We really like this cooler a lot. Purchased it for shorter trips or fishing days, but I use it most to chill wine to taste bars and restaurants! Treat yourself!
It’s a good sturdy cool box it does keep cool for few days but maybe not quite as long as I expected.
For the price its perfect and it’s so sturdy.
I was camping in the hottest weather this year and after three days we still had ice in the cooler and ice cold drinks. Highly recommend.
It’s very sturdy, you don’t need to worry about taking good care of it, it can take care of itself. 19L however is not a lot of space, so I found about 2KG of icecubes and 1pt milk and 4 cans of beer filled it totally. The great thing is that is stays so cold that I was able to add at least another 20 cans over a long weekend and chill them with plenty of ice remaining. The key preparation to undertake is to cool everything you will pack but also cool the interior before you use it. So, 6+ hours before you leave, load it up with a few ice packs (which you won’t be taking) to pre-cool the interior. This way when you load it for travel your ice or cool packs keep the temperature maintained rather than cooling the interior. 3x2kg bags of ice stayed at least 60% icecubes after 3 days in 30C heat this way for me with plenty of cans going in for chilling. For the price I can’t recommend enough.
Heavy and robust. Have used it a couple of times at events with bags of ice in to keep drinks chilled. Ice lasted about a day which was adequate but the 3 day claim they make is absolute tosh.
I bought this to use during hurricane season when the power goes out that I could pack my food in there and it keeps everything very cold. It’s a perfect size to keep in the house when needed
This cooler works great. Use it for team runs, hold plenty of food and keeps it cold throughout. Just remember the key to maintaining temperature is prechilling the cooler. No complaints thus far, will getting additional accessories to follow along with the basket and net for the lid.
This cooler really does keep the ice frozen and your beverages cold all day. I work outside in hot temperatures, but my water is always cold and Refreshing as the day goes on, and I didn’t have to spend the price of a Yeti.
I have had nothing but good luck with Amazon brand products from light bulbs to this cooler. It appears to be solid and high quality. I expect it to last for many years.
It’s built like a tank. I don’t see a yeti being any better. Sits in my hot work truck all day long. I put maybe a pound of ice in it in the morning. My drinks are still ice cold end of day. Perfect for what I need. No doubt ice would last for days in this thing if I put more in it.
Nice cooler……Exceeds my expectations…….I have a Coleman that is a 54 qt and I got this 20 quart and the 20 qt is nearly as long as my 54 qt Coleman……the difference is how thick the 20 qt is on the sides….wow
I was reluctant to spend so much money on a cooler! I was hoping this would do as advertised and it did!
We camp quite a bit and one of our biggest problems is keeping food and beverages cold. If you are 10 miles from fresh ice, you’re looking at twenty minutes (or more)round trip to restock. That’s gas money, time and the cost of ice! I’d rather stay put when enjoying my down time.
This cooler has saved me time as well as gas and ice money. Simple as that. The last time I used it was 4th of July weekend in eastern NC.
Precooled the cooler with frozen water bottles overnight then packed it in the morning with refrigerated items ( Saturday morning).
The cooler stayed in the back of my vehicle for four days and kept all my items cold until Wednesday!
The ice DID melt over 48 hours, but the items stayed ice cold throughout the 4 days. For the cost of a $2.89 bag of ice (and the cooler cost of course), that’s hard to beat.
I’ve not had this cooler long enough to get my money out of it, but from my experience so far I’m expecting it to.
Keeps things cold for a long time. Best cooler I’ve ever owned. It’s smaller than you would think so double check dimensions. Good little cooler that will last a long long time.
We love this cooler! We were looking at yeti’s and could not wrap our heads around the price, we just couldn’t justify it. We came across this brand about a year ago, although it wasn’t branded under Amazon at the time, and it was so great that we bought the smaller one for taking when we go for a quick day trip. We are hoping it’s just as good! The larger one keeps ice for days. It has a tight seal! I have family that have Yeti’s and these are just as as good. My son who has a Yeti and this one (I bought him one) said he likes this one better! They look nice too! The only negative thing I can say is that the price went up significantly from when I bought the first one and the one I bought my son a couple months later.
It’s crazy how expensive these coolers are but it is worth it. I think I probably would have ordered one that is slightly larger to go down to Florida and pack it up with a lot of things from my fridge here. Packed correctly and tightly, the food does stay frozen for 48 hours as we stopped overnight on our trip down south. I did have some ice packed int there too. We did pack it up to return but it was not packed as tightly & the meat did thaw out.
Lesson learned. Decent cooler.
I bought the 20q superhandy, I’m impressed, keeps ice easily for 48 hours and that’s opening it often searching for your drink of choice… it is made in China…., but it holds ice better than my 30q pelican. Maybe I’m not pre chilling the pelican enough? Idk? The price is right, when I first received it the lid actually felt like opening your freezer.. had a great seal! Now after you have a chilled or are using it. It really seals! My pelican doesn’t seal this well. Hope this helps.
I was a skeptical but I was happily proven wrong. This cooler is as good as any roto-molded cooler out there. Keeps ice for days when done properly. The cheesy sticker was easily removed and replaced with a sticker of my choice.
