This is my 3rd and Originally I thought it was expensive for a single speaker, But after knowing it’s capability I’d be willing to pay more.
The bass for such a small device is epic even outside in the garden, Ours play throughout the house so going room to room with same songs playing is great.
Loads of Apps, You can connect through smart devices easily and Add a hub to connect to smarthings.
Even people with no I.T skills can easily set up and use it’s step by step guides are great, And the combined with a phone or tablet they are easy to adjust.

Amazing quality sound from such a small speaker and so versatile. I have 3 now around the house. Great quality and solid build.
This is the 5th one of these I have and they are grea
Having received a One 2nd Gen as a gift, I immediately bought this to male a stereo pair. Astounding sound, so impressed that im now considering replacing my cinema sound setup with all its wires with thr sonos arc 5.1.2 system. A real investment in sound!
Love dancing to this product. Mostly the foxtrot.
BUT! Sonos: please make the app easier to change the wifi the device is connected to for goodness sake!
Good speaker but I wish it would work as a stereo pair with the Sonos Play.
Bought a pair of these for the audio in my Mac. They set up very easily including the procedure for stereo matching and sound great. I have one reservation which may well be a Mac issue rather than a Sonos one and I’m putting this here purely for anyone thinking of buying for the same reason.
When I start up my music library or any web based music sources, it can take up to 15 seconds after the music starts playing before it comes through the speakers. I produce radio shows and often have to listen to and edit very short segments of music. Due to the delay, this is impossible and I have to revert to headphones for this task. As I say this may well be an Apple issue but it certainly makes this a consideration for anyone buying the product for this reason. If you’re buying them purely for listening to music then I’d thoroughly recommend them as the sound quality is excellent.

Excellent sound but after buying the Sub Bass which is expensive but it did take the sound to an other level, I was considering the Naim but glad with taking the Sonus
Set up was really easy, just following short printed instruction, then online guidelines. Individual unit set up, pairing in stereo were really straight forward, as was adding an additional unit. Adding music services was a little tricky to understand (separate Spotify accounts), but once we understood, relating that for the rest of the family was easy too. The sound fills the room or rooms when we have them all on… rich and clear and so good to control it all from our phones!

Bought this for my parents for Christmas. Was able assist them over the phone to get it set up and running. They have been raving about the sound quality and the ease of using the app.
On it’s it’s fine, as a pair it’s great. Although, the bass could be better.
This is a really smart looking speaker which delivers good sound quality. It does occasionally loose connection but re-connects fairly quickly.
Can not praise the sound enough , Amazing I have 2 plus the beam
If you are looking for an amazing sounding quality surround sound system then look no further. These are stunning and I have them linked with my Sonos Arc & Sonos Sub.
The Sonos APP makes these easy to set up and you can easily use these speakers as individual room speakers or group them in zones etc.
Ideal for multi room sound set ups.
There is a really lovely tone to these speakers which is hard to explain in text, they just give a really well balanced range which doesn’t over extend the lows or highs.
I highly recommend this set up.
Fantastic sound system, paired with the beam it’s great music and tv sound system
Bought for my husband’s birthday, he’s delighted with it . The sound quality is amazing!
Bought 2 of these and paired them together to give stereo sound either side of room. Couldn’t have been more straightforward to setup using the Sonos app. Use it mainly for listening to radio or Amazon music, again easily linked via the app.
Great speaker using it with beam and sub for my TV. Fantastic sound.
I bought two of these to add to the Beam soundbar attached to my TV. Technically this constitutes a ‘surround’ system for the TV, and for some that will matter, though I wanted it mostly for music listening. As a music setup it sounds excellent, with much wider stereo separation than you can get with the Beam, of course, and a much more substantial sound all the way from delicate treble on violins and flutes to solid bass (intro to ‘Smoke on the water’ was the first thing I played). An audiophile would probably say that a separates system gives slightly better sound quality, and maybe it would: but not having speaker cables everywhere, and having the benefit of using the Sonos system for TV playback as well as connection to Spotify (so my CD collection has long gone to the charity shop) is great. Sitting back with a good scotch and telling Alexa to fill my large lounge with something thunderous by Rachmaninov (or indeed Deep Purple) is a real treat. The speakers are tiny and reassuringly solid, and pack an impressive sonic punch for their size: and setting the system up is child’s play using the phone app. Very pleased.

