Love it takes me back to when I bought my eldest child his first playstation that I secretly played on when he was in bed. My youngest is now 21 and laughed that I bought this for my self but has now got himself one and his mates are getting one they love the old style of gaming apparently. Well worth the money my grandson lives it as well.i did purchase leads to extend the controller’s do I could sit on the sofa in comfort the fixed leads are to close to TV otherwise.
I grew up with the Playstation 1 and it honestly had some of my favourites on there!!
It comes with 2 controllers resembling the PS1 controller and the actual console its self is a nice mini replica.
Upon turning it on I was disappointed to find out that there isn’t a high library but among the list was a few decent classics. Unfortunately I have to give this a 4 star only due to that I believe they could have had better games on there, so I really only fully enjoyed 5 or so of the games, but that is just me personally.
It is great for some nostalgia, or if you are new to the PS1 gaming scene it is fun to see what gaming was like before 4K games.
This console is a brilliant piece of kit, with some of the most iconic PS1 games. The console functions perfectly and the games run well, and the fact that MGS 1 is included is brilliant (since the only MGS 1 port on PS is the Legacy Collection on PS3).
However, the controllers can be a drawback. They are missing both DualShock and Analog Sticks, which robs you of the most iconic Fourth Wall Break in Metal Gear Solid, and renders Rainbow Six borderline unplayable. Whether there is a third party configurable controller available, I don’t know, but it begs the question as to why Rainbow Six was included in the first place. If you have patience and can adapt well to awkward controls, you could maybe get away with it.
The game selection is smallish but very varied, from Jumping Flash to Resident Evil, there is something for everyone in the family. It’s great to be able to play some iconic games from history and this console is brilliant for people wanting to experience the older style of games for the first time, experience the games which set the basis for some of the most outstanding games of today (Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil) and for people who want a blast from the past and replay games from their childhood.
The console itself is light and space-saving, with an open button (which functions when prompted during certain games) and a reset button to choose different games. All progress is stored on virtual memory cards, and different game disks are all virtual too.
Overall, you can overlook the issue of the controllers, this is a brilliant, aesthetically pleasing system with a high nostalgia value and a real collector’s item. I would recommend this to anyone.
It’s a fun system and brings back memories. Selection of games isn’t the best but still fun. Looks good too. Just wish the controller lead was longer and games were bette
Straight out of the box without any messing, this is probably the worst mini console out there. The game choice is limited to 20 games and the emulation is poor.
Very big ‘however’. If you have a bit of savvy, you can buy a USB 2.0 flashdrive (not 3.0; you need at least 32GB for adding other PS1 Games) and download Autobleem and follow the instructions, this becomes the best mini console on the market and one of the best emulators on the market full stop. You can download loads of other games and add to your collection.
With Autobleem (I am not advertising for them – its freeware) it will easily play any SNES, Megadrive or PlayStation game (and lots more) without any messing or opening up, voiding warranty etc – you just download a programme onto the USB stick and plug the USB stick in.
Not only that – this is the most powerful mini console on the market and will even play some Saturn and Dreamcast games, though the emulation on those is variable.
I currently have 84 PlayStation 1 games on my machine, and no – its not illegal.
Very good deal when i brought this. Works as it should well happy . Thanks
Some good retro gaming with Teken and Abe’s odyssey. Would have been perfect if Tomb Raider was included! Nice though!