Fits just right in my truck and kayak. I’ll be getting another one of these!
I live in a travel trailer because my wife travels for work, so we don’t have a lot of freezer space in our home. I ordered this cooler to Only store ice. My ice will keep up to 4 days. Keeps cool! Love this cooler <3
Amazing cooler. I’ve only tested it twice but it definitely keeps ice for a long time. I’ve done 3-day camping trips with it so far and the ice holds incredibly well, keeps our food and beer cold even when left out in the sun (it’s spring time in CO so it doesn’t get too hot anyways). I can confidently say that by the 3rd day I still have 80-90% ice, left the ice in the bag and just stacked our food on top. Again not in extremely hot conditions though.
I do like the look and by far better than my old cooler as you can see in the picture. Seems sturdy, banged it on some rocks, logs, and just generally in my jeep and has barely made a scratch. Ruler on top is nice to measure fish and it makes a great little side table to hold beer or if you just need a flat surface. It’s not the biggest cooler, but compared to other 20QT’s you just can’t beat it for the price. They also updated their logo and makes it look so much better than the older models. I’ll be doing longer trips down in the desert so I’ll edit this post then, but so far so good. Highly recommended!
I snagged this cooler when it was on sale for $60ish. It came with a redesigned logo that was much more sleek than the previous, but still seemed easy to remove. Held ice for 3 days in 100 degrees heat index. Highly recommend.
Bought this cooler and some 8 foot straps to put on the front of my ATV. Works great! Keeps drinks very cold while out riding around. Very durable cooler and a lot less expensive than other rotomolded coolers I looked at that were of similar size. Really hard to beat the value of this thing. Well done, SuperHandy!
Haven’t used for long days, or really hot weather. Used for groceries, put ice packs in, couple hours later open, feels like freezer air comming out. Load, few hours later at home, freezer air cold. 80 temp outside. Awsome. Impressed so far. Down side, unit a little heavy.
I sure don’t need to worry about this cooler blowing away ! This thing is built hell bent for strong ! My Grear Great Grandchildren will be using it !! I am i bit curious what happened to the 15% off though ?
I used this as a sort of portable -80C freezer for storing biological samples (insects) by keeping it packed with dry ice. I was driving around the southwest USA in mid August, so daytime temperatures often exceeded 110F and the cooler was often in the back of my truck throughout the day.
It worked great. 10-15lb of dry ice was sufficient to keep internal temp below -50C for 24 hours or more. The cooler has both a drainage plug and a gas release plug higher up on the box: this was a handy feature for my application as it lets the gas from the sublimating dry ice escape from the top of the cooler rather than the bottom (as frozen material was packed beneath the dry ice, it was nice not to have the drainage plug act as a vent), and the amount of venting could be adjusted by tightening the plug.
Quality of construction seems fine, at least after two weeks of heavy use with dry ice.
I purchased this during a lighting deal and wish I would have bought a second one at that price! This is very comparable to a Yeti. Just like a Yeti, we always make sure to pre-cool it – that is a must. It is sturdy and well built.
It’s trying it’s best in this August sun. If you have a option to put it in the shade it works 50% better. I’m also located in Florida. The handle is worth the $100, it is strong and floating around in a bed of the worktruck.
Let me start this review by saying I’ve tried several high end coolers including Yeti Roadie 20, Lifetime 28, and Ozark Trail 26 (Walmart brand). This cooler holds ice longer than all of them… no exaggeration. I threw 6 frozen 12oz water bottles in the cooler with no pre-chill and kept the cooler in my hot 90+ degree hatchback all week at work. The bottles stayed frozen for 4 days… that’s impressive with no pre-chill! I think I could get 5+ days with a good pre-chill. The cooler is also fully air tight and does not leak. It’s very durable as well.
The only complaints I have is the khaki color… I would prefer white, or a light gray. And also the “Super Handy” logo is kind of an eye sore. Fortunately it was easy to remove and replace with a sticker of my own. Still, for the price I paid on “lightning deal” this thing is a steal!
So I’m a general contractor and don’t have access to a fridge on job sites. I had a standard lunchbox but by the end of the day (especially in summer) the ice packs are melted and food is barely cold. So I got this because I couldn’t justify spending $300 on a big brand one when these are essentially the exact same thing. Well, this thing is amazing. I have two bigger ice packs and a smaller one and I was able to just leave them in there three days and by the end of the third day there was still ice in the larger packs. That’s with me opening up the cooler several times throughout the day in a warm house. The other thing I REALLY like about this is that I use it as a seat when I take a break. So that’s a huge plus. The handle is very solid and not loose in anyways. The latches ti close the lid are also solid and don’t feel cheap. It latches and seals the inside very well. One thing to keep in mind is that the thing is the same inner size as my old lunch box but probably almost double the exterior size. I knew that when I bought and you can’t knock a star for that. It’s the whole point of these types of coolers having several inches of insulation. So it’s a lot bigger outside than what the inside is. So far I’ve got no complaints and I’ve had it for a couple weeks.
