The mic is exactly what I expected having used one several times in the past. Its an excellent all round mic and the ability to control the proximity effect so easily by moving only an inch further away is nice. As everyone will tell you, you need about 60dB of clean gain. So get a decent preamp, I’m using mine with a presonus 68c. But the GOXLR is apparently – 130 midas pre amps so a good option if you’re a streamer. Not much else to say, it is a very well known mic. If you’re here reading this then you’ve already made up your mind. So just get one. Just remember this isn’t a condenser mic, don’t try and use it like one, because it isn’t.
I bought this as an upgrade for home vocal recording and I’m not disappointed. I have owned many mics and this is by far the best for noise reduction and clarity. I use it with a Scarlet Solo and Logic Pro X and it makes post production simple as there’s no hiss to get rid of. I’ve been using an SM58 which did a great job but this just has the edge. It’s pretty robust too so I’m hoping it will last for a fair few years before it needs replacing. As others have said, it is fairly quiet and the gain on the interface is almost up full to get a decent signal but this works fine for now for what I need it for. I might buy a Cloudlifter in future to boost the signal but for simple vocals/VoiceOver purposes it isn’t really needed with the equipment I’ve got.
You know why you’re here yet you’re reading reviews instead of buying it so here’s it all in short.
The mic is a beast and amazing as is but why would you stop there?
Get a good preamp as this does require a bit more power. Also PLEASE make sure you have a good XLR cable hooked up to this. If you’re considering buying this mic then understand you will need to give it high grade fuel for it to really open up for you. This is a great mic and I see why this is all over the streaming industry and podcast culture. Spend the money and then spend more on a preamp and XLR cable and thank yourself for not cutting corners later 🙂
Good mic for studio and live. not unlike the SM57 in sound quality if using a cloudlifter in conjunction with SOME audio interfaces.
Very versatile mic….and my spelling is horrendous.!
Hello! I havent bought this product, but as an expert, DO NOT BUY A CLOUDLIFTER!!!! Just buy a GoXLR or GoXLR mini, it can power the mic easily, and the app has built in EQ and all!
GoXLR mini: https://www.amazon.co.uk/GoXLR-Mini-Interface-Streamers-Podcasters/dp/B07XH41DLN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=goxlr+mini&qid=1621638700&sr=8-1
Have fun! and happy shopping! 😀
Great sound, you know you’re getting a good quality mic with Shure. This has really good lows if you want the warmth for ASMR, or if you do death metal vocals or have to record a cab !
Quick tip – you’ll want one of the dynamite preamps or cloudlifters to boost the signal since phantom power doesn’t boost it and you’ll have to crank the gain (which causes hiss). So save yourself the wait like I have and get one of the preamp thingies. <3
Loving the mic. Amazing vocals out of it and dead clea
I’m mainly using the SM7 to mike acoustic instruments for recording. Downside is that you need lots of extra gain before this mike will do anything – I ended up having to get a higher-gain preamp AND a Fethead, which on top of the cost of the mike itself makes this a pricey deal. So far I’ve recorded mandolin, violin and acoustic guitars. The SM7 captures the whole range of tone, with no smothering bass or piercing treble – no more struggling to EQ poor-quality captures. 12-string guitar sounds silky, with good note separation, as opposed to the clutter I get from other mikes. I haven’t tried any wind instruments yet. Off-mike noise, even fairly loud stuff like a door being opened in mid-recording, is almost unnoticeable. I’m not technical as far as microphone recording goes, so I can’t give any metrics, but so far everything I’ve recorded has sounded fantastic (OK, “fantastic” within the limitations of my playing). Is the SM7 worth all the undeniably high outlay? For me, definitely.
it’s famous for a reason. absolutely love it for podcasting, but also great for vocal performance.
For anyone skeptical or on the fence about it, just get it. If you have the budget, it’s a no brainier. Listed below will be the pros and cons but overall this is the best microphone I’ve used.
