Being a huge Sims fan, I was super excited about this new edition, as frankly, I found The Sims 3 to be a little too serious and was looking forward to a return of the slightly less serious world of The Sims 2.
Since we have gone from having literally everything in TS3 and its expansion packs right back to a base game so it is going to seem like a little bit of stuff is lacking. However, I think there really is a lot of stuff to play with here.
Create a Sim is probably my favourite part of the whole game – creating specific Sims by pulling body parts is just amazing and so easy, as you can take a randomised Sim and make them look totally different by pulling a few features around. No two Sims look the same and that is definitely a bonus. There seems to be a pretty good choice of hairstyles, although I do miss the colour wheel and being able to create amazing colours for your Sim’s hair, but they have given some nice blues and pinks to work with. There is a good choice of clothing, too, and accessories, but I am sure there will be more in the expansion packs.
I also think that the loading screen thing is not much of an issue either. As for me I found that having one huge, cohesive neighbourhood really made the gameplay lag, so it is much speedier with a two second loading screen here and there.
The graphics are amazing – not too cartoonish, but not so hyper-realistic as they were in TS3. The world itself is just beautiful, with little details like ducks on ponds that just make it extra nice.
The new build-mode and camera does take a bit of getting used to, but once you have figured it out, building houses is so much easier! The new room shapes that you can just dump right in are much easier than trying to create an octagonal wall with little individual walls. Again, this ease means that it is a lot easier to create unique houses, just like it is in CAS. There seems to be some good furniture, although not quite the wide choice as we had even in the base game of TS3, but I am sure there will be stuff packs to come soon. I do love the new clutter section, as it makes the houses look a lot more like people actually live in them!!
As for the gameplay itself, I think it is actually a lot more intense than TS3. The new whims that Sims get mean that there is literally always something to do, and the high levels of free will mean that your Sims will often get obsessed with doing things that you do not necessarily want them to do (mine kept washing dishes constantly even though I had a housekeeper hired?!?) which does add to the free-wheeling feel of the game. The interactions are pretty fun, like “tickle mercilessly” but, depending on a Sim’s mood, they take each action differently, which makes it really interesting. The multi-tasking feature is also really fun – say a Sim was stressed and felt lonely they could talk whilst playing on the computer and fill two mood bars at onc which is easier. Although it is a bit weird to see them eating food and chatting in the bathroom, purely because they want to find someone who happens to be in there…
It is also nice to see different careers, such as painter, writer and entertainer, but it is also a bit sad to miss out on more traditional jobs such as doctor or businessperson. But I guess it is fun to have more fun jobs, but TS2 managed to balance that with normal circumstances.
However, I do think that the lack of public lots is probably my only major problem with the game. It seems weird to me that they do not even have a school that you can see, not even as a rabbit hole, and no hospital or restaurant. Cars are not in it, even though you could have cars in TS2, which still employed the loading screen system, so that is a little odd. There just does not seem to be much to do outside of your lot which is annoying. I thought that the stuff would be spread out over three worlds, but it is not, you have pretty much the same stuff in each world, so it is not particularly varied.
Despite this, it is still a really awesome game and is great fun to play and while away an afternoon. I am really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the expansion packs will bring – maybe a specific ‘schools’ one, like we had University Life, or a cars stuff pack, or a pool pack with huge water slides….
All fine with quality of product. Although it is a shame that the sims game itself costs half the price of the add-ons. Really not worth it.

I bought this game for my 14 year old granddaughter and she loved it. It has all the updates and you don’t have to worry about it not having all the similarities of playing the sims online. Another advantage of having the disk version is the price it is very cheep and worth it.

