These are very handy for in an office or around the house – you can fully control everything you need to and the app set-up was seamless for me.

Connectivity was fine once you push back the ‘no connectivity’ message – although I had to retry a couple of times, it only prolonged the set-up by a couple of minutes.

Overall, very handy to have – recommended.

These sockets are easy to set up and work very well.

Integration with Alexa is simple to set up too, and voice control offers an extra degree of flexibility.

Wifi reception seems very good – these worked in an outbuilding and in the garden.

These are well-suited to controlling lighting, and it’s easy to set up timers etc, and, of course they can be remotely activated via Alexa or the app.

Very happy with these – recommended.

These plugs arrived in perfect condition.
I am not the most tech-savvy person, and I’ve struggled to set things up in the past and have to rely on my son for help.
However, I managed to set these up easily. I used them on different lamps downstairs so that while we were on holiday, I could set turn then on and off to give the impression that there was somebody at home.
I’m really pleased with these (and myself, lol)

These plugs (and it is a very generous 4 pack) are perfectly functional, they look clean and modern and are not too chunky so as to become cumbersome. It was also relatively easy to connect to them as they’re wifi.

The only negative and it’s a bit of a big one, is that they don’t work with smart life. It’s described in the product page that it is Meeros so I can’t really complain about being misinformed but it’s just the fact that there is another app I need to work my smart tech. I have Smart Life, Google Home, Smart Things, one standalone for my RBG strip lights and now Meeros for some plugs. Bit of a pain.

Nonetheless everything the product says it is, it is and for a good price. Confirms it works with my Alexa.

From outside my front door, I can turn on the standard lamps in the living room, giving just enough light through the living room’s glass door when I enter. Great to be able to turn on the bedside lights before i enter the bedroom. And I can control from either my iPhone or Apple Watch with the app or voice control, though doing so is a little more “clumsy” on my watch. As I pass trough the living room on the way to bed, straight through one door to the other, I don’t have to take a detour to turn off the lights! Fab!

Great product easy to install and works flawlessly with apple home. One downside is the unit itself is bigger than others without apple home.

I’m fairly techy so setup was easy enough but might be a bit of a pain for those not into wifi setup and such like. Once setup they’re simple to use either with the Meross app or something like Google Home app. Whether at home or away, I can switch my outdoor lights on and off with ease and setup a timer if needed. I’m impressed how quick they switch on / off when using the app…almost instant, considering the button press goes through the app, the internet, the Chinese government and back to the UK… all in half a second. Impressive stuff.

Came across this when looking for alternatives to the Philips Hue, and I am pleasantly surprised. The Meross Smart Plug is very easy to install, just scan the QR code with Apple HomeKit app and it’s connected. Best thing is they work with Apple HomeKit, Alexa and Google so no need to worry about what device you have. I will definitely be buying more.

I love the Meross lineup of the HomeKit enabled devices. I own several Meross products and they are amazing. Considering the price of other Apple-certified brands, these are a very affordable and great option. I have 4 of these plugs and have them dotted around the house. I use them for lamps mainly, set on timers and different scenes from the Apple Home app. I have them come on at Sunset and turn off after a certain amount of time or default that all of them switch off at midnight. Very easy to set up via the Meross app and also the HomeKit process. My only negative thing to say is that they are quite large and if next to other sockets, may take up too much space. I hear Meross is working on a mini version so I would welcome a more slim-lined design. I would recommend these plugs, they are awesome (and not just for Christmas lights!).

    Easy to use!

Works fine with Alexa. Good value. The energy monitoring app isn’t super fantastic, but it is functional. It does tend to overcalculate the electricity used by up to 10%. Verified by checking with other electricity monitors. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the less electricity used the better. It’s useful, but not precise.

It worked fine for six months but now it won’t connect. Ive tried for weeks to make it work. At this price I expect better than a few months of functionality.

I bought these to control christmas lights thinking if they didn’t work it wouldn’t be a big deal. Turns out they work really well. They were super easy to set up, they work very well with Homekit (no offence Alexa but I don’t trust you for a second) and they’re very reasonably priced compared to some other HomeKit enabled devices.

