This is only worth buying if you know what to do with it otherwise the few games on there get boring.

I bought the original PS1 at midnight on the launch day, queuing up at my local games shop to collect my reserved console along with Ridge Racer. Back home and playing into the early hours! As a huge Sega fan I had given up on the Saturn, and felt guilty about buying this and ended up trading in for a Dreamcast a while later. However time passes – well over 20 years now and I saw this and thought about the games I used to play. Although you get a good selection there are not enough, so I recommend looking for the game packs on Amazon. Amazing – 100s of games probably all your favourites somewhere – I’ve just finished Medal of Honour again, Doom, the list goes on. What was an OK retro console is now a must have

Pleased with the quick delivery. Happy memories of games past. Smaller than I thought but impressed with the setup and games. Still as good as I remember.

I purchased this as a gift for my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas as they had recently moved in together. My brother and I had a playstation 1 back in the day and played various games like Speed Freaks, Simpsons Wrestling, Abe OddWorld. The console itself is so much smaller than the original (not that I’m bothered about that), the games it comes with are okay, not the best (I had only ever played Abe OddWorld from the original), and I had no issues with delay or lag when playing it. As a present I think it’s a winner because no one really expects to receive a console, and when I bought it it was only 45 pounds which I think is a bit of a bargain.

As a stock console with the games it come with it’s terrible,BUT when you dig deeper and have over 5000 games installed on a 64gb flash drive running through autobleem and emulation station it’s a absolute little beast and a bargain.Purchase one now as I really think these will double in price if not more in the very near future,You can run loads of different builds and wireless controllers once up and running.XBOX ONE,PS4 DUALSHOCK,8 BIT DO…..etc etc.Im not very tech savvy but auto bleem 0.9.0 install was a breeze to install (watch youtube)
    Just buy.

Although the games on the system aren’t large in number or the best games released on the platform it’s a problem easily solved with browsing the internet for possible hacks or buying a thumb drive separately that can add hundreds of games like I did. For the convenience of having a small retro console through hdmi plugged in for a bit of nostalgia it’s good

If you expect the same graphics output and gameplay as the original PlayStation, you will be very happy. Fantastic piece of 90’s nostalgia.

The game selection isn’t amazing but you can purchase a True Blue Mini should you want more games. They are around 20 each to buy, with 100 games included, check their website first as there are many fakes around.

All these people whining because the graphics haven’t been remastered should just pipe down and buy an XBONE.

If you love vintage games, you’ll love this. It’s kept me out of the Mrs hair for a good while and it’s kept her occupied too to be fare. It’s small and easy to store out of the way and easy to set up. Took a bit of getting used to the old controllers again as I am used to PS4 ones now. It was novel. Top notch. Definitely get yourself one.

Poor selection of bundled games, considering it is a long- obsolete platform, I think more should have been supplied. Luckily, usb sticks are available…..to ramp up the game list to a respectable number. Glad I bought it….if only to play Ridge racer, and Worms again.

    I feel like I’m 12 again!!!
Even just unboxing this gave me joy I haven’t felt in years. Literally I felt like a kid over 20 years ago when I got my PlayStation 1. I didn’t know I miss that so much until I got it today.

Then comes that sound and all the animations when you put on PS1. Just wow.

If you don’t expect that it will be up-to-date HD you won’t be disappointed as it is just as it was originally with all those pixels and occasional lagging etc.
It’s just what it needed to be but criticised so much for that sometimes. I don’t get it why as it is what you would get 20 years ago and wasn’t that the point of that?

Plus it’s powered via USB which makes it really portable. Add USB powered screen and a powerbank and you have amazing portable gaming gear!

Only thing that I would do differently is I’d add analog controllers.

Using it on 65 inches TV.

It’s all just amazing. Must have for old school gamers!

    This is awesome!!!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI purchased this PS1 Classic as I used to own the original back in the day, there are 20 games included which contains one of my favourite series the resident Evil series. In the box you get the console, two controllers, USB power lead, HDMI cable all you need to get started retro gaming, I recently purchased a USB stick to add more games. Follow my links to find my you tube review. For the right price you get a quality made console, it would be better if it came with more than the original 20 games.

After clocking in an hour on Tekken 3, Rayman and Metal Gear Solid (each), I found myself delighted with the PSOne Classic.

While I can’t understand the hate for this console so far, I have to thank all the negative reviews for driving the price down ; I managed to get one brand new for 35!

