This is a smart attractive gold and black iron . I have a 3 year old iron I thought I’d compare this too and there is just no comparison.
This iron is 9 bar and it is a lot of pressure and 180g of steam shot is high .
It has a built in led light that really shows creases
I use the smart steam setting so it’s safe on all fabrics mainly.
It let’s you steam and freshen items on the hangar as can be used horizontal or vertical.
It’s ready to go in 2 min and is 2700 watts.
This protects clothing with anti drip
This is the most expensive iron I have ever used but it’s also the best iron I’ve used by a long way.
It’s so comfortable and effortless and all buttons easily within reach .
The base is bulky but it has a large watertank and this can be removed for refilling.
If you have lots of ironing, a large family this is the iron you
Absolutely brilliant, love that you can steam out larger garments, it’s performance is superb, it’s a great size, much smaller that you would expect for such a powerful item, I also thinks it’s great value when you compare to lower performance generators, just can give you the highest recommendation possible. Brilliant!
I have bought a LOT of Tefal kit over the years, but mostly Cooking Pans etc, but never something like this!! Let’s be clear this is NOT an impulse buy.. at over 500 this is a serious bit of kit, and you either have to have a lot of spare cash OR be very serious about your ironing.
I do like to buy TOP quality Kit, and my Partner is VERY serious about her ironing, so I “we” were very excited to give this Tefal Pro Express Iron a go!
Firstly it is much bigger than a standard iron, mainly because the water tank (and the base) is a separate unit. The advantage of this is, that you can store a LOT more water, and get a MUCH greater pressure behind the steam making this not only good for everyday ironing but also possible to steam much larger items like Curtains, etc.
My Partner LOVES this iron, so much so that she has found a permanent space for it in the Utility Room, and she now actually enjoys ironing!
I also wanted to give it a good test but wanted to try it on something MUCH larger… We have 2 sets of Curtains in our dining room, that are DRY CLEAN ONLY, and because they are floor to ceiling when they are cleaned they always come back creased and wrinkled… I set up the Machine, let the steam build up, and then slowly and carefully steamed the curtains while they were hanging, and it worked incredibly well!
The light on the front of the iron also helped to really show all of the creases and we are both VERY pleased with tihs Pro kit. It is NOT cheap, but this is a Top-Level Steam iron and superb quality. If you have the money to spend, you will not regret it.
This is such an amazing Steam Iron i can’t even find the words to describe it to you. First of all i need to mention that it has garment protection Anti-drip Protect System to prevent stains and keep clothes spotless…this is an amazing thing not having to worry about it that it will drip and it will leave a stain on your favourite piece of clothing. It’s a big heavy…weighing approximately 5.3 kg so that is something. This would be a great addition to anyone’s home….very easy to use…it has so many options…it’s heaven literally. Very sturdy…you can use it as a steamer also…it’s well worth the price for sure. The best thing you could buy for yourself or your loved one….Worth every penny. I wholeheartedly believe this will last you a very very very long while. I mean…i had a cheap steam iron and it lasted me for year…i think this one will be forever….it’s very very qualitative in my opinion. Overall i am extremely pleased with it…i would advise anyone o buy it…it’s worth the price definitely…because the quality is there for sure.
Light and very easy to use. Best iron I’ve owned.
Faster Ironing.
Save time and energy if you are using this product
you can.
With this product, you can do what you can do in 30 minutes with normal power in less than 10 minutes, using less power.
The water tank has a large capacity.
Buhari is very powerful.
The iron itself is very light.
The color, shape and design are beautiful.
I can’t see any negative side.
Maybe it covers a large area, but the ease of use causes us to ignore this negative side.
I would recommend it to everyone.
