fires headphones in decades
First headphones in decades and i found them comfortable to wear and clear sound. im not a gamer or an audiophile, but for basic usage i do enjoy using them.
The charge lasts for ages, well at least for my usage.
i bought a second pair for my son for gaming and he loves them as they are wireless he has more freedom to move around.
Purchased these on a black friday deal, so it was managble to buy them and im not dissapointed with the quality or the amount of additional cables should i need them
Good value if discounted
Purchased at 99, at this price-point they offer an outstanding value. Good sound quality, microphone is way better than average (people can hear you quite well, filters background noise). The bluetooth feature that allows you to pair it to another device is great and works effortlessly. You can pair it to your phone and listening to other stuff (music, videos, calls) while playing. Perfect if you play with friends across other platforms (as you can use the bluetooth feature to chat on discord, other party chats, etc).
Comfy, sounds great, and compatible with multiple platforms
I picked this one over the 7p+ as it is compatible with PS5, Xbox, and PC. There is a switch on the wireless adaptor to switch from PS5/PC to Xbox (I believe Xbox uses a proprietary system). Having owned the 7p before, the 7X+ is just as comfortable and now charges via USB-C. Battery life is decent lasting several hours before requiring another charge.
Overall, a great option over the official Headsets, especially if you own multiple consoles.
Really good for gaming
I been using for about a year now and i wont ever go back. you need to put on charge every night to make sure you can game entire day after but thats the only downside. there is 0 delay for audio to reach you unlike bluetooth. headset is also very easy to set up. its pretty much plug and play
Highly recommend Steel Series whether that be the arctis 7 or no
If you’re looking for a comfortable and great sounding headset that has a great battery life also then look no further than Steel Series. I couldn’t recommend Steel Series more if I tried they’re the best gaming headset I’ve used and highly recommend them, I’ve often been asked my my friends on PS what headset I was using as the mic quality sounds great so I was told.
Not really for playstatio
To have a fully adjustable headset you need to download the steel series engine – most features are not supported on mac IOS. The headset comes with sidetone set to low as standard and the only way to adjust this is to both update the software and download the engine. Not plug and play but manageable.
Decent headset, one problem…
Headset is decent quality, sound and material. Only downside is the ear cups are abit shallow so can cause pain on your ear after a bit, helps with a hood on but not ideal, saying that you can position them to feel more comfortable.
It's a good heatset, but not quite good enough for me
Looks fantastic with great styling. The headset is quite lightweight and has fits quite lightly around your head without any pressure. As someone with large ears the cups fit over them and the entire fit is really comfortable. This would definitely be comfortable for very long play sessions.
Every time I put the headset on the ear pads make a rustling sound against my head which is quite annoying. It eventually settles down but it doesn’t go away entirely as you inevitably move around, but as you game you stop noticing to an extent. The pads aren’t a faux leather so it looks like the certain type of fabric it to be blame. You could replace them but that’s another 20…
The sounds quality was okay but for me I found it had a sort of tinny effect which really grated at me. No matter which EQ presets I tried it didn’t really seem to change this. Oh and the EQ presets ….. the names make no sense and there’s no explaination for them, you’ll want to check reddit/yt. Also, I found this headset doesn’t have very much bass.
I never got to really put it through its paces but the above issues were enough for me to want to return it, opting for the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max, which I’m very happy with so far.
Fantastic multi platform headse
The SteelSeries 7X+ is a versatile gaming headset that I’ve been using on both my PS5 and Xbox Series S, and it has been an excellent choice. The audio quality is impressive, with clear and immersive sound on both consoles. The comfort and build quality are top-notch, allowing for long gaming sessions without discomfort. The dual wireless connectivity is a huge plus, making it easy to switch between the two consoles. Overall, the SteelSeries 7X+ is a great headset for multi-platform gamers, offering exceptional performance and flexibility.
Pros: Best mic (detachable boom mic) for a wired earbuds, comparable to good quality headphones. The in-line mic is of standard quality, a little worse than the wired apple earbuds.
Sound quality is decent, similar to the wired apple earbuds. With very short delay as this was designed with gaming in mind.
Cons: The over ear hook doesn’t feel comfortable on me, perhaps due to my small ears. It is not pillable enough to fit snugly. It also interferes with my glasses’ legs.
It is less protable than regular earbuds as the semi-rigid hook takes up more space.
Others have complained the boom mic is loose but I haven’t noticed such problem yet.
pleasantly surprised by these, they are light, comfortable and have a very good battery life. The sound has a lot more “treble” than i am used to (coming from razer krakens) so after a bit of EQ faffing with the Sonar software has made it better to listen to, the mic is serviceable but i use a Rode mic so dont really have the use of them i just wanted a decent wireless headset, i did get them on offer for 125 and feel like they are worth that, full price? not so much, would recommend if you are looking for a good wireless headset with decent battery life and half decent sound
Brilliant! Look no further, these are perfection for Gaming & Listening to Audio
I Bought these, after a lot of indecision & procrastination, over the newer model as the reviews for those were a bit “meh”, to free me from the tangle of cable, and to enable fairly swift change from PS5 to PC.
Over what I was using (Hyper X, these were great too), the sound quality is like listening to speakers instead of headphones – by this I mean there is depth (at least while using the Steel Series Sonar App, haven’t tried on PC without).
3D Audio is great on PS5 (haven’t tried on PC yet), only tiny downside there is you’ll need to plug in the included transmitter/receiver dongle, which is hardly a problem. I was a bit dubious, although even the PS5 set up app is pretty clear as to where things are coming from, but in Call of Duty Footsteps, gunfire etc. all seem to be coming from where you’d expect in the 3D environment, rather than just left or right.
Gaming is brilliant, Listening to music just blew me away & prompted me to write this review.
PROs:
Audio Quality, well balanced
7.1 Virtual is awesome
Gaming is great
Music listening is amazing
Sonar App is good,
Head strap adjustment was a doddle
all the controls are sensible size & well positioned
CONs:
not sure if I can connect to iPhone (but don’t really care as I have other devices for that)
a tad expensive, but I don’t mind paying for quality when it delivers.
haven’t come across anything yet that has given cause for concern.
