fold away neatly which is nice – it has headlights which is an odd addition (for those stealth night-time vacuums? It is quiet so possibly!).

Been wanting to replace my old other 3 vacuum cleaners for ages & not purchased a new one in over 14 years. Had seen this & liked the concept but it was way to expensive for my budget. Then a week before Black Friday I read a report from Martin Lewis recommending the best Shark deals & where to get them. Thanks to Martin I purchased the model I wanted for less than half price from Amazon. Thrilled to bits. It arrived the next day & couldn’t wait to get it out the box. So easy to put together & there was a little bit of charge on the battery so I was able to try it out straight away. Baring in mind I vacuumed the day before, I was astonished how much it picked up. My dog doesnt shread that much fur but suprising what it picks up & copes with long hair fine with the anti- hair wrap. Its light in weight & makes vacuuming the whole house less of a work out. Easy doing stairs as you only need the top section. It comes with a handy bag for the tools. I love the lights at the front as they show up any dust build up on my ceramic flooring & under settees/bed. Its easy to clean & wipe & wash out the dirt section, something I do at least once a month. Its a fantastic vacuum, really happy with purchase would highly recommend. As its Which recommended I knew it would be good, but its even better than expected & all for less than half the price. Resul

Firstly, it is top heavy, but actually once you get the hang of it, its managable. Its like a small excited dog that pulls away from you, so you don’t need any effort, it floats away.
Secondly, it folds down very small and takes up hardly any room.
Suction – I am used to my previous Meile raising up carpets and rugs it was so powerful. This is just as powerful but in a different way…somehow, and can go from carpet to rug easily, cleaning without moving them.

I was amazed by some reviews expecting way too much from a vacuum cleaner. I mean, you do have to pick up some things on your floor first – large items or things that would damage the inside! For dust, hair, paper, tissue etc it is excellent. I missed a small coin and it picked that up, but I doubt the vacuum would last if that was done often at high speed into a plastic collector.
It is relatively quiet and although doesn’t seem too powerful, there was a lot more in the see-thru collector than I expected after one go over my hallway! So its more powerful than it seems.
    Takes about 45mins to charge.

Only downside so far is that the main brush is not great at going right to edges, but the accessory does. Stairs are fine with that accessory too.
Because of the weight perhaps not suitable for someone frail doing their stairs.
Overall, I am more than happy. Yay. Good not having leads lying around. Just use quickly and fold down. Sorted.

I’ve used a Dyson for years. Last one was a very and was very happy until I got a dog it clogged up with hair all the time. The shark does not clog up I’ve had it a few weeks now so on the plus side the anti hair tangle works,as you can see from my pic no hair on bottom. It picks up dog hair well and has settings for both hard floor and carpet. Very pleased with suction of machine it does what I need it to do. It is also lots easier to empty than the Dyson. On the negative side there’s no docking port the machine tips up if you don’t fold in half for storage and you have to remove battery to charge. However saying that its Easy to remove and you can plug in where you like. I keep forgetting to plug in and end up with a flat battery. I much preferred the docking station on the dyson as always ready to use. The shark is also alot heavier than the Dyson and the main head is alot bulkier. I would not recommend to an old person or if you have atheritis due to weight.
So my verdict is overall is its bulkier but does the actual job of vacuuming better than the Dyson. So I would recommend the shark if you have pets other wise go for the dyso

I had a Bosch Athlet Serie 6 that I got last Black Friday – it was a nightmare. Difficult to empty and clean, the roller clogged up with hair and the filter with dust so quickly I spent more time with it in pieces rather than actually vaccuming. Literally took less than a year before it broke in half at the joint between the handle and the main unit – first the latch securing the 2 parts cracked and required superglueing together, then the plastic guides inside went (probably from the extra lateral movement after parts started to fail). Eventually the entire mechanism between the 2 parts cracked and failed and it was dead.

The Shark feels much better made straight away, and the dual roller head and better motor definitely pick up more than the Bosch. It’s much easier to make portable and comes with a better range of tools/attachments. I’m not sold on the “Flexible” shaft – really can’t think of enough use cases to justify adding another potential point of failure…. unless you REALLY need to store it in a short cupboard??