All in all, I would recommend and will be buying more Meross stuff.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo after buying several of these and getting them set up – i was PLAGUED with glitches. they would go from working all the time. just glitchy as anything… I contacted the Meross technical email line who were very welcome. I’m not too ofay with the technicalities of my BT Home hub 2 – but after some googling and research i went into the Router admin and switched off the 5 GHZ band width which just left the 2.4 one. almost immediately – they all refreshed and are working SPOT ON!. I have 7 plugs and 2 light bulbs and use apple HomeKit. I’m still learning but the moral of the story is only use the 2.4 ghz bank of your router. Now – they’re working perfectly and have a seamless integration with Siri – i’m most impressed. We have a couple of Homepod mini’s which also make the use easier. I’ve also downloaded the meross app which allows you to update the firmware. Overall – definitely recommend!!

    Overview:
    – I love them! These are some great smart plugs, I’ve had a few before and although these aren’t perfect they’re pretty close. Having that HomeKit integration is amazing for me as I can now use my HomePod to more seamlessly control my devices – instead of using things like Siri Shortcuts that I’ve always had issues with through HomePod. They’re well built products and if you catch them in the sale they’re definitely worth the buy!

    Pros:
    – Works with Apple HomeKit! I love that this product is one of the currently few smart plugs that are compatible with HomeKit and so I can utilise Siri effectively. Meross also have good Alexa integration and I’ve not tried google home.

    – Great connection! So far I’ve had no drops in connection for this device and it’s always worked as expected. I’ve had some tech products before that were unreliable so to have something that you know will work is great. I’ll update this if I experience any issues in the future.

    – Sturdiness! These devices are well-built and can withstand a lot of abuse – but don’t go smashing it about! You could break something internally. I can see these lasting for 5 years+

    – No Hub! This is both a pro and con for different reasons but I’ve put it under pro, from a consumer side you don’t have to pay extra to have these smart plugs work in your smart home, they just run from your local WiFi but if Meross ever went bust you might have issues as the servers that assist these WiFi devices will likely go down and stop connecting. Hubs work locally and so your devices would just keep working, but unlike most people think these WiFi devices don’t process every request via a server but just “check-in” every so often.

    Cons:
    – Large! This product is large, especially compared to a few (non HomeKit compatible) competitors I’ve tried. However, they’ve decided it to not block uk outlet switches but if you had an extension lead and tried plugging two of these switches together it likely won’t work

    – Cost, this one depends on your budget but I’ve had some pretty good alternatives before that come in at a lower price but if you get these Meross Plugs in the sale (I’ve seen them for about 20.99 before) then I think they’re worth it! Especially because of that HomeKit integration.

Outstanding Smart Plugs With Useful HomeKit Integration!

This is the 3rd smart plug I’ve ordered to try and make work. I’m not hugely technical, but I suspected the other 2 failed because I couldn’t make them connect to the 2.4Ghz network.

This one carries the same caution – connect to 2.4 to make it work etc. Nonetheless, Amazon delivered it 6 minutes ago. I plugged it in, scanned the code into the Apple Home app, and boom – all done. Worked immediately.

Spent the next 2 minutes adding a program to automatically turn it on and off in evenings.

And then a few minutes to write this! Didn’t need to mess with my WiFi at all, it just worked. Love it!

My first smart home device. I wanted to be able to turn a heater on and off without walking across the room or getting out of bed and this works brilliantly. Easy to set up, just scanned the code in the side of the plug. Waited a few seconds and everything worked. I downloaded the meross also to update the firmware which is with doing for stability. That was also easy and just worked. Comments elsewhere said you had to reset it up and was fiddly but I didn’t find that to be the case at all. Would recommend and buy again. I’m now looking at getting a HomeKit Meross smart bulb.

Great Plugs. Currently in the process of moving over form Zwave to Homekit and Meross devices are decent and well priced.
My one small gripe is that the plugs sometimes dropout or don’t respond. This has only occurred a few times. What I dont understand is my Unify network tells me that each plug has great signal, yet, in the Meross App, each unit is showing a significantly reduced signal. Im more inclined to believe the Unify measure, which is assessing the link to the AP, so I wonder whether its a Meross Firmware / Software issue.

I was tempted with the idea of making my home a bit smart and thought I would dip my toe in the water with the Meross Smart Plug which is Homekit compatible and works with my Apple gear. Installation was a doodle just scanning the QR code on the plug with my iPhone and I was away. It works faultlessly and switches almost instantly while at home. I was so impressed that I have just bought 3 more and have now sent up my old iPad as a home hub and this gives me control while away from home and lets me set up a schedule. I feel sure these won’t be my last Meross Smart devices.