I got 4 in total and they were super easy to set up even with Sonos’ flakey app! In fairness to Sonos they are trying to improve the user experience in the app. However, unless you live in the dark ages it’s not difficult to understand or use.
The speakers themselves sound amazing especially when paired in stereo. I then grouped mine so the same music plays throught my apartment and i love it! Everywhere i walk it’s like being in a 5 star hotel where the music just follows you around.
I looked around for ages before deciding to take the plunge with Sonos and i’m so glad i did, beautiful speakers, beautiful sound, easy to set up, i’m really pleased with them. I intend to get 2 more because they do actually sound alot better paired in stereo.
Top Tip.
If you don’t like using the app, once you’ve set up your speakers Sonos still lets you download the PC app to control them and do everything you need to do with your music etc. You just can’t use the PC app to set them up initially.

Easy setup, loads of compatible music apps, looks great and sounds lush.
I purchased this as a birthday gift and it was pleasantly received. No-one in the family has a Sonos product but after a friends recommendation, I got this one. The set-up was a breeze and operated faultlessly from initial set-up to first use. The room “sound measuring activity”, during set-up, of waving a mobile phone around the room, was hysterical – an added bonus. 🙂 The Sonos app on IOS was clear and this One SL is now in daily use. listening to Australian radio stations (don’t ask). I would say that this product has behaved so well, the gift receiver has asked if others could be purchased to add to this one. and considering to use as a stereo pair. For me, that’s what I call a recommendation.
Sonos really know how to deliver sound! If you’re up for the price – get these… you won’t regret it!
I had a little trouble setting them up at first… just wouldn’t connect to my WiFi. So that was frustrating. Once connected, though – just awesome. Love them! Should have bought these ages ago!
Ordered on Sunday and received bank holiday Monday. Already have 4 so set up is easy and sound is the best. Can play Audible and radio through it via the excellent app.
Made a major difference to my surround sound, the sync very well with the ARC and SUB
Great sound easy to use contects to phone and TV no issue
Used these as surrounds along with the Sub and Beam. Great sound, as expected from Sonos!
I have purchased 2 of these to use as surround sound speakers with my playbar and sub. They are great, the sound quality is impressive without them, however with them you really are placed in the middle of the action. I would recommend to anyone looking to improve their viewing experience.
We joined the Sonos family at Christmas when we bought a beam for the TV and they play 5 to replace our old clapped-out amplifier and speakers. This most current purchase was to place in the kitchen after we had a bit of a move around and took our computer into a different room. As a consequence, we were left with an echo dot which soun Sounds less than perfect if you want to listen to music. We received this product today and had it set up within minutes. Others had said to me how the speakers packed a punch even on their own, but I was still amazed when we started to play music through it. The base is deep and subtle, It has a lovely midtone and crystal clear top end. Even one individual speaker completely fills the kitchen/dining room with sound and is a lovely addition. The size means it sits nicely on our worksurface without too much trouble and isn’t taking up vital appliance space. I’m really pleased and have no doubt I will be back to buy another at some point. Note, this model does not have Alexa built-in, but as we have an echo dot, we have configured the Alexa app, so that when we ask for music, it plays straight to the speaker with no wires necessary. Therefore, voice control is still at our fingertips when we need i

Incredible sound for the size and at a great price from amazon.
I bought a One 2nd Gen and was so impressed I got an SL to pop into the conservatory, set up following the instructions on the Sonos app was a piece of cake, they both link well and with the app can be independently controlled, sound is fantastic and if you need a bit of extra base or treble, it’s all done with the app
Follow the instructions, give it a day or two to get familiar with the app and you’ll get the best out of the system, it’s easy to stream radio channels and play any of your own music on phones etc, it really is a nice piece of gear.