Interestingly, after the initial charge and use the battery indicators starting flashing in a way that wasn’t listed in the manual – 1st and 3rd LED’s. Apparently this is because the battery cells need to cool down before charging starts again… Interesting that they don’t make this information available in the book because I was panicking that it was going to be a RMA job!

Bought to replace our ageing Dyson which now won’t go for more than a couple of minutes without giving up. The Shark was chosen (a) because of its famed efficiency with pet hair, and (b) because the Amazon offer was over 100 off!
Certainly works well and is easy to use once you get the hang. The anti-hair-wrap feature is a godsend — no more endless unclogging of the head roller. The two-position switch works well — hard floors/carpets — plus the trigger for a boost when needed. Easy to empty the container. And the canvas bag for accessories is a nice touch. All well thought out, even if Mr Dyson had the basic idea first! But it’s very heavy — OK if you treat it like an old-fashioned upright, instead of a hand-held with a long neck like the Dyson.
Shame it doesn’t have a charging cradle like the Dyson. The trailing cable is awkward, especially when the unit is parked in folded position which means the plug into the battery is underneath.
(Registering for the guarantee on line was an unnecessarily fiddly process — scanning the QR code (once I had found it!) didn’t seem to work.)
If we can get the Dyson fixed we’ll keep that too. And we also have a Henry, which feels like a ‘real’ machine. But overall I would recommend the Shark, especially for houses with pets.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersWe had never owned a cordless stick vacuum before and despite the good reviews I was a bit worried about some of the potential downsides e.g. uncomfortable to use, not enough suction power, short battery life. However after a week or so of using I’m delighted.
+ So easy to use and convenient compared to a corded hoover. Packs away nice and neatly in the cupboard and if I ever fancy doing a bit of hoovering or notice a small spill it takes moments to get this set up compared to wrestling a big hoover out the cupboard, unwinding the cord, finding a place to plug in etc. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how powerful a hoover if it never gets used because using it is boring.
+ Battery life is plenty for our relatively small 3 bedroom. A single charge easily covers the entire house if I’m doing a thorough clean, if I want to do a quick hoover I can do the entire house 2+ times on a single charge.
+ Suction seems good. Plenty of dust coming away from our carpets and I’ve not noticed anything that it has failed to pick up so far.
+ Not as heavy as I had feared by some of the reviews. It’s not exactly light but I think for the majority of people the weight won’t be a problem.

Heard so many good reviews of the Shark vacuums I bought one and wasn’t to be disappointed.
The vacuum is modern, stylish and manoeuvres perfectly not to mention breaks down easily for vacuuming stairs etc. I’m actually considering buying another to keep upstairs although the lightweight construction makes it easy to transit between floors.
The Shark folds down very nicely indeed and can be broken down further giving more storage options.
My house is quite big therefore I need to rotate my cleaning especially when operating on full power as the battery life can drain quicker, I may even consider a corded Shark for the downstairs areas. My mother bought one after seeing my Shark although corded as she had also heard nothing but good reviews, however I’ll no doubt stay with cordless.
In general, very impressed so far and love the modern look, handling and power.

It’s new so no idea how long I’ll be as happy with it as I am now and I am. Never had a cordless before and that in itself is so great, didn’t realise how much better it would be. The suction power is really good, with 4 cats all with thick fur one longhair, all shedding in the summer heat I really notice the difference between this and other hoovers I’ve had and it’s all to the good for the Shark. Easy to do the stairs using the motorised pet hair tool. I bought that separately as was cheaper that way. The charge lasts well but I would advise getting the model that lasts longer. Most of the time it’s fine but sometimes when doing a more thorough clean of the whole house it needs to be recharged before I can finish. I may buy a second battery. The dust needs to be emptied each use but I’m happy with that as is easily done and I’ve been in the habit of doing that anyway. It’s lightweight easy to handle and for me a pleasure to use. I really like the lights on it, they make a difference. To conclude, let me say I’m 71, not as strong or as steady on my feet as I used to be and this small machine has made one at least daily job much easier and more pleasant. I’m sure my house is cleaner too.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I had a cordless off brand hoover that didn’t do a terrible job, but after only 2 years it broke, so I switched back to my trusted Henry. I have hEDS, so Henry was much too cumbersome and heavy to use without injuring myself.
I decided to spend the extra money and get a shark bc I’d heard they’re great and this model seemed small and lightweight. As someone with a disability, I need that.