Pros-
1) Amazing background rejection. After figuring out the proper levels and proximity I’ve been able to record with noisy pc fans in the background without it interfering the recording.
2) Very realistic recording of vocals.
3) Basic equalizer settings built into the back. Having the bass and midrange settings directly on the back is the best feature I didn’t know I needed. Perfect for basic tuning without the need for extra software.
Cons-
1) Only real con is the power required to run the microphone. Please do research on the mixer before buying. I have the Motu M2 and couldn’t be happier.
Fun fact this is the exact mic Micheal Jackson used when recording thrille
heard a lot of good things so bought it on a whim would reccomend havign a goo preamp before connecting to your interface as this mic has a very low outpu
Ottimo suono, costruzione eccellente, design inconfondibile.
Brilliant sounding mic, use it with my GoXlr soundboard. Does not come with XLR cable though!!
Expensive but the quality shows. YOU NEED TO BUY AN AMPLIFIER if you aren’t running it through one already to get enough clean gain for it to be usable.
One of the best mics I’ve bought at a great price
Everything is good and it’s f***ing SM7B, you really don’t need much to think. I bought it for my zoom calls with all the necessary gears like Cloudlifter and all. Working out pretty well planning to buy two more for other systems.
There will be a few challenges when you’ll use it for the first time but it all worths later. Highly recommended for everyone who’s making money online.
Amazing product, must get for people who want to stream.
I have used this microphone paired with a GOXLR for twitch streaming for about a month now. Its super high quality and works very well. Many reviews said its a bit overpriced but I feel the price is worth it. You can talk loudly, quietly, it sounds great!
I’ve had a Rode Podcaster, Yeti Pro and this one has been the best for quality of sound and also how it goes on my boom. I love it.
Short Version: The SM7B is a great microphone for many applications when paired with a quality audio interface. I had mine paired with a Rodecaster Pro. (no Cloudlifter or Fethead needed)
Long Version: I purchased this mic several months ago and tried using it with a Tascam DR40 and a Fethead. While the volume of the mic was more than adequate, I quickly discovered that the overall audio quality sounded muddy or muffled and I ended up sticking with my original and much cheaper mic.
I decided to return it and partially blamed my disappointment on the SM7B being over hyped, when in reality I should have admitted to myself that I was using an inferior preamp. So a few days ago I ended up getting a Rodecaster Pro interface in order to begin upgrading my audio chain and while I was at it, I decided to once again give the SM7B a fair shot. I’m glad I did.
After receiving it, I plugged it in and recorded some sample audio and compared it against previous recordings and the difference is extremely noticeable. The mic sounds crisp, yet even and the lows and highs have a slight roll off that is very pleasing to the ears. I was worried that I might still need an inline booster, but my Rodecaster produces enough clean gain to allow the SM7B to shine.
If you’ve previously tried this mic with cheap equipment, I recommend giving it another chance. I think you’ll be surprised.
My Setup: SM7B to LyxPro XLR Cable to Rode Rodecaster Pro.
UPDATE: I ended up returning the SM7B due to a couple of issues. Yes, this mic sounds good, but for my application a condensor mic fit the bill as I am in a well treated room and don’t enjoy always being right up on the mic, which you need to be with the SM7B.
Like I said, this is a a great mic, but figuring out what works best for your situation is key. So many people blindly recommend this mic for all applications, but there are a lot of amazing mics out there that will do just as good of a job.
Audio quality is perfect, especially up close with the large windshield on, pairing this with the UR22 + FetHead.
Sold my Neumann 103 due to my room not being treated enough to get the full value of it. This is a dynamic microphone, so it will NOT pick up any unnecessary sound and that’s what I need! I fell in love with this microphone 10 years ago, and now I finally own it for myself and I’m so glad I bought this! I use this with a Scarlett 4i4 gen 3 and I don’t need a cloudlifter or anything extra to boost the gain. Just buy this mic and don’t ask any questions. It’s too cheap to be so good!