I was surprised how easy these were to install just one tip make sure there are no 5g WiFi networks around your phone can login to during the setup. So far these sockets are instant to respond and have not lost connection, other HomeKit devices can be hit and miss on reliability. My confidence on HomeKit is slowly being resorted, good chance I’ll be ordering more in the future.

Looks very well made & so far is working very well after integrating with Apple Homekit. I guess the same may well be true of a lot of these devices, but unless you know beforehand (I didn’t), the plugs are very difficult to set up if your wifi is running on both 2.4 & 5.0 GHz. The upper band has to be disabled first before the plugs can be linked successfully to the wifi. If you don’t go into the hub settings & do this, the installation fails every time. Something to be well aware of….

It was a little tricky to install and get working, but that may be a HomeKit issue. Once it is working, it works very well.

You need the Meross app to update the firmware. Yes I’m living the dream and updating the firmware on my plugs.

I’d like it to be less chunky but at least it doesn’t interfere with sockets on either side.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor smart equipment, having everything from the same brand means less apps. Now that these work with Google Home, it’s even easier.
The Meross app lets you switch on and off either automatically (on a timer) or manually. You can do this from anywhere, so if you want to turn something on remotely, it’s simple.
At first, my use didn’t go further than a bedroom light going on and off for security.
The uses go far further than that:
    – Anti mosquito or calpol plug-in vapour for kids
    – Night light for kids
    – Switching on / off fan in kids room
    – Security ‘fake TV’ on/off
    – Christmas tree lights on/off either on a timer or without having to crawl behind the tree
    The list goes on!

hese are so simple to use and program I think my mum could manage it, but i got them and put one on my Kettle, my routine every night is to hit the buton on the top to switch the plug off , then fill up kettle and flick its switch on, My alexa has a morning routine and I added the command to turn on kettle, so now when i come down in the morning the kettle is hot so i can make a coffee and head to work . Ive added the second plug to my electric blanket so the bed is warmed up for 30 min whilst im still downstairs watching TV in the evening, Life cannot get better.

Despite what you may read elsewhere, these units supplied by Amazon in the UK (model MSS210, not MSS210HK..) are not Apple HomeKit compatible. In fact on the Merros home page the link to buy the HomeKit version is missing, so maybe they don’t exist yet.

Fortunately the iOS Merros app is very user friendly and easily guides you through the setup. it installed on my iPad but is not iPad compatible really, and set-up failed on the iPad, so I have uninstalled it from that device.
I have set my first two up to control some outside security lights. Easily created a timer to turn on at Sunset and off at midnight. They have been reliable so far. You can disconnect them and move them around the house and as long as there is good wifi, they reconnect every time.

I have installed the Google Home app and it readily identifies the devices, I imagine Alexa will do as well but I have not tried. Voice recognition with the phone works via Google Home, next on the list is a Google Nest mini…

They are a bit bigger than I expected, but you can still access the switches on a typical UK double socket plate, even if they are in the centre of the plate.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent prompt service from the seller, so a speedy arrival. I have a number of these which means I am impressed and know how to set up. My advice is to get as close to your router as possible to enable them to ‘pair’. Once that is done and I give it a location name, put it in the required socket and that is that.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI recently changed my router and I knew I would have to update my security cameras and smart plugs/lights etc, they are all on WiFi.
I the Camera’s were easy. I had five smart plugs, two Meross and three others. The Meross smart plugs were simple to set-up via the App. The other three wasted nearly three hours of my life before in temper I threw them in the bin. I ordered three more Meross smart plugs which arrived the next day. It took 15-mins to set them up which included linking them with Alexa. I then bought a Meross electric garage door opener. Again it was simple to install and show me at a glance whether the door is open or closed and allows me to operate it from anywhere. I would recommend the Meross range of WiFi accessories to anyone who needs seamless control over lights/ or gadgets.

I have 3 of these units, one controlling my fish tank, one controlling the decorative lights in my sunlounge an one controlling the charger on my notebook in the bedroom. They all were easy to install and set up and have worked faultlessly until 13 months after the last purchase.
The notebook charger suddenly was on all of the time, so I re-set it with the assistance of the suppliers. When that didn’t work, they offered to replace it, although it was over a year old, so to WiFiExpert I have to say, thank you for your customer support — it is appreciated. I had thought that since the switch was just over a year old I would just get an ‘out of warranty’ dismissal, as I have from other companies.