Girlfriends Easter gift. Absolutely in love with it and worth every penny.
Powerful base great treble and mid range. This is the second sonos speaker I have. Great looking, easy to set up via the App. If you like great quality minimalist looks this is for you
Pair them to get a great stereo sound or home cinema surround sound.
Put in bedroom to complete my system would have considered Bose but already had play 5 and sub with play 1
Bit annoyed as sonos have updated speakers but no longer offer support for the old ones and only offer a 30% discount on new to upgrade
You cannot beat Sonos when it comes to sound. Its amazing having two speakers connected and working as left or right speakers but when you sat the desk, the sound, sounds like its coming from in front of you ! Thats how amazing they are. Very nice base, clear voice, no noise and clear sound. Highly recommend Sonos. Now that I have a 4K TV, I’ll be definitely buying the Sonos Beam Soundba
Bought this to go with a gen 2 play one for the stereo separation. Was it worth it? Hell yeah! Not exactly a cheap option but the sound is excellent.
I love Sonos speaker!! Sound has a great quality and works with either radio or Spotify/Apple Music
So…you obviously buy into the proprietary brands and have to stick with them, but if you haven’t yet invested I’d definitely advise Sonos. Super easy to setup and use (the app is shite but I use mine with Apple Music and before this Spotify, which worked perfectly). Paired, these sound amazing and fill all but the largest rooms…
As for the SL specifically, this obviously lacks the microphone for Smart speaker capabilities (Alexa, Siri, etc) so pairs wonderfully with the Sonos One (that does have a microphone). Save yourself 20 by only buying ONE one, if that makes sense
As the title says, brilliant product, very good sound quality for it’s size, and I’d even dare to say it has “soul” in the way it sounds. It looks, feels and works like you would expect from Apple products, which is probably what Sonos was trying to achieve, and they definitely have. Very east to set up and operate, seamless connection stability and overall performance.
But…
Do not make the same mistake as me and only buy one speaker. I initially got one and was so disappointed that I returned it. Then after reading online a bit I found that if you don’t have 2x set up as a stereo pair, it runs Mono, and everything is just muddy and boring. So I decided to buy 2 from Amazon, and boy am I happy I did. It is a completely, COMPLETELY different experience, everything is crisp, clear, warm, bassy, just amazing, I’ve had them for about probably 2 months, and they still amaze me. If I ever get rich, I’ll buy the subwoofer too, that would make it absolutely mindblowing.
Oh and one more thing, make sure you go trough the Trueplay tuning. You’ll need an Apple device to do it but it is absolutely worth it.

I bought this product wanting a modern premium sound system for music and surround sound at home. I was very please with the two Sonos One SL which I paired up within 5 minutes with my Alexa devices and the app. I agree that having to download the app is a pain, but it is quick and can be useful when apps are added, including Spotify. I would recommend this product for anyone wanting a premium sound and willing to pay a little more. The sound compared to Echo devices is just another level in quality, especially bass.
I’m planning on adding a Sonos soundbar (Beam, Playbase or Playbar) and subwoofer in time for a surround sound system, including the two Sonos One SLs I’ve bought as rear speakers. This adds to the appeal for me that there are multiple functions for this product, which I’m currently using as a stereo music system for the time being.