    Pros:
1 – The Games : while a controversial topic, I am quite happy with the range of games on this device. While there are many amazing games left out (Castlevania, Spyro, Crash…), I think Sony were challenged to pick a range of games that represented the legacy and variety of the PSOne’s game library. Bar a few games, I think it is an good selection of games out of the box. While I wish some games like Castlevania were present, there are ways to add more games… unofficially…

2 – Emulation : it seems fine! I have not experienced any audio or visual bugs, with only a few dropped frames that I doubt many will pick up on. Playing Tekken was smooth, as I can’t blame the system for getting trashed by the enemy!

3 – Classic Controllers : honestly a better decision then going for the dualshocks, as many have forgotten how imprecise the dualshocks actually were! While Rainbow Six has terrible controls for not having a two-stick controller design, Metal Gear Solid and Tekken are lived off the D-Pad. Plus, you get two controllers bundled in!

4 – Form Factor : smaller than a blu ray case, the PSOne Classic will have no problem fitting on your shelf.

    Cons:
1 – The debut price : it was simply too high when it retailed in comparison to the other micro consoles. Plus with only 20 games (some downright mediocre), it was a hard sell to many.

2 – Controller Length: its just a tad short , as I have to lean forward on my couch to not yank the console off the TV unit. All the micro consoles have this issue (no doubt its for cutting cost down), but it is still really annoying. There are ways to extend it, but it really shouldnt be the case.

3 – No Power Brick : i had to use my phone charger USB brick to get it running. Again, another cost cut akin to all similar micro consoles, and it is annoying!

Overall, I think its a great device for the sum of money I paid. While you can play many of these games on a PS3, PS2 etc., I think it serves well for a PS4 owner who has long rid themselves of their older machines (as the PS4 is unable of any backwards compat).

Ignore the negativity and give it a go!

For an old gamer this cute baby machine delivers nostalgia by the bucket load. The beautifully crafted casing, and original controllers take me right back to ’95/’96. I already have original boxed copies of a few of the preinstalled titles, but having twenty original PSX games in such a delightful wee package appealed to me, especially at such a bargain price! It would be fantastic if Sony produced an external USB storage device to enable the downloading and installation of additional games from PS Store via a PC, laptop etc., also allowing the import of PSX games from the user’s download list. This could be connected to one of the USB ports or via an OTG adapter, thus allowing two player games. Maybe they will? That would be cool! The only other niggle for me was the length of the controller cables. They should’ve been longer, though USB extension cables solve this. A little more thought from Sony could’ve made this a must have device for all retro gamers out there.

Out of the box game selection is….ok. some great titles like tekken 3, metal gear solid and GTA, however lots of classics missing.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersNever one to ever review products on Amazon (as far as I can remember, anyway), I suddenly feel compelled to do so seeing as I impulse-bought a Playstation Classic after consistently hearing about how terrible they are; that probably makes me sound like a moron but, hey.

This thing is awesome. I’m not a hardcore gamer (I have a PC that’s capable of playing most games on high if not ultra settings, but it’s used mostly for media editing and occasionally brutal doom). I did grow up with a couple of Playstations in the house. I didn’t play every one of these games back in the day (some of them are admittedly more obscure than others). The games often look, and control, like ass.

I’ll assume the decision to include games like Persona Revelations, Wild Arms, Intelligent Qube, and Mr Driller was down to some behind-the-scenes difficulties (titles like Crash, Spyro, Tomb Raider and others would have been more warmly received looking at what people are saying online).

To me, the Playstation Classic doesn’t provide a comprehensive library of the most beloved games of its time (so it’s maybe not doing the notion of a “Classic” console – previously executed well by Nintendo and Neo Geo – much justice); but it does provide 20 games which are still a lot of fun to play. It does it in a nice, efficient, well-presented package. It’s the easiest possible thing to set up, and there’s no need to install, update, prepare, or wait for anything (which is why I’d rather use this than spend time setting up a retropie).

Even once you exit a game, save states allow you to immediately pick up where you left off without needing to actually save to the emulated memory cards. If you just want to switch off and play some old games for a few hours, this is a really good package. Even with Resident Evil’s ass-like tank controls, or the slightly stiff driving of Destruction Derby, I honestly am having more fun with games than I’ve done in the past decade. It makes me nostalgic, and I’d happily have paid the original 90 for this.

So it doesn’t tick every box – who cares!? Neither do you, and people still like you a lot. I do, anyway.