The Tefal Pro Express vision GV 9820 iron comes with a power cable length measuring approximately 168 cm or 5.6 feet. The braided steam and power chord from the base to the iron measures approximately 162 cm or 5.4 feet. The removable water tank is a much more convenient design, As it can be easily taken to the tap and filled with 1.2 L of water. The iron is ready to be used within approximately 2 minutes of being turned on, and will give you an audible beep to let you know it’s ready. The iron will automatically turn off after 8 minutes, If stood horizontally or placed back on the base and not moved. I personally thought that the LED light may have been a gimmicky feature, but after using it we found that it is a helpful feature that highlights the creases you have missed. The iron breezes through Egyptian cotton bed linen with ease, when Smart mode has been selected due to the amount of steam it generates. The smart mode continuously generates steam whilst the iron is moving, Meaning the most stubborn creases don’t stand a chance even with jeans. There are 4 ironing modes, Which are delicate, normal, max and smart. The iron itself is a nice comfortable weight, Making it really easy to iron with. Overall we are very satisfied with this Pro Express vision, because it has made ironing quicker and easier. I hope you have found my review helpful.
REVIEW: Tefal Express Prop Vision 8
*Pros*
* Compared to other steam irons, this is much smaller
* Looks very attractive and sleek
* Steam generator/tank has clip to hold iron in place when being moved or removing tank
* Plate where iron is placed has indents which prevent surface being scratched or damaged
* Has a number of settings to enable you to maximise ironing potential, including a smart setting, and a light
* Very powerful steam, which enables you to remove the most stubborn creases
* Easy to handle iron, and the cord doesn’t get too twisted
* Gets through ironing very very quickly
*Cons*
* Tank is difficult to remove, and requires something of a tug, which can be dangerous if you are using the iron and it is still hot
* It uses a phenonemal amount of water, so when ironing a lot of clothes make sure the tank is full
* The medium and strong settings generate so much steam that the ironing board gets soaked and we found it dripping underneath
* Has a light, but not clear what the use of that is as you never iron in the dark!
This is an exceptional steam iron, and the best I have tried so far (I’ve been through 4 in my time, in various guises). The unit is smaller than the others I have had, and fits well on most surfaces, but is still too large and heavy to fit onto the iron stands which some ironing boards have. Although most steam irons are intuituive, its still useful to have settings you can use, and you do notice the difference between the heavy mode and the delicate fabric switch. The iron is easy to use, and gets into difficult creases with ease. It does generate quite large amounts of steam, particularly at the higher settings, which can lead to the board getting soaked underneath and I’ve found it causing drips onto the floor. However, the speed with which this thing goes through ironing more than makes up for the inconvenience of this. I’ve also tried ironing garments that are hanging, and found this works a treat, which I’ve found less so with other irons. My only gripe is that the tank does require a tug to remove (although slips back in more easily), and you need to make sure you start with a full tank if you are doing a lot of ironing, or you will have to keep refilling. The autocalc is standard, and easy to use, and I’ve only had to use once so far with about 15 hours of ironing. Overall, this is an excellent iron, which you would expect given the price. If you like ironing, but more especially if you hate ironing, this is a must as this cuts down effort by an enormous amount. An excellent piece of machinery – worthy of a 5 star rating.
5/5
I use this iron between 1 – 3 hours per day. I bought it as my old one broke after 5 years. It is much lighter than my old Tefal generator, which I was unsure about at first, but now I really like. It steams very well and is easy to fill up with water given you can take the water tank apart. Overall I am pleased with this iron.
Why choose a steam generator iron Well it largely comes down to the size of your laundry items and the storage space you have available. Steam irons are more compact, but their larger counterparts are better suited to bigger items of clothing or bedding.
Steam irons have built-in water tanks too, where the steam generated relaxes fabrics and removes creases as I’ve tried to show you in my video. The higher the steam output, the better it will be at smoothing out your clothes.
My t-shirt is a cotton spandex mix so I used the medium heat with the steam shot. I was ironing one handed whilst videoing.
This has a huge water tank which enables it to release more steam at a higher pressure, which means you usually only have to iron one side of a garment to banish deep creases from both the front and back. I’ve included a photo of the back of my t-shirt I was ironing in the video.
Anything over 50g/minute would be considered a high output for a steam iron and for steam generator irons, the range is generally 120g to 160g/minute and this one is 180g/minute.