Had the previous Play:1 speaker but went for this upgraded version as it supports Airplay 2.
For this model, the design has been refined and the speaker itself is a bit lighter than the older Play:1.
Packaging is simple but effective too.
Comparing back to back the sound quality of both, this model seems to emphasise voice more than the older model as opposed to bass. Still, I’m splitting hairs here and honestly this one and the old one have great sound quality for the price.
Have two linked to a beam it works really well. simple to set up , does exactly what it says on the tin.
already have two of these in my lounge acting as surround to my system. brought this one for the kitchen. Easy set up , sounds great also looks smart.
Took the plunge on 2 x Sonos ‘Ones’ thinking “they’ll do for a bit of music around the house” living room and kitchen. I was blown away so much by the stereo set up I need another 2 now… and I will be getting them soon. Breathtaking.
eeded help to install from younger family!! otherwise, great product.
Being a Sonos veteran I believe I can accurately compare this speaker to my other Sonos items I already own. At present I have 3x Sonos One speakers, and now the SL in this entry level category. The design is sleek and contemporary as we all expect from Sonos. Minimalistic subtle differences between this and the Sonos One, namely the microphone array on the top and the microphone icon. Sound quality is identical and I would definitely recommend opting for this cost saving speaker to pair with another Sonos one as rear surround speakers. If voice assistants do not interest you or plan on placing this speaker in a public business location, I would opt for this version.

The build quality. The sound is really good. You can hear a good range of bass and treble. Easy to set.
Bought as a surround pair to link with my beam soundbar. Excellent sound very impressed and very very easy to set up
These are great speakers if you want multi room music, or rear speakers to couple with a Sonos sound bar for hugely improved TV sound. They’re not cheap, but I got them in the new year sale. And you get what you pay for. The quality is terrific. Other speakers can cost much more so Sonos does deliver value for money. Just a cautionary note: the One SLs are not Alexa enabled. You have to pay a bit extra for the Sonos Ones for that facility. I chose not to so it wasn’t an issue for me.
Great speaker, decent price, bought to link up stereo pair with Sonos One speaker in lounge, and Sonos One speaker in bedroom. Works perfectly
I do worry about the future and whether Sonos shut updates down and force me to buy another so my last Sonos purchase for now. But they are great speakers
Perfect addition to the Sonos beam we have. True surround sound well worth i
I bought 3 Sonos One SLs and found iphone setting up very easy to use. The sound quality is – for a UKL 160 device in pairs plus streaming from Spotify – very good 4*+ (I own high end hifi and headphones so I was not disappointed) and there is also EQ settings too if you need. The Sonos support (I have contacted from Austria) was, surprisingly, simply excellent, a very rare case for anything in Austria. Full credit to the helpful English speaking staff (not German English) who came quickly (not 15 mins later) on the free call, really a decisive post sales factor which I had not considered even and would now recommend heartily. Amazon delivery was within 4 days too. Apart from the initially hiccups of learning to go through the Sonos App when you want to listen to Spotify music on your home system, as opposed to pressing the Spotify App per se when you are in your car etc. (I would like to have a clearly menu layout in Spotify to be able to differentiate…), everything works well. I would have considered a lesser expensive system but have no qualms now. Only downside is that there does not appear to be a consistently apparent integrating device to plug in one’s old CD players etc. as the Sonos kit seems to be changing or very old or otherwise confusing as to what one should actually buy (plus 400 pounds plus – expensive – to be able to hook up older devices).

Sounds great with the Beam… I bought a pair as rear surrounds
Would definitely recommend, will be getting another in the future.
The way the speakers are utilised making a clear surround sound. Also super for listening to digital radio.
If you don’t need voice control this is a great bit of kit. The sound is amazing, you can’t get this anywhere near full volume without bursting your eardrums. Jazz and acoustic blues sound perfect at even low levels, and loving reliving my Floyd albums. Will likely buy a second one to get the full stereo experience.
This was an addition to our playbar, which is an excellent speaker. We hesitated between the IKEA speakers but after reading some reviews we decided to pay the price and get the good sound quality you’d expect from Sonos. The have now two of those and they are perfect for a room up to 18sqm. If you have a bigger room then look for a play 5.
Work as well as expected as part of a 5.1 surround which sounds brilliant, great for tv, gaming and the best stereo I’ve ever owned when linked with sub and beam
Solid sound with decent bass. Even better when you pair it up with another SL and a Beam all in one room.
Love it, easy to set up, download the app, then add the music channels, loads to choose from, very happy that I can play Deezer and amazon music through it too.
I already own an amazon Alexa, which is great but has it’s downfalls, mainly my husband, if I’m listening to something he doesn’t like, he will tell Alexa to skip the track!
With this Sonas he can’t do that, as I didn’t buy the Alexa enabled one, and I am in charge of the playlist now.
Fantastic sound quality, need to save up for another one for upstairs now
Delivery very quick too