As always a great delivery and no problems with my order! If your a sims fan this is a must get, I have the sims free play on my tablet but was feeling I was missing out on this, so I’m a newbie to the ps4 version but excited to get stuck in thankyou
I love the Sims 4 and originally owned on
P. C. So was excited to play this as the sims has Been one of my favorite franchises from when I first played it. It’s great because there are alot of added features to this game. Conversations are more complex and they added more choices for dialogue with sims in chat, there is a great building mechanism for buildings and you can pretty much design your own property. They have limited it a bit from the sims 3 because in the sims 3 you could walk the neighbourhood and use cars to go to and from places. There is no cars in the sims 4 unless you get a taxi and you can walk the neighbourhood a bit but not as open as the sims 3. But I think this is a minor issue. As the game it self is great. Now expansions are really good and add some more scope to the game. As for example you could get back to work expansion and you can goto work with your sim and It adds more careers and items to your buy list for the houses. There is lots to do in the sims 4 and the graphics are nice. Also the Sim customisation is expanded in this one and you can edit your sims appearance in a mirror to change body type and looks of your sims. So if you don’t like a part of a sim you can completely change it in game. I think this is a great thing to add as you can literally edit your sim in game rather then having to start again from scratch. I’ve really enjoyed playing this game so far and had alot of fun creating sims and families and controlling there fates

Came cellphone wrapped, disk & box are in good condition. I loved the sims on PC and had to get it on ps4. Controls are definitely different and hard to get the hang of but still a great game.

Great game, I haven’t brought a sims game in ages I thought I might buy it just to see. it’s has disappointed me, graphics are really good. It takes a getting use to the control buttons on how to make things work, but other than that it’s very good.
Great game i enjoyed it. Delivery was on time. This game really helps boost creavitivity in sectors of character buildig and house builds. If you are creative person you should totally go for this game.
Had this on the ps3 and couldn’t take to the controls on this version to start with so stopped playing it. Back with it now and as I haven’t played the ps3 in so long this feels normal now. The graphics are bold and there’s lots of interesting places to explore. Tip: My sim makes loads more money growing flowers than the other one does going to work. Lillies and orchids are the most expensive I’ve found so far but there’s probably more .
I got my wife this as she loved playing it on the PS2 ,she complained at first as the controls are completely different to what she is used to. Well she has gotten used to the controls and handling and the graphics are ace. I got this shouted through the door as i passed her another cup of tea . I think she is still in there havent heard much but will check on her later.
I’ll admit that I was never much into The Sims before now, but lockdown had me miserable so I got this game and lived my life through my little sims characters instead it’s so easy to waste a whole day on this game, it’s a lot of fun. Great delivery, and fab packaging as always by amazon. 🙂
I bought this as the price was very good compared to video games shops. Excellent amazon delivery as usual. Keeps you entrained. If you already know the game you will enjoy it but it would be nice to be able to play with someone else, for example using two controllers.
"coupon discount uk" - Google News says:
Went down a treat with my daughter.
She is always on it.
I have noticed a few glitches with the game but overall it plays well and getting expansions is very easy.
Excellent price and fast delivery.
I have played this game on my PC when i was younger and it’s much harder to understand the controls when playing this on PS4. It was my first try yesterday and the game froze… Had to restart my PS4 haven’t gone back on it since.
Overall ok
I have played this game for years and have Sims 4 for the pc so knew what to expect.
I love the multitude of options The Sims allows so it never gets boring for me albeit you do need to shell out every now and again to add packs to renew interest but their are plenty of options and most games now do this.
I was a little wary of purchasing this ps4 version as reading some of the reviews it seems some people have difficulty adjusting to the controls but as a regular ps gamer I have no problems.
In fact now I have played it this way on a big screen it is far superior for me.
Also the updates have been good allowing console players all or most of the same options as pc players now.
Bought as a present – my brother loves this.
I find it hard to understand the controls on the PS4 as I’m used to playing the game on the desktop but he has picked it up quickly. He enjoys the game!
