Really good quality heat gun but it’s a basic kit with just the gun and no nozzles or shields to use with it. Those are available from Steinel but you’ll have to buy them separately. That aside there’s little to complain about here and it’s a good-sized and solidly made gun with most of the features you’d want. There are three different airflow settings but the slowest one is pegged at 80C while the other two can be set between 80C and 630C and there’s a little LED display advising you of the current setting. So the slowest setting is really the gun’s cool-down option although it’s useful for warming-up cables or tubes in a cold setting to give them some flexibility or even for drying-off damp patches.

I wanted one to use for bending acrylic tubes for use in PC cooling setups so I needed a gun that would sit on a bench pointing up and remain stable and this one does that pretty well, although you’ve to be careful where you lay the cord. There’s a little LED on the top that flashes while the nozzle is still hot, so you don’t grab it without realising. It’s noisy but not unbearably so, it does get a bit rattly sometimes as it’s heating up. For my purposes it’s perfect but for paint stripping or more focussed tasks you might miss a set of nozzles. I didn’t know the brand Steinel before but it seems to be excellent quality.

I didn’t know what one of these were until i began renovating but it’s brilliant!
A really impressive little kit that has 3 main heat settings and does the job so effortlessly that it made easy work of removing paint.
I like that it has a heat warning indicator on it aswell so that you know it’s still hot even after you’ve used it and swtiched it off so that you don’t get burnt. It’s really easy once you’ve finished using it to want to pack it all awayso this makes for a great way of knowing when it’s cool enough to be stored.
You can also use this for loads of other things that i didn’t even realise as so far i’ve only used it when decorating but i’m glad i’ve got this multifunctional little gadget packed away for any future projects that it might be needed for!

Being a German brand, your expectations are already set for a high quality piece of kit. Slightly disappointingly, the box contains only the gun itself and no accessories. It would have been nice if there had been a carry-case and perhaps a couple of nozzles. But that aside, nothing else about this item disappoints. The look and feel of the gun is of the highest quality. It feels substantial and robust without being weighty. For simple tasks such as paint stripping, it has all you need. For more intricate tasks such as solvent removal, heat shrinking, etc., the variable heat setting and speed control give you the fine control you need for specialist tasks.

This gun is ideal both for the everyday DIYer who wants a decent piece of kit and for those who have more specific needs. This isn’t a brand I was familiar with before now, but on this experience I’ll happily seek-out more from their range.

I inherited an old heat gun from my dad which looks like it was from the 60s, it worked, but it was always slow to heat up and not always very reliable. So it was time for a modern upgrade.

This is a fantastic bit of kit you have the choice between high, medium, low airflow and the heat can be adjusted easily via a flick of the joystick. The digital display of the temperature is a really good feature and is nice and clear. There’s also a heat indicator on the top.

The heat gun can be sat down nice and stable with the nozzle pointing up if you need to put it down for a minute to move things.

I mainly use heat guns for freeing up stuck bearings or mechanically stuck machinery. Blowtorches can often cause cold metal to crack whereas a heat gun is a bit more gentle and safe. I used the gun on a bearing for a golf trolley wheel that was stuck solid and after 5-10 minutes it freed up easily, much easier when i did the same job with the old gun.

The air blow rate and heat both seem consistant, and with a 3 year warranty this should last a while.

Consistant reliable heat gun with easy adjustme

Superb, I use this gun for heating wood before bending. It’s GREAT.
