I use kitchen knives every day, several times a day, and I have learned that cheap, low quality knives are a waste of money and a misery to use. So here we are with a new set of knives in the medium price range, and I’ve had them hard at work for a few months now.
There are two small knives suitable for cutting small vegetables, a large chef’s knife with a broad, curved blade, and a long, narrow-bladed carving knife. A big bread knife with a serrated edge completes the set. Don’t be misled by “seven-piece”, there are five knives.
In addition, you get a sharpening steel and a wooden knife rack. I don’t have the skill to use a steel, and don’t want to risk spoiling a knife edge, so it goes unused. A carving fork would have been a more welcome item in this set. As for the wide rack, I disliked it. It takes up a lot of counter space. I’m storing the knives in a more compact wooden holder that I already owned.
All the knives have stood up to going in the dishwasher, and the blades are obviously excellent steel. The handles are properly fastened to the tangs by three rivets, so the handles are going to stay firmly in place. I never trust a knife with a moulded on plastic handle. In addition, each knife has a pommel — the rear end that helps the handle stay firmly in place and also counterbalances the blade, like the knob at the end of a sword handle. If you have really large hands you might find the handles a little slim, but for most people, these will be comfortable to use.
Really pleased with my new set of knives. Love the modern design of the block holding the knives. Knives themselves, very professional looking – easy to hold , lovely and sharp.
I bought this as it is supposed to have steel close to the maximum hardness for knives so they should keep sharp for longer. I also bought it as it had the right set of small, medium and large chef’s knives, a carving and a bread knife. I have had it for 2 months and the blades are still very sharp and I find the two smaller chef’s knives ideal for most preparation purposes.
I’ve had and been using these knives for around 6 months now and I’ve been very impressed. They are super sharp and make chopping previously difficult vegetables like Butternut Squash really easy! The two smaller knives are great for veg such as peppers and corguette which I chop multiple times throughout the week. The bread and chefs knife are also very good although used much less frequently in this house!
I am grateful that this set includes a sharpener, which although I’ve not had to use yet, will be really handy when I need to sharpen the blades.
I am not so keen on the block that holds them and I dithered between giving a 4 or 5 start rating and have The block feels like it should go with a different set of knives – maybe it’s the colour of the wood that I’m not keen on. But as this is subjective I have opted for the 5 due to the value for money of the knives.
This is a really nice set of good quality knives. All of them are brilliantly sharp and make easy work of cutting veg, carving meat or slicing bread. They are well weighted and feel comfortable to use. There is a sharpening rod to keep the knives nice and sharp. The knives should be hand washed to keep them in too condition. I knocked one star off for the holder, this feels and looks quite poor quality and really let’s down the set. I don’t hesitate to recommend the knives though.
I’ve given 4 stars because overall the knifes themselves are decent quality and good value for money although attention to detail when polishing and packaging should be a must as the main chef’s knife has a mark on the top of the blade and a guard missing on another ( see all pics)
The wooden block on the other hand is of poor quality and looks like scrap wood that’s been cleaned up, The sanding is very poor as there are splinters on the inside of the cut outs and back board ,this should of been sanded .
Also there is a blemish and dents on the facia of the wood giving an overall Poor look about them .
As a chef, I can really appreciate good knives.
This is a really exciting set of knives with a really nice and stable wooden holder.
I’ve wanted to have one in the kitchen for a long time.
The knives are of medium quality.
With regular use, their lifespan goes away in about a month. But with a simple kitchen sharpener, you can make it sharp again.
There are different types of knives in the set.
It is also a small slicer, meat cutter and bread slicer.
I’m happy with the set.
We use it every day.

These are really lovely really sharp knives, and the sharpener which fits is a huge bonus as I usually get annoyed when they have no home. The knives are easy to access, clean, use and are used allot every single day. The block is brilliant and helps easy access however is a little bulky at the back, but I can’t think how this can be changed. I like that there is a clean block as the closed ones make me gag thinking about the bacteria in them! Pretty sure these knives will last me for life! X
I am known to be very fussy when it comes to my kitchen knives. It’s sometimes difficult to buy a set which incorporates a useful selection of knives; this meets that need. These are sturdy, have good thickness so they are not bendy and the metal of the blade is carried the full length of the handle. Unless I see this in a knife I simply won’t buy them. The stand is solid and doesn’t take up too much room so you can have these placed on your worktop for easy access. All in all I’m thrilled with this set…. and the price is great as well.
These are great knives. A good price in a really nice holder. They cut well when new and quite easy to sharpen. They’re quite lightweight and stiff when cutting. Impressive for the price.