Controls different to ps3 version take a bit getting use to. Graphics amazing cons not as many accessories as Sims 3. Game more of a challenge to have to score e.g get level 8 fix it trait to upgrade tv for more channels which I like . Graphics alot better . Negatives their 3 worlds if u want go to another area have to save game first. Dlc packs must be about a million and very expensive. Cats and dogs pack 8quid. Where u could get Sims 3 pets ps3 xbox360 for less. Recommend that one ifvu have a last gen console and never played it . Trophies om that one a challenge getting back to subject if u can get for under 13 pounds if worth money as really enjoying it shame ea wanted make dlc a money gold pit .
Daughter loves this game. She was waiting for ages to get on the PS4 platform and was not disappointed.
Enjoys setting up Characters and building the houses.
Awsome game once you get through all of the tutorial process and trust me, take your time and go through it as the game is great. All round great service and speedy delivery.
I love the game but the controls are a headache trying to build a house from the beginning isn’t fun I’ve been used to playing sims on a ps2 which is taking sometime getting used to playing the Sims on a ps4 can anyone tell me who has played sims 4 on a ps4 how to get the house built easier plz
I have loved this game from earlier versions so was looking forward to playing this. The lettering on the on screen instructions is too small – im playing on a 49 inch full hd smart tv and good eyesite and struggle to read what it says. It makes it harder to enjoy the game and progress because they are a part of what you need to do to complete challenges. I still play but not nearly as much as I would if I could read it.
I was one of those people who haven’t played Sims for a long time & mainly on PC when I did, I had Sims 3 (I think it was, the one on the Xbox 360) but an update ruined the game for me & I didn’t keep it so I was hesitating on this specialty being on console however if you’re hesitating too, please read. The game is absolutely fantastic, I’ve read reviews on the controlls being tricky but honestly, they’re not and they’re very easy to get used to, there’s guides anyway and you can always press the button to give you a reminder of the controls if you get stuck (which you won’t), I’m not the biggest gamer but this was easy for me so will no doubt be for you too. The game is a real improvement to the previous Sims and quite funny too (specially when you have a fight ha). There’s lots to do or your SIM can just do its thing but you earn money with tasks, it’s great building relationships (and ending ones you no longer want) it’s just so good but what was really unique was, I had a phone call telling me a previous Sim I was married to and fell out with badly had passed away, a few days or so later this Sim called my phone and I was like “Eh” haha Anyway I let them come round as they wanted and they turned up as a ghost it was awesome haha but that aside there’s so much to do in this, it’s not hard or does it take long to get the game started (something I didn’t like previously, although of course if you like to build the game for a while before you start you can). The Sim customisation is so big but again easy to use and not something you have to do, it’s there if you want to and it’s just so good. I’ve literally been on it hours each day since I’ve got it and as mentioned above I’m really not the biggest gamer at all (I usually only like to play for an hour max and even then it’s quite rare) but I’ve been on this ages and time has just flown haha.
The game is funny, unique, creative, lots to do and lots of work put into it so if you’re hesitating like I was, don’t, just get the game I assure you won’t be dissapointed (I’d been hesitating since its release but just got it the other day).
The only reason the review is losing is a star is because of the expansion packs you can buy are too expensive, for example the seasons pack to change the seasons is like 30 odd pounds or something which is ridiculous, it’s more than the game costs just to change seasons. I understand it’s a business but it’s just way too much, things like that should be only a few quid, at least less than a tenner conisdring there’s quite a lot you can buy if you wanted everything (I’m not sure what deluxe version of Sims includes as I only bought the standard) but with that aside the game is awesome and really is worth getting!
Just grab the game if you can and if it’s on sale, definitely grab it and enjoy
Valentine’s gift for my Fianc as he really wanted it, he played it once & didn’t like it so lent it me, had it ever since. Not bought any expansions. Good game just remember to keep saving as it glitches out alot, if you’ve been on it a while.