The Shark is Fantastic. All the suction of a good corded vacuum, without being tethered to the wall. I have 2 sons at home and a cat therefore lots of mess.

It’s easy to set up and put together, easy to use, no messing about on different floor surfaces. Easy to empty, store, change tools, charge. I’ve had no issues with the anti hair wrap and I have long hair. 40mins run time is enough to do my whole house plus. It comes with a bag of tools and I got the pet hair head separately as we’re about to add a puppy to our family. It folds down and fits neatly behind my kitchen door.
The only criticism I have is it’s a bit top heavy, so stairs can be a little awkward.

This is extremely handy for hard floors. My wife is a childminder and likes to keep on top of the places and after eating some days it’s a good job. Was a bit fed up of the plug in Van ( good vacuum it’s just the wire plugging in ) so after many years decided a battery one might be useful. She is delighted with it and I must say I think it’s not bad either. Only thing 40 minute battery time? No. I’d give it no more than 25 and that’s mainly in the lowest setting. Thing is it’s a lithium ion battery so no memory for discharge so when it reaches bottom light of the 3 put it on charge again, which can be done on the vacuum no need to remove the battery pack. A 2nd battery is advice but my wife won’t go for it. As a mechanic I use a lot of lithium battery powered tools spare battery or batteries is my advice. Spare approx 79.99 but for some reason Amazon doesn’t ship this to Northern Ireland. Why Amazon? I can get it on eBay and I can get it off Shark UK site shipped to my home address. Frustrating Amazon frustrating

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI spent a long time umming and ahhing over which cordless vacuum to purchase and I’m so pleased I chose this.
The design is sleek in a lovely colour with clever design to fold over for easy storage.
The suction is fantastic and gets out so much dirt from the carpet you wouldn’t know was there. Feels like it’s not doing anything until you look in the collection compartment and it’s full. In fact it’s got such good power it almost pulls itself along.
I was worried it was going to be heavy and it’s not as heavy as I thought it would be. Sure there may be lighter ones, but perhaps not ones that pack a punch like this does.
Battery life lasts really well, just made sure to follow the instructions which tell you how to prepare it properly for best use.
Pet tool is great for using on stairs and sofas etc, really pulls the pet hair out.
Lights are always handy, especially on the laminate flooring to see the crumbs not usually seen.
The switch between laminate/hardwood floor mode is fantastic and the extra power button comes in handy if anything grips onto carpet.
I’d definitely recommend purchasing this, you really won’t be disappointed!

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI bought this to replace my dyson V6.

    * It is much quieter than the dyson.
    * It is also much heavier, be prepared to sometimes use two hands.
    * The fold-away looks cute and takes up hardly any space – however be careful to press the correct fold buttton and not the quick release of the hoover end (dropped it twice)
    * Battery lasts a long time and Charging is quick and easy.
    * The suction on the attachments are fantastic in comparison to Dyson.
    * Works great on hard flooring and doesn’t spit debris across the floor like the dyson does.
    * Works great on what i thought was a hoovered rug.

Note: If you get something small stuck and it doesn’t come out – simply tip the hoover upside down and spin the rollers and it usually falls right out.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersLove this cordless vacuum, more powerful than my last one. Love the fact that, when using as a handheld, it’s just as powerful. Also like the boost trigger and the folding for easy storage. And yes, the hair wrap function really works brilliantly. As I live in an apartment, I cannot comment on its use on stairs, but as the handheld is so powerful, I think it would be great.

Golden Review Award: 50 From Our UsersCan not fault this, had to replace my dyson which has been a nightmare. I can’t believe I’ve not bought a shark sooner, yes it’s a bit heavier but it picks up crumbs/dust no problem, much more powerful than my dysons have ever been! Would highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is the first vacuum cleaner that I use of this kind. I have owned Dysons vacuum cleaners before but I decided to get this one for two reasons:

    – Firstly and foremost because I was tired of the constant hair blockages in the head of the Dyson vacuums. In my house live two persons with long hair and this has been a constant issue with the Dyson vacuums. Whilst they have been on guarantee, I received replacements but I had enough.
    – Secondly, I felt attracted about not needing to plug the vacuum in different sockets as I moved around the house.

