Very good mouse that fits the hand perfectly. DPIs are good and overall usage is very nice.
Put in good batteries and it will last for long (bought in 08/22 and change batteries once in December but I was using this mouse a lot)
Unfortunately as many reviews before I bought it and after I bought it confirm – just stopped working. I think it is a receiver not mouse because mouse reacts on on/off while receiver is not recognised by any PC or laptop.
Would give 5 for value for money but giving 3 for short life span.
Company reached out and for customer service they deserve better.
I have blasted Tecknet (see below) for a good that was not up to their specification, however, I must also give credit where it is due. Tecknet contacted me and offered a replacement, which I accepted, and which arrived in 3 days, I thank them for that, customer care was excellant. I hope with a myriad of competative products on the market they can work to ensure the fault, process or product, has been rectified for the future as when it worked, the mouse was the quality and standard I wanted and expected. Thank you.
Mouse worked fine for a while, bought it 23 May 22, it is now 26 Jan 23. 30 month long battery life stated in the product, no, 90 days maybe. Changed the batteries a few times then yesterday it just stopped working. I changed the batteries again, still did not work, I changed them for a new batch, still did not work. The red scan light flashed on for a millisecond then went off.
36 Months Warranty(Registered Only) – who registers a product costing around 12? I expect it to last at least 1/3 of its possible life. Maybe the company are happy knowing their product does not fit their specifications and are happy in that the majority, because of the price, throw it away and buy another.
You have been warned – TECKNET if you want to respond I’m here, but I doubt it very much.
Pointless peice of tech if it does not last. It does not have that many moving parts and none that should affect it’s on and off ability. Wasted my money please do not waste yours. I now have to buy another and use my little laptop mouse which is not fit for the purpose on my PC.
Cheap nasty tech that does not meet specification.
It is quick enough to use as a gaming mouse.
only for laptop use. Looks good and prompt delivery the next day. Very pleased
Work fine for my work purpose, comfort in the palm
Great mouse ,well made ,very ergonomic ,good price ,far better than my last one ,very pleased .
Comfortable, responsive and easy to use. Bought a few tecknet items in the past and they’ve all been good quality
Easy to install and to use.
This mouse is precise and looks good
Feels comfortable, even in big hands.
Batteries last well.
Turns off automatically after about 10 mins of no use but wakes on button click.
Very easy to install.
Accurate movement and you don’t end up clicking buttons accidentally
I connected the USB receiver, and it started working as expected; let’s hope it continues that way.
good product maybe a bot on the big side but I am pleased for it.
Very light and small mouse. Surprisingly doesn’t get stuck on the screen or lag at all compared to more expensive ones I’ve bought on here.
The mouse has been received intact and it looks fine. So far, it is working fine.
This is a really good mouse for this price point. Works well, comfortable to use and batterys last a decent amount of time.
I liked the product as it served the purpose. No wire connections makes it easy to handle
It’s a good, basic wireless mouse, comfortable in use and easy to setup. What’s not to like!
I have been using this mouse constantly for over 2 months now and it still performs as though its fresh out of the box. I’m still using the supplied batteries and have yet to see any issues.
It is very comfortable to hold in the palm.
does not tire the wris
My old mouse was lagging. Not this one…don’t know about gaming but the side click button is a nice bonus.
This is my second mouse from Tecknet. It fits perfectly in my palm and all the buttons are very useful. Good quality.
Exactly as described. Sits comfortably in my hand. Clicking is a bit loud but I soon got used to it. Very responsive and smooth to use.
I do not use it for gaming so cannot comment on tha
As of writing this review I’ve been using this for about a week or maybe two, and I’m pretty satisfied with its performance.
I wasn’t expecting anything game changing and well… its nothing game changing. Its a solid little wireless mouse that is maybe a bit too chonky for school work and portability, but at least it sits well in the hand.
The best option for moving it around is keeping its original box, so it doesn’t get damaged in your backpack/purse or wherever you keep it.
It’s definitely no gaming mouse, I can tell you that, though the adjustable DPI is a nice feature. It’s good enough for some casual minecraft or unturned, but nothing competative since, there is a tiny little but still noticable delay, to the input. Like you move it and the cursor moves just a tad bit after. (At least that’s what I feel when using it, tho it may be just me.)
Far more convenient than a wired mouse. I can select films on the PC and select YouTube videos whilst sat on an armchair. It goes to sleep after a short while so battery life should be good.
Been using for a few months, great mouse, I like that the USB is small so doesn’t stick out when in use and also has a slot in the mouse to store when not in use.
3200 DPI is great!! little too fast but you can adjust the DPI to any other one by the top button.suitable for teen and adults hand.i recommend this item
Nice design slightly bigger than others. Like the usb connector can be kept on the inside of back cap where batteries are so when I don’t use I can keep it safely. Good and thoughtfully desig
When purchasing I just wanted a cheap mouse that works, and this is honestly great, it also has sleep mode which is nice for when you’re not using it and it quickly turns back on after a click.
In use on a HP 15-db009ng with openSUSE Leap 15.3 and Windows 10. The transceiver only works reliably when connected via USB 3.0 port (hence only 4 stars). Since this laptop only has 2 such ports this is not optimal. I would rather use the single usb 2.0 port leaving both USB 3.0 ports free. It is understood that this product is not officially supported for use with LINUX but so far I have found problems with neither openSUSE Leap 15.3 nor Ubuntu MATE 20.04. Mouse clicks are initially a little louder than my previous MS Intellimouse Explorer (corded) but after a while this becomes less noticeable. In summary, although not perfect, this seems to be the best value for money mouse in this category with limitations.