I just got this game and I’m really enjoying it so far. As it’s just early days I may come back for an update but Sims 4 has been holding my interest a lot longer than the previous Sims games I’ve played. Not that they weren’t great but this one’s possibly my favourite.
You can do so much more when creating your Sim or Sims: you can pick different ages, walks, body shapes and voices. You can add a few things to their personality and aspirations that affect the game play. There are so many things you can do that it could take you a while to create your Sim if you’re anything like me.
The social interactions and things to do are much better and more realistic (for want of a better word). You don’t get so easily bored with the game. I really love the choice of interactions with the objects as well and how as you learn more you have more choices that open up for you. There’s so much to do and achieve. You could drop by your neighbours house or go to the gym, or nightclub, library or museum. You have a choice of three towns to live in. People age in this and while it seems the child Sims have a limit of time (I’ve only tried teen so far) the adult ages seem to progress when you choose to do something, though I’m not entirely sure yet.
It is kind of annoying if people pay a lot for this game and then there is so much dlc afterwards, as I didn’t spend so much and there is still so much to do in this game it doesn’t bother me, but I do think they should have given a bit more. It’s a shame a lot of the dlcs seem to be unavailable or at expensive rate around the net.
Anyways, if you enjoyed playing the Sims before you’re bound to enjoy this one. Even a friend of mine who doesn’t like to play these types of games is interested in trying it out.
After being a long loving sims fan I had to give in and get this on ps4, the controls at first were hard to get used to but after an hour or so of playing they’re easy to use now so don’t listen to other reviews about controls
A good version if the sims game, lots to do but the controls can be difficult especially when designing your sim or trying to build your house. If you played and loved the series previously your bound to love this one too.
I always think I love Sims but then I play it for like a month straight, trying to get my sims life perfect; Have a family, a career, all that shebang but then the Sim ages too quickly. Surely there must be a feature to turn off ageing because I don’t want them to die before they reach all their goals? Maybe this is just EA’s sick way of explaining life to gamers in a fun way? You try and try but then you die just as you get close to achieveing everything you ever wanted? Really, I don’t know who I am more disappointed in. EA or God (Science, realistically) #EndDeath #DeathDeathForAChange
On the plus side it’s a port and on the downside it’s a port. This game is a direct port. All the content the PC has, but controls are difficult. If they brought out keyboard support it would be perfect!
Was a little worried about getting this on PS4 as these type of game are usually best played with a mouse and keyboard but I have no complaints. The controls take a little practice but are fairly easy to pick up and master.
Gameplay wise this is great and both myself & my wife have spent many an hour creating and sculpting our separate characters. The graphics are great and really help to make you care about the households you create for your sim and their family.
A great game for anyone and a nice relaxing way to unwind after a stressful day at work.
My daughter was really looking forward to playing this…although it took her a while to get used to the control system which were pretty complicated to be honest, but as soon as she mastered them after a couple of hours playing…she was telling me how to play it.
haven’t seen my son since Christmas mainly due to his new ps4 and games ..he was delighted with this as hes had the sims for pc and earlier playstation consoles and couldn’t wait to try the new version.
This is a great game a straight port of the pc version and all it’s content yes the controls take a couple of hours to get used to but that’s fine . The game has been patched of the save issues etc that people have rated it lower for . Honestly if you like the sims then this is perfect on console . More patches and updates will only improve it . Must buy for fans
Top tip use the right stick push in (R3) to lock the needs panel open etc 🙂
I’ve been waiting for forever for sims to come back to PlayStation, and here it is! The controls do take a lot of getting used to. And, I hate the fact you cannot keep the needs in the bottom right corner up at all times AND click on things for your sims to do… unless I’m doing it wrong. I see how a lot of reviewers here have said about saving problems but, my saving has never been an issue. I brought the game on PS store, but I do wish I brought it on here as it is a lot cheaper. This is the same as the PC version just obviously the controls are a lot different. I’m waiting to get paid to get the vampire, city living & some other bundle. It does keep you so busy for HOURS and I find myself playing this for AGES. But, of course eventually it does get boring & repetitive. Which is why I’m going to purchase the add-ons, bundles. However, although of course it gets repetitive, that is why they bring out add ons to keep it fun and to be honest there is ALOT to do. And, it is a game which you can go through playing 24/7 to taking a break for days/weeks/months etc and then come back to playing and loving it again. Sims to me is a unique game and I really love how you can make it your own. The reason I gave this 4 stars is because the controls do get annoying at times, but you do get used to them, another reason was just how long it took to come out on PlayStation & how I hope they keep up with PC sims as they have so many add ons. Another, is some of the way you play is annoying – such as the thing I mentioned above about the needs (however, I might just be doing it wrong, not sure). Another thing is how expensive it is. Games are just super expensive.