Bought as a Christmas present for my son, he is very impressed with it. Great quality sound.
It was a gift for my son in-law. He loves and it arrived before date
Cant fault them. Have 2 speakers linked to sonos sound bar.
My main advice: Get two (or four, or six, or eight).
I bought one to see what it was like and this will be the first of four. We use it in the kitchen and the sound is awesome for a mono device, I will add one to create stereo and then a second pair will live in the living room as the sound quality beats our aging hifi set by a distance.
The price is really competitive compared to rivals, although one doesn’t sound as good as a single Apple HomePod, two sound better, and two of these are still cheaper than a HomePod.
The SONOS App on the phone is great, wide range of connectivity. I’ve now set it up with Spotify, Amazon Music and Google Play as well as a few radio plug-ins.
Worth it!

Hardware good but it’s the app that matters. The easiest way to get decent sound from any music source. I had uploaded all my music to google music years ago and given up on easy access. Pointed the app at the music and all 220 gig accessible as if in my room beside me.
Slightly disappointed by sound quality- it’s good but doesn’t quite create a soundstage even in stereo- not enough space around different instruments so can sound muddled but let’s see how they bed in and loosen up after 100hrs of use.
NOTE: These are Wi-Fi only and no Alexa control.
Very well made, very stable connection, very good sound quality. They exceeded my expectations in all of the key areas. The primary selling points for me were Wi-Fi (I hate Bluetooth) and easy L&R pairing. Super happy with all that. I’ve had no end of trouble with Bluetooth stereo pairing, so it’s such a joy to see the SONOS app manage it with a couple of phone taps. Exactly how it should be.
I don’t use the Sonos App for playback. That’s only needed for initial setup. On my Mac I use Spotify connect which finds the speakers immediately. iTunes airplays to them and for Soundcloud etc via a desktop browser, I use Rogue Amoeba AirFoil. On my Phone I just use Spotify and Airplay. So that’s good news people…..both the desktop and mobile integration is absolutely top notch, easy and seamless.
So in a nutshell, these are dang good. They sound epic for their size, equally happy chilling in the background or rocking a house party.
For 138 each, I was looking for a catch…..but there simply isn’t one. Enjoy!
Arrived very quickly and well packaged. I already have one but this was for my eldest son. He’s now a convert from Bose.
Great sound quality!

Enjoy!
The sound quality is identical to my Play 1s and Sonos One speaker – unbeatable for the size of the speaker IMHO. This is a Sonos One minus the microphones/voice assistant. Great for pairing with a Sonos One if you want stereo sound, as you won’t need 2 voice assistants in close proximity.
Slightly sleeker/more modern looking than the Play 1s, though there’s not much in it.
I was given a Sonos One SL speaker for Christmas as a starter to moving from a wired 5.1 system to a neater wireless solution. I’d expected to need to buy a Sonos Beam to get sound from my TV whilst using the One SL for music etc but happily discovered I can use AirPlay from my Apple TV 4K direct to the One SL so I no longer need the amp and wired speakers for sound in the lounge. That discovery led to me buying a second One SL to give a stereo pair for use upfront until I can add a soundbar later when finances permit and then use the SL’s as rear surround speakers.