I was interested in this set as I haven’t heard of the brand. I was impressed with the selection of knives which included a knife sharpener. The knives itself are of good quality and seem strong and robust. I like how the knife block is flat so I can flush it against my kitchen wall. This will compliment the set of Japanese knives that I have and will use these daily to preserve the more expensive Japanese knives for bigger and more special meals.
It is good value for money at the time of review but if you are lucky, you can get a similar set of more well known brands on sale.

his is a high quality set of knife. very versatile because you can use it to any type of food plus a sharpener. knives are not very lightweight but not too heavy, weight is just right. i find the handle slim so its a bit hard to grip especially when you are you using it for a long period. the knife block is very sturdy, but it occupies space because of its slant shape. this is bit pricey but worth it.
The first time I used one of the larger knives I got a nasty cut (while washing it in a rush, actually) so you need to be careful with these.
They have quite a bit of weight to them and they are well made, very sturdy. The materials used are high quality and there is no hint of rust, mold on the wood (although it is kept on the counter in the kitchen, right next to the cooker) and it looks very solid and expensive.
A nice set with a knife for bread, meat, vegetables and a sharpener (not my favourite but it works).
I can only recommend this set. I’ve been using it for a month now, mainly the smallest of the knives, it has lost the extra edge to it but it will take another few months before it meets the sharpener.
This is a delightfully attractive knife set that is certainly going to look stunning in any kitchen. These are what I would consider “display knives” as you wouldn’t really want to use these and get the whole thing dirty.
These come in a retail style and large box. If these were for some kind of gift, they are perfect to just wrap up as is.
The knives are wonderful, really sharp and comfortable to hold. The balance on these is terrific, and are weighted perfectly.
As knives, they are brilliant. As a display piece, this is brilliant.
Basically, I recommend these, and also a pretty good price too.

I didn’t give 5 stars because the block does take up quite a bit of space and this is an issue in my kitchen but might not for others. I would still recommend to others.
This is no doubt incredibly beautiful knife set with its own wooden block. Everything presents itself amazingly, TICWELL did great job on that. For your use they offers you 5 knives with various sizes and purpose such a bread knife, chefs knife and carving knife and smaller as well one sharpener to alway keep them sharp for whatever you need them.
Right out of the box all knives are super sharp, didn’t have to sharp the extra. They been forged from single piece of solid steel. Handle is super comfortable and i love fact that this set is dishwasher safe, however they recommending to wash by hand. I been so far using dishwasher and didn’t notice even a spot so great stuff.
Block stand offers great visibility to knife you want to pick but i have to mention one thing. Block stand stink so much that it is unbearable. It smells to the point where my partner had to take it outside otherwise he would vomit. Not sure what is it but surely something is wrong. Amazing knives with beautiful stand but shame we can’t use this stand. We been washing it, trying to kill that smell but nothing seems to working. In this case i rather have bamboo stand then. Nonetheless knives are amazing and this is all about.

Be careful when first using this, I hadn’t realised just how blunt and done my old knife set was until I nearly sliced off a finger when the blade of one of these knives glided through a potato. The blades are so sharp it makes preparation quicker and easier and I do appreciate the fact that a knife sharpener has been provided. The knives clean like brand new too. Having a stand that lines up the knives, rather than a square block, takes up a bit more counter space but looks really good and makes selecting a knife not so much a guessing game anymore.

This is a complete knife set that has a great knife block to store them.
The knives are great, it has a modern look and is very high quality. I love to cook so this gives me pure joy. It’s so easy to prepare the ingredients using these knives and compared to my other knives, they’re much lighter and the handle is great since it is so comfortable to hold.
These knives are made out of rust and acid-resistant German high carbon stainless steel. They are forged from a single piece of solid steel and three rivets of technology that strengthen the stability of the blade handle. It helped me control the blade better, unlike my other knives. The knives are tough and strong against deterioration which means I can use it for a long time. It has a wooden block that acts as its storage which is made out of Acacia natural wood. It has a hollow design for easy drying and it also makes it easier to pick which knife to use.
You use this like every other knife so make sure it’s out of reach by the children to avoid accidents as they are extremely sharp.