Fits in hand well buttons all work as they should. I do not use a a mouse mat. and tracks well on a table top well. Just goes to sleep too quickly, Gaming can become issue. due to waiting to game to load all members start game and No mouse. Just click button to wake it up can fire weapon giving away position. be nice if they doubled the amount of time. Do not think will hurt battery life too much with it’s two AA batterys needed? most only need one. but with said adds nice weight too i
Very easy to set up, I just added the AA batteries, switched the unit on, then plugged the USB receiver into the back of my PC and it was good to go. I just needed to adjust the DPI/speed of the cursor to its lowest setting (for my needs) and I have been very happy with the operation of the mouse. The only thing I found strange at first, is that the forward & back buttons are both on the same side of the mouse, where as on my old mouse they were on opposite sides of the mouse body.
I like having the USB receiver plugged into the back of the PC, it means there is nothing on my desktop workspace. You don’t need to switch the unit off altogether when you have finished working on your PC; as the mouse just goes to sleep, so saving battery power, then to wake up the mouse I just give the unit a shake and press the left click button.
Pleasantly surprised by this mouse. Cant say how long the battery’s lasts but haven’t had to replace them yet (after a month of use, for a couple of hours most days). It feels almost as good as my razer deathadder which is amazing to me for such a cheap mouse.
This it a very well designed mouse ergonomically, its a gaming mouse that you can increase or decrease its dpi, which is very useful.
If there is any down side to this Tecknet mouse, its the size, its large, and the weight comes in at approx 127g, as opposed to my standard Logitech 235 mouse at 91g, and my ET gaming mouse at 94g, all weighed with quality Varta AA installed.
Its the requirement of 2 x AA batteries that make this mouse heavy, its 3v and not the usual 1.5v single AA.
Hope this helps.
Very ergonomic and comfortable. Quality materials and finish. Back and forward side buttons not easy to press accidentally which is good. Variety DPI button. Scroll/button and standards left right buttons. Doesn’t include batteries, 2x AA. Included Bluetooth do gbi under battery cover. Happy with the quality. Cannot comment on batteries longevity yet.
It fits so perfectly in your hand, slides over surface easily and is the best mouse for the price full stop. I use it everyday all day, this is my second one after the first started to wear out (after 3 years continuous use!) so went for the same again. Absolutely perfec
Simple and practical. Normal sized. Needs a couple of AA batteries, not supplied. Apart from that it works straight out of the box. The dongle does not come separately as shown. You will find it slotted inside the battery compartment. I bought the grey mouse since it was the cheapest colour. It’s black at the sides and dark grey on top, and it looks smart.
Great little mouse for the price, batteries seem to last a good while, turns itself off to save power but one click and its straight back on and its very responsive. Comfy in the hand, its a good weight feels good quality not cheap and flimsy, has better sensitivity adjustment than my last one, does the job brilliantly. Only knocked a star off as it has a really loud click when you click the buttons, a lot louder than my last one, gets a little irritating after a while when you’re gaming and very annoying for anyone else who is in the room, however for the price this is a minor issue, I’m very pleased with it.
Fantastic cordless mouse, which has sleep mode, it’s comfortable in your hand, i like the buttons which you can press at the side to go back on your pages or forward, but I do suggest to use a mat for it, overall perfect so far, don’t forgot your need two AA batteries also your USB receiver is inside the battery compartment of which I didn’t know as first and almost sent back to amazon as I thought it was missing but overall great for the money.
Ergonomic, nice to hold, works a treat with the games.
Cannot apply battery life at present because just started to use it.
On/off switch underneath, the 2.4ghz adapter is confined in the battery compartment, easily removed to plug in laptop or pc USB port.
I was having trouble using the laptop touch pad then my computer chap told me about a wireless computer mouse that I could use and have more control over. So there and then we ordered one and I haven’t looked back. Makes life so much easier for me now. I just took the do-da from the underside of the mouse and plugged it into an empty one on the laptop, followed a few instructions and away I went. Good little mousy!
It feels comfortable and moves smoothly, buttons have a positive click. The clicks are quite audible but it has not been a big issue. My previous mouse, different brand, went wrong just out of warranty so we have a way to go to see how this holds up, but so far so good
Works perfectly fine but I think the distance factor is not quite there.
This product comes boxed in a single cardboard box and 1 layer of bubble wrap making it easy to unwrap and use. It also uses 2 AA batteries.
The mouse feels great, you can change the sensitivity and there are side buttons to hog forward and backwards. In addition to this, the fact that it is wireless is a massive bonus.
A massive bonus of this mouse is the sleep feature. If you don’t use it for a few minutes it goes into sleep mode and all you have to do to turn it back on is press any button! A great way to save battery and avoids the hassle of constantly turn it on and off with a switch.
I chose the black colour and was expecting to see a matt black finish but instead it turned out to be a shiny black which leaves fingerprint marks every time you touch it which doesn’t make the mouse look as attractive.
Other than this issue I have nothing to complain about, it’s comfortable, long-lasting and high quality.
It’s also good for gaming as the sensitivity can be adjusted and it has a DPI button.
In conclusion I would this mouse but I wouldn’t recommend choosing the black colour unless you don’t mind it being covered in fingerprint marks as it’s an absolute fingerprint magnet!
I ordered this for work to replace a broken one. I have a really good gaming one so just wanted something cheap and functional for day-to-day at work. After a week of using it I’m really happy with it. It’s comfortable, light weight turns off if left unused. Looking back, I’d happily buy it agai
Bought to replace a similar mouse which had failed.
Slotted in and works fine. Comfortable to hold and manipulate. No complaints here.
Can’t comment on battery life yet. It does switch itself off when unused for a period or when it’s not chatting to the receiver when the PC shuts down, so should be reasonable.
One of the selection criteria was to be bigger than many other basic mice. The result, it works very well in my (not very small) hands. A little bit of asymmetry in the design too, hump is bigger on its left side, which I think makes for a better hand position, coupled with the size it means less overexertion and fatigue over time.
Basically a cheaper knock-off of the Logitech M705 but still more than satisfactory. Huge advancement over any touchpad or trackpoint. I don’t want any better for everyday basic mousing, browsing, photo editing and marching the cursor over zoom faces.
Top button sets the scanning resolution, the effect is visible: cursor moves smoother but slower. There are 2 more buttons under your right thumb, I don’t use those usually. Mouse wheel has a soft click, it’s not free-turning.