First of all big thanks to amazon for delivering on the release day and giving away free DLC content (perfect patio) by email.
I have played every single sims game back in the days on pc. Also on consoles and mobile.
So I’ve been playing sims4 since release day and I’ve been checking the reviews nearly every day. I was reading many negative comments regarding a bug which dont allow you to save your game.
For me it was never an issue. Whenever I saved my game it did work. Never lost any progress so far and I am already over 20 hrs gameplay.
Also I heard there was a patch released fixing the problem already.
This means we can ignore all the bad reviews where people complaining about the save game bug.
The game runs well, not crashed at once.
The only downside is the controls. Takes few hrs to get used to it, especially if you ever played this on pc. But that is nothing game breaking so far.
If you ever liked any sims series on any platform then this is a must buy. If you are a newcomer on this genre, well I can still recommend just be aware of the frustrating controls.
As the publisher is EA, I have to mention there is NO LOOTBOX, PAY TO WIN or any kind of microtransaction in this game which could effect the game progression in any way (excluding DLCs).
Sims is sims, it’s simply brilliant, if you loved The Sims back 10 years or back in the day then you won’t be disappointed. And yes it runs well on the PS4.

Not a fan of this franchise but was told this was a very good game. After watching the gameplay I also agree.
You charged me 20.00 at the start of the year now it is 17.00 I feel heartbroken. But still a good buy. HAVEN’T Played it in months.
A tad tricky to get use to the controls opposed to the PC but just as much fun.

I’ll admit that I was never much into The Sims before now, but lockdown had me miserable so I got this game and lived my life through my little sims characters instead it’s so easy to waste a whole day on this game, it’s a lot of fun. Great delivery, and fab packaging as always by amazon. 🙂
I love to play this game! The only thing that I would change is the chance to play with some friends! Would be much more fun!
I bought this as the price was very good compared to video games shops. Excellent amazon delivery as usual. Keeps you entrained. If you already know the game you will enjoy it but it would be nice to be able to play with someone else, for example using two controllers.
Brilliant, keeps the wife happy and although its not 2 player we can play together taking it in turns so love i
Daughter loves this game, kept her entertained for a while.
It is prefect just what I ordered it came on the date they said it would
A good life simulation game to learn how things work in real life.
Great deliver was very quick and game sealed and works perfect. Would recommend to buy agai
Arrived in great time, product in excellent condition, brought for my partner and she loves it.
Bought as a gift for my niece, she’s spent hours playing on it, it was a bit!
Overall ok
Trs bien, arriv en avance par rapport a la date de livraiso
Awesome game! Came well before the expected delivery date and in great condition!
El juego est muy bien, cierto es que le aadira ms opciones de diseo tal y como tena el 3, pero en general est bien.
This was a gift for my 10 year old bephew for Christmas. He loves i
Bought whilst on offer, great game, prompt delivery. Brilliant for all Sims fans.
Bought as a present – my brother loves this.
I find it hard to understand the controls on the PS4 as I’m used to playing the game on the desktop but he has picked it up quickly. He enjoys the game!