Extra info: I have a loud & bass heavy voice and make hip-hop/rap music and I think this mic is perfect for my voice. I wouldn’t recommend this mic without a gain booster of some sort if you have a soft voice or are a singer because I don’t think you’ll get the most out of the mic. Also perfect if you are a broadcaster, voice over artist or do any type of podcasting.
Everyone on my stream said the mic sounded clear or very professional
From what I read, the only negative reviews are from people who have zero or very little knowledge of how a microphone works. It’s actually embarrassing to see their “review” and to have so many “helpful” likes on them. The mic is incredible. I use it for recording YouTube videos. In order from my mouth to the computer I have the SM7B on the PSA1 boom arm connected to an XLR cable connected to the Fethead connected to the Focusrite 2i2 which connects to my laptop. Some people claim the Fethead should be connected to the mic side but it makes no difference at all. When called out about this, they say it’s not the Fethead’s fault but cheap XLR cables. So I plugged in some Amazon Basics XLR cables and it works fantastic with the Fethead on the Focusrite side. People like to just spew non-sense for the fun of it. One piece I didn’t mention is the Shure A26X 3″ Extension Tube. I have this hooked up between the mic and the psa1 boom arm. This piece is optional but if you search for that piece on YouTube, you will see why you may like to have it. I paid around $20 Canadian for it. The mic sounds absolutely fantastic for professionally made YouTube videos and cuts out a lot of the background noise. I also had the SM57. The background noise is about the same but the quality of the SM7B is better. It also gives you options to help make it compliment your voice unlike the SM57 or SM56. Those are both fantastic mics, but you can’t beat the SM7B and it looks so much cooler than having that massive ugly grey windscreen on it that you have to buy for the SM57. Just take the cash hit and invest in this setup. It’s brilliant.
If this mic is extremely use in the music world it’s not for nothing
You can record what you want
Bass, brass , guitar , voice it’s so perfect
You need a good preamp or a extremely good audio interface because it need a lot of gain or the cheap way
Get a mic activator like se dynamite , cloud lifter ,mc boos
The mic is one of the best but it does require a mixer to use so ill would reccomend the GOXLR Mini for streaming
This is a great product which will make especially male deep voices sound great however for what you need to buy with the mic such as a triton fethead or a focusrite scarlet solo along with a strong and sturdy mic arm to support the weight this definitely isn’t a mic to get if you’re first starting especially if you aren’t very good at vocal edits and how to set something like this up.
I bought one of these to narrate recordings as a university lecturer. It was an upgrade to the very good Rode PodMic. Goodness me what a superb upgrade. My listeners have commented how great it makes me sound. Admittedly it feeds into a Rodecaster Pro mixer which also had some excellent processing tricks. I did need an in-line preamp to reduce the noise floor to professional levels. Mine is the Triton Fethead. This is an additional recommendation.
The build quality is exceptional and I expect it will last many years. Personally I don’t use the clever frequency range boosters and filters that are in built on the SM 7B.
This is a superb mic justifying its reputation amongst the top 2 or 3 professional voice/radio mics. I love it and recommend it for professional work. I now use the PodMic as a guest mic or for field work.
I’ve always wanted a Shure SM7B for streaming it was always just such an expensive outlay though when combined with a mixer etc. I finally got a stage where I was able to buy one of these for stream along with a GO-XLR and I can honestly say it is a HUGE difference. The sound is amazing and combined with the GO-XLR mixer it truly brings my stream from audio perspective up a notch. Really, really happy with my purchase.
One thing I will add, when you buy this and go to attach it to your boom arm, check the shield in the box for the the 3/8 to 5/8 thread adapter. It’s hidden inside the actual shield covering itself, I went full derp and ended up buying one as the mic wouldn’t attach to my boom arm. Hopefully my comment here will save you the same stupidity =)

Perfect for most recording situations, especially if your room is not totally silent. A dynamic mic like this, is not as sensitive as the large diaphragm condenser mics for example, but helps record cleanly despite a bit of background noise. Great clarity and tone. Very happy.