Never tried gaming, I wouldn’t expect much.
I like how sleep mode and energy saving is solved on this model: sleeps quite easily and have to push a button to wake it up (happens quickly), but it never wakes the computer when it’s also asleep. Very polite mouse.
Goes easy on batteries too: don’t remember when I put my half-full AAs in, must be about a year now, only recently started a green LED flashing to indicate low but still goes fine.
Nice surprise, it never flashes in your eyes if you look at the bottom for whatever reason (e.g. turning it off – there’s a switch), not saying you should though.
I took a break from using it because previously it was in a corner heavy of EM interference (WiFi router) and it basically stopped working. Could have happened with any 2.4GHz mouse I suppose. But when I picked up again for working from home, I was glad I did.
I originally said “This mouse is supposed to have Smart Sleep mode to save battery life. IT DOES NOT. The previous TECKNET M002 2.4G Classic Wireless Mouse I bought in November 2020 did.”
However, this mouse DOES— it just takes 10minutes to time out while the earlier one timed out in 2 minutes.
Everything else about this mouse is great which is why I reordered a new one and am upgrading from 1 to 5 stars
It’s cheap feeling, a little sharp on the edges if you were to be holding it for hours of gaming, I have this hooked up to my media PC as a mouse so I can have it wirelessly next to my remote control for the projector, the range isn’t amazing on the receiver but what you gonna do, it’s cheap and it does work fine. But that’s about it… it’s “fine”
Ok WFH is a thing now, right. I have found that I get pains around my right shoulder blade from using the crappy laptop mouse pad. And the only other mouse I had was this tiny little travel mouse that I had to use my fingertips to operate. That actually gave me more, different pains up my arm. It rattled around, didn’t even sit flat and wasn’t b responsive/accurate despite being wired.
Well, this one is a world apart and sits nicely in my bigger hands. It does make a bit of a click noise but I’m working alone so not an issue. Feels nice, moves nicely, solid, connects well, plenty of speed settings. My arm/shoulder feels better for my hand being in the right place and on a proper mouse. Should have bought this a year ago!
Bought for a laptop so I could stop using the built-in touchpad.
Is comfortable in the hand and great for general ‘mousing’ duties, not sure how it would be for gaming as I’ve always intentionally used a cabled mouse for that kind of thing.
Be careful switching it on when it’s upside down as the laser flashes very brightly straight in your eyes if you’re looking at the switch. It has caught me out twice so felt it was worth mentioning, and it’s the only reason for it getting 4 stars.
I originally bought one of these for my tablet quite a few years ago. This is the one on the left in the video. It is good in most areas, other than the scroll wheel squeaks often at times. Though it wouldn’t at the time I did the video. It does however still have a problem in that the scroll wheel is loose and wobbles side to side as you can hear in the rattle. Annoying when doing sudden mouse movements. The left click also feels like it has a partial click before you actually click activate it. It is just slightly loose, but this isn’t too much of a problem.
Thinking these were just flaws with this as a one off, I bought another for my PC some years later (about a month back at the time of this review). I will start off with the improvements. The buttons on the side stick out further and are less effort to press and have a more satisfying click. The right and left click although sounding a little different felt fine to use. The negative differences were obvious though. The scroll wheel is so noisy compared! It doesn’t squeak but it doesn’t click smoothly or quietly. And depending on what position it is left in, the mouse can rattle incredibly badly even when doing gentle changes of direction when not touching the wheel. Yet another negative is that the sensor underneath makes the mouse move quite a lot to the left when lifted to adjust your hand. The old one did this, but not to this extent. The scroll wheel was so rattly on this that I asked for a replacement, and did get very quickly.
This one had a perfect scroll wheel. The mouse won’t rattle no matter how vigorously you shake it. The sensor is also better although still tracks a bit too far off the mouse mat for my liking compared to the old one. The side buttons are also good on this, but then comes the problem with this one too. The clicks sound so different and the right click is the loudest I’ve heard from any mouse. I did a modification as the picture shows and that is the mouse that I’ve been using for the past month or so. The other slight issue this one has is that the right click isn’t flush with the darker plastic edge. It overhangs a bit and that feels pretty sharp to the touch, but I can accept this for the price.
It is a real shame that the quality control is so bad. These mice are all the exact same product and the scroll wheel is different on all of them as well as the feedback of the buttons.
In terms of design, it is almost as comfortable as the logitech M705, and other than the lack of a freewheel/ratchet and sideways click scroll wheel, this is basically the same as the M705 in terms of shape. Just slightly less right hand oriented. The height, width and length is pretty much identical. It lacks the rubbery fell and just has soft touch plastic, but for 20 — 25%% of the cost, I think that is acceptable.
The fact they are all differ in different areas is just frustrating as it proves the brand is capable of making every part correctly, but I haven’t been lucky enough to get one. The reason why I give it 4 stars is because there is a chance that you could get one with everything correct. And in that case, it really is great value.
A few other notes about the mouse:
I do like that it takes 2AA batteries. It lasts for ages. Nearly 2 years with decent alkaline batteries. It is rather back heavy, but I find the shape good enough not to lose grip of it when lifting.
One annoying area is the 5 minute sleep function. It wakes up by any button or the scroll wheel clicks, but why can’t just moving it wake it up? Logitech managed this with their mice fine. With this, you just need to get used to always clicking a button to wake it. Can be annoying at times.
The modification I did on the latest one is enough to put up with it, but I’m still looking for another better mouse. I added some electrical tape and applied a bit to either side to stop the buttons springing up so far and being so loud. But I really would be happy with this model of mouse if you could get one that has been put together well, which in my case seems hard to get.