Glorious sound quality, easy to use, integrates with existing music systems such as Apple Music. Doesn’t have echo or Alexa or whatever.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I’ve wanted a Sonos for years and I but the bullet and bought two of the SL’s (version without microphone). The setup is so simple and the sound quality to me is phenomenal. We have one in the kitchen/dining room and another in the living room. You can easily play alternate music in both rooms, or the same music I’m both rooms at different volumes. At the discounted price these seem amazing value to me. Would defo recommend
Bought as part of my Sonos 5.1 home theatre set up (2 x One SL, 1 x Beam and 1 x SUB). Adds a great level of surround sound and you notice elements of songs that I hadn’t before which was a nice surprise.
Set up is seamless so only takes a matter of minutes due to the great Sonos app set up.
Would have rated value for money higher if I had bought it during the sales.
I realty didn’t believe the hype around the sonos family, but decided to bite the bullet and give it a try, how wrong I was.
the setup was straight forward and simple, the immediate sound quality blew me away, the mid-tones and voice are crisp and the range and quality of sound has left me extremely impressed with just the one speaker. once I used the ios sound setup, the quality got even better.
The vast range of connectability over the internet, and local media servers is really helpful, and the sonos app keeps it all in one place and simple to control
so impressed I am considering upgrading my whole audio system to the sonos range (when I rob a bank and can afford it 😀 )
so to sum it up, superior quality at a premium price – but well worth the expense

Used in the kitchen to stream music from an iPhone. Excellent sound quality as you would expect from Sonos. But also perfect airplay 2 integration so Bluetooth pairing woes are of the pas
Delivered on time and well packed, I have a few Sonos speakers and all linked together, a very good sound system
I recently purchased two SL’s and paired them with my Sonos Beam which is connected to a Samsung 4K TV in my bedroom. I used the new speakers as rear placements hoping to provide a fuller sound in the room. Setting up the new speakers only took a few minutes using the excellent Sonos APP which includes an automated sound-check. I tested the sound by playing a 4K movie and noticed an immediate improvement – very happy with my purchase 🙂
One speaker sounds good, pairing them, like I have sounds great. Adding more to your collection to have music around the house is even better.
However they aren’t cheap. The sonos website was selling a pair of One SL speakers for 278. Amazon was selling one for 138. I purchased two for 276, not a massive saving, but I felt better for saving a whole 2.
The speakers are easy to setup using the app and were very easy to setup as a pair. I already have a Sonos One with voice control and using the app I have connected all three speakers together so that I can still use voice commands to select music rather than using the app all of the time.
The app is easy to use and is connected to my Amazon music, my NAS, spotify and the music on my phone. You can connect to a lot of other music sources as well.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I wanted the sub woofer but even in the sale it was 565 so will wait for that to become a more reasonable price.

Already own older Sonos playBar system. Sonos were discontinuing some app capability on this system. Sonos advised that our system would continue functionality if wired or wirelessly connected to any newer Sonos product. We bought the SL as we didn’t want voice function. Spectacular sound is always a given with Sonos. Adding the SL speaker in the room is done via Surround sound app. But this looked for 2 additional speakers whereas we purchased 1 for the simple reason stated above ie to continue functionality. The only way we could therefore add the speaker was via the ‘second/room’ function even though this speaker was in the same room as the playBar. We then had a persistent echo and the only way to get rid of it was to manually balance the volume to just below that of the PlayBar. Thus would’ve been not perfect but ok except that we had to manually (via the app) ‘group’ the room speakers everytime we switched on the system or TV because it (app) defaulted to the playBar which became tedious. We returned the SL to Amazon who refunded us on full. If anyone is faced with a similar situation then you will need to either purchase a completely new system such as beam/Play 5 etc or buy 2 speakers.