The steam shot is used for removing extra-stubborn creases in hard-to-reach areas. A steam iron has a steam shot output ranging from 110g to 340g/minute. Steam generator irons often have this feature too, and boast higher figures than steam irons, ranging from 280g to 600g and this one is 750g so it’s a heavy duty beast of an iron.
The bigger the tank capacity, the more laundry you can iron before a refill is needed. The capacity of steam irons vary from 0.27 to 0.4 litres, while steam generators have a much bigger tank capacity — from 1 to 2.5 litres and this one has just under 2litres at the max line.
Most modern steam and steam generator irons come with both anti-scale and anti-calcium functions, helping to limit the formation of limescale over time, which can clog the steam vents. These are particularly important if you live in a hard water area. This one has one.
If you’re after an iron that will get the job done on the double, look for a higher wattage as this usually equates to a faster heat-up time. The quickest steam generator irons can be ready in just over a minute. This one is 2700 watts.
The handle is comfortable to hold and it definitely doesn’t drip.
As you’d expect, this means they’re bigger and bulkier than standard irons, so factor in where you’d store it before buying. They also cost more.
The box has Chinese writing on one side but has a UK plug. Made in France. I couldn’t find this model number for sale in the UK so I think it’s been sourced from China.
2yr warranty.
The picture instructions were easier to understand than the written ones but it’s pretty self explanatory.
The electric cord is quite short.
Without doubt this is a quality iron on an industrial scale. I hope I’ve helped
Obviously this would be a very scary price to pay for an iron, of all things. However, you do genuinely get what you pay for with this iron. It’s amazing and really would work for a professional ironing service! It’s absolutely seamless and there is no need to change the temperature for even dainty fabrics. It’s easy to set up and use and works an absolute treat- completely recommended!
Have this model myself so when my daughter needed a new iron I bought one for her. It cuts ironing time by more than half Temperature control is responsive. Just a great machine. Best labour saving device too
What an iron!!! The Tefal Pro Express Vision GV9820 is an absolute monster. I’ve got a few stream generator irons but this Tefal Pro Express Vision is another level of ironing! I know it’s an iron I’m talking about here, but when visitors have came to our house whilst I happen to be ironing and they see the steam and hear the pressure that this produces, you see the expression on their face and the “what is that”! It’s very well designed, everything ergonomic, buttons where you want them to be, nothing feels awkward. It has the usual delicate, normal and max settings all indicated by a light on top of the handle as well as the vision light and smart steam, with a stream trigger under the handle. On the steam unit you have you have the power on/off, boost and calc buttons, detachable water tank and calc valve. The sole plate is super smooth and together with the amount of steam shot and pressure makes this iron feel as if it’s floating across garments. Once you’re use to generator style irons with water tanks filling a normal iron with water every so often really becomes such a pain. These style of irons really let you motor through your ironing, and if like me you let your ironing build to do it all in one go they are very welcome as they really do shorten the time it takes. I’ve been keeping this iron in smart mode for all my ironing as it saves having to keep the trigger pulled in and it knows when the iron is moving to give you steam when you need it. The Vision light isn’t a gimmick either it really does highlight the creases. 9 bar is a lot of pressure and 180g of steam shot is high also and let’s you steam and freshen items on the hangar. It’s ready to go in 2 min and has an auto shut off. This is the most expensive iron I’ve used but it’s also the best iron I’ve used by a long way! If you have lots of ironing, a large family or are short on time, this fits all those needs easily. The iron to rule all irons! Recommend
My partner and I have never used an iron with an external water tank before. This is a very high quality and fully featured iron, so we were curious to compare it to the 40 one we picked up from George a few years ago. We weren’t disappointed!
The first and possibly biggest advantage of this iron having an external water tank is that it’s incredibly light. If you find yourself usually getting cramp and achy shoulders when ironing, then the fact the water isn’t in the kettle means that quite a bit of weight is taken away. In turn, this means you can iron for longer and pain free. Filling up this water tank is very easy. It’s quite large and so some smaller sinks may not accommodate it, but you can use the bath or a jug and funnel. The box says you can iron for about 90 minutes without having to fill up the tank and we’ve found this about right.