Great mic for vocal and instrument use. Thanks for fast delivery.
Love the sound it give great mic all around especially for streamers
For anyone looking to get in to podcasting, broadcasting, etc… You can’t go wrong. Keep in mind that you will need a decent preamp. This mic has been a staple for a long time and for good reason. I have a more expensive mic that I use, but I will come back to this one frequently. If you have the money and the preamp to get the gain, I recommend without hesitation.
–update–
Been about 3-4 years since I bought. It’s still just a really good mic. Everyone knows it. No real reason for this update other than to let people know it’s still amazing for broadcasting, but you of course need the gain. Lot of interfaces now can give the sm7b the gain it needs. To have to be wary of some interfaces having just enough gain, but getting noisy when pushed all the way up. Just keep that in mind. Just a really great mic for not-so-great treated rooms. A+ mic
This is a great mic for vocal applications. I am using it mostly for spoken word to get the “broadcast” voicing that I was looking for. That being said, to get this sound requires much much more than just the microphone. You will most likely need a preamp (I use a fethead ~$90) as this mic requires 60db of gain. You will need a vocal EQ of some type (I use a GoXLR ~$500), either digital or hardware in the signal chain. So in addition to the $400 mic, expect to spend $100 – $150 minimum on a preamp and $150 – $800+ on an EQ, depending on the feature set you need, to get the most out of it. That means at minimum to get this mic up and running you will spend ~$700 before tax (I spent a total of ~$1000).
When recording vocals or instruments on music tracks my signal chain changes and I use the fethead with a separate multichannel rack preamp that allows further coloring of the signal before it feeds into my DAW. This setup costs even more as there is more equipment in the signal chain.
If you understand all of this going into the purchase then you will not be disappointed in the results you get from it but PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE MIC IS JUST ONE PART OF THE SIGNAL CHAIN YOU WILL NEED depending of your intentions. This should not be the first piece of equipment for your studio, it should not be your first mic, is should not be seen as a standalone solution to all of you audio problems or a magic wand for your voice.
TLDR:
You are buying a professional studio microphone not a “plug and play” solution, so don’t expect it to be one.
That being said, this is a great mic and well worth the investment if you know what you are getting into and plan on it being just one component in your signal chain or an addition to a studio where you already have the equipment required to run it properly.
It’s definitely not the cheapest mic on the market but the sound quality is incredibly crisp. The aesthetic of this mic are 10/10 as well.
Do not settle for anything else, this microphone is amazing.
Best Mic and worth the price!!!! Not buying cheap $150 microphones anymore! No need to after purchasing this beauty!
I don’t know how to describe my experience aptly that can do justice. This is the best mic I have ever bought. The quality is amazing and very versatile in its use.
The build quality is amazing and I am expecting it to last me a very long time.
Why does such an expensive mic require a mic booster just so the signal is audible? I have to crank the input on my audio interface all the way up to even hear what I’m recording, and then I could hear all sorts of humming and background interference. I never had that problem with my old mics (which were all cheaper than this one). I had to spend another $130 on a Triton Fethead. Make sure you include the price of a mic booster before you purchase this mic; I saw the reviews, but I didn’t know how quiet the mic would actually be. Sounds great, looks great, and preforms great tho.
It’s an absolute pleasure to have this mic onboard. Came with all the mentioned accessories , although i did noticed the seal was open but that can be ingnored since it worked like a charm straight out of the box.
The build is rugged and feels heavyduty. Almost every component is metal. The sound is pretty much flat. There was a subtle amount of low end. It sounded great on my voice. Acoustic guitar sounded good although i think processing is required . And most importantly the noise rejection, works wonder. The ambient noise bleed was minimum.
Note that i’m using this with Audient id14 and there wasnt much of a white noise at max gain. The signal was clean enough. But i had to keep the mic pretty close to the sound source. Not a big issue though.
This microphone “Shure” ly lives upto it’s name – “Legendary”.