Great fun not only for old players who played those games in time of their release. My two sons love the games and each has his own preferences. After price adjustment to 49.99 I think it’s ok to buy. If the console would offer expansion than higher price would be justifiable.

Since it is an emulator, it runs perfectly. Has a good amount of customisability in the settings. Built in storage to save game data and to be honest i only brought it for Metal Gear Solid. Cheaper than buying a PS3 and MGS HD Collection plus i wanted a more original feel.

Also, it is a lot smaller than you would think.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like this, it’s actually the first “mini console classic” that I’ve bought but more are on the way!

I’m in agreement with some of the comments here about contrasts between the originals and the versions that appear here on the Classic, but the point of the console is to reminisce, there has to be at least 5/6 games you’ll remember and whatever else remains is something new to discover.

My Dad hasn’t put this down since Christmas Day, Syphon Filter and GTA were the games I remember watching him play (I was 6 when this came out) but he’s fallen for Resident Evil, Tom Clancy, and moving onto Rayman! In fact we’ve just bought a new tv so he can sit at the back of the room while my Mam watches Murder She Wrote and Columbo…

Anyway I digress, I paid 90 and that’s my biggest gripe, it’s a standard Christmas ploy, but now this has dropped to 49.99 it’s well worth that! Wish the SNES would come down a little too, hint hint!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersVery tiny console. Easy to set up. Annoyed at lack of power plug but using old phone usb charger. Controller cables could be longer but you can buy extensions. I snapped this up at 49.99 which I think is the right price for it. I wish it had gran turismo and CTR but it does state what 20 games you get so can’t complain. Have only played tekkan 3 so far which is why I bought it. Brings back memories. Great for fans of the original. You get 20 games for the price of one new PS4 game. If your not a fan of the 20 games then I wouldn’t but it. Hopefully they release another version next Xmas with more games like the sega and SNES.

Old school fun in a small package

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was a young lass when the PS1 was first released and it was one of my favourite consoles growing up (besides ps2 & n64) so was very excited getting the mini classic. Looks wise, it’s very cute and is a great piece of nostalgia. Content wise…not so much. It’s got some great games on there but unfortunately not a great deal (I mean come on where is the original tomb raider?) being a gamer geek I would say your better off getting a raspberry pi and using that to emulate the classics. There is also an issue with a couple of these games having bad FPS; still playable, but makes it that little bit less enjoyable. I think With the sale figures Sony has amounted in the past 5 years they could have produced a better quality version of this, but I’d still give it a 4 star rating based on nostalgia, load up sound and some cool games to play on there.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAs the issues concerning the PlayStation Classic have already been widely publicised, I won’t bother discussing them here.

I decided to buy the console for what felt to me to be the reasonable price of 50, fully aware of the contents (or lack thereof) contained within the box; the list of supposedly ‘classic’ games (or again, the lack thereof); and the quality (or, yet again, the lack thereof) of their emulation.
After conducting a modicum of research and adjusting my expectations accordingly, I was able to enjoy the console for what it could offer to me, rather than fixate upon what it could not.

I found that the rough edges of the software actually endeared the Classic to me, evoking the limitations of mid-90’s technology, and the inherent satisfaction derived from overcoming these limitations.

I appreciate the PlayStation Classic for reminding me of quite how terrible I used to be at these games, and for affirming how little my gaming prowess has progressed over the proceeding 23 years, since the halcyonic sleepovers and rainy weekends spent huddled around the television with my brother and friends, arguing over whose turn it was to feed a Mudokon into a meat grinder, or take out an entire row of Hare Krishnas with a car in GTA 1 (we were young).

I don’t deny the failings and limitations of the PlayStation Classic, but appreciate them for reminding me of my own failings and limitations as a gamer, and for reminding me of the frustrated joy I used to derive from trying to overcome these failings and limitations on a system that did not offer easy technological solutions, supportive downloadable content, or instructive online guides.

This Christmas I became that same kid who sat in front of the television and found simple pleasure in clumsily fumbling through familiar games with familiar friends. Flawed, limited and perfectly imperfect. But at least I’m still better at these games than my brother!

Plus, the console itself is real purty!

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersSince buying both Nintendo Classics recently, news came out of this ‘Playstation Classic’ being released, I thought yes, this is going to be great, but then I started watching the many video reviews that quickly sullied any hope that the system was going to be anything but a ‘Classic’

I then decided not to purchase for now and watched more and more reviews, it wasn’t looking good for the system.
It became apparent that this system would be on sale very quickly after its launch, so I waited for the inevitable price drop and got it for 49.99

To me the system seems well built – at least as well as the Nintendo units, for your 49.99 you get the system & two controllers and a very well-designed box (I’m thinking too much effort went into the box!?!)