Good mouse that’s does the job. Loses a star for how the mouse needs a click to wake the connection after a while. This is probably a battery saving feature but i didn’t need to do this for my previous wireless Logitech mouse (that I appreciate costs more than twice the price of this one). Those extra clicks can make a difference when you’re using it regularly.
works fine, not had any problems since I bought it. a month ago
on/off switch, so you can switch the mouse off to save the battery,
it also seems to have a sleep mode, simple click to get it going again
for under a 10 its a good mouse.
only wish they’d make one that for left handed folk – but nothing wrong with the produc
After reading some of the reviews, I was apprehensive on buying this. But I’m glad I did
It functions perfectly, as its described. The sleep mode kicks in when it should. The battery lasts as it should, even though alot of reviews said otherwise. I think the negative reviews on here had a dodgy one and should replace it. Rather than wine on here
I use mine for gaming and hasn’t missed a DPi
It’s a cheap mouse, about 1/4 of the price of my MX, brought for my wife whose MS Sculpt kept not responding. She uses it for design work but only really for navigating the software rather than the illustration part as she has a tablet for that bit. The mouse looks decent but the weight and feel reflect the price tag – although it’s still on par with the mouse that came with my MS keyboard set. The usage side of it seems fit for purpose though. Plugged in the dongle for W10 and it found it instantly. It’s very responsive, tracks well and is accurate. It was brought as a stop gap until we could get into a store (lockdown woes) and try them out but it seems she is really happy with it and best of all it’s red which tells you more about my wife than the mouse.
Totally supassed my expectations, performed flawlessly and tracks well over a variety of surfaces including a black fleece blanket that my last mouse refused to work on at all.
Construction does feel a little cheap, the scroll wheel rattles a bit, but it fits the hand well and works great.
Unbeleivable value for money.
I really like the style and feel of the mouse, purchased as i was starting to have aches in my hand. Really good mouse, i just have one issue. The scroller doesn’t work with the laptop i’m using, although the OS is windows 10 home. Any idea on how i can sort this, or perhaps obtain a replacement.
I would have given the product a 5 star, however i think my only issue was the scrolling which is convenient feature, i regret mine does not work.
Love the size of this mouse, its as near to the cup size of my large hand which is fantastic. Its great for engineering, admin related stuff online, and writing tasks. I cannot say it would be great for gaming even though responsiveness can be improved vie the button on top. I hear there are specialist mouses for gamers that are worth investing in, but this would certainly work as a backup for gamers. For Engineers, Writers, Business types, its a top notch buy for what it does! I bought a second for a backup and at a good price too.
After 3 tries on different computers and two different sets of batteries I was about to post this back as not working. Then it suddenly just fired up and has worked perfect since. It is only a few days into using it, but so far it has worked perfect and sleep mode will obviously save the batteries. A quick press of the button on top and we are ready to go again. Excellent product so far…
This mouse worked immediately after I inserted the batteries and plugged the nano-receiver into the USB port. The button on the mouse for varying the DPI setting (i.e. the speed with which the pointer moves across the screen relative to mouse movement) is handy, but frankly the default setting of 1200 is perfect for most tasks. I like the way it conserves battery life by putting itself to sleep, but haven’t had it long enough to evaluate the effect.
It feels comfortable in my hand and the screen pointer moves smoothly and positively. The back and forward buttons are a new and useful experience and the scroll wheel is better than on my previous mouse.
I was surprised by this mouse, it is good in the hand, or actually in the paw, because if you are 190 cm tall, these are not small hands anymore. I do not play so I do not rate it as a gaming mouse, but it works with other programs. The sleep option works great, accidental knocking does not wake her up, which is a plus, you can move her and she still sleeps. When I work with a graphic tablet and a mouse at the same time, don’t panic that I rearrange something because I moved the mouse. Only what, it requires a good mousepad, sometimes the sensor can lose weight on something that is not a good mousepad.
Been using the mouse for a few weeks and very happy with it. It feels good to use, has a good weight behind it and good grip on the wheel. I like how you can adjust the mouse pointer by using the button on the top of the mouse. Also it is always a good feature to have the physical on/off button underneath to ensure you are saving battery when not in use. The mouse seems to go idle after a few minutes of no movement and comes back to life straight away when you click a button.
I am still getting used to doing away with my old wired mouse and enjoying the wireless freedom. I had to change the power settings on my PC so that the mouse does not wake it just as it goes into sleep mode and I turn the mouse over to switch it off. I also haven’t got used to clicking the mouse to weaken it from its sleep after a few minutes idleness.
The shape is good for me (right handed) but I have been known to use my left hand after getting RSI in my right. Can’t do it with this mouse though. The rubber grip on the left (thumb) side is just a bit slippery and not as grippy as my old plastic relative.
This is the second one that we have bought, the first one was for my son and he was very happy with it so my daughter asked for one. It works as expected and sits comfortably in the hand. I have rheumatoid arthritis and smaller mouses are uncomfortable to grip, but this is large and comfortable enough that that isn’t a problem. The price is great and it arrived economically but well packaged as quickly as expected.
Brilliant piece of pc kit its so responsive and ergonomic in my hand and I cannot say enough how much I am glad I purchased it, Brilliant if its not in use turns itself into sleep mode until its moved the bluetooth connection is fantastic, it was so so easy to set up, and the dpi is also very handy especially with game play.
Bought this about a year ago so I know how good it is to handle and use. Not a single problem so far.I dont think I have even changed the battery in a year coz it switches itself off if not in use for a minute or so.I use it a lot so it has been an excellent buy. If it stops working I would buy it again but It seems pretty unbreakable and very easy to use.
So far so good. Been using this for a couple of days, very quick, feels nice in the hand. Would definitely recommend. Btw… The usb is IN the mouse near the battery which they don’t explain very well.
A nifty little mouse and would highly recommend for the price. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme so I wanted a good fast mouse that would last and match the speed etc. Very happy.
One con… Goes asleep quite easily and need to roll ckokcer to wake up. But everything else is perfect.