I am very happy with this vacuum cleaner for various reasons which might be obvious for the regular users of these kind of vacuum but that, as I said before, I am finding beneficial being a first time user.
Its sucking power is quite good (and surprisingly good for a battery operated vacuum vs a corded one) and it is acceptable for my needs. When used on full power + boost on carpets you can see that it leaves the carpet really clean and this can also be seen on the waste deposit which fills in with dust. Likewise it cleans well non-carpeted floors.

In my experience and after having been using the vacuum for about 2 months, the Anti Hair Wrap system works really well and it serves for its purpose. It cleans hair and dust very well and its head has not blocked even once. Another function that has positively surprised me is the bending function of the long stick, which allows you to reach under the table, sofa and low furniture. I thought it was a nice to have but “pffff nothing special”. Actually it works really well and it really keeps these areas clean without the need to move them!

The vacuum charges in about 2 hours and it gives you enough vacuum time to do a medium size home (3 bedrooms, living room, hall and stairs) so long you don’t abuse of the boost power option. To charge it, I take it off all the accessories and leave it discreetly next to a plug socket after each use to make sure it is fully charged for the next use. Likewise the capacity of the waste container is good enough and there is no need to empty it half way through when vacuuming a full house.

I have to say that not everything is nice and hence why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars to this vacuum. I find the vacuum body (the top section which is the vacuum itself) very heavy. This is not incredibly noticeable whilst cleaning with the long stick and floor head on (although you can feel it after a while). But when you can really notice it is when you use any of the other two utensils that come with it (the piece to clean carpets, sofas, upholstery, etc. and the extended reach wand to reach the corners of the ceiling to remove spider webs, etc). I think that its manoeuvrability is difficult due to its weight; let’s put it this way: I don’t think my mother would be able to handle it.

Also, the instructions recommend that when it is stored you can fold it in two to make it less bulky. This is indeed a good idea and it works well, but the reality is that folding it is a nuisance when you could simply put it inside a cabinet extended. The problem with this is gravity! The head of the vacuum on top of it is heavy as I explained before and therefore makes it very unstable if it is not being held. If you opt for the practicability option of simply store it in a cabinet after use without folding it, chances are that the vacuum will fall.

In summary, this vacuum serves its purpose and seems good in what it does. However, it is heavier than what I expected and for its price, I would have expected a lighter device.

Golden Review Award: 243 From Our UsersThis vacuum does pick up most of the cat hairs and they are not wrapped round the roller like other vacuums, well maybe just a bit but I do have a long haired cat. However, I didn`t give it five stars for two reasons. Firstly it leaves a line of hair when you stop, see photos. I then have to go over these lines with a handheld which isn`t cut out for it. And secondly the trigger has to be held on by finger for full power, as I want full power all the time I have had to tie wrap it on, see photo. Oh and it is heavy but I don`t mind this too much as it`s a bit of a `work out` but as I get older ( I am almost a pensioner ) then I will struggle with it`s weight especially on the stairs. I am glad i bought it though, my old vacuum was useless at the cat hairs and I spent more time trying to get them off the roller afterwards than actually vacuuming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says but...

Golden Review Award: 93 From Our UsersThis really does do the job andf is far superior to my original hoover, of a similar type – a Vax, which just clogs up with hairs in the roller which cannot be removed without dismantling the whole of the hoover head. Anyway, the Shark is great – no hair collection on the roller, strong suction, fast recharging, and lightweight along with lights on the hoover head.

A pricey piece of equipment but would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 978 From Our UsersPretty pleased with this vacuum, it cleans well and is lightweight. Battery life is ok and the accessories are useful.
However if you are looking to buy this model because of the ‘anti hair wrap technology’ it simply doesn’t work. Don’t know how they can get away with the advertising.