[1] But what does it play like? – Well… for someone like me who is not a connoisseur in anything gaming, I’ve enjoyed playing it, I hammered Destruction Derby for a good two hours + when playing for the first time.

[2] Do the games look the same as the original PS 1? – From what I remember and considering I have not looked at a PS 1 game since the mid 90’s, maybe a little grainier?

[3] What’s the menu system like? – This seems to be a bugbear of many a game reviewer! OK, it’s not as slick as the Nintendo systems, but to me it’s just as quick and easy to use, who hangs around menus anyway?

[4] What about the emulation? – I’ve played only a handful of the games and have not really noticed anything that has put me off.

[5] What about the games offered? – As I’ve already said I’ve watched many game reviews on this system so I knew what games where on the system, in total there’s probably only about 8 games out of the 20 I’m interested in, so me bleating on about what games should have and what shouldn’t have been on the system is a waste of this review, and a waste of my 49.99, I knew before purchase what I was letting myself in for.

To sum up, for a touch of 90’s gaming nostalgia [and it looks good around the Nintendo Classic systems], I personally feel it’s worth the discounted price of 49.99, I wouldn’t have the paid the full price!

For a quick blast of retro gaming it plays fine to me, but if you’re looking for top notch game choice and true emulation, it’s probably not for you.

    Playstation Classic or Cabbage!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOkay, so first off, I want be up front and say that I do agree with most of the criticisms I’ve heard about this console. There are definitely a few glaring omissions in terms of games, and I did notice that Rayman, for example, was a little blurrier than it might otherwise have been in the past.

Regardless of this, and of how easy it might have been for Sony to resolve these issues (I’m not a tech genius unfortunately so I don’t know how much effort it would have taken), I have to say that I’m not disappointed with my little PS Classic.

For a starter, the console itself is so cute. I think I literally said “Awwwwww!” when I opened it up! The packaging too is really nice, and with that, the included instruction manuals and the original non-dual shock controllers, Sony have done a great job at remaining faithful to the original design.

Each game has its own memory card, and an instant resume – allowing you to stop playing the game whenever you like by pressing the Reset button, and instantly jump back into it whenever you like (how many hours this would’ve saved me in the past…).

As for the graphics, by today’s standards they’re not great. But that’s exactly what I would expect since the types of TVs we use now weren’t even invented at that time, so there’s bound to be some quality loss. And, yes, maybe even the original PlayStation plays the games slightly better.

But if you’re willing to overlook all of that and just enjoy the games and remember that this is not a serious console, it’s just a piece of nostalgia, then you will definitely be in for hours of fun with this. Plus, the tiny size makes it extremely portable, meaning you can just pop it in a bag and take it with you on holiday or to a friends house.

And the games that are on there: FF7, Tekken 3, Rayman, Intelligent Qube, Metal Gear Solid, Abe’s Odyssee… they’re all brilliant, addicting games that will have you reliving every second spent in front of the system as a child.

So, all in all, please don’t be put off too much by the bad reviews. At 49.99, it’s a great little thing to have around and if you keep an open mind you won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA lot of people moaned about the games and speed of this console. In my opinion the games that came pre-installed were actually quite good and contained a good selection of my favourite games. The emulation was also good and most of the complaints were that they used PAL games not NTSC since NTSC has a faster frame rate. But since I am in the UK the games look and play exactly as I remember them.

But if that wasn’t enough for you then plug in a USB stick and run BleemSync on it. Now you can change the emulator settings to render everything in higher resolution and add as many games as you like to the console. The mods are getting better by the day! It can also run all other emulator cores (N64, SNES, NES, Medgadrive etc).