You receive an impressive set of knifes, I wasn’t expecting these to be as good as they are, you receive 7 very sharp knifes, which sit in a lovely wooden stand
Handles are good to grip and have a stylish finish, they look very classy
These are lovely, a little expensive, however I’m guessing these are engineered to a high standard, which would make them good value.
A nice well made set of knifes, a super stand which keeps the blades safe, and the knifes handy, really good quality super sharp blades.

The block they are in is solid and easily stands upright on the worktop looking not only great but being practical too. They came very well packed individually with blade covers.
I would say though that i was very disappointed with the overall packaging. They came without being in a amazon cardboard box – which in my mind to have these show what they are (an age restricted item too) is awful and dangerous. My settings on amazon are to have every package covered in amazon packaging so if this was done because of the seller not wanting to use it i dont know but it’s something i think needs looking into.

This is an excellent quality set of kitchen knives from Tickwell. The knives feel really comfortable in the hand. This makes using them a real pleasure when preparing food. I was more than happy with how sharp the knives were straight from the box. The set includes 8″ chef’s knife, 8″ carving knife, 8″ bread knife, 5″ utility knife, 3″ paring knife. Along with the knives you are also getting a 8″ knife sharpener and wooden storage block.
I must complement the manufacturer on the presentation too. This set would make an ideal gift, especially this time of year.

This set of 5 knifes and a blade sharpener offers you a complete set of cutting options whatever dish you are preparing. You have a paring knife for fruit and vegetables, a utility knife for more general purposes, a bread knife for slicing bread or rolls, a carving knife for cooked meats, and a chef knife for uncooked meats.
The knifes themselves are a nice blend between traditional and modern. The blades have a very nice, clean, modern style to them with the bright colouring of high carbon stainless steel. The handles have the classic western three rivet style to them, but a more modern, sleek and rounded contoured shape.
Going back to the blades, they are clearly very, very high quality and they’re not going to bend, warp or break. They’re easy to clean and will slice through everything you need them to. That said, they aren’t overly sharp, so if you do want your blades like razers you’ll want to spend some time sharpening them using the included blade sharpener.
And now back to the handles, I found them to be lovely. They fit the shape of my hand perfectly and they’re so easy to grip. They feel great in your hand due to the shape, weight and smoothness of them. They’re the perfect balance of looks and function.
If I could find one complaint? I guess I’d say the knife-block is very traditional in its style and so is unlikely to suit more modern homes. In a traditional styled kitchen the mid to dark browns of the acacia natural wood is going to look lovely and well suited. In a modern home, however, it’s going to standout as looking very rustic/archaic in comparison to other items that surround it.
Overall though, as long as you are picking it for the right kitchen, then this is an incredible set of knifes with a very weighty and stylish block to store them in.
This item looks amazing sat on my kitchen counter, I really like the dark wood look and the view of the blades within finished off the look (I really like the contrast of wood and metal)
The knives are fantastic out of the box, great finish and almost effortless to cut through meat and veg. The addition of the sharpener means that this quality set will likely last you a very long time provided you take care of them properly (always manually dry and put away after washing to avoid water marks on these pretty items)
Never got a knife block before but wanted these!
On first look, they look fancy! I should hope so at its price .
They are very well balanced, they first felt little heavy but compared to my other knifes they are quite light.
The feel to holding them is nice, great handle length…
There are a couple of ‘dents’ or marks..mostly around the handle areas..but very tiny, so hardly noticable unless your examining it to write a review ..
So sleek and smooth, sharp and again FANCY.

Nice clean blades, no unnecessary patterns, coatings or etchings…which can make it harder to clean.
My only down side is 2 things..
1 annoying, other easily fixed..,
annoying one .lack of much counter space, and to have this facing the correct way, i would need to have it away from the wall, about the length of the smallest knife, to be able to get out the biggest knife. As its leaning angle is quite a bit.
But i will just have to have this turned around i guess lol.
Other is the wood frame..a few bits where the wood is not smooth and all rough looking.. for this price, would have expected it all a smoothness..but hubby can easily sand these bits himself.
