Sturdiness: the main train and the battery carriage is sturdy, otherwise the other carriages are plastic. The rail tracks light plastic. Can be ‘flimsy’.
Smoke: yes, alot very good steam strain
Lights for the carriage: underneath the carriage.
Anything I can suggest for improvements: more train tracks for the price paid for, use hard plastic for tracks same as the carriages if not metal or sold material.
Overall: It is a: good gift for anyone, for under the Christmas Tree, additional train set, decoration for the house.

The train is great for it’s ‘playability’ factor. The metal body gives it some authenticity and the lights, sound and steam make it a really great loco for children.
Really pleased with this purchase. It’s excellent value for money and the instructions are easy to follow.
Excellent metal engine, real steam from the smoke stack, light up carriages, realistic sounds, has a 5 second delay when you turn it on, then sounds and steams and off it goes.
Only 1 drawback, the carriage light switch is underneath the carriage, would have been so much easier if it were on top.
If this was made by Hornby, it would be hundreds of pounds.

The quality was AMAZING just had a bad batch where one of the lights was not working. I’m pretty sure if I took a replacement it would have been perfect my kids loved it when they saw it. Shame I returned it.

ack is too small to go around my tree so it lifting off of the ground, no option to buy extra track pieces. Would expect for the cost for there to be more track and also for the carriages not to be made of cheap plastic.

Excellent product, the train is very sturdy and made of metal. The smoke is denser than the pictures on amazon show and demonstrate. The carriages are a little flimsy, as they are only plastic, and you really have to take a few moments to make sure the wheels are in the right place. Brillant sound that varies from the start and when it gets going. Excellent detail on the product throughout, for its price (comparing with Hornby) Only issues, include when you turn it off or on, it lifts the front wheels off of the track and can be fiddly to turn off while in motion. The carriage light switches are underneath, so unless you take them off the track to turn them on (unclipping them too) then it can be fiddly to get your fingers underneath to turn on or off, then realign the wheels…..again. Once it gets going though, these are minor things, as it is brilliant to watch. We have placed ours under the Christmas tree.
Parcel arrived on time but was disappointed it was not packaged. This is a Christmas present for my grandson and now there is a great big label addressed to me on the outer packaging. The description states metal alloy train set but it’s only the train that is metal, the carriages are all plastic. Not yet made he set up as it’s not yet Christmas so can’t comment on that.
bought this train for me and its fab, i tried it out all works good , track is easy to set up , youll need a small screw driver which i already had to unscrew where the batteries go. also the carriages use a watch battery which is already inserted and a switch underneath them to turn them on and off. its fantastically made and the sounds and steam is really good. run time to replace the water for the steam is a good forty minutes.
Lovely product kids will play all day with it as it has great features which will make them exited .