Really good game if you like to build and be social would recommend this game especially if you have played previous sim titles
Got this for my son and he is very happy with the service and the produc
Not opened it yet as it’s a Christmas gift but look ok thanks
This game is great for anybody who’s got anxiety or has an eye for designing houses
I absolutely love this game, definitely a lot better than I expected it to be
She loves this game, still trying to find out how to recover the lost baby
This game is nearly as good as the pc version nostalgic and great to see my children enjoy a game I loved speedy delivery
Arrived quickly
I find this game mind numbingly boring but my son seems to enjoy i
Controls different to ps3 version take a bit getting use to.
Great game came in the designated time that was delivered thank you so much
Daughter loves this game. She was waiting for ages to get on the PS4 platform and was not disappointed.
Enjoys setting up Characters and building the houses.
Awsome game once you get through all of the tutorial process and trust me, take your time and go through it as the game is great. All round great service and speedy delivery.
I loved how well it worked and the condition that it was in.There is nothing to dislike.
Good enough but a lot of restrictions unless you want to pay even more for packages.
Love this game it’s a great game harder than the P.C but still enjoyable love making homes n places
Good update on the 3rd instalment. Will have to dig deaper in customizing my sim
Good game, however be warned it is a massive time sink my daughter can be on it for hours and not realise.
Arrived on time. Xmas prezzie for daughter. I’m sure she will love i
Love it!!!, arrived quickly, good condition, works fine, and I love the game,I cannot wait to get some add ons for i
I was one of those people who haven’t played Sims for a long time & mainly on PC when I did, I had Sims 3 (I think it was, the one on the Xbox 360) but an update ruined the game for me & I didn’t keep it so I was hesitating on this specialty being on console however if you’re hesitating too, please read.
My granddaughter was thrilled with this game, she has played it a lot!
Valentine’s gift for my Fianc as he really wanted it, he played it once & didn’t like it so lent it me, had it ever since. Not bought any expansions. Good game just remember to keep saving as it glitches out alot, if you’ve been on it a while.
A blast from the past with loads of new features. Arrived well packaged and on time
My 9yr old loved this game got for his birthday
Just the sims , the same as always chilling and fu
Doesn’t have beggar loot crates so good.
Expansions are overly expensive compared to witcher 3 expansions upon release.
Sims sometimes freeze when forwarding time, needs to add in the feature that made npc sims be able to start new jobs, reproduce, divorce et cetera.
Will take some time getting use to having used to play it on the computer.
It is exactly like the pc version! Controls are confusing to start of with but it gets easier the more you play 🙂
Good delivery good game controls are a bit off but no
My daughter was really looking forward to playing this…although it took her a while to get used to the control system which were pretty complicated to be honest, but as soon as she mastered them after a couple of hours playing…she was telling me how to play it.
It’s OK. Would have liked to see some kind of challenges/objectives like in the sims bustin out.
Bit of a glitch when making sims, but it is a brilliantly designed game and the graphics are great.
Always been a Sims fan. However, this game in particular seems unfinished at this point in time.
Quite a few glitches. Some have been patched (save glitch) but there are still some that need to be addressed.
Easy to get back into even after a 5 year hiatus. Controls are relatively the same and there’s much more freedom in terms of design.
Gets quite boring if lifespan is set to long. You’ve been warned haha
haven’t seen my son since Christmas mainly due to his new ps4 and games ..he was delighted with this as hes had the sims for pc and earlier playstation consoles and couldn’t wait to try the new version.
Great game. Controls a little hard to get used to but once you do it’s a great game. Save issues have been fixed since recent update.
Verdict:
Graphics 9/10
Gameplay 10/10
Longevity 10/10
Controls 9/10
Content 9/10
I hope I can help deciding to get this or not.
Sims is sims, it’s simply brilliant, if you loved The Sims back 10 years or back in the day then you won’t be disappointed. And yes it runs well on the PS4.