For 49.99 (Current Price at time of review) this really is a great piece of it!.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI really don’t understand all the negative comments, this is a fantastic piece of nostalgia. Yes the graphics are shockingly bad but that’s how they were back in the 90s and within a few moments of playing an old classic you get used to them. The console comes with a hdmi lead but this is to make sure its compatible with with modern TV’S rather than for any HD element. Would it have been nice to see all these games remastered and upscaled with modern graphics? Yes, but then the console wouldn’t be able to run them. Of course it would have been nice to see more games on there but I’m really happy with what’s here, really brings the memories back. I love it, the wife loves it and now I can show my son how the metal gear legend was born! 5 stars from me, my only real criticism is that the leads for the controllers are far too short so I’ll need some extensions but as they are USB that won’t cost alot and the omission of a plug seems strange but it does come with the USB power lead so plugs into any phone charger. Hopefully theres a way to get more games in the future but I’m very happy with it for what it is.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot mine from another games site for 44.99 but the bad thing is I played the games I liked back in the day and it didn’t make me have a nostalgia “ah” moment. 20 mins it took to grasp rainbow six controls, my thumb seemed to yern for an analog stick. I’ll see how I got but I’m no way blown away not at all.

Now used to it and pleased

What can I say, the original PlayStation console in mini version! Bought for my hubbys birthday and he loves it. It’s got a great selection of games, including some of the very first PlayStation games out.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersIt’s not a bad bit of kit, pads are good, it’s small and works off most usb chargers with the supplied usb cable.

If you go on YouTube/review sites there is a lot of hate for this product, some warranted and a lot not.

    Here’s the summary:

Stock and out of the box you have a handful of titles which are worth the appearance in this line up which play well, sure Sony made some big omissions in the line up and were lazy with the emulator but FF7 and MGS will keep you busy for hours whether replaying or having a first time through. No clue why Rainbow 6 is on there … madness.

Graphics don’t have any fancy filters or upscaling but they don’t need them, games were games without gloss in this era of gaming and still play well.

    So working on on
time used / cost = value of product , it’s not bad value either

Worth mentioning too it’s been hacked already, you can run additional games from a USB stick which negates some of the poor game choices Sony made but it has potential long term. Stick with it.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersIt’s as exactly as expected, games run as they did first time round in my opinion (they haven’t tried to polish them and make them look or play better than they did originally). Check the 20 games that are pre loaded onto it, if you’re not a fan of most, then it won’t be for you.
Personally I like the vast majority of the titles on the machine and it takes me back to my childhood.

Having read some of the reviews I was a little unsure about how this would perform but have to say it’s better than I expected.
I don’t understand the comments about graphics and sound as they’re just the same as they are on the original and I couldn’t find any of the glitches and bugs either.
Overall it’s a great little console and emulates the games well. The only thing I found disappointing is the selection of games as only a few are the ones I actually like, but then this is more down to personal preference would have just like a few extra.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersReviewers didn’t like the Playstation Classic but I pre ordered anyway knowing it’d be a matter of time before hackers opened it up.

That took all of THREE days. You can now add the entire PS library if you so desire. Very easy, only takes a few minutes, no danger of bricking your console. Add scan lines, change the games to NTSC. The hacking community will no doubt keep adding features. Shame there’s no dual shock, but who knows, soon you may he able to hook up a PS4 controller.

    But one. Hack it. Sorted.

For what this is in my opinion is very good value and took me back a good 20 odd years from when I blew my first ever wage packet on the original. Yes it’s tiny, yes it’s preloaded and no you cant add games to it however there is more than enough on here to keep you occupied – don’t worry, all the controls will soon come flooding back to you.
It’s a great piece of kit, 2 joypads (Not dual shock but you don’t need them), a scart for the TV and a USB to connect to the mains (Don’tt go out and buy an adaptor, simply use the plug from your mobile or tablet device). The leads on the control are around 1.4/1.5mtrs long however the other two leads are quite long if you want to bring the unit itself closer. Graphics are as they are were in 1995 so yes they aren’t going to look like the games on your smartphone or tablet so if thats what you’re after then this isn’t for you. For PlayStation fans this is just the ticket… Nice one Sony.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersReceived my playstation classic today and I am well pleased I used to play on the original back in day so this brought back memories for me. The graphic are not good by today’s standards but that’s how they were back then so set your expectations accordingly when you buy one.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI’m not sure what all the negative reviews are for. If you don’t want this you don’t but it. It’s a compact nostalgia trip. Great if you have little space. It will never be used as a main console. If you’ve kept the original PS1 and games fine but that’s no reason to vote down a bit of fun!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThere’s plenty of reviews on how good this is, etc. But I found out an annoying issue last night when installing which I though warranted a quick review just in case anyone people were ever wondering. Please note I only gave this 4* because I feel that the reason below shouldn’t happen. If I could half a * then it’ll be at 4.5.