Just fantastic sound! Already had a pair of Sonos One speakers in my office, bought a second pair of Sonos One SL so that I now have Sonos One + One SL in both office and lounge (one Alexa-enabled in each room). Easy to set up and control through mobile and desktop apps. A high quality item.
To look at, the Sonos One SL is identical to the Sonos One and Sonos One (Gen 2) in every way except that if you looking very closely, you can see that it doesn’t have the microphone arrary on top. A direct replacement for the PLAY: 1, it has no built in Alexa or Google Assistant functionality. If you have no need for Alexa or the Google Assistant, this is the entry level Sonos speaker to get. I have three other Sonos One speakers and I never use voice commands – it’s much easier (and accurate!) to use the excellent Sonos app.
It can be paired with a Sonos One or Sonos One (Gen 2) for stereo playback but NOT a Sonos PLAY:1. I’m not exactly sure why Sonos have made the SL because you don’t have to activate Alexa or Google Assistant on either of the existing Ones for the speaker to work but I suppose it will be less expensive once the price settles. If you intend to use the Sonos One SL in a stereo pair with a Sonos One, you do only need one speaker with a microphone if you want to use voice commands.
The build is superb. All black it’s reassuringly heavy with ‘invisible’ control buttons on the top. I’ve been using Sonos speakers for three years and out of the box, it took less than 5 minutes to add it to my existing set up and pair it with a Sonos One (Gen 2) using the Sonos app. It really is straightforward even for a first time setup — just follow the app’s instruction. Often imitated but never bettered, if you want quality sound, first class functionally & compatibility and a good looking speaker without a voice assistant, buy a Sonos One SL. I’ve added a photo of the One SL next to a One (Gen 2) to show just how identical they are.
If you’re new to Sonos you might find the following of use:
I definitely recommend buying two Sonos One speakers and pairing them together in stereo mode. Using one by itself is adequate but playback is in mono. Pairing two together gives you the sound quality equivalent to that of a good mid-range amplifier and speaker setup. Unlike Bluetooth, I’ve never experienced a single dropout with Sonos. Music is seamlessly streamed over my Wi-Fi and it sounds fabulously clear.
In the Sonos app settings you can adjust the Bass, Treble and Balance and if you have Loudness toggled to ‘On’, it makes a very noticeable difference. If you have an Apple device or know someone who has one, a one time tuning using Trueplay (it’s only available in the iOS app) adds another uplift, albeit subtle.
The Sonos app is easy and intuitive to use and when installed on a device it acts like a remote control. It allows you to add ‘Favourites’ (playlists, songs, radio stations, artists, etc.), control room settings if you have multiple Sonos speakers, adjust the EQ, add or remove services, set alarms and all sorts of other things that you can tailor to your exact personal preference. I can also control playback using my Windows 10 PC and you can move from phone, tablet or PC – they display the same information when the Sonos app is opened.
The compatibility is astonishing – Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, TuneIn Radio, Audible, Bandcamp and loads of other services that I’ve never heard of. Some require you to have a paid subscription (i.e. Spotify Premium). You can also play music stored on a smartphone, tablet, PC or network-attached storage.
I use Spotify, Bandcamp, Network-attached storage (with both MP3 and FLAC files), Google Play Music (I have a backup of my music on it), Amazon (where I have access to my Auto-rip music), SoundCloud, TuneIn, Mixcloud and music stored on my Phone. Basically, I’m spoilt for choice when it comes to accessing my music and finding it is a breeze with the Sonos app. If I search for an Artist, Album, Track, etc. it will show all matches from the services I’ve added and also the device I’m using.
I don’t own any Apple devices but all Sonos Ones support Apple Airplay 2. Press the Airplay icon in any apps that support it and select the Sonos speaker(s) you want to cast the sound to. You can also setup Siri for voice commands.
On my Android devices, in Google Play Music and Amazon Music, if I press on the Cast icon, I can choose which Sonos speaker(s) to cast to. I can also select which speaker(s) to play music on from within the Spotify app.
Finallly, the Sonos One SL does NOT have a 3.5mm input and it does NOT support Bluetooth playback. You CANNOT use it directly with a TV either. For that you’ll need either a Sonos Beam, Playbase or Playbar and a couple of Sonos Ones can be set up as surrounds.