This mic allows me to NEVER post process any vocals
Anything that saves time when going live or working in post production is a very good thing.
You’ve probably already heard about how great it sounds, and it does but few people talk about what that actually translates to beyond the great quality, which is what I said above.
This microphone will save you time, and time is money so it saves you money!
Pros
-Solid Build Quality
-Fantastic Sound
-Built in Shock Mount
-Easy to physically adjust
-Comes with 2 foam windscreens (one for general use [you see in most pics], and a thicker one to get right up against it)
-Comes with smaller thread adapter
Cons
-Likely will need a cloudlifter (depending on your interface)
*I’m using this with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo on a Rode PSA1 Boom
Right off the bat, I’m not a audio professional, so I can’t technically tell you why this mic is great. But for my uses, it is absolutely FANTASTIC! I got this to replace my AT2020 because I learned that Dynamic mics are better for picking up vocals only in front of the mic itself, and that’s exactly what this does. I use this for streaming, gaming, and generally talking to friends on discord, and it’s extremely nice not needing to use any software processing to isolate my voice and get a clean sound. The reason why I didn’t put the price as a con is because it’s much easier (and possibly cheaper) than treating my room with sound dampening foam and such. It really does a great job at isolating my voice, and running through the Focusrite, my gain can be high with almost no static from the gain being near max. This is where the cloudlifter will come in. From my understanding, it’s recommended that your interface be capable of outputting ~75dB to power this mic, however the cloudlifter can boost your interface by ~25dB without introducing static. Basically the cloudlifter lets you phantom power your dynamic mic (dynamic mics don’t directly take phantom power). Since you will probably need a cloudlifter, you’ll also need another xlr cable because.
Aside from likely needing a cloudlifter, there’s not really anything negative I could come up with. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do with great quality. If you’re eyeing this, you probably already know that they used the SM7B to record Michael Jackson’s Thriller back in the day, so it rightfully has Legendary status. If you’re new into higher quality audio, I recommend the Focusrite Scarlett Solo which is right around $100. I wouldn’t recommend going less than that because you start risking less clean audio. It’s also a must to get a cloudlifter so you’re not maxing out your gain. The volume and quality will be much better.
All in all, this was a solid purchase. Audio is very subjective, so definitely listen to some sound tests on YouTube before you make your decision. While this mic is perfect for my needs, it might not be for yours. When investing in equipment like this, generally, the price reflects the quality, and you need multiple components to get it working properly. These are all things to consider before making a purchase. If you’re looking for a really good Dynamic mic, you can’t go wrong with this.
Smooth sounding and solid construction.
Suits my voice perfectly for vocals and voiceover stuff.
5/5
Been using this to record voiceovers for my new PC game. Tried it first directly into my Behringer UMC1820 but the levels were quite low so I had to turn up the preamp almost all the way, adding a ton of noise. Added a Cloudlifter to boost the signal and everything improved dramatically, especially the noise floor. I barely have to do any noise cancellation in my recordings unless I have a very quiet performer. The thing I really like about this mic is how directional the pattern is. I’m recording in a concrete basement with absolutely ZERO noise-proofing and I get perfect audio with very little coloring from the room (reflections or otherwise). I guess this is why it’s so widely used in VO applications. I can get right to work without having to build a booth or treat my room AT ALL. For the money, it’s probably the best solution out there right now. Just be aware, you will need to use a signal booster such as a Cloudlifter or Fet Head to get the best out of this mic, and even then you will need excellent preamps.
I knew what I was purchasing when I ordered this mic. I needed a mic that was flat, shielded for use around computer and sound monitors, and finally built to last a life time. Intentioned use was for voice over and podcast production.
This mic was the answer to all of the above.
If you are working in a room that has very little to no sound treatment, this mic will most likely out perform other options. It’s pick up pattern helps (cardioid). It is a very smooth, polished sound.