The console (like the other gaming classics out there) doesn’t come with a power adapter, which is fine. I have a few about. The reason I deducted 1* was because the only way to get power to the PS Classic is via a power adapter into the mains only. I have the other 2 Nintendo Classic consoles and these can power-up and work off the USB being plugged into my USB splitter or straight into my TV – The PS Classic does not. The power for my USB splitter was even coming from the mains and even with the PS Classic plugged into it with that method, it still does not work.

I tried every possible way to power them up and I thought my product was broken as it would not work. It was only when I went straight to mains power through an adapter is when it worked. The console does work though through a HDMI splitter.

Golden Review Award: 186 From Our UsersI can’t understand people complaining about 20 games, their favourite not being on here, no dualshock or not being able to change discs. (It’s almost smaller than a disc). If they refer to the disc changer button, that does work on games (that had multiple discs) when you are up to the part in tha game where a disc change is needed…. FF7 etc.
I read about this on the Sony website before I bought it.

Also it seems people may have forgotten that this is an old console and their phones are more powerful. So the games are a little scruffy in parts and frames dropped on the original. The graphics aren’t amazing. They weren’t in 1995.

I don’t like 100% of the games. So I don’t play them. I do love some of the games and these run well, look good, play well and I’m happy I bought it.

Like the nes and snes. Some games aren’t ones you will like. You can’t add or take any away (unless it’s hacked). Like those “consoles”, it’s an emulator. It’s not an actual console. It’s a piece of nostalgia. (Memberberries) And for that it does a good job. Any company making one would be accused of Ripping off Nintendo.

Research before you buy. I bought it when it was just a few games revealed and knew their were no dualshocks. It’s not perfect. But it’s fun to play the old games with old style controllers.

    (Update)

I’ve had a few comments on this review so I thought I’d respond.

Their comments are all correct and I thank them for posting.

Analysis has shown this does not perform as well as the original. In some cases 3 FPS are dropped, in other case 10 FPS (from 60-50).

In some cases the sounds is off and the visuals blurred.

Though I must say without sarcasm. When I play it. I don’t play it with FAPS counting the frames per second. I don’t play it side by side with the original to make comparison.

I do play it for the games and I still enjoy it. (Personal opinion). Statistics are good and correct. But I didn’t buy it for stats.

The SNES mini also drops frames , sounds are off and has some colour changes to the original. Also facts by analysis by better people than I. But I must admit not as noticeable as the PS classic. My point being it’s not perfect, especially if compared statistically and side by side. It could have been better and would have been nice if it was a perfect recreation. I just play mine. And I enjoy it.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersGuess it all comes down to how much you love your classic gaming. I do and this is just perfect for it.
To remove all opinions on what games have come loaded I feel there’s something for everyone here. RPG, racing, fighting, puzzles, action and 1-2 player options, (7 games out of 20 for 2 players).

The classic ps is not much bigger than a wallet and it’s even lighter, very impressive.
The disc tray changes virtual discs for games like metal gear and FFVII. Reset to return to home dashboard and power.

The cabling is a bit short, but it’s just long enough for my needs, you can get the console about 1 metre away from the TV but the controller cables are quite short.

Usb powered, didn’t see a usb plug supplied in mine so prepare to surrender a spare usb plug.
Games load with the classic ps sound, and the loading times, game options and settings are (from my memory) exactly the same as the originals.

Controllers don’t come with analog sticks, so prepare for control pad movement only. (Better for immersive experience in my opinion).

    Hope everyone enjoyed my review.
To add my game opinions now; metal gear, jumping flash and tekken 3 are my favourite so far 😉

    Have a classic time!

Amazing classic and much needed 2 controllers

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersI have over the past 3 hours. Clocked in a Destruction Derby Campaign & got upto Vulcan Raven tank battle on Metal Gear Solid and have found the emulation to be fine. The menu is simple and the system on a whole is easy to use. The start jingle and PS logo are here to add authenicity.
The 20 games included wont be everybodys cup of tea, for those who are moaning we all knew what they were before we got the product.
There are a few action games, a couple of beat em ups, racing, puzzle, platform etc. Sony has included a board range to accomodate all ages but are missing some gems such as crash, sypro, gran turismo and tomb raider to name a few. Overall the product is solid the controller leads are short of 2 metres and could be longer but the controllers themselves feel solid if not bettet than the original.
I have given 4 stars simply because of the game content, another 5 must have classics & everybody would have loved this. But I have a feeling it will be marmite. Love it or hate it.
