Nice design easy to use and have a clean air. I don’t like the blue light and the noise it disturb when I sleep so I only use day time and a bit before I went to bed.

It’s good for air purifier, nice colour nice design.

I did expect some smart features, but forget about it. Fortunately it does humidify our bedroom in couple hours. Previous device from fancy manufacturer with all the bells and whistles couldn’t do that in less than 24hrs!!!!!!!!! Such a life and mainly sleep improvement ! Highly recommended

Good quality product. Very effective, long lasting filters. No dry throat or nose in the morning, though I havn’t activated the humidifier mode. Do need to refill the water tank. Very easy to do that. Low speed mode is still very effective. Fast speed could be like a electric fan. A bit noisy and drafty. Make you feel cold

This is my second purchase (UK) Sharpe UA-HD40U-L Air Purifier with Humidification for Small Rooms – Air Flow 216 m3/h. The first purchase was for the larger unit Everything works well and this unit is used 24/7 in the winter and the with the second unit I use the timer function. Very quite on the low setting and will not bother anyones sleep period. Indicator lights can be dimmed or switched off.

Its very easy to set up and here are some tips for using the unit.

    1. If using 24/7 then i find it beneficial to change the trough which holds the humidifying filter every morning. The water becomes naturally contaminated with filtering out the air flowing through and so I empty the trough every day. In continuous use the larger HD50-UL unit consumes 2 x water dispensing holders per day providing a humidity of 50-55% in the large room on the low setting. 1 x water container in a small room with the HD40 unit when used for 12 hours per day maintaining a humidity of up to 60% based on the low setting.
    2. Expect to utilise 2 x humidifying filters (per unit) over the winter period in the UK. Over time the humidifying filter becomes hard and presents an odour when it requires changing. Changing the humidifying filter takes just two minutes no screws involved just press out the old filter and drop in the new one. If the water runs out the unit will “beep” and a red light can be seen.

    3. The carbon and hepa-filters will last for years so no issues they just need a quick brush with a soft hand brush as does the out plastic filter cover
The castors make for easy movement on a tiled/hard floor but not a carpeted floor.
The unit removes cooking smells very well but you need to set a higher flow rate for say 30 mins during/after cooking.
    4. In the summer i don’t require the humidifier because the UK summer has a high natural humidity, so only use the plasma cluster air purification aspect during summer including the pollen removal cycle. Its quite good at removing pollen just remember not to leave the outside patio doors or windows open since this defeats the object of keeping the room free of pollen. Also keep the internal house doors/windows closed when using the unit since the Sharp unit (or any manufacturer alternative) cannot be expected to clean the whole “open” house air.

    5. If you have underfloor heating the room atmosphere tends to dry out as in my case down to 24-30% humidity the Sharp units prevents this from happening.

It takes 5 mins per day in time to service the unit.

I would recommend these Sharp units to anyone requiring increased humidification and or cleaner air.

I’ve researched brands, and Sharp is the best, especially its ion capabilities that help deter Covid-19 particles. We use Sharp in all our homes, and they never fail us. This is worth it. Make sure to check the size vs the room you intend to use the unit in. This does its effectiveness.

Very nice, feature rich and effective but quite big for small to medium room. Used it for 2 weeks and loved it but had to return because it was too big for our place.

Top notch product. Works fantastic during hot season too, as the humidifier function tend to cool down the room it is in.

Great Air Purifier. Sits in the corner of my bedroom and very quietly goes about doing its work. I have it on sleep mode mostly but kick it up a notch when necessary. It’s not hugely intrusive and looks absolutely fine where it is. Very happy with it….

Helped our 3 month old baby a lot!

    Pros:
When we are cooking it highlights the air quality and works on reducing the odour
    Different fan speed
Humidifier tank quantity is good and
Humidifier goes on for longer time
Ionisation feature helped our little one by keeping the air clean
    cools the room a bit

    Con:
Price, its a valuable product but cannot comment if it is value for money considering there are others that are cheaper
Coverage is a bit smaller than highlighted

Good one and helped our 3 month old baby

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use air humidifier to help with my hayfever symptoms.

I can actually feel a difference with this air purifier, it has a pollen setting which bumps up the baseline fan speed, so you know the air is circulated and any allergens are getting removed.

The rear vent also helps moving air and creates a circulation which helps clean air.

Humidifier function seems to work pretty well, while the humidity level is preset and cannot be adjusted, the machine automatically starts humidifying air when RH goes below 60, and stops when it goes above 60.