I LOVE THIS MOUSE. It’s my second mouse, because I lost the USB dongle for my first one (my own fault). I didn’t hesitate about ordering a new one, even with more recent mice available. I just love the way it fits my hand. Even my gamer bf said it feels so much better than his 100 mouse. The material feels nice. It glides nicely and I never have connections issues. The sleep mode works SO well, I didn’t have to replace my batteries for a good year or so at uni which is amazing! It’s easy to put the dongle in the base of the mouse and travel with it. I will say that I’d like to customise the buttons a bit more, so gamers might need something a bit more suitable.
I’ve used this mouse for office work daily as well as for gaming. Can’t say I’ve played many shooters with it but accuracy wise, I’ve not had too many odd moments. Sometimes the cursor did zip around a little too much but nothing worse than any other optical mouse I’ve had previously.
I’m writing this review now because it’s started flashing which I assume means it’s ready for new batteries. These 2x AA’s lasted 9 whole months. That’s probably because it does go to sleep mode quite quick, maybe around 5 minutes. But one click and you’re back in.
Sits very comfortably in the hand and fantastic to be wire free at last – makes so much diffrence not dragging teh wir earound on the desk top every time you move the mouse. The side buttons are really usefull when navigating the web and the abilty to change the pointer speed with one button is super.
Am ordering another for my wife.
I’ve had this mouse for a while now, it’s still going strong.
I use it with my laptop when I’m on the go, but in recent times (thanks 2020) it’s become my daily mouse as I’m working from home.
It’s solid, looks tidy (it doesn’t have the usual Tecknet OTT gaming patterns on it), the battery lasts for ages and it’s got the 2 extra thumb buttons.
The only issue I have, which I’ve only recently noticed, is it’s a bit small, it doesn’t support my hand so my wrist rubs on the desk.
I’ve bought a wrist rest to get around it (I’d rather do that than replace the mouse)
So for every day use, I’d say get something bigger, but as a travel mouse or just something you don’t use for 8 hours a day, it’s brillia
I had been using this gaming mouse for several months when I took delivery of a new laptop. This came with a wired gaming mouse. The supplied mouse was good, but I found the buttons too sensitive and using a wired mouse with the laptop was not that easy. So I bought a second Tecknet M002 wireless mouse as I hve been more than satisfied with its performance on my desktop. The auto sleep mode mode very well and a simple click of a button wakes it up. It is comfortable to hold and use and easy to change the resolution. Highly recommended!
So like many of us, I am working from home full time because of COVID and probably will be in the future especially as i work in IT. I needed a new mouse.
I read up many ‘BEST MOUSE’ forums and eventually came by this mouse, which was not in anyone’s top 10, however it was one of the most purchased mouse’s on Amazon and had a high rating and feedback rate. I liked the shape as I wanted the mouse to fit in my hand comfortably and I liked the ergonomic shape for the thumb.
I don’t use the buttons on the side and they do not get in the way of my thumb, I like the ease of use and basic plug and play. If you press the button on top of the mouse, this allows you yo control the speed of the mouse so I like that variable is available.
Also the mouse switches itself off after some time if it is unused to preserve the battery.
For the price, it is a brilliant mouse so far.
I’m reviewing this mouse four years after I bought it – great little mouse and has lasted well all this time. After 4 years some of the paint has worn away and I’m having to buy a new one as the left click has gone a bit dodgy – sometimes I have to press really hard to get it to work, other times it does a double click when I only press once. I think 4 years of use is pretty good for the price though, so I will be repurchasing.
I had one of these Tecknet wireless mouse at work and have had used this at work without any issues for several years.
However, as I am now working from home due to the latest pandemic, I was looking to have a similar quality mouse at home. Thinking all wireless mouse would do the same job, I went ahead and bought a Kinobo from Amazon but that turned out to be an unwise move as the accuracy of tracking was poor. I then used a Wacom Wireless mouse but that didnt fare too well either. Realising now that all wireless mouse are not created equal, I went ahead and bought the Tecknet wireless mouse and its performance has been as it was at work – Absolutely Brilliant!
Tested on ubuntu 16.04 review only – literally plug in the micro receiver into a usb port (tried usb 2.0) and the mouse works upon boot up. Side buttons work for forward and back on a web page. Nothing had to be done to Ubuntu to get this to work. Pleased with it.
Note mouse will enter sleep mode if not moved for a while. A simple click of the mouse brings it back to life. This click is NOT transferred to the web page. So no danger of waking the mouse and accidentally clicking on that purchase or bank transfer….
dunno how long the batteries last – only had this a month.
size of mouse is about 11cm long, 6cm wide, about 5cm high.
NOTE this is a right handed mouse.
I’m working at home for the foreseeable future, and my desk area needed a wireless mouse. I’ve got a Tecknet mechanical keyboard, and it’s the absolute dog’s, so this seemed like a good idea. I wanted a five-button mouse – once you’ve had a back-button on the side you can’t go back. The mouse is oriented towards the right-handed, although I’ve tried it with my left hand and it wasn’t uncomfortable. It’s sloped, contoured, and very comfortable, with all the buttons where my fingers want them to be. After 5 minutes of inactivity it shuts down to save power, but a single click and it’s back in the room. I’ve got Powerowl rechargeable batteries in it, and my guess is that I won’t need to charge them for months. It looks nice, and is the only mouse I’ve had which is as comfortable and well-thought-out as my Microsoft mouse (ironic as I’m running Linux). Good bet if you’re after a nice wireless mouse for not too much pence.
I love this mouse so much! I thought it wouldn’t last because of the price but I’ve had it for almost a year without a single issue and have had to replace the batteries only once.
The mouse fits really comfortably in your hand if you like a crevice for your thumb, but I know that people who aren’t used to that shape can dislike it. As for the buttons, they all work well and respond quickly, they also have a nice feel to them, which is great for gaming or everyday tasks!
The only thing you have to watch out for is the Bluetooth USB you put in your computer, that can easily snap off if your aren’t careful, especially when putting your computer in its pouch. I would recommend using a slightly oversized pouch if you don’t want to have to put it in and take it out after every use. I also enjoy the feel of the material.
Overall I recommend this product!!