One thing that is important to note is that you must have somewhere to set the external water tank. You could have it on the ironing board, but our ironing board is quite small. We have it on a small desk by our ironing board (to the right) and this is very useful. Whichever hand you use to iron (right for us) you want the tank on that side, otherwise the wire that carries the water will run across you and get in the way. Also, the pump wire can get quite warm. It’s not enough to burn you as it’s very well insulated, but it’s enough that you’ll not want to do it too often. As long as you take time setting it up and working out where it will go it’s fine though 🙂
As I said above, this iron is feature rich! However, I was a little disappointed with the instructions. There’s so much going on here that I’d have loved to read about it before I started. Sadly, it was a bit of trial and error in the first instance. I couldn’t find anywhere within the box on what the boost did or what smart mode did. Realistically, it is just an iron and you work it out, but it’s a shame that such a top end product didn’t do a better job of explaining this.
Smart Mode: This mode is designed to work with all fabrics, so you don’t have to change the settings whilst you iron. It seems to work well.
Boost Mode: Generates more steam and so makes ironing thicker items like jeans easier.
In addition to these modes, I did appreciate the ability to remove a little plug to descale the iron. This should make it last much longer than a standard one and stop it spitting out little white bits. I also liked the ‘lock’ for when you place the iron on the external water tank. This is a good safety feature.
How is the ironing experience? Well, I have to say I was skeptical when I first got this iron. Things like boost mode, smart mode, LED lighting, an external pump, etc all sounded gimmicky. However, I have to say that I’m now a believer. I’ve already commented on how much lighter the iron is… but it’s just so much faster to iron too. The steam comes out at a consistent rate and it’s possible to blast clothing with a good dose of water whenever needed too. The iron glides seamlessly over pretty much any kind of clothing. The LED light is actually really useful as we iron in quite a dark room and it allows you to see the creases being ironed away (or not). This iron just generally feels very powerful and well suited to getting through a heap of clothing.
Overall, I’m super impressed with this iron. I don’t think we’ll ever go back to a cheap iron… our clothes are so much smoother and the ironing is done so much quicker too!
I have been using a Phillips Steam Generator for many years and had been thinking of perhaps upgrading I was very keen to try this one from Tefal.
First of all it looks impressive. It arrived promptly and is packaged well. Easy to operate, I love the fact that once you are ready to go there is no need to alter the settings. It automatically detects the right temperature and it powered through a weeks laundry in record time. There is a sharper point on the tip of this iron so can reach right into the most stubborn corners. I cannot find any negatives except perhaps the hefty price tag. If you can afford the investment then this has to be a Rolls Royce of Steam Generators and one that I highly recommend.
I have to admit, ironing is not my favourite thing by any means. But although I try and keep it to a minimum, there is some ironing I consider essential. Shirts; linen clothing and I love freshly ironed bedding which is a real faff given that I have a superking sized bed.
This iron makes all of that so much easier, because it is a lot more powerful than any I have used before. The base is bulky-no question; but that is because the removable water tank has a 1.2 litre capacity, giving you masses of steam power that lasts for ages meaning you don’t have to keep stopping to refill or top up.
And although I tend not to iron in the dark, the LED light at the very tip of the iron is pretty good in the daytime, too — showing me where any remaining creases are and helping to ensure I get the smoothest ironing. It lights up whenever I am holding the iron over the ironing horizontally.
Tefal has put a lot of thought into this iron. The things that really bug me about my old iron are dealt with: there’s an anti-drip fuction to stop water from dripping onto clothing and staining it. There’s also a system for collecting and removing calc particles so that the plate doesn’t get all clogged up and chalky.
The iron itself is not particularly heavy, making it really easy to use. The handle is comfortable and it is really quiet when I am using it. The plate of the iron is smooth and fast — almost as if it is turbo-charged. The tip is small enough to let me iron in the small spaces between shirt buttons or between the pintucks of my linen shirts.
What makes this iron special though is the powerful steam function that has 5 settings for all your needs. It cut through my superking duvet cover no trouble at all.
