What is sous vide cooking?
Sous Vide (pronounced “sue-veed”) was once limited to professional chefs. This cooking technique can use the temperature control to achieve consistent, restaurant-level cooking results. For many years, high-end restaurants have been using vacuum cooking to ensure that the food can be cooked to the required every time.
Sous vide cooking (Sous vide means “under vacuum” in French) refers to the process of vacuum-sealing food into a bag, and then cooking the food to a very accuracte temperature in a water tank. The effect of this technique is unattainable by any other cooking method.
Sous vide cooking can control the cooking temperature and has the following advantages:
- Consistently. Since the food can be cooked to the temperature within the time, it is expected to achieve consistent results.
- Tasty. The food is cooked in the juice produced by itself. It can ensure that the food is moist, juicy and tender.
- Reduce waste. Food prepared in the traditional way can become dehydrated and lead to waste. For example, when steak is cooked in the traditional way, the volume loss is as high as 40% due to dehydration. The volume of steak made by the cooking will not shrink.
- Flexible. Traditional cooking may require your constant attention. Sous Vide cooking can heat food to a accuracte temperature and keep it warm. No need to worry about overcooking.

Sous vide cooking is much simpler than you think, and usually consists of three simple steps:
1. Fix the Sous Vide Pump on the pot filled with water, and set the time and temperature according to the required maturity.
2. Put the food in a sealed bag.
3. Finally, fry, roast or bake the food to make the food golden in color and crispy taste.

great little sous vide device, had monitored it for a while on first use, and the temperature was stable within .5 of what i had it set to (both +/- at separate times. done some poached eggs and some steaks and they were as expected.
In love with this! Brilliant value, maintains temp well and has cooked everything how it should be. Worth buying to have such amazing, succulent, soft pork. Best thing I’ve had for ages.

The cooker works fine, it’s efficient and quiet. My only problem is the sous vide process itself. The cooking guidance you can find is inconsistent and thus far lamb, chicken and duck have all come out disgusting. It’s back to traditional methods for me.
First time using a sous vide and I was very pleased at how easy this was to use, it heated the water very quickly and kept it at the correct temperature constatly. The digital display is good and easy to use. Very solid feel to it.
Bought for my son who is a chef. He enjoys using this at home.
Seen here paired with the VPCOK tank, the KEAWEO sous vide device has elevated my cookery to a new level. I’m an experienced cook and have held back from getting into sous vide as I reckoned I was good enough as I was. Well, I wasn’t. Results have surprised me. Turkey breast so succulent that it is still juicy after cooled down. Brisket likewise and if you apply a seasoning rub the meat really absorbs the flavour right through.
The KEAWEO is virtually silent and I was pleasantly surprised to find how quickly it preheated the water in my 12l tank. Judging from the results I’d say the temperature control is accurate as every recipe has turned out perfectly so far.
Wish I had taken the plunge, pun not intended, sooner.
It was quite easy to use. Just make sure the water level is in between the min and max mark, otherwise it will display error.
You can select desired temperature and time. I set it for 55C,1 hr. Didn’t have a thermometer to check for the exact temperature, but I saw a comment saying that there’s a variance of +/- 0.8C, so you might want to adjust that accordingly. Again, I didn’t mind because it is one of the cheaper machines I can find.
The timer worked fine, the machine did stop after 1 hour, although I couldn’t find a button to press start. I guess it just starts counting down automatically after the water is heated up or maybe I just didn’t find the button.
Didn’t buy sous vide container, I just put it in my slow cooker inner container, the water has just managed to go past the min level and worked successfully.
Gave it an overall 4-star where the price was a big part. Not sure how long it will last, but I hope it lasts a decent amount of time
For a household use I say it’s very good, from my point of you even good enough for a small pub kitchen if feeling fancy for it. Good purchase
I recently wrote a review complaining of the time adjustment, which I said would only scroll forward by the minute. I was wrong and apologise. Having since recovered the manual from where I had hidden it from myself, I have learned how to scroll forward by the hour. You just have to hold onto the scroll forward button for longer than I was doing. I also learned that it is possible to switch the temperature control between Fahrenheit and Celsius. This is useful when following recipes using the one or other system – easier than running to Google for a conversion.
So, no more gripes. I love my sous-vide. It is in permanent use.
I’m an ex Chef, but in my day nobody had heard of sous vide cooking. I still love to cook and this enabled me to keep up with the current trend, I say trend but I think it’s safe to say that sous vide is here to stay.
My wife enjoys meats like steak and duck, but they had to be cooked till they were falling apart which lost its character and flavour. With this machine and a vacuum packer I can now produce a meal that is cooked for flavour but is truly melt in the mouth.
If I could I would give it more than 5 stars, if you enjoy cooking and want to produce restaurant quality meals then you should get one.

Bought as a gift for use at home in a small kitchen for a pro fine dining chef. They said it was a decent product and great used with their stock pot. A great space saver as no need for a bulky restaurant style machine and fits into a deep drawer.

Even thought this is the cheapest of the KEAWEO range, I can’t imagine needing anything more. It feels good quality with what look like stainless steel parts. There’s no claim to it being waterproof, so take care not to drop it into the water (water is a good conductor of electricity so it you do drop it into water then unplug the Sous Vide from the mains supply BEFORE putting your hand into the water to take it out. Personally I would be very wary of using it after that until I’d convinced myself it had dried out internally).
The KEAWEO is such an easy machine to use, in my eyes, Brilliant.
Can only change the timer via minutes. So when you want a 24 hour timer etc. Be prepared to be tapping the timer up button for a long time. Wish you could change for hour timer change.
I have to say there is nothing I don’t like about this new gadget. Its so easy to use. I had one small problem when I actually thought it was faulty but a quick chat online and all sorted. Its the best way to cook a steak/fish and leaves very little mess and no strong smells after cooking. Highly recomended.

Used this simple and straightforward sous vide machine for almost everything from chicken to a whole brisket with excellent results.
There are more expensive models available but I went for this one and to be honest I can’t see how it can be any better. Depending on your cuisine it pretty much guarantees an exact temperature. I used it for meat and I don’t think I’ve ever made meat like that before – even my other half was impressed! Highly recommended even if you are a novice cook like me!