Great quality mouse, but the size could be bigger. I boihht this mouse alongside with an other type in the same price range here on Amazon, and compared to that mouse this one is at least useable, even if not that comfortable due to the small size.
Great buttons, fairly quiet click wheel (unlike on that other mouse), nice sensor, like the fact that uses 2 AA rechargeables (not included), only thing I envy from the other mouse is the nice soft surface, this one has a cheap feeling shiny surgace. It’s ok, but it would feel so much better with a subtle texture (but maybe this shiny finish is more durable and won’t wear down with time as much).
Honestly if this mouse was like 1 or 2 centimeters longer it would be a 5 star product for sure.
Good device, after 3 month the first pair of battery still working.
Light weight, keys working perfectly and it has a good answer to my moves.
Bluetooth connection work perfectly beside the computer.
Just be careful where you place the very small USB Bluetooth bridge cause a couple of times I though I lost it in my bag!
I lost my last mouse which was a simple one. This one came recommended and arrived quickly. At first I could not find the USB which is hidden inside the battery compartment. I found it just before I messaged Amazon haha. Luckily I had some batteries laying about the house because it didn’t come with batteries which I always find frustrating. Surely these should be included! Anyway, it works very well and sits well in the hand. I really like this bit however, there are buttons on the inside by the thumb and it is so easy to knock them accidently. It is super sensitive and I have ended up flicking off my screen, my screen closing down and even sending an email before it was finished. So it is taking a bit of getting used to.
Ordered a number of these for employees to use with new laptops. Very easy to set up and getting them working. Literally, plug and play and you don’t need to mess with any settings.
Obviously, you need to make sure the Bluetooth is switched on your PC/laptop/mac, but the mouse detects and connects all on its own.
You do need a spare USB port, as this is what sends and receives Bluetooth signals to the computer.
The USB receiver can be found inside the battery compartment
Great price, and decent mouse for office use
I probably wouldn’t use this for gaming, due to lack of buttons, but just fine for office / work based usage
I bought this to replace an older model. It only needed replacing because I had dropped it several times. And I’m surprised that it lasted as long as it did given the bashing it took. It’s a great little mouse. Very responsive, ergonomic. A million times better than a bluetooth Mac one I have.
Just bought new W10 laptop so this bought for occasional use. Plug and play so that was great. Time will tell if it is robust but the promised long battery life was a selling point for me. Only 4 stars because I’m not using all the functionality and only had the item for a few weeks. It may well deserve more stars… The manufacturer contacted me so I have someone to discuss any issues which is a nice touch.
Ergonomically the product fits my hand very well and is a very natural shape, I have quite large hands so it may be a bit of a handful (literally) for those with small/medium sized hands. The rubber on the thumb side is a nice touch, could maybe be slightly more grippy but overall for the price, a very well built mouse with great ergonomics. The USB receiver is well designed too, not too large that it inhibits use in any scenario and not too small that you don’t see it at a glance. The fact that it is also a bright blue means that it’s easy to spot for when you need to remove and put in another laptop/computer.
6 levels of DPI are very good in terms of progression of sensitivity, don’t game myself but I can see it being quite handy for any gamers looking to use this mouse, although it would be better with a light to show you what level you are on. Especially as, with my laptop, the mouse goes to sleep after not being used for a while and the easiest way to wake it back up is with the DPI button. This then increases your DPI level and you have to cycle back through the 6 levels to get to where you were. Which, without the light, just involves counting clicks. The Back and Forward buttons for web pages on the side are very good once you’re used to them, although because of where they’re placed, can sometimes lead to accidental clicking when picking the mouse up. Can’t make many comments on durability or batter life as I’ve only had it a short while.
Overall though, those few negatives are quite small and generally not a huge issue. For the price I paid, couldn’t have really expected a better quality mouse with this level of function.
Setup:
Setting the mouse up is so easy. Literally put in the USB dongle, turn on the mouse and it works. Sensitivity adjustment is great, and the mouse moves very smoothly on almost all surfaces.
Quality:
With batteries in the mouse feels sturdy and premium. All of the buttons are responsive and clicky. The mouse wheel scrolling is smooth. The textured side grip feels premium.
Battery life:
Cannot comment on battery life yet, have been using for over a week and haven’t had to change batteries. After not using the mouse for a little while, it will go into sleep mode which can be woken up by a click. This seems like a great feature for battery saving.
Conclusion:
It is fantastic for the price, highly recommended.
Wow found this mouse just simply excellent! I had tried several others around this type/range and found this one just simply felt perfect in my hand. I had bolught this same mouse for my son and a different model for myself that I had to send the others back and order one of these myslelf for home use.
I like it so much that I paln on ordering another one for my work desk!
Overall top rated and I believe you will also really like this mouse. Excellent comfort while using this mouse throughtout my work day and for personal use.
Enjoy.
For the whole of my life I’ve used a wired mouse on PC. This wasn’t really a problem until around four years ago, due to the fact that the wire would snag on my table, which was very irritating. Despite this fact, it wasn’t until four years later that I thought of buying a wireless mouse. Me being slow aside, this mouse is great. Its shape is perfect for the alignment of a hand (funky sounding sentence, I know). It goes idle after prolonged periods of inactivity, so you needn’t worry about wasted battery life. And, when you do decide to turn it on again after it’s idle, you just have to click the mouse and it’s instantly on again – no need to worry about wasting time. With such a competitive price, you really have nothing to lose from purchasing this mouse. There’s only one thing about this mouse that MAY be a problem for some, and that is its size. For a mouse, it’s the smallest one I’ve probably ever owned. This isn’t a problem for me personally, as I’m only just under average height, but anyone out there that’s tall (let’s say 6’2 or over, for arguments sake) may find this mouse to be too small for their hand. It seems to me that this mouse’s size is more catered for people who’re average height or under, so if you’re quite a tall person, you may want to pay attention to this mouse’s dimensions/look at pictures to see whether this mouse would fit your hand. Other than this potential nitpick, I’ve found this mouse to be great and would definitely recommend it.