Now, you will need a preamp to get this type of result. It will need at least 60 dB if gain according to Shure. Personally, I used a dbx 286 wide wide open and add another 15 from my interface. The channel strip that is part of this unit saves editing time in addition to the pre amp. This allows me to sit off the mic by about 6-8 inches and speak normally. This mic takes EQ very naturally.
This is a nice addition to my mic locker.
Excelso! Suena increble.
In the past 6 months, I have progressed from the Blue Yeti, to the AT2020 xlr, to this Shure SM7B and Wow, wow, wow, it is amazing!
Love it. Great sound quality and functions exactly as sure designed it.
I’ve been treating it like a delicate electronic, so I haven’t tested durability.
Might throw it on the ground later today. Will probably still work…
(I wont and you shouldn’t either)
For the amount of times I’ve set it up and put it away, it shows no signs of wear and tear. So durability is good.
This is the best microphone . Have it on a mic stand for my computer . It’s connected to a cloud lifter for clean gain. And all that is plugged into a focusrite amp. Sounds absolutely amazing . Michael Jackson used this mic to record the thriller album .
100% recomendable.
I’m a musician/singer/songwriter and produce/engineer my own music with 3 album releases, yet being independent I have no claim to commercial funding so every piece of equipment I buy is a precious investment. I bought my SM7B after much research and have done numerous audio tests in my studio, with some preliminary recordings for a planned new album. (I put in this boring self-description so you can judge where I’m coming from in writing this review).
I believe many/most people buy this microphone without fully understanding what they are buying. The Shure name and the hype about Michael Jackson recording with it tends to cloud the judging process, so for many it’s a quick decision to buy. But a more detailed analysis reveals more characteristics and with better understanding you can put aside the hype and probably appreciate theSM7B for what it truly is : a fantastic Dynamic microphone with a SM58-like character that works for robust studio-recordings IF you have a high-quality high-gain preamp to use with it.
Being a dynamic microphone, it does not have it’s own preamp and is thus not as sensitive as a condenser mic. It’s therefore not very useful for recording delicate singing voices, it’s just not sensitive enough. But it will handle loud, screaming vocals easily, the capsule is robust enough to take in all that high energy. This is just the physics/science of microphones: dynamic mics handle loud sounds better, condensers handle delicate things better.
But the SM7B is not like the Shure SM58 dynamic mic, it’s capsule elements are thinner and much more sensitive, so it’s sensitivity does lean towards the condensers, but being a dynamic mic this sensitivity comes at the expense of it only being able to produce a weak signal, so it needs a preamp with plenty of clean gain before the signal can be used…..if you really think hard about it, it is thus trying to be like a condenser mic, but whereas a condenser mic has a built-in preamp, this SM7B needs an external preamp! In-between, that’s where it is.
But the story gets more interesting. The SM7B has “character”… the audio pattern mimics the legendary SM58’s presence-boosting curve, so the SM7B can give your recorded voice the classic Shure SM58 “live” character if you know how to use it right (though again you need to keep in mind that it’s never going to be as delicate as a condenser mic, still if you know what you’re doing you might find it a worthy trade-off to get great character with the loss of some delicate-ness. Post-recording engineering, a bit of compression and you’re back in the game.)
Misconception: There is a presence-boosting switch. Nope. What the switch does is take away the presence to give you a flat-response curve, i.e. in its natural state the presence is already boosted, the switch is misleading, the flat-response is the altered state.
Misconception: The pop-filters (windscreens) provided give you a natural sound. No they don’t. They filter off the high-frequencies, giving you a flatter sound. This is perfect for podcasting, and you can speak with your mouth close to the mic without having pops (use the thinner or thicker filter, depending on how robust your POP-ing is getting), but for singing you want to take off the windscreens, leave the metal grill exposed, and use a proper external POP filter.