The settings are pretty easy to understand. You just choose the setting you need and you get the right temperature and steam strength for your ironing. There are three settings; delicate, normal and max. If you need to get creases out of something in a hurry, there’s a powerful steam jet function which you can direct and hanging clothes to power out those creases.
There’s a very helpful manual that shows you everything in pictures, including how to operate the steam boost and handle the anti calc mechanism, so it is all pretty straightforward.
It is expensive –no question — but if you do a lot of ironing, and especially if you handle a lot of bulky bed linen, this iron will power through in half the time with twice the results.
This steam iron really will change the way you iron. It is an absolute time saver. The iron itself is lightweight and easy to handle.
I am not keen on ironing; I feel it takes up half the day when I do it. When I used this for the first time, I was so pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think I would ever find anything like it!
The iron heats up quickly once it’s turned on. It’s so easy to use and just glides across your items so smoothly.
Once you’ve finished ironing, your clothes will look immaculate and crisp, just like it’s come out of the dry cleaners!
I love that you don’t need to change the temperature to iron different materials; this iron will just adjust!
The water tank is easy to take in and out, all very convenient. It gives of a fair amount of steam and does its job wonderfully.
My only one down point, is this really worth 531.90? As much as I’ve raved about this, I think it’s utterly overpriced. Is the price a mistake? You can get similar for half the price. I was lucky I got to receive and review this item. As much as I like it and as much as I’d recommend it, I would be put off by the price.
Our last steam iron stopped working after 10 years, ordering this was quick and efficient. Hope this lasts just as long as the last one, so far no problems.
I have used a steam generator iron for years and this is by far the best one I have ever used. It glides through the toughest sheets and shirts. It is much more powerful than my previous regal and Phillips. I love it.
Excellent value price wise, easy to use, but quality no where near as good as my previous TEFAL iron, I don’t like that there is nowhere to store the leads like my previous model, but at least it still irons good
This iron is EVERYTHING! I’m a busy mum of five, so as you can imagine ironing is a mammoth task, but this ironing cuts the time in half. It’s easy to use and so powerful. My bedding looks brand new with a quick skiff of this iron, whereas with my previous iron I would go over and over it and never get all the creases out. If you are considering it, go for it. One of my best Amazon purchases to date.
Great iron, bought as used from Amazon warehouse and currently it’s been brilliant value for money
I have had steam generators before but nothing like this excellent. The only quibble I have is the mains lead should retract back into the bottom of the iron, but that’s me being fussy
Dont be a slave to laundry. Get the best possible iron your money can buy.
Down sides. Iron flex does not glude into stow away compartment easily. Electric flex is a absolute ball ache to stow into compartment require. Small, very small niggles comparex to the time this iron will save you. Stood arrgh ironing your life away.
This is a great steam generator. Powerful. Lightweight iron. Big tank.
Very light iron excellent steam cuts through a load if ironing in half the time I found would highly recommend to all
This iron is the best everyone can have.. very usable, lightweight .. the customer service is very polite and helpful.. i wish everyone of them all the best and success ..
It has just stopped working steam not coming out I thought it was a brilliant iron but thought I would have got longer use from i
It has just stopped working steam not coming out I thought it was a brilliant iron but thought I would have got longer use from i
This is so much better than my previous steam generator, a Phillips
Plenty of steam makes ironing so much quicker and better,
The machine is quite heavy, and takes plenty of water, so no re-filling too often.
The leaf setting is quite enough for most ironing.
Super light to use, the only thing I would like to see is the return of the auto cable winder.
Bought it as used acceptable condition, well packed without manual, small marks, not really bothered as lond as working as it should. Unfortunately after few uses I’ve noticed that iron was spitting bits and brown water and when I closely looked soleplate was kind of blocked and looked like someone was trying to open iton/ take the soleplate off so decided to return it and purchased another one as used to see if this time will be all good.
Other than that I think iron is fantastic, steams really well and ironing is a pleasure. Easily can be on the floor so no need to buy new ironing board, easy to fill the water, can be a bit noisy when water is pumped into steaming tank but it’s ok, no temperature control is greate, steam books works good too. Its big and bulky but am fine with that cos does good job when comes to ironing.