I can’t comment how a gamer would rate this mouse as I am not using it for same but regarding everything else it is a good size, feels comfortable in use, has forward and backward buttons on the left hand side, a low battery indicator (it does not come with batteries though) just behind the DPI switch which, itself, is immediately behind the scroll wheel. It takes 2 AA batteries. I have previously bought other Technet products on Amazon and have found them reliable so, for the price, this was a no brainer.
You probably won’t find a better wireless mouse at this price range.
The only bad thing is that my desktop is under my desk where the Bluetooth usb bit goes into. So this might be the reason why my mouse is sometimes slow – it also seems to work fine in certain positions on my desk but moves slower in other positions.
You won’t have this issue if you’re using a laptop, so i’d give it 5/5 for laptop usage. However, 4/5 for desktop usage when your pc is placed under your desk like at my office
Wanted a wireless mouse to use in my living room about 10 feet away from desktop, previously bought amazon basic wireless mouse but it wasn’t good for distance use, so after reading the reviews I went for this model and I can confirm this works really well from distance as this was my reason to buy this, responds just as good as being nearer to the receiver, nice feel to it and looks great. Would recommend this product highly.
Having found the similarly-priced offering from Logitech (M238) too small, I purchased this as the dimensions are bigger.
I don’t have massive hands, but they are not Trump-style small hands either. I take a European large glove size and I’m 186cm tall, if that’s any guide. This mouse fits my hand very well and is comfortable for long periods of use. I spend 7-8 hours a day on this mouse and barely notice it, and that’s really important.
Battery life is excellent and the sleep mode activates quickly and wakes up just as fast.
Clicky, tactile buttons and a smooth and–importantly for working in a small office–quiet scroll wheel.
A big bonus for me as well was that it takes AA batteries. I have a bunch of rechargeable Amazon 2000mAh batteries at home so the fact that this takes 2 of those and I can recharge them easily is great. I have no idea when 4000mAh-worth of juice will run out on this though! A comparable power-saving mouse I had didn’t use up the power in a single AAA battery over 2 years, so this should be good to go!
The package was professional and robust, meaning it arrived in good condition and the unboxing experience was pleasant.
I highly recommend this if you’re on a budget or not. A mouse only really serves one function and it seems pointless to me to spend more than you need to. If you’re just buying this to upgrade on the cheapo mouse your company gave you, or just to have at home for word processing, this is brilliant.
It’s obviously not a gaming mouse, so if you need something like that, I’m not an expert but I would recommend looking elsewhere.
I bought two of these as they were a decent price.
I’d been using a tecknet mouse for about two years, the same model number but it only used a single battery, these newer ones take two. I usually kill mice in a matter of months but the old tecknet battled on untill at last the sensor packed up.
They are a nice shape, easy to reach all the buttons etc … The only thing that lets it down is the, supposedly, grippy textured surface where your thumb rests … I find it quite smooth and have to grip the mouse a little tighter, therefore reducing my accuracy a tad.
They work well on different surfaces, whereas some tend to flick the curser around on patterned surfaces… These don’t.
Overall a good reasonably priced produc
Over the years I bought the M002 mouse a few times and to me, it is the best mouse ever. Ergonomically it is perfect however what Tecknet has done when upgrading the M002 to version 4, it changed the shape a little so the mouse is slightly bigger which is impossible to see from an image.
I complained but the only thing they were interested in was asking if the mouse worked properly. After that, they never came back which means that their customer services are below 0. You might say, it is just a mouse. Correct, but not answering a simple question is for me a reason to let you know and for you to consider to buy your computer hardware and devices elsewhere.
Concerning the manufacturer:
I contacted Tecknet directly and they confirmed indeed that the mouse was a little bit bigger but that is something you cannot see looking at an image on Amazon. Tecknet wanted to give me a 2 return via BlueTree but I told them to send it to charity, I do want to be in contact with BlueTree.
After a few years, the mice get issues like wheel not scrolling properly or left top mouse button not clickable and then I wonder what “lifetime warranty” means.
update May 2020: Bluetree is now responding to my messages about the replacement of the new broken M002 which is good.
I like this mouse very much, in fact I think it is the best that I have had so far. It is nice to hold, very quick to respond to my clicks, my computer seems to respond to it very quickly as well, love the 4 speeds, the extra buttons on the side are very helpful and I like the colour. Yes, I am extremely pleased with it.
I bought this to replace a similar, much-loved Gamekraft gaming mouse I bought 7 years ago, as the dongle finally disintegrated, and they were no longer being made. I spent a long time researching and reading reviews, and tried two other different models/styles of mouse, (including an expensive, Logitech super-ergonomic one), both of which, for various reasons, had to go back, before settling on this.
I have fairly large hands for a woman, though not enormous, and this fits me perfectly, though I think it would also suit larger hands than mine. It feels very good in the hand, though it’s a little on the heavy side, compared to my previous mouse, due to the two AA batteries. (The old one could use either one or two, depending on preference.) Not a deal breaker, though. I think it is misrepresented at 10.5cm long; it’s just over 11 cm.
The wireless connection was quick and simple, and it hasn’t needed to be reconnected since getting it, two and a half weeks ago. The action on the screen is excellent, and the scroll wheel has just enough notchiness to give tactile feedback as you scroll, without feeling too juddery.
Some of the answered questions have said this mouse has a quiet click. It doesn’t. If you want it to use at night without disturbing someone else, you’ll need to look elsewhere. (And if you’re a gamer living with other people, and play very clicky games, do please, for the love of god, buy a silent mouse!)
I’ve also experienced a fair few mis-clicks, when you think you’ve clicked – it certainly makes the clicking noise – but the click hasn’t registered. I’m not completely happy with that, but I’m putting up with it because my biggest need was for a mouse that is comfortable with heavy use, and which moves well, and this is, and does. Very much so. However, if you care less about comfort and really need a mouse that never mis-clicks, buy a different one. (Or possibly switch the dongle to a USB port on the same side of the computer as your mouse hand.)