For recording of a singer, the magic comes with a proper external POP filter, no need for a super-expensive one, but one with at least a double-grille and larger (6inch minimum) diameter. Shure sells such a POP filter, good enough for the task. Once you’re using a proper external pop filter, you can place it really close to the metal grille front, have your SM7B switches without bass-cut and with the presence-boost on (as I said it earlier this is actually a no-presence-cut position rather than a real boost)…and you can record your singing in all it’s glory, your voice gets recorded as if you were winging with a Shure SM58 on steroids, i.e the “character” of the mic is there. There is no need to switch off this presence, you can always do so in the mixing stage. You thus end up recording with a high degree of sensitivity yet having a very low noise floor (the advantage of a dynamic mic).
The is not much proximity effect with this mic, the metal grille extends far beyond the capsule element so your mouth cannot get really too close to the capsule. (Hats off to the Shure engineers for this bit of idiot-proofing). Imagine a super-sensitive SM58 with a Blues singer planting his lips of the grille and you’re recording his voice in a studio, and you’re in ‘POP hell…now you appreciate the engineering 🙂
Apologies for the lengthy review, but I do believe I’ve given an honest description of the important details. PODcast users may find this mic overkill but hey if you have the cash then flout it, though you could get the same audio with a cheap condenser with a big windshield and some EQ work. Recording vocalists with a more dynamic vocal range is where the SM7B will probably shine, and especially with louder vocalists, or for recording alongside other instruments being played simultaneously, where the bleed from other sounds is significantly reduced with such a cardiod-pattern dynamic mic.
I’m very happy with this mic, have done tons of audio tests with it. I’ll use it for my more rocking vocals, leaving the delicate ballads to a condenser mic. Hope this review helps you decide what’s best for you, make the best use of your hard-earned $. Cheers.
So impressed with this mic it is the best! On the market cant hear better with anything else!
Thank you! Worth your money you wont be let down!
It’s an amazing microphone that needs some extra adds to sound better, but it’s a great option among its category.
Love everything about this microphone from looks to performance.
Takes a fair amount of power to run but its worth every cent. Would 100% recommend.
The mic needs a good preamp or a cloudlifter, but with either of these it is a rich sounding mic.
The best microphone I’ve ever used. I love my Electrovoice RE-20 but this is a step above for me
My favourite mic to date, like it better then my yeti, snowball or atr 2100 though a bit of a pricey investment. I feel it was well worth it, pairs incredibly well with the rode psa1 boom arm.
Do keep in mind you may want to purchase a cloud lifter for this.
Lightyears better then my YETI. Such a great sound. Get a Cloudlifter, its a low signal.
One of the best mics on the market! I really enjoy it, perfect to record vocals.
In so far as microphones go, Shure is definitely a market leader and this mic is no exception. Best mic I own. I use it for recording on my computer. Can’t be beat for vocals.
It’s a Shure SM7B, of course it’s amazing.
Extra Amazing on deep voices and screaming/growling.
The best mic I’ve ever owned. However, if you’re going to purchase this mic, make sure you have a preamp to push it. I run this through a Tube preamp, to my mixer and it sounds lovely.
I LOVE this mic. I am by no means an audio expert, but I could never go back to the AT2020 that I traded in for the Shure sm7b. Twitch.tv/DocPasty if you’d like to hear it in action.
Best sounding Mic to high quality, amazing on loud and rich voices. Great value. Best around.
Excellent crisp sound quality
Doesn’t pick up background noise as easy
High Quality Microphone
One of the best mics you can get at the moment.
Excellent microphone for male rock vocals, and probably lots of other things as well. It has become my go to recording mic overnight.
Meets my expectations as I knew it would. Great Mic.
I love this mic, it’s so versatile and accurate. I won’t be changing from this for a while!
This mic was a gift for my son. He loves it.
This mic, this mic right here, you have no Idea this mic, it’s like an orgasm in a long black tube (which I supposed has been done before but not in this format). The low-end is just brilliant on this microphone, if you’re looking for a fantastic Vocal mic for a deep or gravelly voice then look no further. This is your new mic.
BEST MIC EVER…I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS INVESTMENT.