Anti Hair wrap technology is nonsense

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersVery happy with my Shark vacuum cleaner. Arrived early. It is very light and it’s lovely not having to think about the cord getting wrapped around furniture. It’s great not having to change the brush while vacuuming between the carpet and wooden flooring. It’s easy to use and the top part can be detached and used as a hand held vacuum which allows easy access to ledges, smaller spaces and stairs.

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersLove this hoover, mainly for the lack of cord. Also conveniently folds away for storage. Bin is easily detached and filters removed to wash. Anti wrap technology doesn’t work, hair still wraps around albeit less than with my previous hoover. Removable battery.

Golden Review Award: 72 From Our UsersThis an excellent Hoover, as we’ve had our old one for a few years now, although it’s still working well, it gets frustrating having to switch between modes of cleaning, when you have a mix of wooden flooring and carpet throughout the house.

This does the job perfectly. It will easily clean the wooden and vinyl flooring that we have between two rooms and you don’t need to change any heads etc. It also glides easily across the floor and also the carpet. I would recommend that if you’ve got a particularly dirty carpet, to use the “power boost” mode, as the regular mode just doesn’t quite get the job done and left some crumbs on the carpet. This was a bit of a letdown until we discovered the power boost, and although more nosier, it’s cleaner.

It’s still quite a bulky hoover to use on stairs and to carry up and down also. I found that if you turn it to the side, you can get each stair done easily (there is an attachment for this, but for us, we found it easier to just turn it, and will try the kther attachment later.) There is a pet hair attachment (I have no pets, so I can’t comment on how easily that works) and also the nozzle attachment works well for cleaning those awkward hard to reach places.

I have quite long hair, and shed a lot all over the house. So the anti hair wrap is a bonus, but I wouldn’t say it quite works. Sure, it doesn’t wrap around one of the rollers underneath – but it does wrap around the other. This is ok, if you’re hoovering regularly, but when this was used the first time, it clearly showed how much hair the previous hoover wasn’t bothering to pick up.

This does fit under most furniture, although not under our couch, but glided under the bed before we realised what it was doing, to collect all the dust bunnies.

The battery lasts a good amount of time and charges in good time, allow you to take a break from the household chores. The instruction manual does say to let the battery fully run down, before charging, which we did on the second use, as it only lasted a little while, before conking out.

My only quibbles would be the hair wrap feature and the fact of how bulky and inconvenient it is to empty after a hard morning’s cleaning. When you see adverts for the Shark’s competitors “empties with a slide”, you do wish this was as simple. But at least it makes a change from the bags I remember of our hoovers when I was young.

Definitely worth getting, as it’s fairly self explanatory straight out of the box, and folds down nicely, to sit in a corner, until you’re next ready to use it. And it also comes with a handy bag, to store all the attachments/accessories.

    Necessary for household chores

Golden Review Award: 743 From Our UsersBought to replace a dyson v6 that died (and like many people I don’t want to support Dyson again) I read a lot of reviews before purchasing – most were gushing with praise and few were objective. So here’s my take after a few days:

    Pros:
Superbly good at cleaning floors – far better than the dyson ever was
Battery lasts longer than the dyson
The bendy pipe works well and it packs up surprisingly small
The max power trigger is great – means you have power when you need it without leaving it on and draining the battery
Bin is actually easy to empty (unlike the dyson)
Almost as cool looking as the dyson – better in real life than in the pictures
Anti-hair wrap has worked so far – I must have spent hours cutting long hair off the previous vacuum
it’s nice and quiet. Probably less than half the noise of the V6

    Cons:
The head doesn’t seem to clean as close to the edge as the dyson did and being much larger is a little more tricky for stairs. Of course you can swap to the small nozzle to do the edges
There’s no charging dock or wall bracket. This meant we have to find a space on the floor to stand it and physically plug the charge cable in instead of just hanging it up.
It’s heavy. The stick part is noticeably more heavier than the dyson but the head is really weighty. Fine for me but some of us get arm ache after using it for a little while.

The fact it’s so heavy actually made us consider sending it back but in the end the pros far outweighed the cons. I can’t imagine finding a lighter one that works so well. If you consider that it’s a cordless stick vacuum that has all the capabilities of a really decent upright then you will easily forgive a little extra weight.