The mouse glides nicely on the surfaces I use it on, most frequently fabric, (dark sofa/light bed sheets), and I’ve never had a problem with the cursor tracking on these surfaces. I haven’t used a mouse mat since I bought my first optical mouse, 9 years ago. A blonde wood desk also works fine, though not glass.
I’m using this with a 2 year-old Windows 10 laptop, but have also tried it with a 9 year-old Macbook Pro, (running El Capitan), and both are fine. If you find the cursor less than smooth, just go into your computer settings and adjust it from there. The two thumb buttons won’t function on a Mac, but they seem to work well in Windows and are well positioned. The main (rear) thumb button is textured, so you know without looking which is which. Other reviewers have mentioned Steermouse for Mac, if you want to use the side buttons, or to program them to a specific function, and there is also something called Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center available for download for Windows users, which apparently does the same thing. There are also lots of videos available on how to reassign mouse buttons.
Sleep mode. I’ve used a mouse with this function for years, so it didn’t take any getting used to, and I like it a lot. (No real learning curve the first time either, so I don’t know why some people don’t seem to like it.) I find the mouse wakes straight away when I move it; I don’t seem to need to click. I think it goes into a slightly deeper sleep if I don’t use it for a longer time, but by then my laptop is sleeping too, and that takes longer to wake than the mouse does. I also very much like that there is an off button, so you can travel without needing to take the batteries out. Can’t comment on battery life yet as I’ve not had it long enough, though previous experience with this type of mouse suggests it will be at least a few months, even with my crappy rechargeables.
In summary, I like this mouse a lot. It’s supremely comfortable, and very smooth. I can go all day and half the night with this, and frequently do, without any hand or wrist discomfort. It loses a star for the occasional mis-clicking, (which didn’t happen with my previous wireless mouse), but not for the noisy buttons, as it wasn’t advertised as quiet. Oh yes, and I paid 7.99 for it, with Prime delivery, which is extraordinarily good value for money.
EDIT: My rechargeable batteries lasted just two days short of 3 weeks, ie. 19 days. OK, so they’re a bit old, and I’m sure brand new, super-longlife batteries would perform much better, but I was expecting a bit longer than that after the massive claim of 30 months. I used to change them once a month, (using one battery only), with my previous wireless mouse, which got exactly the same amount of use. Oh well, I still really like the mouse!
Really smooth operation, very responsive. I use it primaily for using music software but also play a few games here and there and it works perfectly. The extra navigation buttons on the side are similar to another device I use so using it felt very natural indeed. Set up was simple and took mere seconds, it is plug and play certainly for windows 10 but I imagine it would be the same on most platforms.
Conclusion: As all my other mice conk out, I’ll be replacing them with these!!
UPDATE: Coming up on a year’s use. This mouse has not once let me down in any way. Still feels as smooth an responsive as it was when I wrote this review originally. Top purchase, absolutely still recommend.
Would have been helpful for product to have description of whether designed for left as well as right handed use (it’s not entirely ergonomic for left handers, but you adapt!).
Otherwise, it’s accurate and predictable on almost all surfaces, has flexible programmable functionality and reasonable tactile feel (though this is probably more appreciated in right handed operation).
It has a much better design of scroll wheel than Microsoft versions of wireless mouse I’ve had, which used to fall to bits after about a year – and always just outside warranty. The ‘sleep’ facility is a definite bonus over M’soft as well, which will do wonders for battery life – a claimed 18 months.
Can’t comment on gaming use as it’s not been used for that.
Instant recognition on first connection (W10 OS).
At this price point (somewhat less than a tenner) it’s very good value.
The mouse is comfortable to hold and place your hand onto. The precision is adjustable with a single button on top of the mouse and works well on my wooden table. However, once the two AA size battery is inserted into the mouse the weight distribution of the mouse is closer to the wrist. Some might like that but it feels unnatural to me and it is still taking a bit to get used to. Hence, the loss of one star. I’m not a gamer but can imagine that having weight closer to the wrist may help in some cases.
I like that there’s an on/off button so to really save power when you know you’re not going to be using it for some time and not bring the PC out of sleep mode by accidentally knocking on the mouse.
I bought this for my father to use with his laptop. He is technologically challenged, shall we say, yet has gotten on wonderfully with this product. No issues with connection or compatibility on an HP Windows 8.1 based laptop and perfectly suitable for ‘large sausage hands’.
I wouldn’t recommend gaming on this mouse. It is worth the slightly extra money for a Logitech wireless mouse that has minimal input delay. For most other use cases, this will do the job just fine.
Picked up this lil’ beauty for a measly 8, or something.
Well, damn! Exceeded all expectations, that’s for sure.
It feels good in the hand, with a place to rest my thumb. I have relatively big hands, and this mouse is still comfortable.
Four DPI settings (via a sequential switching button on the top) is an added bonus.
As is the fact that even if I leave the power switch (located on the bottom) in the ‘on’ position, the mouse automatically sleeps to conserve battery life after about 5 minutes, I love this!
Power consumption in general appears to be next to nothing; I’ve been using the same two AA batteries since I started using the mouse, which I use almost constantly, for a good few months now. Those batteries I originally thought were dead, I removed them from a string of fairy lights.
Cursor accuracy is good, I’ve had no problems with it, or the sensor misreading and the cursor moving in a wobbly and erratic manner.
Another simple feature that’s extremely helpful, is the little storage space for the USB Bluetooth dongle, which you can push into the body of the mouse just behind the batteries when you’re in transit etc, helps to not lose it! The reason for buying this mouse, as it happens, was to replace a Microsoft MX Anywhere (50) which I hadn’t had for long, because I lost the dongle, as there was no on-board storage.
But the best thing about this mouse has to be that, perhaps a smidgen below the MX Anywhere, it performs well on almost every surface you could imagine! Sand? No problem. Glass? Gotcha. Water? Why? Doesn’t matter, can do. It’s a TeckNological marvel.
For the price, this has to be a no brainer…