I’ve used steam generators for the last 10 years and will never go back. My last suddenly stopped working (it must have been at least 5 years old) so had been looking around for a good value one. I seen this on prime day deals and the specs looks good so gave it a try.
It’s amazing. The water tank is huge. Great for a larger family and larger baskets of clothes. The cord is just long enough to sit the machine on the floor and use the iron on a board. The machine as a whole is average weight but the iron itself is quite lightweight.
I’ve only used it on the middle setting so far as I don’t think I need a higher one. In fact, I could probably even lower the steam setting.
All in all, it seems a good quality iron which helps steam through the ironing (get it).
Although, admittedly I haven’t had it long so can’t comment on the longevity yet.
This is is my 4th Tefal steam generator. This one has no temperature control – I find it strange – it seems to iron everything well and doesn’t yet spill gunge from its homes. The sole plate is super smooth a d the steam output is awesome. The actual iron is lighter the the previous one.
The water tank comes out for filling which is less messy than filling from a jug but when the iron is biting am not happy getting it out to refill it so allow the iron to oil down first which is a bit ioc a time waster.
Smooth ironing, a joy to use. Great ironing results. Love the safety guard lever keeping the iron on the base when not in use and between garments if leaving the iron for a short time.
Previously owned a Tefal GV8360, purchased from Amazon in May 2010, the old iron failed within a few months of purchasing and was repaired by Tefal and has been going strong ever since. The baseplate was starting to wear out and the outer sleeve on the connection hose was broken but the iron still works fine. Decided to purchase a replacement and after much searching settled on another Tefal. This replacement iron is an improvement on the old iron in all areas apart from not having retractable cord. The build quality feels not as good as the old iron but this is only because it much lighter which is a big advantage as long as it is able to withstand the tests of time.
I have recently purchased this iron, after returning my previous Philips iron which lacked performance. On the other hand this iron has ticked all the boxes, quality performance and easy to use.
Most items can be ironed on the normal setting and gets rid of creases in just one go.
A definite buy!
Very impressed with the steam iron, easy to work with.
It is just great. Easy to use and the pipes and wires tuck away and the iron locks onto the base so it is easier than my previous iron to store and carry.
There is a very similar model at Curry’s that is nearly twice the price.
A really good high pressure stream generator iron.
It truly does cut ironing time down
Very smooth. Smart mode is very clever in applying steam when you’re ironing.
You will need to get a steam generator ironing board for maximising full benefits of this.
I use a Brabantia size C steam generator ironing board.
Highly recommend this Tefal iron.
Really goid iron although tidying away the plug and cord is not easy. Brilliant steam lightweight iron although unit as a whole is heavy
Really pleased with this iron it does make a few noises when water moves from the tank to make steam but apart from that great iro

Bought to replace an earlier model which had served well for many years.
This iron is amazing. So easy to use and makes your clothing look new. Fast delivery and I am very happy
It is used to do the weekly ironing. Had to really read the instructions and try each temperature control.
Great iron instant steam from generator which seems to be an issue on the cheaper irons but this one is great. Long lead too so it just breezes through a pile of ironing would definitely recommend

Great iron…. easy to use, however would have liked it if the power cable was retractable so a bit easier to carry/store It did say it was on the description, but as my iron died and this feature doesn’t affect it’s performance which is my main criteria I have kept it and I got it at a great price too
Simple to use and easily the best iron I’ve ever had
I have 2 steam generator iron s by tefal. Cracked water tank and tefal sent me a new one for 20. Very happy but it took a month hense i had to buy another. However my first steam generator lasted me 16yrs. It was all metal by Phillips and the metal tank was inc. In the iron. Only stoped working because i dropped it.
Really easy to use. Very lightweight.
It’s a shame that tefal have removed the retractable plug cable as getting the cable in the storage space is quite tricky. Also the steam cable storage isn’t as good or easy as it used to be on my old tefal steam generator.
The actual iron is great though & it’s fantastic at getting out creases.
Glad I didn’t pay full price though!