With that being said, I prefer slightly dryer air so I don’t use that feature too often.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBrilliant air purifier , since I’m using him during the night I’m sleeping very hard without waking up at the night. My nose on morning is clear , noise level on 1st level is nearly heard. Also air humidity let you breathe very comfortable. And lot of money in the packet thanks to 10 years life time filters. I can’t say nothing else like highly recommended this product for people who wants to change life comfort.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood unit. Nice build quality. Excellent packaging. Very responsive to environmental conditions. The unit seems to be particularly sensitive to my glasses of wine (alcohol), the gas boiler heating water (some gaseous by-product), flapping of bed sheets (dust), and farts (eugh).

    Love i

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI have experienced the beauty of this brand and their very similar model in Japan for 2 weeks, sharing a room with 15 or more people. The air was always fresh, no odours and I have wanted to buy one myself. The design is very functional, the unit is very sleek and compact, lightweight and very quiet on auto mode. Sharp states in their manual that the filters should last 10 years under normal household use provided care instructions are followed. I did look at the Philips model as well which sadly seemed to be bulky but more worryingly, required filter purchases which were pricey according to the reviews. So I chose SHARP and bought the 3 year Amazon warranty with it for peace of mind. I hope my unit lasts. So far, I am happy with it and the air does “feel” crisp and cleaner. There are cheaper air purifiers on the market but I trust the brand SHARP and I have experienced the device for 2 weeks as per my opening remarks so hence my purchase.

    Clean air for closed rooms

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI won’t pretend for one moment to fully understand all the technical specifications and features included in this Sharp UA-HD50U-L Air Purifier. I mean “PLASMACLUSTER ION GENERATOR” sounds cool but it sounds to me like something you would hear on Star Trek – “Captain, we’ve lost power to the PIG engine.”

What drew my attention to this item was the fact that it claimed to be able to purify the air and being someone who suffers from indoor allergies – I jumped at the chance to reduce my antihistamine use. So while I’ll let you read through the wealth of information and features on this page (very well detailed from Amazon), I will focus on my experience and how well it worked.

Thankfully despite being feature packed it is easy to use and to understand the various options and settings. There are a lot of buttons on top of the machine, but the instructions keep things simple and clear – it won’t take long to get to grips with. As you would expect for a three-figure price tag, the build quality is high while keeping the weight (empty) pretty light. It came well packaged (a box with packing in another box) to ensure safe arrival (I think most customers have had bad experiences with couriers at one point or another).

During use there is some noise (which is totally expected) – it is a bit louder than my older dehumidifier which was surprising – but its a better “pitch” and softer sound so it’s actually easier to ignore and get used to. I opted to leave the machine on “intelligent” mode for most of the time. This means the machine automatically monitors the humidity and temperature of adjusts itself as required. It works well to circulate the air in your room with the HEPA filter removing dust and impurities as it does so.

In a “large” room I think it would struggle to do so effectively but there is a larger size should you have colossal sizes rooms. I took advantage of the dehumidifier function by placing it in a double cupboard with some damp and it performed well.

While I said that I wouldn’t focus too much on features (as this page does a far better job than I could), I will just mention that I was pleased with the auto shut-off and indicators that displayed both Air quality and the status of the filter. The fact that it switches on and off as required makes day to day use easier and it was pretty cool to be able to monitor the air quality.

    So how did it perform?

I am glad to report that while not fully understanding “how” it made a definite and noticeable difference to air quality. It removes odours in the air such as dampness but more surprising was its ability to remove cooking smells (I use a lot of garlic and cumin) which keeps my neighbours happy. I’ve used this in all my rooms (excluding my bathroom as it is tiny and taking into account electrical safety) and it does make the indoor air feel, smell and taste cleaner.

While some people might ask “why not just open a window?” my answer is you can still do that, but this Air Purifier goes further than that – it cleans the air, removing dust and impurities while helping to circulate the around the room. Not only did it help my allergies but it helped me sleep better (maybe its my imagination or maybe it was down to the cleaner air and automatic monitoring of my environment). Overall if you are looking for an Air Purifier unit then this one looks good and works well. It is definitely worth considering.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe best thing about this air purifier is there’s a noticeable difference in the air you’re breathing in. It’s a difficult experience to describe but air in the room just feels cleaner and lighter to breathe in and out.

As someone who lives in the city, it’s very satisfying to get away polluted city and have clean air right inside your own home!

Overall, I’d recommend this quality product, you can tell it’s well engineered and well made.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWell the answer is extremely well, it runs very quietly unless it wants to remove dust or unwanted odours but even running at high speed it is not noisy and soon removes pollutants and returns to normal running
The internal detection system Is quite remarkable if you open a tin of paint in the room within seconds it detects the odour and then removes it. Sharp products have been around for a very long time and are well made and very reliable.
